Sometimes he still dreamed about that tragedy. The tragedy where he failed to protect and lost the two people he loved dearly.

The fifth Holy Grail War or also known as the Fifth Heaven's Feel was an unforgettable event for him. Because in that bloody battle royal between seven magus and servants, many things had happened to him that he began to realize how dark the World of Magecraft is.

Shirou Emiya, for quite a long time since he was adopted by a magus named Kiritsugu Emiya, he always wanted to be someone who could be of use to everyone. He wants to become a hero of justice who is able to save everyone who is stricken by disaster.

However, his determination to become a hero of justice was eventually dashed at the end of the fifth holy grail war when he lost two people he held dearly to him.

The first is Sakura, his high school junior whom he already considers as hisown family. And the second is Illya, Kiritsugu Emiya's real daughter and his long lost older stepsister.

It was so cruel.

Fate is truly being cruel towards him.

He have done everything in his very being in order to protect the two of them from any harm that could be fall them during the events of the fifth holy grail war.

He have overcome numerous life and death situation, losing his most loyal servant 'Saber', forsaken his ideals and dream, and even losing his left arm in the process. All for the sake of protecting them from Zouken Matou who tries to Sacrifice them in order to summon the greater grail for himself.

In the end, Shirou and his ally Rin Tohsaka managed to defeat Zouken, however they've failed to save the two person that they need to rescue.

Rin was forced to kill Sakura, her own little sister in order to spare her from her cruel Alter ego after Zouken managed to turn Sakura into her Dark self. And Shirou was forced to watch Illya sacrificing herself to destroy the greater grail that's about to give birth to a being that could potentially wipes out the whole humanity race in the world.

For the next several months was the toughest time for both Rin and him as they respectively trying to move on from their respective guilt and grief. They made sure to support each other in the hopes that at least one of them could recover sooner because they still have to deal with the fall out of the fifth holy grail war.

After dealing with the fall out, Rin was then being contacted by the Mage's Association and she's ordered to come to the Clock Tower to be interrogated regarding the issues of the fifth holy grail war that nearly expose the secrecy of magecraft to the world.

He was feeling incredibly worried at that time. Fearing that she might be branded with a sealing designation. However, his fear was misplace because the next week Rin return to Fuyuki as she brings a great news along with her.

Apparently, when she was at the Clock Tower, she met the master of kaleidoscope himself and he has found out of her achievement when she performed a basic spell of the second true magic in the fifth holy grail war when she used the near perfect replica of the Jeweled sword of Zelretch that he projected for her with the use of Archer's arm that's grafted into his body by Kirei Kotomine after losing his own left arm, in order to fight Dark Sakura and her imaginary numbers familiars.

Zelretch has chosen her to become his apprentice and she would start studying magecraft in Clock Tower right after she graduate from Homurahara Academy.

That was the first time that he saw Rin being so happy after losing the only she have left, and he felt so happy for her.

However, Rin being chosen by Zelretch to become his apprentice wasn't the only good news that she had. Apparently, she's also allowed to bring someone along with her to the Clock Tower. And it was at that moment when Rin offered him if he wants to go to the Clock Tower with her.

At first he hesitated, but after giving it some thoughts he eventually accepted her offer to go to the Clock Tower with her as her apprentice.

It has been two years since then. And now both Shirou and Rin has been studying at the Clock Tower for seven months.

For Rin, she went to the Clock Tower with intention of completing her family's big project to make a perfect replica of the Jeweled sword Zelretch and attain the power of the second true magic.

But, for Shirou, him going to the Clock Tower is a journey to find a new purpose in his life.

#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*##*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#

Trying to adapt to the environment and the people who are in the clock tower is quite a difficult job for him. This is mostly because the magi in the clock tower are a group of people who have an old-fashioned mentality, they think like people who were still living in the medieval era.

The magi in the clock tower are a group of people who have high selfishness and low morality. They don't care about the safety of innocent people and they don't even hesitate to sacrifice the lives of all innocent people for their research to create a path to Akasha. And what's worse, the clock tower doesn't mind this as long as the secrets about magecraft are not revealed.

It was the main reason why it was so hard for him to adapt with the people at the Clock Tower because he couldn't really get along with them.

Logically, the clock tower wasn't the right place for Shirou, but he still decided to stay there, at least until he found a new purpose in life for him. Oh, and also to make sure that Rin, who is now officially his main magecraft mentor, doesn't turn into a cold-hearted monster like most traditional magus in the clock tower.

In the apartment that Rin and Shirou had rented as their residence while they were in London to study magecraft at the Clock Tower, Shirou was currently training his magic to improve the only ability he could do, which was none other than give form to what he imagines.

As a magus he is completely incompetent as he cannot use magic spells related to the five basic elements due to his origin and element being a 'sword'. However, even so, as a third-rate magus he had talent in manufacturing. He's capable of using Projection, Reinforcement, and Alteration spells which considered basic spells by most first-rate magus to a complex degree where he can use them for creating weapons out of nothingness.

Though, the magic spells that he's able to use were actually a product from his Reality Marble called the Unlimited Blade Works, which is actually his one true and the only magecraft that he could actually use. He managed to develop this Reality Marble after absorbing a lot of knowledge and memories from Archer's arm for the past three years that's still grafted on his left arm until now.

That's right...up until now he's still had the damn arm with him. And for the last three years he has trained his body to the extreme in order to make his body strong enough to endure the immense power of the arm.

However, even though he have made some leap and bounds in his training, his body is still not yet strong enough to withstood the power of Archer's arm completely. Which is why, most of the time he choosed to keep the arm sealed with the same Holy Shroud that Kotomine gave him three years ago the first he grafted the arm into his body by using his soul as an anchor.

Shirou sat cross-legged in Rin's study with his arms outstretched and his eyes closed.

"Trace On."

He muttered, mentally dividing the 7 steps of Tracing, his own variation of Gradation Air:

Judging the concept of creation.

Hypothesizing the basic structure.

Duplicating the composition material

Imitating the skill of its making.

Sympathizing with the experience of its growth.

Reproducing the accumulated year.

Excelling every manufacturing process.

A fraction of a second passes, in Shirou's hand lies Carnwenan, a dagger that belongs to King Arthur, a Noble Phantasm attributed with the magical power to shroud its user in shadow.

He puts the dagger down in front of him, among side spears, swords, axes and other daggers. Most, if not all are Mystic codes or Noble phantasms he saw from Archer's own Reality Marble by partially unsealing the arm which allows him to gain a limited access to Archer's Unlimited Blade Works.

During his training sessions, Shirou discovered that the more familiar he was with a weapon, the lower the mana cost of projecting the weapon is. As such he spent most of his training cataloging the weapons in his inner world by tracing them out; like sorting a weapon rack by its type, destructiveness, and usage.

He thinks back to their high school days; he would have never gotten this far without Rin's help.

Ever since Shirou agreed to become Rin's official apprentice, visiting the Tohsaka estate became weekly. Practicing and improving his mage-craft, and with Rin's assistance, he manages to mastered most of Archer's skills that he received from his arm that's grafted into his body. And She even help him to establish the foundation and rules of his own Reality Marble which resulted in him developing his own Unlimited Blade Works faster than he and Rin ever anticipated.

He's truly grateful for all the helps that she have given him. Although Shirou sometime does feel like he is more of Rin's 'Test subject' than 'Apprentice' as evident by her sometimes sadistic tendencies of testing spells on him and multiple attempts on getting a sample of his body, often times it leads to ruffles as he attempts to escape her sculpting tool.

It occasionally ends with their bodies in provocative positions that end up starting their…'Mana Transfer' sessions quite early.

Hey, sword or not, he is still a healthy young man.

The first time they did it was the night before their final battle against Saber Alter and Dark Sakura.

In order to defeat Saber Alter, Shirou needs to utilize the full power of Archer's arm which means that he had no choice but to completely unsealed the arm, however by doing that there's a risk where the arm will damage his brain and overwrite his existence with Archer's.

In order to prevent that from happening, Rin performed a 'Mana Transfer' ritual as a contract to transfer her magic crest to Shirou. The magic crest work as a stopgap to prevent the power of Archer's arm from completely eroding his brain and overwriting his existence. Although the magic crest couldn't completely suppressed the overwhelming power of Archer's arm, at least it did its job to minimize the damages that the arm would do to him If he didn't have Rin's magic crest.

Their mana transfer sessions also works to repair his 27 atrophied magic circuits due to his previous ways of making artificial circuits out of his nerves.

This relationship went on for quite a while, they kept the entire thing hidden from the public until they officially became a couple after moving to London.

Shirou chuckled as he recalled those times. He stood up and looked at the window where he saw that the sun had risen completely over the eastern horizon of London.

He then smiles softly, "Well, I guess it's time to make breakfast." Shirou muttered before leaving the study room to do his daily morning routine.

#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*##*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#

Rin grumbled in annoyance when she had to wake up from her deep sleep because her alarm clock suddenly rang loudly.

Feeling annoyed, Rin turned off her alarm clock roughly by throwing it at the wall before trying to continue her beautiful sleep.

However, it wasn't long before he woke up again when he smelled a delicious aroma coming from the kitchen.

'Looks like Shirou has started cooking breakfast as usual.' Rin grumbled in her mind in annoyance, because now she had to choose between continuing her sleep or waking up so she could get her lover's breakfast rations.

Rin actually still wants to continue sleeping, but Shirou's cooking is too tempting to pass up.

After much thought, Rin finally decided to get out of bed and go to the bathroom to get ready for the day. She grumbled grumpily at the fact that she could never get her few extra minutes of sleep thanks to him. It was not like she could just ignored Shirou and go back to sleep, that was very disrespectful and in poor taste. As a Tohsaka, she would not allow herself to act like that.

And so, after taking a quick shower, she came out dressed in her usual colors, red blouse, black mini skirt, and leggings. She brushed her hair absentmindedly as she went for the dinner table.

Her dulled and grumpy aqua eyes landed on the table, filled with a colorful and delicious looking western breakfast. She felt her stomach clenched in delight at the sight. She stepped towards it, but stopped…

Where was Shirou? It was highly unusual for him not to be next to the stove or doing something in the small kitchen or even seated at the table as he waited for her. Not seeing Shirou around was enough to make her usual morning grumpiness reside bac—!

A cup of steaming hot coffee was shoved to her face followed by a good-natured call. "Good morning, Rin."

Rin stared at the mug with surprise, her mind barely registered what had happened. She followed the red cup towards the one holding it and found the pleasant and relaxed expression of Shirou Emiya.

She blinked a few times and the morning weariness disappeared, she took the cup and sent the young man before her a sullen pout. "Was the surprise appearance really necessary, Shirou?"

He only smiled and scratched his cheek with his now freed hand. "Sorry Tohsaka, I thought about bringing the coffee to you directly, but I didn't find you in bed."

"Humph, I guess I should take the blame this time." Rin admitted and took a sip of the coffee, she let a satisfied hummed vibrate through her and gave Shirou a pleasant smile.

"Thanks for the coffee, though. It helps brighten my mood." Rin said, still having that pleasant smile on her face, before walking towards the table.

Hearing Rin's comment, Shirou smiles brightly, happy that he's able to pleased his master. "Your welcome. I'm glad that I could help you a little with your 'morning problem'." He said while following after Rin towards the table.

"Still, I can't believe that you haven't got rid off that bad habit of yours even after we moved to London, I'm surprised." Shirou commented jokingly as he sat down on his chair.

"Hmm, but it's because of my bad habit with mornings that make me so adorable, right? Right? No use being ashamed to admit it Shirou, you enjoy seeing me like that every morning."

"..."

Shirou didn't comment as he kept silent with his eyes closed. But, His silence was more than enough for Rin as placed the cup on the table. She placed her right elbow on the table and rested face comfortably on her palm. "What? no words?"

A snort escaped him as he grabbed his utensils. "Humph, I've learned my lessons about giving you more ammunition against me whenever I say what you want me to say, Tohsaka."

She pursed her lips at the words. "Too bad, I actually miss the days when you didn't know when to shut up and stammered your way into getting me all work up and angry with you. A unique trait that only you seemed to have, hmm?"

"…you enjoyed whenever I pissed you off?"

A saddened sigh escaped her as she pouted. "I wouldn't say enjoy…more like I found you endearing back then. Now you're just maturing too quickly and I don't get to enjoy seeing you make a fool out of yourself anymore…"

Shirou shot her an annoyed look mixed with confusion. "I thought as the master, you would've been happy to know that the apprentice finally managed to get the teachings through his skull—or did you want me to keep failing?"

"Oh, I'm happy…" Rin said and took a bite of her breakfast, she chewed on it happily and swallowed in happily. She looked down at her food in satisfaction. "Very much so, I'm actually feeling like you'll spoil me with all the new recipes your coming with."

The redhead smiled at that. "It's the least I can do after all you've done for me. You've dragged me all the way to London with you and taught me how to be a better mage. Spoiling you a little doesn't seem too bad."

There are other benefits of having Archer's arm grafted into his body. Besides giving him all of Archer's magecraft, forgeries, and fighting skills, the arm also transferred his alternate-futureself godly cooking skills into him as well which greatly improved his own cooking skills.

Rin didn't even bother to hide the full-blown smile that appeared on her face when she heard that. "I knew there was a reason I didn't give up on you after you actually stopped making a fool out of yourself."

Shirou just smiled at that, her teasing being something that he had grown accustom to in the past two years. She ate her food, smile clear on her face, her mood bright and the expectations she had for the day soared high as the sky.

The two of them continue eating their breakfast while exchanging some small talks. And once they are done, they grab their college supplies and quickly make their way to the Clock Tower to attend their respective classes.

The Clock Tower is the first branch and headquarters of the Mage's Association. Many generations of magi have converged to this place to enhance their knowledge of magecraft and to pass their craft on to the next generation. Centuries of arcane knowledge is pursued and refined here away from the prying eyes of the world as we know it.

For Rin, right after she has been appointed as Zelretch's apprentice, she determined that she would accomplished her family's greatest goal, which is to replicate the Jeweled Sword of Zelretch that eventually would grant her the power of the Second True Magic known as the Kaleidoscope, just like the Wizard Marshall himself.

Imagining herself being able to travel between parallel worlds made her excited. She couldn't wait to finish making the Jeweled sword right away.

Though, she knew that that was just a wishful thinking because she knows that trying to replicate the Jeweled sword won't be an easy task. Even by using the Projected Jeweled Sword that Shirou gave to her as a cheat note and Shirou himself also helping her out, it would still take a while before she can completely replicate the Jeweled Sword.

Rin and Shirou finally reached their destination in fifteen minutes by jogging. They are lucky because they managed to arrive on time before their respective studies begin.

"So, what classes are you going to be attending today, Shirou? As for my schedule today, I'm going to a special lecture on cutting in Mineralogy."

"I just got fundamental classes all mornings, I guess."

"I see, then that means we're both free this afternoon."

Rin and Shirou made some small talks as they walked side by side in the Clock Tower corridor. The both of them then stopped after reaching an intersection because this is where they have to part ways.

"By the way, Shirou. Can you come with me to my workshop later this afternoon? I need your help with something." Rin asked to the red-head who rose an eyebrow curiously.

"Let me guess. This is about the Jeweled Sword, right?" Shirou guessed with a small smile as his 'master' nod her head in respond. "Alright, then we'll head to your workshop later after lunch."

"Great! Then I'll see you later, Shirou."

"Yes, see you later, Rin."

After saying goodbye to each other, the two of them separated to go to their respective classes.

And on his way to the General Fundamental department, he internally hoped that Rin would not meet and fight with Luvia again. Because if that were to happen, their plans for this afternoon could be canceled.

"Hopefully those two won't meet each other today."

#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*##*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#

What he feared did came true in the end.

They had to cancel their initial plan to visit Rin's workshop to check on the Jeweled Sword this afternoon.

This happened because, after having lunch together, Shirou and Rin accidentally ran into Luvia in the hallways while they were going to Rin's workshop.

Like always, whenever they met Luvia, the blue aristocrat would always tried to get on Rin's nerves by trying to flirt with Shirou, much to his discomfort and Rin's dismay.

And of course, like a good master and lover she is, Rin tried to get Luvia away from Shirou, and this leads to the two of them throwing insults at each other before eventually everything turns into a full-blown battle between the two of them as they decided to settle the matter in a sparring match.

"That's right! You fight like a gorilla, Miss Gorilla!" Luvia taunted, as she swerved to the side to avoid a reinforced kick going for her face. Countering with several punches to Rin's face.

"Keep talking, foreigner with cow genes!" Rin retorted, changed tactics and aimed for palm strikes instead, which connected several times in Luvia's abdomen and slammed her into a nearby pillar.

"Drill Head!"

"Flat chest!"

Standing among the crowd that has gathered is Shirou watching the fight with a deadpan, once again the head ladies of their respective families face off again, trying to violently maim each other in hand to hand combat.

"I put my bets on the Edelfelt." a black haired lady whispered behind Shirou.

"Are you kidding?! The Tohsaka obviously has the upper hand here. 5 pounds on Tohsaka." Another woman responded to her bet.

'Why does this keeps happening around me?' He sulked while remembering the first time Rin and Luvia became rivals.

During the first day of arriving in England, they were totally lost on the streets of London. The dorm they were heading for is a specific dormitory not open for public but for members of the Clocktower. Luvia who was passing by overheard them and lead them towards the correct direction.

Problems occurred when they discovered that Rin booked a room on the floor when Luvia was trying to book the entire floor for herself.

This leads to arguments upon arguments until Rin's Lord recommendation got torn by Luvia, where it became a full-on battle which destroyed the lobby and the receptionist table in the process, banning them from the building.

Rin managed to find another Dorm closer to the college, surprisingly (or unsurprisingly) Luvia also got a room on the same floor.

Ever since then, their rivalry has become infamous throughout the college, both normal classes and magical lessons.

'Ah, it looks like they are tiring out.' The fight had slowly devolved into weak exchanges and off-centered punches with both participants breathing heavily.

"Rin, Luvia-san don't you think it's time to...?!" Shirou stop talking when the subtle smell of chemical suddenly reached his nose and the smell doesn't feel natural. Usually, this happen when he detect an anomaly caused by magecraft.

Every magus are capable of sensing anomalies which caused by the used of magecraft through their five senses. And in Shirou's case, it's through the sense of smell.

Which is why when he usually smells something unnatural, it's usually signified the use of magecraft.

Searching for the source of the smell, Shirou saw a hooded figure standing near one of the entrances of the hall. By using magecraft, the hooded figure create multiple small sharp cones of green liquid like deadly icicles, aimed towards the exhausted fighters.

"Trace On!" Sensing that both Rin and Luvia are in danger, Shirou quickly reinforced his limbs and launches himself right in front of the two ladies as the spell caster launches the spell with bullet-like speed at the three of them.

"Shirou?!"

"Shero?!"

The pair exclaims, surprised at Shirou sudden appearance.

Shirou ignored their calls and stretched out his right hand. "Rho Aias!" the 4 petal flower shield bloomed on his outstretched hands.

The spell barrage splattered on the shield with no effect; not even breaking a single petal yet leaving splatters of deep holes on the ground. A testament to the shield's strength.

Releasing the projection, he searches for the hooded figure once more only to find no trace of the assassin, only hearing mumbling chatter from the crowd.

"What kind of spell was that? It looked beautiful."

"Must be some kind of family mystic code but I have no idea who that is."

Ignoring their chatter, Shirou turned his attention towards Rin and Luvia to check up on their condition.

"Tohsaka, Luvia-san are you injured?" Shirou's eyes are still focused on the surroundings, searching for signs of a second attack.

"Yeah...I'm alright," Rin responded, while internally punishing herself for not paying attention to her surroundings. Yet, she is glad that Shirou is here to watch her back.

"Shero~! That was some incredible defense spell, I'm impressed! You should've been my bodyguard instead! I'll pay you, double, no, triple of whatever that Tohsaka is paying you!"

"Shove off, Edelfelt! We've already gone through this! Shirou is not going to be anyone else bodyguard!"

Rin and Luvia start fighting again over the same thing, but Shirou who is fed up with their fighting decides that enough is enough. But, before he got the chance to stop the two ladies from going at each other necks again, someone else beat him to it.

"That's enough you two, no more fights!" Boomed a voice from the crowd, a tall lanky man with free-flowing hair, dressed in a red coat stepped out. The crowd fell into silence, out of respect for Waver Velvet, also known as Lord El-Melloi II.

"Lord El-Melloi!" Shirou exclaimed in surprise at the sudden appearance of one of the Lords of the Clock Tower.

"It's Lord El-Melloi II, Emiya." Waver corrected with a sigh as he put emphasize on the 'II' in his title.

"I've come down here to see what kind of ruckus is going on, only to find out that Tohsaka and Edelfelt are fighting again…what a waste of time." Waver grumbled, he had no mood to deal with these two hyenas, especially with what just happened.

"Oh? it's Lord El-Melloi II, how can I help you today?" Luvia spoke with utter sarcasm.

"Cut the crap Edelfelt. I saw what happened, the investigation team is already on their way. It's best you cooperate with them." Lord El-Melloi II told the Edefelt heiress sternly before glancing towards Shirou and Rin.

"And you two come with me, I've got questions for you." He told the couple and mentioned them to follow him to his office.

Rin and Shirou look at each other for a second in confusion before following after Lord El-Melloi II.

#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*##*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#*#

Waver brought the pair to his office; a typical place with shelves of books on both sides of the room, a coffee table placed between two couches and a desk.

He have brought them in for an interrogation regarding the situation of the assassination attempt that just happened at the hall earlier.

"So, the assassin was using some kind of acid, huh." Waver took a whiff from his cigar while writing down notes on his desk.

"Yes, judging by the properties of the liquid when it hit the ground, it was meant to completely dissolve the intended target." Rin hypothesized, sitting on the couch while Shirou treats her wounds.

"I see, then that means the assassin is quite proficient in Liquid manipulation, which also means that the assassin has Water and Wind as their elemental alignments." Lord El-Melloi II mumbled as he scribbles down that piece of information on his notes. "But, this is a little bit strange, for an assassination attempt, the assassin decided attacked in an area full of eyewitnesses. Either the assassin saw an opportunity or it's a warning or both."

"But why? Why would they target Rin and Luvia-san?" Shirou asked, his knowledge of politics in the magus society are limited.

"I don't think they are after Tohsaka, but Luvia on the other hand, then I might have a few reasons why they are targeting her." Waver stated as he took another whiff of his cigar.

"And what are those?"

"As you two know, Luvia is the current head of the Edelfelt family. The Edelfelt family are known for being successful mercenaries, they take on many jobs; such as beast hunts, apostle hunts, and assassinations. All for the highest bidder." Waver explained

"Many possibilities of why they would target her; personal revenge for someone she or another Edelfelt killed, or rival mercenaries taking out their competition or simply she was just another target in someone else plans."

"This is also why Tohsaka brought you along as her bodyguard, cases like this are uncommon throughout the Clock Tower but they still do happen."

"…I see." It's no wonder Kiritsugu didn't want him to be exposed to the Magus world.

"Now, one last thing that I'd like to know. Does any of you had a good look on the assassin? Do you know what they looked like?" Waver asked the duo.

Rin couldn't really recall how the assassin that had just attacked her and Luvia looks like because she had her attention on the drill head foreigner the whole time, and it was Shirou who actually spotted the assassin in the first place, so he's the one who decided to answer the question.

"I couldn't really tell how the assassin's look like because their features are mostly covered by their robe. But, I remembered seeing some kind of tattoos on the assassin's arm." Shirou explained what little bit of information that he knows about the assassin.

"A tattoo? How does it look like?" Waver asked again, mentioning for Shirou to describe how the tattoo looks like.

"It looks like some kind of plants, but it's hard for me to tell what it is, but I can draw it for you though. Do you mind lending a piece of paper and a pen, sir?" Shirou asked and without hesitation Waver gave him what he requested.

After saying 'thank you', Shirou then begin to draw the tattoo that he saw on the assassin's arm on the paper that Lord El-Melloi II gave to him.

After a minute, Shirou had finished drawing and give the paper back to Lord El-Melloi II for him to look at.

Waver looked at the drawing of the tattoo on the paper and his eyes hardened as he recognized the tattoo. "Well...this is curious."

"What's wrong? Do you recognized that tattoo, sir?" Rin asked curiously as Waver put the paper down with a sigh.

"Nope." Lord El-Melloi II replied. "I thought I recognized this tattoo, but I was wrong."

Both Shirou and Rin blinked at Waver's lame attempt to lied at the two of them. They both knows that the Lord is trying to hide something from them, but no matter how curious they are, they knew better not to demand something from one of the twelve Clock Tower's Lords.

Which is why both Rin and Shirou decided not to press the man who held the title of Lord El-Melloi II for an answer and let the matter go.

"Oh...I see." That was Rin's only respond to the lord's words.

"So, now what?" Shirou asked, wondering what else Lord El-Melloi II wants from them.

"Now, you two are allowed to leave. I already have all that I needed from the two of you." Waver said dismissively to the pair while taking another cigar.

"Yes sir." The pair stood up from their chair and bow respectively to Lord El-Melloi II before excusing themselves out of his office.

Once the pair has left, Waver decided to take another look at the drawing of the tattoo that Shirou has drawn for him.

He frowned once again as he now completely recognized the tattoo and remembered the person that used to have this tattoo.

'Could it actually be him that tried to assassinate Luvia earlier?' Waver thought while putting out his cigar on the ash tray.

Well, looks like Lord El-Melloi II just got another case in his hand that needs to be investigate.

Although Waver didn't particularly fond of the current head of the Edelfelt Family, she's still one of his students.

And it's a teacher's duty to guide and protect their pupils.

To be Continued.

A/N : Hello dear readers. Glad to meet you all, The name is Star Marshall and I'm a novice writer who just joined this site. This is the first time I've written a Fanfic and unfortunately English isn't my main language, so there's probably some errors in my writings. Please don't be too mean if you want to criticize me.

Also, as you can see this story is an adoption from BaconPi's 'Jewelled Sword' story. He has a rather interesting idea for his story regarding Shirou's life while studying in the Clock Tower, but he decided not to continue it, I decided to adopt it.

Well, I guess this is it for now. Please leave some replies for me.
