A/N: Hello. :) With that, we are now just 1 chapter away from the finale of this story. Now, I have to warn you. It may get intense between Max and Amaya, at least for the latter's part. But nonetheless, things will work out between the two before this chapter ends. Or at least they'd start to. :)

A Goofy Movie

Chapter 7: Directions to Disaster; "Nobody Else But You"

The next morning, Goofy, Max, Amaya, and Roxanne were driving down the road in silence. Goofy still had the same shocked expression on his face as Amaya still gave a cold glare. After a moment, Goofy decided to give Max a chance to make the right choice, and hoped to avoid a confrontation at the same time. Amaya, however, still had doubts. They exchange uncomfortable glances to each other before Goofy then looked up to see a junction sign from above, passed it, and handed Max the map.

"Well, here you go, navigator...just follow my route on the map, son.", Goofy spoke.

"Okay, uh, umm...uh...", Max began as he looked nervously at the map and then up at the signs indicating the upcoming junction, which are zipping overhead.

"Here comes our junction...", Goofy spoke before Max still mumbled, undecided as they careen toward the center divider on the highway.

"Okay, Max...now this is it: left or right?", Goofy asked as Max was still uneasy.

"Come on, Max!", Goofy shouted.

"Aaaaaahhhhh!...LEFT!", Max shouted before Goofy lurched the car to the left, and hit the center divider in the process.

But it was at that moment Max realized what he had just said and what direction they went.

"Oh, no... What did I just say? What have I done?", Max asked.

"I was about to ask you the same thing...", Amaya spoke coldly to Max, her suspicions apparently proven true and her faithlessness well-placed in the subject.

"...Uh, how `bout a song?", Max spoke nervously as Amaya only sank lower and lower, getting angrier and angrier all the same as Max continued trying to pretend nothing's happening.

"Uh, a game? A game! A game! Yeah! Yeah, a game. Okay, uh...man or woman? Man? Okay, Man...okay, uh...Walt Disney!", Max spoke before finally, Amaya quite snapped.

"STOP THE CAR!", Amaya shouted before Goofy, out of surprise, veered off the road into a scenic lookout point and stopped the car.

Amaya then opened the door and struggled to get out while wearing a seat belt before she realized she still had it on, released it and stormed away, beginning looking out over the edge with Goofy sadly doing the same thing to keep Amaya company. Max decided to try to make amends with Amaya and approached her.

"Amaya, uh, listen...about my directions...", Max began before Amaya only turned away twice, refusing to acknowledge him.

"Will you listen to me? I gotta tell you something, Amaya.", Max spoke.

But Amaya was not in the mood to hear it.

"NO! You know what? I'm done trying to get you to be with us! You want to go to your stupid Powerline concert, go right ahead, because I honestly couldn't care less about what you do, because you, Maximilian, are dead to me!", Amaya only responded coldly to him, her harsh words practically stabbing at Max's heart like the sharpest of blades.

With that, Max only sunk down and walked away.

"Forget it...", Max spoke as he walked away before leaning

"You meant to go right instead of left on the map you changed, didn't you?", Roxanne guessed.

"Yeah. But with the stress going on, I said the wrong thing and now... Wait, what? How did you know that? Before today, that is...", Max puzzled.

"I...kinda saw you doing it 2 nights ago. Why would you do something like that?", Roxanne asked.

"I don't know. I guess before I found out that you did, I just... wanted you to like me.", Max sighed in response as he leaned against the car.

But then, all of a sudden, the car rolled out from behind him and he fell to the ground with a thud and looked back to see what happened and realized that the car was rolling away.

"H-h-hey! The car!", Max shouted in surprise.

"Ooooh, so now, you just want to take the car and leave dad and I here? That is so typical of you Maximilian.", Amaya only spoke coldly.

"No, Amaya, look! The car!", Roxanne shouted before Amaya turned as did Goofy and saw what Max was trying to point out.

"What?!", Amaya exclaimed.

"The car!", Goofy shouted as all four of them ran after the car, frantically.

"What'd you do now, Max?", Goofy asked.

"I didn't do anything, Dad! I only touched it!", Max responded before the car passed under a low-hanging rock formation and all their luggage got knocked off of the roof as 2 skateboards flew off and landed on the road in front of Goofy, who inadvertently stepped on one of them as Amaya jumped on the back of the board and rode with him while another appeared before Max stepped aboard it with Roxanne holding onto him.

The two groups zipped back and forth, trying to get around the side of the car.

"Oh, ohhhh...whoa! You locked it!", Amaya shouted as Goofy grabbed onto the driver's side of the car and tried to open the door, but it's locked.

"I locked it!? It's his door, he locked it!", Max argued as he left Goofy hanging on and managed to get to the passenger side door as Roxanne jumped in alongside him.

"Sure, blame the patriarch! It's always him!", Amaya retorted sarcastically before Max unlocked the driver's side door and it opened, swinging Goofy out over the canyon before Max pulled the door shut again, and opened the window for Goofy and Amaya to get through as he pulled Amaya in first and pulled Goofy into the car up to his waist, and his pants fell down, although still around his legs.

"He should've put the brake on!", Max responded.

"Why don't you just put it on yourself!", Amaya retorted before she grabbed the brake lever and pulled it to stop the car, but it broke off in her hand.

"Uh-oh. That's not a good sign.", Roxanne spoke in worry before the car slid out on the guide rail and hung over the canyon.

"None of this would be happening if you hadn't ruined this vacation!", Amaya shouted.

"I ruined it!?", Max responded as the guide rail let loose and the car got launched into the air before bouncing off of several rock formations while Max continued to argue with Amaya, bouncing them both around the car's interior.

"I never...wanted to go...on this stupid...vacatioooooooooooon!", Max shouted as the car bounced off the last rock formation and then plummeted a long way as Roxanne screamed before landing in the river below.

When they did, they all swam up to the surface one at a time.

"Max! Are you okay?", Roxanne asked.

"Yeah. But where's Dad?", Max asked before Goofy spoke up.

"Right here, son!", Goofy shouted.

"Is Amaya still here?!", Max shouted before Amaya resurfaced with a cough.

"There she is!", Roxanne shouted as she pointed to her and went up toward the car as the others followed.

"Now look where you got us, Max!", Amaya scolded.

"Where I got us!? You should've let me stay at home!", Max argued as he and the others struggled to get back on the car before Roxanne boosted Max up onto its roof as Goofy did the same for Amaya, who helped pull Goofy onto the roof.

"Why? So you'd tear our family apart by ending up in prison?! By ending up in the Electric chair?!", Amaya shouted, starting to tear up.

"Prison? Electric chair?! What are you talking about?", Max asked as the car bounced and spun wildly through a series of rapids.

"Principal Mazur called our dad!", Amaya shouted back in reply.

"It's not what you think!", Max shouted.

"Not what I think?! You lied to our dad! You lied to me!", Amaya shouted.

"I had to! You were ruining my life!", Max shouted.

"I was only trying to keep this family together for our mom, okay?!", Amaya retorted.

"I'm NOT a little boy anymore, Amaya! I've grown up! I've got my own life now!", Max shouted.

"That was all you ever cared about when all I wanted was a brother!", Amaya shouted before the car slid over a small waterfall into a calm water with the sun shining on Max, Amaya, Goofy, and Roxanne.

"You and Dad were all I had. But you were the one who needed to win over Roxanne and mess everything up for me in the process! Don't you see, Max? Ever since Mom passed away, I nearly got suspended. I nearly got expelled. I've suffered too much... because of you! And you don't even seem to care...", Amaya sighed sadly before she turned her back on Max and sunk down, angry, sad, and dejected with Max feeling the same way.

Sometime later, as birds flew across the sky, Max began to speak up but then turned away as Amaya did the same, still angry, but a little bit less as she was now more sad than angry now before she spoke up in song form with Max, Roxanne, and Goofy joining in as the car floated into a cavern with blue ripples reflecting from the water before floating out of said cavern and eventually fishing with their feet with Max catching a small fish, Roxanne and Anaya catching salmon, and Goofy catching a big fish by the foot before shaking him off with all four headed for a whirlpool, get sucked in, and then jump off it and continue onward.

Amaya: There are times you drive me, shall we say, bananas

And your plans are missin', no offence, a screw

Max: None taken

Amaya: Still, whatever mess I land in

Who is always understandin'?

Nobody else but you

Goofy: Oh, your moodiness is now and then bewilderin'

And your values may be, so to speek, askew

Amaya: Gesundheit

Goofy: Thanks

Who deserves a hero's trophy as we face each "catastro-phee"?

Nobody else but you

All: Nobody else buy you

It's just our luck

We're stuck together

Nobody else but you

Is crazy enough to believe we'll come through

Max: So your jokes are all, let's face it, prehistoric

Goofy: And your music sounds like monkeys in a zoo

All: But when life becomes distressin'

Who will I be S.O.S'in?

Max: If you're havin' trouble guessing, here's a clue

Amaya: Though he seems intoxicated

Roxanne: He's just highly animated

Amaya: And he's nobody else but

All: Nobody else but you

We've turned into a true-blue duo

Hard times we've had a few

Max: Like we're thrown in the drink

Amaya: Like we're tossed out of town

Goofy: But when I start to sink,

Roxanne: hey, I'd rather go down

All: With nobody else but Y-O-U!

Then, Max turned to Amaya.

"And Mom says, 'hi'.", Max spoke to Amaya, surprising her as she gasped with tears of joy before she then started hugging Max as she sobbed, making him grunt a bit as she hugged him tightly.

"Yeah. There we go.", Max spoke in slight surprise.

"Just let it all out, Amaya. We're all here for you.", Roxanne spoke as Amaya sniffled with a smile.

"Thank you...", Amaya thanked as she sniffled while the car drifted in the water.

A/N: See? I told you things'll work out. Such a heartfelt scene, isn't it? And now, the final chapter is coming very soon, now. I can hardly wait. :)
