From a shop to the biggest Chocolate Factory in the world.

As he finished cutting the elaborately tied red bow to officially open the enormous Chocolate Factory, Willy Wonka grinned as he took in the sheer scale of the awe-inspiring industrial complex which would soon be delivering chocolates and sweets across the entire planet. Willy walked slowly through the gates and into the main courtyard of the factory grounds, gazing at the smokestacks. It still amazed Willy with how things had changed and could change in such a short span of time; he had originally planned for his factory to be constructed as soon as the initial steps in his plan to build his chocolate-making empire were completed years after he had set up his business, but he had not expected the factory to be built and opened so quickly.

It was the popularity of his brand and the demand for his candies that led to his factory being built.

To think this all started because I opened a shop, and now I've gone from a simple sweet shop to what is probably the biggest chocolate factory in the world, Willy thought to himself.

When he had come up with a business plan in order to bring to life his love of making chocolates for the world, Willy had originally been content with the opening of a simple shop. It would have been more than enough for him and his ambitions. At the time, Willy had not really been interested in the construction of a very large factory, but he had soon seen the advantages of owning a chocolate factory. But as time had passed, Willy had discovered for himself the demand placed on his chocolate. It was so fantastic that he was amazed so many people had come in, wanting more and more and more, so he had needed to save up enough money to pay for the building of the factory.

As soon as he had hit upon the idea of building a chocolate factory, Willy had seen the advantages of owning such a facility for his empire. In the shop, he had discovered the limitations fairly quickly; it was similar to the history of Coca-cola, really; in that business, the makers of the popular drink had just started much like Willy himself had, and they had expanded from there. It seemed history had a habit of repeating itself with certain ventures, and he found he was enjoying the challenges. But while he felt a melancholic and nostalgic sadness that he no longer had the shop he'd owned for the last seven years and would now have more than enough room to continue expanding his business, Willy had to focus on the bonuses.

Now, not only would he be able to expand his business empire, being able to reach far more people than he had managed originally, he could construct the larger Inventing Room and the other laboratories he had longed to create; the shop's inventing capacity had never been truly adequate, but it had been good enough originally before his life's work took off.

As he turned around, gesturing at the factory, the crowd cheered en-masse, clearly looking forward to when he began work, and he knew how they felt for he couldn't help but feel delighted as well. He had designed the factory's systems himself with some help from experts in the field. Soon, the first batches of chocolate bars and other classic lines of his would be out in the world.

But that was only the beginning.

Soon he would come out with new lines of amazing candies which he had kept in his mind for a long time.

It was going to be fun.

Author's note - How did you like the Coca-Cola reference? I once saw a Youtube documentary about their production process - it might've been dull, but it featured a segment of the earliest days of the organisation. Their original factory looked more like the back room of a shop. Just like Wonka's in the 2005 movie. Please let me know what you think.
