Midoriya Izuku always tries to stay positive, being positive is what heroes need to do after all, if the heroes aren't looking forward who will? Even though his quirk is basically a glorified medical disease, it was supposed to be called Slipstream, that was the name Eraserhead had given it when he had been save as a child, however the scientists who had been assigned to him to try and find a way to keep him stabilised so he doesn't disappear started calling it 'Chronal Dissociation' making Izuku feel like his quirk was more of a disease than a quirk.

Izuku basically lived in the hospital, he was allowed to go out whenever his quirk seemed stable, that wasn't very often however, or when Eraserhead came to visit him, which also didn't happen very often due to his hero work, and apparently he had recently became a teacher, which wasn't something Izuku expected from the man who's middle name might as well be "laissez-faire".

They had him inside a sealed room where the only way to get out is to be let out from the outside, this was so when he disappears from hours on end the scientists would know where he would appear again. Izuku didn't think it was all bad though, as mentioned before, he likes to stay positive, he was allowed to ask for anything, no matter the price, and he would be allowed it as long as it wasn't anything insane, like a bomb that would destroy an entire city, he doesn't know why they used that to explain what he wasn't allowed but it didn't bother him.

People were allowed to visit him, although not many did, mainly his mother, Kacchan and his family, he saw his father once when he was first hospitalised, and then he went back overseas for his work, the kids who were with him on the day also would show up when he was younger, they stopped around his 10th birthday, he hasn't seen them for 2 years now, he doesn't blame them or anything, visiting him was hard since he might not even be there when they are able to visit.

Today seemed to be another boring average day for Izuku, he would disappear, reappear, have strange dreams about the past, as well as strange dreams about what he would assume to be the future, at least he thinks, he doesn't remember much about the dreams, they are dreams after all. Another boring day for the energetic and positive Izuku who was stuck in a box, that was until he noticed Eraserhead walk in with a gorilla wearing a laboratory coat? That was indeed a strange sight for Izuku, and the scientists that would monitor him, they all seemed confused as well. Izuku was sure the Gorilla wasn't a hero, he's pretty sure he would know about a hero like that, unless he was an underground hero like Eraserhead, but by the clothing choice of the gorilla he assumed he wasn't a hero.

Eraserhead and the gorilla talked to the scientists for a bit and then the gorilla showed them something, it looked like some sort of harness, a very futuristic looking harness. Then the scientists opened up the way into his box, and the gorilla walked in and spoke, in perfect Japanese "Excuse me for dropping in, I hope you don't mind my names Winston, I have something that you may like after all", that was not what Izuku was expecting a gorilla to sound like, he thought they would sound more angry? He wasn't sure what he was expecting himself. After speaking the gorilla, now known as Winston, pulled out the futuristic harness and handed it over to Izuku, which when he went to grab the harness, he noticed he stopped flickering about, he held the harness and looked at Winston who was smiling, Izuku didn't realise it himself but he was also smiling, "Glad to see you like it, I call it the Chronal Accelarator, it should keep you anchored to the present timeline, glad to see it's already working, I was sure there would a few bugs I needed to figure out!" Winston ended his sentence with a small laugh, whilst Izuku could just stare at him speechless, this was so sudden after all, he hadn't heard anything about this, was this another one of those weird dreams he had? He put down the harness, which seemed to keep him from flickering in and out of existence as long as he was in close proximity to it and pinched himself, and he was still there, this wasn't a dream, after realising this he started to cry, he only just met this Winston and he had already saved his life, so whilst crying he hugged the giant gorilla as much as he could whilst exclaiming as many thank yous as he possibly could, Winston accepted the hug, he would be heartless if he didn't, Eraserhead was still in the observing room, and whilst he wouldn't admit this to anyone, but he smiled.

The next few days had been hectic, and that was putting it mildly, the moment his Mother heard that a device had been created that would keep Izuku anchored to his own timeline she made her way over to the hospital, and cried a river, Izuku had been kept in the hospital a few more days as they made sure the Chronal Accelarator actually kept him stable, and it did. However there were also some tricks he was able to do now, whilst the Chronal Accelarator kept him tied to the present he could "blink" as he would call it, this would take a lot out of him though, one blink felt like he had ran a marathon, he expected it though, he is technically speeding up his own timeline when he does it, at least that's what Winston said he was doing. He wasn't sure what else he would be able to do with his quirk now that he had something to help control it, but he sure as hell wasn't giving up this opportunity.

Izuku had been allowed home the same week that he had met Winston, and now his mother was on the phone talking about transferring him into his local middle school, he thought this was all going very quick, but he didn't mind, his quirk allowed him to jump through time, so he might as well move as quickly as possible. After his mother finished her phone call she called him for his dinner, which happened to be Katsudon, his favourite, during dinner she told him that he would be able to start going to school next week, Izuku wanted to tell Kacchan, but instead he decided to keep it a surprise.

Izuku decided to start running, if he was fast his quirk would be a lot better, and maybe he could blink more often, so running helped him gain speed and build his stamina. He avoided places with a lot of people, he has been in a white box for his basically his entire life, social interactions weren't exactly his strong points, so he opted to run along a beach, which had litter all over it, which is the reason there was no one at the beach, he would run until he was ready to drop, thankfully, the Chronal Accelarator was not heavy at all which made it easy for him to run whilst wearing it. He spent his entire week running.

Midoriya Inko has never felt so happy in her life, ever since Izuku got his quirk she had felt guilty, like it was her fault for him manifesting that quirk, but now she was looking at her son with a school uniform, tying his big red shoes, getting ready for school, she couldn't be any happier than she is right now. She is also his mother, so of course she has to make sure her son has everything ready for school, which is why she was at the door in the first place, to make sure he had everything, what she wasn't expecting was for Izuku to suddenly ask her a question, "Hey mum, can I be a hero now?" When Izuku said that she remembered the day at the hospital where she was holding him, crying, apologising when he asked if he could be a hero, she's always hated herself for doing that, so she won't do it again.

"Of course you can be a hero."
