Luffy woke up to Nami stroking his cheek.
"Good morning, sleepyhead."
When he sat upright, she was already heading out the door though, and he pouted after her before he yawned. Scratching his armpit, he heaved himself to his feet and padded after her to the living room where breakfast was set out on the coffee table.
She drank some coffee and creamer while he settled with his tea with a happy moan. He slurped some of his soup before he switched to eat the tamagoyaki.
As he was digging into the salmon, he sighed. "I married the best cook in the world."
Nami sniffed at that, but she smiled. When her phone went off, she frowned before she turned it over, but she began to eat quicker.
"You're gonna give yourself a tummy ache. Isn't that what you tell me?"
"Well, work is calling," she said with a sigh. Her eyes shot to her phone though it hadn't gone off, and Luffy settled back with a pout.
After years of dating, they had finally married, and everything had appeared to be bliss. However, he had realized that her job had begun to call upon her more and more as time went on. Their living life had hardly changed with the inclusion of a marriage license, but everyone else was still surprised she was working.
Luffy didn't see the point in making her stop doing what she loved. They both agreed kids could still wait, and Luffy was happy to help with the house chores even when he came home exhausted from the fire station. As it was, Nami was carefully saving up money for a bigger place for them.
"We'll live in a house or a big apartment!"
But her pinched eyes worried him. Nami gulped down the rest of her coffee before she murmured a thanks for the food. When she was about to rush past him, she stopped short to kiss the top of his head.
"I'm heading out now. I'll see you tonight." She pulled her hair up into a quick ponytail, frowning.
"Come back safe!" Luffy watched her go to the door to slip into her high heels, and he watched long, stockinged legs whisk out the door.
It clicked shut behind her, leaving Luffy alone. He frowned at the remainder of her food but ate it as well.
When she came back tonight, he could imagine how she'd slide those tights off her legs, and he grunted to clear his throat. Maybe, he could slide them off of her, or leave them on, and break into them so he could make her forget about work.
She was working hard, so she deserved new tights anyway.
Nami slumped inside, kicking her high heels off before closing the door behind her. Luffy looked up from the dishes and winced while she headed straight into the kitchen.
She smiled at him though. "I'm home."
"Welcome back." He kissed her cheek, and she blushed - still even when it was just the two of them.
When he turned to her, reaching down to squeeze her hips, she darkened more, but she said, "Not tonight. I just wanna eat and fall asleep."
His hands drew away, and he frowned, but he went back to finish the dishes he had left to soak all day. Nami went to work getting dinner started, and he handed her pots and pans as he finished cleaning and drying them. Soon, delicious scents wafted his way, and Luffy dried the last dish before he cleaned the sink out.
He peeked over Nami's shoulder and sniffed the karaage that was sizzling away in the oil. Nami pouted over her shoulder at him. "Are you being naughty and smelling my hair? I said not tonight."
Luffy blinked before he muttered, "I was smelling the food ... smells good."
Stiffening, Nami whispered, "Sorry."
After a moment, he slipped her hair back to kiss her cheek again. "I'll clear the table."
Bending over the coffee table, Luffy wiped it down, muscles stretching and aching while he moved around on his knees. Even with no calls in the day, he was low enough in the ranks to still do all the daily checks required of his profession.
He supposed some sexy rewards could wait for their day off. Except when he glanced at the calendar, he frowned as he searched for a nice, quiet day where they both didn't work.
His days bled into the weekends too often, and while Nami had weekends off, she sometimes went into the office anyway.
After Nami set the table, they said their thanks.
Still considering the calendar, Luffy took a shot and asked, "Do you wanna go out to dinner tomorrow?"
They could have a nice dinner at her favorite restaurant, get a few bottles of sake in her and then play her favorite game of 'fuck the drunk girl until she squeals'. Especially if he could rip open those stockings.
"I'm going out with coworkers tomorrow," she said.
And that was that.
Luffy woke when Nami did, rubbing his eyes. He rolled onto his knees and yawned widely.
She raised a brow at him. "I'm just getting ready. Go back to bed."
"Mnwanna rip yer stockings off," he mumbled.
Nami blushed, but she said, "I'm not wearing any. Get back to sleep, Luffy. I'll have breakfast ready in a bit."
When he opened his eyes next, it was because Nami was shaking his shoulder.
"Good morning, sleepyhead. Breakfast's ready."
He stared before he slumped back with a sigh. "Oh, I wanted ..."
She giggled. "Yes, I heard, but we don't have time for that, Luffy. I have your tea the way you like too."
Grumbling, Luffy crawled out of the futon to join her at the coffee table again. With a thanks for the food, he sipped the tea. "I wanted to help you out this morning."
Nami paused with her chopsticks in her mouth, eyes wide before she smiled. "You don't need to do that. Besides, you can't even boil water. Never mind making rice. Just get some sleep while you can."
"What about your sleep though?" Luffy watched for her expression, but she only tilted her head.
"That still doesn't mean you can cook."
He winced. "I can ... learn?"
The look she shot him - as if she were processing that possibility - made his shoulders hunch.
"Hey! I can learn stuff too, yanno!"
When she opened her mouth, her cell phone went off, and she sighed. Luffy glared at it, but she ate faster anyway. He realized that her hair was already up in a bun this morning. He wanted to reach over to tug on that one strand that never wanted to stay back, but she rose and hurried to the door.
"I'm heading out. I'll see you tonight."
"Come back safe," he said, waving her goodbye.
She stopped with a jerk, slipping out of her heels to kiss his temple before she ran back for the door again.
Luffy sighed and finished breakfast alone again.
Nami came home drunk, and Luffy handed her water bottle to her when she stumbled inside.
She giggled and tried to wink at him, but he just smiled in amusement. It wasn't quite what he wanted anyway. A night alone with his wife while he treated her to drinks while she slowly grew tipsier and tipsier and pressed against him like they were still dating ...
Except, this wasn't what had happened. She had gone drinking with her coworkers. And besides that, they hadn't talked about it beforehand. Luffy helped wash her face and tucked her into bed with a kiss though before going to sit in the dark at the coffee table with his ramen from the frozen section.
While he scrolled through cooking videos, he deflated more as time went on. Why did breakfast look like such a pain? A pot for soup, maybe a pan for tamagoyaki, and then the pan for fish. He thought he understood how the rice maker worked now, but he didn't want to waste any of their rice on his own mistakes.
He stared at the screen until his eyes watered, and then put his glasses on when he remembered them. They only eased the strain so much though.
When he stopped at one video, he blinked blearily before he pursed his lips.
Wouldn't this be simpler?
The only problem was finding the right ingredients, but Nami was the one that went grocery shopping.
With a wince, Luffy scrawled a list for himself to hide in his coat pocket before he crawled into bed with Nami. He woke to her pouting at him.
"I tried waking you up earlier."
Breakfast was set on the table, and her food was half-eaten again. She left with her hair tied back in her stockings and high heels, and Luffy wondered what was the point of cooking breakfast for her if she couldn't stay the whole time anyway.
Luffy stared at the package, squinting and wishing he had remembered to bring his glasses. He didn't normally need them at work after all. Nami told him he looked handsome in them, but he didn't think that merited wearing them all the time when he only needed them for reading anyway.
Eventually, he put the package in his cart before moving onto the next area in the refrigerated section. His hands hovered over the eggs, mind racing.
"Chicken ... quail ... duck ...? Uh ... I think we use chicken. Everyone else does, right?" He ground his teeth while his mind tried its best to not fry in his skull. Was there even a difference? "Quails eggs are too small ..."
Calling himself too dumb to figure it out, he grabbed the carton of chicken eggs before going on with a flush. He couldn't remember Nami getting duck eggs anyway.
Maybe.
He thought.
Luffy went back to grab the duck eggs.
With his haul spread out over the small counter, Luffy pursed his lips in concentration. He rolled his sleeves up and revved his arms.
This was a new task after all. He would have to move in ways he wasn't used to, right?
Another thought struggled to reveal itself in his mind, but he shrugged it off.
Luffy started the stove and stared at the flames before he remembered that cooking eggs usually were in that small round pan.
Except, he couldn't find the small one, so he plopped the large one down.
"Butter, butter," he said, frowning around the kitchen. He inspected the stick of butter before putting the whole thing inside. It was a bigger pan anyway, so it needed more butter than a small pan.
As that sizzled behind him, Luffy opened the chicken eggs with an excited grin until he perked.
"I can practice with more eggs in a bigger pan too! I'll crack all of 'em inside!"
Thus intended, he began breaking eggs to let them sizzle beside the lump of melting butter.
Luffy opened the pancake box next, frowning when he found a bag of powder inside. "Huh? Where're the pancakes?" He turned the box around. "I thought this was full of pancakes, so ... directions ... for mixing."
He sweated for a moment, staring at the back of the box before he looked at all the eggs that were cooking in the pan.
"Ah! I need one of those!" He took a spatula to scrape about the size of an egg into a bowl. "Huh? Why's it sticking? Come on, I need an egg to make the pancakes!"
When he managed to get what looked like an egg into his bowl, Luffy dumped what was in the bag on top of it.
"Okay, egg and milk ... milk, milk." Luffy picked up the carton from the counter, pouting over it. "You don't need directions, right?"
Seeing none, he poured some into his bowl before he whisked it all together.
He whisked it all ... together.
Luffy stared at the lump of cracking dough stuck in his whisk.
"Uh, isn't it supposed to be more runny?"
Grimacing at the dry glob, Luffy grabbed the carton and dumped the whole quart into the bowl.
Slamming his head on the counter, Luffy stared at the mess set on display.
"Nami's gonna kill me."
With a grunt and a sigh, he set himself to eat the burnt mess to hide as much as possible from her.
When she returned home, Luffy's head was resting on the coffee table while he grimaced at the corner and held a complaining stomach. A whole bag of burnt pancake mix and eleven burnt eggs was a lot more than he had expected, and his stomach could only stretch so much.
"I'm home ... what's that smell?"
He winced, but mumbled, "Uh, what smell?"
"Luffy, have you been trying to cook? I thought we agreed you wouldn't."
She opened the fridge, and for a moment, Luffy considered distracting her by asking her what was for dinner. But then, she was too quiet for too long. Nami tilted her head before she raised a brow back at him.
"Why do we have duck eggs?"
"Uh," he said, sweating as he peeked over at her. She stood straight with the carton in her hand and peered inside at the full dozen.
"Luffy, if you wanted to get some eggs for the fridge, you could at least grab the right kind." Sighing, she set the carton on the counter though and got her apron. "I guess we can have ramen with duck egg for a change though. It might be nice."
She bustled around the small kitchen, and Luffy studied her small, practiced movements, wilting at how easy she made it work.
"Sorry," he whispered, and she jerked in surprise before she smiled at him, exasperation and exhaustion making her eyes pinch into her nose, but she smiled.
"Just leave the cooking to me. At least, you cleaned up after yourself."
A rich waft of ocean scents filled the tiny apartment in what seemed like seconds. Nami smiled tiredly as she sipped from her tasting spoon when steam began drifting from the pot. Her frazzled hair framed her bowed face, and he wanted to smooth it back. To kiss her forehead.
With a sigh, Luffy dug his phone out to turn the sound off and watch more cooking videos.
His phone went off, and Luffy hurriedly jabbed at the button to make it stop.
Four in the morning.
He crawled out of bed with a glance back at Nami, but she groaned something in her sleep. She had kicked the sheets off and thrown her pillow into the corner again. Luffy smiled at her, smoothed her hair from her face, and sighed before he slinked to the kitchen.
Turning the small light over the counter on, Luffy took a moment to find the small pan this time. He set it on the stove and checked that the stove was on before he pulled his phone out to set it where he could watch at the same time.
Luffy was all out of pancake mix, but there were still eggs, and Nami had gotten bread.
His eyes glued to the screen, biting his lip as he slowly followed what was happening on the screen.
"If it looks the same, that means I'm doing it right ... right?" Luffy gritted his teeth, processing the melting butter in the pan, and watched how it coated the bottom of the pan before they put eggs inside.
Just two, but Luffy cracked only two eggs into the pan this time.
But the yolks were more orange than the ones on the screen. He glanced between the screen and what was in his pan before he shook it off.
"Just don't burn it," he whispered, watching the pan and the screen as much as he could. Spatula in his hand, he fiddled his fingers over the handle. Breath caught in his throat, Luffy glanced back at the door to their little bedroom.
No movement yet.
Back to the pan, Luffy licked his lips before he dared to check the other side of the eggs with his spatula.
It wasn't burnt.
Luffy glanced at the screen before looking at the eggs again while he sweated. "Is it ready?"
He bit his lip, staring hard at the eggs before he dared to flip them with the spatula, and sighed in heavy relief. When he glanced at the screen, they flipped their eggs with a practiced turn of their wrist, but Luffy wasn't sure if that added flavor. He noticed them turn the heat off, so he did so in turn, not really sure why they did that.
Letting the eggs sit in the pan, Luffy put bread in their toaster, not touching the setting because toast was the only thing he couldn't burn if he didn't play with that knob.
He changed the video to the next item on his list and set the small pan aside to place the larger pan on the stove before he turned it back on when he saw the video person do it. If they did it, he would do it.
For a moment, he hesitated with the butter when they placed none inside. Had he remembered that wrong?
Biting his lip, Luffy set the butter aside before he carefully placed the bacon into the pan where it sizzled in quite the satisfactory way. The immediate scent of salt and rich pork hit his senses, and Luffy's eyes widened in shock.
It smelled good.
He wasn't burning it.
Yet.
Luffy glanced at the video, poised to move with his spatula. His fingers wiggled over the handle as he held his breath and read the subtitles going across the screen.
He was going to get this right if it killed him!
"Luffy!"
Spinning around, he faced his wife as a thunderhead formed over her face.
"I told you that you can't cook in here! Turn that stove off before you burn the apartment building down!"
"Huh? But - I - Nami, I wanna - I was gonna-"
When she stepped into the kitchen, the toaster popped, and she jumped in surprise, blinking at the toast sticking out before she turned to see the pan with the eggs inside. Nami's eyes widened before she slowly turned to the bacon.
She blinked, and tears began flowing down her cheeks.
"Huh?"
Luffy hunched his shoulders, but rushed to her side, thumbs instantly stroking tears away. "Nami? I'm sorry. I'll stop if you really want. I just wanted to let you sleep for a change!"
Her face crumpled before she pressed it into his chest with a sob.
"I'll turn it off, okay? Just don't cry." His arms coiled around her head, stroking her hair, and Nami tugged his pajama shirt with a sniffle.
"I ... what are you doing this for? I don't ..."
"I miss you," he said, and her hold tightened, pulling harder as her sobs shook her entire body. "I'm sorry, I'll turn it off."
He reached for the stove, but she grasped his wrist, peering up at him with a tear and snot-stricken face. "No, I'll ... I miss you too, idiot."
Brow creased, Luffy smiled after a moment. "What're you crying for then?"
"Mn, don't make me say it."
Smile growing, he kissed her forehead before he kissed her little nose. "I love you."
Color blossomed across her cheeks, but Nami sniffled. "That's not fair."
With a snicker, Luffy asked, "You wanna help me out?"
"I might have to," she said with a pout, but she glanced around what was already there. "It smells good so far though."
Luffy glanced at the bacon before he gaped at the finished bacon on the video. "Ah! Wait, should I flip it now? What happened?"
Laughing, Nami grabbed a tissue from the living room to clean her face. "Videos speed time up sometimes, Luffy. I don't think you need to flip the bacon yet."
He pouted back at her. "Why're you so good at all this? I don't get it."
"I wasn't always good at it," Nami said as she came back to check on what he had before she took out the plates to set the eggs on them. She buttered the toast while smiling at him, and Luffy blinked, flushing when he realized she was the one watching him cook now. "I watched Bellemere-san all the time, but that didn't make me good until I started practicing."
Relaxing, Luffy grinned back. "I bet you didn't burn a hole in your school though."
She pursed her lips as she eyed what he was doing closer. "Well, no."
Luffy laughed before he tilted his head at the sizzling and crackling bacon and decided to take a chance to flip it. "This is really going, huh?"
"Bacon's very fatty," she said. "You can cook eggs in the bacon fat too. I've heard it's delicious."
His eyes lit up. "Ah! I wanna try that!"
She smiled. "When the bacon's done, crack some eggs in then."
He paused, glancing at the bacon with a nervous shrug. "Ah, well, but if I burn it ..."
"I'll watch you," she said dryly. Nami slipped around him, setting the coffee machine before she also turned on the little kettle for his tea.
She set one of the plates on the table to make room in the tiny kitchen, but returned to his side, all warm eyes and smiles for him.
When they finally sat at the table, he stared at the spread he had made, still too shocked that nothing was charred.
Nami's hair was down, not yet brushed, and she wore no makeup. However, as she bowed her head over her hands pressed together, she was still smiling away. She had been since the tears had dried. He realized that she still looked tired, and she was not dressed for the day yet, sitting in her large oversized shirt.
His oversized shirt.
Gazing at her, Luffy licked his lips before he pressed his hands together.
"Thanks for the food."
She grinned at him, eyes aglow.
Her eyes widened when he yanked her against his body to swallow her kiss. Nami's soft moan had him grasping her hips, and she molded to his body like a puzzle piece fit to complete him. One quick hoist against him, Nami wrapped her legs around him with a squeal.
As their lips parted, so he could kiss down her throat, sliding his hands over her smooth thighs, Nami gasped and whispered, "Luffy, we - we have to go to work!"
"Mmhmm," he agreed as he latched onto her throat. A sharp exhale later, she tugged at his hair.
He ground small circles against her, smiling at her flushed face. Her hair flared behind her, creating a halo on the floor.
With a pleased sigh, Luffy bowed to kiss down her body. "Thanks for the meal."
"Idiot," she whispered as he lifted her shirt.
Gasping, Nami arched to his touch when he pulled aside her lace panties to stroke through wet folds. Her pulse thudded against his fingertips and then his tongue when he ducked between her thighs.
Sweet salty goodness - her sweet sweat, her salty juices - coated his lips and tongue. When he moaned against her, Nami tightened with a buck against his face before he held her hips down. He panted against her cunt, wrapping his tongue around her clitoris. Sharp tugs in his hair urged him on, sucking and slurping until he thrust his tongue into her.
Inside, she tasted like rich candy. He thrust as deep as his tongue would allow, and her hips trembled under his grip.
"Luffy, Luffy!"
Her legs spread wider, crying out while he laved his tongue in circles inside her hot reaches. As he peered at her, he could only see her breasts arching to the ceiling, her hair sometimes flying as her head tossed side to side. Nami squeezed his tongue, and he lapped at her front wall for her end.
Luffy latched around her cunt and clitoris, moaning when she squealed. Her jerks became more ragged, panting his name until a raw moan made him thrust his tongue faster. All around his tongue, Nami's cunt pulsated while her hips bucked, engorging on his tongue.
When he crawled over her, opening his pants, Nami trembled underneath him, whimpering when he took her. Her back arched, and he groaned as she writhed. Lips parted in shock while he rocked inside of her, and Nami's eyelashes fluttered, eyes rolling back as if she was trying to concentrate on staying lucid.
It was her favorite though. Being taken after she came. Taken while she was still aching and sensitive. She scratched into his back as heat sucked him deeper into her still twitching cunt.
"I missed this too," he whispered.
Nami quivered, flushing as he licked his lips. "Ah, don't ... don't say that. I can't - I just can't keep cumming like this!"
His breath quickened, rocking faster. "That's because we haven't tried enough. We need to keep this up again, Nami. You deserve a nice hard cock in you."
She shook her head, but her eyes also teared up, panting as she writhed. "Just cum in me! Luffy, cum in me!"
"Fuck, I thought you'd never ask!" Grabbing her thighs, Luffy spread them out to her sides, pinning her with his hips, and her eyes bulged.
Squeaking, Nami's hips tried to jerk against his thrusts with a whimper, and he sucked onto her neck to hear her pant in his ear. Her hands threaded into his hair again, and Luffy let himself drown in the slapping of their hips and the puffs against his ear.
A thrill ran through his spine. She writhed to him - his touch and hips as he slammed inside. With each squeal, Luffy wanted to cave and pour inside.
Except, it might end with that. All his hard work - the grocery to the cooking - was it all just for a few short moments this morning?
"Nami," he whispered.
She squirmed when he laid over her, his hips slowing to drag out the tremulous sensations that coursed through him. Nami moaned, nails digging into his shoulders. "This isn't fair. Not fair."
"I want you every morning. Have you to myself every night!"
"I - I'll never get anything done!"
"Let me take care of you," he whispered to her lips, and Nami squeezed him, so abruptly he had to pause to remember thought. "I wanna help you out too."
Her breath hitched. Luffy rained kisses over her face, shuddering to her tightening cunt. As Nami found his lips, he melted, succumbing to her pull while he embedded himself deep inside, a rush of seed filling her. Her hips jerked to his before she sagged back with a whimper.
Panting, he slipped his fingers through her hair and pressed his forehead to hers.
"Did you really miss me this much?"
Opening his eyes, he smiled at her disheveled smile, shy, but knowing. "I missed you because I love you."
Her cheeks darkened, and she whispered, "You didn't have to risk burning down the apartment to tell me that, Luffy. I'm here every day."
"Not lately."
She pouted until she jumped when her phone buzzed in their room. Her alarm to wake up. With a nervous glance at him, she sighed. "Work's been hectic lately."
"I know. I wanna help though. I want to spend time with my wife."
Smiling, Nami gathered his hand into hers to kiss it, but her smile teased him. "I know exactly what you want."
He grinned. "Well, yeah, that too, but you're always too tired now. If I don't help you out, we'll never have any kids at this rate."
Nami pursed her lips, sniffing at that before she giggled. "What, do you think we should start that now?" Luffy must have considered her for too long because she began to sweat. "I mean, it'd be early, right? We have a - a long time to have kids ..."
With a chuckle, he leaned down to kiss her. "Yeah. Not yet. That'd make it even harder to do stuff like this."
"That's not what I meant!"
"And thanks for the delicious meal," he said, bowing his head with his hands together.
"Idiot!"
After breakfast, they both prepared for work, moving around the bathroom to navigate together while Nami pouted at him. She pulled her hair into her fanciful bun in the mirror while he brushed his teeth and watched. Her lips pursed as if for kisses, but she applied some coral-colored lipstick that gave him some pause.
When she left their room in her skirt suit and the pantyhose, Luffy's brows perked, and she glanced at him questioningly.
They still had time, so he smeared her lipstick, and her perfect bun was obliterated.
He'd get her the new stockings tomorrow.
