Credits to WiltedGalaxy17 for discussing various things (which started from my fanfic; "Terraria: The Great Impact") with me over at Discord which in turn lead to the creation of this fanfic. We both gush so much for our love regarding the SoulsBorne games and Terraria before going into the waifus of Genshin Impact.
And it seems we both like Ganyu, heh.

Ganyu stared at the countless Xiao and Mingxiao lanterns, watching as all of them slowly ascends into the skies under the night of Liyue. She watches it as she grips the railing gently, patiently waiting for a certain someone who hasn't been visiting for about a month now. Every night, she wished for his return as she felt this weird comfort whenever she's with him. After the whole debacle with the Traveler and the Archon of Liyue being Zhongli, he never appeared again.
She didn't know where he is right now but she missed him.
As she continues to admire the lanterns as well as the stars in wonder, someone steps into Liyue Qixing. She didn't noticed it at first because she was too busy reminiscing her time with a certain someone but when those familiar sounds of boots and armors clanking made its way to her ears, her eyes widen. She blinks before she turns around to see that the person she had missed; known as the Warrior of Ash by the people of Liyue but known only as the Ashen One by her alone.
And he was standing before her.
"A-Ashen One..." Ganyu greeted but like many of their interaction, he was silent. "Is...is that really you?" She asked, shocked and disbelieve.
Ganyu thought it was a dream, oh she thought it really was. But it was all reality, this is all real and she couldn't help but feel very happy to see him.
She held back her tears and greeted him with a sweet smile and flushed cheeks, "Welcome back, Ashen One."
