Chapter Eleven:

To say that the young Witch known as Hermione Granger was quite surprised when she got to see her new acquaintance's (or perhaps even friend) pet was quite the understatement. While Cydaea was quite intimidating (mainly due to her size), the Taratect had very soft fur and was actually quite the cuddlebug. Though she did hiss somewhat menacingly at the witch's poorly worded observation on the Taratect's size (which could have been interpreted as Hermione implying that Cydaea was fat).

Something that earned Hermione raised eyebrows from quite the few people was something that she always wore around her neck. A rather unassuming hex nut turned into a necklace with a chain. When Shalltear commented on the strangeness of making a hex nut of all things into a necklace, it revealed something quite interesting about the hex nut. Before the nut was being used as a necklace, it was used in the engine room of one of the most famous (or infamous) war ships during World War II. The Tirpitz. Which prompted Enuma to ask the obvious question:

"Does your family have roots in Germany?"

"Probably? The nut has been in the family for a few generations by now." Answered Hermione with a slight shrug.

"Interesting. I'm not sure what, but there's definitely something special about that hex nut. I would keep it with me at all times if I were you. Who knows? It might actually save your life at some point."

"You don't actually believe that do you?"

"Perhaps I do, perhaps I don't."

"You're not going to tell me are you?"

"For now, but I hope that I won't have to." Stated Enuma cryptically as Hermione nodded in acceptance that she wouldn't get the redhead to elaborate on what she meant before leaving.

"You sensed it two right?" Inquired Shalltear once the bushy haired witch was out of earshot.

"Yes. There's no doubt about it. That nut holds some kind of presence. Almost like a Sacred Gear but at the same time not." Replied Enuma, who was looking in the direction where Hermione had been going.

"That doesn't make any sense."

"Maybe so, but we live in rather strange times, don't we?"

"True. Think she'll be a good asset for the Peerage?"

"Perhaps. Though what piece she'd be is something that we'll have to wait to see."
