A/N: And here, we have Anna and Elsa travelling across the dark sea together this time around. :)

Disney's Frozen II: Rise of the Guardians

Chapter 8: "Show Yourself"; The Truth Revealed

Meanwhile, Anna and Elsa were in front of the dark sea's oceans before they eventually set out across the waters, although, not before removing their jackets and boots. Of course, there was still much difficulty even with their powers as when they took their first steps across the water, they wound up washed back into shore before trying again, now wet. This time, they dove through the wave and got onto a rock before then sliding down the rock and then blasting the wave to clear a path, which could not last for long before it crumbled, sending them to the water where they met Nokk, the very same spirit that saved their parents years ago. But not long after, the same spirit disappeared with Anna and Elsa then swimming upwards up to the surface only to notice the water spirit dashing toward them from below before Elsa then made a snow flake that they can rest on only for Nokk to push the two girls up into the air before plummeting into the water and emerging up into the surface and noticing the water spirit in the waves, shown only by lightning. However, it was only a matter of time before Nokk then pounced on Anna and Elsa with a trot, propelling them into the water again, and this time, pushing them down only for Elsa to freeze the water spirit, encasing it in ice before it then disappeared again with the two sisters swimming back up to the surface only to get launched up again. Then, the next time, Elsa then erected an ice platform on the water to collapse on Nokk with Elsa then firing an ice blast in the form of a big snowflake on Nokk only for it to break apart as Nokk ran through it and grabbed her wrist with his mouth, dragging her and Anna with it as the latter held onto his sister, who then created a rope made of ice and then used it as reins to tame him with Anna on the ocean.

"Elsa!", Anna shouted as Elsa then did all she could to hold on and eventually…, she succeeded as she held on, came back for Anna and picked her up as Elsa rode Nokk onto the waves.

"We did it, Elsa.", Anna grinned before she and Elsa then looked up ahead to see an island made of ice.

"Of course..! Glaciers are rivers of ice!", Elsa realized.

"Ahtohallan is frozen...", Anna added before the same voice from before vocalized again as the two got closer.

"We hear you, and we're coming...", Elsa spoke before they then got closer to the island and eventually arrived at Ahtohallan as Nokk stopped.

Elsa: Every inch of me is trembling

But not from the cold

Anna: Something is familiar

Like a dream I can reach but not quite hold

Elsa: We can sense you there

Like a friend we've always known

Anna: We're arriving

And it feels like we are home

Then, the two ventured inside the big island of ice before entering a dark area, which lit up as four lights shone near the entrance to another area (2 on one side and 2 on another) before then going through said entrance, urging Anna and Elsa to then venture forward before then sliding down the floor and then creating pillars as she jumped off to make it across toward another area, the end of which was blocked by fallen crystals, which were then erected back up by Anna and Elsa, with the other fallen crystals eventually erected back up as well before the entrance covering the other area then burst into tiny, floating crystals that glow before then forming the 4 crystals with each representing an element: Wind, Fire, Earth, and Air before the four crystals then circled around each other and then gently went toward the holes with Anna and Elsa stepping toward the center, causing the snowflake edges to appear around the four elements, completing the symbol.

Elsa: I have always been a fortress

Cold secrets deep inside

Anna: You have secrets, too

But you don't have to hide

Anna & Elsa: Show yourself

we're dying to meet you

Show yourself

It's your turn

Are you the one we've been looking for

All of our lives?

Show yourself

We're ready to learn

Ah-ah, ah-ah

(Siren)

Ah-ah, ah-ah-ah

Anna: I've never felt so certain

All my life I've been torn

But I'm here for a reason

Could it be the reason I was born?

Elsa: I have always been so different

Normal rules did not apply

Is this the day?

Are you the way

we finally find out why?

Anna & Elsa: Show yourself

we're no longer trembling

Here we are

we've come so far

You are the answer I've waited for

All of our lives

Oh, show yourself

Let us see who you are

Come to us now

Open your door

Don't make us wait

One moment more

Oh, come to us now

Open your door

Don't make us wait

One moment more

Then, the center of the snowflake emitted a bright beacon with the two inside it before the light then zoomed up past them and then exploded with magic, revealing past memories of Iduna before the two sisters turned and noticed Iduna on the domed wall.

Choir & Iduna: Where the north wind meets the sea

(Ah-ah, ah-ah)

There's a river

(Ah-ah, ah-ah)

Full of memory (Memory, memory)

"Mother…", Elsa spoke in weeping joy as Anna gasped in surprise before the two then stepped on the center of the snowflake again, this time with the lights circling toward their dresses as they sang, even swirling magical smoke around them, before taking a big step forward, but not before Iduna, or rather, her memory, spoke to Anna.

Iduna: Come, my darlings, homeward bound

Anna and Elsa: We are found

Anna, Elsa, & Iduna)

Show yourself

Step into the power

Grow yourself

Into something new

Iduna: You are the ones you've been waiting for

Anna & Elsa: All of our lives (All of your life)

Oh, show yourself

Anna, Elsa, &Choir: Ah-ah, ah-ah

Ah-ah, ah-ah

Ah-ah, ah-ah

Ah-ah, ah-ah

Ah-ah, ah-ah

Ah-ah, ah-ah

"Anna…, Elsa…, You two just follow your hearts…, and be who you truly are.", Iduna responded, making the former shed tears in joy as well before she gladly wiped them.

"We will, Mother. We will.", Anna assured before taking said big step toward the big snowflake, clearing away the smoke, and revealing their memories from random areas.

"Elsa, look at this.", Anna grinned, pointing to a certain childhood memory.

But it wasn't just any childhood memory. It was the one where the two not only built a snowman, but also a cute little snow gerbil to go with him as the small snow creature was formed with tiny coals for its cute eyes.

After they finished building them, Elsa then gently placed Aksel on the snowman's head and moved the snowman's stick arms around.

"'Hi, I'm Olaf and I like warm hugs.'", Young Elsa quoted before Anna rushed over and hugged him.

"I love you, Olaf.", Young Anna spoke as she hugged him.

"Aw…", the present Anna spoke, in awe over this joyous moment before the accident as well as noticing her younger self skating as well as her teaching Elsa to skate.

"Come on, you can do it, Elsa!", Anna grinned, that is, until she noticed a memory of when she first moved into the North Mountain on her own and cringed at how loud she sang, albeit in a playful way, before then passing by the duke of weselton, or rather his memory as he danced around the way she remembered.

"Like a chicken with the face of a monkey...I fly!", the Duke spoke before the duo then noticed past Elsa meeting Matthew.

"Oh, my goodness. I am so sorry, your majesty. I wasn't looking where I was going.", the servant apologized.

"No, you don't have to apologize. I wasn't looking where I was going.", Elsa assured.

"Are you sure, because I...", the servant began.

"Yes, I'm sure. I know it was an accident, but we are both at fault here.", Elsa assured.

"Oh, what a relief.", the servant sighed in relief.

"Is that how you met him?", Anna asked with her usual grin.

"Well, not exactly, but…", Elsa responded before she and Anna then noticed their parents speaking with each other.

"I love you.", Agnarr spoke/

"I need to tell you about my past. And where I'm from?", Iduna urged.

"I'm listening.", Agnarr assured before the two then arrived at a spot where their younger selves were as Iduna hung from the tree.

"Iduna!", Agnarr spoke.

"What are you reading, your Majesty?", Iduna asked.

"Just some new Danish author.", Agnarr responded before the two sisters then saw Iduna saving an unconscious Agnarr and then a young Iduna being hid by Gale before overhearing

"King Runeard, I'm sorry, I don't understand.", one of Runeard's guards spoke.

"Grandfather…", Anna spoke.

"We bring Arendelle's full guard.", Runeard spoke.

"But they have given us no reason not to trust them.", the guard puzzled.

"The Northuldra follow magic which means we can never trust them.", Agnarr responded.

"Grandfather?", Elsa puzzled.

"Magic makes people feel too powerful. Too entitled, it makes them think they can defy the will of a king.", Runeard explained.

"That is not what magic does. That's just your fear.", Elsa spoke.

"Fear is what can't be trusted.", Anna added before King Runeard and the guard disappeared through the wall, prompting Elsa to open it with their magic and follow them down a dark tunnel with Anna doing the same.

"You see, the Dam will weaken their lands, so they will have to turn to me.", Runeard responded before Iduna's echoing song then sounded.

"…and a path for you, dive down deep into her sound...", Iduna's voice sang before Anna and Elsa stopped at the edge of the path where far down below laid the Well of Ahtohallan, the deepest part of the glacier.

"...but not too far or you'll be drowned.", Iduna's voice finished.

"They will come in celebrations, and then, we will know their size and strength.", Runeard spoke before his voice then spoke up again as it then changed to another memory with Anna and Elsa looking on, staring down from the last safe area.

"As you have welcomed us, we welcome you. Our neighbors, our friends.", Runeard spoke as Anna and Elsa both hesitate for a moment.

"Oh, I can't believe we're about to do this, but…", Anna spoke before she and Elsa took a leap of faith and jumped off the path before landing into a memory set in a peaceful, beautiful forest which surrounded them.

But no sooner had they done so that they started shivering and breathing mist with the two looking at their hands only to notice icy snowflakes starting to form over them. It was clear now that they're going too far. But then, another part of the memory caught their attention as the pure white, icy snowflakes spread across their bodies.

"King Runeard, the Dam isn't strengthening our waters, it's hurting the forest! It's cutting off the North-!", the Northuldra leader urged.

"Let... Let's not discuss this here. Let's, meet on the fjord. Have tea, Find a solution.", Runeard interrupted before the memory stopped as both Anna and Elsa's hair changed from each of their normal color to pure white with the snowflakes even covering their faces as well.

The two looked around as they got colder and colder until they say the Northuldra leader kneeling with only a cup in his hands, preparing to take a drink when Runeard slowly approached him from behind, unsheathing his sword as if to attack as Anna and Elsa looked to their right to notice just in time to see Runeard making a run toward the leader.

"No!", Anna shouted as she and Elsa tried to move forward out of disbelief only to find that they couldn't before they noticed that their legs are frozen to the floor by rising, dark blue ice, which is rapidly spreading up to the rest of their bodies!

With quick-thinking, though, Anna had then started using her own fire powers to delay the spread on their bodies (but mostly Elsa's) as it slowed down to a great degree.

"Anna? What are you doing?", Elsa asked.

"Buying you some time. I know you can get the truth out to everyone and make things right.", Anna assured.

"But what about you?", Elsa asked as the dark blue ice that had already spread was starting to thaw out as well.

"I'll be fine. Just go!", Anna urged before lifting her up into the area where she and Elsa jumped off.

"No, no, no, no, stop! Anna, please stop! ANNNNNNNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAA!", Elsa shouted before she was finally brought up to the top with Anna giving a sad smile as the ice spread past her torso.

"Elric…, it's up to you now.", Anna spoke before the ice finally covered her completely.

"ANNA!", Elsa shouted before she ran back to the edge and then looked down and saw the frozen Anna in horror and disbelief.

"Oh, Anna. No… no, please, no.", Elsa spoke, starting to weep as she sank down, although thankfully not on the deep end like last time.

"Oh, Anna…!", Elsa sobbed.

After a moment, Elsa then took a deep breath, wiped away her tears, and knew right then that something has to be done to make sure Anna didn't sacrifice herself in vain.

"I will set things right.", Elsa spoke determinedly before setting off outside the island with Nokk appearing before Elsa made an Ice blast and launched it up at the sky, leaving a trail of icy mist like a comet.

"Come on. Let's go back.", Elsa spoke as she got on top of Nokk, who snorted in agreement before she and Nokk then made another trek across the water; this time to get back.

Meanwhile, Olaf and Smolder had their thoughts.

"Which blacky tunnel do we choose?", Olaf puzzled.

"Does it matter?", Smolder puzzled.

Then, all of a sudden, a mist of snow and ice came by from one of the passages and then formed an ice statue of Runeard preparing to attack the Northuldra leader, who was unarmed.

"You see, the Dam will weaken their lands. So, they will have to turn to me.", Runeard's voice spoke.

"King Runeard, the Dam is hurting the forest!", the Northuldra leader added as the statue then finished, making Elric gasp in shock as well as Agnarr and Iduna while puzzling everyone else.

"Anna and Elsa found it…", Elric spoke.

"What is it?", Olaf asked.

"The truth about the past…", Elric responded.

"Father…? He deliberately attacked the Northuldra leader who wielded no weapon?", Agnarr asked in shock.

"That means… the Dam wasn't a gift of peace. It was a trick all along.", Iduna realized in shock and a hint of anger over the fact that Runeard di this for no good reason at all.

"I knew that guy was scary.", Cathrine commented.

"But that goes against everything Arendelle stands for.", Smolder commented.

"It does, doesn't it? I know what we have to do to free the forest now. To set things right…", Elric spoke determinedly.

"Why do you say that so sadly?", Olaf asked as Aksel squeaked in puzzlement.

"As much as it pains me to say this…, the Dam has to go.", Elric responded.

"What? But Arendelle will be flooded. And besides, didn't you say once that it's not going to happen on your watch?", Lizzie asked.

"That was before we knew the truth that Elsa and Anna sent for us. Besides…, that must've been why everyone was forced out. To protect them from what has to be done.", Elric responded in realization.

"Oh.", Olaf responded.

"Are you okay?", Smolder asked as Aksel squeaked in worry.

"Well, it's just that…with everything that's happened up to now, we could all really use a bright side right about now.", Lizzie responded.

"The bright side? Um…, turtles can breathe through their butts?", Olaf responded.

"Wait, what?", Elric puzzled.

"And I see a way out.", Olaf responded, gesturing to it.

"Thanks, Olaf. I knew we can count on you.", Lizzie grinned just before Smolder started to get a slight headache.

"Come on, now. Elsa's probably on her way back right now. We can meet her there and…", Elric began before suddenly noticing Elsa in front of him and barely stopping in surprise so as to not bump into her.

"Oh, Elsa! There you are. We were just going to go meet up with you.", Elric spoke before noticing how dismal Elsa looked.

"What's wrong?", Elric asked.

"It's Anna… She…", Elsa began.

"Anna? What happened to her?", Elric asked before Lizzie noticed Smolder starting to give off more embers than usual.

"Smolder… Are you okay?", Lizzie asked.

"I'm dimming? Wait, no, that's not it. I'm burning out... The magic in me is…fading.", Smolder spoke.

"What?", Elric spoke in worry.

"I don't think Anna's okay.", Smolder spoke before Elric and Lizzie gasped as Elsa only closed her eyes sadly in confirmation.

"I think... She may have gone too far.", Smolder guessed.

"It was the only way to get the truth. She even saved me before freezing to death.", Elsa responded, disheartening the others.

"No. No….!", Elric spoke in worry.

"But you can't go away, Smolder. You just can't!", Cathrine spoke sadly.

"Guys…, I'm sorry. You're gonna have to do this next part on your own Okay?", Smolder asked as Cathrine started to cry for her.

"Hold on, come here. I've got you.", Elric assured as he brought Cathrine and the 3 children closer to Smolder, trying not to burn himself as he then held onto Smolder afterwards as carefully as he could.

"That's good.", Smolder grinned.

"Hey, Smolder. I just thought of one thing that's permanent.", Olaf spoke.

"What's that?", Smolder puzzled.

"Love.", Olaf responded.

"Like warm hugs?", Cathrine asked, sniffling as she then hugged Smolder.

"I like warm hugs.", Smolder responded.

"Me, too…", Olaf responded sadly.

"We all do.", Agnarr spoke before he, Iduna, and the others joined Cathrine in the hug.

"I love you…", Cathrine sobbed while shedding tears before said embers then flew out the hole of the cave just as Burni noticed and then turned in a circle once before laying down as it then looked up at the embers and then down sadly before the embers then went to a different part of the forest and then formed into ashes.

A/N: Don't worry. Sad as things are now, Elsa's not going to let her sister's sacrifice be in vain. And one way or another, there's going to be a big storm coming this time around. And you know what that means…
