Weiss wanted to get up from the bed, but she couldn't move. She couldn't move because Ruby was wrapped around her like a vine. Ruby was clinging to Weiss so tightly that there wasn't even room between them. Ruby's hands were buried in Weiss' hair, while their legs were tangled together.

The two of them had fallen asleep on the bed while they were watching a movie. They'd stayed up until nearly midnight discussing what they could do for the upcoming winter months in Atlas.

Weiss wanted to separate herself from Ruby, but Weiss didn't want to disturb her dolt. This was the most intimate Ruby had ever been with Weiss, which went beyond Weiss' comfort zone. Such close proximity made her heart skip a beat every time she thought about how close Ruby was to her.

The sun peeked over the horizon and the room became brighter. Ruby shifted a little, pulling Weiss closer to her. Weiss sighed.

Weiss needed some air and maybe a walk. A walk would be nice.

As quietly as she could, Weiss lifted one of Ruby's arms from her hair, but not before a few strands had fallen in front of her face. She tucked them behind Ruby's ear and the girl made a small noise that might've been a groan, but it sounded more like a grunt than anything else.

Weiss let go of Ruby's arm. The arm clung around Weiss, like how a vine wraps around a powerline. Weiss layed next to Ruby, thinking about what to do next. As she did, Weiss drank in Ruby's sleeping face. She looked so peaceful, so calm, almost too much for Weiss to handle.

She was going to wake her up eventually, but not now.

Ruby shifted slightly, her body relaxing against hers, and it was then that Weiss realized they were cuddling and cuddling wasn't something she'd ever done with another person before. In fact, she never did anything like this until she met Ruby Rose. With her family name, Weiss always used to second guess people's motivations for getting close to her, but not with Ruby.

Ruby just wanted to be with Weiss. That was all Weiss knew, which was both endearing and mildly frustrating. There was no other way to describe it.

She stared at Ruby some more before deciding to look away, and towards the digital clock on the nightstand next to the bed. It was seven in the morning, and that meant they were going to have to get up soon.

Weiss tried to get up from the bed again. Weiss gently pulled on Ruby's hand and the other girl stirred, but still not waking up completely. Instead Ruby rolled over on top of Weiss, pinning her to the bed.

Weiss was so stunned she let Ruby just lay on top of her. She never expected this from her teammate, but she didn't mind. Ruby was just so warm and comforting. Ruby's mouth was pressed against the crook of Weiss's neck and she could feel Ruby's soft, hot lips through the collar of her sleepwear.

Weiss and Ruby were wrapped in one another's arms and Ruby nestled against Weiss's chest. Both of them drifted off into their own blissful slumber. After all, it's not every day Weiss gets the opportunity to snuggle with Ruby, so why not take advantage?

Weiss's eyes rolled back, her arms wrapped around Ruby tighter, pulling the smaller girl even closer, if that was possible, her eyelids fluttering shut as her head fell forward, her vision blurred and she was lost in a haze of a blissful embrace. Weiss's breath hitched as Ruby pressed even closer and Weiss had to admit, she was rather enjoying the situation.

Weiss was also finding it difficult to resist the feeling that she should do something about the situation, but she couldn't bring herself to do anything about it. So instead she just snuggled closer to Ruby, breathing in her smell. Ruby smelled like her favorite vanilla cream tea.

It felt nice being held by someone else like this. And not once did it ever feel forced.

It felt really good to have Ruby cuddle her like that. Ruby was always so affectionate, even when she wasn't even awake. Weiss could lay like this forever.

An alarm rang from a scroll, shattering the serenity of the morning. Weiss grumbled as she reached over to grab her scroll that had fallen onto the ground last night. She silenced the alarm and saw a text notification waiting for her. A few moments of reading revealed that Yang wanted to meet up for a training session.

Weiss texted back, letting Yang know they'll make it. Weiss sat up on the bed.

But finally, after a couple of seconds after the ringing, Ruby opened her eyes slowly. Her eyes weren't fully open yet, however, and her vision was blurry and disoriented from sleep. After a couple of seconds of blinking, Ruby seemed to register where she was, and she looked down at where their hands were touching before looking up into Weiss' blue eyes again.

They were close. Too close. Both of them blushing at each other, staring at each other, neither one able to break eye contact. It was silent between the two girls for a while. Just gazing at each other's eyes with a soft smile on both their faces.

"Good morning Ruby," Weiss murmured, smiling lazily into her face.

"Good morning Weiss," Ruby replied and she began to stretch, rolling her shoulders before rolling herself into a sitting position, leaning against the headboard as she turned to look at Weiss still resting on her pillow, the blanket falling down past her waist.

"I'm sorry for waking you up," Weiss said as she shifted closer. Her voice was so low it was barely audible above the hum of the space heater. "I guess I'll go get us some breakfast." Weiss sought to get up for the second time that morning, but Ruby had other things in mind. Ruby grabbed Weiss's arm before she left the bed. Slowly her hand traveled up to cup Weiss's left cheek.

Weiss let out a soft noise of surprise when her partner's fingers lightly touched her skin and Weiss moved a little bit closer, moving to sit next to her, now facing Ruby, her legs hanging off the edge of the bed.

With both girls sitting comfortably on the bed, Ruby leaned in to give Weiss a light kiss on the lips. Weiss responded in kind, kissing back and nipping playfully at Ruby's lower lip before settling into a gentle kiss. When they finally parted, Ruby rested her forehead against Weiss'

Weiss smiled slightly. "You have got to stop being so cute," she joked, causing Ruby to laugh softly. "I'm sorry about waking you," Weiss apologized, her voice soft and quiet.

"It's alright," Ruby replied easily, reaching forward and cupping Weiss' cheek with her right hand. "Let's sleep in."

Weiss nodded, her smile widening a fraction. Looks like Yang is going to have to wait. The two stared at each other for several seconds until Weiss pushed Ruby back down on the bed.
