Reclamation Arc, Chapter 2: A Bleak Return
Lith, Earth
6 hours after the Liset was shot down
Cr-crack!
The last of the Grinner guarding the forward base fell, four perfect holes embedded in the white visor protecting its vatborn flesh. Behind him, numerous Lancers, Butchers, and even some Seekers were laid out on the ground or slumping against a wall, some bearing perfect cauterized holes, some with various bullet wounds, and some with their throats slit.
Louise stood up from her crouched position, Sybaris Prime smoking from its recent discharge. Ejecting the wheel magazine from the gun, she slung the empty weapon on her back and drew out her Sicarus Prime before carefully walking into the camp, Carrier Prime following her. The drone warbled as it stopped at the corpse, floating towards the Grakata lying on the ground and its ammunition before sucking the ammunition up, its light dimming as it converted the SMG rounds to the ammunition used with the pink-haired Tenno's lever-action rifle. Leaving the drone, Louise wandered further into the camp, pistol at her side.
She ended up with a mix of Grakatas, Krakens, Cleavers, assorted ammo, equipment, rations, and a Grinner travel pack that was definitely superior to the satchel she had salvaged in the short time she had when her ship crashed. Opening the pack, she quickly threw in a good amount of the Grakata ammo and attached one of the Grinner SMGs to the left side of the pack, sliding her empty Sybaris Prime onto the right side of the pack. She also threw in a few Plasma Grenades and Latchers; she had no idea how to use a Blunt, and even if she did, it was too unwieldy for her to be carrying around. Enough rations for a week went in the pack as well before Louise sealed up the pack and slung it on her back.
By the time she returned, her Carrier Prime had finished its task and was hovering over a small pile of the magazines used in her Sybaris Prime, whereas the dropped ammunition from the dead Grinner was noticeably absent. Gently rubbing the drone's chassis, she collected all but one of the circular magazines and stored them in her satchel. Placing her pistol down, the Tenno detached the lever-action burst rifle from her newly acquired pack and slid the magazine home. With a click, she sheathed her Sicarus Prime, cradling her Sybaris Prime as she stood up, her drone following her. 'Umbra, position?' she mentally inquired.
'Close. Ten minutes.'
'That's good. Stay low and stay safe. We have no idea where the rest of the Sentient force could be. I'll be staying in a-'
An odd blue wave pulse over her, followed by an odd warbling sound. Louise cursed. 'Change of plans. Get here as soon as possible. I'm severely compromised.'
'Anticipation. Moving.'
Louise ran back into the camp, whistling for her Carrier Prime to follow her. She had barely reached the small storage hut, turned around, and leveled her Sybaris when the first Sentient Battalyst floated into her line of sight, cannon at the ready. With no other choice, her finger slammed down on the trigger and her rifle bucked slighty, the sharp cr-crack! typical of the Sybaris filled the air.
Ten minutes. She had to hold out for ten minutes. Louise cocked her rifle's lever, ejecting the empty cartridges as the magazine rotated. Flashes of light alerted her to the arrival of more Sentients. She stirred up her Void, a blue-white light emitting from her as the Sentient recovered, its left cannon brought up to bear.
Louise fired again, all four rounds smashing into the core of the Sentient. The Battalyst fell like a rock.
9 minutes, 50 seconds.
More Sentients flowed in like an unstoppable tide. Louise slung her Sybaris Prime and stood up, pink eyes glowing with the power of the Void as it danced to her will. "Alright then," she snarled, amp glowing brightly. "If you don't want to line up one by one and die peacefully, I'll just shatter you all!" She fired a beam, Void light searing and shattering the charging Sentients as their desperate, futile attempts to evade or block their immediate doom came to absolutely nothing. The beam homed in on each and every charging Sentient, disintegrating them as Louise poured in Void energy.
Louise shut off the beam after a few seconds, revealing the remains of 10 Battalysts and Conculysts... and countless more coming in. Her arm came up, hand already glowing with Void energy as she diverted more and more of her reserves into her amp. She ignored the growing heat in her arm, collateral was unimportant right now. She needed to survive until Umbra came.
9 minutes, 32 seconds.
An irrational burst of hatred welled up in her. "Come on!" she screamed, Void surging around her as the otherworldly energy responded to her emotion.
They rushed in like an unstoppable wave, weapons raised. She stood tall to meet them, firing off a burst of Void bombs to meet the charge.
It ran as fast as it could.
Muscles bunched as it leapt through the trees, fragile branches shattering against its bioenginnered armor. Once, it found its new body purely a source of shame, for with its hands it had killed Issah. That memory had haunted it continually, only fueling its hatred, its sorrow, its suffering.
But now, there was another person who understood its pain. Who had stood by it as it relived its worst memories, who chose to bear the burden of the memory with it, who possessed the courage and perseverance to stand against its wrath.
'"You're Umbra now. Just like the shadow I leave behind, so shall you be: always by my side."'
'"I'm Louise. Let's get along, partner."'
Louise.
It would help Louise.
It would not leave them to the Sentients.
Muscles bunched as it shot through the treeline, branches slapping ineffectively off of their body. The ground cratered with the sheer force of each step it took, trees blurring past its vision as it rushed. The bond was still strong, it could still feel their master-no, their Tenno- fighting as hard as they could, hot rage and determination mixing with cold anger and a calm trust. Trust that they would come.
And it would not betray that trust.
There. Movement. One of the Sentient machines, with cannons. It was headed towards a compound of sorts.
It didn't matter. It wOuLD dIE.
Greatsword in its right hand and Skiajati in its left, it rushed the machine with brutal force. The machine had no time to turn, it had faced these adversaries until its death at the hands of her, and it knew all of their tricks. Though how easily the greatsword cleaved through the machine did surprise it a bit; it had taken effort earlier during its earlier encounters with the Sentient machines.
it didn't matter though. Louise was first. Everything was secondary.
More and more Sentients appeared, rushing towards the compound. Umbra slipped past them, letting the cloak of Skiajati cover its body and tracks. As soon as it got to the compound though, it saw her.
Louise.
Alone against a tide of Sentients, many of them dead at her feet.
Her right arm showing sides of overload as she shot out a blast of blue-white energy at one a machine trying to flank her, her left arm continuously channeling Void into the amp as she continued to fight.
Even with her injuries, she stood tall, refusing to let pain or exhaustion show.
Continued to stand against impossible odds.
Continued to hold faith that Umbra would come.
And come it did.
A guttural howl, infused with the Void that it was bathed in, tore itself from its throat, manifesting as a shockwave of Void light that slammed into the Sentients, infecting their systems, stripping them of their vaulted resistances, paralyzing them with the Void's untamed wrath. It was on them in a second, blades flashing in time as they sank into metal and tore out cores. A few recovered, but a second scream was liable to put them out of action, at least until it got to them. Then they were permanently removed. Its master, to her credit, didn't even hesitate, swapping from Void grenades and beams to precise blasts and bolts of Void energy to injure and hinder oncoming reinforcements. And oh, did they come, relentless like the tides. But Operator and Warframe were not to be discouraged by the beams of light that herald their arrival.
No, instead, they met the charge head on, two against five hundred. With blade and Void, they crashed into the tidal wave of metal.
Together they fought against the Sentient hordes. It rushed toward Sentient groups, disrupting the accursed machines with its roar before butchering them with nikana and greatsword. Any stragglers or hidden Sentient machines were dispatched by Louise, bolts of her odd Void energy punching through their armor and cores like a shell slamming into wet paper. Even the small drone floating above them did its best, firing its mounted shotgun at incoming enemies. The ferocity of their opponents and endless bodies threatened to overthrow them as the fight dragged on, but finally the hordes trickled to a stop, leaving it alone with its master.
There was concern as Louise immediately dropped to her knees, gasping for air and gripping her right arm, which was not only glowing blue white, but had faint cracks running across the length of her forearm. "I'm fine, Umbra," she gasped, hissing in pain as she attempted to move her arm. "Ok, maybe not fine. Void damn it, this hurts." She turned to it, her glowing pink eyes muddled with pain and sorrow, yet still ready to fight. "Are you fine, Umbra?"
Affirmation. Concern.
"I should be, given enough rest."
Disbelief.
"Trust me. The same-ow, damn it!-thing happened to me a few months back, when I encountered Red Veil zealots a while back... and met that." Her eyes glazed over, before she shook her head violently side to side. "Never mind, we should-" Her eyes widened and she disappeared. At the same time Umbra felt Louise meld into him as Transference took hold, and they became one. Quickly, they ducked down-
And a sickeningly familiar blue-white beam shot past their head, completely obliterating the wall past them.
They turned towards the new threat and Umbra growled internally as they recognized what they were facing. It remembered that Sentient. How could it not?
That thing had took its life.
Then its chest opened up and shock, betrayal, and horror ran through them.
She knew that person there. How could she not? She almost didn't register herself slipping out of Transference until Umbra's arm stopped her from walking towards her.
"Are you well, child?" her mother's voice resounded in her head, matching the voice and tone of the woman who stood before her.
"Lotus... what have they done to you?" she exclaimed, hoping beyond hope that Umbra's memories were a mistake. That they had fused her mother in all but blood into that Sentient monstrosity.
But it was not to be, and they both knew it. Lotus-no, Natah's loving smile turned into a sad one as she opened her mouth. "Nothing. This...is who I am."
'Who I am. As if... as if Natah had been a... Sentient...' Suddenly, everything began to make sense for Louise, especially with Umbra's vast knowledge flowing into her mind. "You... you were a Sentient. Ballas brought you to the Orokin homeworld, so you could bring everything crashing down from the inside. You were the reason reports started disappearing, why our armies were positioned in the wrong planets, why our fleets were so easily destroyed, despite our efforts." Another thought occurred to her, and Umbra's grip on Skiajati tightened as rage flowed through her. "You were the reason that my siblings died. That's why Hunhow knew you. That's why Tenshin told me to drink the Kuva, warned me of trusting you. All along, you were one of them, playing all of us like fools."
Natah remained silent, just staring at her with that sad look. Louise's rage spiked. Was...was she pitying her?! "Tell me, Natah, through all of your coddling, did you actually care for us? Or were you just laughing behind our backs, just like the Orokin, mocking us for putting our trust in you?" Her voice broke, tears forming at the edge of her eyes. "Tell me... was all of it just a façade?!"
Natah stared back at her sorrowfully. "No. I loved you each as my own, and it hurt me greatly when each of you died. Or did you forget why I put you in the Dream?"
Louise gritted her teeth. She knew Umbra's link was influencing her emotions, knew that his memories were affecting how she normally thought or fought, but her heart could not bear the betrayal of her mother figure. Natah had practically raised her after the death of Margulis. She had safeguarded her in the Dream, helped guide and shape her throughout her time as a Tenno, and ultimately rescued her from the grasp of Hunhow and the Shadow Stalker. She was, for all purposes, her mother, and she had too many times heard the teasing of Darvo and Maroo as they needled her about that.
But had she been actually doing this out of the goodness of her heart?
Or was she simply hiding behind the trust and parental love that she had built up with her?
"What do you want, Natah?" she finally conceded tiredly, putting a slight emphasis on her actual name, trying to send a hidden message to the woman across from her. Judging by Natah's sorrow, she realized it too: By emphasizing her name, Louise had made her choice regarding their relationship. They were no longer Natah and Louise, the kindly woman who cared for the pink-haired Tenno, nor were they Lotus and Louise, the motherly figure who guided and supervised her on missions.
They were simply Sentient and Tenno, two weapons on opposite sides of a old war.
"The weapon," the Sentient stated. It took a moment before Louise realized that Natah meant the greatsword that she had procured from Ballas and had given to Umbra. "We have need of Paracesis; let us take the weapon and we will let you go." As if to punctuate her point, thousands of Sentients, including 5 godforsaken Eidolons, dropped down all around them. Umbra snarled, putting its back against Louise, but between Natah, the Eidolons, and the massive tide of Sentient machines that, compared with the exhausted, wounded Louise, both of them knew the outcome of just surviving, let alone somehow winning, were a thousand to one.
They were trapped.
Natah stretched out her hand. "If you would, Louise?"
Louise stared at the Sentient's hand, than back at Natah, before slightly tilting her head. Umbra, behind her, rumbled in discontent, but slowly removed the broadsword from its back. The Warframe presented the blade to the Sentient, who, with a unknown signal, had one of the Mimics float forward to take the weapon. One of its arm cannons dematerialized in order to take the greatsword from the seemingly placid Warframe.
But the pink-haired Tenno would not bow down to a Sentient.
"BEGONE!" Louise suddenly screamed as loud as she could, Void surging forward at her command.
The Mimic, at ground zero, was simply vaporized as the manifested Void surged outward from Louise, expanding into a destructive wave that surged forwards at a speed not dissimilar to Umbra's Radial Howl. But unlike the Warframe's stunning scream, the burst of blue-white light from Louise simply consumed all that stood in its path: trees, rocks, even the ground itself, and the surrounding Sentients were of no exceptions. Metallic screeching resounded as Void energy literally caused the machinery to implode, their cores collapsing under the otherworldly light.
Unfortunately for the duo, the ancient Sentient in front of her had expected the last-ditch attack and simply moved, floating out of range at a speed that Louise simply could not track. Moreover, Louise collapsed to the ground in pain, the reckless use of her entire body as a conduit causing more tears to open up on her flesh that bled Void energy. The eternally young teenager could do nothing but stare as Natah charged her cannon, Umbra moving in front in a futile attempt to block the attack.
The last time the Warframe had stood in front of the beam, the attack had utterly shattered him to the point that Louise had to reforge him using the Foundry system on her Liset.
Bitter tears filled the girl's eyes, even as she stared death in the face resolutely, Umbra with both blades posed to block the attack. No matter how hard she attempted to push them away, unwanted memories began to surge in front of her mind.
She was once again helpless.
Worthless.
Just like against the Shadow Stalker, the rogue Warframe gripping her by the throat, slowly squeezing the life out of her.
Just like against the Grinner Queens, feeling the Transference between her and her Nova Prime being forcefully cut off for the first time.
Just like watching Rell being exiled, her surrogate younger brother being led away despite her best attempts to keep him by her side.
She could nothing but watch as the Ancient Sentient aimed and fired.
And reality warped.
The world turned grey and green. Time slowed to an absolute crawl. The blast fired at Umbra and her stopped dead in its tracks before flying off, striking a Eidolon and taking off its head. Louise screamed as her scars split wider, the blue-white light emitting from them pulsing like a strobe light. She watched through pain-wrought eyes as the world itself began to flicker, like the static from those old movies, before she felt the faint sensation of falling. She felt, rather than saw or heard, Umbra following her, yet before she lost conciousness, she heard one last scream from the woman who betrayed her and the rest of the Tenno.
"THIS IS NOT OVER, TENNO!"
Then she hit the earth, pain overwhelmed her tired body, and Louise passed out, her eyes weeping for everything that happened.
Tristan Academy of Magic
Tristan, Halkeginia
"Alright, is everyone ready?" Professor Valliere called from her place in the circle.
Henrietta de Tristan nodded quietly, her hand on her wand steady. She watched as Headmaster Osmand and Professor Colbert give their assent as well, her free hand reaching up to grip her wand arm. It was a new tick she had developed over these past six months, used when she was particularly annoyed or nervous. She watched as the eldest of the Valliere children carefully place down a box in the center of the middle circle, then draw a symbol on the lid with her own blood before stepping back. After stepping back, the blonde took a deep breath. "I call upon the breath of the four winds."
The headmaster was next. "I call upon the mighty force of the winds."
Professor Colbert took a breath. "With divine fire I guide the lost home."
"And with the waters of time," she spoke, "I sooth their weary spirit."
"By this pledge we call the lost," they all spoke. "By these hands we return that which wanders fruitlessly. By our oath we swear to give a home to those who have lost their way." Sweat rolled down the princess's cheek. "By this ritual, we call for the named, with the catalyst that bind them: Louise de la Valliere, we, by the winds, by the earth, by the flames, by the waves, and by the divine Void that binds and consumes all, we call you home!"
There was dead silence for one moment. Two. The blonde-haired Valliere sighed. "Another bust. Sorry, Princess, for wasting your time."
Henrietta raised up a hand in response. "It's fine, Miss Valliere. You have put much effort these six months, it would be unfair to assume that it would work upon my arrival."
"I guess." Irritated, the blonde made to exit the circle. "Professor, could you show me the sources where-"
Her foot stepped on the edge of one of the sigils, smudging it.
And the world blazed with crimson light.
"Huh? Wait, it's-by the Founder!" the Headmaster yelped, falling to his knees as the magical array blazed ever brighter. Henrietta stumbled as willpower left her at an alarming pace, and she watched as Professor Colbert began to flag as well. With a gasp, Professor Valliere resumed her place in the ritual, and the Princess sighed as the drain lessened.
"It's working..." the woman said, stunned as the magical circles began to rise in the air. "By the Founder, it's working at last..." The woman sank to her knees, and Princess Henrietta was treated to the sight of the woman crying-Not that Henrietta would mock or feel pity for her about it. For the first time in six months, Eleonore de la Valliere was seeing the fruits of her work come to life, and she would see her youngest sister again.
Alive or dead.
The four watched as the array of circles reached its apex and the sky split open as a green-blue portal opened, slowly stretching itself open until it was almost seven feet in diameter. Contained inside the portal was a nexus of stars and the void beyond, the lights sparkling like the jewels that adorned the nobility during their parties and balls. The four mages watched, spellbound, as the edges of the circle began to glow, for softly, then brighter and brighter until it was pure white and they had to shade their eyes, lest they be blinded by its radiance.
Then from the portal, emerged Louise.
For a moment, Henrietta was spellbound by her friend's appearance as she appeared from the portal. Louise's pink hair seemed to glow as it reflected the portal's light. She was wearing a bodysuit of some sort, with a heavy-looking pack on her back and an odd gauntlet on her left arm. Weapons were secured on the packs and her hips, and by her side floated an odd gold and white familiar. A flying golem of sorts? She fell gently to the ground, the magic within the array gently floating her to the earth. For one moment, time seemed to have slowed to crawl for the Princess and her companions as they watched the scene.
"T̴̡̨̺̠̪̈́̐͒͆̀̾̀̚Ḫ̷̨̑I̶̬͎̱̙̩͈̻̔̓͒̽͑̄͗̃͝S̴̗̯̖͎̬̫͇̊ ̶̨͔̯͈̰̲̃̔̈́̈́̈̆̐̕͜Ì̵͖̈́̍̾͒͠S̵̰͙̗̘̦͖͓̔̂͒̎̔̉͆̔͜͝ ̶̡̮̠̞͔̻̼̰͎̝́̀̑̀̽̽̚͠Ň̶̛͇͈̱͐̕͘͠͝Ỏ̴͚̙̍̾̔̈́T̸̩̪͔͈͈̫̺̙̰̒̽ ̴̖͔͒͑̈̂͛̏̒̈͘͝Ơ̴͖̯̩̣̦̙͇̅̄̊́̂́͝ͅV̸̡͚͚̫̹͕̅͝E̶̹̤̝̯̣̥̪̳̳̎ͅR̴̥̖̙͐͑̈́,̷̛̖͒̔͒̈̌͑ ̷̡̘̫͑͋̉̔̕͝T̵̨̤̰͇͊̔̏͂̾̃͌̈́̚E̷̗̩̊̉͊̍̀Ǹ̵̼̥̤̺̮͍̄̍̅̑̒̒̋͘̕Ņ̶̬̭̙̣̳̤̠͙̓̒͒̋͑̿̊̀́͘Ö̸̡̨̜̤͔̖̩͕̪̈́̑͑͜!̷̧̻̱͕̪̤͖̬͔̠͐̀̓͘"
An unintelligible distorted scream tore across the area, causing everyone to cover their ears from the sheer volume. The array destabilized, causing Louise to hit the ground with a scream that immediately spurred Henrietta's heart into a blind panic. It was only now that she noticed the scars on Louise's hands, right arm and face, pulsating with a ethereal blue-white light that was almost blinding.
"LOUISE!" Eleonore screamed, running towards her sister-and missing a blur of grey that exited the portal.
Professor Colbert did not. "Miss Valliere, get back!" he yelled just before the figure hit the ground and kicked up a massive cloud of dust. With a quick blast of air, he cleared the cloud-and stood in shock as the figure was revealed.
It was massive, almost seven feet in length, clad in dark grey armor with gold trim, and black smoke seemingly emitting from its feet. Grey cloth hung from its neck as a scarf, and was tied around its waist like a loincloth. Many parts of the figure's body was trimmed with gold, in particular its helmet. A massive bow of unknown make was strapped to its back, as well as a pistol and an eastern sword on its hip, and a massive greatsword in its hand. Almost all of the equipment was white, with golden trim and accents.
As they watched, the figure snarled and lifted its greatsword, the massive blade apparently a non-factor to the figure itself. "Was it some kind of familiar?" Henrietta mused quietly. It stepped in front of Louise's body and settled into a stance, the flying golem floating next to its shoulder.
Its intent was clear.
'Come here and die.'
Timeline of Events (Old War):
Zariman 10-0 Incident: Louise appears aboard the Zariman Ten Zero when her attempts to force a spell pull her from Halkeginia to the Warframe!verse. The conflict between The Man In The Wall and her sealed Void Powers creates a surge of uncontrolled power that robs her of her memory and temporarily removes her ability to walk. She is found by Rell as he wanders the halls, and the two strike up a fast friendship. Louise and Rell stick together for the remainder of the time that the Zariman 10-0 is stranded. After the ship is found, Louise bonds closer with Rell and, when cast out by both children and the Orokin, develops antagonistic feelings and contempt for the rest of the Orokin society.
Settling In: Louise, along with the rest of the Ten-Zero children, are hidden away. Louise regains control of her legs as the Void damage heals, but also isolates herself from the rest of the children as many of the children judge her for both her relationship with Rell and her status as a foreigner. She is initially cold and hostile towards Margulis, but eventually warms up to her. Margulis is made aware of her fused Void powers and takes extra steps to help Louise control her powers, and Louise ends up meeting Ballas, who becomes intrigued with her unique powers and agrees to train her, and does so even after Margulis's execution.
The Old War: Louise becomes the first of the children to enter battle with a Warframe, and is given the Nova Prime Warframe to operate. She initially works as a solo operative, mainly focusing on Extermination and Sabotage missions against the Sentient forces, but ends up taking more diverse missions as the other children are given Warframes and join the fight. Because of the dual nature of her Void, Louise is eventually given a second Warframe of her choice to operate simultaneously, an Saryn, and spearheads the fight against the Sentients. Ballas gives her a Sicarus Prime as a present for her first solo mission, a weapon that Louise carries with her to the Dream.
Collapse: Natah infiltrates the Orokin with Ballas's help by impersonating Margulis. Louise encounters her, and though wary at first, warms up to her with Ballas's reassurance. Natah eventually becomes extremely close with Louise through their interactions, and begins to question if killing all of the Tenno is necessary.
Louise leads a group of Tenno to Uranus and faces off against the Sentient Hunhow, who has been pinned down by an Orokin fleet above the planet's waters. Louise manages to defeat Hunhow after ferocious combat, but is informed by the dying Sentient about the truth behind Margulis's disappearance. Alongside her squad and with help from Ballas, Louise investigates the Orokin Archives regarding that information, and upon accessing the information, becomes enraged. She leads the children and their Warframes over to Pluto, where they slaughter many of the Orokin Executors and Council members in retaliation for Margulis's death.
Natah is captured by the Orokin and reprogrammed to genuinely care for and love the children, turning her into the Lotus. As the Lotus, she becomes the mother figure of the Tenno and leads them in suppressing the last of the Sentients. The Stalker first manifests during a fierce battle in Eris, and though defeated by Louise in a one-on-one duel, continues to manifest sporadically and attack the Tenno until the Lotus sends the Warframes into cryosleep, and the children into the Dream. Louise is the last to enter the Dream, and her Nova Prime is laid to rest on Earth, where it remains until the start of the current timeline.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT I AM ALIVE!
To those who waited, I am so, so sorry for having you guys wait so long for an update. So many things happened in my life that caught me off guard and just threw it out of whack, Basic, AIT, a surprise deployment following AIT- it just came one after the other, like waves battering the rowboat that was me.
In addition, this chapter fought me hard. Writer's block, random plot bunnies, work, and just plain lack of motivation dogged me every step of the way, and even when I made progress, I would end up unsatisfied with it. I've scrapped the draft 5 times over because I just hated how it looked.
But I'm back. And hopefully this time I won't just drop off the face of the Earth.
Now, for relevant points:
As you can see from this chapter, Louise's Void is very... unique. The combination and union of her willpower and cosmic energy has made her into a sort of Void sleigh bunny: her resources recharge much faster, she outputs far more power, and she naturally absorbs the ambient Void energy from things like Void fissures. In exchange however, she has to regulate how much Void she takes in and outputs: if the scale tips at any point, she could poison herself or like in this chapter, the Void literally begins to tear her open from the inside out. Because of this, her Amp is special as well: unlike the normal ones which focus and amplify our Void beams into actual usable weapons, Louise's regulates and controls her Void powers so she doesn't overload.
Louise's Focuses are Zenurik as primary and Madurai as secondary. For non-Warframe players, that means Louise's fighting style specializes in battlefield control and enemy attrition, though she is just as adept at ambushing and devastating her opponents in frontline combat.
Louise is part of the Red Veil Syndicate, as an Exalted, in honor of Rell. Her bodysuit has the Assassin sigil printed on the back in bone white, and later on Louise will find a Rakta Dark Dagger and Rakta Cernos, just not now. Also, Louise's bodysuit is just the basic bodysuit, no Fashonframe here boys and girls.
I tried my best here to write an emotionally charged scene between Louise and Natah. Louise views Natah as a mother figure, perhaps even more so than the rest of the children due to her memories being completely destroyed upon arrival at Zariman 10-0. Louise was also close friends with Rell, which will affect the Chains of Harrow storyline when I cover it via Louise's memories.
In any case, stay alive, and stay tuned for the next chapter!
