Onto the Chapter!

"INDRA'S ARROW!"

"SIX PATHS: ULTRA-BIG BALL RASENSHURIKEN!"

The Valley of the End...

A scar on the Earth that had been left behind from the devastating battle between Hashirama Senju and Madara Uchiha. That however paled in comparison to the current battle taking place. Just like their predecessors, this battle would determine the future of this war-torn land.

Naruto and Sasuke were reincarnations of Indra and Asura, both sons of the the Sage of Six Paths. Both went down different paths... One faced hardships, yet prevailed with determination that was unrivaled. The other, went down a path of darkness to gain power only lose sight of what was truly important.

Seconds before the attacks collided, Kurama narrowed his eyes. 'That amount of chakra isn't normal. Tch, that Uchiha brat combined the Nine Biju's chakra into his Susanoo. Which means... his Susanoo is acting as a vessel for the chakra, in essence becoming a pseudo jinchuriki without sealing the Biju within himself.'

Millions of scenarios went through Kurama's mind as he thought about what lays ahead of this collision IF they survived. He hated to admit it, but at this point, they couldn't win. Preparing for the worst, the Kyuubi clapped his hands together. 'Forgive me my siblings... my other-half. I hope you understand why I did it.'

The two attacks collided created a shockwave that shook the heavens and earth. A massive storm covered the face of the planet that showed the pure destructive power of the two techniques.

There was a faint flicker of orange in the storm before returning to its grey colors. For a while, there was silence in the air. It was almost as if the world itself was anxious for the outcome. And then...

A lone figure fell down from within the large storm with orange aura dissipating from his body. The figure landed with a hard thud creating a dust cloud. The body laid eerily still, yet the steady breathing implied that the person was still living.

It was a young man around 17 years of age and with spiky blond hair. He had an athletic build with cerulean blue eyes. The most intriguing aspect were the three whisker marks on both of his cheeks. The name of this person was Naruto Uzumaki, the host of the Kyuubi no Kitsune.

His clothes, which were nothing more than rags now, were covered with holes and was on the verge of falling apart.

The young man tried to move, yet couldn't. He tried to mold chakra, yet he couldn't. Their was a terrifying silence within his mind, but try as he might, he didn't have the strength in him left to see his partner.

Naruto laid there waiting. He knew what was coming, yet he didn't try to avoid it. The sound of footsteps only confirmed suspicion.

Naruto's eyes were dull with seemingly no life left in them. He was too tired to speak, to fight, to cry, to do anything anymore. He failed everyone... Sakura, Sasuke, Kakashi-sensei, Ero-sennin, Baa-chan, Nagato, and Iruka-sensei.

He was anticipating for the Chidori to pierce his body one last time. 'Mom... Dad... I guess I'll be seeing you guys sooner than I thought.'

Naruto waited, yet the iconic sound of the Chidori never reached his ears. He used all of his strength to turn his head to face Sasuke only to see him sitting down with empty eyes. His blue eyes met the mismatched eyes of Sasuke Uchiha.

His face was covered with blood from constant use of his Doujutsu, his clothes were just as destroyed as his own, and his body was riddled with injuries that would kill a ninja of the highest caliber. The only real difference was the fact that Sasuke was still standing and he was not. Sasuke had more fight left in him while he didn't even have the energy to stand.

The two could only stay silent as their their eyes departed from each other's gaze. Before long, Sasuke spoke. "One day..."

What?

"I'll give you one day to get everything that belongs to you, and then, you're leaving this dimension entirely. If you're worried about your means of travel, meet me here in 24 hours." With just those few words, Sasuke got up and started walking away.

Confusion built up in Naruto's mind. What did this mean now? Didn't Sasuke want to kill him? What was his plan? All of his questions boiled down into one word.

"Why?"

Those words stopped Sasuke in his tracks. Without facing Naruto, he gave his answer. "It's because, you're my one and only friend."

"I see..."

He lost, and that was the reality he had to face.

The sound of water hit the ground as Naruto entered his mindscape. He would deal with the aftermath of him and Sasuke's fight. Right now, he needed to check up on Kurama. As he ran down the halls of his mindscape, he could see the silhouette of the large fox.

It brought relief to the blonde ninja but worry at the same time. After both his and Sasuke's techniques clashed, his partner stayed quiet. He would've liked to hear some snarky reply from Kurama, yet only silence reigned.

"OI, Kurama, you there?" Once he reached the room, he looked around and saw his partner Kurama lying down sleeping. Naruto ran up to Kurama and gave him a hug. The Kyuubi opened one of his eyes and smiled softly.

It was ironic really; in the past, the two were enemies that would go back and forth using each other's powers or body. Now, over the past few days, their bond and trust was unbreakable.

'How pathetic, a beast with power to reshape the world is now on the receiving end of a hug.'In the past, if someone came up and told him that a human would one day hug him, he would've destroyed that person with a Bijuudama all while laughing.

He wouldn't mind staying with Naruto, actually no, he would enjoy staying with Naruto, not that he would admit this of course. He could imagine a world where his siblings were free from oppression, seeing Naruto become Hokage, and even raise his own children. However, sometimes reality is far too cruel, plus Naruto's life was more important than his anyway...

"Naruto come here." The large beast signaled Naruto to come sit in front of him. Naruto, although confused, did as he was told. "Can you move?"

Perplexed by his question, he left his mindscape to see if he could move hid body only to be surprised that he could actually move. Naruto entered back into his mindscape. It seemed like a miracle! He chalked it up to his and Kurama's healing, but realized that fatigue isn't something that heals quickly. Not to mention the amount of damage that he sustained from Indra's Arrow.

Naruto thought about it some more. As much as he hates to so it, but, he should've died from Indra's Arrow. It's like putting a massive portion of the Juubi's chakra into one attack, no, that's exactly what Sasuke did. Even with the amount of Nature Energy he absorbed, it shouldn't have been enough.

That would mean that he should've died, not alive , let alone moving! Meaning...

Naruto started putting the pieces together and realized something. He stood up immediately and grabbed Kurama's fur in anger. "OI KURAMA! What the hell did you do? There's no way I can heal from all that damage this quickly. If you did something stupid, I won't forgive you!"

Kurama only smirked in response letting out a gentle smile. "Heh, it seems you can actually use your brain. Naruto, even someone with your strength wouldn't have survived that Uchiha's attack. He used the chakra of all the Bijuu including my other half's chakra as well. We didn't have nearly enough Nature Energy in our own attack to negate it let alone overpower it."

The blonde ninja fell to his knees having a hard time accepting this truth "Please tell me you didn't do it..."

Receiving no reply, he already had gotten his answer. There was just a tired look on Kurama. Naruto could sense it, Kurama was dying, and there was nothing he could do about it. "We're partners right?"

"Yes we are."

"What about your other half? What's going to happen to him too?" Naruto's voice was ragged.

"Our souls are bound together. If I go, then my other half goes too. We might not be one, but I know myself very well. He would've done this as well."

"Are you really serious about doing this? I mean c'mon we fought a whole war together. We practically saved the world. I'm sure you're just joking." Naruto stood up and started walking around acting as if everything was okay. He even put on a smile while trying to laugh. "Alright, Kurama, play time's over, we need to start thinking of our future now."

"Kit, you're going through denial..."

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP! SHUT UP!" The once fake smile adorned on Naruto's face turned into despair as he had to face the reality that the one who had been there since the beginning was really going to die.

"What about my promise to you and your siblings? Don't you want them to be free?" His voice was filled with anger. It made Kurama sad that Naruto was acting like this.

"I do, but you've done more than enough. You've suffered more today and throughout your life than anyone else, and because of that, you deserve to live more than me." Clouds started surrounding Kurama picking up the Kyuubi gently There was no malice within the Kyuubi as he started to get farther from Naruto's reach.

"Wait... Don't go! We still have so much more to do in this world! I'M BEGGING YOU!" He tried to reach him, but to no avail.

"I don't have much time left, so I will explain to you what I did, listen closely. Before attacks collided, I gave you my lifeforce. You will gain an extended life, increased regeneration, and become a pseudo Kyuubi yourself gaining nine tails and fox ears. Not a bad gift, think of it as an apology for screwing up your life. Hey, you'll get to be amazing like me." As Kurama's explanation reached its end, his body weakened even more.

"Well this is it, you'll continue having my chakra and your powers, but do be careful. The universe is big and you won't have me around to stop you from doing stupid things, so don't be rash or you'll end up joining me in no time." Kurama's eyes started closing as the clouds shrouded Kurama even more.

"You be well... Naruto." After that, Kurama vanished within the clouds leaving no trace of him whatsoever. The room that housed Kurama was empty. What was left were the shadow of nine tails that weren't his own.

"He's really gone..."

The doors opened slowly which revealed a nice apartment. There was dust on just about every countertop, furniture, or anything within that apartment. This was the Fourth Hokage and his wife's home.

The person who entered was Naruto. His eyes were lifeless and empty, as he entered the apartment. His soft foot steps echoed throughout the house as he collected his parent's item. While walking around, his eyes landed on a portrait with his mother and father. He picked it up before sealing it into a scroll.

Naruto felt nothing as he looked at the photos, the items that he owned, nothing was felt at all. There was a void in Naruto's heart. At this point he had nothing to lose, he had practically lost everything in one day: his home, his loved ones, and his will to continue living.

After sealing the last of his and his parent's items, he put the large scroll on his back and prepared for his last few hours within the Elemental Nations. As he closed the door to his parent's apartment, he couldn't help but wonder what life would've been like with them.

He brushed that thought away and jumped down into the empty streets of Konoha. The once bustling village was nothing more than a ghost town.

He made sure to take time to visit his favorite places such as the Hokage Monument, Ichiraku Ramen, the Hokage's office, and lastly his late parent's grave

"Hey mom, this is probably the last time I'll be able to visit you, so I'm going to say some things before I leave the Elemental Nations. I'll always remember that both you and dad loved me. I wish that we could've spent more time together as a family. I'm sure we would have a great time pranking the village and eating ramen. I was happy when I met you that one time, although the circumstances were a little weird." Naruto rubbed the back of his head a little sheepishly.

"I'm sorry to request this of you, but please wait for me. I won't be seeing you and dad for a long time, and just like me, I bet you really aren't a patient person. Take care mom." He eyes were dull yet displayed sadness. Even though his circumstances was bad, he still wanted to tell his parents how much he loved them. After giving his prayers to his mother, he went to his father's grave.

"Dad, you really were a badass. I was so happy fighting alongside you and talking to you. I'm sorry for disappointing you. I guess I couldn't become Hokage after all. Sometimes I wonder what you would do, but it's hard knowing that you're not here. I've already told mom this, but please wait for me. It'll take longer than usual, but I'm sure you can wait, you were always were more level headed than her. Thanks for everything dad." After that was said, Naruto dropped to his knees with a hand on his eye. The act of holding his emotions in were difficult. He owed it Kurama who gave his life for him to keep on living.

However, everyone has a limit, one can't hold it in forever. He didn't cry when he lost to Sasuke. He didn't cry when he lost Kurama, but bottling up these feelings would only make it harder.

"It's too damn hard! Damn it! Damn it! Why can't I just move on! MOM! DAD! KURAMA! I FAILED! I can't do this anymore! Please... I need help! I'm such a failure! I'm such a failure! I... I'm trying to live, but it hurts too damn much! The idea of failing my to save my precious people! The prospect of losing someone important again! The thought that I will never achieve my dream!" As Naruto said this, tears slid down Naruto's cheeks as he let it all out. He rolled around on the ground screaming out to the sky his frustrations. He punched the ground in hopes that it will fix everything in hopes that something, anything would happen. His efforts were in vain as no one came and that nothing happened.

The irony of grief is that the person that you need to talk to about how you feel is no longer here.

Sasuke waited, he was emotionless as he waited for his rival to show up. His body seemed relaxed, but in reality was prepared should Naruto come back preparing for another fight.

He had prepared his mind for killing Naruto, the last bond he had, yet something within him stopped him from committing the deed. He didn't know how to feel about that. He acknowledged, respected, and considered the blonde his friend.

Possibly, some part of him couldn't accept himself doing that, to do the same things Itachi had done before. He wouldn't lose a part of himself, not now, not never. He'll change the shinobi system, with his own ideology, through his own revolution. Killing Naruto had nothing to do with that.

It's possible that Naruto could come back and challenge him again, but he'll be ready and even stronger, and he'll just repeat the same process.

His thoughts were cut off when he sensed Naruto's chakra signature arriving. 'Good, he's on time.'

Sasuke's eyes scanned the area before seeing the blonde; his eyes widened when he saw the blonde's transformation. Nine orange tails were swishing behind the blonde and there were even fox ears on Naruto's head.

He was dressed in an orange long sleeved shirt with black stripes going down each sleeve. He wore black pants that complemented his bright shirt. On his back was a large scroll which Sasuke assumed where he put his belongings.

The last Uchiha walked towards Naruto and decided to speak first. "It seems you really are prepared to leave. It's fine, it's the best choice besides killing you anyway."

Naruto remained silent only taking in Sasuke's word. Sasuke noticed that Naruto's face looked like a mess. It was probably best to not mess with the blonde right now. "Naruto, before you leave, I'm going to tell you what's going to happen. I won't kill anyone unless they directly attack me first, but even then, I'll be lenient out of respect for you. You will be announced dead to the whole world. The shinobi system will change and I will bring about peace my way."

Naruto nodded, implying that he understood what that meant. "Sasuke, take care of everyone for me." Naruto put of his left arm up preparing to undo the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

Sasuke nodded and put up his right arm forming the rat seal with Naruto. By doing this, everyone was in that was in their fake world was brought back to reality.

"It's done, I'm going to prepare the portal out of this world completely." Sasuke's Rinnegan emitted power and after a few seconds, a purple portal opened up. "You have to hurry, I don't have much experience let alone control doing this. I can only hold this up for a maximum of a minute before it closes."

"I see, I guess this is it Sasuke."

Before Naruto got a chance to start walking through, Sasuke said one more thing. "Naruto... I'm sorry for everything." Doing something that was uncharacteristic, Sasuke stuck his fist out.

Naruto's eyes widened a little unsure of whether or not to return his fist bump. A part of him wanted to slap his fist away and leave, but in the end, he bumped Sasuke's fist with his own. "I won't forgive you, but I won't hate you. I lost and it's something that I have to accept no matter how much I hate it."

"Even still, I don't want for you to leave with bad blood between us."

Naruto let out a small smile. His worries were washed away a little once Sasuke said that. "You're right, I guess I'm just being childish. Sayonara... Sasuke."

Naruto walked up to the portal taking a deep breath. He looked back at Sasuke and the Elemental Nations before leaving the Elemental Nations entirely.

"Hmpf, good bye Naruto."

A/N: YO! Back with another story! Wanted to try this one out. Hope you guys enjoy it; I don't think someone has done this before the way I've done it. I've recently read a Naruto and Yasaka fanfiction, and needless to say, I enjoyed it thoroughly. Now, it's my turn to do my take on it! Tell me what you all think of it! If you enjoy it, then I'll be sure to update it alongside my other one!

Hope you all don't get mad about how Naruto entered DxD. I just chose a route that was different that anything else. I'm like 100% sure that no one has done this before (P.S. This is the part where you guys tell me I'm wrong and that I'm not original at all.)

Some people might be wondering about Sakura's and Kakashi's whereabouts, so I decided to explain it here. This chapter was Naruto centric in that we're exploring the grief that Naruto has. Sakura and Kakashi are in a different area awaiting the conclusion of Naruto and Sasuke's fight. They don't know that the fight already ended. By the time they do, Naruto's already gone.

Naruto will be OOC at first, but he will begin to gain back his former self over time. Think of it like this, Naruto is lost in darkness right due to the events that happened to him. He needs a new light to pull him out of there and give him more life, hence the title of the story.

So then, tell me what you think of this story!

Pairing: Naruto x Yasaka

If you want a harem then give me your opinions. I'm thinking about single-pairing this time, but what about you all?

On a side note, I might come back to this chapter and rewrite it and add more to it.
