At Octavius Labs; Peter was hard at work near his usual off work time doing some analysis on the computer. Octavius was grumbling while looking at the section of lab that was still being cordoned off by the police thank to the prowler breaking in the previous night. "I tell ya Parker; you missed quite a show after you left. By a few minutes you would have been here to see Spider-Man chasing off that masked criminal. Fortunate for us that nothing was stolen or damaged." Octavius told him as Peter kept his face straight. "So is it looking on the data for the inhibitor chip?" Octavius asked as Peter had been looking into analysis of a special inhibitor chip which would help protect brain functions when connected to the robotic limbs.
"Sorry Doc but we are far from the stage where I can comfortably say we can try live trials; too many variables to sort out and the slightest glitch could have irreversible damage to the brain..." Peter replied as Octavius frowned and shook his head.
"I guess I will have to trust you on this Parker; the best scientific discoveries took time and patience. Who knows what would have happened if I just jumped into things..." Octavius muttered as Peter felt his Spider-Sense go off and they heard and felt a blast coming from below another floor of the facility. Peter wanted to go somewhere to hide but felt Octavius dragging him to go out the exit to saftey as he got all the staff to evacuate. "Second incident in less than 24 hours; I swear that I am so glad this place is insured for a fortune..." Octavius muttered as most of the staff were through the back exit but before Peter and Octavius could follow them Peter felt his Spider-Sense and pushed Octavius back as there was a shockwave blast creating debris that blocked the exit.
They then saw a figure wearing a red, orange and black impact suit with silver gauntlets on his hands, a yellow ski mask with a red triangle on it and goggles.
"Parker, Octavius! I am bringing you all down!" shouted the figure and they recognised the voice as Herman Schultz who had been recently fired months ago when Peter had caught him taking pictures of confidential files and blueprints to sell to competitors. They recognised the devices as his vibro-shock gauntlets which could create a shockwave blast but Octavius had it shelved since he feared it would be too dangerous which Peter recommended. "You snitched on me Parker and said my gauntlets were too dangerous; you and Octavius got me fired and no place would hire me with that on my record! Fortunately I still had my plans at home and someone anonymously funded me to build these so that I could get my revenge!" Schultz ranted getting his gauntlets ready but then came in a figure who sent Schultz back.
Peter noticed it was Zarda as Power Princess who had a stern look on her face as she ripped his gauntlets from his hands and crushed them with Schultz panicked as he surrendered. She then pulled the debris out and smiled to Peter and Octavius as he helped them through. The staff members muttered and were excited to see Zarda and asked for autographs and pictures which she was more than happy to do so. The police came to arrest Schultz and get statements; Peter and Zarda went aside and smiled to eachother.
"I was above New York looking for trouble before changing back but seeing the blast, I knew you could handle most things that cross your paths but I was too worried about you not to interfere. Plus I couldn't ignore something happening with great power and great responsibility." Zarda whispered to him and Peter chuckled. "If only we didn't have an audience..." Zarda whispered to his ear.
Octavius told everyone to go home once they have the clear and the lab would unfortunately be closed for the foreseeable future until its cleared and fixed up. Peter gave his statement but Octavius asked to take him aside before he walked home. "I know your secret Parker." Octavius whispered to him and Peter was freaking out in his mind but tried to pay innocent. "I suspected when I thought that your desk photo of your with your girlfriend; how tall she was and looked like her in the face and even having your name. Seeing you interact up close pretty much confirmed that you were dating Power Princess." Octavius whispered to him and Peter calmed down a bit while thinking that he had better let Zarda know about this.
Peter asked to keep it down but Octavius patted his shoulder and whispered to him "I will be quiet about it as I trust that it won't interfere with your work. Still I just hope that I don't expect to lose you to the Squadron." Peter smiled as he said goodbye to him and walked down. He was met up with Zarda who changed into her civilian attire as Peter relayed the talk that he just had with Octavius.
Unbeknownst to them watching from atop the Octavius Labs building using cloaking technology and special magnifying technology in his visor and amplified hearing was the Prowler. He then called his employer and told him what had happened; who said "So Schultz got caught and didn't cause too much damage to Octavius' lab? If he managed to get to Octavius' projects or his employees then I could have forced him to sell but still Schultz accomplished more than you did last night Lawson."
"Not a total bust; Octavius' favourite employee Parker is actually dating Power Princess. I heard Octavius confronting him about it and it was backed up by how they had both looked at eachother." The Prowler named Rick Lawson replied as his employer took a moment to digest this information.
"Quite useful information indeed; if this is true then I had better leave Octavius alone for the time being or risk getting the Squadron involved and I can't have that especially at this particular time. Still expect a good payment for this information Lawson." The employer finally said as Lawson smirked.
"Thank you Mr Stark sir." Lawson told him as he made his escape.
