A/N: Here it is, the final chapter of my Meister of Rebellion story.
I hope you all have enjoyed reading this story, at least as much as I've enjoyed writing it. But sadly, all good things must come to an end.
For note in this chapter, I'll be referring to the 00 Qan [T] as the 00 Quanta. It's just easier for me to write faster with it like that.
Also, I'll have characters from Code Geass that I never used in previous chapters appear here, though they won't have a lot of screen time. I'll also be giving some Gundam 00 Characters some appearances and screen time as well.
Keep in mind that the current world status is similar to how it was in Lelouch of the Resurrection.
So, let's begin.
I do not own Code Geass or Gundam 00. Both are works of Sunrise.
7 years later
"Breaking news!" Milly Ashford began. "Nunnally vi Britannia, Empress of the Principality of Britannia, has been kidnapped by the Kingdom of Zilkhstan. Along with her guards, the Empress was on a relief aid mission to the Kingdom's borders to assist refugees when they were ambushed and taken captive. The Kingdom of Zilkhstan has been most infamous for being the only country able to repel a Britannian invasion, with so few numbers. The primary source of the economy for the nation was the exchanging of their soldiers to other nations. But since we've had a stable peace for the last 7 years, their economy has been suffering greatly. They have consistently refused any sort of aid offered by the UFN. The kidnappers have already released a statement saying that if Britannia wants their Empress back, they will have to come and get her back themselves. They could be using this as a way to stoke the flames of war so that their country can rise out of the depression. Now on everyone's lips, the question is: how is Britannia or the UFN going to respond to this. We'll be back to give you more updates as they appear."
"We can't just go charging in." UFN Chairwoman Kaguya Sumeragi said with a stern voice. "If we go in with our whole armed forces, we'll be committing an act of war, which is exactly what the Zilkhstans want."
"We could try to send a small squad of warriors like the Knights of the Round or Zero Squadron," The new Supreme Commander of the Black Knights Kyoshiro Tohdoh suggested, before frowning. "But if the reports our spies gave us are true, that nearly all of Zilkhstan's Knightmares are equipped with pseudo-GN Drives, then they wouldn't stand a chance on their own."
"How in the world did they even get their hands on them? We don't have access to that technology." The deputy Commander and Tohdoh's wife Nagasi Chiba wondered.
"Best guess," The recently promoted Captain of Zero Squad, Rai began, "They probably salvaged them from the remains of the Battle of Mt. Fuji several years ago. I know I wasn't present in that battle, as I joined the Black Knights after the war was over, but I've read extensively the reports on the battle. And that not all of the GN-Knightdrones remains were accounted for. So most likely they took them and figured out how to create their own pseudo-GN Drives."
"Those sneaky little…" The Commander of the Britannian Military branch Cornelia li Britianna muttered under her breath as she clenched her fist in anger, her worry over Nunnally's safety the most prominent thought in her mind at the moment. "Is there anything we can do to try and rescue Nunnally?"
Kaguya regrettably shook her head. "Not without starting an all-out war, which is the last thing Nunnally would want if it meant rescuing her. If we did that, then all we would be doing is wasting the sacrifices so many people gave for us to have a peaceful future."
"Could we try asking other nations for support?" Chiba suggested. "Maybe they could help, and it could not be seen as the UFN taking action."
"No, we can't ask that of other nations," Rai said. "Even if we did, the UFN has over 80 percent of the world under its banner. The nations not under our flag either won't help us because they may disagree with us, or can't because they don't have the strength to challenge the Zilkhstan's."
"So we can't do anything without leading to all-out war, and Nunnally's trapped there as their prisoner for who knows how long," Cornelia said as a feeling of hopelessness filled her. Was she going to lose the last of her family?
"Not necessarily," Tohdoh spoke up, getting everyone's attention. They all saw the smirk he had plastered on his face. "We may not be able to do anything, and other nations can't accomplish this goal. However, there is one group that isn't bound by politics or borders. And they are more than equipped to take on this army."
As the realization dawned on the others, they couldn't help but smirk and nod in agreement, knowing who Tohdoh was talking about. As if one cue, Kaguya got an email. She opened it up, smiled as she read it, and showed it to the others. "Well Commander, it seems your prediction was spot on."
It was a short message, but the words and the sender said it all.
'Leave this to us. L.L.'
As for Kaname Ohgi, the Prime Minister of Japan, looked out at the rebuilt city of Tokyo from the window in his office, he couldn't help but smile at the view. 7 years ago, this city was still a smoldering crater, and before that, it was filled with such hate and disgust that there was murder in the streets almost daily.
But now, all he saw was love and kindness between the people in the streets below. The Ghettos had been remodeled into the areas of their former glory before the occupation. Japanese, Britannians, and other ethnicities were walking around together and exchanging words of kindness and support for each other. It was a utopia that Ohgi never dreamed of when he was a resistant fighter, and even then as a Black Knight. But one person did see this dream becoming possible, and he made it come to life.
The door to his office opened and he turned and saw his wife Chigusa along with their son, Naoto Ohgi, coming to visit the busy Prime Minister. Ohgi scooped his child up in his arms and spun him around, despite how large he had gotten over the years. His wife came up to him and all three gazed out at the city together.
There was a long moment of silence before Chigusa decided to break the silence. "You're not worried?" She asked.
"About what?" Ohgi asked as he put Naoto down to go play on the computer.
"You know…" Chigusa trailed off for a bit as she made sure Naoto wasn't listening to them. "The kidnapping?"
Ohgi's eyes then widened in realization. "Ah. That." He said. "Why should I be?"
Chigusa gave her husband a disapproving frown. "Why shouldn't you be?" She asked.
Ohgi merely smiled. "Because I know everything is gonna work out." He simply explained.
Chigusa's frown only grew. "And how do you know that?" She asked.
"Because the Zilkhstan's made a fatal mistake," Ohgi said before he looked out at the city again. "They chose the wrong hostage."
It was at that moment that Chigusa's eyes widened in realization. That was true, the Kingdom of Zilkhstan made a grave mistake when they took Empress Nunnally vi Britannia hostage. Specifically that fact that they took her.
"And if I know him, which I admit I never really did or currently do," Ohgi said sheepishly. "But I know enough about him that I wouldn't want to be the Kingdom of Zilkhstan right now."
"Give me a status report on our troops." General Bolvona Forgnar, the Commander-in-Chief of Zilkhstan's military, asked the tactical officer when the King wasn't giving any orders.
"Sir! The first and second squadron is at the front, ready for any enemy units to come their way. The third and fourth are in hiding and ready to ambush any incoming enemies on your mark. The reserves are all powered up and ready to fly on your notice. Your son Shesthaal Forgnar is at the temple, protecting the queen and Empress we've taken. And King Shalio is on standby."
'This doesn't seem good.' Bologna said to himself as he gazed out at the barren desert that was his home. 'Why hasn't the UFN, or even Britannia made a move yet? It's been almost twenty-four hours since we've captured Empress Nunnally. We should have seen a response by now. So why haven't they made a move?'
"Sir!" The radar officer shouted out.
"What is it?" Bolvone said as he came up and looked over the radar. "Are the enemy approaching?"
"No sir." The radar officer said. "Something appears to be jamming the radar, I can't seem to get reading from it."
'An attempt to blind us! They've made their move!' Bologna thought as he turned to the comm officer. "Order all our units to prepare for battle!"
"Sir, something also seems to be jamming our communications. I can't open a channel with any of the soldiers." the officer reported.
'Comms and radar?' Bolvona thought as he held a hand to his chin. 'It seems like they're trying to be sneaky and catch us by surprise, but what purpose would they have? They have a larger military force, so they shouldn't need to catch us off guard. Unless…' His eyes then widened with realization. 'It's not the UFN or Britannia.'
"Sir!" An officer's shout took him out of his mind and back to reality. "We have a visual of an unidentified falling object descending from the sky. I'll pull it up on the main monitor." Within a few seconds, the screen shifted from a tactical display of their forces to the image the officer caught. When it showed up, everyone gasped.
It was a white and blue machine, having a strange green orb in its chest and a large sword/rifle folded in on its right arm, along with two blades, a long and a short sword, stored on its waist. But what was most startling was the cone-shaped engine on the machine's back generating a strange light.
As the soldiers looked in awe at the approaching machine, Bolvona's eyes narrowed. 'So it's them. Now it makes sense.' He thought before giving out orders. "Change our comm channels to channel 5 and tell our soldiers to move out now! Send a message to the King and Queen immediately! Tell them it's a Code Gundam!"
"Sir, no disrespect, but aren't you overreacting?" An officer asked as he stood up and faced the General. "We all know of the exploits carried out by the Gundams, but that's just one machine against our whole army, most of which are equipped with GN Drives of our own. Doesn't this seem a bit much?"
Bolvona's eyes narrowed at the young officer, causing him to step back in fear. "You would do better than to underestimate the Gundams," Bolvona warned. "For one of them is responsible for the creating world we now live in. Especially if that machine belongs to who I think it does."
"My Queen!" Shesthaal Forgnar, the captain of the Queen's elite guard, spoke as he bowed before the queen. "We've just received word from my father's command. It's a Code Gundam!"
Shamna's eyes widened. "A Code Gundam eh?" She repeated. "Then we must prepare accordingly. Have the guards activate the temple's security, and make sure no Gundam gets past this point." Shamna ordered.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" Shesthaal said as he bowed once more before hurrying off to warn the guards. Shamna then pressed a button on her throne that opened a channel to a specific individual.
"Shalio? Did you get all that?" She asked the man on the other end.
"Indeed I did sister!" Came the excited voice of Zilkhstan's King and Shamna's younger brother, Shalio. "And I couldn't be happier! Finally, I'll be testing my strength against the likes of the legendary Gundams!"
Shamna couldn't help but smile at her brother's excitement. But sometimes that joy could get him into trouble. "Just be careful Shalio. These warriors will be unlike anything we have faced before."
"You do not need to worry sister!" Shalio assured her. "I won't let our country fall to the likes of these maggots! I will be victorious and then we will bring prosperity to our nation."
She let out a small laugh. "Then good luck!" she said as she closed the channel. She made her way to the wall behind her and entered a secret combination only her and her closest confidants knew.
The wall slide opened and revealed loyal female guards, who stood at the ready. At the end of the room was the fabled thought elevator, the last one in existence to be specific, as all the others had been destroyed in the past seven years. On each end of the thought elevator and in the center, was a GN Drive, but these were different than the ones they equipped their Knightmares with. These have been created using stolen plans and formulas from Aeolia Schenberg, making them true GN Drives, unlike the pseudo ones they copied from those destroyed Knightdrones over seven years ago. However, creating them took a lot of resources, and they only had enough to make three, and Shamna needed these three for what she had planned next.
And off to the side of the room was another integral part of her plan. A young woman floated in a tank. It was Empress Nunnally vi Britannia, sound asleep.
"How are things progressing," Shamna asked a pair of scientists as she approached them.
"We are nearly complete, Your Majesty." The head scientist said as he and his team bowed. "We just need to finish these calibrations and the GN Drives will be ready for you to use."
"Excellent!" Shamna said as she gazed over at Nunnally. 'Capturing the Empress was the first step in my plan.' Shamna then looked away from the girl over at the GN Drives that surrounded her. 'And once these three Drives are complete, no one will be able to stop me from reigniting the flames of war and saving my country!'
The Gundam revealed to be the Exia, continued to descend to the ground at high speeds. It5s pilot, a young man by the age of seventeen had an indifferent look on his face as he began to give his mission report.
"240082 Exia has target location insight." The young man by the name of Setsuna F. Seiei, formerly known as Soran Ibrahim said in a stoic tone. "Cease GN Particle dispersal upon arrival at the target." The screen on the Gundam then zoomed in on the army of machines below. "Targets confirmed, commencing the first phase on schedule."
Within a small compartment area, massive amounts of data were being moved and communicated through hundreds of small screens, and a young man was floating in the middle of it. Usually, this amount of data would be overwhelming to the likes of a normal person. But this individual was not normal.
This was Tieria Erde, a human being created by the same mechanisms that created Ribbons Almark and his Innovators. But unlike them, Tieria was not created to try and rule humanity, he was meant to help guide it. And that's exactly what he would do with Celestial Beings. He opened his eyes as then declared, "It's begun."
"What? A Gundam?" Swaile Qujappat, one of the most skilled assassins and Knightmare pilots in the military said in surprise after hearing the information come in from central command as he waited with his forces on the front lines. "Why now of all time?" He asked, but he had to cut the communication as the Gundam landed itself in front of them.
The Exia landed in front of them, yet it made no move immediately, seemingly waiting for the Zilkhstans to make the first move. No one moved or spoke for a long time before the speakers on the Exia cracked before the pilot spoke.
"We are Celestial Beings!" Setsuna declared, shocking the Zilkhstans present. So it was true, these Gundams did belong to Celestial Beings, meaning that the famous organization that challenged the world seven years ago has returned. "We seek the release of Empress Nunnally vi Britannia. Hand her over immediately, or else we will have to use force."
There was silence from the Zilkhstans for a long moment before Swaile broke out in laughter. "That's rich!" Swaile cried while still laughing hysterically. "You think just because you show up in your fancy Gundam that we'll just be intimidated to listen to you?! You may have had the most advanced technology 7 years ago, but that was then. This is now!"
For emphasis, Swaile's GN-Knightmare pulled out a GN Knife and charged the Exia. The Exia just stood still for a long moment as the Knightmare charged it.
"Exia, target elimination," Setsuna said calmly as the Exia's eyes glowed in activation. The GN Sword then unfolded and the Exia swung upward with the large blade slicing off the arm with the knife.
Swaile held a shocked expression on his face as he glared at the Gundam. "You piece of-" The assassin cried as he raised his machine's rifle and fired at the Exia, which easily dodged the blast and spun around as it drew a beam saber in its left hand and slashed off the rest of the arm carrying the knife. It then sliced off the arm with the rifle with its GN Sword, then the head with the beam saber. It then finished with jamming both its melee weapons into the GN-Knightmare's cockpit. It then pulled the blades out of the cockpit as the Knightmare fell limp as the Exia sheathed its Beam saber and folded its GN Sword in.
The rest of the soldiers stood by and wearily looked at the Gundam as it stood there standing over its defeated enemy. Setsuna didn't say anything, but the Gundam's stance seemed to convey a message that said 'come and get me' to the other soldiers. And they complied.
The Exia then drew the GN Short and Long swords from its waist and charged the incoming Knightmares, meeting them metal for metal and slicing them apart at the seams.
"Setsuna seems to be getting worked up again, isn't he?" Neil Dylandy said to his younger twin brother as he saw in his Gundam, Dynames' cockpit, observing the battle.
"Well, what did you expect?" Lyle Dylandy shot back as he sat in Cherudim, his own Gundam. "He's fascinated by everything concerning the Gundam, and this being his first real battle, he can't help it."
"Well in that case," Neil began as he brought down a sniper rifle-like attachment from the roof of the cockpit and pulled it over his head as he smirked. "Let's back him up!"
Lyle smirked. "You know it!" He said as he brought down the same sniper-like attachment in his own Gundam.
"Lockon Stratos…" Neil began, uttering the brothers' shared code name.
"... Targeting and firing!" Lyle finished as they both took shots with their long-range beam rifles, destroying any incoming mobile suits that tried to get the jump on the Exia.
"The first phase is proceeding on schedule. Beginning the second phase in 120 seconds." Feldt Grace, Ptolemy's tactical operator, reported from her console on the bridge of Ptolemy.
"Contact Allelujah and Tieria," Sumeragi Lee Noriega, the tactical forecaster of Celestial Beings said, "Tell them to engage the third and fourth squadron in reserve so they don't overwhelm Setsuna!"
"Roger that!" Feldt said as she sent the orders to the two other Gundam Meisters.
"Move to the side, we'll flank the blue and white one!" The third squadron commander ordered as he and his troops moved from behind to flank the Exia. However, one Knightmare slowed down a bit when it looked up in the sky and saw an incoming strange-looking orange and white fighter with a familiar glowing light behind it.
"Commander! We have incoming!" The soldier said as he began to open fire along with other squadmates of his. The fighter dodged and weaved around the incoming bullets and beam fire with ease, despite the large black tail unit it had on its rear.
When it got close to the third squadron, it dropped a series of air-to-surface bombs in a bombing run on the Zilkhstan soldiers. A few soldiers were able to get out of the way of the bombs, but many of them, including the commander and the soldier who first noticed the bombs got caught up in the blast.
"So I've become a mass murderer now." The fighter's pilot Alleujah Haptism said in disappointment as he hung his head low. He then shot up in an instant, a determined look crossing his face. "So be it!"
The fighter released the tail unit before it then transformed into a humanoid mech, one with a familiar cone-shaped power source on its back. This was Gundam Kyrios. A fact that many soldiers soon realized as Kyrios then drew its GN Beam Submachine Gun and fired on the troops.
"Did you see that?! That Gundam destroyed more than half of them with one bombing run!" A soldier from the fourth squadron said as they stopped moving to gaze at the destruction the Gundam was causing.
The squad leader wasn't intimidated in the slightest, however. "It doesn't matter! There's only four of them, and a whole army of us! They don't stand a chance against the nation of Zilkhstan!" He then turned toward his soldiers. "We need to regroup with the other squads and plan a counterattack. Then we'll show those-"
"Commander! Above us!" A soldier yelled out as it pointed its Knightmare up in the sky. The Commander looked up to see a large bulky machine descend from the sky, charging up a massive swirl of pink energy.
The commander's eyes widened in fear. "Back! Get back, everyone!" But it was too late.
Despite the commander's warnings, the bulky machine had already launched a massive swirl of energy down toward the ground. It exploded into a ball of destructive energy when it impacted, destroying any unfortunate Knightmare that was close to the impact zone, sending the rest of the Knightmares flying back.
As the Knightmare's began to recover, they looked in surprise and fear to see as the smoke began to clear to reveal the Gundam Virtue, piloted by Tieria, who had entered his Gundam shortly before his orders were given to begin his part of the operation.
"Virtue, engaging targets," Tieria said in an indifferent tone of voice as he fired the GN Cannons located on Virtue's shoulders and destroyed the GN-Knightmare belonging to the commander of the fourth squadron. His last thought before he died was how he had never felt such terror before.
"We have confirmation! Five Gundams have appeared on the battlefield!" An officer reported as he turned to face Bolvona, who held a contemplative look on his face.
Five Gundams had appeared. They had anticipated the appearance of a Gundam, considering the hostage they took and who she was related to. But five of them they hadn't predicted. And none of these were the Gundam they expected to come. Bolvona was sure he would come, but did he not fight anymore.
The general shook his head. It didn't matter at the moment, what mattered was destroying these Gundams that were currently destroying them. "Contact Bitool! Tell him to spring his trap and send out the remainder of our forces!"
The Exia had just finished eliminating another group of enemies that tried to get the jump on it before it then sheathed its swords. "Exia, second phase complete," Setsuna said in his monotone voice. "Beginning third phase in-"
He was interrupted when the alert in his cockpit went off to warn him of an incoming signal. Suddenly, the ground beneath him began to shake as a massive scorpion-like GN-Knightfortress emerged from the ground to grab the Exia. The Gundam tried to ascend to avoid it, but one of the claws managed to grab the Exia by the leg and pulled it, slamming it onto the ground.
The Exia quickly recovered and managed to back up to get a good distance between it and the mysterious Knightfortress. "Well well! Looks like it's my lucky day!" A gleeful voice came from the scorpion-like machine. "I just caught myself a Gundam."
"Yeah, and who are you?" Setsuna asked in a firm tone as he gripped the controls of his Gundam.
The pilot of the Batalalan Du, the GN-Knightfortress, smirked. "Oh, where are my manners?" the pilot said. "I am Belq Batoum Bitool! And I am your death!" He declared as he fired all six of the Batalalan Du's dreadnought class harkens toward the Exia.
The Gundam was able to dodge the initial launch, but with these harkens equipped with boosters, it made dodging after the initial launch much harder. A few of the harkens managed to even hit the Exia before the Gundam unfolded its GN Sword and sliced off a couple of the harkens. It then quickly switched back to rifle mode and fired at the Batalalan Du. but to his surprise, as the beams hit the GN-Knightfortress, the damage was little to none.
Bitool noticed the shock in the pilot and laughed. "You won't be getting through my hide with those weak blasts. This machine's armor could withstand the power from the infamous Guren's radiant wave surger. But you can go ahead and try anyway!" He then had a sick smile on his face, almost like a predator stalking his helpless prey. "I like watching them squirm."
The Batalalan Du then raised its tail and fired a massive beam of energy toward the Exia, followed by a volley of missiles. The Exia managed to dodge the beam in time and avoid most of the missiles, though some managed to hit the Gundam. Setsuna gritted his teeth. Perhaps he underestimated the Zilkhstans. He then opened his channel to the other Meisters. "This is Exia, requesting backup."
"Sorry kid! My brother and I are all a little busy right now!" Neil's voice came back over the comm.
And busy the Lockon Stratos brothers were, as Neil continued to fire from a long distance to try and provide as much support as he could, Lyle was covering his back by firing at the soldiers that managed to sneak up behind them.
It was beginning to get overwhelming that Neil had to stop firing so that he could provide help to his brother.
"We're surrounded right now! Looks like they knew we were coming to some extent!" Lyle said as he continued firing.
"I can confirm that!" Allelujah's voice came over the comm.
Kyrios was currently surrounded by a swarm of GN-Knightmares! Allelujah was trying his best to thin the herd as best he could, but the numbers had just kept growing more and more. He destroyed as much as he could with his GN Vulcans, submachine gun, and missiles, even sliced apart any Knightmares that got too close with the beam saber.
But the numbers had become too great for him to leave and support any of his comrades.
"It seems they prepared for us well," Tieria admitted. "Impressive."
"How about you admire the bad guys after we take them down instead of before they're about to kill us!" Allelujah fired back as he continued to try and survive the wave of enemies.
"Just making an observation. That's all." Tieria defended as he sat within Virtue
To be honest he wasn't doing too good either. A constant bombardment of enemy fire forced him to activate his GN Field. The shielding kept him safe but restricted his movements and kept him from firing back. And with the onslaught the Zilkhstan's were currently giving him, his GN field wouldn't last too long.
"Looks like each of us are on our own for now," Tieria said.
"Understood," Setsuna said as he closed down the communications and drew his GN Short and Long Swords. He would just have to deal with this enemy on his own. He then rushed in to try and get in for close-quarters-combat, hopefully, this machine's armor wouldn't be able to stop the GN Swords.
The Batalalan Du fired off another beam from its tail which managed to hit the Exia dead on, but the Gundam managed to bring up its GN Shield to block the attack. It managed to stop the beam before it eventually overpowered the shield and destroyed it, but the Exia was relentless in its pursuit, emerging from the cloud of smoke and slashing downward with its swords.
The Batalalan Du was able to dodge the attack as it then raised its claw and brought it down on the Gundam. The Exia managed to block the attack with its GN Swords, bringing them up in a cross-block. But the pressure and strength behind the claws began to push the Exia down into the ground.
The Exia tried to push back against the GN-Knightfortress, but the strength behind the claws brought the Exia down to its knees, even cracking the ground beneath it. Bitool seemed to be disappointed. "Is that really all you're capable of? I'm disappointed in you Gundams!"
Setsuna gritted his teeth in anger at the man's implications. Did he dare doubt Gundam's power? Well, Setsuna would be sure to correct that mistake.
"TRANS-AM!" Setsuna shouted as the Exia was then enveloped in the red light of Trans-Am. The Swords began to then cut into the claws of the Batalalan Du, much to Bitool's shock.
"What?!" He yelled as he then backed the GN-Knightfortress away as the glowing red Exia ascended to the sky. It then sheathed the Long GN Sword in its right hand as it aimed and fired with its GN Rifle. The beam hit the Knightfortress, but they managed to leave some noticeable dents in the armor unlike before. Most likely due to the increased power of the beams from Trans-Am.
"You doubt the power the Gundams possess, that is your mistake!" Setsuna cried in anger as he then unfolded the GN Sword and charged the Batalalan Du. "Ideologies like yours are the reason why the world is so twisted. And I will use this blade to cut that twistedness out of you!" The young Gundam Meister declared as he raised his sword
Bitool however, wasn't frightened or worried in the least, rather, he was excited. As the Exia closed in on him, the Batalalan Du brought its claws out to the side. As the Exia was about to strike, an electromagnetic field was suddenly generated from the claws around the Gundam, sending electrical currents through the Exia, paralyzing both it and the pilot as Trans-Am deactivated.
Setsuna cried in pain as he felt the electricity dance around his body as he glared at the Batalalan Du.
"The Exia is trapped, it can't move!" Feldt cried from her station.
"The other Gundams are surrounded, they can't provide backup!" Mileina cried.
"Ptolemy's too far away, we can't reach them in time to provide back up!" Lasse said.
Sumeragi grimaced. They were more prepared for the appearance of Gundams than they anticipated. At this point, there only seemed to be one hope.
"It's ready!'' An excited holler came from the comm channel. A screen popped up in front of Sumeragi that showed Ian down in the hangar with Nina and his wife standing behind him. "The 00 Quanta's ready!"
That one statement reignited the spark of hope through the bridge as everyone soon began to smirk in excitement. "Thanks, Ian! I'll let him know," Sumeragi said as she closed down the communication and opened up another to the leader of Celestial Beings itself. "Lelouch!"
"I heard." Came the voice of the trailblazer. "I'm heading down now." And with that, he closed down the communication.
After quickly changing into his black pilot suit, Lelouch was about to leave his room and make his way down to the hangar when a voice stopped him.
"Wait!" Lelouch turned to the source of the voice to see his wife, Kallen Lamperouge, having a smile on her face and a young boy in her arms. "You can't go down there without your good luck charm."
Lelouch gave a small chuckle as he nodded in agreement. "You're right." He said as he walked back to her and took the child in his arms. He looked down at the blacked haired and blue-eyed child. "Don't worry Suzaku," Lelouch told his son, "I'll be back before you know it and with your Aunt Nunnally. So take care of your mother for me while I'm gone, okay?"
The small child nodded his head in understanding, causing Lelouch to smile as he gave a kiss on his forehead. He then handed the child back to Kallen, who took it and held the boy lovingly in her arms before turning to her husband and giving him a quick kiss.
"That was a little good luck from me." Kallen said after they pulled away. "Now go show those guys what happens when they mess with your sister."
Lelouch had a devious smirk on his face at those words. "I didn't even need to be told." And with that, he left the room.
"With the two new GN Drives having the same particle output, we won't be needing anything like the 0 Raiser to help stabilize the Twin Drive System." Ian explained as Lelouch sat in the pilot seat of the 00 Quanta which sat in Ptolemy's main hangar with Ian standing outside explaining the details of the new Gundam. "And we've also made sure the Quantum System is tuned to your specific level of Geass power, allowing you greater control."
"Thanks, Ian," Lelouch said as he finished the pre-launch checkup. "Now get outta here. I got a sister to save and a war to stop!" Ian smiled as he moved out of the way as the Gundam's cockpit closed.
The hangar doors then opened to reveal the blue sphere celestial body that was Earth. The home of the human race. The place where everyone, regardless of race or nationality, was from and what they all had in common.
A place that Lelouch swore he would make a better future for. A future for the people he loved, and the people that wanted and needed that future. And he wasn't gonna let some nation of mercenaries keep the world from that future.
"Increasing linear catapult voltage. Past 730. Transferring launching time to Lelouch Lamperouge." Feldt reported over the intercom as the 00 Quanta got on the launch pad and prepared to be launched.
"Rodger." Lelouch said as he gripped the controls of the Gundam hard. "00 Quanta. Lelouch Lamperouge. Launching!" And with that, the 00 Quanta shot out of Ptolemy and made its way down to the Earth below.
Setsuna continued to cry in pain as the electricity danced around his body from the claws of the Batalalan Du. All the while, Bitool couldn't help but have a sadistic smile as he heard the pain coming from the Gundam Meister.
"Did you punks really believe you could beat us?" Bitool asked rhetorically as he raised the Batalalan Du's tail cannon and began charging the beam. "We've defeated any nation that dared to cross us, even the so-called mighty Britannia couldn't stand against us, and we were outnumbered! What makes you think you punks could do what no one else ever could?! What makes you so special?!"
As the tail cannon finished charging, a beam fired, but not from the GN-Knightfortress.
The pink beam shot from above hit the tail attachment in the middle, causing the joint to explode blowing half the tail off, which led to the beam misfiring and shooting past the Gundam to hit other Zilkhstan soldiers that were approaching. "What?!" Bitool cried as two more shots from above hit the claws, shutting down their electromagnetic field, freeing the Gundam from its effect and the pilot from the shock that was delivered to their body.
"Now Setsuna!" Said Gundam Meister's eyes widened at the familiar voice. "Finish him off!" Setsuna followed those orders without hesitation. After seeing how the Knightfortress crumbled after those shots from above, he noticed the weak points in the armor was the joints. So he would just need to target those.
Reaching into the side of its legs, the Exia drew a pair of beam daggers and threw them into the two front legs of the Batalalan Du, destroying them at the joints. It then leaped into the air and drew the two beam sabers from under its shoulders and sliced off the next set of legs before jamming the sabers in the set after them. It then redrew the Short and Long GN Swords and jammed them into the last set of legs in the Knightfortress.
"No no no no no! No!" Bitool cried in denial as he tried to do what he could to get the Batalalan Du up and running. But the most he was able to do was to get it to sit upright. Which was a big mistake as it left it vulnerable to a fatal attack. An opening Setsuna was gonna capitalize on.
"You want to know what makes us different from any others who challenged you before?" Setsuna repeated the question he had been asked earlier as he raised Exia's GN Sword high, the light from the rising sun shining off the blade. "The answer is simple: Gundams!"
And with a battle cry, the Exia charged the Batalalan Du. Bitool panicked and began to ask for mercy, but his pleas fell on deaf ears as Setsuna continued charging with no signs of slowing down. The Exia's blade penetrated the belly of the Batalalan Du, the blade emerging from the other end.
The Exia removed the blade and backed away just in time as the GN-Knightfortress went up in flames. The Exia stared at the flaming wreckage for a moment before looking up in the sky to see the descending machine, his mind flashing back to his childhood when he first laid eyes on the Gundam. And just like that time, a Gundam had saved his life once again.
"Looks like this is it," Neil said as Dynames and Cheridum got back-to-back as they were surrounded by a massive group of GN-Knightmares. "Didn't picture this was how I'd go out."
"Really? I thought we would die exactly like this." Lyle shot back as he kept his Gundam's handguns trained on the Knightmares, hoping to at least take a few of them with him and Neil. "But I have to admit, I didn't think it would happen on our first mission."
As the Knightmares were about to open fire on the Gundams, a pair of floating swords suddenly came out of nowhere and proceeded to blast beams from their tips that destroyed multiple Knightmares. It even speared multiple Knightmares frames on both blades, thanks to the long length of each blade.
It was over in a matter of seconds.
"What was that?!" Neil shouted in disbelief as they went from being cornered to being safe in less than a minute.
As the flying swords finished off the remainder of the Knightmares, the blades then began to fly off in the direction they came from, seemingly to return to their owner. Lyle's eyes widened as a light bulb went off in his head. "He's here."
Allelujah was being pursued by a large number of Knightmares, Kyrios was currently in its fighter mode yet the Knightmares were gaining on him. "Dang! Don't these guys ever quit!" Allelujah complained as he looked behind for a brief moment to see his pursuers.
He looked back in front of him and gasped in shock as two flying swords, smaller than the ones with the Lockon Stratos brothers, fired off beams in his direction. The Gundam Meister was about to do a barrel roll to dodge the beams when he saw that they flew right past him, and hit a couple of the Knightmares chasing him, sending the rest scattering.
He transformed the Kyrios back to Gundam mode and floated in between the two swords that continued to fire beams. He didn't know what exactly was happening at the moment, but he wasn't gonna complain as he drew his GN Beam Submachine Gun and fired at the Knightmares. Within moments, the Knightmares were all destroyed under the combined firepower of Kyrios and the two floating swords.
The swords then flew off in the direction they came from. It was then that Allelujah recognized the blades. He then smirked. "What took you so long?!"
As Virtue's GN Field failed, the Knightmares prepared to deliver the killing blow. "The shields are down! All units open fi-" Before the commander could finish the order, a beam from above shot his Knightmare, destroying it.
The Zilkhstans and the Gundam Meister looked in the sky to see another pair of green blades, smaller than the previous two pairs of swords descend on them. The Knightmares fired at the incoming blades, to try and destroy them, but these blades were too versatile and maneuverable for the Knightmares to hit.
With their attention now focused on the blades, Virtue brought up its GN Bazooka and fired at the Knightmares, obliterating them, and a good chunk of land to go along with it. Tieria then looked up in the sky to see the blades return to whence they came. "Is that…."
Bolovona's whole body shook as he stared at the new arrival. This is what they have been planning for. This was what they had prepared all those traps for. It was for this moment when he would arrive.
And he managed to destroy the traps in less than five minutes.
He had to go with the last option they had available if they had any chance of overcoming the Gundam Meister that had changed the world. He opened a comm channel.
"My King!" Bolovona began. "He has arrived!"
"I see." The voice of the King said. "Stall him for only a few moments. I will be there to engage him shortly."
"Acknowledged your Highness." Bolovona closed down the comm after that, leaving Shalio alone as his Gundam's systems began to power up.
Despite the danger that the new arrival posed to both his kingdom and his people, Shailo couldn't keep the excited sadistic grin off his face. "I've been waiting for you to show up, white devil!"
As the Twin Drives on his Gundam, the Nagid Shu Mane begins to power up, Shalio couldn't keep the excitement off his face. As both the King of Zilkhstan and the strongest warrior of the nation itself, Shalio always looked forward to battle, especially with strong opponents. And this Lelouch Lamperouge and his Gundam was supposedly the strongest warrior in the world.
He would relish this battle before he would end the life of this enemy. For his Kingdom, for his people, and most importantly, for his sister.
"Nagid Shu Mane! King Shalio! Taking off!" He declared as his Gundam launched out of the hangar and toward the field of his greatest battle yet.
"Setsuna! Are you alright?!" Lelouch asked as all the sword bits returned to the 00 Quanta and he landed close to the Exia.
"I am fine Lelouch Lamperouge," Setsuna told his leader in his usual monotone voice as if nothing happened.
Lelouch sighed as he shook his head. "We've gotta work on that tone of yours Setsuna." He mumbled on his breath as the other Gundams joined them. "Is everyone else alright?" He asked, hoping for more of an answer.
"All good here boss!/We're a-okay!/We're alive aren't we?/Nothing wrong with me!" Came the replies of the Gundam Meisters. Lelouch sighed in relief. While he was sure they could all handle themselves if push came to shove, he didn't want to lose them in their first operation.
He then looked off in the distance and saw a large number of Zilkhstan forces approaching their position. The other Gundam Meisters noticed this too and prepared for action. "Well they don't know when to quit, I'll give them that," Lyle said as he brought up his Gundam's weapons along with the other Meisters.
They were about to move out when the 00 Quanta held up its right hand, its GN Sword, the blade coated in green, in hand, to stop them. "Leave this to me," Lelouch told his subordinates. "After all, if a King doesn't lead, how can he expect his subordinates to follow." He uttered one of his most famous philosophies.
The 00 Quanta then ascended into the air and hovered before the grand army. "Soldiers of the Kingdom of Zilkhstan. There has been much bloodshed on this day so far. There need not be anymore. I simply ask that you return my sister Nunnally vi Britannia and I can guarantee Celestial Beings will leave in peace."
The army stopped for a moment, seemingly to ponder his words. They then opened fire without warning on the 00 Quanta. Inside the cockpit of the Gundam, Lelouch's eyes narrowed in a dangerous glare. "So be it. I gave you the choice. What happens next is on you."
He then switched his GN Sword to rifle mode and launched all the sword bits off the GN Shield located on the 00 Quanta's left shoulder. The sword bits combined with the GN Sword/Rifle, extending its length, forming the GN Buster Rifle.
"TRANS-AM!" At Lelouch's cry, the Gundam was enveloped with the crimson glow of Trans-Am. The buster rifle began to spark with pink electricity before it shot a massive beam towards the Zilkhstan army. The power was so intense that the 00 Quanta had to generate a massive amount of GN Particles from behind just to not be sent flying back from the beam.
The massive surge of energy obliterated the Knightmares in its path as the 00 Quanta dragged the beam through the battlefield, destroying any other Knightmares in the path of the beam. After a few more moments, the beam died down and Lelouch shut off the Trans-Am as the sword bits returned to their recharge port on the GN shield.
The battlefield froze at the power of the Gundam. Most of the Zilkhstans even felt a new wet sensation forming in their pants as they stared in awe and fear towards the Gundam. Meanwhile, most of the Gundam Meisters smirked.
"That's the boss for you," Neil said with a smirk. "It's always best not to get on his bad side."
"Amen to that brother," Lyle said in agreement as the other Meisters just looked in awe towards the 00 Quanta.
Lelouch was about to move forward to the temple when the alarms went off. He reacted just in time to block an incoming beam with his GN Shield. He looked toward the source to see an incoming machine at high speed. It continued to fire beams as the 00 Quanta either dodged or blocked with its GN Shield.
When the mysterious machine closed the distance, it slashed at the 00 Quanta with a sword, the Gundam managed to dodge, causing the machine to rocket past him. He looked in surprise as he saw on the back shoulders of the strange machine with the purple cloak around its waist were two pseudo-solar reactors.
Before Lelouch could ponder this any further, the machine quickly turned around and shot back toward him. He blocked the next attack with his GN Sword, to his great surprise, the blade wasn't able to cut through the sword of the strange machine. It then broke off the attack and the two backed away from each other as they circled one another.
Neither made a move, waiting for the other to move first before taking action. They just floated there, circling each other, not taking any action against the other. They did nothing nor said anything for the next few moments before Lelouch decided to break the silence.
"That machine you're piloting," Lelouch began as his eyes narrowed. "That's a Gundam, isn't it?"
A small chuckle came from the now identified Gundam. "Yes, you are correct." Came the voice of Zilkhstan's King and strongest warrior, Shalio. "I am King Shalio, and this is Gundam Nagid Shu Mane. A pleasure to make your acquaintance… White Devil."
Lelouch's eyes narrowed at that name. When he was conducting his armed interventions all those years ago, that was the infamous nickname they gave him and the Gundam as they had decimated any who stood in their way. In a way, Lelouch saw that name as a reminder of who he really was. He could try to come off as some righteous hero or a brilliant trailblazer, but he was a devil in sheep's clothing, those sheeps being a corrupt and twisted world he vowed to change. No matter how hard he would change aspects of himself, he was still a devil on the inside, he just was now a white one instead of a black one.
"And what does the King of this nation want with me?" Lelouch asked before a smirk formed on his face. "Have you come to plead for your surrender? Cause you won't get it. I already gave you all the choice, and you declined."
Shalio laughed. "Hardly." He said as he held a sadistic smile on his face. "Rather, I have a request. I Shalio, King of Zilkhstan and its strongest warrior, challenge you, Lelouch vi Britannia, the White Devil, and the first Innovator, to a duel!"
The challenge shocked those on the battlefield. While the Zilkhstan's knew their King was the strongest of them all, even they believed he was flying too close to the sun. Lelouch vi Britannia was the man who had challenged the way of the world and triumphed. The Gundam Meister's were intrigued by the challenge that Shalio put forth.
Lelouch had an indifferent look on his face as he stared at the Nagid Shu Mane. "If I win, what do I gain?" He decided to ask.
"Nothing. Just the guarantee that I won't try to stop you from reaching my sister. Though I can't say the same for the rest of my army." Shalio explained.
Lelouch's eyes narrowed. "And if you win, what do you get?" He asked.
Shalio smirked. "Just the satisfaction that I have defeated you." He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.
Lelouch's eyes narrowed further and his face contorted into a frown. "What is this?" Lelouch said. "What are you trying to prove here?"
"For as long as I can remember, I've had but one desire: To become the ultimate warrior!" Shalio declared. "To be the strongest warrior in the history of this world. And if I defeat you, the man who triumphed over the world order, then no one will question my status as the ultimate warrior!"
Lelouch narrowed his eyes as he gazed at the Nagid Shu Mane. From what he read about the young King, the boy had been wheelchaired bound for his whole life, not unlike Nunnally. Not only that, but he had to be the King of a nation full of warriors who don't know weakness. This whole desire to be the ultimate warrior must be a way for him to prove to all the naysayers and himself that he could be strong despite the limitations he had.
But despite that desire to become strong, Lelouch couldn't condone that kind of wish, especially if it involved reigniting the flames of war and ending with Nunnally being hurt. So because of that…
"Very well," Lelouch said as he swiped his GN Sword to the side to prepare for battle. "You have become twisted, and your twistedness is causing the world to become twisted once again. And I swear I will use this blade to cut that twistedness out of you before it infects the rest of the world!"
Shalio had a sadistic smile on his face. "Brilliant!" He said as he prepared his Gundam for the fight. "We've spent the last seven years developing this Gundam. Constructing it, testing it, perfecting it! All for the single purpose of defeating you, White Devil!"
"Then stop talking about how great it is and show me what it can do!" Lelouch challenge.
"Gladly!" Shalio accepted the challenge.
"00 Quanta!" Lelouch began.
"Nagid Shu Mane!" Shalio followed
"Lelouch Lamperouge!"
"King Shalio!"
"LAUNCHING!"
"ENGAGING!"
The two Gundams charged each other and their swords clashed against each other as they engaged in brutal combat.
"My Queen!" A servant began as she kneeled before Shamna. "We've just received word. It appears King Shalio has engaged the Gundam piloted by Lelouch vi Britannia."
"I see," Shamna said as she gazed at the thought elevator and the girl in the tank. "Then he might be able to buy us enough time. Ready the temple guards should anything come their way. Tell them to fight to their last breath should anyone approach the temple. Continue with the operation."
"At once my Queen!" The servant replied as she rose from her position and went to carry out her lady's orders.
As Shamna looked back to the thought elevator, she couldn't help but have a worried look on her face. While she did not doubt her brother's abilities and his determination to succeed, even she was wise enough not to put blind faith in him. Lelouch had challenged the whole world and emerged victoriously. And now the Zilkhstan's have captured his younger sister, and she knew how terrible the fury of an older sibling could be, after all, she was one herself.
All she could hope was that Shalio would survive long enough for her to complete her side of the mission. Then it wouldn't matter. Soon they would be able to save their nation and the fires of war will once again be ignited, in a way they never have been before.
The 00 Quanta and the Nagid Shu Mane zoomed across the battlefield at incredible speeds, almost making their forms incomprehensible to those watching, leaving a trail of light behind them as they fought. The swords of the two machines clashed, leaving multiple sparks as they flew and clashed blades.
As the two continued to trade sword blows and blaster fire, Lelouch had to admit, Shalio was a strong opponent. He was as strong as, if not stronger, than Ribbons Almark. Though that only made sense. When the King showed up on the battlefield, Lelouch could feel the Geass of Absolute Innovation from the boy, marking him as a pure wielder of said Geass. As such, he had a much stronger connection with C's World and the GN Particles than a being like Ribbons, who was created artificially to hold the Geass instead of being naturally gifted with it. And he was an exceptionally strong Innovator if his proficiency with this Gundam was anything to go by.
Although to be honest, Lelouch was surprised to find another Innovator in this nation, though maybe he really shouldn't be. After his use of Trans-Am Burst to stop the F.L.E.I.J.A. warhead to save the UFN, an unintended consequence had occurred because of that action. He spread GN Particles all over the world and in C's World. And with that action, he caused a chain reaction that caused the people of Earth to gain the Geass of Absolute Innovation, or at least, have the potential for it.
So far, only 5 percent of the world was a fully evolved Innovator, and of that 5 percent, most of them were people who had already held the power of Geass themselves or were closely related to those that did. It seems, like him when he first got the power, that they lost their original Geass and had it replaced with Absolute Innovation, even Code Bearers lost their codes and had it replaced with the new power.
So that left him to wonder how Shalio of all people could gain the power for himself. Did he have a Geass of his own? Most likely not, it must be his sister then. He had long suspected that the so-called 'Holy Priestess' of Zilkhstan had a Geass. Her 'prophecies' were too accurate, not even Lelouch could counter all that the enemy would plan in the conflicts that Zilkhstan found themselves in. Yet they were able to counter any strategy an enemy would throw at them perfectly, or they did, until about 7 years ago when Lelouch had caused the other Geass users' powers to change.
It was most likely that Shamna had the power to either see the future or send her consciousness into her younger body, that was how she was able to make such accurate predictions. And when Lelouch released all those GN Particles, he caused her Geass to change from what it was into something different, that's when they began to be less able to counter every enemy.
Lelouch was pulled out of these thoughts and predictions when he had to bring the GN Shield up to block an incoming attack from the Nagid Shu Mane's shields located on the shoulder. The shields seemed to be like Slash Harkens, equipped with even their own Blaze Luminous, turning them into an effective offensive weapon. But the 00 Quanta's GN Shield refused to break under the pressure from such an attack. But that didn't seem to be Shalio's objective.
As soon as the shield's retracted, the Nagid Shu Mane charged the 00 Quanta. The speed behind the charge was so quick that Lelouch didn't even see it time before the Zilkhstan Gundam delivered a spinning kick to the Celestial Being Gundam, knocking it back. Lelouch managed to stabilize the 00 Quanta and switched the GN Sword to rifle mode and fired at the opposing Gundam.
But Shailo had activated a hidden feature in the Nagid Shu Mane, the Megistos Omega, a less powerful version of Trans-Am. The feature amplified the Nagid Shu Mane's abilities, especially its speed. Not only was it faster, however, but it even produced an afterimage effect, which made it harder for Lelouch to accurately hit the enemy Gundam.
But that's not what made Lelouch so angry. What made him angry was the move that Shalio just did. Hitting the enemy with slash harkens to stun them, then delivering an attack up close by using superior speed. That tactic, and even the spinning kick, was identical to the fighting style of the one person who had always managed to ruin Lelouch's plans.
'How could I have been so stupid not to notice it till now?!' Lelouch chastised himself. Now that he noticed it, Shalio's fighting style had much in common with Suzaku's. It was almost as if the King was completely copying it.
"So you've finally noticed it," Shalio said, noticing the change in the Gundam's stance as he charged the 00 Quanta. The two Gundams locked swords before they broke the lock and slashed viciously at the other, parrying and dodging much of the others' attack, though both Gundams still managed to get more than a fair share of scratches on the other's hull.
As the two pilots once again locked blades, Shailo had a sadistic smile on his face as he glared at the 00 Quanta. "Yes, as you can see, all of Suzaku Kururugi's strengths are now mine!" The warrior king declared as the Nagid Shu Mane leaned in closer to the 00 Quanta's 'face'. "And I will use his strengths to defeat you once and for all! TRANS-AM!"
With that declaration, the Nagid Shu Mane's body was enveloped with the crimson glow of Trans-Am. It then overpowered the 00 Quanta and pushed the Knightmare back, following with a kick to the Gundam's stomach, knocking it down. It then fired multiple beams from its beam rifle at the 00 Quanta, keeping it pinned from moving anywhere else but down.
Lelouch tried to fire back using the GN Rifle and the beams coming from the GN Shield, but Shalio had either dodged the attacks or blocked them as he continued to fire at the Gundam. He then charged the 00 Quanta, still firing as he did so. He raised his sword high and slashed downward onto the 00 Quanta. While Lelouch was able to bring up the GN Sword to block the attack, the strength behind the blow managed to knock the GN Sword out of the 00 Quanta's hands and send it crashing to the ground.
As the dust began to clear, the 00 Quanta laid flat on its back, its head struggling to move as if it tried to look up to see the incoming Nagid Shu Mane coming from above, its sword ready to impale the cockpit of the downed Gundam.
"With this last attack," Shalio began, "I King Shalio of Zilkhstan, the land of warriors, will prove once and for all that I am the ultimate warrior!" He pushed the Nagid Shu Mane to its top speed as he managed to break the sound barrier and closed the distance between the 00 Quanta. When the two machines met, a huge shockwave exploded from the impact, causing a thick cloud of dust to cover the two machines.
When the cloud of dust cleared, it revealed the Nagid Shu Mane and the 00 Quanta, the former was still in Trans-Am and floating above the latter. Between the two, was the Nagid Shu Mane's sword, a mere inches away from the 00 Quanta's cockpit, held in place by the latter Gundam's hands.
Shalio looked in shock. He was sure he had won. He was sure that would have been his victory. So why? Why was Lelouch still alive? Why could he just not die?!
"Because you're not him." Lelouch's voice spoke in the King's mind, shocking Shalio, realizing that Lelouch had read his mind using his Geass. "I made a promise a long time ago." Lelouch continued explaining. "That no matter who tried to kill me: Britannia, the Black Knights, even the whole world, that I wouldn't allow myself to die at any of their hands. Because that right belongs to one person, and one person alone. And you," Shalio felt a foreign emotion fill his own body as he could practically see those eyes light up with the golden symbol of a bird in mid-flight. "You can copy his fighting style, steal his 'strengths'. But no matter what you do or how much you try… you are not Suzaku." Shalio finally recognized the feeling he was experiencing as his whole body shook: it was fear. "And I will not allow myself to die at the hands of a pathetic copycat like you!"
The 00 Quanta's eyes lit up with a bright glow that matched the fierce determination of its pilot. It then maneuvered the sword away from the cockpit to strike harmlessly into the ground next to the Gundam's right side. As the Nagid Shu Mane was now closer, the 00 Quanta, reel back its right fist and threw a punch toward the enemy Gundam. The punch to the 'face' of the Nagid Shu Mane knocked the Zilkhstan machine back and off the 00 Quanta.
The 00 Quanta then rose from its back and held out its left arm. The Sword Bits on the shield then launched toward the Nagid Shu Mane, firing off beams. The Nagid Shu Mane did its best to maneuver and dodge the attacks from the sword bits as well as try to destroy them with its beam rifle, but the small blades were so versatile that he put everything he had to dodge them. The blades flew in close to slash at the Nagid Shu Mane, managing to get a few cuts into the Gundam. The Gundam then revealed its two hidden arms to try and grab incoming blades, but two smaller swords jammed themselves into the arms, destroying them and causing them to explode.
The Nagid Shu Mane emerged from the cloud of smoke to see the sword bits return to their owner. The blades circled the 00 Quanta for a moment before they returned to their storage space on the GN Shield as the Gundam pulled out its GN Sword from the ground and swiped it to the side.
"You know, I have to give you some credit," Lelouch said. "You're probably the strongest opponent I've ever faced, and I've fought a lot of strong enemies." Lelouch then held a devious smirk on his face. "So I think that warrants me to stop playing around and go all out. Don't you think so too?" He asked rhetorically as the question and the tone Lelouch used sent a shiver down Shalio's spine. "TRANS-AM!"
The 00 Quanta was enveloped in red glow Trans-Am as it then shot after the Nagid Shu Mane like a rocket. Shalio snapped back into focus. No matter how strong his opponent was, or what claims he made, he would do whatever it took to destroy this enemy, for his people!
The two machines flew across the field with such speed, their attacks sending out small shockwaves through the sky as if they were shaking the heavens. Both machines showed no signs of slowing down or stopping, but the Nagid Shu Mane seemed to be losing ground, as evident when the 00 Quanta sliced apart its beam rifle, then followed with destroying its two shields that acted as slash harkens.
'Nagid Shu Mane,' Shalio pleaded in his mind. 'You can keep up can you, this body of mine?' But even as he said that he could feel the Gundam begin to fail him. And soon enough, the Trans-am for the Gundam deactivated, already having reached its limit.
"It seems you've used up your Trans-Am." Lelouch taunted. "That was a grave mistake because Trans-Am functions as a double-edged sword. Because after the intense power you wield for a brief moment, you're pretty much left with nothing." The 00 Quanta then delivered high-speed attacks that the Nagid Shu Mane was powerless to defend against.
"Time to end this!" Lelouch said as he activated the quantum system of the 00 Quanta. A few pieces of armor broke off as the Gundam was enveloped with a bright green glow instead of crimson red, the GN Shield moving from the left arm toward the Gundam's back. The sword bits formed a ring in front of the Gundam creating a portal that the 00 Quanta entered and disappeared along with the sword bits.
Shalio looked in shock at the recent action of the 00 Quanta. Was this the so-called quantization effect he heard rumors about? It seemed different from what he had heard from those rumors. But if he did indeed quantinized, where did he go?
He gasped as he felt a strange sensation as his Geass activated. He turned to where he felt the sensation was coming from and looked to see the sword bits emerge behind him, forming that same ring the 00 Quanta disappeared in. and from that same ring, the 00 Quanta emerged, its sword raised high in both hands. Before Shalio could even think or comprehend anything else, the 00 Quanta brought the blade down on the Nagid Shu Mane.
Nothing happened for a small moment. Then, the Nagid Shu Mane split in two and erupted in a brilliant explosion. Before Shalio saw the blinding white light, tears spilled down his face as he cried out to his sister through his Geass. "Sister… please tell me… what should I do?" He got no response as the Gundam exploded.
The whole battlefield looked in shock. The Zilkhstan's held looks of absolute disbelief on their faces. Their King, their strongest warrior, lost! The Gundam Meisters just held looks of awe, and a couple of them even smirked in excitement.
"Gundam Meisters!" Lelouch called to his fellow pilots. "Handle the stragglers. If they don't surrender, keep fighting until they do." And with that, the 00 Quanta flew over the Zilkhstan army, making a beeline for the temple.
"You heard the man!" Lyle said as he drew one of Cheridum's guns. "Let's get it on!" And with that, the five Gundams charged the Zilkhstan army!
"My Queen!" A handmaiden called as she bowed before Shamna before looking at her with a tearful expression. "The King… your brother Shalio… He is-"
"Dead." Shamna finished. The Handmaiden looked in surprise, more so about how casually she could say such a thing about her brother. But upon closer observation, one could see that she was barely holding herself together. But she was pushing through it. "Tell the guards to do whatever they can to stall the Gundam."
"Stall?"
"If Shalio couldn't beat him, then the guards certainly won't be able to. But they can still slow him down." Shamna explained before she turned to the pair of scientists. "How long do we need?"
"We should be done any minute now, Priestess." The lead scientists said.
"Good," Shamna said as she moved to get ready, but stopped as she looked back at them. "And do me a quick favor, line the wall with explosives."
As Lelouch closed in on the Temple, he noticed how he made it there without much resistance, which wasn't all that surprising, considering the psychological impact he had on the Zilkhstan army after he killed Shalio, their strongest warrior and King. The only ones he most likely had to worry about now were…
A blast from the ground pulled him out of his thoughts as he swiftly dodged the attack. He looked to see a group of about seven Knightmares, all equipped with pseudo-GN Drives, standing before the entrance to the Temple. This must be Shamna's elite guard.
"You there! Invader!" The lead unit, a Jarja Vakka piloted by the guard captain Shesthaal Forgnar, spoke out as it pointed its sword at the Gundam. "What business do you have here that you would slaughter our honorable men and woman, murder our righteous King, and seek to slay our Holy Priestess?!"
Lelouch didn't provide them with an immediate answer. Rather, he broke out in a maddening laugh that only seemed to enrage the guard. "Honorable?! R-Righteous?! And h-holy?!" Lelouch laughed even harder as he said them out loud. "You have got to be kidding me with those descriptions! You kidnapped a disabled girl and used her as a means to start a war so you could make a profit! How in the world do you classify that as honorable, righteous, or holy?!"
"You could never understand?!" Shesthaal cried out. "Our nation is dying! Without war, we cannot provide for ourselves and our families! Without war, what other purpose do we serve?!"
"None." Lelouch's cold answer shocked those gathered. "If you can't be bothered to try and find some reason to live besides war, then you don't deserve to live. As such," The 00 Quanta then reached across its waist with its right hand and drew its GN Sword. "I will cut you down for trying to start the flames of war."
Shesthaal growled as he glared at the Gundam. "However," Lelouch's voice stopped him, as he noticed the 00 Quanta drop his blade slightly. "For the sake of my sister, I will be merciful. Since she doesn't like killing, if you tell me where she is, then I will spare your lives. So tell me, where is she?"
The other guardsmen stood in silence as they looked to their leader to see what he would do. Shesthaal thought about it for a long moment. "What of the Holy Priestess?" He asked. "Will you offer the same mercy to her as you have for us?"
"Unfortunately…" The 00 Quanta tightened its grip on its GN Sword, Lelouch sensing the danger that was coming. "She already sealed her fate when she took my sister. There is no going back from that and no forgiveness I can give to the likes of someone who would stoop as low as using my sister as a tool."
"Then we will have to decline your offer," Shesthaal said as he readied himself by drawing his sword, the other units behind him followed. "We swore an oath to the Holy Priestess to lay down our lives in her defense. And if you have any intention to harm her, then you will have to contend with us first!"
Lelouch was silent for a long moment. "Very well." He said as he readied himself. "Just remember, I gave you a choice, and you declined." And with that, he charged the guards!
"Queen Shamna! It's ready!" The head scientists said. Shamna smirked as she looked at the thought elevator.
"Excellent." She then looked over to the guards that were currently bringing an unconscious Nunnally over to her. "Get that girl ready! We need to begin as soon as-" She didn't even get to finish as suddenly the ceiling in the chamber caved in.
Many violent screams were suddenly cut silent. Amazingly, the area Shamna and Nunnally were standing was untouched by the sudden rockfall along with the GN Drives that were with them. Though that really shouldn't be all that surprising, considering who it was that caused the cave-in.
In the dust cloud was a pair of glowing white eyes. As the cloud cleared some more, a familiar metallic titan stood over the two female rulers, holding its GN Rifle pointed toward them.
"Put my sister down, and step away from her, now," Lelouch warned.
"I see that you made short work of my guard," Shamna said, coming across as indifferent to the situation. Though she was frowning on the inside, she had expected her elite guard would have been able to hold him off at least until she got into C's World. But it seems even she underestimated the abilities of the original Gundam Meister.
"I gave them the choice to be spared if they led me to you. They refused." Lelouch's eyes then narrowed. "You, however, won't be given such a choice."
"Then tell me: Why should I release the only shield I have protecting me from your wrath?" Shamna smirked as she reached within her dress to pull something out.
"Because if you release her right now, I'll make it as quick and painless as I possibly could for someone like you. If not, then you're asking for a gruesome death." Lelouch threatened.
Shamna could tell Lelouch was serious in his threats, after all, she was an older sibling herself. So she knew when an older sibling made a threat to someone hurting their younger sibling, they meant to follow through.
However, Shamna couldn't let that happen. "I'm afraid I'll have to go with option three." She then pulled out what was in her dress, a remote detonator. She then primed it, and the thought elevator behind her lit up with small red lights scattered all around it.
Lelouch's eyes widened when he realized what Shamna was planning as her Geass activated and the thought elevator lit up in a blinding white light. "NO!" He cried as he reached his free hand out to try and grab the pair. But it was too late, the two, along with the three GN Drives, had already disappeared into C's world, but not before Shamna pressed the button on the detonator switch before she vanished.
The detonators began to beep rapidly before they exploded!
BOOM
The power of the blast and the shockwave following was enough to send the Gundam flying back. Lelouch felt the back of his head impact with something before everything went black.
"Lelouch! Can you hear me! Lelouch come in! Answer me!" A familiar voice came through the 00 Quanta's comms as Lelouch began to wake up. He didn't know how long he was out for. He remembers Shamna was holding Nunnally captive, they then disappeared in the thought elevator, then the thought elevator blew up.
He then shook his head a few times, trying to get the ringing out of his ears before he answered the comm allowing a screen to pop up showing the concerned redhead. "Kallen… Kallen… I'm here… I'm okay honey…." He managed to get out as he took several deep breaths.
He heard a sigh of relief that seemed to have a sense of annoyance mixed in. "You know I hate it when you call me that, you big idiot." Kallen's voice came through, having a sense of playfulness in her face before becoming serious. "Are you okay? What happened? Did you manage to get Nunnally?"
Lelouch shook his head, both to indicate 'no' and to get more of the ringing out of his ears. "No. Shamna took her and managed to use a thought elevator to teleport into C's World before blowing the thought elevator up. She also had a pair of GN Drives with her, and they seemed like the ones we use instead of the pseudo ones."
"How'd they manage to create a pair of original Aeolia Schenberg GN Drives?" Ian asked as he showed up on a separate screen.
"Well, they had seven years to develop and create them." Lelouch pointed out before he rose the Gundam out of the rubble it found itself under. "But we can worry about that later. I'm going after them!"
"How are you gonna do that?" Nina asked as she came up behind Ian. "The thought elevator was destroyed, and that was the last one in existence. We made sure to destroy any of them we could find, so we can't use another one to get to C's World. And even if your Geass can transport you to C's world, it's not you that's there, just your consciousness."
"I know, but I have an idea," Lelouch said as he then readied the Gundam. "If I activate my Geass and set it to transport me to C's World, while traveling through the teleportation ring of the 00 Quanta, near the remains of a thought elevator, then I should be able to transport both myself and the Quanta to C's World."
There was silence from the other parties for a few seconds before Ian erupted. "ARE YOU CRAZY!?" He cried out, his eyes looking like they were gonna pop out of their sockets. "The Quantum Teleportation System was meant to transport you from one side of the world to the other, not travel to some mysterious plane of existence! You could end up trapped in the teleportation portal, or even destroy yourself!"
"That's a risk I'm willing to take," Lelouch said as he continued preparing the Gundam for his plan. "I can't just abandon Nunnally, not again. And with Shamna in possession of those GN Drives, I don't even want to think about what she could be capable of now that she's in C's World."
"Are you sure about this?" Kallen's voice stopped Lelouch from continuing with preparation. He looked up at her screen to see nothing but concern and love, all directed at him. He would be forever grateful he had someone like her in his life. But despite being grateful for her, he couldn't stop his mission. So he nodded.
Tears began to streak down her face, but she had a loving smile on her face as she looked at him. "Very well," Kallen said, shocking the others. "Just come back. Promise me you'll come back."
Lelouch nodded. "I promise." He then looked behind her to see little Suzaku playing with a toy and smiled. "After all, I have a reason to keep living now."
He then closed down the communication and turned toward the thought elevator. He then ejected the sword bits from the GN Shield and they flew, forming a ring at the spot where the thought elevator once was, forming a portal. He took a deep breath, activating his Geass, the golden bird symbol shining in his eyes before exhaling. "Well…. Here we go." He said as he flew through the portal, the sword bits flowing after him as it then closed.
When he emerged, he found himself in the familiar endless sky of C's world, the realm not having changed much in the past seven years. "Huh, that worked. I'm surprised." Lelouch admitted to himself as his eyes gazed up at the collective unconsciousness, the 'god' of C's World.
There, with three Aeolia Schenberg GN Drives surrounding her in a triangle was Shamna. Nunnally was with her as well, still unconscious and held in some sort of bond as she was held helpless before the Queen.
"Just a little more," Shamna said out loud to herself as she gazed up at the massive Jupiter-like sphere. "Soon all will be made right once again."
"SHAMNA!" A loud voice took her away from the celestial body and turned to see the 00 Quanta floating below her.
"Well, this is a surprise," Shamna admitted as she glared at the Gundam. "I expected you would eventually be able to come here, despite all the thought elevators being destroyed. But I didn't believe you would arrive here so soon. Your stubbornness is something else." She then smirked. "But you're still too late. Nothing will stop me now!"
"Why are you even doing this?" Lelouch asked. "What reason do you have for kidnapping Nunnally, creating three Aeolia Schenberg GN Drives, and coming to C's world with both of them? What's the point of all this?!"
"You truly wish to know my reasons?" Shamna asked. The Gundam nodded. "Very well, I will tell you," Shamna said before answering. "I seek to resurrect my Kingdom!"
"What? What do you mean by that?!" Lelouch asked, not pleased with such a vague answer.
"I mean just what I said, I want to restore my Kingdom to its former glory," Shamna repeated before explaining further. "After your battle with your brother Schneizel el Britannia and that Ribbons Almark seven years ago, the world began to enter an era of peace unlike any it had known before. No wars, no skirmishes, no terrorist attacks, no acts of violence that would warrant the need for soldiers. While many nations prospered and healed over that time, our nation suffered. Our warriors were the only way a country like us with no valuable resources could ever seek to make a profit and grow our economy. But when the world entered this era of peace, we lost everything! We were struggling to get by just for one day, the children of our nation were starving. People were living in such great poverty! Your peace was destroying us!"
"So why kidnap Nunnally?!" Lelouch demanded to know. "By kidnapping her, you wage a war yourself, you won't be able to sell any of your soldiers to another side because it will only be a war between you and Britannia. You'd still collapse!"
"I didn't kidnap her to start a war between us and Britannia, I kidnapped her to start a war between the whole world." Shamna corrected as she smirked. "Her brother is the very first Innovator, so she must have impressive power, maybe enough to match your own. With her and these three GN Drives aiding me, I'll be able to influence the collective unconsciousness of humanity to seek conflict with one another. Thereby stoking the fans of wart once again, only on a greater scale than ever before seen. The nations of the world will need strong soldiers to fight in their armies, so naturally, they'll turn to the nation that produces the best warriors. Soon my Kingdom will rise again!"
"You're insane!" Lelouch cried out. "If you do that, humanity will lead itself to extinction! You'll kill off the human race if you do this!"
"I don't care!" Shamna shouted back. "I don't care about the world or humanity! I won't let my brother's sacrifice be in vain! Nor the sacrifices of any of my soldiers or people!"
Lelouch glared at the Priestess. In a way, he saw a lot of himself in her. She was someone who would achieve their goals, no matter who or what stayed in her way. She was willing to keep pushing forward, so the lives lost in her wake would not be in vain, much like he did. But despite those similarities, Lelouch couldn't let her continue down this path of madness, not if it meant destroying the whole world.
"Then you truly leave me no choice," Lelouch said as the 00 Quanta drew its GN Sword and swiped it to the side. "You've become twisted. And that twistedness is threatening to consume the whole world in the flames of war." He then pointed the sword at Shamna. "And I will use this blade to cut that twistedness out of you!"
"Well said," Shamna said with a smirk. "But how will you stop me? I hold the power of three Aeolia Schenberg GN Drives, along with the power of two Innovators, one of which happens to be your sister. Not only that, but our Kingdom has remained strong for thousands of years. No one, not even Britannia, could conquer us! What makes you think you have a chance?!"
"Cause I have something that none of those previous warriors had," Lelouch told her.
"Oh, and what's that?" Shamna asked mockingly.
Lelouch held a devious smirk on his face as he looked at her. "A Gundam." He answered. And with that, he charged towards Shamna and Nunnally at full speed, ready to impale the former with his blade.
However, he was kept from his kill when something hit the 00 Quanta, knocking it off course. Lelouch took a moment to stabilize the Gundam before he turned to the culprit and gasped.
Surrounding Shamna and Nunnally defensively and floating all around C's World was a long snake-like line of a strange metallic substance. It looked like it was sort of living metal that could mold itself into any structure it saw fit, and it even almost looked alien.
Shamna smirked as the Geass in her eyes shone brightly. "Did you believe I would be helpless here?" She asked rhetorically, Lelouch growled at the tone she used. "In the short time I was here before you arrived, I was able to learn a few neat tricks. Do you want to see them?" Again, she asked rhetorically in that infuriating tone. "They're perfect for exterminating vermin like you."
And then, the Extraterrestrial-like Living-metal Shape-shifting substance struck!
"Still nothing?" Kallen asked as she and Suzaku stood on the bridge of the Ptolemy.
"No," Sumeragi answered her. "We still haven't found any trace of the 00 Quanta, or of Lelouch since he went dark." The tactical forecaster then paid a concerned glance toward Kallen. "Are you sure you made the right decision? Sending him in there?"
Kallen held a contemplative look on her face as she looked down. In all honesty, she wasn't sure of her decision. While she had faith in Lelouch and knew he's beaten impossible odds before, she knew he wasn't the god-like being she once admired him to be when he was Zero. He was a human, albeit a strong and incredible human that was capable of changing the world, yet still human. But she had to have faith, because if she didn't, then who would.
She felt a small tug on her leg and looked down at the small child that she and Lelouch created together. "Don't worry mama! Daddy will win against the bad guys! He'll come home, and with Aunt Nunnally!" Suzaku said with absolute confidence as he held the brightest smile, one that could even rival Nunnally's in terms of warmth and love.
Kallen couldn't help but return that bright smile with her own. That's right. Even if she had begun to doubt him, which would never happen, this little angel will always have faith in his father.
Suddenly, Kallen collapsed to the ground as she suddenly felt an intense pressure push on her mind. Cries of concern and worry fell on deaf ears as Kallen felt her Geass activate instinctively, the golden symbol shining brightly in her eyes.
"Are you okay mama?!" Suzaku's voice finally reached her ears as he tried to cheer her up. It took a moment, but Kallen managed to stand on her own two feet and give a strained smile to reassure Suzaku.
"I'm okay. Mama's okay." Kallen assured her son.
"What happened?" Sumeragi asked.
"I-I don't know…" Kallen said, lost as to what the meaning behind that pressure was. "I felt such intense hatred being spread all over the world, only for a brief moment before it lessened. I still feel the hate, but it's not as strong as it was a moment ago."
"Do you think it's for you? There are a lot of people who'd want you dead." Lasse suggested.
Kallen shook her head. "No, it wasn't directed at me. Rather the hatred was directed at… everyone in the world."
"Now that you mention it," Sumeragi spoke up, "When you collapsed, I also felt a large amount of hatred swell up inside of me, though I don't know where it came from. I just felt such an intense desire to go and fight every single person I could find. I still feel that now, just not as intense as before."
"Me too," Feldt spoke up.
"Me three!" Mileina said.
"Same." Lasse agreed.
Kallen looked down at her hand with a contemplative look on her face as she then gazed out the bridge toward the ruined temple where Lelouch had supposedly vanished into C's World. She brought the hand to her chest over her heart and clenched it hard in worry. Her free hand was occupied by Suzaku, who was squeezing her hand to try and reassure her it would be alright.
'Lelouch… what's going on?'
The Extraterrestrial-like Living-metal Shape-shifters (or the ELS as Lelouch had decided to call them) continued to pursue the 00 Quanta throughout the endless sky of C's World. Lelouch fired back with his GN Rifle and the beam gun mounted on the GN Shield, destroying much of the metal, though it just kept coming.
Lelouch couldn't help but recall a certain Japanese anime he saw when he was younger. It involved some redhead idiot magician that was as naive as Suzaku in terms of heroism. The magician was in battle with some sort of spirit that was supposedly a god of war, with an endless supply of weapons, and the only way the magician stood a chance was by creating an alternate dimension field with endless weapons to match it.
Lelouch couldn't help but draw some similarities between his situation and that of the anime character. Though there were some key differences. For one thing, he didn't have an endless field of swords, he only has seven. And he wasn't as naive as that hero either. But he had to make due, this wasn't an anime, this was real life.
As the ELS came charging at him, Lelouch dodged the strike and slashed downward with his GN Sword, cutting off the living metals 'head', which didn't stop it as it just resumed attacking. It then again came charging at him. The 00 Quanta raised its sword high and brought it down on the ELS, cutting it in half…. Only to have it reform a moment later and hit the 00 Quanta in the blindspot, knocking it back.
Lelouch then shifted his attention toward Shamna and fired off beams from his Gundam's rifle and shield at her and the three GN Drives she had. However, like the last time he tried, the ELS formed a protective barrier around Shamna and the GN Drives.
Lelouch gritted his teeth, he was getting nowhere! At most, Lelouch was only stalling Shamna from completely influencing the human race into going to war with one another by splitting her attention between him and the world. But that wasn't going to stop her, if he was gonna do that, he would need to either kill Shamna or destroy one of the GN Drives.
He then activated Trans-Am and formed the GN Buster Rifle with his Sword Bits. He charged the powerful weapon and fired a massive beam at Shamna and the GN Drives. And just like before, the ELS had come and formed a shield to protect the Queen. Which is exactly what Lelouch wanted.
The ELS were eventually overwhelmed by the powerful beam and exploded out all over C's World, leaving Shamna and the GN Drives wide open. Lelouch wasted no time and charged full speed towards the Queen, readying his sword to cut Shamna down. He brought his GN Sword up high….
Only to have an ELS wrap around the right arm and pull it back, keeping him from striking her with the sword. He raised the Gundam's left fist in an attempt to strike her, but another ELS came and wrapped around that arm, pulling it back, keeping the Gundam trapped. Lelouch glared through the Gundam's cameras at Shamna, who stood only a few inches away from kissing the head of the 00 Quanta.
"Too slow." She mocked with a matching smile. And with a flick of her wrist, the 00 Quanta was pulled viciously backward. More ELS came and began to wrap itself around the Gundam, trapping it, like a spider would wrap its prey in webbing. Lelouch tried to launch the Sword Bits, but they were trapped within their storage unit on the shield. The ELS then proceeded to crush the Gundam, squeezing it with an intense level of pressure.
Shamna held a smirk on her face as she held a hand outward, manipulating the ELS to continue to add pressure to the Gundam as she closed her hand into a fist. "Now just sit there like a good audience member, and bear witness to the resurrection of the Kingdom of Zilkhstan!" Shamna proclaimed as she turned her full attention toward the celestial body that resembled Jupiter, her Geass glowing even brighter.
All over the world, the hatred amplifier she sent out earlier had returned in intensity. It was so intense that people began to take action. They went to their gun safes located in their houses and began to arm their firearms.
Military leaders put out a code red alert that made their soldiers arm up and prepare their weapons for war. They even readied themselves to launch their warheads at the nearest nation they viewed as an 'enemy'.
"Yes… YES!" Shamna cheered as she felt the hatred and the actions of the people of the world began to take place. "Soon that world will be consumed in war once again. And my Kingdom will be returned to its former glory!"
"No…" Shamna stopped her mad rant when she heard the quiet meek voice speak up. She turned to the source and saw Nunnally begin to stir awake.
"I'm sorry? What did you just say?" Shamna asked as she approached the Empress.
"I won't let you do this." Nunnally declared her voice rising in power as she opened her eyes to reveal the golden symbol of the Geass of Absolute Innovation. "I won't let you turn the world into a violent place, not again!"
And with that, Nunnally used the powers of the GN Particles from the three GN Drives Shamna had with her and began to work her own influence on the Collective unconsciousness.
"What are you doing?!" Shamna cried in disbelief as she felt it through her Geass.
The hatred the people suddenly felt was replaced by a powerful wave of compassion and love for each other. So much that when they saw the weapons they had in hand, they quickly threw them down and embraced each other.
Even soldiers came off standby and embraced one another, forgetting any sort of hateful disdain or anger they held with each other.
"You can't do this! You just can't!" Shamna cried as she tried to get ahold of the collective unconsciousness again. Nunnally was a strong Innovator, but she was inexperienced in using her abilities, while Shamna had seven years to practice and push the boundaries of what she could do with her powers. "Do you believe a person like you who can't even stand on her own two feet can stop the likes of me!?"
"I can't. I know I can't stop you." Nunnally admitted with a level of shame in her voice, which made Shamna feel a sick level of satisfaction. But she then quickly replaced that look of shame with a mischievous smirk. "But I know big brother can!"
At that moment, Shamna froze in realization. She had put her full concentration on overcoming Nunnally's influence that she forgot about the real threat. She turned back just in time to see the Gundam break free from the living metallic bounds.
"Finish it big brother!" Nunnally cheered.
"With pleasure Nunnally!" Lelouch said with a smirk as he flexed his hands on the Gundam's controls. "Time to show her what we're truly capable of!" He then acted quickly before getting overwhelmed by the ELS again and activated the 00 Quanta's most powerful system. His eyes flashed gold with the symbol of Geass as a red scanner movie over them. "Activating Quantum Burst!"
The shield on the 00 Quanta's left shoulder moved to rest on the back of the Gundam, almost like a backpack, the Sword Bits launched from the shield after it moved into position. The Gundam's eyes and chest piece began to shine as it was enveloped with the crimson glow of Trans-Am, which then immediately began to glow bright green as most of the armored pieces on the arms and legs began to break off.
The Sword Bits then formed a ring below the Gundam, their blades pointing upward in a diagonal angle. The GN Particle output then began to speed up to a production rate never before seen by any other Gundam or machine equipped with them. Cylinders then began to emerge from the 00 Quanta's arms and legs, and the chest piece, releasing massive amounts of GN Particles.
Nothing ever seemed to shine brighter to either woman as they gazed at the Gundam before them. Nunnally smiled with joy and hope while Shamna looked with disbelief and fear. She quickly pushed aside those emotions and regained control over the ELS and sent them to the Gundam.
Suddenly, the 00 Quanta released a massive wave of GN Particles all over C's World, filling the entire plane with them. The massive wave of particles hit the ELS and they suddenly went out of control and began to break apart. Even the GN Drives Shamna brought with her failed working and even exploded, to her shock and horror.
"I figured out how you control them," Lelouch revealed. "You use your Geass along with the GN Particles from those three drives to extend your will onto them, allowing you complete control over them. But that level of control requires an intense level of concentration, and when Nunnally fought back against your influence on the collective unconsciousness, that broke your concentration. Now that I know how you work, I'm able to counter your power. By sending out a massive wave of GN Particles with my consciousness and Geass mixed in them, it allows me to block your control over them." He then held a devious smirk on his face. "Now that you don't have your worker bees anymore, that leaves you open for a direct attack!"
He then charged at her at full speed. Shamna instinctively tried to bring up the ELS for protection, but as Lelouch said, he was blocking her control with his brainwaves. So she made a last-ditch plan and went to grab Nunnally to use as a human shield. However, to Shamna and Lelouch's surprise, Nunnally delivers a mean right hook to the latter's face, knocking her back and away from grabbing her.
Shamna was so shocked that a pacifist girl like her would fight back that she failed to notice the Gundam closing in. She turned to face it just in time to be met with the blade impaling her.
Shamna's eyes went wide in disbelief as she felt the life quickly leave her; her body also began to disappear, similar to how Charles and Marianne did. But before she disappeared completely, she uttered her final words.
"I'm sorry… Shalio… I couldn't… make you proud…" She muttered as a single tear trailed down her face.
And then, she was gone.
"We're getting multiple signals of surrender from the Zilkhstan army, it seems they've lost the will to continue fighting," Feldt reported as she looked at the tactical display.
"I guess when they got word that their holy temple was destroyed along with their queen, they lost the will to keep fighting." Lasse theorized.
"That may be it." Sumeragi agreed as she turned back to Mielina. "Any word from the 00 Quanta or Lelouch."
Mielina regrettably shook her head. "No." She said, small tears forming in her eyes, fearing the worst. "I still haven't picked up a signal since he disappeared."
"It's okay." Sumeragi looked toward Kallen, who had a confident smile on her face. "Lelouch is okay. And so is Nunnally. I'm sure of it. I just know it."
"Still no word from Zilkhstan or Celestial Beings about Nunnally," Tohdoh asked as he and the other command structure stood in the main conference room on Hori Island.
"No," Kaguya said as she shook her head. "We haven't heard any word from either since the battle began. We've heard reports that the King of Zilkhstan was KIA fighting Lelouch and that he and the Queen are both MIA, but we don't have any way to confirm those reports."
"Dang it!" Cornelia slammed her hands down on the conference table. She hated this. She hated how useless she was at the moment. She couldn't help either Nunnally or Lelouch. The others also looked down in depression as they also felt powerless about the situation.
The door to the conference room opened as an officer came in. "Excuse me Chairwoman, but we have a strange energy signal coming from above Hori Island." He reported. Kaguya took a breath to steady herself before she nodded for him to show the footage.
The screen above them switches on to reveal a set of swords that appeared out of nowhere that formed a ring of swirling GN Particles. Then a familiar-looking machine appeared from the portal as it then closed and the sword bits broke their formation and returned to the backpack that was once the 00 Quanta's shield.
The officials all stood up in surprise before they began to rush out of the room to meet their visitor.
"We on now? Good!" Milly said as she cleared her throat before speaking. "This is Milly Ashford reporting live from Hori Island, the artificial man-made island which serves as headquarters for the UFN. We've just witnessed a Gundam appear out of nowhere and is now descending to the island." She then looked upward and the camera followed her gaze. They saw the Gundam, leaving behind a trail of GN Particles as it came down to the UFN's main building.
"This is the first time we've laid eyes on a Gundam in seven years," Milly continued reporting as she made her way to the building the Gundam was descending to. "Does this reappearance have anything to do with the kidnapped Empress of Britannia, Nunnally vi Britannia? Stay tuned and we'll find out."
The Gundam continued descending until it landed in front of the UFN's main headquarter building. The main council had already arrived on the balcony when the Gundam landed. It held a hand out in front of its cockpit for its pilot to step out on and land on the balcony. And in his arms, was the rescued Empress herself, Nunnally vi Britannia.
Kaguya and Cornelia let out a sigh of relief at seeing Nunnally safe and sound. Tohdoh gave a small smile and a nod of gratitude. The pilot, his helmet still on, gently set Nunnally down in a wheelchair that Sayoko, who was stationed on the Island after Nunnally was kidnapped, brought with her. He turned to the ninja maid and nodded, which she returned with a smile and nod of her own.
"It's Empress Nunnally!" Milly cried as she and her cameraman came up to the balcony, the man filming. "The Gundam pilot has rescued Empress Nunnally vi Britannia and brought her safely back to the UFN!" She then pushed her way through the crowd of people and up to the Gundam pilot and held a microphone out to his helmet. "Care to comment mister Gundam pilot? Do you have a statement you would like to give?"
"A statement?" The pilot said as he turned to face the microphone and then the camera. "Yeah, I have a statement I'd like to give."
He then unlocked the straps on his helmet and pulled it off to reveal his face. "My name is Lelouch Lamperouge, pilot of the 00 Quanta Gundam, and leader of Celestial Beings. Our goal is the eradication of war!"
"The Kingdom of Zilkhstan, also known as the land of warriors, who had even managed to push back the nation of Britannia had attempted to spark the fires of war once again by kidnapping Empress Nunnally vi Britannia. As such, they have been punished for their actions, the King and Queen of that nation losing their lives trying to start a war."
Ohgi gave a small smirk as he watched Lelouch on the TV in his office. Yeah, he expected this outcome. You don't mess with that man's little sister if you want to live to old age.
"And it is not just them who we fight. Anyone out there who seeks to promote war, we will find you and we will eliminate you. No matter who you may be or what reason you have for starting such destruction."
Former Peace Mark member Orpheus Zevon sat in a bar as he watched the broadcast. After the Battle of Mt. Fuji, Peace Mark disbanded, having no real reason to fight now that Britannia had changed into a better country. They also had to give the tech they borrowed from Celestial Beings back, including the GN Drive they used for the Gouka Byakuen. But Orpheus was fine with all that. He was glad to be done with all the fighting. His sister went back into military service after the battle, but the two parted on much better terms than they usually did.
"We may be called hypocrites and monsters for our actions, but that's fine. We do this so no one else has to. We do this for the future of the world. We do this so that one day war can be eradicated from this planet! So that we can live in a world where people communicate not through an exchange of arms but through an exchange of open dialogue and understanding."
Most of the members of Celestial Beings smirked with excitement as they watched the broadcast. Though some (Setsuna and Tiera) preferred to look stoic as they watched the broadcast. They were back in action.
Kallen lifted her son in her arms and together they watched the broadcast is produced by the man they both looked up to and loved, in different ways though.
"I will say it a final time." Lelouch began to conclude. "We are Celestial Beings, we fight for the future and our goal is the total eradication of war. If anyone seeks to start conflict for any reason, whether it be for selfish or selfless purposes, we will be there. And we will eliminate you."
Those of the UFN looked at them in awe. Even Tohdoh and Cornelia were amazed by Lelouch's words, even though they've heard them many times before.
"Remember this: we are the blade that will cut out the twistedness of this world. We are the ones who will fight for those who can't." He then stared dead at the center of the camera, a fierce determination in his eyes.
"We are… Gundam!"
A/N: And that concludes Code Gundam: Meister of the Rebellion! I hope you all enjoyed this story, at least by about as much as I've enjoyed writing it!
I know I introduced some new characters that I didn't show in the previous chapters, but I hope you guys won't give me too much grief for that if any at all.
I hope you all were satisfied with how I introduced the Gundam Meisters and the current year Celestial Beings. I thought this would be a good way to do it, having their first big mission be to rescue their boss' little sister. Hope I got the personality of all the Gundam Meisters right, or at least acceptable.
I'm sorry though how the battle between Lelouch and Shalio turned out if any of you found it disappointing. We just didn't see much one-on-one action with the 00 Quanta in the anime, except in that Gundam Build Divers Battlelog, so I didn't have much to work with in terms of moves and attacks. And I wasn't able to gather so much on the Nagid Shu Mane from what I read on the wiki. So I did the best I could with what the people at Sunrise gave me. I hope your imaginations let you visualize an awesome battle.
I also included the ELS, kinda. They aren't the alien ELS though, it's more of something Shamna was able to create and control within C's World using fragments from the Sword of Akasha. I originally had planned for a mind battle between Lelouch and Shamna, the two fighting with their Geass, trying to overcome the other, but I didn't know how to write a fight like that, so I settled with something like this, I'm better with physical fighting than I'm with mental fighting. I hope it was satisfying for you readers.
And now that I've finished with this story, it's time to work on my next story, and I promise you, it will be my biggest piece of work yet.
I'm gonna begin writing my Persona 5 Batman Beyond Crossover, the Dark Knights of Rebellion (If you guys have better title ideas, please let me know in the reviews or PM). Now this story is gonna be a lot different than what I'm used to writing, I promise you that.
For example, I usually write stories with under 20 chapters, I think the highest amount I've written is 15 chapters. This one, I'm planning for it to be over 40 chapters, cause I'm including content from Strikers and I'm planning on doing chapters that focus on Ren/Batman's relationship with the confidants, not just his fellow vigilantes and I'm doing my adaptations of Batman Beyond Episodes. I'm not gonna do a separate story that focuses on the confidants of this story, I don't like doing that. So I'm gonna have it all be in one. But even without the confidants, this story may reach over 20 chapters. This will be the biggest writing project I've ever worked on.
Another thing that's gonna be challenging for me, is that I'm gonna be working with multiple main characters. One of my biggest struggles as a writer is balancing characters out, that's why I usually write shorter stories, it allows me to focus on one character without having to spend much time on others. I'll mainly be focusing on Ren and his adventures and perspective as the new Batman, but I also want to explore the other members of the new Batfamily. I may have confidant chapters that explore his relationship with the others, but I want to do more than that. But that will be a challenge, so if I mess up some characters, point it out to me, and help me fix it.
Also, and please don't be mad at me, I have not even played Persona 5, either the original, Royal, or Strikers, not even the other Persona games. I've seen game walkthroughs, confidant walkthroughs, I know the story, I've seen the anime (May follow that story structure in terms of character introductions), but I've never actually played the game itself with my own two hands. But I'm still giving it my best shot, so bear with me.
But I do have some awesome ideas and storylines planned out, I even have a few ideas of who the villains of Persona 5 can become. I've worked out ideas with other writers such as patrickthenobleman, they're a great author with awesome stories, you should check them out. I couldn't have come as far as I have in developing the story without him. But I also have to give credit to other authors who have helped me, such as Dragon King156. I welcome any other ideas you all may have to help me make this story great.
But there is a big problem I'm facing before I can start writing this story. And that, my dear ladies and gentlemen, is the location of the story. I have no idea whether I should have this story set in Gotham or Tokyo?
Mainly with how different the school systems are between Japan and America, it changes some storyline plots depending on where I set the story. Because Japan lets students go on summer break in the middle of the school year, and they start and end at different times compared to America, at least, that's what I gathered from Japanese anime and video games. It would be easier to follow the storyline of Persona 5 if I follow the school pattern they do in the story.
And with Gotham, that place is rich with Batman mythos. It's like I can't have Batman without that city. I don't know how to fully explain the problem. Like the Jokerz, I need them in my story, and it wouldn't make sense for them to be in Japan if Batman was never active in Japan.
But can you guys help me out? Let me know in the reviews and PMs where you would prefer the story to take place, Gotham or Tokyo, and give me one reason why if you can.
I've already done an outline, but I've only gotten to where the initial team of four is formed (Ren, Morgana, Ryuji, and Ann). I haven't gotten farther from that, mainly because I've been focused on finishing this story.
I hope you guys can help me come up with awesome ideas to help me. Please let me know if you have any. Here is the premise for the story, I also have it written on my profile page:
Ren Amamiya, a young man, is sent to the city of (Neo-Gotham/Neo-Tokyo) for probation, after being falsely accused of assault. His new classmates and teachers hate and fear him, his guardian is indifferent towards him, the city he now lives in is filthy with corruption, and he's powerless to change all of it. But fate takes an interesting turn for Ren when he has a chance encounter with an elderly Bruce Wayne. Stumbling upon the billionaire's secret life, Ren, under the guidance of Bruce, begins his own crusade for justice. But can he live up to the legacy of the Bat? Or will the demons of Batman's past threaten to consume the new Batman's future? (RenxMakoto pairing)
Update: I posted the First chapter of the Dark Knights of Rebellion
