Hello everyone!
Much to everyone's disappointment, this is not a new chapter, however, I wanted to say that I do have every intention of continuing this story! I've noticed a few reviews lately that have been asking about this, and have also received a few messages as well. While it has been a couple of years (yikes), I've still been thinking of this story and ways to move it forward.
The good news: I've rewritten the first five chapters from nearly the ground up, and I've finally figured out a solid direction for the ending that I want (and this ranged between sad, happy, and then hopeful; the good news is that it is not the first one).
The bad news: I want to make it at least to chapter 7 before I upload any new content, and that means struggling through some of the old crap and getting things sorted out. There also might be a few disconnects in the writing, and I have added intro author notes to the related chapters to try and cover this temporarily. Like the only other stories I have on this website, I don't think a lot of it aged well in my eyes, but I don't want to give up on it. In fact, I want to make it better. I want to improve more upon Finn's character as well as her interactions with others.
That's part of learning how to write I guess, and I at least like to think that I improved a little since my absence. Related to that, I have a variety of reasons for not updating in so long, but it hasn't necessarily been all bad—in fact, I'm choosing to see it in a positive light. My life has changed up quite a bit in the past few years and I'm still getting used to things, so I'm just asking for everyone's patience as I go along!
I'm not making any promises about when this will happen (sincerest apologies to Zephyr47 and JuggernautJJ in particular; I said I would be updating in a few weeks, but wow, that was off the mark), but I am hopeful that I can at least post a new chapter by the end of this year and get my own personal shit together. This would involve me sitting my butt down and putting my hands on the keyboard. That said, my thanks to all of you who have stuck with this story for so long and offered words of encouragement—and also criticism. I'm hoping to put a good effort into making this story as good as it can be.
TL;DR I will be updating again. Rewritten material has been posted for chapters 1 through 5.
This will be deleted before I post a new chapter.
