Wow, sorry about the super long wait guys! It's been a crazy few months!

The Storm Part 2

"Hello, Elijah." Sabine turned to face him as he came up the street. "What can I do for you?"

"My family needs an ally. It seems a certain coven has gotten out of hand."

"Desmond Laurent?" She nodded seriously. "What has he done now?"

"He's created an undead army of witches. Some of which attacked my siblings and I just this very evening."

"I see." Elijah could hear nothing in her voice that reflected the surprise that lit up her eyes. She was well aware of the development, and it made him tense. "Well, perhaps there could be an alliance with us, as long as its with you. The noble Elijah." She smiled at him. "But there will never be true peace while your brother still reigns over the city."

"Is that what this has all been about? Getting my brother out of town?" His eyes narrowed.

"I'm just telling you how they feel." Sabine said simply, tilting her head. "And you have a niece on the way. It stands to reason you'd be willing to discuss running him out of town in favor of keeping her alive."

Elijah stuck fast as snake, hand around her throat as he slammed her against the brick wall of a nearby building.

"Let us not play games, Celeste."

She smiled wickedly. "How'd you know?"

"As Davina was drawing your likeness, I dared to imagine your presence was near. And when Sophie discovered that there was no magic in your remains, I wondered could you have possibly cheated death by using your power to place your essence into the body of another? And if so, who?" He sneered at her. "And then I recalled the lovely Sabine. Your vision of my niece precipitated the death of the last Elder within your coven. Ensuring that the Harvest ritual could not be completed unless you controlled it. You have been playing a long game indeed...to what end?"

She reached up and touched his face, then kissed him on the lips. Elijah staggered back, an odd sensation coursing through his body as he fell against the brick wall behind him. He was dizzy and Sabine's figure began to multiply and blur before his eyes.

"What have you done to me?" He gasped, falling to his knees in front of her.

"It's a simple enchantment." She smiled. "You needn't worry. I'm not here to kill you, Elijah." Thunder rumbled across the sky, loud and imposing. "I'm here to teach you the error of your ways."

"Why?" He asked, trying and failing to stand.

"Oh, Elijah, my lost love...after all this time. Don't you understand? I died because of Klaus. And even after all his vindictive lies about witches led to my death, you stood by him all because of your vow, "Always and Forever." Celeste said mournfully. "It's only fitting that I return the favor."

"You cannot kill, Niklaus." Elijah almost scoffed. "Others have tried and failed."

"No, perhaps not. But I can take something else away from him. His precious "Always and Forever"."

Elijah frowned. He was losing focus, Celeste's form blurring in front of him.

"You see, your family is going to be picked off one by one. You'll have to choose who to save. Your dear younger brother, Kol? Lovely Rebekah? Your beloved Katherine? Niklaus, perhaps? Saving sweet little Jane is a lost cause. I wouldn't bother trying."

"What do you mean?" He snapped, blinking rapidly to keep his vision straight.

"Yes, that poor girl. Her fate was sealed the moment she met your brother and it awakened her werewolf side." Celeste murmured. "Set the wheel in motion. I convinced Sophie and Jane-Anne to get Klaus here. That he'd bring the elemental with him and lo, he did. Right in the heart of the city that will bury her alive as it did so many of her ancestors. I have friends who have been waiting so long for this moment. Years searching for the last elemental."

Elijah saw someone enter his peripheral vison and he turned his head. A man he didn't recognize stood next to Celeste.

"That I have. Shame really, that she's so young."

He instantly knew who the man must be. The witch, Desmond Laurent.

"Leave her be." He snapped, trying and failing to stand once more. The effort left him gasping on the ground and blacked his vision momentarily. "What reason could you possibly have to go after Jane?"

"What reason indeed?" He smirked and moved closer to him, ignoring his warning growl. "Didn't you wonder who gave me that powerful spell to bring back the dead? Suggested it, even?"

"Why, Celeste?" He groaned.

"Power, Elijah." She said snippily. "Jane's blood holds so much more than mere vampires or lesser witches can see. The star elemental can control the very nature around us. Enough of her blood would last us a long while."

"No."

"I'd worry more about your siblings, Elijah. With her protection dwindling, she'll be a lost cause. She and the child, actually. I really doubt your brother could save them both." Desmond shrugged.

"I could care less for it actually."

Elijah felt his head spin more and his vision began to darken. Celeste smiled at him and then he was in complete darkness. The last thing he heard was loud, earthshaking thunder.

Klaus cupped Jane's cheek, frowning at the trickle of blood on the girl's forehead.

"Tunde is dead." He said to Dorian as he took the offered wet cloth from his hand. "This shouldn't be happening."

"You killed him?"

"No. Another witch we suppose." The Original Hybrid's frown deepened and wiped the blood from Jane's face. "Rebekah and Marcel are looking into it now."

"Heard from Elijah?"

"No." He said, simply. It was worrying, but he had to focus on Jane at the moment. Mona had informed him of her collapse, and he was confused as to why she was having this rection with Tunde dead. Jane remained motionless. He looked at the werewolf woman now.

"Do you know what's happening to her?"

Mona frowned. "Not really. she could be sensing something."

"Something as in what?" He asked warily.

"Beyond us."

"What does that mean?" Dorian asked, scowling at his aunt. "Is she okay? Will she wake up?"

"She's the elemental Dorian," Mona sighed. "She's connected to so many magics."

Patting her face again, Klaus felt her move beneath his fingers and glanced down at her once more.

"Jane?"

Dorian and Mona glanced over.

Klaus sighed with relief when Jane's eyes fluttered open.

"My love."

The girl moaned softly, blinking rapidly, and met Klaus' worry filled eyes.

"Klaus?" She frowned in confusion.

He smiled wanly at her. "Yes. Do you remember what happened?"

"I was on the back porch..." She trailed off, eyes widening as she recalled her vision. She gasped and tried to move, but he kept her from fleeing his arms.

"Careful, love."

"Klaus, the baby."

"Is fine, sweetheart. She's just fine." He cupped her face, but Jane was shaking her head. He frowned. "Jane. The baby is fine, love."

Her eyes widened in panic. "No. You don't understand. She won't be unless we stop Laurent."

Klaus frowned. "What did you see?"

Tears pooled in her eyes and he grew alarmed.

"She-she...Oh, Klaus it's so horrible." Jane started sobbing and he drew her into his chest, stroking her hair.

"Nothing's going to happen to her, love. I promise you that."

"I couldn't help her, Klaus. There was pain and I was alone. No one was around."

Klaus wasn't sure what to say, Jane was upset and rightly so, but he knew her visions were mostly true. Not all the time did they come to fruition. There was a chance that it wouldn't happen at all. His arms tightened around her as she buried her face into his chest.

"I won't let anyone harm her. Or you." He said in her ear. "Neither will my siblings. Nor Marcel. Even your friends here." She nodded, taking a shuddering breath to calm herself. She still felt a panic. A deep one that she couldn't shake. This vision terrified her beyond all reason.

Josh wrinkled his nose. "Is there something leaking? I smell...gasoline." He said aloud and Jane looked at him in alarm. Klaus frowned as well.

"So do I." Jackson said from the couch. "It's strong." He headed for the back of the house and the vampire followed him. Klaus and Dorian both looked at the werewolves. Their Hybrid senses were picking up the scent as well and they tensed.

"It's worse out here." Hayley stated, waving a hand in front of her nose, and stepped further out in the porch. Most of the werewolves were looking around too for the source of the smell. Oliver suddenly spat and gagged, wiping at his mouth.

"It's the rain." He announced and everyone tensed.

Jane felt a sense of foreboding. "Jackson, I think that-" As she spoke thunder rumbled across the sky and seconds later a flash of lightning lit up the backyard. The house went dark as the electricity flickered out.

"I don't like this." She said uneasily, her hand finding Klaus' sleeve in the darkness. He stroked her hair, frowning at the outside. "I think everyone should get out of the rain."

Jackson nodded in agreement and whistled to his friends.

In the next second, things went horribly wrong.

A bolt of lightning flashed before their eyes hitting one of the many apple trees in the backyard. It instantly burst into flames from the amount of gasoline-soaked leaves and fire flared up so brightly that those outside had to shield their eyes. Then there were screams. Two werewolves were now alight from the flaming tree, not safe from the gasoline rain.

Jane cried out in horror as trails of fire began snaking across the grass, the flames warring with the hiss of rain, only to the flare up from the contents of the rain. Tree after tree lit up and more and more werewolves were running toward the house to get away from the flames. She buried her face into Klaus' chest and he stared at the scene before him with a furrowed brow.

Jane's phone rang and she hurriedly pressed it to her ear.

"Elijah?"

"Jane-"

"Elijah, there's something horrible happening. I think the witches are trying to mess with the werewolves." She rapidly explained to him what was happening.

"Where is Niklaus?"

"He's here with me. Where are you? Why do you sound so strange?"

Klaus took the phone from her before he could respond and she scowled at him. "Where is Celeste? Tell me you disposed of her."

"Celeste?" Jane asked, eyes widening as her scowl disappeared.

"Listen to me, Niklaus, get out of that house right now. I'm afraid that-"

There was a loud bang and Jane went to look in the hallway.

Jackson was trying to open the front door.

"Jackson?"

He looked at her. "The doors are stuck." He said and jerked on them harder.

"So are the windows." Dorian grunted from the other side of the room. Hayley, who outside tapping on the glass, looked panicked. She and a few of the other werewolves hadn't been quick enough to get inside. Oliver was still outside as well and kept trying to break the glass on the doors and the windows.

Jane could smell the smoke now. Flames had reached the porch, instantly lighting up the soaked wood.

"Oh my god..." She whispered and looked at Klaus who was pacing.

"What's she done?" He snarled into the phone

"Niklaus!" Elijah said loudly, obviously the signal was bad. "What's happening?"

"We can't get out of the house...Someone spelled the doors. Celeste, I assume?" He said dryly, glancing at his pregnant fiancée that was looking nervously from him to the door.

His brother cursed in his ear and shouted something to someone else before he was back on the phone with him.

"Get Jane out of there if you-"

The phone disconnected.

"Elijah!" Klaus snapped into the phone, but there was only a buzzing in his ear.

The smell was stronger, and Jane reeled back at the sight of flames creeping under the back doors.

"Son of a bitch!" Dorian snarled and try as he might, couldn't break the glass. There were shouts and screams from outside.

Jackson was at the window. "What in the hell is that?"

Despite her growing fear, she neared the door, Klaus keeping a hand on her elbow out of caution. Outside, the few werewolves that hadn't been lucky enough to run inside were fighting off flames as well as people. They were no ordinary people however, they could tell. These beings were fast and agile, leaping like predators onto their prey so fast and skillful it was like watching a sci-fi movie. Blood spattered the air as hands were thrust into chests.

Jane screamed as one of the intruders withdrew their hand and there lay a heart. A heavy silence fell inside the room with deep horror as their companions were ripped to bits.

"Morts-viviants." Klaus said grimly, cradling Jane to his body as he watched the attacks outside. Hayley and Oliver were no longer in view. "They attacked us earlier."

"What are they?" Josh asked in horror. "That's not natural...not that we are either..." He trailed off.

"Undead witches." Mona said aloud. "So, it has happened."

Just then the roof creaked, and they heard a crash above their heads. The fire was now in the house.

"We're trapped in here." Jane whispered. "Even if we go outside, we're not safe." Smoke began to fill the house and she coughed at the strong smell.

Klaus snarled and tried to help get a door open, unfortunately it wasn't budging. Josh and Dorian weren't having any luck either.

Feeling peculiar, Jane went to stand near the window, eyes focused on the flames. She felt as if she were floating and not in control of her own body. She watched her hands raise in the air and her fingers twitch, alive with magic. Her eyes shut and the sound of thunder rumbled louder.

"Hey, what's she doing?" Josh asked aloud and the people in the room turned to watch. Klaus blinked and started to speak, but someone else spoke first.

"Being who she is. The fifth element." Mona smiled and he glanced at her.

Pure, clean, rain fell from the sky fighting the fires raging around the house. In mere seconds, the fires were gone. Jane jerked a hand and the doors and windows opened. Rain and werewolves came in through the door. Hayley appeared at the window and looked in at Jane.

"Did she do that?"

Dorian nodded, still watching her in awe. He noticed her wavering and turned to Klaus.

"She's getting tired."

He didn't need to say anything else. Klaus zipped over to her, catching her gently in his arms as she collapsed. The rain continued, lesser now, but still cleansing the fire and smoke away.

Cradling her in his arms, he glanced out at the rain and then at her. Jane's face was rain soaked and he was startled to see that the mark from Tunde was gone.

"The rain...healed the earth and healed her as well." Mona said from his side and patted the girl's face dry with a cloth. He nodded at her in thanks. "She'll be a bit tired when she wakes so make sure she rests."

Klaus glanced up when Jackson came over to him. "My name is Jackson Kenner. I've been keeping an eye on Jane for awhile now."

Understanding came to the Original as his meaning became clear. "You saved her from the witches that night in the bayou and you ran off Lucien."

Jackson nodded.

"Thank you." He said quietly to him.

"Like I was telling Jane earlier, we take care of our family and that includes you and Jane. She said it was hard for you to trust us and I understand that, but if you need us...We will come. It's our responsibility as a pack to take care of family who need us."

Klaus merely nodded unsure of how to respond.

Mona patted his arm. "I wish you would bring her to the bayou, but I know you are eager to take her home."

"She'll be fine."

"Yes." She smiled at the statement. "She's a tough little elemental. Keep her safe."

He nodded again and glanced up as Dorian came up to him. "You protected her. You have my gratitude."

The younger Hybrid nodded. "I'm going to get my family home and then come back. Someone did this deliberately. Whether as a distraction or something else or out of malice, but the moon is fading and they will turn back to wolves soon." He glanced out at the backyard again. "And the undead things are gone too. That's not a good sign."

Klaus nodded that he had heard and gathered Jane up further into his arms.

Katherine zipped quickly over to her lover.

"Elijah." She shook him, when he couldn't focus on her and patted his face. "Come on, we have to go."

He blinked at her, raising his head. "Celeste?"

"I don't know where that crazy ass witch went." She said, shaking her head. "But we can't stay here. Something is wrong. No one can get ahold of Klaus and Jane." Elijah made to get up then, stumbling slightly. He focused at her bloodied face and frowned, grabbing her chin.

"Katherine..."

"I'm fine." She said, trying not to smile at his concern and remain firm. "We have to go. Now. It's not safe out in the open. The witches have done something to the city. There are places blocked off from humans and no one seems to mind it. And any human that strayed too far..." She shook her head. "Something ripped them to pieces."

"The morts-vivants." Elijah frowned. "Where are my siblings?"

They stared down at the body that lay in the middle of the New Orleans witches' consecration grounds. The tombs around them were as dark and foreboding as the sky above. The wind had picked up again, reminding Rebekah of weeks before when Davina's powers had manifested.

Marcel sighed and straightened back up from his crouched position. "Well, he's dead. Throat slit. And his blade is gone."

Rebekah scowled. "Someone is playing a very dangerous game." She toed the dead body of Papa Tunde and then shuddered. "To what end?"

"Sabine is Celeste?" Sophie frowned as Kol quickly caught her up. "Oh, my god. For how long?"

"Probably long before Klaus and Jane arrived here." Marcel said to her and frowned. "She had to have been planning it out."

Sophie sighed. "And I guess Jane-Anne and I fell into her plan as well. We were the ones who knew Jane would come here."

"Katherine was the one who wrote to Nik." Rebekah pointed out.

Kol snorted and they looked at him. "Not that I'm fond of her, but Celeste tricked Sophie and her sister, which made them in turn get word out for Katherine to hear."

Monique was frowning slightly. "She would have come here. Some of her ancestors are here same as ours. Her linage goes far back." The young recently resurrected witch was acting oddly, spacing out and talking as if someone else was using her to speak. She was prone to silences, listening to something no one else could hear.

Thunder rumbled again, dark thick clouds covering the moon and it began to rain heavy cold drops.

Monique held her hands out, catching some of the rain.

"I can feel her. Jane. She's making the rain."

Rebekah frowned. "What? How do you know that?"

"It's not ordinary rain." The young witch cupped her hands to catch more rain, which was pouring heavily from the heavens now, too heavily and unnatural. Marcel looked up at the sky inquisitively. Soon she had a cupped hand of water and sipped it. "Yes...she's doing it."

"Really?" Kol inquired with interest and looked up at the rain again. "Bloody hell."

Rebekah was in shock as well.

"Wait? Is she in trouble?" The blonde asked, frowning. "Is Jane in trouble? Is that why she's making it rain?"

"I don't know." Monique answered truthfully. "I just know she's doing it."

"I haven't heard from Nik or Elijah." Kol, glanced back at them. "Have you?"

"No..." His sister responded and pulled out her phone. "Surely they would have gotten rid of Celeste by now."

Monique turned to them before either one could speak.

"Celeste is going to betray our coven." The teenager said, eyes closed as she concentrated on something.

Sophie frowned at her niece. "What? How do you know?"

"I can sense it." She moved and opened her eyes, finding Marcel. "Get me a map of the city and I can find her. Aunt Sophie...where are Celeste's remains?" As the ancestors demanded, she must obey. Stop Celeste, save the elemental.

Jane opened her eyes slowly to see Klaus above her, eyes narrowed.

"Klaus?" She croaked and he stopped walking, looking down at her.

"My love." He gently sat her on her feet when she moved in his arms. "Careful." He took her arm to keep her from falling. "Still a bit wobbly."

"What happened? Did everyone get out?! Is anyone hurt?!" She started breathing erratically through her panic.

He spun her around, patting her back lightly until she had her breathing under control and then helped her sit on a bench.

"Easy, sweetheart. You're still recovering from your...magic." He reprimanded lightly, but she could tell he was worried about her. "Deep, slow breaths..." She did as he suggested and then looked at him with wide eyes.

"Klaus. Please." She breathed, leaning back in exhaustion. He gave her another concerned frowned and then sighed at her anxious expression. "Your werewolf friends are just fine." He spoke. "Most of them. The ones in the house got out. Mona wanted you to go with her, but I wasn't letting you out of my sight. Not with your nose bleeding again."

She touched under her nose briefly and he handed her a slightly rain damp rag that Mona had given him.

"Dorian?" She asked, wiping the blood away and trying to remain upright. She wanted to sleep so badly, but she could sense something was wrong. Klaus kept glancing around not wanting to stay put for too long, but Jane was too exhausted to be moving just yet even if he carried her.

"Yes, yes. He's just fine. Helping his family back to the woods before they change back. You saved them with your magical rain." She could tell he was impressed and smiled slightly. "Quite the show, my love."

"Where's Elijah? He sounded so strange on the phone."

The Original's face darkened. "Apparently Davina had been trying to warn us about Celeste. She is the one who switched the power from the Harvest witches and put them elsewhere. You met one this afternoon."

"Papa Tunde." Fear crept up her spine and she touched her stomach gently.

"Yes, but he's dead now. He can't harm you anymore." He paced in front of her uneasy all the sudden as if they were being watched. It set his nerves on end. "Rebekah being her usual self, disappeared not long after recovering from Tunde's spell. Elijah found her and Kol arguing and that's when the morts-viviants attacked. We managed to be rid of them and then discovered that since Tunde was dead, that power went into one of the Harvest girls."

"One woke up?"

"Yes, Jane Anne's niece. After that, Rebekah, Kol, and Marcel went to find Tunde's body to make sure he was truly dead."

Jane bit her lip. "And Elijah?"

Klaus looked at her. "Elijah figured out that Sabine was possessed by Celeste, we went to confront her."

"Sabine?"

He nodded gravelly. "Yes, apparently she'd been possessed for quite some time. Long before our arrival here."

"She planned this?"

"So, it seems. I got the call from Joshua about you and left Elijah to deal with her alone."

"Oh, no." Jane shook her head. "What's happened to him?"

"I don't know, love." Klaus stopped pacing to cup her face. "But I wasn't about to ignore your need of me."

Jane sighed. "Maybe we best get home and find your siblings."

"Are you all right to move?"

"I think so."

Klaus helped her up and they moved, but slower than he liked.

"Here, love." He scooped her up into his arms, walking briskly. He didn't dare use vamp speed in case it made her sick.

It proved to be a mistake. Klaus came to an abrupt stop and Jane lifted her head from his shoulder. Both stiffened. Ahead of them, forming a line to block their escape were witches. Celeste in the middle. They were not witches that Jane recognized nor did Klaus.

He set her down slowly, and tucked her behind him, growling in warning.

"Celeste."

"Hello, Niklaus." The witch smiled. "How have you been?"

Jane grabbed Klaus' sleeve as more witches appeared behind them and he frowned at the circle they were forming around them.

"Klaus." She breathed near his ear. "What do we do?" To their horror, some of the witches were...morts-vivants. Alive and dead witches banded together to stop them from fleeing. He didn't answer her, trying to calculate a move that freed at least one of them. Preferably Jane and their child.

"Give up, Klaus. There's nowhere to hide now." Celeste spoke and the Hybrid tensed. Jane gripped his shirt in her fist, terrified.

"You will not touch her!" Klaus snarled. "I'll kill every witch that dare lay a finger on her."

"We shall see about that." Celeste smiled thinly and then raised her hands. More witches joined in, chanting as well.

Klaus cried out suddenly holding his head, his nose and ears began bleeding from the pain.

"No!" Jane cried and glared at the witches. "Stop it! Leave us alone!" She wanted to help him, but she was still too tired from her magic earlier. All she could do was try to help him remain upright through the witches' magic.

Thierry rushed up in a blur and Klaus moved to block Jane as she screamed. All around them, the chanting stopped as if on cue, and he glanced down as something pierced his skin. Papa Tunde's blade was sticking out of his chest. Jane screamed again as it began sinking deeper into his chest. Klaus cried out in agony and tried to yank it out, but a magical pull kept tugging it inside his chest.

The Original Hybrid's eyes flashed gold briefly and Jane felt tears pool in her eyes. Her hands scrambled for the handle as well, but it was too far inward.

"Klaus!" She cried, but he gasped and fell to his knees. He cried in agony again, the blade working it's magic and then he fell silent, falling to the pavement as the blade disappeared inside him. "Niklaus!" She shook his shoulder, tears spilling down her cheeks. "No, wake up! Please wake up, Niklaus." He was breathing, but not responding to her and she shook him harder. "Wake up!"

Hearing footsteps she looked up to see Thierry.

"What did you do to him!?" She shrieked and stood unsteadily on her feet. "Why?!"

"Sorry you had to see that." His eyes flickered to someone behind Jane. "Then again...No, I'm not."

Hands grabbed her. "No, let me go!" She screamed and tried to fight someone's hold on her, but they had their arms wrapped around her tightly. Jane shrieked and kicked, but Klaus was being taken from the street as she was restrained.

"Niklaus!" She called out, but he remained out.

Katherine swore as she saw the witches closing their circle tighter around Jane and Klaus until they were out of sight. There was no way in and Elijah was still shaky from Celeste's poison.

"We can't just stand here." He said and looked over the doppelganger's shoulder, frowning at the witches that were suddenly moving.

"Elijah, you're not well. Don't be stupid." She snapped. "I don't like it either, but we don't have a choice."

"I'm fine, Katerina."

"Then stand on your own." She commented before frowning. "We don't even have a plan." Jane screamed from up the street and she flinched at the terrified sound.

"What the hell are you two standing around for?!"

Elijah grabbed Dorian's arm as the Hybrid attempted to pass him.

"We don't yet have a plan." He said grimly. "As much as I want to help her, we cannot."

"The hell we can't. They'll kill her and the baby."

He frowned. "Not if we liberate them of their power. There's a way to be rid of the undead witches. We need just need to figure out who they used to bring them back."

"What do you mean?" Dorian asked in confusion.

"When this occurred before, we found that the link between their magic and the undead was the person they brought back to life."

There was a shout and the trio watched as a few witches collapsed.

Rebekah and Marcel melted out of the darkness, Jane between them.

The girl was clinging to Rebekah, shaking and pale.

"There, there, sweets. We'll find him." She murmured to Jane who only nodded.

Elijah continued as they approached them. "Then it was Niklaus' long lost love. She was not the same as before. Dark and twisted, eating hearts like the beings brought back."

"Vivianne?" Jane whispered and he nodded at her.

"So, who would voluntarily do this? Bring back someone only for them to turn out like that?"

"Someone who was fooled and will soon learn the sacrifice was not as was promised. Someone who has a vendetta against my brother."

"Which would be a lot of people." Katherine rolled her eyes. Jane scowled.

He shook his head at her patiently, a thin smile playing at his lips. "Someone recent. This didn't just occur. This was thought out."

Rebekah whipped her head around to look at Marcel, a gasp flying from her mouth. "Where'd Thierry go?!"

He frowned. "T wouldn't-"

"Klaus killed his witch lover. And he's been acting strangely...He didn't run when they bombed the Garden months ago." She snapped at him. "Of course, it's him! And he just drove Tunde's blade into my brother's chest!" She winced when Jane shuddered and she stroked her hair.

Marcel grimaced. "There's a place he might go..." He glanced at the Originals. "I'll go. If he sees any of you, he won't talk to me. If it is him, maybe I can talk to him."

"Go then." Elijah told him. "He's your friend, Marcel. I understand you would want to protect him. However, if it is him and if he helped cause this...You end it or I will." He warned. "Tell him that this will end the moment he rips out the heart of the undead anchor. Make him understand."

Marcel nodded and disappeared. Rebekah watched him leave and then turned back to her brother and Katherine.

"What do we do, Elijah?"

"Rescue our brother. Celeste said they would pick us off one by one." The Original nodded. "I need to get to Celeste."

"What is all over you?!" Katherine shrieked, stepping back from him as her doe eyes widened in shock. Rebekah, Jane, and Dorian stared at him too. Elijah pushed up the sleeve of his suit and frowned.

"Names. Seems I have no need to find Celeste. She is playing another game."

"Why?" Katherine asked as she walked over to him to take his arm and look them over.

"I need you to write them all down. I need to figure out the meaning to find Niklaus I'm sure."

Dorian frowned. "Maybe she doesn't think we can get more to help us. We can surprise them with the werewolves. Keep them busy so you can find Klaus."

Elijah nodded. "You go and talk to them. Rebekah, where is Kol?"

The blonde Original frowned. "I don't know. He disappeared after we found out about Tunde."

Katherine frowned. "Figures he'd take off."

Rebekah didn't argue, but she did sigh. Elijah shook his head.

"He wouldn't leave us." Jane said simply and he nodded at her with a small smile.

"Yes, despite his faults, he does care."

Dorian turned to them. "Are you sure you don't need me to stay?" He asked asking Jane and she shook her head.

Rebekah smiled. "No, you go get some help. We will let you know when we've found Klaus."

Katherine glanced up at the sky. "It's getting darker. Do we go back to the compound? The mansion is burned. It may be the only safe place right now."

Elijah nodded. "Rebekah try to find Kol. We need everyone together. Jane tried to warn us of that." He smiled at her and she nodded.

"What happened to you, Elijah?" She asked, frowning. "You sounded strange on the phone."

The Original sighed. "Celeste poisoned me." Jane started to say something, eyes wide, but he shook his head. "I'm better. Its wearing off."

Kol stood outside the house, staring up at the windows. He could not see nor hear anything inside, the magic on the house preventing the ongoings from being heard or seen. If he stepped past the gate, it would be a different story. The Dowager Fauline cottage was used to contain witches that couldn't control their powers or who committed crimes against the community and was the New Orleans coven's asylum. Kol, however, knew that it hadn't always been an asylum. The first few years it had been a prison for his witch allies who had attempted to help him create a dagger to use on Klaus. a dangerous attempt that had ended badly. Klaus had suspected him and got another witch to recast the spell, trapping his allies inside. He had been daggered shortly afterward.

He knew it was dangerous, reckless even to be there when there was trouble already. For all he knew it was already too late.

As he gazed at the old building, he noticed it was well kept. Someone was obviously still using it and the boundary spell and paying for the buildings upkeep. Looking away from the windows, he eyed the porcelain doll head that kept the boundary spell intact. It was old and worn, but still potent enough that it was still used.

His phone had been going off in his pocket, buzzing away like an angry insect. He didn't dare answer. His siblings would be furious that he was even entertaining the idea in his head of going inside the house, but he had to try. Words swam around in his head he couldn't help but hear over and over. Jane's words about the voice that lured her there in her dreams. The "friendly" but sad voice that tried to communicate with her. Something that she claimed wasn't harmful and only wanted to help.

Kol fidgeted again with unease. Klaus would murder him if he knew that he was here instead of helping, but his plan was to help Jane and save her from whatever the deadly coven of witches wanted from her. He had to trust that Jane was right, had to hope that she wasn't being tricked or all hell would break loose. A dangerous witch could be in there plotting revenge or escape from the asylum by using any means necessary. He prided himself on being an immortal Original vampire that feared nothing, but a White Oak stake. But a witch could easily overpower him if he wasn't careful and that is what hesitated him. Jane had to be right. He had to be right. Jane's survival depended on it.

Sophie Deveraux scowled. "What do you want? I'm a little busy. My niece just said that Celeste is on the move." The witch groused as she stomped over to him.

"I need to get inside."

"You want me to what?!" Sophie scowled from next to him. Monique wasn't with her which suited him just fine. The girl made him skin crawl.

"Just locate the witch that's been calling to Jane in her sleep." He said simply and slowly as if she were a small child. Her scowl deepened.

"I'm trying to get my head wrapped around the fact that my best friend was taken over by Celeste and is probably dead! Not to mention that my niece is currently putting a spell on her remains so that if and when she body jumps she'll be forced back to her own body and we can catch her. I shouldn't even be here helping you!"

Kol rolled his eyes. Witches were so dramatic. "Jane said it was friendly."

"A voice from an insane asylum for witches was friendly?" She mocked, "Well, gee maybe it's true!" She shook her head at him, "Why should we even believe it?! people have been after Jane and her kind for centuries!"

He spun around to face her, annoyed. "I don't have time to argue and she doesn't have time either. I have to put my own feelings about this place aside and trust her."

Sophie sighed at the determined look on his face. "Fine. But you have to swear that after this you never call me again."

"Deal."

Freya tilted her head. Someone was trying to break the barrier. Moving to the window, she peered outside and spotted two figures at the gate. Behind her, the lost witches paid her no mind, the ones in charge weren't around to get her away from the glass so she was safe to watch. Whispering a spell under her breath, she suddenly could hear what they were saying outside.

"Does she know this witch's name?" The female asked, in slight annoyance. "It might help." The other shook his head. Freya recognized him. Kol Mikaelson. Her youngest brother. The last time she had set eyes on him had been almost a hundred years ago. At a party as his "date" no less.

"No." He answered, his eyes solely on the house. "Just that it is friendly."

"In her dreams." The woman snorted. "Not reliable. Haven't you all learned not to trust and listen to strange voices? Especially Jane?"

Freya's eyebrows rose. They were discussing her. A small smile formed. So was Kol curious then, come to see for himself? The smile faded. So then where was Jane? didn't she want to come? Didn't she want to meet her? She was an elemental and Niklaus' mate. She had been very easy to talk to since she was so close to nature and starting to gain her powers. Freya reached out with her powers, searching for Jane. She suddenly stiffened. Pain. Horrible pain was coming from her. So then, Kol was here for her help and she'd gladly give it, even if he wouldn't know who she was. And even though it would make her vulnerable to Dalilah's searching magic.

Turning to the door, she started forward and raised her hand to exit.

Katherine grabbed a pad of paper and a pen. When she turned back around, Elijah was bare-chested in front of her.

"If there wasn't impending doom, I'd had plans for you."

He raised an eyebrow questioningly, but his eyes were smoldering. "I'm sure."

Smirking, she trailed her fingers along the names and wrote them down.

"Who do you suppose these are?" She asked as Elijah paced in front of the window to the study.

"I'm not sure." He replied softly, frowning. "I hate being here."

"I know." Her tone wasn't mocking, she was very sincere. "Everyone's in trouble."

Marcel entered the study and Elijah turned to him.

"Anything?"

He shook his head. "They're putting eyes and ears out everywhere. Daywalkers are working every contact we got, cops, dock workers, guys in the Treme. Word's out for Klaus. anyone trying to earn favor with me gets lifetime of it if they find him. Kol too since no one has heard from him." Elijah nodded. "Diego is trying to find Thierry alone, so not to spook him. He'll hide if he gets wind of us looking for him. What's going on in here?"

Katherine handed him the paper she had been writing on. "Elijah's creepy ex is sending us a message. We think it may lead us to Klaus or Jane."

"I believe they are witches that Celeste has inhabited over the centuries."

"The devinette." He muttered, looking over the names. "Old school. Kind of a riddle. Witches use it to teach their kids. Solve it and it disappears."

Katherine scowled. "Lovely. She's stretching out a game so that we can leave Jane alone."

Marcel scanned over the words. "I know that name. Annie LaFleur. She was a witch that was shunned by her coven over a year ago. I never knew why but I can find out."

"It's a start." She sighed.

"Have you heard from Rebekah?"

Elijah frowned. "No. I thought she had gone to look for Kol?"

The door to the study opened with a jarring noise as Josh came inside.

"Oh, uh...sorry." He said quickly, eyeing the strange scene before him of Elijah's shirtless self and Marcel and Katherine in the room as well. "But we got a new problem. Rebekah's missing too."

"What?!"

The group turned to see Jane in the doorway, exhaustion clear on her face. Elijah had urged her to sleep but, as tired as she was, she just couldn't. She had dragged Klaus' pillow over to her, trying to find some semblance of sleep by inhaling his scent. It had helped, but not by much. Not as much as his warmth would have. So she had gotten up to see where everyone had gone.

"What happened to her, Josh?"

The vampire sighed. "Some of the daywalkers said that she was surrounded and taken down near the church. Didn't see where they took her."

"Damn it." Marcel scowled.

Elijah scowled. "Celeste warned me they'd pick us off one by one." He looked at Katherine. "You never did tell me how you ended up with blood on you."

"She tried and failed to catch me." She said matter-of-factly and Marcel almost snorted. Jane only shook her head. "But if she's got more friends now that are witches, we may need a better plan."

"Don't go out alone. Make sure you have someone with you." Josh shrugged. "I'll stick with Marcel."

The vampire smiled. "Right. Josh and I will investigate Annie LaFleur. You and Katherine try to figure out more names. There are archives of witches with the mayor."

Elijah nodded and slipped his shirt back on much to Katherine's disappointment.

The elder Mikaelson turned to Jane as Marcel and Josh went out the door. "You should be resting. You didn't sleep at all."

"I can't." She said softly and sat on the armchair. She sighed. "He's in pain. I can feel it." Tears came to her eyes. "He's in pain and I don't know where he is. And now Rebekah..."

Elijah went over to her, and knelt down, taking one of her hands. Her hands were cold, and he snagged the blanket from the back of the chair and tucked it around her.

"I'll find them both, I promise you." He said to her and turned to Katherine. "You need to-"

"We just discussed leaving alone." She snapped before he could finish.

"We can't leave Jane unprotected." He pointed out. "I can search the names for myself."

"Where's Kol?" Jane asked. "No one's heard from him?"

"No." He sighed. "That is worrying as well."

"I want to help."

"No. You need to stay here."

"Nowhere is safe without my Niklaus." She said in a melancholy voice and Elijah smiled wanly. "I'm sorry, but I feel...wrong. I'm scared."

"Yes, I know, you have no need to apologize for that, Jane. Katerina, stay with her while I'm gone. perhaps I can find Kol. At least he halfway listens to me and perhaps Rebekah's disappearance will make him come with us."

Pulling the blanket tighter to her, she bit her lip and looked out the window. The sun was hidden once more by dark stormy clouds and thunder rumbled softly again. The storm was coming back.

"Be careful." She urged Elijah who nodded at her.

Dorian met Hayley at the edge of the bayou.

"What's happened?"

"Some of the wolves were coerced into helping Celeste."

"What? What do you mean?"

"They were told to attack Rebekah Mikaelson in exchange for a moonlight ring."

"What's that? The opposite of a daylight ring for vampires?"

Hayley nodded, folding her arms across her chest. "It makes it so they can have their powers, but not have to wait for a full moon. These wolves weren't part of our pack, Dorian. I don't know where they came from. There are a few others out here as well. This pack was...they live here somewhere in the city."

"No. no, Marcel ran them all out."

"He only thought he did. There's a large family pack out there, Dorian. They've hurt Rebekah and witches took her away."

"Who are they?"

She shook her head. "I don't know. I only know that because of Mona and a few of the loyal packs that are here. They heard about it."

"He missed a pack? How?"

Hayley shrugged, looking pained. "I don't know. I'm trying to help all that I can out here."

"What are they doing with Rebekah?"

"Celeste already has Klaus trapped and now Rebekah. She's going after Jane's protection."

"Oh, no. I have to stop it. I have to save them and go protect Jane."

"Dorian...Mona said...Dorian, you..."

"That I'm what?"

"In danger. Jane's going to die, Dorian. You can't stop it. Mona saw it. She wants you to come home."

"No..." He stepped back. "She's wrong."

"Dorian, don't go." Hayley tried to take his arm. "You don't understand. You can't help her. If you go, you'll die."

Dorian shook his head and backed further away. "I can't leave her unprotected. I have to go. Make sure the others are ready to fight the undead witches, they're coming this way."

"Dorian!" Hayley called as he ran off. "Dorian, wait!"

Mona stepped out of the trees, wiping at her eyes. "Please watch over my nephew." She pleaded with the sky, but then hung her head. His fate had been sealed from the moment he had pledged his loyalty to Jane.

Klaus grunted in pain and flinched as something cold touched his skin. He was floating between consciousness and the darkness that threatened to consume him. He was hot and cold at the same time and it was sickening. Jane... Her voice calling to him in panic and her screams echoed in his mind and he startled himself back awake.

"Jane..." He gasped out, his voice weak.

"You poor thing." A voice crooned from above him and he struggled to open his eyes. A blurred person stood above him and he blinked slowly to clear his vision. A lovely redheaded woman met his eyes and a slow smile appeared on her face.

"Don't worry. I'm here to help." He started to question this, but something cold ripped through his chest dragging a line of fire and he groaned.

The woman rolled up one sleeve of her dark blouse and plunged her hand into his chest wound with surprising force. Klaus snarled and bucked weakly against the bonds that had him chained to the table. After several agonizing seconds of her hand searching and pressing against his insides, she finally ripped out what she had been looking for. Tunde's blade. Klaus growled at her, jerking against the bonds again in hope of snapping them and attacking her. She merely smiled at him as if she knew what he wanted.

"What...do you want?" He snarled, leaning his head back to help elevate the pain. His eyes flashed the werewolf gold for a moment as he stared at the woman. "You are one of those witches back from the dead aren't you and out for revenge? Or are you one of Laurent's? Where is Jane?"

"Yes to the first question, my name is Genevieve, but I'm not here for revenge. As for Jane, she's in a place that's been spelled. No one can find her just yet."

Klaus ground his teeth. "They'll kill her and my child."

"Yes, I know." She said solemnly.

"Why take the blade from me? Seems like you lot would rather me lay here." He said bitterly, scowling at the witch. "You witches are all alike."

She stroked his cheek. "You never did anything to me. And seeing you like this makes me pity you. That's why I took you from the other witch coven."

"Then let me free. I have to go find her."

"Not quite yet. See...we need to have a talk about your sister. While you may not have done anything to me..."

"Rebekah is of no concern to you." he snapped. "If you aim to harm her..."

"Protective big brother...If only you knew the truth..."

Klaus decided to ignore her remarks, thinking her mad. "Why isn't my wound healing?"

"A lot of dark magic in that blade." Genevieve answered. "It's gonna take a little while. Now about your sister."

"I don't want to talk about her."

"Well, we kind of have too." She said and shrugged. "You need to know what's she's capable of."

"You're delaying me in going to find my beloved." He growled. "Now leave my sister be and get me out of here."

"Not until you listen." She held up a bowl. "I'm no stranger to Rebekah's treachery. And I know a few things that you ought too." She offered the bowl to him. "Here. Drink. Trust me. After you see it, I'll let you go. I just want you to see the truth that's all."

Having no other choice, he allowed her to tip the bowl to his mouth. Swallowing the thick mixture, he suddenly gagged. Pain erupted from his throat by what could only be caused by werewolf venom. He started to spit it out, but the witch slapped a hand over his mouth.

Cajolingly, she said: "You have to swallow it in order to fully be able to see what I can show you. your betrayer is closer than you think."

Klaus stared at the ceiling, processing what he had seen and heard. Rebekah had called Mikael...She had betrayed him in the worst way. And Marcel had been in on it. encouraging it and he had searched the man first through. As a way to be rid of him. He was pissed and hurt above all else and wanted to murder them both, but he couldn't find the strength to stay that way. Jane's image flashed through his mind, a look of sadness and disapproval on her face. She would never forgive him if he killed them or even just daggered Rebekah. Part of him, a tiny part, told him it was his own fault that they had sought out means of that nature. He had been very unruly when it came to the men that his sister dragged into their lives. None of which were ever good enough in his eyes and yet... He had eventually allowed Marcel and Rebekah to be together. that tiny part of him sided with his feelings about how Jane would take it. she would be angry with them he was sure, but not angry enough justify him trying to murder them.

She is your sister.

Marcel is family.

You can be angry, but you can't kill them.

What was happening? Klaus found it hard to focus on anything for too long. He felt a tug deep within himself.

"Jane."

She was in pain. Immense pain. Klaus struggled against the bonds that held him to the table. Something was terribly wrong. She was in too much agony and fear was radiating off her wherever she was.

Genevieve rounded the corner, brushing her hair back from her face.

"You must be ready to go."

"I'll not hurt my sister." He ground out. "I'm hurt and betrayed, but I will not harm her."

"Well, now that's too bad." She came closer, holding a syringed needle. An orange liquid sloshed around inside. "I was hoping you'd go after her yourself, especially since she's been weakened by werewolf venom. But," She shrugged and held up the object in her hand for him to see better. "You won't be able to stop yourself."

Klaus snarled and fought against the restraints harder.

"I'm going to Jane." He snapped.

"Oh, I'm sure you will. After Rebekah is dead." She plunged the needle into his arm and Klaus shouted in pain. As the liquid went into arm, a red hot burning pain went in as well, flowing through his veins. A rage built up inside of him and he thrashed against his arm restraints, making them creak.

"Kill your sister. The betrayer. Remember what she's done."

"REBEKAH!"

"Who is Clara Summerlin?" Jane questioned as Katherine typed into the computer.

"That is the link to find Niklaus and Rebekah too I'm sure." Elijah glanced around and then beckoned Jane closer. "There was a witch...Brynne Deveraux. She put the curse on Dorian's family."

"Oh. Thank you."

Keeping his voice low, he added: "Be sure to keep that to yourself."

She nodded, curious, but then saw his eyes drift to Marcel who entered the room. Oh, yes Marcel had obviously known the witch responsible for cursing the Crescent wolves since it had been his idea after all. She wished she had thought to look for that herself. Then a thought occurred to her...Deveraux. Sophie's relation? Maybe she could take it off!

"Find anything about Clara the mystery witch?" He asked.

Katherine leaned back in the computer chair. "Not much. She was a nurse at the Fleur-de-Lis sanitorium." She pulled up a picture of a few nurses standing out in front of the sign. She pointed at one of them. "Recognize her? Top row second from the right?" While they were looking, Jane noticed Marcel's expression. He looked shocked and uneasy at the same time.

"What's wrong?" She asked him and he wouldn't meet her eyes. "Marcel, do you know her?" He walked away and she frowned. Elijah moved out from behind the desk. "Marcel, what do you know?" She demanded, following him. "Hey, look at me this is important!"

He finally turned to her. "The sanitorium. That's where you'll find them."

"Oh, yeah? How do you know?" Katherine scoffed.

"I just know."

Jane moved in front of him. "Tell me. Please."

He finally sighed. "If I'm right, you need to know exactly what we're walking into. We did something Rebekah and I."

Elijah moved closer.

"I think the witches are trying to use it against her."

Jane frowned. "What's that got to do with Klaus?"

"A lot. See it's something..." He swallowed again, looking past Jane to Elijah. "It's something you're not gonna like."

"Marcel."

"You and Rebekah what?!" Jane shrieked at Marcel. "No wonder the two of you have been acting strangely! A guilty conscience! And after all the grief the both of you have been spewing at him over years and months-" She covered her mouth and shook her head. She couldn't continue.

"For over part of a century I have wondered how father found us, what foolish mistake we had made to destroy our time in the one place that we called home. Did you know, that even I blamed myself for a time, Marcellus?" Elijah was moving steadily closer to Marcel.

"Yes, I know." He interrupted. "But you have to understand. Rebekah wanted peace. We wanted a chance."

"I know he's been a pain in the ass when it comes to Rebekah's love life." Jane snapped. "But he's one of her big brothers. He'll always be protective of her. I'll admit most of his protectiveness was unnecessary and very rude, but summoning Mikael was just...Stupid is one word for it."

Elijah attacked Marcel, slamming him against the bricks behind him, hand around his throat.

"Elijah!"

"Niklaus treated you like a son." He snarled. "Rebekah-"

"I loved her. I still love her. All we wanted was to be together, but as long as Klaus was around, that wasn't gonna happen."

"Let him go, Elijah." Jane said quietly and he released him.

"We wanted to take it back."

"Too little too late for that. Oh my god. What did you do? This will break his heart." Jane felt angry and sad at the same time. "How could you have done it? He raised you. He loves you both."

"I just wanted to scare him off, not kill him." He admitted.

"It was still stupid. Mikael doesn't do what you want of him. That was one of the many mistakes you made. He was an evil, calculatingly cruel man and he'd never just stop and chase Klaus. It was all about hunting him and killing him, threatening his family along the way."

"If Klaus figures out the truth, it's bye-bye Rebekah." Katherine spoke up and Elijah narrowed his eyes.

"I will not let my sister suffer his wrath."

"Elijah, he has a right to be pissed." Jane scowled. "Not to the point of killing her, but you can't expect him to not be angry and betrayed."

"Yes, I know. But you also know his temper."

"Yes, so we have to go after him."

"You are staying here." He shook his head at her. "You're tired and pregnant."

"Elijah, it's Klaus! Either you take me with you or I'll just go on my own. They've done something to him too, I can feel it. He's not okay."

"It's safer for you here, Jane."

"Josh will stay with you." Marcel supplied.

As they readied to leave, Marcel approached Jane.

"I'll always regret it, Jane. Even after our fight a month ago... It was you that made me realize that I could make amends with Klaus by protecting you and helping you."

"Because you are family, Marcel. You always have been. I can't speak for Rebekah, but I know she would never truly want her brother dead."

The vampire bowed his head. "No, she wouldn't. It was a terrible mistake and it cost us everything." She put her hand on his arm and he patted it. "If you can forgive me, Jane. I know I didn't know you then." He smirked. "You weren't even born yet. Not even thought about." Jane smiled. "But it would be a start."

"I can forgive you, Marcellus." She smiled at him.

"Nik, Nik stop!" Rebekah screamed, but he was coming for her with Tunde's blade. Elijah intervened, grabbing his brother's arm and tossing him in another direction. It did little to stop him, because Klaus hit the wall and spun around snarling at his "enemies." Marcel backed up with them glancing at Elijah. He had discovered Genevieve and killed her after discovering what she had done to Klaus.

"Now, what?"

"He's confused." Elijah muttered. "We have to stall him until the drug wears off."

"If it wears off." Rebekah grumbled.

"It will." He said firmly.

Raging, Klaus launched at the three of them fangs bared. Marcel kicked him in the chest and sent him flying back as Elijah wrestled him for the blade. Klaus knocked Elijah off him and came at Marcel, both falling into a wall. It cracked as they bounced off it. Marcel found himself pinned beneath Klaus, Tunde's blade barely touching his chest as he struggled to keep Klaus' hand at bay. Marcel snapped his wrist and as his sire cried out in pain, and he kicked him off.

Picking up Tunde's blade, he zipped off. After a disoriented second, Klaus followed.

Rebekah went to help Elijah off the floor.

"What the bloody hell is going on?!"

Rebekah turned to look at the newcomer. "Kol?"

"You look like Hell, Bex." He smirked at her and then looked at Elijah. "Celeste is momentarily out of the way. I'll explain later, but you'll have a chance at her."

"How did you find us?"

"I called Jane. She told me everything."

Klaus snarled loudly from down the hall and there was a loud crash.

"I can see she was correct." He drawled.

"Who is that?" His sister asked, looking past him.

He turned to the other person in his group. "Meet Jane's mystery dream caller."

Rebekah blinked and then tilted her head. "You're the one who's been calling to her?"

"Yes."

A blur of motion had them on edge as the newest intruder pinned the blonde against the wall. The Mikaelson siblings were in shock.

"Why? What do you want with her?" Finn snarled.

"Nothing. I don't wish to harm her." She responded calmly. "I was hoping you'd recognize me. Though we both look a bit different."

"Who are you?" Finn demanded.

"We used to climb trees as children, planning mischief. Never wanting our mother to hear what her little Hunin and Munin were whispering about."

Kol, Rebekah, and Elijah exchanged looks. Katherine was watching them curiously.

"Now, Finn, don't break my heart and tell me you've forgotten me." She said softly, a small sad smile on her lips.

Finn dropped his hands and stepped back. "It-it can't be...Freya?"

She smiled at him and then hugged him tightly.

"Who the hell is Freya?" Katherine snorted.

Elijah tilted his head. "I believe...that she is our sister." He turned and raised an eyebrow at Kol.

"I took the chance that the friendly voice was actually friendly." He shrugged causally. "By trusting Jane and apparently she was correct."

"How lovely, now can we get past the sappiness before Klaus murders everyone?" Katherine snapped.

Freya turned them. "I can help. If you'll allow me too."

Elijah glanced at Finn who nodded and she smiled. If Finn trusted her, for he trusted very few, then it must be true.

Jane suddenly stood and walked to the window. Josh turned to her.

"Are you okay? What's wrong?"

"You need to go, Josh." She pulled back the curtain a tad.

"Go? What do you mean? Elijah and Marcel will be back with Klaus."

She remained at the window, gazing down at the street below.

"Josh, they're coming." She turned to him, closing the curtain back. She looked at him sadly. "The witches. They'll hurt you to get to me and I'd rather you not die."

Josh shook his head. "Hey, no. I'm not leaving you here unprotected."

Tears slipped down her cheeks. "I lied to him. To Klaus. I said that the vision was just about the baby...It was about me too."

"What is going on, Jane?"

She slid her necklace off. The one Klaus had given her a year ago with a letter. They had been sending letters to each other and he had sent a gift to her. She gazed at it for a long time and then handed it to Josh.

"It's too late for me, but there's a chance he can save our child. She'll be little and it'll be hard," She stopped to take a deep breath. "Promise you'll get that to him. tell him to save it for her. For our child." Jane clutched at her head and started gasping.

"Jane?" Josh touched her shoulder. "Jane, what's wrong?"

"Witches." She whispered, before her eyes rolled back and she went limp. Josh barely caught her in time.

Josh jumped at the loud sound from outside the room and then looked up as several witches entered the study. He laid Jane gently on the floor and stood up as Desmond entered the room.

"There's my special little elemental." The witch smiled down at Jane before acknowledging the other occupant. "Hello, Joshua. Lovely evening." Thunder rumbled in the sky ominously and the building shook from the impact.

"Freya?" Kol turned to her. "Any ideas of the witchy kind?"

"We have to get him to focus on something else."

"Like what?"

"Jane." She said simply and walked over to him. "Try to keep him still." Finn and Elijah struggled as Marcel recovered from the recent neck snap.

"Klaus!" She grabbed his face. "Look at me, Niklaus! Now!"

The commanding tone made him falter and his eyes finally tore away from Rebekah and down to her.

"What do you want?" He snarled through gritted teeth. His whole body was on edge.

Freya touched his cheek and he shuddered, fighting off something within himself. "It's okay. Just focus on her. On Jane." He was stiff as a board trying his best not to harm her.

"Jane..." He said slowly, his body relaxing slightly. "Mine..." Elijah loosened his grip.

"Yes, brother. Jane needs you. Your child needs you."

He sighed and shut his eyes, letting out a small, pained sound. "Can't stop...Rebekah...Painful."

His sister looked worried.

"Yes, I know." Freya murmured. "I can help, but it will be painful. I have to undo what the other witch did."

Marcel's phone rang and he answered it quickly. "What?! Josh calm down. Tell me what happened." Slowly, he lowered his phone turning to the siblings and Katherine. "Laurent's got Jane."

Klaus growled and lurched forward, but Finn and Elijah held him steady. He was at war with himself. He wanted to harm Rebekah and Marcel and yet not. He wanted to find Jane, hide her away, and keep her far from everyone else. That part was almost strong enough to push out the other feeling.

"Help me get to her." He said and Freya nodded, lifting her hand. Klaus groaned and then let out a cry as pain filled his head.

She laid limply on the slab of stone, staring up at the sky. Her wrists and ankles were restrained, stretching her tightly across the cold, hard rock. She couldn't move without an aching pain. She was in a field somewhere. Near the bayou, and that was all she knew.

"I'm sorry it has to be this way." Desmond told her, but she didn't respond.

She felt lightheaded and could hardly move. Her whole body was sore and she was so exhausted. Lifting her head was difficult even and she blinked at the sky, noticing dark clouds moving rapidly over the bright full moon. Just as her vision had predicted. Tears slipped down her cheeks. Even the screams and shouts that suddenly began and rose over the deafening silence from before was the same. There were loud explosions and snarls, screams and shouts both triumphant and in anger. Thick black smoke obscured most of the fighting she could barely make out and the scent of fire, smoke, and blood came at her all at once making her woozy from the sensations.

"Jane!"

Her name was shouted from among the blurred people.

"Jane!"

She saw black-hooded figures coming towards her and she jerked weakly at her tied wrists. She felt like she was floating and yet, painful spasms were coursing through her body. Especially in her abdomen. She took in a shaky breath as she realized that she could possibly be going into early labor or the baby was distressed.

"Oh, god..." She whispered, she could feel blood beginning to soak her dress...

"It's not nearly pure enough." One of the black cloaked figures near her said, eyeing her with disgust. Jane frowned lightly. "Are you sure she's just bonded to the Original?"

Desmond tilted his head. "Ah, yes...I had almost forgotten about Dorian." His eyes turned to the dark trees. "Dear, dear, Dorian."

"Jane!"

She saw him then, his eyes focused on hers as he was dragged forward, dangling from the grip of two witches. He was groggy and could hardly keep his head up.

"Dorian...no..." She whispered.

"Stay away from her!" He shouted at the cloaked figures that started to come closer.

"There you are, Dorian." Desmond crooned jovially from near her head. Jane tilted her to see the Hybrid. "I was hoping we'd find you."

"Jane!" He said, looking either drunk or drugged. He was almost unable to stand upright. "Let her go!"

"Say your goodbyes, Jane."

She shook her head. "NO!" She screamed. "Please don't do this! Leave him alone!"

"Jane, look at me." Dorian called and she glanced at him with blurry eyes. "I love you. I always have since we first met. I know you never felt the same, but it's okay."

"Dorian-" She sobbed.

"It's okay, Jane." He said firmly, eyes on her. "It's okay. It's been a pleasure knowing you and I know you'll help our family. Will you say it one time?"

Jane sucked in a breathless sob. "I love you, Dorian." She said and he shut his eyes with a small smile as he was pushed into a group of decaying morts-vivants.

They looked as if they had crawled out of their graves, dirt and rotting flesh covered them. they attacked him and weak as he was, put up a good fight. However, he was soon overwhelmed and flipped onto his back. The ugly, rotting creatures, that hardly resembled human beings, stood above him, blood dripping down their chins. One straddled him and then thrust their hand into his chest like a knife sliding into butter.

Dorian screamed in pain.

Jane shook her head wildly, sobbing. "No!" She cried. "Dorian!"

With a vicious yank, the undead creature held the Hybrid's heart in its hand.

"Nooooo!" She screamed and felt the stabbing pain of a broken bond course through her body.

Jane grew ill and had to look away as the zombie-like creature brought the heart of Dorian Walker up its mouth and took a bite out of it.
