Chapter 17 Grove of Darkness

It was night time in Ever After but something dark was approaching the Wonderland Grove, a shadow appears moving around the trees and then it goes underground, then Wonderland Grove starts to wilt and something grows out of it.

Next day the sounds of screams from Lizzie, Kitty and Maddie were heard since they have seen what's happening to Wonderland grove.

"What's happening to the Grove."Maddie said looking around.

"What could be making it die."Lizzie said.

"Were going to loose the last bit of home."Kitty said.

"I'm going to get help."Maddie then runs off.

"Hurry Maddie."Lizzie said.

Later Maddie called the group of Raven, Cerise, Briar, Apple, Dexter, Daring, Cedar, Ryu and the duelists to follow her and said:"Hurry the blossoms are heading for doom."

"Translation there is definitely something wrong."Raven said to Cerise.

Maddie made a symbol of a hat on a bush to reveal Wonderland Grove and saw that it was dying making them gasp and Kitty and Lizzie where there.

"What happened to Wonderland Grove it's usually so wonderish."Apple said.

"This part of the Enchanted Forest is our link to Wonderland."Kitty said scared.

"And it's the source of all magical madness in this world."Maddie said.

"So, if the Grove is losing its magical madness, are you saying our world will lose its magic too?"Briar said.

"But Ever After...is all about magic."Cedar said.

"But who could have done this."Ryu said while holding Kotaro.

They heard a chuckle and the voice said:"A long time Ryu."

"What?"Ryu said and he looks back to see a shadow rise from the ground revealing Trueman."Trueman!"

"Impossible."Chazz and the duelist got shocked.

"He's alive."Reiji said.

"But he's gone."Alexis said.

He smirks at them with the girls of Ever After nervous.

His darkness. Raven was sweating. It's way too strong.

"Ryu do you know him?"Apple asked.

"Yes, it's a old enemy, were you the one that sent those Orichalcos soldier's?"Ryu asked.

Trueman smirks and said:"Of course, in order to destroy this world we needed a new power so the Orichalcos is now ours."He summons a duel disk."Now you know what must be done."

Ryu turns on his duel disk while putting Kotaro down.

"Big bro."Kotaro tried to go to him but Raven caught him.

"We'll help too."Ruri said and the others prepared to duel Trueman.

"I don't think so, I activate Seal of Orichalcos."Trueman activated it making the seal appear and seperates the others from Ryu.

"Ryu!"The others said.

"Don't worry I can take him on."Ryu got ready.

"Now since it's my turn I now summon Infernal Dragon."Infernal Dragon appeared roaring before the seal gave it power. 2000 - 2500 atk.

"Then I play Double Summon, with this I can summon another monster like Spear Dragon."Spear Dragon appeared. 1900 - 2400 atk.

"I set a face down and end my turn."Trueman sets a card.

"I hope Ryu can take him down."Alexis said.

"Trueman isn't someone to take lightly."Reiji said.

"But he can beat him, he defeated those other monsters"Briar said.

"It's not that easy, Trueman is more dangerous than those other soldiers."Reiji said.

"Now my turn."Ryu draws."I now play pot of greed, now I draw two more cards, then I play three cards, Six Samurai United, Gateway of the Six and Shien's Dojo."All three cards appeared."Then I summon Mizuho."Mizuho came. 1600 atk. 1 counter.

"Then I can summon Shinai since she's here."Shinai appeared. 1500 atk. 2 counters.

"Now I activate gate, I take the counters from it, United and Dojo to add a monster from my deck to my hand."He then searches a card."Like Grandmaster of the Six Samurai." Dojo 1, Gate 0, United 1.

"Now I will link summon."Ryu the points to the sky."Appear, the circuit that leads to the future!"A link portal opened, he then jumps inside it."Arrowheads confirmed! The summoning conditions are two monsters. I set the Mizuho and Shinai in the Link Markers!"Both monsters jumped to the arrows."Circuit combine! Link Summon!"then the portal activated."Appear now, Link 2 Battle Shogun of the Six Samurai!"the Shogun appeared on the field. 1000 atk. Dojo 2, Gate 1, United 2.

"Then his effect allows me to discard a card to add another card that add Bushido counters, like Temple of the six."He adds the card."Then I activate it."The card appears

"Then I summon Grandmaster."Grandmaster appeared. 2100 atk. Temple 1, Dojo 3, Gate 2, Shogun 1, 1000 - 1700 atk.

"Now Temple takes 100 attack from each of your monsters."Both dragons got weaker. 2400. 2300 atk.

"Now I activaye United, I can send it to the graveyard to draw two cards."He sends it and draws again."Now I activate one for one, I'll send a card to special summon Fuma."Fuma appeared. 100 atk. Temple 2, Dojo 4, Gate 3, Shogun 2, 1700 - 2200 atk. 2400 - 2300. 2300 - 2200 atk.

"Now I tune my Grandmaster with Fuma."Both monsters jumped."Spread those wondrous and beautiful wings. Strike down our enemies at light speed! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!"Clear Wing dragon appears roaring. 2500 atk.

"Alright."Dexter said.

"Clear Wing."Cerise said.

"Now Clear Wing attack."Clear Wing charges foward.

"I activate Negate attack."Trueman stops the dragon."Now you can't attack."

Ryu grunts and sets a card."I set a card and end my turn."

Ryu 0 cards

"All that for nothing."Raven said.

"This can't be."Apple said.

"My turn draw."Trueman draws and smiles."I now play Raigeki."Then all of Ryu's monsters got destroyed shocking him."Now attack."Infernal Dragon goes first blasting Ryu. Ryu 1700 LP.

Ryu was on his knee and Kotaro cries."Big bro!"

Spear Dragon goes towards him."I play Counter Gate."The trap activates stopping the dragon."I negated your monster and now I can draw and if it's a monster."Ryu closes his eyes before drawing, he then smiles surprising Trueman."I now summon Legendary Six Samurai Enshi."Esnhi appears taking out his sword. 1700 atk. Temple 3, Dojo 5, Gate 4. 2300 - 2200. 2200 - 2100 atk.

"That's it."Trueman said."Well I end my turn."Infernal Dragon got destroyed surprising some of them."Since my dragon attacked he gets destroyed but I can sacrifice Spear Dragon to bring him back."Spear Dragon vanishes for Infernal Dragon.

"It's my turn draw."Ryu draws."I now play card of demise, with this now I can draw until I have five cards."Ryu draws five cards."And now I play Dojo's effect, by sending it to the graveyard I can special summon a monster from my deck, like Zanji."Zanji appears. 1800 atk. Temple 4, Gate 5.

"Now I summon Kageki."Kageki appeared. 400 atk. Temple 5, Gate 6.

"His effect now allows me to summon another monster from my deck to my fiend, like Six Samirai Irou."Irou appeared. 1700 atk. Temple 6, Gate 7.

"And now Gate's, by sending the counters from temple I can now summon Great Shogun Shien."Shien then appeared. 2500 atk.

"What's the point of that, you just gave my monster his attack back."Trueman said.

"I now activate Enishi's effect."Ryu said.

"What?!"He got shocked.

"By banishing two cards from my graveyard I can now send your monster back to your hand."Enishi shines his sword making the dragon roar before it vanished."Now attack."All the monsters charged foward attacking Trueman.

Trueman 0 LP!

The seal vanished along with Trueman turning into darkness.

Ryu falls to one knee and the others went to his side.

"Are you okay sarge?"Hassleberry said.

"Yeah I'm good."Ryu said.

"Oh man that guy was never easy."Syrus said.

"We need to keep an eye out since he came back."Kite said.

They then saw the garden start to recover.

"It was Trueman's darkness."Akiza said.

"It was infecting the area."Ruri said.

"Well let's help Ryu back to his room."Theodore said as he picked him up along with Hassleberry to take him away.

Raven takes Kotaro and they others followed them, they just found a potential enemy and a dangerous one in that, which makes the others ready for when he comes back.

Note:Yes Trueman is here, one of the final enemies of GX, he also made major damage to Ryu and almost won if Ryu didn't get Enishi out.
