Chapter One:

It was wet, dark and cold. He was alone.
'But you're not alone…' Eyes a faded blue, yet still noticeable even in the shadows, opened wide in surprise. He started looking around frantically for the voice.
It sounded just like his own but more rough.
'They're coming Naruto' he could hear it, the sounds of footsteps against the wet pavement. He started to run as fast as his little legs could carry him.
He needed to get away from them, especially him. The boogie man in the suit.
Naruto pushed his blond hair out of his eyes, as he was running. He felt his heart stop. There were alleyways he could go, left or right.
"Hey there he is!"
It seems like he took too long to decide, the bad men were much closer now. Panicking, he went right.
His little heart stopped at the sight before him. It was a dead end.
The stomping of feet against the wet pavement was back. Hesitant he looked over his shoulder, there were four of them. Each one looked extremely different thanks to their power, their quirk.
A monkey looking man covered head to toe in muscle stomped forward, sending the small child a menacing glare.
"Nowhere left to run." Naruto cowered back into a corner, shaking.
"Come on kid, time to take you back" the most normal looking of the group called out, blocking off any exits the boy could take with his quirk.
A small tornado started to spin in his palm, slowly growing. The wind picked up around the group, the rain now feeling like little needles as it pricked the skin.
With tears in his eyes, he screamed out a mighty "No!" Backing a way into a corner, trying his hardest to distance himself from the thugs.
He closed his eyes, searching deep within himself for a power, for his quirk.
The monkey looking man had enough, reaching forward with a snarl "Come here you little bra-gah!"
He was caught off guard when a little fist buried in his cheek and was sent flying from the punch, crashing into his fellow goons.
Naruto started down at his hand in shock, a look of awe but then his eyes narrowed. He wouldn't let them take him back.
Groaning, the monkey quirked man sat up, spitting out a glob of blood, then he almost seemed to go feral.
"You little shit!" Banging his chest in a rage, the beast man charged. Roaring like a feral animal.
"Oi Hazaka stop!" Either blinded by his animal instinct or his rage, who could say but he struck the blond boy, sending him flying into the wall with a crunch.
The boy fell face first, blood leaking out of his mouth.
"Hazaka you fucking idiot what did you do?!"
"Ah shit"
Crack!
It was disturbing to listen to, bones snapping and cracking back into place. Naruto's body twitched with every bone rattling sound until it went dead quiet.
In a blink of an eye, Naruto was no longer faced down but hunched over, his shoulders started to shake in what seemed like laughter?
"Look what you've done now. You put poor Naruto to sleep" the thugs were left confused at Naruto's new voice, it didn't sound like that of a scared child. It was slightly deeper, It was unnatural.
Naruto's head shot up, the boy's soft features seemed to have changed. His eyes were a hellish blood red, becoming more narrow, and his smile…it was predatorial.
"What the hell?! Is this part of his quirk or somethin?!"
"Who cares! Just come get the-" the thug was cut off by what appeared to be Naruto driving his knee into the thugs face, the force of the blow seeme to ripple his body before he spewed out blood. Crashing into a wall before falling with a wet splat.
"Eh, looks like I don't know my own strength sometimes. Now which one of you hit him, hmm? It was you wasn't it? The big ape" 'Naruto' mocked as he strutted forward, eyes narrowing lazily.
Hazaka roared like the beast he was, spittle flying. The ground rumbled as he charged forward.
The blond child continued his strut forward, head tilting to the side as Hazaka brought his arm back for a strike.
"Little bastard!"
In a blink of an eye 'Naruto' was gone, Hazaka had fallen forward, groaning in pain as the ground was stained red.
The rest of the thugs were left confused, until they heard the chuckling once again. Whirling around they saw Naruto carting a giant furry arm over his shoulder.
"Sorry, looks like I ripped off your arm. Guess you're not so strong after all." 'Naruto' threw the limb away without a second glance, his smile still in place.
As if realising his wound, Hazaka screamed in agony over the lost limb. Trembling from the pain.
"Gaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!"
"W-What the hell?!"
"He took out Hazaka!"
'Naruto' started to laugh, amused at how strong these men thought they were before, but now? Sniveling in fear like maggots!
"Get away!"
"Hazaka, get up! Help us!"
"Nooooooo!"
"AHAHAHAHAHA!"
Bright blue eyes snapped open in the darkness, the creaking of his ceiling fan helped in waking him up.
A groan echoed throughout the room, and the cocoon of blankets split open, out sprouted a head followed by a torso.
The sleepy face of an older Naruto greeted the world, no longer a small scared child but a young man of fifteen years.
"Ahhhrgghhh…" Naruto yawn shook his whole body, groaning as he stretched sleeping muscles "One of those dreams huh?"
'Precious memories'
Naruto frowned at the voice in his head, running a hand through his messy blond hair "Of course you would think that, Sukuna"
'Ahhhh but it's such a joy to look back to the past, thinking of all the people we've fought and broken. Ehehehehe! It gets the blood pumping just thinking about it!' Naruto sighed as he rubbed his tired eyes, listening to Sukuna took more energy than it required.
"Settle down, Sukuna. Besides, you're banned from using our body!" Groaning as he walked out of his room to the kitchen, the need to stuff his face with Ramen became unbearable.
'Oi, oi, oi! Why am I banned?!' The blond gripped his head as if suffering from a headache.
"You somehow started a bar fight and I woke up naked in some woman's bed!" Naruto could practically see Sukuna's smug smile, arms lazily crossed.
'You're welcome…a prude like you would never find a girl if it wasn't for me' Naruto growled in annoyance, thinking back to that night still made him embarrassed. Waking up with some unknown naked woman in his arms.
Naruto cheeks flushed, shaking his head to get rid of those tempting thoughts.
"We made that poor woman cheat on her husband" Sukuna just laughed evilly inside his head, his smirk somehow visible.
'That sounds like her problem, not ours. Besides, you still think back to that night. As I said, you're welcome'
Naruto's face slacked into a deadpan look, his kettle started to boil snatching his attention "You're still banned"
'Bastard!'
Naruto decides to block out Sukuna, waiting for his ramen to cook with a pout "It's going to be a long day…"
Naruto now dressed in his standard school uniform, a white shirt which he left mostly unbuttoned, showing off his muscular chest, a black coat with a red interior, baggy pants and a pair of black shoes.
The perfect look for a delinquent.
Naruto with his hands in his pockets walked to school, a school bag hanging half heartedly over his shoulder.
'Tch why are we going to school again?' Naruto sighed at Sukuna's question, muttering quietly to himself so he wouldn't get odd looks from strangers.
"We need to go if we're going to get into the hero program"
'Ohhhh that's right. You want to become a hero. Not for the right reasons though, right Naruto? You want to find him' Naruto grit his teeth, it was true he didn't want to become a hero to save people. He was doing it for his own selfish desires 'Heh, don't worry. Your secret is safe with me. After all, I want to tear him apart just as much as you do'
Time seemed to blend together for the blond delinquent, so lost in his own thoughts he was already down the road from his School.
Broken out of his musing by the small crowd of girls waiting for him.
"There he is!"
"Uzumaki-kun!"
"Kyaaa! He's so hot!"
"Good morning, Uzumaki-kun!"
"Uzumaki-kun, I made you a bento!"
"So did I!"
"Try mine!"
"No mine!"
Naruto tried ignoring them, hoping by being rude they'd take the hint and go away, but it looked like they were determined to follow the blond, chatting amongst themselves before looking at Naruto with blushing cheeks.
A girl with short hair, cute in her own way, was feeling bold, quickly wrapping her arms around Naruto's bicep, pushing her modest chest into the muscle "How have you been Uzumaki-kun?"
Naruto looked down at her with a raised brow, the poor girl's face turned cherry red as she got lost staring into his deep blue eyes.
"Hey!" Another girl barreled into the short haired girl clinging to Naruto's arm, knocking her to the side with a growl "Why are you clinging to Uzumaki-kun arm like that? You're being too chummy. Stay away from him!"
"What the hell, ugly?!"
"Shut it, flat chest!" The short haired girl looked offended as she held her bag close to her chest. Growling before she shot back her own insult.
"Ugly"
"Flat"
"Ugly!"
"Flat!"
"Ugly!"
"Flat!" This went on for about a minute until Naruto along with Sukuna finally snapped.
Whirling around with his eyes changing to red he shouted "Shut up! You're so Kami damn annoying!"
The girls were left speechless staring at the blond delinquent with wide eyes and gaping mouths.
For a moment it was dead quiet.
"KYAAHHHH!"
"He totally said it to me!"
"No me!"
Naruto sweat dropped, unable to process their reaction, he started marching onward towards school, brow twitching at Sukuna's insufferable sniggering.
'We still got it!'
"Shut up, Sukuna" Sukuna's sniggering turned to laughter, mocking his other half.
'Hahahaha!'
He was right. It was going to be a long day.
"Yo, Fumikage!" Naruto's voice echoed throughout the hallway, breaking through the chatter of other students, catching the attention of one avian headed individual.
Fumikage Tokoyami, a teenaged boy around the same age as Naruto. Rather on the short side, only reaching the blond's neck in height. His quirk being more noticeable than others, having the head of a crow or raven, with a hooked yellowish beak.
Dressed simply in the same school uniform as everyone else bar the blond delinquent.
"Good morning, Uzumaki." Fumikage stared deep into the blonds eyes as if he was looking through him "You as well, Sukuna"
Naruto's cheek twitches, before a small eye and mouth sprouted grinning at Fumikage "Yo bird brain."
Fumikage grunted as a shadow, monster-like being started to form with a head similar to the avian teens and bright yellow eyes "Still getting Naruto into trouble, Sukuna?"
"It's not hard, the blond idiot attracts trouble like a magnet. Oh did Naruto tell you what he got up to this weekend?"
"Hmm?"
"We went out for a night in the town, looking for trouble and we found this-"
The blond delinquent growled, slapping his cheek with a mighty thwack "Oi cut it out, Sukuna!"
Dark Shadow looked equally as amused as his master before disappearing back into Fumikage.
"Still as troublesome as ever I see" Naruto couldn't help but nod at his friend's correct assessment of his other half.
Grinning down at his avian-headed friend, he decided to ask about what's been on their minds for the last several months "So Fumikage, still going to attend U.A. with me?"
"Yes, it would be a privilege to learn from the best of the best. However, getting into the greatest school in Japan won't be an easy task." Naruto gave a fox-like smile at his friend's words, hands clasped behind his head, as the two started to make their way towards their classes.
"You think so? Probably won't be a problem for you and me, huh?" Fumikage closed his eyes in thought before a small hidden smirk made its way onto his usual stoic features.
"That is if you don't struggle with the written part of the exam." Naruto's eyes bulged, staring at his best friend in panic. Cocky attitude gone.
"Ehh! Written exam?! You mean it isn't just fighting?" The avian headed teen gave the blond a look of disbelief.
"You didn't just think we would fight and that would be the end of it?" Naruto's sheepish smile was all the answer he needed, shaking his head in astonishment.
"Don't worry Fumikage, I know Sukuna will help me when things get tough." Sukuna, having listened in on the entire conversation, spoke directly to Naruto, his voice echoing inside the blond's head.
'Nope' Naruto nearly tripped over his own feet, yelling in rage at the voice inside his head.
"Oi! Sukuna! If I don't get in, then you don't get in either!"
'I don't care. Seeing you fail will be hilarious.' Naruto's brow twitched as he growled at his other half's response, the blond delinquent grunted before sticking his nose up in a haughty manner.
"Bastard! I didn't need you anyway, I'll get in by myself. Shouldn't be hard, I still have ten months to prepare."
'I doubt a fool like you would be prepared even if you had ten years.'
Fumikage watched in amusement at the comedic scene between his friend and the voice inside his head while getting odd looks from those who didn't know the duo.
The rest of the day was almost the same as any other, except for the news of All Might being spotted close by, chasing down a sludge-like villain.
The event sent a round of excitement throughout the school, with gossip on where the number one Hero was and if he had caught the villain yet.
The bell rang, signifying the end of class and a mob of students departed from the school. eager to spend the rest of the afternoon with friends or at home.
Naruto and Fumikage walked out of the school gates, looking pleased that the day was finally over.
The blond looked over towards the avian teen with a lazy smile "Oi, Fumikage I heard there was a commotion downtown. Might be able to see some heroes in action. Wanna check it out?"
"Not today. I want to get some work in for U.A, I recommend you do the same." Naruto waved off his friend with a cheeky grin, beginning his walk in the opposite direction, giving a final wave over his shoulder towards his friend.
"Yeah yeah. I'll see you later Fumikage" hands in his pockets he made his way downtown, excited to see some real heroes in action.
Worried that he might miss something exciting he started to hurry. Unintentionally using his quirk to get there faster.
BOOOM!
The streets rumbled from the force of the explosion, people fearful for their lives running in the opposite direction.
Naruto showing no fear rushed forward, ducking and dodging until he finally found what was causing all the damage
The sludge monster from the news had taken a girl hostage. Forcefully using her quirk to fight off the heroes.
"Stay back everyone! Damn, there's nothing we can do to help the kid!"
"We need to wait until a hero with a more useful quirk comes!" Naruto frowned, these were heroes? Waiting around while that girl suffered?
"This is all my fault…" a small mousy voice whimpered from his left, looking down, the first he noticed was green hair and freckles.
The poor girl looked like she was ready to break down. Eyes welling up with harsh tears.
Without any hesitation she charged forward into the danger ignoring the shouts of the pro heroes and the crowd.
Naruto was left stunned as he watched her fight a battle she couldn't win, clawing at the sludge to save the other girl.
She was acting like…
"A hero"
Naruto didn't know when he moved, all he knew was that she was about to be killed. Faster than any pro hero could see, he scooped the greenette into his arm and yanked out the explosive blond with the other, carrying them off to safety.
The freckled girl blinked in a daze noticing she was being held by something warm, something strong. She's never felt so safe before.
Unintentionally she nuzzled into the warmth, forgetting about the danger she was just in.
The realization of what just happened kicked in, green eyes snapped open, looking around frantically for the girl she once called her best friend "Kaachan?!"
"You okay?" A smooth deep voice rattled her to her core, hesitantly she looked up to the most mesmerizing blue eyes she had ever seen.
"Erm.." he looked so concerned, gently he placed her down on the ground, followed by the girl she tried to save.
"You're not hurt are you?" Freckled cheeks became bright red, unable to answer, all she was able to do was nod.
Naruto turned his attention to the other girl, who seemed to be getting her bearings.
Finally able to see what she looked like.
Messily spiked ash-blond hair, that was held in a ponytail. She was stunning with her fair skin and red eyes that were currently staring up at him in confusion.
"Who the hell are you?!" Naruto raised a brow before grinning down at the stunned girls. Giving a little wave with one hand in his coat pocket, he introduced himself.
"Naruto Uzumaki or your savior, if you like" the girls were left floored, at his response, until they noticed something green in the corner of their eyes.
"You blond bastard!" The sludge villain that had been terrorizing the girls early, now towered over the blond delinquent. Madness was clear in its eyes.
"Oi, I'm busy here. Get lost." Naruto turned his attention back to the girls, ignoring the green monstrosity behind him.
Twitching eyes saw red, pulling back it's gunk like arm, it gave a hideous scream "You arrogant-"
Splat!
The force of Naruto's blow tore the sludge villain apart, splattering it all over the sidewalk. Civilians and heroes alike were left dumbfounded.
"Tch, what a nuisance" rolling his eyes, the blond delinquent, flicked the remaining sludge off his knuckles.
"Y-You beat it." Naruto turned his attention to the flustered greenette.
Smiling softly as he held his hands out for the girls to take. The ash-blond girl refused to take his hand, looking angry and embarrassed.
The freckled girl was taken aback at how big his hand was compared to her own. Squeaking as he easily picked her up, unintentionally tripping over her feet, crashing into the blond delinquent's chest.
"Easy there."
The sludge villain once again reformed, looking more menacing with less than half its body
"You think that was enough to get rid of me?! I'll kill you all!" Naruto stood protectively in front of the girls, activating his quirk, a demonic power surged through his veins.
Blue eyes shifted into a familiar hellish red, Naruto was ready to finish what he started, pulled his fist back covered in a red-black aura "Bring it, you piece of shit! Divergent-"
A giant blur appeared in front of the trio of teenagers. Stopping the sludge villain's attack with ease.
WHAM!
It was All Might. He looked over at the trio with a smile on his lips yet it looked slightly strained. Not from the power of the villian but something more personal.
"I truly am pathetic. Letting teenagers fight my battles, showing me what it means to be a hero."
"All Might-" the greenette whispered out, holding on to the blond delinquent even tighter.
"I'll take it from here, kids. Thank you" All might squared his shoulders, took a deep breath through his nose and punched the villain with a mighty roar, "Detroit SMASHHH!"
The force of his punch was almost indescribable, ripping apart the villain effortlessly. The environment around him changed, what was once a heavy drizzle was now clear sky's.
'This…is the number one hero?!' even Sukuna was left surprised for a moment, then he started to chuckle.
'It's good but nothing compared to our power.'
"You think you could win against All might?" Naruto said warily as he just watched the number one hero clear the sky with just wind pressure alone.
'Tch, I would have to use a little more power than I'd like but it should be doable.' The confidence in Sukuna's voice worried Naruto a little but it also made him curious about the limits of his power.
Was it truly possible for him to match or possibly defeat All might? If what Sukuna was saying was true then it left the blond excited to find out.
'Can you imagine it? The limits of our strength? No one could stop us, defeat us. We could have it all.'
'I don't want it all. I only want enough to find and kill him.!' Naruto felt Sukuna's lazy smile, waving his hand around mockingly.
'But what will we do after?'
'I…'
"H-Hey, um are you okay?" Naruto looked down to see bright innocent green eyes staring back. He couldn't help but smile at the girl.
"I'm fine. You?" Her hair moved with her little head bob, looking away shyly.
"Y-Yeah-" she was interrupted by pro heroes yelling, running until they surrounded the teens looking concerned.
"Hey, kids are you alright?!" Naruto waved off their concerns with a grateful smile.
The ash-blond girl looked deep in thought before managing to grunt out a quiet "I'm fine"
"Me too" the hero's rounded their attention on the freckled girl, almost looking annoyed.
"Young lady, what you did out there was really reckless." she seemed to shrink in on herself, looking hurt that the people she looked up to were reprimanding her.
Naruto brow twitched, unable to believe the nerve of these people, without hesitation he pulled her back gaining the hero's attention "At least she had the guts to do something, instead of sitting on her hands waiting for someone more powerful to show up. You are heroes! Act like it."
"Now wait a second-" but the blond delinquent just ignored them, dragging the freckled greenette by the wrist, pushing past the incoming reporters.
Unknowingly they were being watched. Red eyes narrowed in frustration.
"Thank you for what you said." Naruto looked over his shoulder at the quiet girl. By the way she held herself, he could see that she looked depressed and demoralized. So beaten down.
"I meant every word. What you did back there was amazing! More hero-like than any true hero, I've ever met" the girl was left dumbfounded by his words, unsure if he really meant it or not.
"R-Really? But I don't have a quirk" almost ashamed of admitting such a fact about herself, she was unable to meet his eyes.
"So?" Naruto looked confused, crossing his arms with a tilt of his head. "They all had quirks but couldn't do squat. At least you did something. You still fought even if you knew you couldn't win. Sounds like a hero to me."
A brief pause allowed the greenette to soak in his honest answer.
He had no idea how much those words truly meant to the girl, as someone who was kicked down her entire life because she was different, to have someone say that at one of her lowest points. It truly made all the difference.
The freckled girl flung herself at the blond, wrapping him in a tight hug. Naruto yelped, looking down in surprise.
"Thank you.." she said it in a whisper but Naruto heard it perfectly. Hesitantly he started to run his hand up and down her back while having a wry smile on his face.
The old useless dream she was about to throw away, becoming a hero, returned with a vengeance. Even if it was one person, it was more than what she had before.
Reluctantly she pulled away from his embrace, missing the warmth. She needed to know who he was "Who are you?"
With his signature Fox-like grin he held his hand out for her to take "Naruto Uzumaki"
"Izumi Midoriya" his hand was so different to hers, rough and coarse from obvious hard work. She wanted that.
To be strong, just like him.
"Hey!" The two turned to see it was the blond girl Naruto saved. She looked frustrated as she glared at them both. Her rosy coloured cheeks matched her eyes.
"Kachan?" Izumi had never seen her old best friend look so flustered before. Looking like she was visibly struggling to say what she wanted to say.
"I didn't need your help!" They weren't sure if it was possible but her cheeks were brighter than they were before, noticeable on her fair skin. She refused to make eye contact with either of them, especially Naruto.
"Eh?"
"But t-thank you" she marched away from the duo, tiny explosions going off in her palms.
Naruto was amused by the odd interaction, looking back down at Izumi "So can you tell me what that was about?"
"That's Kasumi Bakugou, I call her Kachan. Though I've never seen her so embarrassed before..." Izumi whispered, catching Naruto's attention as she started to cutely mumble to herself.
"Young Midoriya!" The number one hero himself appeared, startling the two teens. Between them both Izumi looked the most surprised.
Wondering why he was here after how their last conversation ended? Was he here to tell her off like the others?
"All might!?" She whispered in disbelief, his eyes softened, taking a deep breath the man looked like he had a million things to say but was unable to. In sudden movement he bowed deeply. Showing all his regret
"Young Midoriya, I'm sorry!" Izumi's eyes widened. The number one hero apologizing to her? All might seeing the confusion and shock gave a humble smile, "I was wron-hurk!"
"EHHHHHH?!" Naruto and Izumi cried out in a comedic fashion, All might burst into smoke, a skeletal figure replacing the behemoth of muscle with a sheepish smile, blood leaking from his mouth.
'Well well, this is the number one hero's true form? Hmmm… I'm sad someone already beat us to the punch' The blond ignored his other half, his face stuck in a scream of horror.
"Really pushed my limits today" the man started to run his thin fingers through his blond locks, unable to hold a chuckle at the other blonde's face.
"What the hell man?!" All might tried to brush off the younger man's question, laughing awkwardly at the pointing teen.
"It's kind of a long story ahah" Izumi stood quietly watching the interaction between the two blondes. Unable to help the quiet giggle that broke free.
"You can't just brush over this!"
All might turned his attention fully to Izumi, once again bowing in apology "Young Midoriya, I truly am sorry. I..I had forgotten what it truly meant to be a hero. You reminded me of someone very dear, who would have been so disappointed. Please forgive me."
"All might…" Izumi was quick to brush aside her tears, giving the skinny man a kind smile "Thank you"
"Also to you young man, thank you for holding off the villain. You truly have the makings of a great hero!" Naruto flushed at the praise, giving a simple thumbs up with a smile.
"Young Midoriya, I wish to make you my successor. If that's what you want"
"M-Me? Why me? I don't have a quirk. I'm just-" Izumi winced as she thought back to her horrible nickname, Deku, useless "Nobody"
"You're so much more. Having a quirk doesn't symbolize you having the makings of a hero, it's your conviction and actions that do" All might ruffled Izumi's hair, a fatherly smile on his lips.
Naruto felt a little awkward watching the display however he couldn't help but smile. Clearing his throat for their attention he held out his hand.
"Yo Izumi, if you ever want to hang out I could give you my number" Naruto nervously scratched the back of his head with his other hand, trying not to show any reaction to Sukuna's mocking laughter.
Izumi let a light 'oh' sound before timidly handing over her phone, never having a boy offer her his number before.
Naruto quickly took a snapshot of him giving the peace sign, entering his number and handed the phone back to the timid girl.
"I'll be seeing you Izumi!" Naruto gave a final wave towards both Izumi and All might. Leaving with his hands in his pockets.
He mused on how strange today was for him, but hey, seems like he made a new friend. Maybe things weren't so bad after all.
After the rather 'exciting' day, Naruto decided he needed to kick back and relax. What better way than to laze around, eating several cups of ramen while watching TV.
Grinning when he heard the 'click' of his kettle "Alright! Ramen time!"
Bang! Bang!
Naruto sighed in disappointment, cup in hand he dragged his feet as he slunked toward the entrance of his home, tiredly he started to open his door.
Eyes widening when his view was blocked by a wall of pure muscle, nearly dropping his ramen cup.
"Young Uzumaki, I see you're a young man of great character, it was clear when you saved young Midoriya and friend-" All might was shrouded by a giant cloud of white smoke, once again in his skeletal form, he leaned forward until his face was an inch away from Naruto's, once again having a sheepish smile "-So please keep all of this to yourself"
Naruto blinked owlishly at the number one hero, there was a brief silence before holding up a second instant Ramen cup "Would you like to come in for some ramen?"
Crickets chirping could be heard as the two continued to stare at one another, All might cracked first, laughing as he scratched his head.
"Ahaha!, you wouldn't happen to have shrimp flavor?" Naruto just chuckled as he ushered the skinny man inside.
The two blonds sat quietly slurping on noodles, sighing in contentment after each bite.
All might finally full, placing his empty cup down, turning his full attention to the younger blond. His somewhat playful appearance gone, now more serious "Thank you for the ramen, Young Uzumaki. I'm sure you're wondering why I'm here?"
Naruto with his cheeks bulging with noodles nodded. Thumping his chest as he swallowed them all in one go, sighing in content he turned his full attention back to the amused hero "Sorry about that" wiping his mouth with the back of his arm, he gave all might his full attention "Yeah. I mean, I get it's not to tell anyone your secret identity or something like that. You have nothing to worry about. I know how to keep my mouth shut."
"While lI appreciate that, it goes a bit deeper. It involves Young Midoriya" Naruto perked at the mention of the girl he just met today, frowning in confusion, thinking back he remembered that she was going to become All Might's successor.
"Izumi? Oh right you're gonna train her" the number one hero nodded, resting his bony chin on his palm.
"I am. I'm going to transfer my quirk, One For All" Naruto's eyes widened, leaning forward in excitement at the knowledge.
"You can transfer your quirk? I never knew such a thing was possible."
"There's a lot we don't know about quirks, mine in particular has been passed down eight times including myself. It gets stronger with each generation. There's no telling how strong young Midoriya will be. She may very well be stronger than I ever was." Naruto whistled in amazement but also started chuckling at the thought of such a tiny girl becoming as strong as the number one hero himself.
Picturing her head to toe covered in bulging muscle but still shy as a mouse. Deciding to push amusing thoughts to the side, he gave All Might his full attention once more.
"This is interesting and all but what does this have to do with me?" All might's thin face went grim, his tired eyes glazed over.
"The life of a hero is not an easy one. Even more so for the burden I'm going to place on her shoulders. Becoming the next symbol of peace." Naruto winced at the title, the weight and responsibility sounded like too much for anyone to bare "It's a tough road ahead. She will face villains with power you couldn't possibly imagine, one man in particular."
Unable to look away as the man lifted his shirt, showing off his bony frame, along with revealing a grotesque battle wound.
How the man was still alive he didn't know, unable to help but feel sympathy for the number one hero.
Naruto looked down in a form of shame, feeling upset that everyday he and many others put the weight of the world on this man.
"All might…" seeing the look the younger blond was giving him, All might have his signature smile, as thin and as small as it was.
"It comes with the territory of being a hero. Thanks to this wound, I can only do hero work for about three hours." All might sighed as the phantom pains irritated his side for a moment. After a brief silence, he spoke up once more, "The man who gave me this wound is still out there and I fear he'll be back soon. This is why I'm here"
"I'm ashamed to ask but I saw how strong you were today and I bet that isn't even the limit of your quirk. So I humbly ask Young Uzumaki to please watch over Young Midoriya. Help her grow to become the best hero she can be"
The importance of what he was asking shook Naruto, he looked down. Deep in thought. For so long he only ever wanted to be a hero for his own personal gain. But seeing the state All Might was in, what he was asking. It made things clear.
He didn't deserve to be a hero, not like him, not like Izumi.
'I've been so selfish haven't I? Spitting in the faces of the people who actually want to help others. People like you, All might'
'Has this changed things? Don't you still want to become a hero to find him?'
'No. Not anymore'
'Oh? So you won't try to find that man anymore? To get your vengeance?'
'I will get payback on that prick but I'm going to be more than an avenger. I want to be like All Might, I want to help Izumi. I want to be more than what I am'
'How noble. Do what you will, but don't forget what our goal is, Naruto. Never forget.''
"All might…" Naruto gave the number one hero a grin, eyes shining with a newfound determination "I'll help you and I'll help Izumi. I'll make sure she becomes the best damn hero this world has ever seen."
All might's sunken eyes brightened with gratitude, from the bottom of his heart he thanked the blond delinquent "Thank you, Young Uzumaki."
"I just have one question."
"Hm?"
"This man. The one who hurt you, who will come after Izumi. Who is he?" Once again the kitchen was filled with a dreadful silence, Naruto almost thought he wasn't going to respond.
"We call him All for one" All might said the name with such venom that it almost surprised the younger blond.
Closing his eyes in thought, he started to echo the name. Trying to picture what such a villain would look like but he couldn't.
No matter. When the time came, he would be ready for the bastard.
"All for one…" Naruto repeated the name, hands balling into fists. He wouldn't allow anyone to touch Izumi. He'd protect her to the best of his abilities, no matter what.
Winter had arrived, blanketing everything in thick white snow.
Almost everyone was either inside or wrapped up warmly in coats.
Everyone but Izumi.
Her number one goal was to get strong and build muscle. Tasked by All might to move scrap from one side of the beach to the other, as well as some cardio exercises to help her build stamina.
However she wasn't alone, watching from the sidelines was our favourite blond delinquent, sipping on a cup of coffee.
"Nice job Izumi!" Panting the tired girl managed to give a shaky thumbs up.
Naruto was impressed by her determination, nearly four months went by and she continued to work herself to the bone.
The blond decided enough was enough for the day, crouching down in front of the greenette, with a warm smile holding out a bottle of water.
Something she took happily. Greedily gulping down the water, the bottle crinkled and crunched by the time she was done.
"That was pretty good Izumi, with the way you're going you'll be ready for All Might's quirk in no time." Izumi green eyes lit up, gently taking his hand allowing him to lift her up effortlessly.
Stumbling on shaky legs, flushing at Naruto's knowing gaze.
"I think I pushed myself a little hard today." Izumi said, embarrassed that she had to lean against the muscular blond. Giving a cute little squeak as she found herself suddenly draped over Naruto's back.
She was greeted to the sight of whiskered cheeks pulled back into a grin, the poor girl practically melted at his bright grin, burying her face into his shoulder.
Strong hands cupped the back of her knees, thumb gently running over her smooth skin.
If anyone were to look at them, they'd be quick to assume it was just another young couple being fond of one another.
In little time Naruto reached the Midoriya household, small and modest but otherwise nice.
Ringing the doorbell, the duo only had to wait for a moment. Inko Midoriya, a small plump woman who always looked tired, answered the door eyes welling up with concern "Oh Izumi are you okay?!"
"I'm fine Kaa-san, just pushed myself a little hard today." Izumi's mother turned her attention to the blond delinquent, giving him a kind smile as she invited him inside.
"Hello Naruto, thank you for bringing Izumi home." Waving off her thanks, he gently placed the tired greenette on the couch.
"It was no problem Mrs. Midoriya."
"Well thank you anyway. Would you like to stay for dinner?"
"I wouldn't want to be a bother..."
"Please! It would only be right since you brought Izumi home safely, it's the least I could do." She persisted.
"Alright, I guess free food wouldn't be that bad. " Naruto relented with a chuckle, after debating with himself for a few seconds
The Midoriya household was warm and inviting. A bit Modest but you could tell it was a home.
Naruto couldn't help but drool when he smelled the heavenly aroma of Inko's cooking.
"That smells amazing! What are you cooking?"
"Just Saba Shioyaki, Nikujaga, Sunomono, Miso Soup and Genmai." the blond groaned as his stomach started to rumble even louder.
"Damn Mrs Midoriya, if only I could have a wife like you at home" Inko giggled at Naruto's flirting, slapping him on the arm as she went to the kitchen.
Feeling someone's eyes on him, he turned to see Izumi glaring up at him with her arms crossed.
Naruto was surprised by the usual timid girl, awkwardly scratching the back of his head with a weak laugh.
"Hey Izumi if it isn't much trouble do you mind helping me study. Please~" Izumi quickly crumbled, agreeing much to the whiskered blond's delight.
"Kaa-san, we're going to study"
"Okay!"
Naruto was practically dragged up the stairs, smiling down at the embarrassed greenette. When they finally reached her room, he couldn't wipe the grin off his face even if he tried.
All he could see was All Might's smiling face with his signature 'I am here!'. Izumi was unable to meet his gaze, her face fully flushed.
"Nice room" Naruto grunted as she playfully punched his arm, hesitantly sitting on her bed, playing with her hands.
'I've got a boy in my room!' Izumi squealed inside her head, heart racing as she watched said boy snoop all around her room. When he seemed to finish, he turned his attention back to her, massive grin still in place.
"Big All Might fan huh?"
"Y-Yeah…" Izumi brushed a bushy bang behind her ear, freckled cheeks glowing brightly. Unable to stop herself from throwing shy glances Naruto's way. Steeling herself she scooted closer, her hip nearly touching his own.
The whiskered blond glanced down at her with a raised brow and an amused smile on his lips, before shuffling closer himself, the two teens making full contact.
Slowly she reached out, freezing when she made contact. Naruto was quick to respond, his hand slowly curling around her own.
Izumi couldn't help but notice how warm he was, how good it made her feel. Heart thumping in her chest.
"Thank you for carrying me home." she felt goosebumps run up and down her arm every time his thumb made small circles on the back of her hand.
"No problem." Izumi seemed to steel herself, once again getting Naruto's attention as she stared deep into his eyes.
"Naruto…I-" She couldn't do it, not now. Looking away, fiddling with her hands "Thank you for being my friend and helping me"
"Izumi, you don't-"
"I do. For so long I didn't have anyone but Kaa-chan but now I have you and All might. Thank you for everything." It was quiet and was unable to meet his strong gaze. Izumi's eyes widened as Naruto pulled her into a one armed hug, her face resting against his neck.
They stayed that way for a couple of minutes, just enjoying each others company.
"Izumi, not to break the moment but I really need help with studying" Unable to stop the little giggle, Izumi separated from the blond. Smiling as she grabbed one of her many hero course books.
"You're hopeless, Naruto" shaking her head at his goofy grin, the two once again huddled together.
Izumi knew Naruto would get in, with his quirk and determination it was impossible for him not to get in.
All she could hope was she could get in, she wanted to grow and be the best hero alongside him.
No she would get in and nothing was going to stop her from achieving her dream.
Seven harsh months.
Seven harsh months of nothing but studying and training but it'll be all worth it.
He was getting closer and closer to his goal.
These were Naruto's thoughts as he stood before the entrance, eyes shining in determination.
With a grin the delinquent strode forward, hoping he'd see his friends before the test started.
Or he would have if it wasn't for the sound of running, whirling around he grunted as something or rather someone ran face first into his chest.
Looking down he saw a cute round face, framed perfectly by brown hair.
The pink marks on her cheeks became a dark red that steadily continued to grow.
"I uh! I'm sorry!" Naruto watched baffled as the girl ran past him, unable to stop a quiet chuckle.
"Well I better not hang around. Time to get this over with." Whiskered cheek twitched as a red eye and a fanged grin sprouted.
"Oh so it's finally time huh? One step closer to our goal" Sukuna words were true. They were closer, closer than they were before.
"Yeah…" Naruto whispered, eyes narrowing.
" Don't mess up kid" Sukuna sunk into the blond's skin, his message clear.
"I don't plan to" He wouldn't. He had too much resting on his shoulders, too many people depending on him.
He supposed he better get use to it, since that the life of a hero.
