Chapter 13 (The Pen Is Mightier Than The Sword)

"Rem, are you ready for your first day of school tomorrow?" Subaru asked, as they walked down the streets back to the apartment.

They were returning home after a romantic date at a restaurant. Subaru wanted to do something special before they headed off to school, and thought a date would be a good finisher to his coatic summer.

"For as long as you are with me. Rem will always be ready to do anything" Rem responded as she looked down at the sidewalk. Subaru held Rem's hand as they continued walking.

Rem was a little nervous about entering into such a big crowd, but felt better knowing she was going alongside Subaru.

"I am just glad you were kind enough to come alongside me." Subaru said, smiling a bit.

"Please just stay by me, Subaru" Rem said in a slightly anxious tone. Subaru looked over at her face. He could read her nervous expression, and heard the anxiety in her voice. He wanted to do everything possible to make her comfortable.

"Rem, don't be afraid of losing me. We will sit together in class, so you could be right by me at all times.'' Subaru said in a reassuring tone.

Rem smiled slightly as her low spirits were lifted up again by Subarus encouraging words. Rem learned to trust and rely on Subaru just like she did with Ram. Subaru was her guide in this fascinating world.

Even with Subaru. Rem was still going to miss seeing her sister regularly. It's a thought Rem tried her best not to dwell on. She luckily always had Subaru there to distract her whenever that thought was coming present, but it still came back to torment her.

Rem felt tears build up at the corner of her eyes. She just missed Ram so much. She wished Ram could join them on this school adventure, but her royal candidacy got in the way of things.

Rem has never lived away from Ram ever in her life. It was still a challenge she had yet to overcome.

Subaru noticed Rem's head tilt down and caught a glimpse of a couple small tears rolling down her face.

He wanted to say something to comfort Rem, but did not have any words. He hated it when Rem got sad. It made him sad to see her sad. Subaru wanted Rem happy every second she was with him. Whenever she got sad Subaru felt like he failed at his main objective.

She sniffled loudly as she wiped tears from her face. Subaru knew he had to say something in order to comfort her. He just didn't want to make the situation worse by asking a question that makes her dwell further on what's troubling her.

"Hey, what's wrong, Rem?" Subaru said in a sympathetic voice. Rem looked at him. Subaru stared into her blue crystal eyes as a few more tears leaked out of her eye sockets.

"Subaru…. Rem misses Nee-Sama!" Rem cried out as she covered her face, and weeped into her hands.

"You will see her again. Remember all we got to do is phone Bea-ko, and we are back there in an instant" Subaru said. Rem removed her hands from her face to look at Subaru. She sniffled again as she wiped her face.

"What if someone tries to kill her? '' Rem said in a slightly more calm voice. Rem's greatest fear about Ram's candidacy was an assasination attempt. Political assassinations were not unheard of in Lugnica. They happened in the past and even succeeded sometimes. Though these were still very rare occurrences.

Subaru smiled as he knew exactly what to tell her. "Ram has Reinhard protecting her. Thee Reinhard Von… I forgot his last name…"

"Anyway, I am a hundred percent confident nothing is going to happen to her," Subaru said in a positive tone.

Rem's face lifted. She completely forgot about Reinhard, Rams' loyal and formal knight. Rem knew he was quite powerful, and this made her feel better. Her concerns were put at ease by Subaru once again.

Subaru noticed a smile come to Rem's face, and a wave of relief came over him. Like the type of relief you feel when you defuse a bomb. He was happy to make Rem feel better about being away from her sister. They had a bond like no other, so it must have hurt to be so far away from each other.

The two eventually returned to the apartment. It was growing late outside. Darkness had already consumed the bustling city, yet it still shined with its lit up buildings on every street. Rem and Subaru decided to check in for the night. They had a big day ahead of them tomorrow.

"Rem, I am going to place your school uniform in the dresser. Remember to wear it tomorrow morning" Subaru said as he opened the dresser drawers trying to find a spot to place it.

"Alright Subaru" Rem responded from the bed. Her attention was fixated on a game she was playing on her flip phone.

Subaru was looking at the disorganized dresser trying to find a good spot to place her uniform. He had been meaning to sort the dresser to have one side have his clothes, and the other side have Rem's clothes. He had yet to get around to doing it. He continuously just put it off for another time. He knows deep down Rem is just going to end up doing it for him eventually.

He crammed her uniform in one of the drawers and forced it shut. Subaru walked over to bed and laid down on his side.

Rem still sat up right, her attention still fixed to the game on her phone. The simplest of games brought Rem much enjoyment and entertainment. Subaru found it adorable to see Rem smile and look at the screen intently at a simple flip phone game. The sound of her pressing the buttons filled his ears.

Subaru thought it would be a good idea to give Rem a short debriefing of how tomorrow was going to play out. He hoped this would settle some of her anxiety about tomorrow.

"Rem, for tomorrow all we do is just go to class for short introductions. We aren't there all day, it isn't going to be much learning. We just go in and get introduced to the courses." Subaru said.

"Sounds good Subaru. Good to know we are getting introductions before we start" Rem said as she closed her phone and placed it on the nightstand. She laid down and set her head on the felt better knowing that tomorrow was going to be focused on introductions. It should give an opportunity to get her familiar with school in general.

"Goodnight Rem. Sleep well alright" Subaru said as turned off the light. Completely darkening the room. The only thing illuminating was the alarm clock on the nightstand that flashed the current time.

Subaru felt Rem grab onto him and lay her face on his chest as she drifted off. Subaru loved it when Rem got all cuddly with him at night. Having her lean on him and feel her emitted body heat against his skin was by far the most relaxing thing he ever experienced.

Usually when Subaru would try and drift off to sleep alone. Thoughts and worries about the next day would clog his head. Of course he was still nervous about how Rem would handle school, but they were suppressed by Rem's embrace. Rem brought Subaru nothing but positivity and he was thankful for that. He drifted off with Rem next to him signaling the end to another day.

The next morning Kenichi opened Subarus' door. He immediately took notice of Subaru and Rem cuddling each other as they slept. He laughed quietly. Kenichi couldn't believe Subaru was able to get himself a girlfriend. He honestly thought it was never going to happen.

Kenichi cleared his throat before he spoke "Get up Barusu! Time for another day of boring housework" Kenichi said, mocking Ram's femenine yet demanding voice.

"I will be in the kitchen soon," Subaru mumbled.

"Hah! I aint Ram, but still get up! You are lucky to be saved from your usual morning wake up!" Kenichi said. He was a bit disappointed to not be able to wrestle Subaru every morning. He always had Rem right there protecting him.

Subaru's eyelids slowly opened. He saw a little bit of light emitting in his room through the curtains. His attention was fixed to his dad standing at the door.

"Good morning dad," Subaru said. He looked down and noticed Rem was still sleeping peacefully on his chest.

"Look at you, using your women as protection from our morning wrestling matches," Kenichi said.

"Anyways, breakfast is almost ready," Kenichi said before he walked out to let Rem and Subaru get ready. Subaru shook Rem's shoulder trying to wake her up.

"Rem, are you up?" Subaru asked quietly. Rem lifted her head and rubbed her eyes with a smile on her face.

"Good morning Subaru" Rem said as she opened her eyes to look at him. Subaru smiled back as he petted her head. Rem's smile grew as she blushed lightly.

"Are you ready for today?" Subaru asked.

"Of course I am," Rem responded enthusiastically.

"Great. Anyways breakfast is ready, let's go eat" Subaru said as he got out of bed and walked over to his door and opened it. The second he stepped out of his room he was tackled down to the floor by Kenichi.

"Good morning Barusu!" Kenichi said as he began wrestling Subaru on the floor. Subaru tried to shake his dad off of him.

"Dad! Not now!" Subaru cried out. He noticed Rem walk out his room. He looked up and pleaded for assistance.

"Rem! Save me!" Subaru pleaded. Rem giggled and walked to the table. Subaru felt like he just was betrayed as Rem walked off not helping him one bit.

"Cry all you want! Your girlfriend aint helping you!" Kenichi yelled out as he continued to wrestle Subaru.

"You can do it Subaru" Rem said in an encouraging tone from the table. She had a giant smile spread across her face.

Despite Rem's encouragement Subaru still failed his attempts to escape his father. Subaru thrashed around furiously, but Kenichi held him tight.

"Breakfast is ready. We don't want to make them late for their first day" Naoko said from the kitchen. Kenichi let go of Subaru and walked to the table. Subaru laid there on the floor completely exhausted from the wrestling match.

Subaru stood up and walked over to the table and sat next to Rem. He shot her a disappointed glance as he laid his head on the table. Rem brushed his hair with her hand and laughed

"Traitor" Were the only words that could leave Subaru's mouth. Eventually Noako came out with plates of food. They all began to eat breakfast. Not many words were said by Subarus parents. They were still very anxious about Rem going to school.

"So Rem, are you sure you're set to go today?" Kenichi asked as looked over to Rem with a serious expression on his face. Rem nodded her head.

"Yes, I got Subaru with me to help me if I get stuck on a question," Rem said. Kenichi laughed a bit. He knew Subaru was a horrible teacher, but figured he could talk and explain stuff to Rem better than anyone else.

"She will do fine. Rem was quite the fast learner. I was quite impressed at her performance during our study sessions" Naoko said.

"What subjects did you guys go over?" Subaru asked. He only teached Rem Japanese, and let Naoko handle the rest.

"We went over mathematics, science, some English, and more complex Japanese," Naoko said. Subaru nodded his head, but his face dropped a bit when he noticed his mom left out one subject.

"Wait! What about history?" Subaru asked. Naoko shook her head.

"We never got around to it," Naoko said. The truth was she couldn't bring herself to teach Rem about genocides. She did want to see Rem sad and depressed. She didn't know to what extent genocides were present in her world. Naoko never bothered to ask Rem that question.

Subaru sighed heavily. He knew this was going to cause problems since they were enrolled in 20th century world history. He just prayed that he would be able to explain some of the stuff to Rem without issue.

When they finished eating breakfast Rem and Subaru got cleaned up and dressed into their school uniforms, and prepared for their departure.

"Do you have your bag and your phone with you?" Subaru asked. Rem checked her bag and saw her phone inside along with her school supplies. She looked back at Subaru and nodded.

"Are you ready to go?" Subaru asked as walked over to the door.

"Rem is ready" Rem said as she walked with Subaru to the door. Naoko and Kenichi said their goodbyes before they made their way out. Once out of the apartment building Rem and Subaru walked down the street.

The sun shone brightly in the sky, as a pleasant breeze rocked the trees in the nearby park. Rem held Subarus hand as they walked down the street. It helped calm her anxiety. She was still very nervous about the crowds.

"Rem, our main objective is to keep social interactions with other people to a minimum. We are going to go there, get introduced. Then get out of there like ninjas" Subaru said.

"Ninjas?" Rem asked, looking over to Subaru ready for his explanation.

"Ninjas are like…. Stealthy people that dont stand out from the crowd. That's exactly what we want to be." Subaru said. He looked down the street and caught a glimpse of the school. His stomach turned as he saw the huge crowds of people.

"We are approaching the school. It should just be down the street" Subaru said. Rems' grasp tightened when she saw the crowd of people down the street.

"That's a lot of people, Subaru,'' Rem said in a semi nervous tone. Subarus hand acted as Rems' stress ball. Subaru slightly winced in pain as Rem tightened her Oni grasp.

"Yah it's a lot, but luckily once we are in the classroom there won't be nearly as many," Subaru said. Rem nodded her head in understanding as she continued to walk with Subaru. Eventually they arrived at the giant building.

Rem looked away from the big crowds and buried her face in Subarus arm. Their loud chatter filled her ears. Subaru found a clear space to stop and debrief Rem before they entered the building.

Subaru stopped and turned Rem around to look at him. He put his hands on her shoulders, and gave her a calming smile.

"What we are going to do now Rem, is find our class and sit down. Just stay with me, I will guide you there. The homeroom class we are in is located in the science wing, so we should start heading there" Subaru said.

"Ok Subaru, but please…. Keep holding Rem's hand" Rem said as she held her hand out.

Subaru kept his smile. He reached his hand out to grab onto Rems, but before he could do so. He felt a pair of hands shove him to the ground aggressively. Subaru fell directly on his arm trying to catch himself.

"Subaru!" Rem cried out. She looked up to see who shoved him. A tall guy stood in front of them. The sun disturbed Rem's vision, so she couldn't make out much facial features.

"Missed ya Natuski. Where have you been?" The random guy said in a cheery and strangely friendly tone. He talked to Subaru like he was an old friend. Subaru groaned as he stood back up and brushed himself off.

"Good to see you have yet to move on from me!" Subaru said as he looked at the kid who shoved him. The guys cheerful smile faded and was replaced by an agitated frown.

He hit Subaru directly in the stomach. Subaru stepped back and grabbed his stomach, gasping for air.

"Don't look at me… We have been over this" The guy said in a very serious tone. As Subaru continued to gasp for air.

"Leave Subaru alone!" Rem said, shouting slightly. The guy turned his head and immediately took notice of the very attractive girl standing in front of him.

A weird smile came to the guy's face as he leaned against the wall. Rem continued to stare him down, holding her agitated expression.

"Hello, what may your name be?" The guy asked in a flirtatious tone. He tried to make himself look attractive to Rem by brushing his hair with his hand.

"Rem"

"What a lovely name. I quite like it. That type of name carries character and personality" The guy responded, still carrying a charming voice. Trying to swon his way into Rem's heart.

Subaru cringed when he heard how Rem was being talked to by the guy. Rem just latched on to Subarus arm as her anger left her body and was replaced with anxiety.

The guy watched Rem cling onto Subaru all close and cuddly like. His attentioned turned to Subaru wanting an explanation for Rem's strange behavior. Subaru wasn't paying any attention to him. He was brushing Rem's hair trying to calm her down.

"You know this girl?" The guy asked, dropping his friendly tone, and replaced it by a cold tone that carried jealousy.

"Yes" Subaru responded

"Is she like your… Girlfriend or something?" The guy asked. Subaru nodded his head before he held Rem's hand and guided her away from the guy leaving him behind.

When the weird guy was out of sight. Rem looked up at Subaru "Who was he? Why did he hit you?" Rem asked concerned. Subaru frowned a bit. He really didn't want to talk about this strange dude that had been pestering him for years.

"That guy's name is Marshal. He has this weird urge and motive to hit me whenever he sees me look at him. He does not like being looked at by me and a couple other people. Anyway, pay no mind to him. He is not going to bother you. I think he actually likes you. Judging by his cringe-flirtatious tone." Subaru said

Rem still had a frown on her face. She didn't like seeing Subaru picked on. "Well I don't like him" Rem said

"Once again don't worry about it. Just avoid him,'' Subaru said. Rem nodded in agreement. Subaru was glad Rem had his back on that kid. Marshal was another weird kid that had anger issues when people looked at him funny. He was not popular. In fact he is rarely even seen out of class. No one knows where he hides during breaks.

Subaru continued to walk with Rem inside the building. People were giving them odd looks, when they saw how Rem clung to Subarus arm. Neither of them seemed bothered by it. Rem didn't even notice, and Subaru cared too little about his school reputation to pay any mind to it.

"Are class should be just down here" Subaru said as he guided Rem through the crowded hallways. Eventually they entered the assigned classroom.

Rem looked at all the science stuff in the classroom. She didn't understand most of it, but she still liked looking at it. It was a revolutionary way of thinking she had never seen in her life.

Subaru guided Rem to a set of desks near the back. They both sat down and waited for the teacher to arrive.

"So Subaru, you didn't have anyone to talk to during school?" Rem asked. Subaru nodded his head

"Yah, like I said I never had any friends. But I got you Rem, and you are the greatest friend anyone could ever have" Subaru said in a positive tone. Subaru didn't really care about not having friends at school. He had Rem, and that's all he needed.

The teacher eventually walked in and greeted the class. "Welcome to homeroom, I will be teaching some of you here science. Anyways I got your class schedules in my hand. I will pass them out once I go through attendance."

The teacher walked to his desk and looked at the list, and went down the list of students. He took notice of particular name he had yet to see in any of his classes before.

"It seems like we have a new student with us. She seemed to have transferred from Lugnica Public School…"

"Puck! What were you thinking!" Subaru screamed in his head the second he heard the word Lugnica leave the teacher's mouth. His heart began to race as sweat dripped from his face. He was worried that there were errors on Rems school papers.

"Anyways Rem, can you please stand up and walk to the front and introduce yourself." The teacher asked. Subarus heart began racing faster. He prayed that Rem would stick to the story, and keep composure.

Rem looked at Subaru with a worried look. She was scared to go up there. Subaru shot her a warm smile to try and help her keep calm.

"Go up there, and introduce yourself. Keep calm Rem, you got this." Subaru said encouragingly. Rem nodded and slowly exited her seat and began her journey to the front of the class. She grew more anxious as she passed the rows of desks. Each row possessed so many students, and it just added onto Rems anxiety.

Her journey to the front eventually ended. She slowly turned around to see everyone looking at her holding neutral expressions. Rem began to shake slightly. She didn't like being the center of attention. Especially since she was separated from Subaru to stand up there alone.

"Alright now Rem, tell us about yourself" The teacher asked in an encouraging tone. Rem kept her head down a bit to hide her face from the other students.

There was a silent pause until she finally spoke up "Hi… My name is...R..Rem... I have a… Twin sister named Ram," Rem said nervously, her voice shaking.

Rem then remembered Ram and how much she missed her. She wished Ram was with her to calm her down. It took everything in her to not break composure.

"You have a twin sister named Ram, so your parents named you guys Rem and Ram. That's a cool twin name. Rem and Ram. I like the sound of that" The teacher said in a cheery tone.

Rem nodded her head, not bothering to look back at the teacher. She lowered head further down. As her shaking increased

"Don't be shy Rem. We just wanna get to know you. I will give you one last question. What's your last name? I will give you an easy one" The teacher said, laughing a bit.

Rem froze. Her brain locked up. She completely forgot the last name given to her by Puck.

Subaru noticed how Rem froze up. He grew concerned. As the seconds went by. He immediately knew what happened. She forgot her last name. Subaru then began panicking. He needed to try and do something to help Rem.

He noticed Rem looked up at him with a pleading look in her eyes. Subaru mouthed the word Rosswal to her. Hoping Rem could read his lips. Rem noticed Subaru try to pronounce something to her, but she didn't understand what he was trying to say.

Subaru couldn't take it anymore. He wanted to slam his face on the table. He hated seeing Rem stand there and embarrass herself in front of everyone.

"Her last name is Rosswal!" Subaru blurted out. The teacher looked at Subaru with a slightly annoyed and surprised look in his eyes.

"Ah Subaru Natsuki, what a surprise to see you back here. Anyway, I think Rem is more than capable of telling us her last name. You can go now Rem" The teacher said

Rem nodded and returned to her seat hastily practically running there. When she sat down she immediately hugged Subarru tightly, and buried her face in his chest. Subaru patted her head. He felt bad that she got scared.

The teacher began to hand the students their class schedules for the year. As he was handing them out. Rem took notice of a certain object in the room. There was a model skeleton hanging on the wall.

Rem clung on to Subaru's arm very tightly. Subaru got confused at what made Rem cling onto him tightly.

"Subaru! There's a dead body over there!" Rem said in a quiet voice trying to not turn attention to herself. Subaru looked over and saw the fake skeleton.

"It's fake Rem, It's not real," Subaru said in a calming voice.

"Mr Nakusi and Mrs Rosswal. Do we have an issue of somesort?" The teacher asked in a concerned voice. He noticed how Rem was burying her face into Subarus chest. He walked up to Subaru and Rem

"Do we need to bring her to a councillor?" The teacher asked. Subaru kept his smile and shook his head.

"No no, Rem here is just a little shy that's all. She is very new around here. She sacrificed a lot to come live here. She… Just misses her sister and her family," Subaru said. Subaru knew he was taking a massive gamble by mentioning Ram. He didn't want to cloud Rem's head with thoughts of how much she missed her sister.

The teacher frowned. He had no idea Rem had to leave behind her family to come to this school. He started to feel bad that he made her stand there and introduce herself.

"Im extremely sorry, I shouldn't have made you stand up there. Just know we have councillors, and other student services if you need it. Rem, do you wanna step out for a minute?" The teacher asked. Rem lifted her head from Subarus chest to look at the teacher.

"No, I am fine," Rem said. She felt a little better knowing that there were some understanding people in Subaru's school. The teacher smiled, and handed Subaru and Rem their schedules.

The homeroom introduction class eventually concluded and everyone dispersed to go to the first class on their schedules.

Subaru and Rem proceed to go to every class on their schedule. Nothing notable happened. They only sat there for twenty minutes as the teacher talked about the course. Usually just handing out course outlines.

Rem had grown increasingly more comfortable as the day went on. She started to get used to being in a class with a bunch of random people.

Subaru and Rem eventually only had one more class left on there schedule

"We are in classroom 12-F" Subaru said as he looked at the number by each door. Eventually he found the assigned classroom and led Rem into the class. He found two seats next to each other and both of them sat down. This was the last class of the day they had to attend.

Rem was looking around the classroom reading all the educational posters on the wall trying to decipher their meaning. She also took notice of the colourful flags on the wall.

The classroom started to fill up with more students. Some of them took notice of Rems bright blue hair that made her stick out from the crowd. Eventually the teacher walked in and the introductions began.

"Welcome to 20th century world history, I will be your teacher. Let me do attendance real quick. Then we will go over the course outline and expectations." The teacher said as he walked over to his desk and read the list.

The teacher proceeded to go through attendance. Once that was over with, he handed out an introductory paper to the class detailing the assignments and units that they were going over.

The teacher teaching the course was a die hard history fanatic. There were even rumors spread around that he almost blew all his life savings on an auction to get an authentic 1800s musket used in some war. But that rumor was never proven.

"Obviously being 20th century history. We will be focusing a lot on the European side of world issues. We will be going over a lot of Japanese history as well, and what role Japan played in the world throughout the era. If you took one of my classes before, then you know that I tend to go off topic a lot. So we might be stuck on a unit for longer than expected" The teacher said as he continued to pass the papers out to the class.

Once he was finished handing out the papers. He began talking about the units the class was going to go over. Subaru had zoned out, and was not paying any attention to what he was saying. History bored Subaru tremendously.

Eventually the teacher walked to a flagpole at the front of the class. He sorted the flags and pulled one out for the class to see.

"Can anybody please tell me which country this flag belongs to?" The teacher questioned as he held up the flag. Rem looked at it and noticed it looked similar to the Japanese flag

"Oh Rem knows! Japan!" Rem answered confidently. A couple students laughed, and the teachers face suddenly grew agitated

"No, it's Israel. Mrs Rosswal, Since you seem to think it's funny to blurt out nonsense like that during my teaching. Me and you are going to have a talk after class." The teacher scolded Rem before he resumed teaching. Subaru facepalmed. He knew that something like this would happen.

Rem looked at Subaru confused to what earned her a scolding like that. Subaru looked back at her. He overheard some people laughing at Rem quietly. This made Subaru a tad bit agitated.

"Rem it's ok. Just leave the questions to me from now on, alright" Subaru said in a quiet voice. Rem nodded her head.

"Alright class. Can everyone please start making their way to the front of the school to choose their club activity. See you all tomorrow, and good day." The teacher said

Everyone rushed out of their seats to walk to the billboards to choose the club activity they wanted before they all filled up.

Rem had to stay behind for her talk. Subaru decided to sit there with her, so he could try and explain for her. Once everyone was out of the class. The teacher walked over to Rem.

"Please forgive Rem here, she's knew to Jap-" Subaru was suddenly interrupted

"Mr Natsuki, please exit the classroom. I need to have a one to one talk with your friend here" The teacher said as he looked at Rem.

Subaru got a bit frustrated that he was interrupted while trying to argue Rems' case.

"Hey Re-"

"Mr Natuski, I am not going to ask you again. If you wanna take my law class and become a defence lawyer then do so, but this ain't no courtroom. It's a one to one talk, that's all" The teacher said in an agitated tone not wanting to argue with Subaru.

Not wanting to cause a scene Subaru reluctantly made his way out of the class. He still stood by the doorway to listen in on the conversation. The teacher then turned his attention back to Rem.

"Mrs Rosswal, this is a senior course. So I expect to see some maturity. When you yell out answers like that. It shows me that you are far from capable of handling more mature subjects of history." The teacher said in a scolding tone.

Rem sat there confused. She didn't know what immature answers he was talking about. All she tried to do was answer his question.

"You are now in senior year, you should know better than that. When we get further in the course. We are going to go over some pretty serious world events that left an impact on many lives. If I hear you blurt out something like that during those serious units. You are out of my class." The teacher continued his scolding as he stared down at Rem

Rem nodded her head. She didn't know what to say. The teacher's face relaxed a bit when he saw Rem nod.

"So do we have an understanding?" The teacher asked. Rem nodded her head again.

"Good. Now please go select your elective." The teacher said dismissing Rem.

Rem got up from her seat, and walked out of the classroom to meet up with Subaru. Subaru was standing there waiting for her.

Subaru sighed when Rem walked out. He didn't know what to say. Rem looked up at Subaru with a confused look on her face. She didn't understand what was happening.

"Rem, the teacher thought you were trying to be funny by intentionally giving him the wrong answer." Subaru said as Rem walked closer to him.

"But I wasn't Subaru,'' Rem said. Subaru nodded his head.

"I know Rem, but he doesn't know. I wouldn't answer any of his questions for a while. Anyways let's go choose an elective" Subaru said. Rem nodded her head in agreement, and the two walked. They walked down to the crowded billboard near the entrance and looked at all the different electives they could choose from.

Since Subaru and Rem were arriving late. All the electives were pretty much filled. They only had a select few to choose from. Subaru walked up with Rem and began looking at all the electives. Some of them caught Subarus eye, but not many.

"3D animation could be fun. Actually that might be too hard for you Rem" Subaru said as he continued to eye the papers on the billboard.

A certain elective caught Rem's eye. She immediately pointed to the paper on the billboard.

"Oh Subaru! Let's do food studies!" Rem said enthusiastically. A giant smile grew on Subarus face. He knew that class was not going to be a challenge.

"Good idea, Rem. I like your thinking" Subaru said. He put their names down on the paper. Subaru guided Rem away from the bill bored and out of the building. Everyone was free to go home from the day

When they exited the building, Subaru looked over to Rem with a smile on his face. He was glad Rem had successfully made it through her first day.

"So how was your first day Rem?" Subaru asked

"My first day was great, Subaru. Though Science and History are really difficult. The other classes seem fine, '' Rem said with a smile on her face.

"Do think you are more comfortable now that you got the first day over with," Subaru said

"Rem was very nervous at first, but as the day went on it got easier," Rem responded.

"So are you ready for tomorrow" Subaru asked.

"Yes" Rem responded confidently.
