Hello everyone, and welcome back to the second chapter of The Elementalist, my first MHA story, where hopefully we can up the intensity and intrigue with the second chapter.
The biggest question I got regarding this story was if Izuku was going to be strong on his own, and the answer is… sort of. While Izuku will definitely have his own ability and value, if he were stronger than any of the other personalities, it would make zero sense for him to switch with someone who is weaker AND possibly less cooperative.
Please, everyone who reads this, do me a favor and check out my other stories, I promise they have just as much effort put into them, as well as entirely separate but equally interesting premises.
I'd rather not waste any more time, let's get started!
I do not own My Hero Academia nor do I own any of it's characters.
Chapter 2: Hard to Work With
"The full nature of my quirk?" Izuku asked Hayase, slightly confused as he figured the explanation that was given to Kacchan earlier was more than enough.
"Yes... though it might be hard to understand, the quirk you have, as well as my being here is a little bit… confusing. Let's start with this. How do you think this quirk works?" Hayase asked, clearly trying to figure out how to explain complex concepts to someone so young, even if they were as bright as Izuku.
"Well… I absorb the elements I touch, and that creates guys like you… right?" Izuku figured, using Hayase's existence as an example.
"Sort of. Did you feel anything before I suddenly showed up?"
"Yeah… I felt this tingly sensation, and when I tried to grab hold of it, I felt myself being tugged off that chair, and you sat in it" Izuku gestured to the throne at the front of the room, away from the table.
"So whenever you feel that tingling sensation, you can create a new one of us. The element you come into contact with will create a personality inside you to match it. However… there is a lot more to it" Hayase said with a minor sigh, trying to properly organize everything in his head.
"How so?"
"First off… There are a limited number of us. One for each chair here, and since there are five chairs, and you and I sit in two of them, there are three more personalities you can make… at least until more chairs are here" Hayase said, pinning Izuku with an oddly serious look as he referenced to the round table the two of them were sitting at.
"Do you think there will be more chairs in the future?" Izuku's concern was clear in his follow up question, as he wasn't sure which elements he would have liked to have acted as his other three.
"I… believe so, though even I am unsure. Likely as you get older and use the quirk more, more chairs will appear." Hayase gave him what reassurance he could, as even he was unsure himself.
"So besides that… what else is there I am missing?" Izuku asked, still unsure as to what else he could be missing.
"Well… the second huge issue is… control, as well as power" Seeing that he had Izuku's clear attention, Hayase continued. "I'm sure you have noticed that the personality who sits in the throne has control of your body."
Izuku nodded, as Hayase seemed to be in control whenever he was sitting in the throne, and Izuku in control whenever he himself sat in the throne.
"And perhaps you have also noticed that our appearance will match the personality who is sitting in the throne as well." Hayase pushed, making sure that Izuku was taking in all the fine details.
Once more, Izuku nodded, as when Hayase had taken over to talk to his mom, he had looked like Hayase, with the blue hair and eyes.
"What you might not have noticed though, is that our quirks don't switch with who is in control" Hayase's eyes narrowed as he was proven right when Izuku took on a confused expression, clearly having missed that detail.
"Then… how do you know whether you are able to use your quirk or not?" Izuku asked, now trying to figure out how the system worked.
(This is really important, so make sure to read this until you understand)
"Here is how it works: Whenever you begin to take in an element, for example water, the throne itself will change color and appearance to match the element. The more of it you take in, the more heavily of that element the throne will be. Whoever is sitting in the throne will have access to that element's quirk, like my water quirk. However, as you use the quirk, the throne will slowly return to normal, and when it does, the quirk obviously vanishes as well." Hayase explained thoroughly, speaking slowly so as to be sure that the young Izuku was following along.
"Obviously vanishes… until we absorb the element again, right?" Izuku asked, terrified of the idea that the water quirk was now gone forever.
"Yes, until we absorb the element once more, which will then make the throne that element again." Hayase said, clearly still bothered by something that Izuku was missing.
"So what is the difference? If you sit on the water throne, how is that different from simply having the water quirk?" Izuku asked, still not fully grasping the implications.
"That's just it… if I sit on the water throne, I can use the quirk. But that also means that you can sit on the water throne and use the quirk, and that I can sit on the normal throne and have no quirk" Hayase explained, Izuku's eyes widening in excitement as he realized that he would get to use the water quirk as well.
"That's awesome! Wait a second… then why would I switch to any other personality?" Izuku asked, wondering what would stop him from just using each element's quirks himself.
"The more you absorb any element… the stronger the matching personality gets… in here… the mindscape. Remember how you got pulled off the throne when I was first created?" Izuku nodded, now starting to feel a slight chill. "Well if you take in enough of any element, that element's personality will be able to force themself onto the throne as they please… at least until that element gets used up enough for them to get weaker, of course"
"So… doesn't that mean that no element can force me off of the normal throne?" Izuku was worried as he asked his question. He wanted to make sure he was in control some of the time at least!
"You catch on fast as always, Izuku. Yes, there is no element that will have enough strength to force you off of the normal throne, and you will be able to force any others off that throne" Hayase replied, much to Izuku's relief.
"Is there anything else I need to know?" Izuku asked, starting to wonder if he would be able to keep track of it all. To his dismay, Hayase nodded.
"In terms of elements sitting on the throne. Each element will only be able to sit on their own throne, as well as the normal one. So I can only sit on your throne and the water one. If you get… say a fire element, I won't be able to sit on his throne no matter what" Hayase explained, which Izuku nodded with.
It was fairly self-explanatory when Izuku thought about it. After all, it would be a bit strange to see an earth personality using a wind based quirk.
"But I can sit on…-"
"-All of them." Izuku was cut off by Hayase before he could finish his question. Izuku nodded, pleased that he could use all of the quirks. It seemed like the downside that Hayase was mentioning wouldn't actually be an issue.
"Then that doesn't seem that bad. After all, who cares if I'm not in control, when another personality who wants to be a hero is in control!" Izuku exclaimed, clearly pleased with how amazing his quirk was… until he saw Hayase looking at him as if he was stupid.
"...what is it? Why are you looking at me like that?" Izuku asked, slightly bothered by Hayase's raised eyebrow and displeased expression.
"I think you have a misunderstanding. Sure, it would be great if you could know that the personalities all wanted to be heroes but… I don't think they are going to want to be." Hayase responded somberly, flinching slightly at Izuku's crushed expression.
"Th-Then I can just rely on the ones who do want to be a hero, like you and me" Izuku concluded, his voice lowered slightly as he didn't like the idea that the elements might not want to be heroes. They were a part of him after all.
Hayase's expression got even worse, as if he had just been struck. Clearly, he didn't want to say anything, but after a few seconds, his eyes met Izuku's and he spoke.
"To be honest… I don't really want to be a hero either. I honestly just prefer to hang out and go with the flow" Izuku's face took on a betrayed look at Hayase's words, but before he could respond, Hayase continued.
"The thing is though… it gets much harder to relax whenever villains attack and cause trouble… so I'll make you a deal." Izuku looked up at Hayase's words, a bit of hope showing in his eyes.
"What… w-what deal?" Izuku asked, hoping for some way to convince Hayase to help him be a hero.
"As long as you don't try and pressure any of the other elements to become heroes if they don't want to… I'll do everything I can to be a hero with you" Hayase sighed to himself as he spoke, having had already resigned himself to this before he had even begun the conversation.
Hayase knew that none of the elements were going to be purely evil, as they were all based off of Izuku in some way, but he also knew that many of them may simply not be interested in being a hero. As the first element that Izuku made, as well as an easy going one, he felt it was his responsibility to shoulder the burden of helping Izuku to be a hero.
"Alright, I accept your deal!" Izuku's giddy reply snapped Hayase out of his thoughts, as he decided that things were probably going to be fine.
"On that note… you should be careful about getting a lot of elements. You never know what they are each going to want… and you only have so many to work with" Hayase's warning stuck with Izuku as the two of them fell silent.
Izuku, for his part, thought about all that Hayase had explained, and how he was going to become a hero. When would he let different personalities on the throne, and how much of the element could he take in before that element's personality was stronger than him.
Hayase, for his part, relaxed once more, fully content to relax and have fun while he helped Izuku become a hero, and fully aware that most of the time he would let Izuku use his quirk, unless it was a dangerous situation.
-two years later-
7-year old Izuku's shoes left clear imprints in the dirt as he continued down his path towards school. He held back a sigh, trying not to let himself get down before the day even began, though that was difficult, knowing what was coming up.
For quite a while now, Izuku had used his quirk rather sparingly, beginning to possess mixed feelings towards the ability he had once seen as a miracle.
The issue wasn't that his quirk wasn't good or that people hated it… but rather the very opposite. His quirk was too good, Hayase was too cool, and Izuku was too uninteresting in comparison. Izuku had started to feel as if his own identity was being stolen by his quirk.
For a while he had been happy to use it, but eventually, he had started to notice a pattern. For almost 3 weeks straight after revealing he had gotten a quirk, people only wanted to spend time with Hayase, and never with Izuku.
It felt especially crushing as Izuku had figured that the existence of his quirk would be the key to finally fitting in with everyone else, to finally being seen by everyone else around him.
"Hey Deku!" Izuku's thoughts were cut off by the sound of his name, and the increasingly close foot-falls of his closest friend.
"Hey Kacchan!" The boy's run shifted into a walk as he fell into step with Izuku on their way to school, both falling into a very brief, but comfortable silence. A silence that was quickly broken by-
"What's got you so down Deku? Failed to beat the fourth gym leader? I figured your team would be good fo-"
"It's not that!... and I won just f-fine!" Izuku cut off Kacchan as he felt even more frustrated, though it wasn't aimed towards his friend.
For a brief moment, Katsuki was silent, trying to appraise the look on his friend's face. After a few seconds, an annoyed sigh left his mouth as well, clearly fed up with Izuku.
"You weren't thinking about how other people see your quirk again, were you? I thought we talked about that!?" Katsuki's response made Izuku perk up slightly, pleased to know his friend would have his back.
Just thinking back to that day put a small smile back on Katsuki's face. It happened roughly a year ago… back when they were both six…
-Flashback-
Katsuki tried to keep the scowl off his face as he stood amongst the other kids during recess. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy playing 'heroes' with them, but rather that they had begun to get cocky. They all seemed to think they had the most awesome quirks, just because Hayase seemed to acknowledge them. Thus they also seemed to really like Hayase… and not Deku.
Katsuki on the other hand… had taken Hayase's advise, and gotten to know Deku a lot better over the course of the past year. Between his quirk, his determination to be a hero, how much he respected Katsuki for being Katsuki (and not just for his quirk), and even his desire to help people, Katsuki had found himself liking Deku more and more.
He also liked Hayase of course, but he was equally happy spending time with either. Though more often than not, that meant spending time with Hayase if they were at school. Speaking of which…
"Should we get Hayase to join us? He is always fun to play with!" Ikei, the bright-blonde-haired leader of that little group (Katsuki didn't count of course, because he had no interest in leading a group of losers) suggested. Clearly, the boy had much worse vision than Katsuki, as he couldn't see that Deku had just walked onto the playground.
Deku, having overheard them, decided to hide behind one of the poles of the swing set, clearly wanting to listen in. He had a very upset look on his face, and Katsuki could definitely make a guess as to why he did.
"Of course we should! He is awesome, and always makes the game fair." A brown haired kid, who Katsuki couldn't remember the name of, said. It was clear what they were about to do. It was the same thing they did most recesses: Use Deku to get to Hayase. Katsuki, genuinely beginning to get frustrated, spoke up.
"And what about Deku? Why not have him play?" Katsuki already had a good idea of what the responses would be, but he was wondering if he might actually be proven wrong for once. But alas… Katsuki was (despite his horrible attitude) rather exceptional at reading others. Or in his own words: he was always right.
"That loser? Why? Whatever team he is on will probably lose anyways! He is the only person who makes the heroes lose, that's how bad he is!" Ikei ranted smugly. Normally, they would all fall in with Katsuki's decisions, but they figured he was of a like mind, and only stayed near Midoriya because he was sometimes Hayase.
"Honestly, why is he even around? It would be better if he just switched with Hayase all the time! Everyone likes Hayase better anyways!" The brown haired kid declared, feeling emboldened by the nods of the majority of the group, not noticing Katsuki's increasingly angered look.
...Or Deku running off towards the back of the school in tears.
Katsuki didn't even bother to say anything to the other boys as he ran off towards his friend. He didn't think those other boys were worth the time anyways. When he caught up with Deku, he found the boy sitting against the wall behind the school, with his knees curled into his chest. As Deku saw Katsuki, he stood up, brushing his eyes as his anger started to come out.
"What do you want, Kacchan?! Here to see Hayase?" Deku demanded to know, clearly not thinking very straight as his tears nearly filled his vision.
Knowing that words wouldn't be very convincing for Deku in his current state, as well as knowing that the only person present to witness his next actions would forgive him, Katsuki went with the direct course of action.
He slapped Izuku across the face for being an idiot.
"OW! What was that for?!" Izuku yelped, looking back at Katsuki with a mix of slight hurt and a lot of confusion. Enough confusion for him to actually listen properly.
"For thinking I was anything like those other losers. I hang out with you all the time, don't I? Just because the other idiots don't understand you, doesn't mean I can't!" Katsuki's words made Izuku look up gratefully, clearly missing how Katsuki was still slightly irked at the implication that Izuku would assume that he would act the same as the other kids.
Katsuki sat down against the wall, gesturing for Izuku to do the same, which the boy promptly did. After a few seconds, he decided to try something he wasn't too good with… actual human empathy.
He never would have tried this in the past, but Hayase had shown Katsuki both that he didn't understand everything without asking first, and that he wasn't on top of the world. Those two realizations made Katsuki decide that it was worth trying to understand others.
...if they had proven to him that they were worth his time, of course.
"What's been bothering you so much recently Deku?" Katsuki's tone showed enough compassion that Izuku realized he wasn't going to be made fun of and that he could speak honestly.
"Everyone loves Hayase so much. He is more fun, doesn't stutter, can use the water quirk better, knows how to talk to people, doesn't annoy them… he is just better than me. Hayase tries to say otherwise but… do people even like me?" Izuku mutters, staring at the ground in despair.
"Well… you are Deku… and I'm right here, aren't I?" Despite how simplistic Katsuki's logic was, it stopped Izuku's sniffles as he looked up at Katsuki. "And why do you care so much about what those other losers say, they aren't even a quarter as cool as Hayase, or you, for that matter. And their quirks are worse too"
"Hehe… Maybe you are right Kacchan" Izuku replied as a teary smile started to reach his face.
"Of course I am right. When awesome people say things, they are right, and when lame people say things, they are wrong. I say you're awesome, and the lame kids say you're lame… so which are you?" Katsuki challenged, giving a slight smirk as he wanted Deku to say it.
"I'm… I'm awesome, I guess" Izuku muttered, now smiling as he wiped away his tears and looked at his friend.
Katsuki looked away, faking being deaf. "What? I couldn't hear a wimpy answer like that… you'll need to speak up"
"I'm awesome!" Izuku declared a bit more loudly with a smile, getting a small grin from Katsuki in return.
"And if it bothers you so much… why not just use a different element?" Katsuki asked, still unsure as to why Izuku had yet to create another element after all this time. His answer seemed to strike a sore spot for Izuku, as he began to grimace once more.
"Is there something I am missing about your quirk?" Katsuki asked, raising an eyebrow as he saw Deku's expression.
After a few seconds of silence, Izuku went on to go over his whole conversation with Hayase about his quirk, clearly getting himself down as he went over it. When he had finished, Katsuki felt slightly perplexed, understanding that it was a serious issue, but not quite seeing why it was upsetting him so much.
"If I keep getting so many awesome personalities… Will I even still be able to try and be a hero. Will I even be able to continue being me?" Izuku asked desperately, hoping Katsuki would have a clear answer for him. And luckily… a 6 year old Katsuki had a 6 year old answer.
"Of course you will be! No matter how many personalities are there within you, you are in charge, and should keep being you. Besides, if any personality doesn't wanna be a hero… let them. That just means they get to miss out on being a part of the awesome hero that you are going to be" Katsuki declared with a clear grin, getting a beaming smile from his friend.
"Even so…. You are never gonna be as amazing a hero as I will be!" Katsuki taunted, getting a determined look from Izuku that screamed that he would try his best. Seeing that Izuku was still a little bit concerned, Katsuki said his final piece.
"Listen, your quirk is really hard to work with, but that's okay. As my first step towards being the number one hero, I'll help you with your quirk. After all, only a person with as badass a quirk as mine could help you with yours!" Katsuki decided, his logic never faltering in his own head, and his confidence encouraged Deku to believe him.
-End Flashback-
Izuku also let a small smile reach his face as he continued on with Kacchan, knowing that he would be able to keep going forward as long as he had his best friend by his side.
While not everything was always perfect between the two of them, Kacchan had clearly decided that he preferred Izuku's company to everyone else's.
"Hey, are you free after school today?" Kacchan asked, clearly having already come up with a schedule for his friend's afternoon in his own head… whether he liked it or not.
"I dunno… I'll have to check with my-"
"HEY! Are you Hayase Midoriya?" A louder and slightly older voice cut Izuku off as they got close to the school. Izuku looked up, both confused and worried about what sort of person would be demanding him in such a manner.
When he looked up, he saw quite a few of the students from their school standing around by the doors, clearly curious and anxious about the oncoming confrontation. That wasn't the issue though.
What was the issue, was a 10 year old boy with dark blue hair and a nasty scowl staring directly at him. The boy was both taller and bigger than Izuku by no small amount, with four arms coming out of his torso. The boy had on a custom black shirt with four arm holes, and the name of some band plastered over the front. The furious expression of the boy was of much greater concern though. As the two younger boys got a bit closer, Izuku responded.
"I'm Izuku Midoriy-"
"But that means you are also Hayase, right?" The older boy cut him off, taking a few steps closer as both he and Kacchan took a small step backwards.
'That's not really how it works… but somehow, I don't think he is going to listen to me explain it' Izuku thought to himself, already having some faint idea of what the issue was.
Hayase was quite popular, both with kids in their own grade… and with some of the kids a few grades up. More than once, kids from older grades approached him and asked that he stay away from their friends, probably because they were worried about losing their friends to some younger kid… but it had never been in this manner before.
'Want to switch with me? I won't be able to access my quirk obviously, but I could still try...' Izuku could hear Hayase ask him from within their mind-scape. It was clear that Hayase was a bit nervous about this confrontation himself, but was more than willing to take responsibility for it.
'No… I need to be able to handle the actions taken because of my quirk… a hero wouldn't run from this.' Izuku decided mentally, taking in a slightly deep breath before responding in a raised voice.
"Yes, I am also Hayase." Izuku called back, seeing Kacchan slowly getting into a more aggressive stance, clearly expecting to have to fight. The issue was… Kacchan only ever fought with boys a year or two older than them… not a kid three years older who had a quirk useful for this sort of thing. But as Izuku expected, he didn't have any control over Kacchan's actions.
"Why do you care?" Katsuki demanded, possessing a clear notion as to where this was going.
"A few days ago... all my friends started wanting to hang around this little brat Hayase... thought his quirk was so cool. I'm going to prove how useless it is against mine!" The bully, who Hayase informed Izuku was named Hiroto, roared out.
Without any further warning, the deep blue-haired boy sprinted forward, not giving Izuku any time to think as his face was smashed by Hiroto's left fist, knocking him off his feet and a few feet back onto the ground.
With his own roar of anger, Katsuki responded in kind, getting close to the boy as he punched him in the stomach, activating his quirk and creating an explosion that made the boy stumble back.
Please, be careful...
Katsuki rushed towards Hiroto, but the boy used two of his arms to steady himself, getting back onto even footing before throwing a right-handed straight punch at Katsuki's head. Katsuki avoided it swiftly, dodging down and diagonally as he got closer to the boy, intent on blasting him again.
Izuku, seeing both the smirk on the older boy's face, as well as Katsuki's mistake, tried to warn him. "Watch out Kacchan!"
Smack!
Izuku's warning wasn't nearly fast enough, Hiroto's lower left first connecting with the top of Katsuki's temple, bashing him onto the ground, where the older boy's foot then hit his ribs and sent him away a few feet.
Stop this.
By this point Izuku had staggered to his feet… but Hiroto had noticed, immediately charging and punching his stomach with one of his left arms, using two other arms to punch Izuku hard in the chest, knocking him back onto the ground coughing.
"Not such a useful quirk now, huh?" Hiroto taunted, clearly beginning to feel vindicated as he walked towards Izuku, intent on finishing the fight.
"Get away from Deku!" Katsuki's voice caught the boy's attention as he saw the blond charging him once more, clearly intending on defeating the bully.
Please don't charge again Kacchan.
Hiroto lashed out with both of his right fists, but Katsuki twisted his body, taking a step to the outside as he blasted the older boy in his ribs, following it up with a kick that pushed the boy away.
Hiroto snarled, having decided that Katsuki was more important the handle than the boy who couldn't get himself off the ground. Hiroto rushed towards Katsuki, but this time, had a solid game plan.
When he got close, Hiroto's upper left arm punched straight towards Katsuki, with his lower left arm going for a backhand, one that covered the left side of his body, thus keeping Katsuki from doding to the outside like he had done earlier. Seeing Katsuki's eyes begin to center in on his right side, Hiroto grinned widely.
"KACCHAN DON'T!"
Katsuki moved towards Hiroto's right, much to the boy's satisfaction. When Katsuki punched with his left hand, Hiroto caught it with his upper right, using his lower right hand to punch Katsuki hard in the stomach, making the boy double over.
Please… stop this. Why can't I help!?
Hiroto capitalized on his opportunity, stepping on both of Katsuki's feet, standing literally on top of the boy's feet as his upper-left arm grabbed Katsuki's right arm, effectively locking all four of Katsuki's limbs, while still leaving two arms available.
I NEED to stop this.
"I'm… I'm sorry! Please, just leave Kacchan alone!" Izuku's pleas were completely ignored, as the older boy began to rain punch after punch onto Katsuki, hitting his face, his body, his arms, anything, the boy helpless to respond.
I need power for this fight.
Izuku began to feel a tingle all over his exposed arms and legs, tears leaking from his eyes as he watched Katsuki get bruised and even begin to bleed from his nose as Hiroto continued his ruthless onslaught.
I need control right now.
Right straight, left cross, left hook, right hammer, right body shot, left straight, right hook… Hiroto continued to beat Katsuki like a punching bag as Izuku pulled on the tingling sensation with all his might.
I need…
I NEED CONTROL!
The ground rushing towards him made both Katsuki and Hiroto slip, the younger boy falling from the older bully's… no, the villain's grasp as they both hit the ground, though Katsuki's fall was slowed slightly as he landed.
The ground rushed further and further, making what almost seemed like a small bump surrounding the depression in the ground around the boy, making him seem isolated as he rose to his feet steadily.
That… villain-in-the-making's eyes seemed to lock onto him, as he stood himself up straight. His green hair had now turned a stone-like gray, taking on a much shorter and more orderly look. His eyes were now a chocolate brown, though they held none of the warmth or compassion one might expect from that color. His frame was certainly a bit bigger now, though still smaller than the aggressor standing before him.
"Why are you looking at me like that, huh?! You think you are better than me?" The villain challenged, not waiting for a response before he rushed to attack.
20 feet…
15 feet…
10 feet… perfect, now the target was within range. As Hiroto began to raise his right arm for the finishing blow, the gray-nette clenched his fist tight.
The ground around Hiroto's left foot began to rise, climbing quickly to get all the way up to the boy's shin, before pulling down and backwards sharply, immediately throwing the boy's upper body towards the ground.
Before he could hit the ground though, the new element pressed his heel firmly into the ground, causing the ground below Hiroto's stomach to jet up, pressing into his stomach much harder than any gut-punch could have.
The boy immediately coughed up spittle and a bit of blood, his head and stomach taking vicious blows from his landing… but the element wasn't done yet.
As he walked closer, he raised his arm and dropped it, causing a small pillar of earth to jet up… before curving downwards and slamming into the bully's back, hard, making him yelp.
He then raised one of his hands, getting a small slab to lift up under the right of the boy's ribcage, painfully flipping the bully onto his back, as pillars of earth began to rise up and rain back down onto the boy's ribs and chest, slamming him with a vicious barrage. Ribs, stomach, arms, face. Nothing was escaping the rods of stone and dirt that smashed into the boy.
By this point, Katsuki's eyes were wide, clearly having noticed what exactly was going on. He could only think of one thing he could do here.
"Earth element, whatever your name is, stop this! We already won! He won't attack us again!" Katsuki nearly pleaded, the full realization of the dangers of Izuku's quirk now finally hitting him like a truck.
Katsuki looked into the gray haired boy's eyes and saw something that made him pale. It wasn't rage, it wasn't panic, it wasn't anxiety… It was a calm certainty. The boy created four cuffs from the earth to lock Hiroto's wrists to the ground, palms up, as small rock's began to form and slowly rise up from under two of the boy's elbows. They were beginning to be pushed in a direction they weren't supposed to bend.
"Maybe… but I'm going to make sure. If he acts like this now… what if he becomes a villain one day? Everyone else can function with two arms, I'm just going to make sure he never thinks of acting like this again" The element's calm voice was clear to Katsuki over Hiroto's screaming, his voice full of conviction and self-assuredness.
Hiroto's arms began to bend further, the crook of his arms being raised higher and higher until…
"Stop this!" The element finally stopped the bully's punishment when a teacher's voice carried over them, getting them all to stop entirely. No one seemed to move an inch as the teacher parted through the students and stood in front of them.
"Ishanami! Bakugou! Midoriya! All three of you are in huge trouble. All three of you to the principal's office now!" The teacher's demand made the element release the restraints, as all three of them took a little bit of time to stand, all hurt in differing manners but none enough to keep them from moving, albeit painfully.
As they walked into the school building, Katsuki's face held a grim and somber understanding, fully realizing what it was he intended to help Izuku with, and that he was never going to let himself back out of it.
And that's all for now!
A few things I want to quickly address:
If any of you thought that was a bit much… buckle up then, because this story has a lot more brutality and elements on the way.
If any of you think the dialogue is a bit childish… yes. I wanted to try and make it as un-complex and un-sophisticated as I possibly could while still conveying both the points and information clearly.
When will we be getting to the beginning of the show? In roughly 3 chapters, give or take. I want to create some connections, address some new elements, etc.
Will Izuku always be this weak? No. I intend for him to become capable in some manner himself, but a key part of this story is him figuring out how to safely and properly have his elements fight with him.
I hope you all enjoyed this new chapter, I've got plenty more on the way. And while you are waiting, please feel free to check out the other work I've posted. It's all of high quality (I would like to think) and I've put plenty of effort into them.
Next time: A disaster, a Savior, and a Mistake!
