The weather here was nice. At the very least it wasn't the oppressive muggy conditions back home. For that Masamune was grateful that this village was landlocked, the air was dry and that was something to be grateful for. The people were friendly enough, so to speak, as they weren't glaring at him or anything like that. Well it's not like he receives looks like that anymore back home but it was still a nice change of pace. He was getting more positive reactions though, probably due to his looks, his Dad did always tell him that he got his good looks from his Mom. Other than the weather being nicer during the Summer it felt strange not being near water or hearing the sound of waves crashing against sandy beaches but that was something he would have to become accustomed to since he would be staying here until the foreseeable future. Since he would be staying here he needed groceries and possibly one or two more scrolls to make his backpack not slow him down as much in his travels. With all of those things in his pack it was kinda making his back uncomfortable so those scrolls would be needed. Other than that he wasn't going to need much else besides a tour of the place and some food in his stomach. Unfortunately for his stomach he had no idea where to go to find food so he just wandered around the village but thankfully he did smell something amazing in the air. It was cinnamon. Maybe there was a bakery nearby? If there was then he had no choice but to follow his nose and after a few twists and turns he managed to find the source of that smell. It was in fact a bakery, a very modest one at that but the smell was so good that he had to go inside and buy something! He was about to take a step forward to open the door when the door opened from the inside and he almost ended up colliding with a girl on her way out. Thankfully he managed to move out of the way but it was a close call.

"Oh! I-I'm s-sorry! I d-d-didn't see you there!"

It was a girl around his age with long hair, that was blue? He couldn't really tell if it was blue or black or something in between. He didn't think he could tolerate having that much hair.

"Don't apologize I was too busy being distracted. I should have moved out of the way sooner. I'm Masamune Honemi and I recently arrived here so to be honest I'm kinda lost. Maybe you could help me out, Miss…"

He trailed off since he didn't know anything about this girl other than the fact that she stuttered.

"I'm sorry. My name is Hinata Hyuga. I...I can give you a tour."

She seemed like the shy type, it was a good enough guess with how she was acting at the current moment. She was a Hyuga, she therefore must have the Byakugan, so at least what Ao said during one of his drunk ramblings was actually true. Her eyes were unmistakably white, though there was a subtle tinge of lavender in them, and a little unsettling. If he didn't know any better he would have assumed she was blind.

"Thank you. I don't want to make you waste too much of your time Hinata. Once I buy my bread could we have that tour?"

"Um...yes of course."
With a quick nod he went into the bakery to buy himself some bread. It wasn't too much, just enough for him to have something to eat for now and the rest of the week. They all had some kind of chocolate either inside or outside and for now he was content to eat one of the sweet things so that he could ignore the mild discomfort of hunger. Once he devoured the particular instance of bread he stopped himself from eating the rest and just held onto the bag that they were placed in. Stepping out of the bakery he looked at Hinata and gave her a curt nod to let her know that he was ready for that tour.

"I guess you like chocolate?"

He couldn't have nodded more enthusiastically but he was no longer starving, for now.

"Yes I love it! It's something that's very common in the Land of Water, where I'm from. I'm surprised that the bread that I bought was so much more expensive than the other items for sale but I guess that makes sense given how it's probably something that you don't get a lot of over here. Anyway I hope you don't mind taking me on that tour?"

With a bit of a smile Hinata ended up taking Masamune on a tour. Now she had an explanation as to why he was lost. He wasn't from here so of course he wouldn't know where to go. On this tour the young lady showed where to go if he wanted to eat somewhere, like restaurants for example and other small establishments that sell food that is more akin to snacks like dango. There were shops that she took him to, if he ever wanted groceries or more specific things like furniture, utensils and other such things. During the tour he actually decided to buy a small notebook, the kind that could easily fit in a person's pocket along with a pencil, so that he could jot down the general directions of where to go with the Hokage building being used as the point of reference. After the shops and restaurants the two young adults eventually had to part ways, Hinata had other things on her schedule but considering the directions he wrote down he had the gist of where to go.

"Well thanks for the tour Hinata. This was very helpful. Maybe we'll see each other around?"

"C-Certainly! This was fun. I hope to see you again soon Masmune."

With a nod of acknowledgement Masamune and Hinata parted ways. Since he had a general idea of where he needed to go to buy things he first went back to his apartment to put the bread that he purchased away for later consumption. Then we went out to furnish his apartment to make it seem more lived in, as opposed to its almost ghostly vibe that it gave off when he first stepped foot into it. With the furnishings done Masamune looked outside and noticed that the sun was already past its direct place above his head. He spent the entirety of his morning getting his apartment ready. Well since his apartment was all set to go the only thing that needed to be done was to have lunch, find a secluded place to train, and find out more regarding the real self-imposed purpose behind this mission. He had to do this right and the only way to do this right was to be patient. If he rushed into things before he earned the trust of Tsunade then this whole thing would blow up in his face.

Well, first things first, lunch. Since he knew where to go if he wanted to eat somewhere he just followed the directions he wrote down to find the area of the village where all of the restaurants were located. It smelled wonderful here. He ended up settling on a small ramen place and getting a bowl of Shio Ramen with an extra helping of fish. It was nothing short of amazing! With his meal paid for, he was gonna find another ramen place in this village to compare this small restaurant to,

Masamune now needed to find a place to train. He was still a shinobi and vacation or no vacation he wasn't going to allow himself to get lazy. While he had no idea where to go he figured that just the act of looking for a secluded spot would take a long time, so at the bare minimum he was going to get a good walk out of it. If he did find a good spot to train he was going to take note of its location so that he wouldn't get lost in this place searching for it again. Thankfully he did find a spot that would meet his training regiments requirements, it was near a body of water most likely a river, so he could use that for swimming and for chakra control training. It was spacious here and there were some wooden poles that he could use for aiming practice with his shuriken, since he wasn't good with those little things. For now he was just going to focus on Taijutsu training since he didn't bring any weapons with him.

Looking at the battered training logs in front of him he figured that this was going to be a long afternoon.

The sun was beginning to set when he finished his training, though it lacked it's normal intensity. The chilly air was his reminder to stop, there would be no point in training if it ended up getting him sick. There would be time for swimming the next time he came here, whenever that happened. For now he was heading back to his apartment.

A few days had passed and he had furnished his apartment with some knickknacks and tableware. It looked nice, well more like nicer than it did when he first arrived but still it looked cozy. It wasn't as cozy as his home because unlike there his parents weren't around, and none of the family photos were either. Loneliness was a factor too, he didn't have any friends here, nor his old teammates as well. He had struck up a conversation with a blonde girl named Ino, it was when he was buying things to put in his apartment during his stay here to make it look the way it did now, and she had mentioned that she could help him find lots of friends. He didn't believe her but he gave her the benefit of the doubt since she seemed like she was being sincere. He had bought some Hibiscus flowers from her and had placed them in a vase that was now sitting on his dining table.

His thoughts were interrupted by a knock which was strange. Making his way over to the door to check who it was he saw that a little slip of paper. It was a summons. He had a mission to do.

Author's Note: Alrighty then this is chapter 2. Woo! I'm going to be changing the format of how I write this out. It feels a little too...blocky? Hopefully those of you that actually read this understand what I'm talking about. But anyway Masamune is about to get his first mission. It'll certainly be a bit of a shock to any Leaf Ninja that he's teamed up with. Maybe it will be Ino, maybe it will be somebody else? Oh but just to clear up a minor detail he arrived during Naruto's mission to save Gaara so that's why Team and Team Guy aren't around. Until next time!
