A/N: Hello. Now, this is where we see a couple of characters. One of which is exclusive to this story while another was part of Goof Troop. Also, I have a bit of a job interview today as I was looking for a job. So, wish me luck. Also, there's only two more days until the release of "The Owl House: Coven of Owls". Pretty cool, huh? And there would also be two dream sequences in a similar, yet different manner. One would be a nightmare while another would be more like an odd, yet appealing dream. That's all you need to know for now until later when you read into this chapter. Enjoy. :)
A Goofy Movie
Chapter 5: Pit Stop at Possum Park/A Change of Destination
A few hours later, Goofy was driving with the map in front of him so he can't see as the car drifted left of center before Max, Roxanne, and Amaya glanced up and saw a truck coming as she became concerned while the truck horn blew twice. Amaya became much alarmed before she grabbed the steering wheel and turned the car back into the right lane just as the truck goes by and would have run into her, her brother, her friend, her dad, and the car.
"Dad, you're gonna get us killed!", Amaya exclaimed.
"Why don't you just give me the map?", Max asked.
"Oh, no, thanks, son. Navigating's a big responsibility.", Goofy responded.
"At least let us take care of the directions.", Amaya suggested.
"Yeah, that seems like the bets idea.", Roxanne agreed.
"Besides, you wouldn't want to spoil the big surprise. I'm taking you someplace pretty special!", Goofy spoke before he pulled into a rather seedy looking attraction called Lester's Possum Park and stop.
"Gawrsh! It's even better than I remembered!", Goofy spoke before it showed a mother attempting to drag her daughter through the entrance to the park, which resembled the mouth of a possum.
"No! Mommy! I don't want to go!", the girl whined.
"Yeah, fun! Tell you what: I'm just gonna wait right here in the car.", Max spoke, unenthused.
"You party pooper! Come on! This is gonna be fun!", Goofy spoke as he dragged Max out the car.
"Well. This could be fun.", Roxanne grinned as she and Amaya got out the car.
"I hope so.", Amaya sighed.
Then, inside a small old theater, an old possum was announcing a show.
"Howdy there, folks. Lester's is proud to present the Possum Posse Jamboree. Here it is.", the old possum spoke just as several patrons clapped for the show just as Max, Goofy, Amaya, and Roxanne entered.
"Oh, good! We're just in time!", Goofy spoke just before the curtain opened and showed four holes in the ground.
Out of one of the holes popped a mechanical possum, which had obviously seen better days.
"Howdy, folks! Who's your favorite possum?", Lester asked before several patrons shouted,"Lester!" in reply.
"I got us a seat right up front!", Goofy grinned.
"Let me introduce you to the posse! There's Buford, Beulah, and Mordechai!", Lester introduced as each one popped out a hole, although, Mordechai had a brief, yet terrible electrical short.
"Hey, Lester, ready for yodeling?", Buford chuckled.
"Sure am, Buford.", Lester responded before he started singing.
Lester: Now gather 'round, my possum pals, and join the jamboree. Come hoot 'n' howl 'n' holler from the heart!
"This is pathetic.", Max commented before turning to see Roxanne sitting next to her with Amaya sitting next to her on her left while on the other side next to Max was the little girl from earlier who was whining and was now smiling, shown to have lost some of her teeth sometime before her visit.
Lester: And every chicken, pig, 'n' goat'll help by yelpin' out a yodel here at Lester's Possum Park!
"Who knew it's still good after so long?", Amaya grinned.
"Yeah. That's cute.", Roxanne grinned.
"Join in, folks! It's yodelin' time!", Lester spoke before many patrons joined in the yodeling including Goofy. Max just looked embarrassed initially while Amaya and Roxanne grinned, even letting out small giggles.
Lester: Lester's Possum Park.
As the show proceeded, Max was getting more and more embarrassed as Roxanne giggled, convinced that she was laughing at him when she was actually laughing at the show and seeing everyone having so much fun before Roxanne noticed how dismal out of embarrassment Max was starting to get and grew worried as Amaya noticed, too and grew just as concerned as the show was close to finishing up with Lester beginning to break down before the show started to skip a few times, prompting the old possum to thump the side of the stage to help it pan out fine the rest of the way.
Lester: Well don't you want to be,
a'hanging from a tree?
We're mighty glad to see ya and the parking's always free!
Here at Lester's Po-Po-Po-Possum Park!
The patrons then ran outside as Goofy had been catching it all on video and saw a souvenir stand before getting an idea.
"Hey! That's the ticket! I'll be right back, my little possum pal.", Goofy grinned as he went over there as Roxanne and Amaya caught up.
"Max. There you are. What's wrong?", Roxanne asked.
"Nothing...", Max only sighed before Roxanne then turned to Amaya.
"What is wrong with him? He was a bit happy before the show.", Roxanne puzzled.
"Well, call me crazy, but if I had to guess, I'd say he thinks you were laughing at him.", Amaya responded.
"What? No, that's crazy. Sure, I'd laugh, but not at him.", Roxanne responded.
"Exactly. And I think Max needs to know that right now.", Amaya suggested before Roxanne agreed and went over to Max before she started trying to explain something to him.
"Look, Max. About the show...", Roxanne began just before Goofy returned, much to Max's dismay as he noticed.
"Oh, no! No, Dad! Not that! Not that! Please!", Max pleaded.
"Here you go, sport! What say we get our picture taken?", Goofy grinned as he put the hat on Max anyway and dragged him to the photography area as a girl cried while her picture was taken.
"You have got to be kidding.", Max only responded.
"Oh, all right, but you're missing out!", Goofy responded before he went over to get his pic taken.
"I'll join you, Dad.", Amaya assured as she followed him before Roxanne then finally started saying her peace.
"Anyway, Max. I wasn't laughing at you. I was laughing at the show because it was so funny. And cute.", Roxanne added, puzzling Max.
"Wait. Really?", Max puzzled before Roxanne nodded and then overheard a lot of people laughing because Goofy foolishly hung upside down between two possums to get his picture taken.
"Hiya, son!", Goofy waved as everyone laughed.
"Yeah. Kinda like your dad.", Roxanne responded.
"Hey, everyone! Check out the dork!", the kid spoke.
"Say, 'sassafras'.", the photographer spoke.
"Sassafrass!", Amaya shouted.
"Sassyfrass!", Goofy shouted at the same time before the two possums looked toward the camera and smiled before the picture was taken.
Unfortunately, right after that, the branch broke and Goofy fell to the ground, hurdling one of the possums toward Max's face. The possum then crawled down Max's sweatshirt, causing him to jump around in an attempt to get the possum out while a couple of musicians started playing the instrumental version of the theme for Lester's Possum Park, mistaking Max's gyrations for an attempt at dance as Roxanne grinned with a giggle just as Goofy saw Max.
"That's the spirit, Maxie!", Goofy shouted before he grabbed Amaya and started dancing as well just as he managed to get the possum out of his pants before Roxanne then grabbed Max and started dancing with him.
"What the...? Roxanne? What are you...?", Max puzzled.
"What? This is fun! Isn't it?", Roxanne asked as she and Max danced along before both duos finished the dance with Max and Amaya each on their knees.
"Ta-da! Hyuck!", Goofy grinned.
"Well, you were sprightly.", Amaya spoke before the same kid spoke up, pointing with jeering laughter.
"Look! It's Dork and his Dork family!", the boy spoke before laughing.
"You didn't have to do that, Roxanne.", Max spoke.
"No. But I wanted to. Is...that bad?", Roxanne asked.
"Uh, no. It's actually great. I just didn't expect you to dance like that, is all. Much less with me.", Max responded.
"Well, sometimes, you gotta expect the unexpected.", Roxanne grinned just before sounds of booming thunder erupted over the sounds of laughter at Max, Roxanne, Amaya, and Goofy.
"Uh-oh. I think it's about to rain out here.", Amaya realized.
"Yeah. We should probably head back so we don't get soaked.", Max suggested with the crowd ceasing their laughter, although still smiling as they all headed back with Max, Goofy, Roxanne, and Amaya the last people to leave, the hat inadvertently being knocked off Max's head.
Afterwards, they go to the car only to find it locked before Amaya spoke up to Goofy, who noticed a possum hat on the ground and picked it back up before heading to the car and unlocking the door with Max, Amaya, and Roxanne getting in before Goofy went around and got in, too, handing Max the hat that fell off.
"Oh, you dropped your hat.", Goofy spoke before Max sighed.
"You know, Dad, if Roxanne hadn't come along with us, this would probably have been the stupidest vacation. I mean, you did drag me from home, jam me in this car, and drive a million miles away all just to see some rat show. But...all the same, she did like it. You probably just got lucky, Dad. And right now, that's...kind of a good thing.", Max spoke.
"But isn't that usually a good thing to be lucky?", Goofy asked.
"That kinda depends on what kind of lucky we are. But that's not the point here. Maybe just try to be careful where you go next, all right?", Max advised.
With that, Goofy, puzzled as he is, started the car and drove off.
Later, at a campground, Goofy and Amaya were setting up a tent as Max and Roxanne were sitting on a rock by a river with the former stirring the water with a stick before the latter got out a small rock and spoke to Max.
"Hey, Max. Watch this.", Roxanne spoke before tossing a rock across the water, skipping it across the water.
"Whoa. Not bad, Roxanne. How'd you do that?", Max asked.
"Well, you just gotta position your fingers on the rock just right, make sure the rock's small and flat enough, wind up, and let 'er fly.", Roxanne responded as she followed through on the steps through example.
"Oh. Okay. Let me give it a shot.", Max spoke as he got out another small rock and was about to try his hand when Goofy stepped up, stopping him from following through.
"Hey, Max. You wanna get in some fishing practice? Just a couple of days 'til we get to Lake Destiny.", Goofy asked tentatively.
But before Max could respond, a huge RV rolled over the top of the tent nearby and proceeded to place two support claws on the ground and saw off a few trees before producing a hot tub, a basketball court, a bowling alley, and a swimming pool as Max, Goofy, Amaya, and Roxanne saw what was happening.
"Woah! Now that's camping!", Max spoke in awe before a door on the back of the RV folded down, revealing a bit of a fog effect with Pete and Peg stepping out of the back of the RV.
"Pete? Peg?", Goofy puzzled.
"Goofy?", Peg asked.
"What a serendipity do dah! Who'da thunk it, huh?", Pete spoke in surprise as the back door for the RV descended just as Peg noticed Amaya and then went over to hug her.
"Aw, Amaya. I am so happy to see you.", Peg greeted as she gave a hug to her.
"Good to see you, too, Peg.", Amaya responded before Peg noticed Roxanne.
"And who are you? I never saw you before.", Peg spoke.
"Oh. Uh, hi. I'm Roxanne. Her friend.", Roxanne responded.
"Oh, nice to meet you, Roxanne. I'm Peg.", Peg greeted before Pete hugged Amaya the same way, but with a big old bear hug.
"Nice to have you here, Amaya.", Pete greeted.
"Uh..., thanks. I guess...", Amaya strained.
"So, you must be that kid PJ went through the trouble of helping his friend impress, huh?", Pete greeted.
"Uh..., I guess I am.", Roxanne blushed as she looked toward Max, who blushed as well.
"Well, it's nice to meet ya. The name's Pete.", Pete responded.
"Uh, nice to meet you?", Roxanne puzzled.
"Speaking of PJ, is he here?", Max asked.
"Oh, yeah. I'm sure he's loafing around here somewhere.", Pete responded.
Inside the RV, PJ was doing quite the contrary. He was not loafing around, not in the least. Matter of fact, he was buffing the floor and dusting while listening to Powerline on the stereo and singing along while his sister, Pistol danced to the beat just as Max and Roxanne entered the RV.
"What a goob.", Max grinned.
"He likes Powerline, too? And he has a sister?", Roxanne asked.
"Oh, yeah.", Max responded.
PJ even started treating the buffer like a microphone, still singing along before Max turned off the stereo, making Pistol stop singing before turning to see Max as PJ, oblivious, kept singing.
"Even if you got to shout out loud! No matter what you look it's Max I ge... Max!", PJ shouted excitedly.
"Hey, hey, hey!", Max greeted as he shook hands with him and tapped fists with each other.
"Hi, Max! I heard about what you pulled at high school from Big Brother.", Pistol grinned.
"Y-You have?", Max puzzled.
"Yeah. If any more word gets out, it'll go down in school history.", Pistol grinned.
"Whoa! Small wilderness, dude! Didn't expect to run into you.", PJ grinned.
"Apparently not.", Max responded.
"You're just jealous man, 'cause you ain't got the moves!", PJ grinned.
"Yeah, you can keep the moves. But I wouldn't mind having this RV. You're so lucky, man!", Max spoke to PJ as he even noticed a fish bowl and a small octopus inside.
"Yeah, your dad's RV just looks so fancy!", Roxanne grinned.
"Thanks.", PJ responded.
"PJ, this is Roxanne. Roxanne, this is PJ.", Max introduced.
"And this is my little sis.", PJ introduced to Roxanne, gesturing to Pistol.
"My name is Pistol.", Pistol responded.
"Nice to officially meet you two, PJ.", Roxanne grinned as she offered her hand.
"Yeah, same here.", PJ grinned before turning to Max.
"So, how'd you get her to come with you, anyway, Max?", PJ asked.
"Well, actually, about that, someone else already did, Peej.", Max responded.
"Who?", PJ asked.
"Amaya.", Max responded.
Meanwhile, at the roof of the RV, Pete began bowling as Peg spoke to Goofy.
"So, how's it going, Goofy? Is your kid still on edge?", Peg asked.
"Oh, I don't know what's wrong, Peg. Just seems like everything I try only drives Max further away. Or even gets closer to doin' it, at least. Maybe I ought to just back off, I don't know…", Goofy responded.
"Wrong, Goof. Look, if you keep'm under thumb, they'll never end up in the gutter!", Pete suggested as he bowled and got only nine pins leaving one standing, much to his shock.
"Too bad, Pete. Almost.", Goofy spoke.
"Almost? Heh! Watch this! PJ!", Pete shouted with an echo before his son frantically came running up to the roof.
"Here, Sir! Coming, Sir! Yes, Sir!", PJ shouted before he reported with Pete pointing at the pin before PJ went over to the pin and kick it down.
"Woohoo! Strike-ola! Yeeha! Thank you! Thank you! Yes! And the crowd goes wild! High five, son! Psych!", Pete shouted excitedly as he even messed with PJ about the high-five before laughing, earning a glare from Peg toward Pete before she turned to Goofy and spoke to him.
"You know, Goofy, you shouldn't believe everything Pete says. Sometimes, you just gotta let things happen naturally.", Peg suggested.
"Gawrsh. Really?", Goofy puzzled.
"Say, Goof, why don't you two stay for dinner?", Pete asked.
"Cool!", Max grinned.
"Oh, no thanks, Pete. Max and I have some fish to catch.", Goofy spoke.
"Aw, Dad, we can do that tomorrow. So, uh, what are we having?", Max asked.
"But Max, I thought…", Goofy began before Pete cleared his throat.
"Under you thumb, Goof.", Pete whispered.
"Or you could let things happen naturally.", Peg suggested.
Frankly, it was a bit tough to decide before Goofy then gave a grin as he had an idea before then getting serious and determined.
"Maximillian!", Goofy spoke.
"What?", Max asked.
"Get your gear, little man. As soon as we finish eating dinner here, we're going fishing! We could at least use some practice before we arrive at Lake Destiny anyways.", Goofy suggested.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind fishing later tonight.", Roxanne grinned.
"This is perfect! I even brought a book about fish that'll help us identify and find fish at this part of the country.", Amaya grinned.
"Well, okay.", Max spoke as he went down with Peg noticing this with a grin before Goofy turned to Peg and winked while giving a thumbs-up before Peg returned the gesture with Goofy then walking away as well.
A moment later, as Max got his gear as instructed, he was rather surprised to see Peg down here.
"Peg? What are you doing here?", Max puzzled.
"Look. Do you have a moment?", Peg asked.
"Uh, I guess. Why do you ask?", Max asked.
"Well, you know how I've been married to that tub of butter for some time now?", Peg asked.
"Uh, yeah. Why do you ask?", Max asked.
"Because I'm starting to think that Pete wasn't exactly the best choice of a husband that I picked. I mean, sure I have a couple of wonderful kids, but Pete doesn't exactly see one of them that way. He is all right with Pistol, but not so much with PJ.", Peg responded.
"Oh, yeah. I remember that.". Max remembered.
"The point is, I think I'm better off with someone else.", Peg spoke.
"Someone else? Like what?", Max asked.
"Like..., I don't know, Goofy.", Peg responded.
"You mean my dad?", Max puzzled in surprise.
"Exactly. I've had feelings for him for some time, but I just don't know how to go about it.", Peg responded.
"Y-you have...? Wow. That is a lot to take in.", Max spoke in slight surprise before clearing his throat.
"But the point is, I know what you're going through. Matter of fact, I'm still going through it.", Max responded.
"Let me guess. You have a thing for Roxanne?", Peg asked.
"What the...?! Was it that obvious?", Max spoke in surprise.
"Only by a little. Plus, PJ spread the word.", Peg responded.
"That he did, apparently. The point is, though, I may not know much about love right now, but if you really love someone, then it's up to you to make yourself stand out from the crowd, really let your voice be heard and your presence known and all that. That's how I did it with Roxanne. Even if I did end up getting caught before I found out it actually worked.", Max responded.
"Oh. So, that's what that halabaloo in the school assembly was about.", Peg responded.
"Yep. It was all in the name of love. Sometimes, it makes people do crazy things. And strangely enough, they somehow find a way to work out in the end. Well, gotta get the gear ready.", Max responded before Peg put her finger on her chin as if getting an idea.
Later, after dinner, in their fishing gear, the group of four entered the river with their rods.
"Dad, I don't even know how to fish.", Max complained.
"Oh, now come on. That never stopped me! Let me show you a little family secret that's been handed down for about twelve or thirteen Goof generations: The Perfect Cast!", Goofy spoke.
"The Perfect What?", Max puzzled.
"The Perfect Cast! My dad taught it to me when I was about your age. Okay now, watch carefully. You gotta be loose. Relaxed. With your feet apart, and… Ten o'clock. Two o'clock. Quarter to three! Tour Jete! Twist! Over! Pas de deux! I'm a little teapot! And the windup…", Goofy spoke as he did some poses accordingly before his line went all the way back to where Pete was eating the last piece of steak before the hook snagged on it, puzzling Pete.
"And let 'er fly! The Perfect Cast!", Goofy spoke before the hook with the steak went sailing and landed on the bank of the river a fair ways away in the middle of a large footprint.
Two feet that match the footprint then came up, revealing the source to be none other than Bigfoot, who was chewing on a log before he stopped and sniffed, noticing a slab of stake on the ground.
"And now, we reel 'er in.", Goofy grinned as he started to reel in the line.
Meanwhile, Bigfoot was about to take the steak when Goofy started to reel it in with Bigfoot chasing the steak and finally catching it before biting it, causing Goofy to be pulled slightly.
"Pull harder, Dad!", Amaya shouted before Bigfoot was promptly pulled by Goofy.
"Quick! Get the camera!", Goofy urged as he, Max, Roxanne, and Amaya got back to the bank with Max handing Goofy the camera.
"Must be over three pounds! I don't wanna miss this!", Goofy spoke before he saw not a fish, but instead, the mythical creature himself.
"Look, fellas!", Max spoke in an awed whisper.
"Uh, duh, duh, dad? It's BIGFOOT!", Max shouted, pointing to him.
"Could you back up a bit Mister Foot? You're out of focus.", Goofy asked before Bigfoot only roared, sending Goofy, Max, Amaya, and Roxanne running as fast as they can with a steak flying back at Pete, hitting him in the face before Pete got it off his face.
"What's the idea of…", Pete began before he saw Max, Goofy, Amaya, and Roxanne running from Bigfoot.
"Bigfoot!", Pete shouted before grabbing the BBQ, throwing it in the RV, retracting all the equipment attached to the RV, and driving off, leaving Goofy's tent where it was just as Goofy was running backward, getting Bigfoot on video.
"Behold the legendary Bigfoot! Fabled but seldom…", Goofy began before he tripped over the tent and the camera went flying.
"It's locked!", Max shouted as he tried to get in the car, but to no avail.
"Quick! The sun roof!", Goofy shouted before he and Max dove through the sun roof as did Amaya and Roxanne before Goofy started rolling the window closed.
"Hurry up!", Roxanne shouted before Bigfoot roared as he was fast approaching while Goofy was still rolling the window closed.
"Hurry up!", Amaya shouted next before the window finally closed just as Bigfoot got there, rocking the car back and forth for a moment, and then noticing all the equipment Goofy had unpacked before going to investigate.
"I can't believe it...", Roxanne spoke in awe.
"I know. Bigfoot!", Amaya added.
"And I've got the only video!", Goofy added.
"We're gonna be famous!", Max exclaimed.
Unfortunately, Bigfoot has discovered the camera and was pulling the tape out in shreds in curiosity.
"Well, so much for the camera.", Amaya spoke.
"Let's just get out of here.", Max sighed in disgust before Goofy felt for the keys only to notice that Bigfoot found them outside and tossed them away before he continued searching through the equipment in amazement.
Later that evening, Amaya, Roxanne, Goofy, and Max were still in the car.
"Is he gone yet?", Max asked before Bigfoot did a sort of puppet show using socks before laughing at the end result he came up with.
"Nope, still here.", Goofy responded before Bigfoot laughed as he got away from the car and then got back to searching the equipment.
"How much time had passed since we got trapped here?", Roxanne asked.
"About 2 hours.", Amaya responded before her, Roxanne's, and Max's stomach growled.
"Gee, fellas. Was that Bigfoot or your stomachs?", Goofy asked.
"Man, we're starving.", Max responded just before a can of alphabet soup landed on the hood of the car.
"Huh. That's lucky.", Roxanne grinned.
"Alphabet soup coming up!", Goofy assured before he rolled down the window and tried to grab the can.
Unfortunately, Bigfoot heard the sound and turned around, racing toward the car.
"Uh, duh, dad… Dad!", Max shouted as Goofy managed to get the can, but couldn't get it through the crack he left while Bigfoot roared, careening toward the car.
"Stop playing around! He's coming!", Amaya shouted before she grabbed her father's hand and turned it to the vertical direction, allowing it to get through.
And just in time, too, as Bigfoot crashed into the side of the car and was sent sprawling along with a lot of the equipment he dragged along, landing on the ground before a pair of headphones landed on his head, which is playing "Staying Alive". Bigfoot was startled at first, but then began to enjoy it. Inside the car, a cigarette lighter popped out of the dashboard before Goofy balanced the can of soup over the lighter.
"Well, it's nice to know this thing's good for something.", Goofy spoke.
"Yeah. I guess so.", Roxanne grinned.
While they waited for the soup to heat up, they sat as Bigfoot did the hustle in the background with Roxanne noticing this before giggling at how Bigfoot was enjoying himself with Max, Amaya, and Goofy catching each other looking at the other and quickly look away before Goofy then smiled and started to chuckle.
"What's so funny?", Max asked.
"'Hi Dad' Soup!", Goofy responded, puzzling Max.
"Huh?", Max puzzled.
"Don't tell me you don't remember 'Hi Dad' Soup.", Goofy spoke to Max, who just looked blank while Roxanne grew a bit surprised.
Play Alexandre Desplat Music: "Kristofferson's Theme"
"What?", Roxanne giggled a bit.
"Oh. I get it. It's the soup where you rearrange the letters in the soup and spell things out, isn't it?", Amaya remembered.
"Yeah, like, uh, 'Hi Dad' or 'Maxie' or…", Goofy began.
"…'Ambidextrous'…", Max added.
"Yeah, that's…Nah, little words, like…", Goofy began.
"'Hasta la vista'?", Max asked.
"Like 'Bye bye'!", Goofy added.
"…or 'I pledge allegiance'…", Amaya added.
"…or 'I love you'…", Goofy began before he, Amaya, and Max suddenly looked sad.
"Uh, is the soup ready yet?", Amaya asked.
"Oh, I almost forgot!", Goofy realized before he picked up the can and used his teeth to create two holes in the top of the can.
"Whoa! Where'd you learn to do that?", Max asked as he got out 3 cups and passed two of them down to Roxanne and Amaya.
"Your granddad taught me that when we went to Yosemite.", Goofy responded as he poured some soup in each of the cups.
"You two did a lot together, huh?", Roxanne asked.
"Yup.", Goofy responded, looking quite sad before both Goofy and Max spoke in unison.
"Max, you and I have to…", Goofy began.
"Dad, listen I have a…", Max began in unison before both abruptly stopped for a moment.
"How's the soup?", Goofy asked before Max drank the soup as did Roxanne and Amaya, each getting small traces of soup on their upper lips.
"Not bad.", Max grinned in reply before Roxanne giggled a bit as did Amaya from seeing the soup mustache on Max's lip just as Max saw his dad grinning.
"What?", Max puzzled.
Little did he know that for Goofy, seeing Max with a mustache reminded Goofy of what Max was like as a little boy as Goofy just grinned.
"Nothing.", Goofy responded before Bigfoot climbed on top of the car and settled down to sleep, even sucking his thumb.
"Welp, might as well get some shut eye. I don't think we're going anywhere tonight.", Goofy suggested as he got comfortable while Roxanne and Amaya yawned in agreement.
"Yeah. Good idea.", Roxanne sighed in response while drifting off to sleep as did Amaya while Max looked lovingly at his dad and then at the remnants of the soup in his cup before doing some fiddling at the bottom of the cup, tapping his father, and handing him the cup to see the words, "Hi Dad" spelled out.
Goofy got choked up and looked over at Max, who was now settling down to sleep.
"Hi, Maxie.", Goofy whispered.
End Alexandre Desplat Music: "Kristofferson's Theme"
Later that night, both Bigfoot and Goofy were snoring and Max couldn't sleep because of the noise. Just as he stretched for a moment, he inadvertently stomped his foot on the dashboard. The glove compartment popped open and the map unfolded into his lap as a result before following the route on it to Lake Destiny and then looking down to see L.A. A pencil rolled out of the glove compartment and conveniently stopped, pointing from the route on the map directly to L.A. Unfortunately, Roxanne woke up a bit form the light form the dashboard and saw Max picking up the pencil and then changed routes by erasing the old route and drawing a new route to L.A. with a pencil tip breaking just before he could finish (albeit in intervals with Max turning around one time to see Roxanne sleeping, although he didn't know she was just pretending) just as Goofy yawned. Hearing this, Max broke out in a cold sweat, picked up the pencil tip to finish the drawing, put the map back in the glove compartment, and sat back nervously as Goofy seemed to have awoken as well, albeit groggily.
"How many cups of sugar does it take to get to the moon?", Goofy asked.
"Uh, three and a half?", Max responded nervously before Goofy grinned a bit and then went back to sleep with a snore before Max sighed and went sadly to sleep, leaving Roxanne feeling worried for Max.
Sometime later, a wind blew wheat field with a beautiful blue sky and cotton puff clouds.
"Max…", Roxanne's voice called before Max appeared close up once again, gasping at the sound of his name, and looked around for her just like last time.
"Max…", her voice called again before Max then caught sight of Roxanne nearby and eventually caught up to see Roxanne on top of a pedestal.
"Roxanne?", Max spoke in surprise before the girl in question, holding a white dandelion, gently blew the seeds toward Max.
"Wait. Why does this feel so familiar?", Max puzzled before Roxanne jumped off the pedestal and then landed on top of Max with a glide like last time, causing both to land on the ground before the two giggled and looked at each other with Max sighing.
This time, Max started to pucker his lips for a kiss as did Roxanne, but unfortunately, the sky changed to overcast gray and the wheat changed to thorns once again as this time, Max grew worried and saw what he never thought he'd see: tow buck teeth in Roxanne's mouth, only they were quite similar to Max's normal teeth, although Roxanne hadn't seemed to notice yet.
"Uh, Roxanne? Since when do you have buck teeth?", Max puzzled nervously.
"What do you mean?", Roxanne puzzled as she checked her teeth and felt them, quickly standing up and trembling with fright as she had not the least idea what's going on with her.
A moment afterward, her ears grew one at a time, as did her hands, starting with her right, prompting Max to be the one to gasp and step back in worry. The next to grow were her feet.
"Max...? What's happening to me?!", Roxanne shouted in worry as she continued to grow and change until she looked exactly like a sort of hybrid between herself and Goofy, the former parts a bit more prominent, albeit with longer hair.
"Mom...?!", Max spoke in shock.
"Max... I...!", Roxanne began only for her to feel herself slipping away before she then spoke in a different voice, riddled with a bit of anger and a glare.
"...am very disappointed in you.", the transformed Roxanne unwittingly finished as lightning flashed behind him.
Suddenly, Max woke up in shock.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!", Max screamed almost immediately, shocking Roxanne awake herself as Goofy woke up a bit in shock (although he then went back to sleep) as did Bigfoot, but mostly out of puzzlement.
"Wha...?", Bigfoot puzzled before going to sleep as well.
"Would you please keep it down...? I'm trying to sleep he...", Amaya spoke groggily before going back to sleep.
The only one who was awake was Roxanne as she saw Max panting.
"Max! Are you okay?", Roxanne asked before Max calmed down for a moment with a relaxed sigh.
"Yeah. I'm fine. It was just a nightmare...", Max responded.
"Yeah... Just a nightmare...", Roxanne responded a bit before Max then turned and went to sleep, but not before darting his eyes to his right for a moment in worry and then fell asleep with Roxanne growing just as worried for him.
"Well, I guess we should turn in for the night.", Roxanne suggested.
"Yeah, I'm pretty tired myself. So, goodnight.", Max spoke as he then turned and got ready to sleep.
"Goodnight. I love you.", Roxanne whispered before covering her mouth in shock and embarrassment.
"What did you say?", Max asked in puzzlement.
"Oh! Uh, nothing...!", Roxanne responded a bit nervously herself with a slight giggle before Max shrugged a bit and went back to sleep as Roxanne gave one look of worry and a bit of a blush before going back to sleep, riddled in her own worry.
A/N: Looks like Roxanne caught Max in the act this time around but didn't want to let Max know that. And this time, we got introduced to Beth, Goofy's wife (voiced by Anne Hathaway) and Pistol (voiced by Emma Stone, this time around). Who knows what it could mean or where it'd go from here now? Either way, it sure is quite a sight to behold. :)
