Disney's Frozen II: Rise of the Guardians

Chapter 4: The Enchanted Forest

The next morning, the group all travelled to the enchanted forest with Sven quickly pulling the sled while running as Smolder spoke up.

"Good thing this wood's fireproof.", Smolder grinned.

"Who's into trivia?", Olaf asked.

"I am.", Alexander responded as Cathrine giggled with Aksel squeaking as he hopped over to her shoulder and nudged against her cheek.

"Okay! Did you know that water has memory?", Olaf asked as they are now crossing the bridge near the mountains.

"Really?", Cathrine asked in surprise.

"True fact, it's disputed by many, but it's true.", Olaf spoke before it then faded to the ruby castle Anna used to live in.

"Did you know men are six more times more likely to be struck by lightning?", Olaf asked at that point.

"I don't see any lightning here.", Carter responded before it then faded to a similar road right next to the mountain, but in three different time frames with Smolder doing trivia this time.

"Did you know gorillas burp when they're happy? Did you know we blink four million times a day?", Smolder asked.

"How much longer…?", Matthew sighed.

"Did you know wombat's poop squares?", Smolder asked.

"Did you know that sleeping quietly on long journeys prevents insanity?", Elric asked in response as it then showed the sled going near a sort of pond on the left side of the road.

"No way! Really?", Smolder asked before then fading to show the sled walking up with big hills on the left and right sides later as the sun was starting to rise.

"Yeah, that's not true.", Olaf responded after laughing.

"It is.", Kristoff responded.

"It is definitely true.", Elsa responded.

"No, it's…it's the truth.", Anna responded.

"Wouldn't put it past them.", Lizzie agreed as the children nodded while Sven groaned in agreement.

"Well, that was unanimous. But I will look it up when we get home.", Olaf responded.

Later, Anna, Kristoff, Elsa, Olaf, Smolder, Matthew, Alexander, Carter, Emily, and Cathrine were asleep as Aksel slept gently on top of Cathrine's shoulder as well as only Elric and Lizzie were awake now.

"Looks like they're both asleep. So..., what do you wanna do?", Lizzie asked.

"Sven, can you keep us steady?", Elric asked before Sven agreed with Lizzie reaching in to kiss him when he then spoke up.

"Lizzie? Ahem! Uh, Lizzie, remember our first trip like this when I said Anna had to be crazy to want marry a man she just met?", Elric asked.

"Wait, what? Crazy? You don't think Anna's crazy, do you?", Lizzie asked.

"No, that's not what I meant. She was crazy, yes, but it's passed. If anything, she was actually kinda…new to love. Like I was, and, when you're new, you are bound to get it .. wrong.", Elric began.

"So you're saying, I'm wrong for you?", Lizzie asked.

"What? No, no, I'm not saying you're wrong, or crazy like Anna was, I'm saying…", Elric began before the voice sang out again, waking Anna, Elsa, Cathrine (as well as Aksel, mainly due to her sudden movement), Carter, Alexander, and Emily.

"Elric, stop, please.", Anna spoke up.

"Good call.", Elric responded.

"We heard it. It's that voice.", Cathrine spoke with a grin as she and the others got off, leaving only Olaf and Smolder.

"You do? Olaf, Smolder, wake up.", Lizzie spoke as the sled stopped and she got off said sled before heading over to Olaf and Smolder, who were just starting to wake up.

Sometime later, the group all arrived at a cliff and saw what appeared to be a wall of thick fog before Anna and Elsa ran down first with Cathrine, Alexander, Carter, and Emily going with them before stopping near the fog with Kristoff trying to get in first only to get bounced back a bit. Naturally, Olaf went in with a giddy smile and got bounced back before trying again and getting bounced back again likewise and kept doing so again and again until Anna and Elsa, stepped forward, reached in with their hands, and caused the fog to part to show the 4 stone pillars with each one representing an element.

"Wow.", Anna spoke in surprise.

"Promise me we do this together, okay?", Elric asked.

"I promise.", Anna responded.

"Me, too.", Elsa added before the group all entered the fog, which closed behind them with Sven groaning in concern.

"It's okay.", Sven assured.

"Did you know that the Enchanted Forest is a place of transformation?", Olaf asked.

"Really?", Emily asked in surprise.

"I have no idea what that means, but I can't wait to see what it's gonna do to each one of us.", Olaf spoke before some force in the fog then pushed the group forward in a faster pace.

"What is this?", Kristoff puzzled.

"No, stop! It's too fast!", Anna shouted before the force pushed them out of the foggy area before the fog rendered itself unable to be passed through again.

"What was that?", Kristoff puzzled.

"I have no idea.", Lizzie responded with Olaf bouncing himself again as Anna and Elsa tried using their powers, but it was no use as they were bounced back.

"And we're locked in. I wish I would've seen that one coming.", Anna commented before she and Elsa turned around away from the fog and saw the forest in its splendor.

"This forest is beautiful.", Elsa spoke.

"Huh?", Cathrine spoke as she, Alexander, Emily, and Carter turned and saw it as well.

"Oooh.", Olaf spoke.

"You're right. It is beautiful.", Smolder grinned as Cathrine grinned in awe.

"Look at all the trees.", Alexander grinned as Sven went to one and scratched himself happily while Lizzie and Elric arrived near the cliff and saw the dam.

"The Dam ... It's still standing. It was in GrandPabbie's visions, but why?", Elric pondered.

"I don't know, but it's still in good shape, thank goodness.", Lizzie responded.

"Tell me about it. If a dam that big broke apart, it would send a tidal wave so big, it would wash away everything on the fjord, and last I checked Arendelle is on that fjord. But it's not gonna happen. I'll make sure that Arendelle and all other lands or kingdoms stay safe.", Elric assured before Lizzie hugged him.

Meanwhile, Olaf was wandering around the forest with only Smolder, Alexander, Carter, Cathrine, and Emily accompanying him in the vast landscape.

"Umm, Anna? Elsa? Sven?", Olaf spoke up.

"Mommy! Daddy!", Cathrine shouted.

"Where could they have gone?", Carter asked.

"Maybe we got split up somehow.", Smolder responded.

"Samantha? I don't even know who's Samantha! ", Olaf cackled as he then fell backwards into a pile of leaves only to get blown back up as a sort of wind blew around him, taking the leaves with it as Cathrine noticed much to her surprise.

"Are you okay, Olaf?", Cathrine asked.

"Um…, I think so.", Olaf responded as he continued walking only for the pile to fall on top of Olaf, making Smolder giggle a bit, trying not to laugh.

"That's normal...", Olaf spoke before a rock landed near Olaf, making him trip with a small geyser blowing out just enough to help Olaf get back up.

"Okay. I don't think it was normal.", Emily spoke before the same wind spirit from earlier, seen only be leaves, blew past Olaf and the others.

"Huh?", Cathrine puzzled before eventually, the same spirit moved behind the group.

"What was that?", Olaf puzzled before a pile of leaves gave out, revealing a deep, circular hole, making him and the others gasp with Olaf peering in.

"Samantha?", Olaf puzzled.

"Silly, little snowman. There isn't a Samantha here. At least one we know of, anyway.", Alexander responded before Olaf began singing as a small pink flame arrived on the tree, strangely not setting any fire on the branch so much as jumping off it in favor of another, and back and forth, even, much to the group's wonder as Emily looked on with twice as much awe as they then turned back around and went forward, not knowing that the small flame then got off the trees and zig-zagged across the ground.

Olaf: This will all make sense when I am older.

Someday I will see that this makes sense.

One day, when I'm old and wise,

I'll think back and realize,

That these were all completely normal events.

Right at that moment, though, the same spirit dashed underneath the little snowman, catching him quite by surprise as well as the others as they moved back suddenly in surprise with Cathrine and the other 3 getting it together quickly before Alexander and Carter sang next as they then went toward an apparent dark part of the forest with thorns and dark skies with Olaf's shadow resembling a sort of monster for a moment before going back to normal as Olaf and the others continued only to be met with several red eyes and a set of fangs in the darkness before they started off.

Alexander: We'll have all the answers when we're older,

Like why we're in these dark enchanted woods.

Smolder: I know in a couple of years,

these will seem like childish fears.

And so we know this isn't bad, it's good.

"Excuse us.", Olaf spoke as he and the others then cautiously left before then going to a nearby pond as a boulder rolled past and behind the group with Emily and Cathrine singing next.

Emily: Growing up means adapting,

Puzzling out your world and your place.

Cathrine: When we're more mature, we'll feel comfortably secure,

being watched by something with a creepy, creepy face...

But unfortunately, they didn't count on seeing what appeared to be a horse made of water with glowing blue eyes inside the pond just before Olaf ran off, screaming like crazy.

"Olaf!", Smolder shouted before she, Cathrine, Alexander, Emily, and Carter all ran as best they could to catch up to Olaf, evading the boulders, small pink flame, and geysers, but not the wind spirit as it blew past them, causing Olaf to fall into the big footprint with only Smolder and the children managing to stop themselves before they could fall in with Olaf then putting himself back together after falling in and then getting out to join the others as Olaf and Smolder sang before they all sang, not knowing that the spirit was blowing around the leaves, forming a tornado before it quickly took off.

Olaf: See, that will all make sense when we're older,

Smolder: So, there's no need to be terrified or tense.

All: We'll just dream about a time,

When we're in our age of prime.

'Cause when you're older,

Absolutely, everything makes sense!

Olaf: This is fine.

At that moment, the same tornado sucked Cathrine in, making her exclaim in surprise with a yelp.

"Cathy?", Carter puzzled just as Anna, Elsa, Lizzie, Matthew, Kristoff, and Sven arrived.

"Mom!", Cathrine shouted.

"Cathrine!", Anna shouted.

"Come quick! I got…! …sucked in!", Cathrine shouted as her head popped out a few times while being uncontrollably spun before Alexander gasped in realization.

"Be careful! There's a chance we could all get…!", Alexander warned only for the tornado to go toward the others and suck them all in, including Sven.

"Sucked in… Of course.", Alexander finished.

"Hey, guys, meet the wind spirit!", Olaf greeted while Cathrine laughed, uncontrollably spinning.

"Coming through!", Kristoff shouted, passing with the wind.

"Same here!", Elric added while doing so as well, but while lurching off in another direction as Cathrine giggled a bit.

"Oh, I think I'm gonna be sick!", Anna groaned before covering her mouth.

"Speak for yourself…", Lizzie groaned before covering hers as well.

"I'd hold your hair back, but I can't find my arms!", Olaf responded before Kristoff ran into Sven with the roles reversed with Sven on top of Kristoff, who ran on all fours before Elsa noticed a branch about to hit Anna and managed to deflect it off, only for the Wind Spirit to play with her hands quite vigorously.

"Hey! Stop.", Elsa spoke before the wind spirit then released Anna, Kristoff, Lizzie, Elric, Sven, Matthew, Olaf, Smolder, Alexander, Emily, and Carter as they fell out the tornado, which then turned into a ball made of wind with Cathrine and Elsa still trapped inside while Olaf was still spinning, but now back together.

"Elsa! Cathrine!", Anna shouted as the two in question spun around until the latter then spoke up.

"I think I have an idea!", Cathrine urged.

"Let them go!", Anna shouted just before the wind started to slow down in its current direction, although not very much.

"Now!", Cathrine shouted before Elsa then fired her ice magic at the wind spirit, causing the wind to glow blue.

"Anna, be careful!", Kristoff shouted.

"We have no idea what could happen!", Elric added.

"That's my sister! And my daughter!", Anna shouted in response.

Meanwhile, inside the dome, the two saw memories from inside the dome of wind and saw a young boy and girl playing together before someone alerted the latter.

"Prince Agnarr!", someone shouted before it then showed someone slashing downward with the sword before then showing the face of a stern man.

'For Arendelle…", the man spoke before more memories echoed up until Elsa finally caused the dome to collapse with fog clearing away as it now showed 9 ice figures on the ground encircling Elsa and Cathrine, but not too close to each other, much less too close to them with Anna then going to comfort Elsa and Cathrine.

"Are you ok?", Anna asked.

"Mm-hmm.", Cathrine nodded sweetly.

"I'm fine.", Elsa responded before Kristoff, Lizzie, and Elric noticed the statues, mesmerized by them, in fact.

"What are these?", Kristoff asked.

"They look like moments in time.", Elsa responded while going up to an ice statue of a horse.

"What's that thing you say, Olaf?", Anna asked.

"Oh, my theory about advanced technology is both our savior and our doom?", Olaf asked.

"No, not that one, the one about...", Anna began as Cathrine began to realize what Anna was going for.

"The one about cucumbers?", Olaf asked.

"No, I don't think that's it, either.", Smolder responded.

"It's the thing about water!", Cathrine realized.

"Oh! Yeah. Water has memory. The water that makes up you and me has passed through at least 4 humans and or animals before us.", Olaf responded before Sven, having overheard this, spat the water he was drinking out.

"And remembers everything.", Olaf responded just before the tamed Wind Spirit came along, lifted Sven up, and set him down gently before then spinning around Olaf and Smodler.

"The wind's back! Whoa! Delicious.", Olaf grinned giddily after being spun with the wind then spinning around Cathrine, making her laugh.

"You're fun. Oh… How about I name you Gale? You like that?", Cathrine asked as it then lifted her up in the air playfully, making her laugh.

"Okay. Gale it is.", Cathrine grinned as she was then being set down into the ground with "Gale" then heading toward Kristoff, blowing across him, even getting into his outfit.

"Whoa! Get outta there.", Kristoff spoke before Gale then blew away from him and then went over to Anna.

"Oh, hi. Aren't you curious?", Anna grinned before Gale then blew past her, went behind her, and then scooped the lower part of her dress to go right on top of her before then spinning around Elsa.

"You're in a better mood now?", Elsa asked before the wind spirit then guided her and the others to the Ice statue of Anna and Elsa's father and a young girl when they were kids.

"Father. It's father!", Anna grinned.

"Grandpa…", Emily spoke in awe.

"This girl...", Elsa spoke next.

"She's saving him.", Olaf spoke.

"Who is she?", Smolder asked in wonder.

"She's Northuldra.", Krisoff spoke in surprise before a horn blew.

"What is that?", Anna asked.

"Heck if I know.", Elric responded.

"Olaf, get behind me.", Elsa urged.

"You, too, Smolder.", Anna warned before Lizzie then pulled out a sword from one of the ice statues.

"What are you gonna do with that?", Kristoff asked.

"I have no idea.", Lizzie responded.

After a moment of scurrying, Lizzie couldn't wait anymore before then slashing at the bush, revealing what appeared to be a tribe of people, aiming to attack her and the others.

"Okay, maybe that was a mistake.", Lizzie squeaked a bit as the tribe and an apparent army of soldiers on the other side confront each other.

"Lower your weapon.", a woman warned before the army bashed their swords against their shields twice.

"And you lower yours!", a man from the other side responded.

"Arandellian Soldiers?", Lizzie puzzled.

"Threatening my people, Lieutenant?", a woman from the tribe asked.

"Invading my dance space, Yelena?", the lieutenant asked.

"Why does that soldier look so familiar?", Lizzie puzzled.

"No, no, no, no, no, don't!", Matthew warned as Lizzie inadvertently pointed the blade toward the lieutenant.

"Lieutenant!", one of the arendellian soldiers shouted.

"Get the sword!", the lieuntenat shouted before his army as well as the tribe, all dashed toward Anna, Elsa, Lizzie, Elric, Matthew, Cathrine, Emily, Alexander, Carter, Kristoff, and Sven, urging the former 2 to use their magic powers to knock everyone back with Elsa covering the ground in ice but not before Anna knocked them all back with a flaming heatwave, albeit a warm one, at the least, sending them sliding back.

"That was magic. Did you see that?", the lieutenant asked.

"Of course, I saw it.", Yelena responded while scooting a bit away from him.

"Well, you certainly chose an ice cold greeting...", Elric spoke.

"That is enough. There won't be anymore fighting here.", a familiar voice spoke up before everyone all turned to see something that Anna, Elsa, and the others hadn't expected to see: Agnarr, Iduna, and Runeard.

"Mom…?!", Anna spoke in shock.

"Dad…?", Elsa added in surprise.

"Grandpa, too…?", Elric added in surprise.

Nevertheless, the 3 were quite surprised as well.

"Anna…? Elsa…?", Iduna spoke in equal awe.

"Elric…?", Agnarr added.

"You're alive…! You're alive!", Elric shouted before he, Anna, and Elsa ran toward their parents and hugged them tightly while shedding happy tears.

"I thought we lost you!", Anna sobbed.

"Anna. Elsa. And Elric, too. It's awfully good to see you three again, children.", Agnarr grinned as Cathrine, Emily, Alexander, and Carter gave looks of surprise.

"'Children'? But that means…", Runeard began.

"That's right. They're your grandchildren.", Iduna responded.

"And I'm… a grandfather… I'm a grandfather!", Runeard realized happily.

"Actually, you're a great grandfather. Our great grandfather, even.", Alexander pointed out, gesturing to himself, Cathrine, Emily, and Carter.

"A great grandfather? Why, that's even better.", Runeard grinned.

"They've been trapped in here this whole time?", Kristoff asked in puzzlement.

"You all had kids?", Agnarr grinned.

"Yeah, Dad. And there are our kids. Cathrine, Alexander, Emily, and Carter.", Anna introduced.

"Hello.", the children greeted.

"Aw. Hello there, little ones.", Iduna greeted warmly, making Cathrine giggle a bit upon gently touching her nose.

"I never thought we'd get to see you all here.", Agnarr spoke.

"Me neither.", Anna responded.

"So, what now?", Elric asked.

"I got this. Hi! I'm Olaf.", Olaf greeted.

"Olaf?", Agnarr asked.

"Yeah, let's just say a lot happened.", Anna responded.

"Bet the rest of you are wondering who we are and why we are here. It's really quite simple.", Olaf spoke before narrating as Elric and Anna gave a glare with one eyebrow raised for each of them as Olaf continued before using quotes while acting as them.

"It began with three siblings. Two born with magical powers, one born powerless. Their love of snowmen, infinite. 'Elsa, Elric, no! Too high!' Blast! 'Ow, Mama, Papa, help!' Slam! Doors shutting everywhere, sisters torn apart! Well, at least they have their parents. Their parents are dead. 'Oh, I am Anna, I wanna marry a man I just met!' Anna's gonna blow, fire, brimstone, ah, run! Ah, but wait! 'I am Elsa, and I have…ice powers?' Magic pulses through my snowflakes.", Olaf narrated before gasping has he sat up.

"Smolder and I live! 'Ruby palace for one, ruby palace for one!" "Get out, Elsa!" (Shooting sounds) 'My heart!'", Olaf narrated, making Iduna, Agnarr, and Runeard gasp.

"Oh, my goodness!", the lieutenant spoke before it showed Olaf pretending to be Grand Pabbie and Hans.

"'Only an act of true love can save you.' 'Here's a true love's kiss...' 'You're not worth it.'", Olaf spoke while pushing Sven away and also "stabbing" at Smolder, who is pretending to be Elric.

"I should've known you'd do that…", Smolder groaned.

"'That's right. I'm the bad guy!'", Olaf responded.

"What?!", the lieutenant reacted.

"And Elsa burns to death, forever.", Olaf spoke while pretending to be Elsa from when she turned to solid ruby and uttered his 'final breath'.

"Oh, Elsa!", the lieutenant spoke sadly.

"Then, she cools off. Oh, and then Anna and Elsa woke up the magical spirits and their kids got magical powers of their own, and we were forced out from our kingdom. Now our only hope is to find the truth about the past, but we don't have a clue how to do that. Except Anna, Elsa, and their kids're hearing voices, so we got that going for us. Any questions?", Olaf asked before the crowd only stared blankly.

"Olaf, I think they got it.", smolder spoke.

"So, you mean to say that…magic did this?", Runeard spoke uneasily.

"Not exactly. We were brought here because we need to find out the real truth about what happened. It may be the only way to right whatever wrong happened here in the best way we know.", Alexander responded.

"I see… We'll talk more later.", Runeard spoke before walking out, puzzling Agnarr and Iduna.

"He may be my grandpa, but that old man looks scary.", Cathrine commented as Elsa thawed the icy ground.

A/N: And it looks like we not only get to see Anna, Elsa, and Elric reunite with their parents and see their grandfather for the first time, but also see a little foreshadowing for what is going to happen sooner or later in the story.
