Dean slammed the brakes. A huff of hot air in the midst of his car's cab, frigid with rain. He'd missed him, he knew that. But this? Conjuring him in the middle of the street?!

"STOP!" It still echoed in his ears. The voice was frantic. It echoed in the night on some obscure highway outside Seattle.

That was his baby brother standing in the middle of a long, dark highway, soaked to the bone.

That was his baby brother that was supposed to have been at college, as he'd known him to be for the last two years.

"Stop! You have to stop!" He is waving his hands, beckoning the car to turn around, go back.

Dean leaped out of his car, barely applying the brake, and feeling it rock back and forth as it jerked to a stall. He stumbled into the silent highway.

"Sam!" The shout echoed into oblivion.

Sam stood shivering, panting. When he saw Dean, the terror in his eyes turned to tears, looking back at what could only be saving grace.

With the falling out the Winchester family had, this was the last look Dean had ever expected on Sam's face.

"Dean!" Sam ran to Dean before Dean had time to process this was happening, blinking in the headlights. Sam threw his arms around him sobbing.

"I saw! I saw everything! I saw everything he plans to do!" Sam was bawling.

"What the Hell, Sammy? Who are you talking about?" Dean shook his head, hauling Sam back by his shoulders to look at him, see if he was hurt.

"The yellow-eyed demon!" Sam gasped.

It was 2004. Sam was talking about someone Dean would not know the name of for another year at least.

"What? Sam, how the Hell did you get here? You're supposed to be in Palo Alto!" Dean was shaking.

Sam heaved a heavy breath like he'd be sick.

"I saw him, y-yellow eyes...Yellow eyes..."

Sam passed out, a sodden mess dangling like a ragdoll now in the arms of the big brother he'd not spoken to in two solid years.

Dean hauled Sam back to his car. He sat in the soaked cab with Sam shivering unconcious and whimpering beside him for a full 15 minutes attempting to process this.

Then, he drove him to a hospital.
