Author's Note: So…let's face it: Fate series as a whole are super complicated. Even if I try and comprehend what I read from the internet or watch the shows, it's still complicated as heck. And that's why I'm doing my own anime adaptions. Since I finished my Fate Grand Yuri Order story, I thought, "Hey, why not write the very beginning of Fate/Extra based on the anime?"

Hopefully, the way I'm doing this makes things a bit easier for people to enjoy, especially the most important part: Hakuno-chan, the best main character in the Fate/Extra series that the anime killed off. Just…haaah…so disappointing.

Anyways, enough about the rant. Let's get to it!

It feels like it's so real….but it isn't. Am I dreaming? I could't tell. Everything looked so real. And it felt…real too. I felt as if…something was missing. Actually there was two that were missing. I felt my back against the wall and…my legs. They're gone. They were bleeding. I was bleeding out. I could hear…lots of loud explosions and loud cries. I saw…yellow glowing light just from my right. And just for a second….I saw a girl…with blonde hair tied in a regal bun, wearing a red dress…she got hurt. And killed in the process. There was nothing…I could do to help her…and I…was slowly dying. A slow….and painful…death…

Our fates…were both sealed…

**Reality**

"AH!" a beautiful girl with long brown hair and brown eyes jolts up from her bed, panting. She is sweating and terrified of what she saw. "The same dream. What was that…?" she asks herself. She knows she has no answer for that, but even so, she still wonders about it. But now is not the time to question it. It's time for another day at her high school. She gets up and starts to get ready.

The girl, Hakuno Kishinami, is a 17-year-old second year student who is beautiful and somewhat popular with the others at school. She does well in academics, and good at sports. The girls love her, some boys fall for her beauty and sometimes lust for her. Unfortunately, she turns them down completely. She has no interest in anyone, as they hear, but in reality, Hakuno-chan has someone that interests her. There is one and only one person she holds most dear.

Right now, she leaves for school. Her parents are always busy with work. But it's not like they never spend time with their daughter. During weekends, they eat and go to places together from time to time. It's pleasant, but Hakuno-chan sometimes feels lonely. That's why she likes going to school to meet with friends there. Speaking of school, she arrives just in time and heads for homeroom.

Classes come and go until it is lunch time. Hakuno-chan takes her lunch and heads out into the hall to meet with her close friend. "Close" is the right word for it because of one thing…

"Kya!" a girl with long purple hair with a red bow tied to her head squeaks as she is being pushed around by a male with short blue hair and wicked eyes. "N-Nii-san…we're at school…"

"Yeah? I can do whatever the hell I want," her older brother, Shinji Matou says to his little sister, Sakura. He shoves her against the wall. "You are just low, you know that?"

"Th-that's not true…" Sakura whimpers, tears forming in her eyes.

"Hey!" Hakuno-chan shouts, interrupting Shinji's conversation. "I've told you this before and you go and do it again!?"

"Tch! So it's you, Kishinami…" Shinji growls.

Ever since Hakuno-chan first met Sakura Matou, the brunette found out that Sakura was always the victim of her older brother. According to her, Sakura was taken in by the Matous to become a full class mage. But Shinji saw her as nothing but a low life and always treated her like trash. Hakuno-chan did not like it at all and decided to protect Sakura at all costs. But having Hakuno-chan in Sakura's life made Shinji very angry and it made things worse. However, Hakuno-chan didn't care. She now considered Sakura to be her most important person in the world and always stood by her side. She even allowed Sakura to run away to her home to sleep over for a few nights.

Hakuno-chan takes a few steps toward Shinji. "Leave her alone, you hear me?"

"Why should I?" he glares at her. "Trying to protect her again? What are you, her shield? Well, it's not going to last forever you know!"

"I know that," Hakuno-chan says. "But until then, I shall keep her away from scum like you!"

Shinji grabs Hakuno-chan by the collar and pulls her forward, right in her face. "What'd you say to me, you bitch!?"

"Nii-san!" Sakura begs. "Please stop!"

"You stay out of this, Sakura!" He shoves her against the wall again, making Hakuno-chan furious.

"How…dare you!?" Hakuno-chan raises a fist to punch him, but he quickly grabs her wrist and throws her down on the floor.

"Not so strong, are you~?" he says as he snatches her up and then punches her to knock her into the wall to the same place where Sakura is.

"Sempai!" the purplenette cries.

"Heh, lucky we're at school," Shinji says as he puts his hands in his pockets. "But next time, Kishinami, you won't be this lucky. Sakura, you are to meet me back home after school, got it?"

With that, he walks away. Sakura turns to her upperclassman, helping Hakuno-chan up.

"Sempai! Sempai!" she cries. "Are you alright!?"

"I'm fine," Hakuno-chan replies, groaning a bit. "I'm used to this sort of thing…" She then starts to hear the poor purplenette start crying. "Sakura…?"

"I'm…I'm so sorry…" she sobs as she hugs her upperclassman. "I get you involved, only for you to be hurt worse than me."

"No, no…" Hakuno-chan embraces her in return. "I'm okay with that. It means that I'm keeping you safe from that scumbag. I don't want to see you get hurt."

"Sempai…"

It's like a routine for Hakuno-chan. A normal morning, then, trying to protect Sakura from Shinji during lunch or after school. Then, Sakura goes to Hakuno-chan's home every once in a while in order to get away from it all. The brunette swears to protect Sakura from any harm.

**Later**

Finally, the day is over. Hakuno-chan packs her stuff in her school bag and starts to head out of the class room. While walking in the halls, she can hear some girls squealing in excitement at seeing the beautiful brunette.

"Kyaaaa! It's Kishinami-san!"

"Oh, she's so beautiful! She's also super smart!"

"I know, right? Gosh, I want to confess to her so badly!"

"Yeah, but I heard she's already have someone in her life."

"Really? Any idea who?"

"Nope. But I bet it's a very handsome guy!"

Hakuno-chan sighs. She hates to admit it, but her heart is set on girls. Before that, she had no one she was interested in. She is usually quiet and reserved. But ever since she was protecting Sakura time and time again, she found herself to fall in love with females, more specifically Sakura herself. Nothing will change her mind.

"I should probably go study…" she says to herself.

She starts to head for the library when something or…someone catches her eye. A girl about her age with long black hair tied partial pig-tails and wearing a red long sleeved shirt, short frilly black skirt and black thigh high boots on her legs. The girl stares at her for a moment with the brunette raising an eyebrow.

"Can I…help you with something?" she asks.

"Actually, it's you that I need," the girl says. "But don't tell anybody. Got it?" She turns to leave.

Hakuno-chan is confused, but decides to follow this girl. They head down the long hallway, all the way down toward the end. There is a room where literally no one ever uses, probably empty since however long ago. Hakuno-chan has heard that it was a somewhat small computer lab with only one computer in it. Some use it to have time to themselves, but as far as she knows, barely anybody else notices that room exists. How did this girl know about it?

"Let me ask you one question," the girl says before she opens the door. "When you get past this door…are you willing to go on an adventure?"

"Adventure? What are you talking about?" Hakuno-chan asks. "This is just a computer lab. Do you want me to play an RPG game? I don't have time for that."

"Let me show you," the girl says. She opens the door and drags Hakuno-chan in.

She boots up the computer and types some things. Just then, a large portal appears from the wall behind the computer. Hakuno-chan gasps and backs away a few steps. But the girl has no time for questions and grabs her wrist.

"Your adventure begins here!" She pushes Hakuno-chan into the portal and shortly after, jumps in.

Hakuno-chan screams as she falls. For what it seems like a bottomless pit, it thankfully ends when she lands on the floor with a thud, rendering her unconscious for just a little bit. When she wake up, she sits up and looks around. It's a very large room, sort of like an ancient theatre. Wait, a theatre? How did she get here? She stands up abruptly, puts a fist on her chest and looks around. She sort of knows this place. A theatre that takes place in Rome. But…why would the girl push her there? Was it time traveling? Did she actually travel through time? So many questions fill her head that she cannot ask which one. First, she needs to find a way out of this. Wait, a way out? No, that's impossible. She literally travelled through time and the portal disappeared. So how can she go back?

Suddenly, a large holo screen pops up. Hakuno-chan walks over to it and it reads like some sort of resume. But this resume is specifically for newcomers to becoming…masters? Masters of what, exactly? She types in her name, date of birth, gender and her age. When it's done, she hits the "OK" button. The holo screen disappears and a spotlight appears next to the fountain in the middle of the theatre. Something glitters and a big red sword with the blade stuck on the floor appears.

"Does it….want me to take it?" Hakuno-chan questions herself.

She starts taking a few small steps toward the weapon. She reaches out her hand to grab the hilt when all of a sudden, she hears some cackling and giggling.

"My, myyyy~!" a voice calls from above. "What have we here~? A newcomer? Ohhhh, how exciting!"

Hakuno-chan looks up and gasps at the sight of a girl dressed in a gothic lolita fashion with long hot pink hair with horns on her head and dragon wings on her back. Underneath her skirt is a big, long tail. On her cute feet are white knee high boots. She swoops down and swings a big staff at Hakuno-chan, but the brunette skillfully dodges it. But it makes her tumble to the floor, falling on her behind.

"Hahahaha!" the girl laughs and turns around, flapping her wings. "Oh, this one is so cute! I want to eat her up!"

"Who are you!?" Hakuno-chan says.

"I am a vampire, Elizabeth," the girl gestures toward herself. "You look so divine!" She lands on her feet and her wings disappear. "Come now. Let's get to know each other~" She outstretches her hand, her pink fingers revealed as talons.

But Hakuno-chan looks back at the sword and then at Elizabeth. Why would she go with a stranger? And why would a vampire exist in this world? She gets to her feet and makes a run for the sword.

"What!? What are you doing!?" Elizabeth shrieks.

She reaches out her hand to grab the hilt and tries to lift it. But it remains stuck. She is desperate.

"Why won't this thing pull off…!?" Hakuno-chan tries to pull as hard as she can, but it won't budge.

Elizabeth takes a few steps closer. "I shouldn't do that if I were you. Why don't you come with me instead~?"

Hakuno-chan glances at the vampire girl. Suddenly, she can feel a hand being gently be put on hers. There is a white glow in front of her, forming a figure. When it's complete, the glowing fades away, revealing to be a girl at least a head shorter than Hakuno-chan, with blonde hair tied to a regal bun and wearing a long red dress with a transparent front, revealing her wearing golden knee high boots. The girl smiles and gently has Hakuno-chan let go of the hilt. She then pulls the sword out of the floor with ease. Hakuno-chan falls on her behind, shocked to see such a sight.

"Umu~!" the girl says. "You have summoned me! Are you my master~?"

"Wha…?" Hakuno-chan gasps.

"Those markings on your hand says you are~" the girl points out.

The brunette looks at her right hand to see red markings on her back hand.

"These symbolize that you are indeed my master~" The girl leans down and winks at her with an index finger raised up. "Be sure to treat me well. Umu~!"

At this point…Hakuno-chan has so many questions to ask at the moment.
