Chapter 18 Duelists locked in battle

After the battle with Trueman Baba Yaga told Ryu to rest but did he listen to her.

"I wonder how Ryu is doing?"Raven said walking with Maddie.

"Oh I'm sure he's fine."Maddie said.

They arrived at the door and saw Ryu come out with Kotaro on his arms who was sleeping.

"Ryu, did they let you out?"Raven asked.

"Huh, oh no I'm leaving."He said.

"What, are you nuts."Raven said.

"Nope, got bored so I needed to go and have fun."Ryu said."Plus Kotaro got tired."

Kuriboh then appears to touch Kotaro's cheek making him move on his sleep.

"Okay, but we're keeping on eye on you."Raven said.

They went out and they saw Ashlynn and Hunter at the fountain looking at they're decks.

"Hey guys."Ryu said and they looked at them.

"Oh hey Ryu."Hunter said.

"So hows it going?"He asked.

"Well me and Hunter are trying to see how we can play the game better."Ashlynn said.

"By looking at the decks, that's not how you do it, you must duel."Ryu grins.

"Okay, against who?"Hunter asked.

"How about a handicap one, you two against me."Ryu points at himself.

"What?!"They got surprised.

"Are you insane now?!"Raven asked.

"Nope, hold Kotaro for me."He gives her Kotaro.

"What's going on here?"Crowler came.

"Professor, Ryu wants to duel us after he dueled the last day."Ashlynn said.

Crowler facepalms."Again, are you trying to kill yourself?"

"Nope."He said.

"Well, what's it going to be a normal duel?"Crowler said.

"No, in fact do you have any Solid Vision with mass machines?"Ryu smirks.

"You want a Action Duel?!"Crowler got mad.

"A what?"Hunter said confused.

"Come on, it will be good learning experience for them."Ryu said.

"Fine."Crowler goes off making the others confused.

Crowler came and sets up the device making many come.

"A action duel?"Reiji said.

"Well looks like the sarge is dueling them."Hassleberry said.

"Yeah, he's suicidal."Chazz said.

"Hey guys good timming, let us do the chant together."Ryu said.

"Theres a chant?"Raven said.

"What?"Chazz got surprised.

"Well let's do it."Syrus said.

'Duelists locked in battle!"Ryu said.

"Kicking the earth and dancing in the air alongside their monsters!"Syrus said.

"They storm through this field!"Hassleberry, Chazz and Akiza said.

"Behold! This is the newest and greatest evolution of Dueling!"Ruri said.

ACTION DUEL!

Ashlynn 4000 LP 5 cards

Hunter 4000 LP 5 cards

VS

Ryu 8000 LP 5 cards

Then the field changed to a circus area with many balloons and trampeze points with cards appearing around the area.

The Ever After students got surprised and Maddie said:"Wowy, I want to do that."

"Now here are the rules."Crowler said."In a Action Duel there are cards that can be used, they are either spells that can help you or traps that can hinder you."

"Yes, now."Ryu looks at his opponents."It's your guys turn, we can't attack in the first turn."

"Oh okay."Ashlynn looks at her hand."I summon Naturia Horneedle."Horneedle appeared. 1800 atk.

"I end my turn."Ashlynn said.

Ashlynn 4 cards

"My turn."Hunter draws."I summon Raidraptor Vanishing Lanius."Lanius appeared. 1300 atk.

"Then his effect allows me to summon another Raidraptor."Then Another Lanius came."And his effect allows me to summon a third one."A third Lanius appeared."I end my turn."

Hunter 3 cards

"My turn."Ryu draws."I now summon Six Samurai Zanji."Zanji came. 1800 atk.

"Then I set two facedowns and end my turn."He sets two cards

Ryu 3 cards

"My turn."Ashlynn draws."I sacrifice Horneedle to summon Naturia Stag Beetle."Horneedle vanished and was replaced with Stag Beetle. 2200 atk.

"Now attack."He goes towards Zanji.

Ryu then jumps over to a trapeze rope and swings on it, he then catches a card.

"Action card, Evasion."Zanji jumps over Stag.

"What?"She got surprised.

"Evasion is a card that allows me to negate your attack."Ryu said and he jumps back to his side.

"Oh, I end my turn."Ashlynn said.

"I want to play this game so much."Maddie said.

"My turn."Hunter draws."I now play United we stand to give my Lanius a boost."The first Lanius got stronger. 3700 atk.

"Attack."Lanius attacked Zanji destroying him. Ryu 6100 LP

"Now go get him guys."His other monsters charged at Ryu.

"I activate a facedown, defense draw."A barrier pushes one Lanius back and he jumps to a balloon."Now I get to draw a card."He draws.

He then gets a card and Hunter said:"Oh no you don't"He jumps to one of his birds backs and flies to a card."Got it."The card then explodes on his face. Hunter 3200 LP.

"Oh, too bad you got a trap."Ryu plays a card and it was evasion making him dodge the bird.

"I end my turn."Hunter rubs his face while putting a facedown.

Hunter 2 cards

"My turn."Ryu draws."I now play monster Reborn to Bring back Zanji."Zanji appeared."Now I summon the tuner monster Fuma."Fuma came jumping around. 200 atk.

"Now I tune them together."Both monsters jumped up."Mighty samurai of the past, hear my call, show them the power of a Shogun and the might of a legend, Synchro summon, appear level 5 Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En!"Shi En came lifting his sword up. 2500 atk.

"Now."He jumps around the ropes and grabs a card."First card is the Double Attack to double my monsters power." Shi En 2500 - 5000 atk.

"5000!"Hunter said with both him and Ashlynn shocked.

"Attack."His monter slashed the stronger Lanius. Hunter 1900 LP.

Ryu then caught another card."Action spell, Wonder Chance now Shi En can attacka again."His Samurai looks at Ashlynn who got shocked and she runs to find a card.

Shi En goes after her monster and che caught a card."I play choice choice to make the damage half."Her monster got destroyed. Ashlynn 2600 LP.

"Not bad, I set a card and end my turn."Ryu sets the card.

Shi En 5000 - 2500 atk.

Ryu 2 cards

"Why didn't Ryu negate the spell?"Raven said.

"He let her play it to survive."Reiji said surprising them.

"It's like this, Ryu wants to give them a chance to try Action Duel."Syrus said making them understand.

"My turn."She draws and smiles."I summon Naturia Pumpkin."Her Pumpkin appeared. 1400 atk.

"Now since you have a monster I can now summon another Naturia monster from my hand, like Naturia Vein."Vein appeared smirking. 200 atk.

"Now I tune them together."Both monsters jumped and di the synchro summon."Synchro summon, appear level 5 Naturia Beast."Beast appeared roaring 2200 atk.

"Now Hunter it's your turn."She said.

"Thanks Ash."He then draws."I now play call of the haunted."He then summons his Vanishing Lanius that got destroyed."Now I overlay all three of my birds."They all got into the portal."Obscured falcon, raise your claws sharpened by adversity! Spread your wings of rebellion! Xyz Summon! Come forth! Rank 4! Raidraptor - Rise Falcon!"Rise Falcon came. 100 atk. 3 OU.

"Now I detatch one unit to have gain the attack of your monster."Rise Flacon got stronger. 2600 atk.

"Now attack."Falcon goes to attack Shi En.

Ryu gets a card from a balloon."Big escape."

"Beast's effect, now I can send the top two cards from my deck to negate that card."Ashlynn said and his action spell got destroyed.

Rise Falcon destroyed Shi En. Ryu 6000 LP.

Hunter looks at Ashlynn and she nods."Now Beast attack him directly."Beast slashes Ryu. 3800 LP.

"We end out turn."They said.

Ryu smirks and crosses his arms."I'm impressed, you both managed to stop Shi En, but you stand no chance, no chance in hell."They got confused."My turn."He draws."I now play Dark Hole."His card appeared.

"Beast."But then a chalice pours it on beast. 2600 atk.

"What?!"Then both monsters got sucked in.

"Forbidden Chalice, I chained the effect to your monster stopping it, now I play Card of Sanctity, now we both draw until we have 6 cards."They all drew six cards."Now I play take over 5, to send the top five cards from my deck to the grave, now it's all set, I now summon Legendary Six Samurai Kageki."Kageki appeared. 200 atk.

"Now his effect allows me to summon another monster from my deck like Six Samurai Kamon."Kamon appeared. 1500 atk.

"Now I will link summon."Ryu the points to the sky."Appear, the circuit that leads to the future!"A link portal opened, he then jumps inside it."Arrowheads confirmed! The summoning conditions are two monsters. I set the Kamon and Kageki in the Link Markers!"Both monsters jumped to the arrows."Circuit combine! Link Summon!"then the portal activated."Appear now, Link 2 Battle Shogun of the Six Samurai!"the Shogun appeared. 1000 atk.

"Now I activate my trap Backs to the Wall."The trap activates."Now I pay life points until I have 100."Ryu 100 LP.

"That much."Raven said with most surprised.

"But now I can special summon as many of my samurais as I can."He then takes out five cards from the grave."I summon Zanji, Shi En, Fuma, Kamon and Hatsume."The five monsters appeared.

"Now attack."They all charged at Hunter.

Hunter runs and grabs a card."I activate evasion."

"Shi En's effect."Ryu said and he negated the spell making Shi En slash Hunter. Hunter 0 LP.

"Hunter."Ashlynn then saw the other monsters go towards her and she goes to a rope and takes a card."I activate Big Escape to end the battle phase."Then all the monsters stopped.

"I'm safe."She said.

"Oh no your not, go my face down."His last card reveals it self."The Six Shinobi and now your turn is skipped."

"What?!"She got shocked.

"He can do that?"Raven said.

"Duh."Chazz said."Six Shinobi needs six monsters of different attributes and he set it all up."

"Now."Ryu draws."It's time to show everyone another of my dragons, I tribute Fuma and Kamon."Both monsters turned to sparkles."Appear! Wondrous and beautiful dichromatic eyes! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"Odd-Eyes appeared roaring. 2500 atk.

"Wowy."Maddie said.

"Now attack."Ryu said and Odd Eyes blasted Ashlynn with Shi En's help ending the duel.

Ashlynn 0 LP.

"We lost."Hunter said and the field vanished.

"It's okay guys."Ryu said."You did your best but I'm just a whole other league."

"Well, still thanks for this lesson."Ashlynn said.

Maddie then hugs Ryu from behind."Please teach me the chant and how to play action duels."

"Hey!"Crowler got offended since he's the teacher.

"Don't worry I'll show it to everyone."Ryu said and they all cheered.

And so a new game style was introduced with it being fun to many of then.

Note:Ashlynn and Hunter dueled for the first time and Action Duels are introduced, hope you enjoyed it.
