A/N: And now, in this chapter, Haru's transformation into a cat progresses all the while Meki and Meku found themselves rewarded with gifts from the Cat Kingdom.
The Cat Returns: Haru the Princess of Cats
Chapter 2: "Haru the Cat?!; Gifts from A Grateful Kingdom"
The next morning, as the sun rose up, Haru got out of bed with a yawn and went into the prince's bathroom to wash up. But when she got to the mirror, she noticed that her ears were not only on top of her head, but they also looked distinctly like cat ears.
"Whoa, what the... Are those cat ears on my head? They look so real.", Haru spoke in wonder before she pulled on them and yelped when she found that they are, in fact, real.
"How did this happen?! And my eyes and teeth are different too! What's happening to me?", Haru asked in worry before she then had a sudden realization.
"Wait. That wish I made last night. This kingdom must have magic in it that's doing this to me. Which means...I'm actually becoming a cat.", Haru realized before her eyes widened at this discovery and a big smile grew on her face with Haru then jumping up and down for joy.
"Yes! My wish is coming true! I'm turning into a cat, a beautiful cat! I love this kingdom and my beautiful cat eyes, my sharp and gorgeous fangs, my beautiful cat ears! Oh, can this get any better?", Haru shouted ecstatically as her nose began to twitch before becoming triangle shaped, flipping upside down and turning pink with her upper lip beginning to puff up and split in the middle ending at the tip of her new cat nose and finally, her face pushed out into a little cat muzzle, filling her with even more happiness.
"Yes, it can! Now I have a beautiful cat face to go along with it! Oh, this kingdom is the best place I have ever been to.", Haru spoke just before Prince Lune walked in.
"Is everything okay, Haru?", Prince Lune asked.
"Everything is wonderful, Lune. Better than I ever could imagine. My wish from last night is coming true, I'm turning into a cat, and a beautiful, gorgeous one at that. Look, I already have the head of one.", Haru spoke elatedly, surprising Lune somewhat before he grinned.
"That's great to hear, Haru. I'm happy for you.", Lune grinned.
"And I'm happy my dream is coming true. I've always wanted to be a cat, meow.", Haru meowed before she then promptly covered her muzzle with her hands.
"Wow... Now, I'm even starting to talk like a cat, too. I love this place, purr purr purr.", Haru purred.
Meanwhile, the alarm clock rang again like usual and Meki woke up and turned the alarm off as usual, but this time, her phone rang before Meki answered.
"No way. You don't know anything about this at all?", Hiromi asked.
"No. I just woke up.", Meki responded.
"Then where did these come from?", Hiromi puzzled before Meki hung up and noticed a lone scroll on her table.
"Meki, come quick! I think you need to see this!", Meku shouted.
Frankly, the whole yard was quite full of cat tail flowers, much to Maku's desdain and frustration.
"AGH, I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS! I MOWED THE ENTIRE YARD LAST NIGHT AND THEN ALL THIS SHOWS UP ALL OF A SUDDEN?!", Maku shouted.
"Hold on a second. Those look like cat tails.", Meku noticed.
"Oh, whatever, I'll do it later. I'm already late for work as it is.", Maku sighed.
Then, later, as Meki and Meku left, the two cats from yesterday noticed them and went off after the two with more cats eventually joining the others in their pursuit.
"Seriously?! Why are they chasing us?!", Meku exclaimed before Hiromi and shouted to Meku and Meki.
"Hey! What do I do with all the Lacrosse sticks?", Hiromi asked.
"Never mind the sticks! What do we do with all those cats?!", Meku shouted back in reply as she and Meki ran before Hiromi noticed all the cats chasing the 2.
"What is that about?", Hiromi puzzled.
"You think they have some catnip on 'em?", a friend asked.
"Catnip? What for?", Hiromi puzzled.
"Beats me.", a friend responded before Meki and Meku ran as fast as they could go with a whole pack of cats chasing the two.
"Hey, no pets allowed in school property, young ladies!", one of the staff shouted.
"They're not with us! They've been chasing us all morning!", Meku shouted back in response as the cats continued running.
Eventually, the two girls ran into the locker room and slowed down.
"What's going on...?", Meku spoke in worry before noticing boxes inside her locker before they fell out and suddenly started moving a bit before one of the mice peeped out of one of the boxes with a squeak, making Meku gasp in shock before more boxes, along with more mice, fell out near Meki and Meku, making the two greatly panicked before the cats then moved in and chased the mice, trying to gobble them up.
"Let's get out of here.", Meki suggested before she and Meku left quickly.
Later, they were back in their classroom and checking over the manuscript left in Meki's room this morning.
"Wow. So, it really wasn't a dream, then. It was those cats who were behind all this.", Meku spoke.
"I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm starting to think we shouldn't have saved those cats.", Meki added before Hiromi popped up, surprising the two.
"Oh, what now...?", Meki groaned.
"Did you two get the catnip off you?", Hiromi asked.
"Huh? Oh, yeah. Someone stuck some in our pockets, but it's gone now.", Meku responded.
"Wow. That's weird.", Hiromi responded before moving over to her seat and sitting down.
"Okay. I got a big favor to ask you two. Can you two take my turn clean up duty for today? Tsuge's got a big game today and if I don't leave right after class, I'll miss it. Please. Please, please.", Hiromi requested.
"Oh. Tsuge... Yeah, sure. We'll do it.", Meku assured.
"Thanks, you guys. You're life savers.", Hiromi grinned.
Later, as Meki and Meku did clean-up duty, Hiromi was watching a sort of Ping Pong game.
"Come on, Tsuge, go.", Hiromi spoke just before the man in question hit the ball and caused it to get away from the table after one bounce, sealing his victory.
"Yes, he's so cool!", Hiromi shouted excitedly.
Meanwhile, the two sisters were walking while carrying trash cans when they saw a young man and his girlfriend. Unfortunately, Meku was distracted and wound up tripping over the safety nets on the two cones, dropping her trash can.
"Meku...!", Meki spoke in worry.
"Careful. Watch your step.", the boy spoke.
"Thanks.", the young girl spoke.
"That... hurt...!", Meku groaned before noticing the trash spilled everywhere.
"Oh, no. Look at the mess I made.", Meku spoke in worry.
"Don't worry. I'll go help pick it up for you. Look on the bright side. At least he didn't notice that.", Meki grinned, looking at the bright side before missing her mark as she tossed a rolled up paper ball at the can before it instead bounced off and rolled over.
"Oh. I missed.", Meki spoke as she went over to pick it up and toss it back over to the trash can.
As she did, though, a cat appeared near the gate.
"There she is. Ms. Meki! Ms. Meku!", the cat shouted, pounding on one of the bars before Meki and Meku turned to see him with the latter gasping and then getting angry before storming over to him, worrying the cat before he was then grabbed by his back.
"You cats just never let up!", Meku shouted.
"Well, we're so glad that you two're pleased.", the cat spoke.
"NO, WE'RE NOT!", Meku snapped back in response, making the cat shake.
"What...?! But how could that be? The whole kingdom is working to make you two happy! And we all agreed that the gifts were just fabulous.", the cat puzzled.
"No, we didn't. Don't you cats know anything? We hate mice, we don't eat them. Our brother had to mow the yard all over again and catnip does nothing for us.", Meku responded.
"Look, don't get me wrong. We do love them. Though, maybe you shouldn't have put Cat Tail Plants in our mom's yard because our brother was mad that he had to mow the yard around their house again.", Meki added.
"Oh, my, my, my, my, my. I guess we've made a little mistake. Well, this is embarrassing. The king will not be happy with me when he hears about this.", the cat groaned.
"I'm sorry. Did I hurt your feelings? I overreacted, didn't I?", Meku asked before the cat shook his head.
"I've just been on edge recently; things have not exactly been going well for us.", Meku responded.
"Oh? Really? What kind of things?", the cat asked.
"I don't know. Everything.", Meku sighed.
"I'm quite shocked to hear this. But I suppose even pretty girls like you have problems like everyone else.", the cat guessed.
"What? Aw, come on. That's enough.", Meku blushed a bit.
"It is nowhere near enough! The kingdom of Cats has vowed not to rest until you two are completely satisified.", the cat spoke.
"Are you seriously still going on about this?", Meki asked.
"There's more?", Meku added in worry.
"Yes. How would you two like to have your own private tour of the Spectacular Kingdom of Cats?", the cat asked.
"Are you serious?", Meku asked.
"I'm sure you two will love it there. It's a marvelous place. Great food, fabulous scenery and the entire Cat Kingdom is ready and waiting to welcome you, even Ms. Haru.", the cat responded.
"Wait, Haru? She's in the Cat Kingdom?", Meki asked.
"Yes. And that's not all. Because the king is so taken with you, he has decided to invite you two to watch as Ms. Haru is awarded the most valuable gift in all of the cat kingdom: she will become his daughter-in-law and marry Prince Lune. In fact, you two are getting married, too, to Prince Lune's 2 brothers.", the cat spoke.
"What? Don't even think about pulling the wool over my eyes with that.", Meki spoke.
"Yeah, there's no way we can marry a cat, let alone 3 of them. It's just not natural.", Meku responded.
"Don't be so hard on yoursleves. The Royal Family thinks you're good enough and the Prince is so cool.", the cat assured.
"Wait. He's cool?", Meku asked before the cat nodded in response.
"We really would get by just fine as cats, wouldn't we?", Meku asked, exciting the cat.
"Yeah. You get to lie around all day, don't you?", Meki agreed.
"But, of course.", the cat spoke.
"A cat's life does sound pretty great. I mean, you get to eat as much food as you like, take daily naps, and just forget about your worries and your strife altogether. But getting married to a cat? I don't think that's gonna happen.", Meku spoke before she noticed the cat starting to leave as he climbed up.
"Fantastic, we'll collect you two tonight, then.", the cat spoke before he then took off.
"Seriously?! That's not what I meant!", Meku shouted, trying to get to the cat only to trip over the safety nets again.
"Oh, not again...!", Meku groaned before they got up.
"Okay, Meki, think. We've gotta do something about this and get Haru back.
"But what can we do?! Those cats are relentless! They do everything they set their mind to! So, you'll know they'll find a way to kidnap us and then, we'll have to marry cats!", Meku spoke in fear before it showed a hypothetical event happening.
"I now pronounce you cats and wives. You may kiss the brides.", the man spoke before it went back to reality.
"NO, NO, I DON'T WANT TO MARRY A CAT!", Meku sobbed while on the ground.
"Yeah, I don't see this going well.", Meki agreed.
Just then, a voice called out to the two.
"Meku... Meki..", the voice spoke.
"Who's there? And how do you know our names?", Meki asked as she looked around.
"Meku, Meki, go to the Cat Bureau. You two must find the Cat Bureau.", the voice spoke.
"Who's there? Who's messing with us now?!", Meku spoke in worry.
"They will help you there. Look for a large, white cat at the crossroads. He will show you two the way.", the voice spoke.
"What? A cat at the crossroads?", Meki puzzled.
"Find the white cat and go to the Cat Bureau, you two, You need their help.", the voice urged.
Meanwhile, at the Cat Kingdom. Haru's palms and the bottoms of her feet suddenly developed pads on them as the start of her paws.
"Meow. I have pads on my hands. I could even feel them on my feet in my shoes, too, meow, and I pretty soon, I may as well have paws. I wonder. Is there any yarn or toys I can play with or bat around, or something, meow?", Haru puzzled as she licked the back of her hand and rubbed on it as her feet started to feel uncomfortable in her shoes.
"Meow, these shoes are uncomfortable. Better take them off.", Haru spoke before doing so and watching as her toe nails sprouted into claws and her feet twitched.
"Meow, why do my feet feel so weird? Maybe if I lick them, they'll stop feeling like this.", Haru guessed before she started licking again.
But as she started licking, the feeling only intensified and her feet started slowly turning into paws with each lick she takes until they are completely paws and she looked and felt happier.
"Meow, I have paws for feet now? Yes! I love them. They feel so much better than my old feet. Though it will take awhile to get used to walking on them without my tail, but that just makes me all the more excited when I get it, meow.", Haru grinned, not knowing that a bump was appearing just above her butt as the start of her tail as she got up all wobbly.
"Still, this is better than those useless shoes. In fact, looking at them now, I feel a sudden urge to rip them apart and that's exactly what I will do, meow.", Haru spoke before she then made short work of her shoes, tearing them apart.
"Meow, that was fun. But now, I'm hungry. I could go for some Raw Fish, or Mice, or even Cat Food. Actually, I have them all.", Haru grinned before she then went to the kitchen and started to eat all the essential food with a moaning meow in ecstasy as her fur grew, bursting holes in her clothes before she finished up.
"Meow, that was delicious. Now, I know why cats love to eat all this, purr purr purr I love this place.", Haru meowed before noticing that her clothes were not only in tatters, but also uncomfortable as she also noticed that she now had fur all over her body.
"Meow, now I know why cats don't wear clothes. This is so uncomfortable. I gotta take them off. Plus, I don't really need them anymore as a cat.", Haru spoke as she then took her torn clothes off.
A/N: Looks like both Meku and Meki's adventure is just beginning while Haru's transformation is progressing. Who knows what could happen now? I bet it'll be exciting. :)
