Where is she right now? Wherever she is it's dark, and a little cold, there's a soft breeze hitting her, but she feels really comfortable right now, so maybe she should stay. Wendy stays where she is, unmoving, resting her eyes until she finds the strength to get up. She promised herself she wouldn't drink, but somehow she's nursing a hangover so that plan didn't go very well. It's a good thing Magnolia was with her grandparents because right now Wendy was in no shape to take care of anyone; not even herself.

After what seems like hours, she can't tell if she fell asleep again or not, a bright light hits her eyes and she's hissing and flinching away, curling up into a ball and covering her eyes. What in the world is going on now? Who turned on the lights?

"Wendy?!"

Wendy blinks open her eyes and groans. Her eyes adjust to the bright light and she's seeing her husband now, standing above her, bucket in his hand. Bucket? Why was he holding a bucket? Oh yeah! Now she remembers. She got drunk, couldn't make it up stares to her room, and decided to sleep on the floor with everyone else. She got the bucket because she didn't want to throw up on the ground, but it seems somehow she was sleeping with it over her head.

"Mest, hey, back already? How long as it been? What time is it?" She slurs her words a bit.

Mest is not impressed. He looks around for the culprit, finding everyone else still unconcious, and sighs out to himself. He leans down and picks up his tiny wife, heading towards their room.

"Wendy I've been gone for three days. I just arrived back this morning, thinking you would be waiting there for me with Magnolia, but come to find you passed out. Please tell me our daughter is alright."

"She's alright; she's with your parents. Three days? Really? I can't remember anything. Sherria and Juvia said we were going to have some fun... and Iguess we did," she giggles lightly.

"I thought we talked about alcohol Wendy."

"I know, I didn't do it on purpose."

Mest takes a deep breath and sighs out, "well I'm glad you weren't as miserable as I was. At least you had fun."

Wendy frowns immediately, "what? Miserable? What happened? Was the trip a bust?"

"Oh no, we found treasure. And we partied a bit, and spared, I had a lot of fun... until I thought about you and Magnolia. Then I just got all sad and depressed and mopey."

"Aw Mest, I love you. You are an amazing father and husband." Wendy smiles gently cuffing his cheeks.

Mest grins brightly and shakes his head, "I know. It was a good time, I just didn't like spending it apart from you. I love you too wife."

"Don't worry, soon we'll be able to go with you."

"Not too soon. I don't want anything to happen to my precious little angel. Speaking of which, do you think you could handle yourself while I go and pick her up?" Mest asks.

Wendy pats his shoulder, but Mest refuses to put her down until they're in their room. He gently places her down on their bed and Wendy leans up, clutching her head a bit.

"I'm fine, perfectly fine. Yes, go get our daughter... or," Wendy whispers, wiggling her fingers as she reaches for his belt, "you have been away for a while, and I have been oh so lonely in my bed."

Mest chuckles, "I miss our daughter."

"She's a baby, she can't tell time yet. She won't notice if we're a little late picking her up. Ten minutes, maybe fifteen."

"I can deny you nothing it seems," he sighs before smashing their lips together.

Wendy giggles as she falls back on the bed, having him crawl up and hover over her. She works her way with unbuckling his belt and kicks his pants off with her feet.

"Twenty minutes and then we go, I've missed my wife oh so much," he teases.

"Twenty minutes it is," Wendy laughs and then starts to moan as he slips his fingers underneath her clothes.

LINE MAYBE ADD SOME STUFF MORE ADD SHERRIA LEAVING!

"Dear, are you sure you want to do this?"

Wendy smiles sadly a little, "yes Mary, Mest and I have discussed this a lot and now is finally our time. Our crew finally came back for us last week. We're about ready to head off again."

Mary sniffs, tears coming to her eyes. She reaches for a napkin and starts doting her eyes.

"I can't believe this. I just got my son back, and a new daughter, and the cutest granddaughter ever, and now I'm losing all of them." She cries.

Wendy feels bad and ducks her head down, tears of her own appearing in her eyes.

"Stop trying to guilt the girl Mary; what do you mean just got them back? They stayed here for a full year." Doranbolt sighs shaking his head.

"Doranbolt! You don't understand a maiden's heart!" Mary cries out.

"Maiden's heart? You're not a maiden anymor- ow!" Doranbolt yells out as his wife smacks his head.

Wendy giggles and takes a sip of her tea, "Mary, Doranbolt, I cannot express enough how much I appreciated evrything you've done for my family. This is not good bye forever, just for a little while. I'll be writing letters, and we'll visit again, and you'll have to visit us once we get settled down. You guys and Eve are welcomed anytime you want."

"Hmm, I've never left this island before. I don't think- OUCH WOMAN!"

"Shut it Doranbolt, of course we'll visit. There's no question about it." Mary agrees.

Wendy giggles again. She really is going to miss her new parents-in-law. She can't believe that she has to say good bye now. Even though she's been with them every day it's going to be hard to not be able to see them whenever she wants.

"Where's our son? Shouldn't he be saying good bye as well?" Doranbolt asks.

"Mest is babysitting Magnolia back in town. He doesn't trust to leave our daughter alone with all our friends. They're a bit of a rowdy bunch. He'll visit before we leave tomorrow. Do you think you will be able to see us off?"

"Yes, of course. We don't have anything planned for tomorrow. I just- it's going to be so hard tomorrow to see you off." Mary sniffs.

"Mary!" Wendy cries, jumping out of her seat to hug her.

"Wendy! Don't be a stranger!" Mary cries hugging her back.

Doranbolt just stands in the background shaking his head. He doesn't know what's wrong women. Like she said, it wasn't going to be forever.

"Mommy! Mommy!"

Wendy holds her arms open and Magnolia reaches over for her. Erza chuckles as she walks over and gives her back her daughter.

"Hi Mommy!" Magnolia cheers wrapping her arms around her neck.

"Hi Maggie," Wendy giggles kissing her cheeks.

"We're about ready to sail off Wendy. Any last good byes to say should be now. Are you excited?" Erza asks.

"Of course I am! I've been stuck here for a year! I can't wait to be back in the ocean waves! Adventure calling my name! Seeing and living with everyone again! You have no idea how much I missed everyone." Wendy cheers.

"And you have no idea how much we all missed little Maggie here," Erza cooes pinching at her toes.

Magnolia squeals and starts kicking her feet around, leaving both girls to laugh at her cuteness.

"Have you see my husband? We need to say good bye to his parents again." Wendy asks looking around for him.

"I think he's on deck making sure your room is secured with Natsu. I'll go and get him for you now."

"Thanks Erza. Come on Maggie, let's go say good bye to your grandparents and uncle."

Maggie cooes and giggles as Wendy carries her away. She walks around, trying not to run into anyone, as she heads to her family. Mirajane and Lisanna were standing around them, speaking and laughing. Wendy walks up next to them and smiles.

"Oh Wendy! Mirajane was just telling us the funniest stories about when you tried to help her cook for the first time," Mary giggles.

"What?! Mirajane! Okay, say good bye to them. Shoo, shoo," Wendy exclaims, her face bright red as she shooes them away.

Mirajane and Lisanna laugh as they listen to her. Doranbolt grins as he holds his arms out for his favorite granddaughter and Wendy gladly gives her to him as she looks at her mother-in-law.

"I'm sure she exaggerated a lot, don't listen to her Mary... I'm a much better cook now," she adds at the end.

Mary laughs, "don't worry about it Wendy, I was never the best of cooks either. Let's just say Doranbolt here didn't marry me for my cooking," she winks.

Wendy giggles and covers her mouth. She feels something tug her hand and looks down at Eve. His face is red, tears in his eyes, a big pout on his lips as he looks up at her. Wendy feels her heart break and kneels down to his level.

"What's wrong Eve?"

"Do you have to go Wendy? Couldn't you say another day? No, another week? No, how about one more year?" Eve cries.

"Aw, I'm sorry Eve. We have to leave, but that doesn't mean we'll never come back. I promise to write you letters, and send you gifts, and you can always write back to me."

Eve sniffs, "promise?"

"Of course Eve, I promise." Wendy smiles patting his head.

"Mom! Dad! Hey, sorry I was busy with some last minute things." Mest says jogging over to them.

"Doranbolt!" Mary cries hugging her son closely to her chest.

"Ah- Mom!" Mest cries out.

"Big brother!" Eve cries next hugging his leg.

Wendy giggles as her husband consoles his family. He looks over at her for help, but she just smiles and shrugs.

"Mom, Eve, calm down. This isn't going to be forever."

"Yes it is! You disappeared last time and you're disappearing again this time! I'm never going to see you again Doranbolt!" Mary cries.

Mest flinches and sighs out. He hugs his mother tightly and kisses her forehead, running his hand up and down her back.

"I'm sorry Mom, please stop worrying. This time it will be different. I'll promise to write, I promise I won't disappear. You too Eve, I promise to send you lots of toys." Mest chuckles patting his head.

"Wendy promised me the same thing! Did you hear that Mom? They're going to send me gifts!" Eve cheers.

Mary giggles and pulls away, wiping her tears away, "yes, that's wonderful Eve. Mest, take good care of yourself. You've grown into such a handsome young man and you have such a wonderful family, don't lose sight of that. Always remember you have a family here that will welcome you back home."

"Thanks Mom."

"Doranbolt, go and say good bye to your son! Give me Magnolia, bye bye baby girl. Good bye cutie," Mary cooes taking her granddaughter away from his arms.

Doranbolt stares infront of his son and clears his throat. Mest rubs the back of his head as he stares down at the ground.

"Take care of your girls Mest," Doranbolt tells him.

"Of course Dad... take care of yourself. Thanks for... thanks for everything you've done for me."

Wendy rolls her eyes and bumps into Mest, shoving him towards his father. Mest stumbles a bit, looks behind him at his wife's glaring eyes, and then shakes his head to himself. Awkwardly, very awkwardly, he reaches out and hugs his father. Doranbolt's eyes widen and he hugs his son back, the two of them in an awkward embrace. Wendy sighs and shakes her head while Mary just giggles.

"Bye Dad, bye Mom, see you later Eve. Come on my little sunshine, time to say good bye." Mest clears his throat pulling away.

"Oh bye my cute little baby," Mary says kissing her chubby cheeks.

"Bye Magnolia." Doranbolt says patting her head.

"Bye little Maggie!" Eve cheers shaking her hand.

"Bye everyone, I can't wait to see you all again." Wendy smiles hugging everyone all over again.

Mest picks up Magnolia and kisses her forehead, holding her tightly in his arms. He waves by at his family and starts heading away with Wendy by his side. He's not going to cry, he's not going to feel bad. It wasn't hard leaving the first time, it shouldn't be hard leaving this time. It hurts though, it really hurts.

"Don't worry Mest, we'll be back." Wendy whispers holding onto his arm.

"I know, I'm not sad," his voice cracks and he clears his throat.

Wendy giggles and heads on ahead. She runs into Erza and tugs on her hand, pulling her down.

"Mest is coming up now," she warns.

"Perfect, everyone gather round! Places!" Erza calls out.

Mest walks onto the ship and stares as everyone is standing all around them. Wendy walks over and grabs Magnolia from his arms, bright smile on her lips.

"What's going on?" Mest asks.

Erza walks over to Mest and stands in front of him. Mest raises an eyebrow at her, but she just smiles in return. She reaches up and takes off her captain's hat.

"I, Erza Scarlet, 5th (check?) Captain of Fairy Tail, step down and name Mest Gryder the new captain of Fairy Tail! Or returning captain, whatever floats your boat," Erza shurgs placing his back in his rightful place.

Mest pats it on his head and grins. He can't believe how much he missed wearing this hat. It feels... like he's finally back. Like he's finally home.

"To Captain Mest!" Erza cheers.

"To Captain Mest!" Everyone cheers after.

"To Captain Mest," Wendy smiles taking his hand.

Mest wraps an arm around Wendy's waist and pulls her close, "and to his wife Wendy."

Wendy giggles and squeezes his hand tightly. She hasn't seen her husband this happy since... since... a long time. This is where he belongs, and this is where she belongs, right by her side.

LINE A YEAR AND SOME MONTHS LATER? WRITE MORE ADVENTURES IF YOU WANT!

"Oof, oof, oof," Wendy grunts as she climbs the stairs.

She has to stop halfway and catch her breath, holding onto the railing for her dear life. After a couple of seconds (or minutes) she starts waddling back up the stairs and finally makes it to the top.

"I'm never coming up here again," she sighs, rubbing her swollen stomach as she walks across the deck.

She walks straight to the helm and see more stairs she has to climb before she finally meets her destination. No, no, she doesn't want that! No! Wendy turns her head and looks around, her eyes widening when she sees Freed walking by.

"Freed! Freed!" She huffs out.

Freed pauses and looks at her, raising an eyebrow.

"A little help?"

He scoffs, roll his eyes, before heading over. His wraps an arm around her waist and helps her walk up the stair.

"Aren't you supposed to be on bed rest?"

"It's good to stretch my legs every once in a while."

"If your husband catches me and tries to chew my ear off, I'm blaming you."

Wendy giggles and sighs out in relief as she finally makes it up the stairs. She smiles and pats Freed's back.

"Thanks Freed."

"Don't mention it... call me if you need help walking back down." Freed mumbles as he goes back down.

Aw, she knew he liked her. Everyone liked her of course, but everyone loved her when she was pregnant. It almost made carrying another human being kind of fun. Wendy continues on her mission and walks over to her friends. Erza looks up and smiles, waving her hand.

"Hey Wendy, feeling better?"

"A little, she's no longer kicking me like crazy anymore. How's my little angel being?"

Jellal stops playing with Magnolia and looks up at her, "like an angel of course. Maggie, Mommy's here."

Magnolia turns around and gasps, squealing out loudly. She stumbles to get to her feet, Jellal reaching out to catch her and help her back up. Her little feet start stomping as she walks over to her mother, giggling when she finally captures her.

"Mommy hi! Hi Mommy!" She cheers.

"Hi Maggie, did you have fun?" Wendy asks smiling down at her.

"Yes! Yes! Jelly fun! Fun! Fun! Fun!" Maggie claps her hands.

She turns around and runs back to Jellal, falling into his lap. Jellal grins and picks her up, ticking her belly and making her laughter echo through the air. Wendy giggles and wishes she could snap a picture of this cute scene. Never in her wildest dreams did she think Magnolia would love Jellal the most out of everybody. She thought it would be Natsu for sure.

"I give her all the sweets in the world, and yet she completely glows whenever she sees Jellal's smiling face," Erza pouts.

Wendy giggles in her hand, "can you blame her? She likes pretty faces."

Erza snorts and bumps shoulders with her.

"I want one of these," Jellal says out loud.

Erza chokes and stills, her eyes going wide. Wendy gasps, raising a hand over her lips to hide her growing grin. Jellal freezes and slowly looks up at his audience.

"I didn't say that out loud, did I?" He asks.

Wendy begins to laugh out loudly while Erza blushes and turns her face away to hide it. Jellal groans and stands up, walking over to Wendy. He holds out the baby for her to carry before disappearing down the stairs.

"What are you doing Erza? Go get your man!"

Erza blinks and shakes her head, "I don't think I'm ready for this conversation yet."

"Erza! He's the love of your life! Fight!"

"Fight! Fight! Fight!" Magnolia cheers.

Erza scrunches up her face before going after him. Wendy shakes her head and giggles.

"Your Aunts and Uncles are so funny. Can I tell you a little secret Maggie? Your Mommy is hoping someone else will get pregnant. She's tired of being the only pregnant pirate, plus you're going to need friends growing up."

"Jelly! Jelly!" Magnolia calls out.

"Oh no, sorry baby, but no Jelly right now. Er... maybe Mommy shouldn't have let Erza leave... now no one is manning the wheel... oh boy. Well that's not going to be a problem! Mommy can figure this out! After all, she figured out how to raise you."

Wendy picks up Magnolia higher and waddles over to the wheel, placing a hand on it. Okay, this is easy... easy... and kind of fun. She can't believe she's never done this before without Mest's supervision. He tries to teach her how to steer once, but it was very boring after a while since they weren't really doing anything. Wendy hums as she turns the wheel a little bit to the left. She hums again as she tilts it over to the right next. Spin, spin, spin-

"Mommy! Me too! Me too!" Magnolia whines reaching out.

"Okay Maggie, you too." Wendy says holding her closer.

Magnolia cheers as she grabs the wheel and spins it around. All of a sudden the ship lurches to the right. There are screams and yelling echoing across the ship and Wendy reaches out, grabbing the wheel and keeping it steady again. Her eyes are wide and she gasps.

"Whoopsies. Bad Magnolia," she tsks her.

"ERZA! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" Laxus roars climbing up the stairs.

He freezes when he sees Wendy holding Magnolia with a guilty look on her face. He takes a deep breath, knowing better to yell at a pregnant lady, and tries to calm down.

"Where is Erza?"

"She really had to talk to Jellal; it was important."

Laxus' nostrils flare up and Wendy shrinks down a little bit.

"I'll take it from you. Why don't you and Maggie go play somewhere else?"

Wendy flinches when he says play and looks down. She takes a step back and waddles towards the stairs, keeping her eyes on her feet when she passes by Laxus.

"By Laxy! Bye Laxy!" Magnolia's cheerful voice says as she waves at him.

Laxus smiles a little and wiggles a finger at her before heading for the wheel. Wendy stands at the top of the staircase and frowns. She could barely walk down the stairs on her own, but holding Magnolia? She's defintely going to take a tumble.

"Freed!" She calls out, "Freed! I require assistance!"

Where is he? Where is everyone else? Wendy whines and turns around. She doesn't want to ask Laxus for help; he's already mad at her. To bother him again... no, no, no. Wendy looks back down and grins when she sees her savior walking over.

"Please tell me that wasn't you?" Freed frowns.

"It wasn't me, it was Maggie," Wendy says, holding her out for him.

Freed gives her a look of irritation as he grabs her daughter. He stares at her and Magnolia stares back, trying to match his glare. Wendy holds onto the railing and huffs as she climbs down, Freed right by her side carrying Maggie.

"Free, Free, love Free," Magnolia giggles slapping his cheeks.

"Children are very frustrating. Cute at one moment, frustrating the next... whenever you need a break just come and find me."

Wendy bites her bottom lip as she reaches the bottom step. Freed quickly puts Magnolia back in her arms before leaving, the tips of his ears tinting red.

"I can't believe you Maggie. Even Freed loves you, and Freed doesn't love anyone except for Laxus. You're cuteness is too much."

Magnolia looks innocently at her mother and blows some spit bubbles. Wendy feels thousand of arrows hit her heart and she blushes, cooing over her daughter.

"I love you so much."

"Wendy?! Wendy! Where are you Wendy?! Max, have you seen my wife?! Wendy!"

Wendy flinches and turns around. She heads for the stairs leading under the ship and stands there, waiting for her husband to run up there. Magnolia hears her Daddy's voice and squirms in her arms.

"Daddy! Daddy!"

Mest stops interrigating Max when he hears his daughter's cute little voice. He runs towards it, heading for the stairs and tripping up them as he sees his family.

"Maggie!"

Magnolia reaches out her chubby arms and Mest takes her in his arms, holding her close and kissing her all over.

"Maggie, hi there cutie. Did you have fun playing with Jelly and Ezra?" Mest fawns over him.

"Ezra! Ezra funny! Lots kisses! Kisses Daddy!"

Mest kisses Magnolia all over again before looking over at his wife. A scowl hits his face as he presses his lips together in a fine line.

"What part of bed rest do you not understand wife?"

Wendy scratches at her cheek, "it's good to walk around? For the baby?"

"Wendy," he groans out loudly, "how many times do I have to tell you? Don't wander off without me, or at least someone by your side. One minute you were napping, and then when I go to check on you again you're gone."

"I thought you would be more at ease seeing as how we've gone through this before, but you seem even more wound up."

Magnolia smacks at her father's chest, wanting his attention on her again. Mest looks at her and grabs her hand, pretending to eat it making her laughing.

"Wendy, you're going to make my hair go grey. You really are."

Wendy looks down at her feet and frown, "sorry husband. Our little Miss finally stopped kicking me, so I thought a bit of exercise would be good."

Mest sighs out and leans down. He puts Magnolia on the deck and holds her hand in his. With his free hand he reaches out and rubs Wendy's belly.

"I pray our litle miss won't be such a handful like her mother. Maggie is the perfect little angel, now only if her mother would act the same."

Mest feels her stomach rumble and raises an eyebrow at his wife, her face heating up as she stares back at him.

"Seems like we're hungry."

Mest chuckles to himself, "of course you are. Come on wife."

Wendy holds his hand as they walk down the stairs and towards the kitchen. Magnolia's little legs race to keep up with her parents, Mest lifting her up whenever she stumbles. They family enter the room and Mest makes sure everyone is settled before he heads into the kitchen to whip something up.

"Ah, no Maggie. Don't eat that, I don't know what that is," Wendy says taking whatever gunk was left over on the table.

"What are you feeling for?" Mest calls from the kitchen.

"Something light! And spicy! Like a sandwich with chilly peppers on it!"

"Chili peppers? Wendy," Mest sighs, but grabs the ingredients anyway.

Wendy pinches Magnolia's cheeks and smiles to herself.

"Mest? Are we almost to dry land yet? Baby and I have been craving some chocolate and Mira doesn't have anymore. No one else will fork over their secret stash either."

"In the next day or so. We're heading for some island named (). Get this, when we were looking at the isand there was a town called Magnolia on it."

"Ah- really?! You hear that Magnolia? You have your own town named after you. It's probably cute and beautiful and funny, just like you." Wendy teases ticking her sides.

"Stop Mommy! Hahahaha, stop!"

Mest enters the room back holding a tray, heading over to their table. He sits down next to Magnolia and places a bowl of fruit in front of her.

"Thanks Daddy!" She cheers shoving her mouth full of them.

"You're welcome baby, here you are wife. Two spicy sandwiches. I hope you won't run to the refresher all night because of this," Mest mumbles the last part to himself placing her plate on the table.

"Thanks Mest."

Wendy picks up a sandwhich and takes a large bite, moaning and licking her lips as she chews. She looks at Mest and winks, giving him a thumbs-up. Mest chuckles and shakes his head.

"I was talking to Erza and Mira about our little Miss. Your due date is in two months and we really need to find a place for you to rest and give birth at. If Magnolia turns out to be a little nice town we might end up staying there until she's born."

"Sounds good. I'm sure I will love it since I already love this Magnolia so very much," Wendy coos kissing her baby's puffy cheeks.

Mest smiles softly at the view and leans against his hand, "I can't believe I have the perfect family."

Wendy smiles back and tilts her head, "little accident number 2 included?"

Mest snorts at the name, "of course. She may have came a little bit too early, but she's defintely welcomed."

"I love you Mest," she grins brightly at him.

"I love you too Wendy."

LINE

"Wow," Wendy whispers to herself.

She strains her neck up to stare at the very large cathedrial in front of her. It looked so ancient, maybe victorean, beautiful stain glasses windows and a giant bell hanging on top.

"Come on Wens, we're almost to the hotel. There will be time for sightseeing later." Natsu calls out to her.

"Oh, sorry Natsu! I'm coming." Wendy calls waddling over.

The Fairy Tail Pirates arrived in the city of Magnolia sometime around dawn. While Wendy was sound asleep everyone was unpacking and making sure they had accomidasions for their stay. When she finally woke up around noon Natsu, Gajeel, and Jellal came to pick her up. Mest and Erza had to stay and talk to the dock manager about docking their ship there.

"Oof, come on little Miss. We're almost there," Wendy moans hugging her belly.

Once they make it to the hotel she's going to go sit down in a comfy chair and soak her feet in hot water for an hour or so while Natsu or Gajeel brings her snacks. After that she'll wander around the town- er, maybe she should wait for Mest. He doesn't like not knowing where she is, especially with Magnolia. Maybe that wouldn't be the brightest idea. By the end Natsu and Gajeel are both helping support Wendy when they finally make it to the hotel. Jellal is holding open the door, so glad that her room is on the first floor. They only have to make it a couple of more steps before Wendy finds her butt in a nice and comfy seat. She sighs out as she rubs her belly, the guys all hovering around her.

"Maggie?" She asks.

"With Levy and Lucy, she's fine." Natsu tells her, "they'll bring her back whenever she gets fussy."

"Oh good. Do you think-"

"Of course, what do you need Wens?"

Wendy giggles, "I'm sorry. Could I get something to drink though?"

"On it," Gajeel says leaving the room.

"And maybe a light snack?"

"I'll see if the cafe part of the hotel is open," Jellal says leaving next.

"And could you fill a bucket with some warm water? I'm afraid my feet are swollen."

"No problem Wendy. Whatever makes it easier for little Natsume."

Wendy laughs as Natsu walks in the other room, digging around the bathroom for some type of contaier.

"We haven't agreed to that name yet!"

"Why not? It's beautiful, it sounds like my name, I'm your favorite crew member. It all makes sense to me!"

She giggles and shakes her head, closing her eyes as she relaxes in her seat. Her hands rub her belly up and down gently.

"I have a good feeling about this place. I can't wait to go back and explore that cathedrial."

"I'm sure you will like it for two secodns before you head back home. Hahaha, if you want I can see if I can rent a carriage for you. Wouldn't want to tire you out so quickly."

"Ha ha, very funny Natsu... that actually sounds like a nice idea though. Maybe you should look into that. There will be no more adventures until Mest arrives though."

"Of course, that man is so wound up he'd blow a casket if you were gone when he arrived... ah, good times."

Natsu enters the room again holding a large bucket of steaming water. He places it by Wendy's face and she relaxes as she dips her toes into it.

"Thanks Natsu."

"No problem Wens... do you mind?"

She hums and looks at his hand in the air. She shakes her head and closes her eyes again, removing her hands from her belly. Natsu kneels down next to her and starts to rub her belly gently, chuckling when he feels a small kick.

"I can't believe you're doing this again, and so soon too. I still remember when Maggie was in your belly."

"I think we all remember that; you were all forced to stay in one place for a few months."

"Eh- it wasn't so bad... I've been thinking about it too, settling down. With Lucy of course, maybe a couple of more adventures before we start a family... do you think she would marry a guy like me?"

Wendy scoffs, "a guy like you? Of course Natsu, she'd be lucky to have a guy like you! You are the nicest, funniest, greatest person I have ever met! I mean honestly, if Mest didn't exist, I would totally be gunning for you."

Natsu grins and shakes his head, "thanks Wendy, I really needed all that confidence. Well, I guess I should start looking for rings then. It's going to take FOREVER to find the right one."

"Bring Juvia along, they are best friends."

"Good idea."

Wendy looks over at Natsu and smiles brightly. It seemed so long ago that they were young and recklass, going on grand adventures and chasing treasures, fighting bad guys and stealing. They were finallys tarting to cool off though. Jellal wanted to start a family, Natsu wanted to get married and settle down... it seems like the ending of an era. Sure the Fairy Tail Pirates will continue to sail on, but... maybe without a few of their best members.

LINE

Wendy was already in love with this town. Everything was so cute and homely, the buildings straight out of a fairy tale. The townsfolks were extremely nice and welcoming, the sights and smells were absolutely breathtaking, and she couldn't shake off the feeling that she had really found something special here.

"Another one Daddy, please?"

"Okay pumpkin, but last one."

Magnolia cheers as she gets another cookie, biting down on it. Mest kisses her forehead and checks on his face.

"You doing okay there Wendy?"

"Yup, I'm feeling great Mest."

The catherdiral here was absolutely breathtaking. The inside of it looked like some type of castle (not hers, but something more magical). Wendy met with the priests inside and introduced herself, making friends with the people she'll be knowing until her litle bundle of joy pops out. She walks alongside the wall, seeing placks hanging up with names on them.

"What are these?" She asks placing her hand on them.

"Heroes. Everyone on this wall has done something to help our town. We honor them here with our daily prayers."

Wendy's eyes scan the names, () (), () (), her fingers freeze and she stops walking. Slolwy she leans in closer and blinks, a soft gasps escaping her lips.

"Mest, look."

"Hmm? What is it?"

Wendy turns around to look at him and Mest narrows his eyes, mouthing the words on the walk. His eyes widen a little as he sees a familiar name.

"Mavis Vermillion?!"

"Ah yes, the famous Mavis. She saved our town in the beginning of our time. There were these terrible ditators named Blue Dragon, or something along those lines. She came to this town with a crew of heroes and vanqueshed all of them. She stayed here for a while, a couple years actually. We still have her home on top of Fairy Hills; we consider it a landmark."

"Fairy Hills?" Wendy whispers.

"Yup, there's an old tale that faries reside in this town. Mavis completely fell in love with the idea and wanted to see one for herself. Maybe that was the reason she stayed so long, maybe that was the reason she left. We have faries depicted in many different ways, super tiny, our size, with wings as large as buildings, tails, antlers and horns, we never truly know."

Fairies? Tails? Fairy Tail. Wendy blinks softly and smiles warmly.

"I bet the fairies she saw before she left had tails."

Mest chuckles and grins to himself, "we have to bring the others here. They'll enjoy this story so much."

"Of course, everyone is welcomed in the home of the lord."

Wendy, Mest, and Magnolia kneel down and pray quietly before they leave. She holds her husband's hand tightly as they continue wlaking through the city.

"This is amazign Mest. For Fairy Tail's first captain to live here, maybe that's why I feel so at home."

"I have to admit, I had the same feeling kind of."

"We should stay. Our little miss should be born here, I'm sure Captain Mavis would approve."

"Yes! Yes! Stay!" Magnolia cheers.

"And so does our little Magnolia," Wendy cooes pinching her cheek.

"If that is what you wish." Mest agrees.

Yes. She sees it. Her, Mest, and Magnolia. Venturing out everyday. Meeting new people, getting to know their neighbors. Going to church every Sunday. Going on adventures around the island. Discovering all it has to offer. Little miss being born here, growing up here. Magnolia growing up here. Them living in a house and... settling down here... is this really it? When Wendy first arrived at Mest's hometown she fell in love with it instantly. Everything seemed so perfect, but it wasn't perfect for Mest. This place, she already loves it, Mest seems to agree... she doesn't know why, but she feels it in the pit of her stomach that this might be the one.

"This is a nice neighborhood. I can't believe a town this small is so well off," Mest whistles looking around the houses.

"Sure it's nothing compared to other places, but it's still pretty big. Close to the sea, close to home. Ah Mest! Look at those houses. They're so cute, like little cottages!" Wendy giggles walking closer to them.

"Wendy not too close. We don't want the owners to think we're spying on them," Mest warns following after her.

Wendy laughs as they get lost in the neighborhood. They come across a small park and decide to rest there for a minute. Wendy sits down and rests her feet while Mest chases Magnolia around the park. When he finally catches her he puts her on the swing set and starts pushing her back and forth, her laughter filling the air. Yes, this is what she wants. This is what she imagined her life being like as a little girl. A husband she loves, children she adores, a nice comfortable place to call home. Magnolia's eyes begin to droop and Mest walks back over to his wife with her in his arms.

"I think it's about time we call it."

"Okay love," she says getting back to her feet.

They walk down a new street and Wendy's head spins all around as she admires. Her eyes catch something... unbelievable. She stops and starts heading over towards the little hole in the wall. There is a badly chipped white picket fence surrounding a home. It's a bit of a fixer upper, there is grass growing widely in the front, the paint is chipping on the wall, the windows look like they could use a little spit shine, the house iself looking like it's shrugging it's shoulders... it speaks to her though.

"Wendy?"

A home. This is what he feelings were leading her too. This is what she was waiting to find. All these years, why she left Mest's hometown, why no other place ever spoke to her like this... and it was for sale.

"Mest? I want something."

"Want something? What? What do you need Wendy? Are you craving something specific? If we hurry home I'll have someone run out and get it for you."

Wendy hums and shakes her head, "no, nothing like that. I want to ask, but I'm a little bit worried."

"Worried? What for? I thought I told you I'd give you anything you wanted, all you have to do is ask."

She looks back at him and smiles, "I know, I remember. This just might be a little bit too much."

Mest tilts her head and follows her gaze. He sees what made her stop and stiffens up a little bit.

"I want this house. I want to make this our home. I want to raise our children here in Magnolia. I think we've finally found the perfect place. I know it may sound silly since we've only been here for a few hours, but I truly believe-"

"Okay."

Wendy blinks, "what?"

"Okay Wendy. It's not a problem. I said I would give you whatever you wanted, I said I would settle down with you whenever you were ready, and I meant it. I kind of wish you chose a better place than this dump... but this is so like you. Alright, we can stay. I'll figure out who is selling this house and I'll buy it for us. Have Natsu and the guys fix it up to living conditions and then we'll move in and-"

Wendy runs over and wraps her arms around him, mindeful of Magnolia sleeping in his arms. She hugs both of them and buries her head in his chest, tears running down her cheeks.

"Thank you Mest."

Mest chuckles and strokes the top of her head, "no Wendy, thank you. For blessing me with love and a family. There's nothing more that I want than to grow old with you surrounded by our children."

He kisses the top of her head and looks up at their future home again, "as much as a dump as it looks, I have a feeling it won't be cheap. Might have to go on a quick treasure one in order to afford it."

"I won't might, I'll wait here and keep others away from it. This is our home. I've already claimed it," she smiles lookg up at him.

"I don't like leaving so close to your due date."

"Like you said, a quick adventure. Besides, little miss isn't going anywhere for another two months. I'm sure you'll be back before then."

"I'll talk it over with the crew and see what will happen. Ready tohead home wife?"

"Of course husband."

"WHERE IS MEST?!" Wendy cries out loudly.

"He's not here Wendy, we'll have to do this without him," Mirajane urges her.

"No, he's supposed to be here! This is his daughter I'm about to push out! I want Mest! I want my husband," she cries out painfully.

"God fucking dammit Mest! Quick adventure my ass!" Erza growls out.

"Negitive energy is not good around the baby Erza. How about you go check and see when the doctor is coming?" Mirajane asks her.

"Fine! And if I run into Captain I'm going to kick his ass while I'm at it!" Erza screams stomping herself out the room.

"AHHHH! AHHHH!" Wendy screams clutching at the blankets.

"There, there Wendy, everything is going to be okay." Mirajane soothes her.

"It hurts Mira, I'm scared. I want Mest, why didn't he come back for us?" Wendy cries, big fat tears running down her cheeks.

Mirajane's heart breaks and she brings a cloth to her face, wiping away her tears and sweat sticking to her face.

"I'm sorry Wendy, but you can't despair. You can do this. I know you can do this. You are the strongest princess I know. You've done this once for Magnolia, you can do it again. Don't you want to meet your new child? You have to do this Wendy. You're going to get threw this."

Wendy sniffs and bites down her bottom lip, moaning out when she feels more pain. Mirajane grabs her hand and holds it tight. She continues to stay by her side and help her with every contraction she feels, wiping tears and sweat off her face. When the door is kicked open she turns around and sees Erza walking back in with the doctor.

"Sorry I'm late, let's do this." The doctor says.

Wendy closes her eyes tightly and screams out loudly. Erza runs to her other side and grabs her hand, giving a worried look to Mirajane. They were both there for her last birth and are thinking the same thing. Why is she in so much more pain than the last one? Because her husband isn't here for moral support? The day he came back he was in for a world of hurt.

"Push Mrs. Gryder!"

Wendy screams as she pushes with all her might.

"You can do this Wendy, push, push," Mirajane encourages.

"Think of Magnolia, she wants to meet her little sister. Keep pushing."

An hour later Wendy is at her last legs. She squeezes her eyes shut tightly and gives out a loud yell. Mirajane and Erza both flinch as she crushes their hands.

"Almost there, almost, I got her! I got them!" The doctor says holding the baby in his arms.

"You did it Wendy, you did it!" Mirajane giggles kissing her forehead.

"Then why does it still hurt? Ahhhh!" Wendy screams.

The doctor's eyes go wide as he looks back down.

"Quick- quick! Someone grab the baby! She has another one coming on the way!"

"Another one? Wendy's having twins?!" Erza gasps.

Twins, twins? Wendy wants to laugh. Is that why she felt so bloated? Is that why she could barely walk and move around? Because she was carrying two little human beings around? Mirajane quickly lets go of Wendy and runs over towards the baby, taking it from the doctor's arms. She grabs a blanket and head into the other room, planning to wash off the newest edition to the Gryder family.

"Come on Mrs. Gryder, this birth should be quicker. Push! Push!"

"Erza!" Wendy cries shaking her head.

"Now you listen here Wendy! You are going to push out that baby and she is going to live! You hear me?! Enough crying, I know you can do this! You are stronger than this! Where is the Wendy that survived all on her own!? Where is the Wendy that sacrificed herself to save everyone's life?! We need her right now, so bring her out!"

She tosses her head to the side and buries it into the pillows, Erza's embrace right there as she uses the last of her strength. Ten minutes later she hears crying echoing through the room that's softer than her own and finally, finally relaxes.

"It's a boy," the doctor says holding up the boy.

Wendy pants and she opens her eyes. She can barely see straight though and her son only looks like a pink blur.

"Two boys, look like you made a mistake at the gender doctor." Mirajane says walking back into the room with a freshely washed baby boy.

She walks over to Erza and hands her their new nephew before taking the younger brother away from the doctor. Erza stares down at the new member to her family and gasps.

"He's perfect Wendy... perfect... I can see why Jellal wants one now," she whispers to herself.

Wendy giggles weakly and closes her eyes. She did her best. She did her best without Mest. All she wants to do is sleep now.

"Mrs. Gryder? Mrs. Gryder!"

LINE

Mest runs as fast as his legs can take him. Off the ship, through the dock, across the streets. He doesn't stop, doesn't break until he makes it to their hotel. Two months! Two whole months! She was supposed to be due in two months! How could he be so stupid?! How could he have left his wife all alone for that?! If he misses the birth of his child he's never going to forgive himself! Mest runs into the hotel panting, eyes going wide as he looks around. He hears laughter in the resturant and runs over there, his entire body going limp as he sees his friends holding a small baby wrapped around in a red blanket.

"Captain," Lucy whispers seeing him first.

Mest falls down to his knees and lets out a small moan. He missed it, he was too late! He was too late! He promised to be there for her and he wasn't! Erza hands the baby over to Lisanna and gets up. She walks over to her captain and places a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"You know, I planned on kicking your ass the minute I saw you again," she tells him.

"I fucking deserve it," Mest spits out.

He's a terrible father and a terrible husband. He doesn't deserve anything else. He doesn't deserve it when Erza grabs his arm and tries to help him up.

"I don't feel that way anymore though. His cuteness makes me never want to do another mean or cruel thing again."

Mest cracks his neck up and stares at her, "he?"

Lisanna giggles as she walks over, baby in her arms. She stands in front of Mest and holds him out for him. Mest's arms are out in an instant and he picks up his son.

"Mest, meet Doranbolt Mest Gryder... the fourth."

His eyes widen as he reaches out a finger and pokes his son's cheek, "Doranbolt?"

"I know, right? So ugly, Wendy said it was a family name though," Erza teases.

Mest chuckles as his son looks up at him. Emerald eyes matching his own stare right back at him. He pulls the down the blanket a little and- yup, there's black fuzz on top of his head. He really does look like a Doranbolt, just like he did, just like his father did.

"We didn't discuss names for males. We were so sure it was going to be a girl," Mest mumbles.

"Well I think everyone was in for a surprise," Erza giggles.

Everyone starts laughing with her and Mest looks up at them, raising an eyebrow.

"What's so funny?"

"That's it! I am done with diaper duty! I don't care how much I love my little nephew, my nose is super sensative and- oh would you look at that! Thank you for finally gracing us with your presence Captain!"

Mest is left breathless as Natsu walks back into the room holding a small baby in his arms. He looks back down at Doranbolt in his arms, before looking back up and seeing another baby.

"But- but- two?!"

Natsu shakes his head, "yeah, two, as in your wife had twins. Come meet your second son you basterd. Sora, he likes to be called So-so though. Isn't that right So-so?" He asks ticking his stomach.

Sora laughter fills the room and Mest walks over to him. He leans over Natsu's shoulder and looks down at his second son. The smile on his face is so uncanny to Wendy's, his eyes staring back at him again. Mest lets out a shaky breath.

"How is this possible?"

Twins didn't run in his family. He couldn't say the same about Wendy's, but two boys? Boys didn't run in her family either. Only one every other generation... was she that generation? Does he actually get to father and raise sons?

"They're only three days old. They haven't even gotten the chance to sleep in their cribs yet since no one wants to put them down," Erza tells him fondly.

"Three days? I was late by three days?" Mest curses himself and stares down at Doranbolt in his arms.

He leans down and kisses his son's forehead, "I'm sorry Doranbolt."

He reaches out and places a hand on Sora's cheek, stroking it lightly, "I'm sorry Sora."

He looks around again, but can't seem to find his firstborn or his wife.

"Where is Magnolia? And Wendy?"

"Magnolia is out with my sister getting ice cream. She was feeling a bit pouty since she wasn't getting all the attention anymore," Lisanna giggles.

"And Wendy is on bed rest until the doctor gives her say so. I believe Jellal is keeping her company right now." Erza responds.

"Bed rest? Did something happen?"

"You try pushing out two babies and see if you can go dancing straight after," Erza snorts rolling her eyes.

Mest flinches and looks down at Doranbolt. He smiles gently before he reaches out for Erza to grab him.

"Here, take him. I'm going to go visit Wendy and... apologize for everything."

"No, no, take him with you. It's time for them to feed anyway. Doranbolt goes first; we'll bring Sora up in a couple of minutes. And we'll make sure to knock this time," Erza glares at Natsu.

"I already apologized to Wendy for that and she forgive me," Natsu pouts stubbornly.

Mest just shakes his head, deciding to figure that out later. He walks into the back rooms and heads for their room. Doranbolt is peaceful in his arms, his large eyes staring directly at his father and not looking anywhere else. Everytime Mest peeks at him he smiles before looking back up. He knocks on their door for a second, waiting for a gruff come in, before entering.

Jellal looks up and holds a finger to his lips. Lying on the bed next to him is Wendy, her chest rising up and down slowly as she rests. Doranbolt turns his head around and starts crying when he spots his mother. Mest curses and tries bouncing him around to quiet him down, but it doesn't work. Wendy stirs in an instant and opens her eyes.

"What? Whose hungry? I'm up." She mumbles rubbing her eyes.

"Don't worry Wendy, calm down." Jellal says brushing her hair.

"Jellal? Did I fall asleep on you? I'm sorry."

"Like I said, don't worry about it. I'll be back later, alright? And then we can finish our game. Welcome back Captain. I hope you don't plan on making any long trips again," Jellal tongue lashes him as he gets up.

He shoots him a look, then smiles lightly at Doranbolt, before he leaves the room and close the door behind him. Mest goes to sit in his spot, pulling the chair closer to the bed. Wendy blinks softly as she stares at her husband.

"You're back," she whispers.

"Wendy... I'm so sorry," his voice cracks.

Doranbolt fusses around in his arms and Wendy reaches out for her son. She holds him in her arms and pulls down her shirt, his tiny lips latching onto her breast.

"Don't worry about it Mest. So, tell me, was the treasure hunt successful? Will we be getting our dream house?"

Mest's breath hitches and he places his head against the blankets, tears rolling down his cheeks. Wendy sighs out sadly and runs her hands through his hair gently.

"I'm not mad Mest, I promise you I'm not. Sure I was a little hysterical, but Erza and Mira encouraged me that I could do this on my own and I did. Now we have two beautiful sons, so don't be sad husband. Be happy. We're all alive and healthy and here to welcome you home."

Mest sniffs and looks up at his wife's smiling face.

"Welcome home Mest."

"Wendy!" Mest cries out.

He leans over and crushes their lips together, grabbing the back of her head and pulling her tightly. Wendy giggles into the kiss and smiles brighly when he pulls away.

"Now, now Captain," she whispers wiping his tears away.

Mest sniffs again and rubs his eyes, "I'm sorry Wendy, I'm here now and I'm not leaving again."

"Good," Wendy nods her head.

Mest sits down on the bed and Wendy scoots over a little bit. She leans up so he can wrap his arm around her shoulder and then lays back down, resting her head on his shoulder. Mest strokes her hair as he watches Doranbolt.

"How was it?"

"Extremely painful. I don't think I ever want to give birth again. Doctor said I lost a lot of blood and that I might need some rehab to help me walk again. Right now my legs are like noodles," she giggles.

Mest flinches a bit, "but you'll be alright?"

"Of course Mest. He's been checking on me every single day. In about a week I'll start practicing to use my legs again, and in a month or so I should be as good as new. Stop worrying husband," she kisses his cheek.

Mest sighs out loudly and rests his head on top of hers. He just lays there, enjoying this moment between them. A couple of minutes later Doranbolt gets fussy and kicks his legs around.

"Looks like someone is full," Wendy cooes pulling him away.

Mest leans up straight and offers to take him. Doranbolt goes into his arms and stares at his father again, compeltely silent.

"He's quiet around strangers, but really wild around familiar faces," Wendy giggles.

"I was wondering why he acted so good," Mest chuckls back.

The door knocks and Wendy fixes her shirt before calling out for them to come in. Natsu walks into the room carrying Sora, Natsu and Erza following right behind him. Natsu cooes at Sora as he heads towards his mother.

"Someone is really hungry, the cute little thing." Natsu says handing him over.

"Thanks Natsu, welcome back Laxus. How was the trip?" Wendy asks holding Sora close to her chest.

Laxus looks guilty and lowers his head, "I'm sorry I wasn't able to get Mest back to you in time."

"Ah- Laxus! Don't worry about it, I don't blame you! I don't blame anyone! You're all back saftly, that's all that matters to me. Please don't feel too bad!"

Laxus looks up, a small smile on his face. He quickly huffs and drops it, straighting up his back. Erza takes a step forward and stares at Mest.

"I'll be going over all our goods and make sure we can get the best prices we can. I'm pleased to find out that abaonding your wife wasn't for nothing."

Mest flinches.

"Erza! I told Mest to leave so he could buy our dream home! Don't be mean to him, he was just providing for his family! And now Maggie, Sora, Dorabolt, and I will have a roof over our heads!"

Erza looks down, cheeks flustering a little bit. Mest's blinks rapidly as he looks over at his wife. Her eyes are determined, cheeks puffed out, no one gets to be mean to her husband. He leans over and kisses the side of her head, whispering his thanks.

"About that dream house, the work we've been doing is almost done. We started lagging a bit after Sora and Doranbolt was born, because they're so cute they required all our attention, but we'll stop slacking off. It should be done by the end of the week." Natsu informs them.

"Thanks Natsu," Wendy grins over.

"Work? What are you talking about?" Mest asks.

"Oh Mest, after you left I started talking to the owners of the house. They were this sweet elderly couple; they used to live their with all their kids, but once the kids grew up and moved out they moved to a smaller home. They were the nicest couple and when I told them how I wanted the house for my family they offered to save the house for us. They gave us full permission to work on it and get it ready for us to live in. Make sure to be extra nice when you go to pay them, and take Natsu with you. They really like him."

"Everyone really likes me Wens, I'm a likable guy." Natsu grins.

Laxus snorts and Natsu turns his head, "excuse me Laxus?! Did you say something?!"

"Now, now, no fighting in front of the children. We'll take our leave now so you can finish feeding. When Mirajane returns I'll have her send Magnolia up."

"Thanks Erza! You too Laxus and Natsu, thanks for everything."

"No problem Wens, that's what family does." Natsu grins at her.

Everyone piles out of the room, closing the door behind him. Wendy drops her shirt again, Sora latching onto her in an instant. Mest sighs out and rests his head against the bedframe.

"I can't wait to finally be able to move in. I gave Natsu a lot of pointers on how the house should look like." Wendy smiles up at him.

"Tomorrow I'll go check on it with him after I meet the owners. It seems you were pretty busy yourself while I was gone?"

"What? I couldn't help it. I know, I know, bed rest, but they wanted to hear all about you Mest! And they abolustely loved Maggie, I'm pretty sure she's the reason why they were so sweet and nice on selling me the house... we will be able to afford it, right?"

"Yes Wendy, of course. We really hit the jackpot with our treasure map. If it wasn't for the typhoon we ran into we would have been here on time."

"Typhoon?"

"Yup, it came out of nowhere and nearly destoryed the Dreyar. I was determined to make it back home to you though. No storm, nor typhoon, could stop me from that."

"Is everyone alright? That sounds serious Mest!"

Doranbolt cries out loudly hearing the destress in her mother's voice. His brother crying makes Sora start to cry as well and soon the two parents have two crying babies. Mest stands up and bounces Doranbolt in his arms while Wendy rocks Sora back and forth.

"I'm sorry babies, Mommy is sorry," she whispers.

"There, there Doranbolt. You're alright. Everyone is alright. It may have been a little bit of a scare, but we all made it through just fine. The Dreyar only got damaged a little, just the sails. Another reason why we were so slow in returning, but everyone was alright Wendy."

"Thank goodness, you hear Daddy Sora? All your Aunts and Uncles are just fine. You're going to see them and they're going to absolutely love you."

Sora sniffs and stops crying, his bottom lip quivering. Wendy cooes softly and kisses his little cheeks, holding him close to her chest again.

"Double the work. I'm going to miss you sleep," she sighs to herself.

"No, you won't. I'll be taking care of the two of them while you stay bed rest. You deserve it for doing such an amazing job with these two. Thank you Wendy for making me a father again."

Wendy giggles softly and stares at her husband, "you're welcome Mest."

LINE

"Daddy!" Magnolia cheers when he opens the door.

"Shhh, baby, hi Maggie. Mommy and your brothers are sleeping, so we have to stay quiet," Mest whispers bending down.

He picks her up and hugs her closely to his chest, kissing her all over. Maggie giggles and then whispers oopies, holding a finger to her lips.

"Mommy sleep?"

"Yes, Mommy sleep."

"Do-do and So-so sleep too?"

Mest laughs at the nickname, "yup, sleep too."

"Oh, sorry."

"No problem baby, let's go someplace else. Hey Mira, thanks for watching her."

"Of course Captain, I'd do anything for this little angel. Welcome back. I heard the trip was very successful."

"Yup, but hardly worth missing the birth of my sons. Do you think you could keep an eye on Wendy and the babies for me?"

"Absolutely, I was planning on peeking on them anyway right now. I can't get enough of those rosy cheeks. If you plan on being gone for more than an hour send Jellal my way. We try to make sure Wendy isn't alone because of the doctor's orders."

"Thanks, you're a saint. Come on Maggie, you get to go do business with Daddy."

"Hooray for Daddy!" She cheers.

Mest flinches and closes the door behind him, heading for the dining hall. He looks around and seems most of his crew around... kind of. The main people he wanted to see were here, but for an announcement like this he would need all of them.

"Hey Natsu, do you think you could spread the world? Captain meeting? It's very important, but if they're doing something imporatn then it can wait. Maybe try to meet here at four?"

"Sure thing Captain, hey there cutie. Hey I talked with the owners of the house and they've agreed to see us tomorrow. Erza said she'd have the money before then, so we'd be good."

"What time?"

"Noon."

"Alright, thanks Natsu."

"Of course... so this is really it, huh? I won't be calling you Captain for much longer." Natsu mumbles.

Mest looks over at him and frowns slightly, "sorry Natsu, but I'm afraid not."

Natsu sniffs and shakes his head, "no worries! I'm not so sad! I knew it would happen sooner or later! It was great being able to sail again with you after Maggie was born. I'm sure we'll be going on other adventures as well!"

"Don't you know it."

"I'll start getting the guys then, hopefully they aren't far. Bye, bye Maggie, I'll see you soon."

"Bye, bye Natsu," Magnolia coos waving her hand back.

"So Maggie, what do you want to do with Daddy for the next half an hour?"

"Play!"

Mest chuckles and kisses his daughter, "let's play then."

LINE

Mest hums lightly as he brushes Magnolia's hair. She sits on top of the table playing with her dollies, talking and babbling with them. The dinning room is filled to the bring with his crew, nearly everyone here. They're still missing Freed, Bickslow, and Evergreen... who just enter alongside Laxus. Wendy is still in bed with their sons, Lisanna volunterring to watch them now. Everyone is here now... so this is it. He puts the brush down and clears his throat, calling everyone's attention.

"Hello everyone! First off I would like to thank you all for everything you've done for Wendy. I know it was horrible that I wasn't here, so for you all to be there for her and watch over her... you have no idea what it means to me. Thank you," Mest starts bowing down to them.

His crew laughs and hollars at him.

"Of course!"

"She's one of us Captain, it was our pleasure!"

"No problem at all!"

"Try not to miss the birth of your next one, got it?!"

Mest chuckles as he leans back up. He takes a deep breath and reaches for the hat on top of his head. Slowly he takes it off of his head and stares down at it. He's been the captain of this crew for four (check) years... it all seemed so long ago... it was a good run.

"I gathered you all around here, with Natsu's help, thanks Natsu, so we can discuss what's going to be happening soon. As I'm sure all of you know, Wendy loves this place and I bought a house for her and our family. We plan on settling down here in Magnolia where the first captain of Vermillion, Mavis Vermillion, used to live. It isn't going to be a year break until the twins are old enough, or anything like that... this is going to be permanent. Fairy Tail is going to need a new captain. Of course I'll still go on adventures whenever you guys make port here again."

"I think you mean whenever Wendy gives you permission!" Elfman calls out making everyone laugh out loud.

Mest chuckles and nods his head, "yeah, yeah, very funny... this is the end of an era. Of me being captain for good. I can't thank each of you enough for following me and I hope I was a captain you all were proud of. I know I was proud to call all of your my crew."

He feels tears well up in his eyes and turns away. Some of them are not strong enough, a few tears fallign down their cheeks, a lot of throats clearing. Mest takes a big breath and looks ahead again, holding his hat out for Erza.

"I would like to make Erza Scarlet the new Captain of Fairy Tail Pirates."

Erza walks up to Mest and lifts one of her hands. Everyone is shocked when she lowers his offer, shaking her head.

"Mest, you were the best captain I've ever had. It was a pleasure being your first mate and was an honor that you named me captain after you, that you want to do it again. I'm afraid to tell you though that I can't accept because... well... I'm pregnant." Erza smiles softly, hugging her belly.

It's quiet in the room before everyone explodes out. Magnolia jumps up and starts crying out loudly, crawling over to her father. Mest picks her up, but his face is completely slacked as he stares at her. Jellal walks over to Erza's side and wraps an arm around her waist, pressing a kiss against her temple.

"Everyone listen up please. Please settle down... SHUT UP!" Erza screams when eveveryone keeps acting crazy.

It gets dead silent and Erza glares out to the crowd.

"Good. Mest, when we came back to get you guys and little Maggie got to go on adventures with us... Jellal was completely smitten by her, as was a lot of folks. He wanted a daughter too and after we discussed it... here we are. We're looking for a warm place to call our own here, so it looks like we'll be neighbors." Erza smiles at him.

Mest's jaw drops, "what?"

"I was an outcase in my hometown, and Erza's home was burnt to the ground. We don't really have a place to call home. This place seems good enough, it can be our new home." Jellal tells him.

"Plus I'm sure Jellal's heart would break if she had to leave our little Maggie," Erza teases poking at her cheeks.

"So we're not only losing our captain and doctor, but also our first mate and her spouse?!" Max exclaims.

"Why am I the spouse?" Jellal frowns.

"Er- not exactly," Natsu says walking forward.

All eyes go to him and Mest cannot believe what is happening in front of him.

"I asked Lucy to marry me, finally, and she said yes. I've already found a spot for us to build our home outside of the town a bit. We plan on staying as well," he confesses scratching the back of his head.

"I'm sorry everyone. I planned on being in Fariy Tail until I was a least 40, but after Natsu proposed... I don't know. I started imagining a home and a child and wanted that more." Lucy sighs out dreamily wrapping her arms around Natsu.

"Is there anyone else who plans on staying?!" Gajeel yells out.

"The Strauss family plans to settle down! I think it's time for us. We were raised on that ship, been on it since I was ten, and I think I'm getting a bit too old to be a pirate." Mirajane giggles stepping forward, "I discussed it with Elfman and Lisanna. She's willing to stay with me, but Elfman will still be apart of Fairy Tail Pirates."

"I haven't had my full of being a pirate and showing off my manliness yet," Elfman smirks.

"Gray?" Juvia calls him.

Gray looks over and scratches his neck, "you sure you want it to be this place?"

"It doesn't have to be. Here, or where Lyon and Sherria plan on settling down in (). We're pretty close to there and Juvia figured you and Lyon would kill each other if you were neighbors."

Gray paled at being neighbors with his brother and shook his head.

"We can wait another year or two, Juvia is in no rush."

"Yeah, let's meet up with Lyon and adventure for a little while longer before we decide. Whenever that basterd decides to settle down we'll do the same."

Juvia giggles and nods her head, "yes Gray."

"Is that everyone then? Yes? Anyone else? No? Okay, I guess there's nothing else left to expect to say this... and I can't believe I'm saying this, but Laxus. I decree you the Captain of the Fairy Tail Pirates. Hey, now don't give me that look. I know you don't want the job, but if I name anyone else I'm sure everyone will die off in sea. I can only count on you."

Laxus grumbles as he walks over and snatches the hat from his hand, "whatever. I rather not die off at sea in a terrible death. Anyone have a problem of this?!"

No one says a word, but Bickslow, Evergreen, and Freed start cheering.

"Didn't think so. I'll discuss wit everyone later how long they want to stay here before we sail off again. Mest... you were a terrible captain and will not be missed."

Mest snorts and tries to kick Laxus, but misses as he moves away.

"Thanks Captain Laxus, I wish you the best of luck taking care of these knuckleheads... you're going to need it."

"Don't I know it."

Mest smirks at Laxus before looking out at the rest of his friends.

"Like I said this is the ending of an era, and the beginning to a new one. Long live Fairy Tail Pirates! Long live Captain Laxus!"

"Long live Fairy Tail Pirates!"

"Long live Fariy Tail Piratates!"

"To Laxus!"

"To Captain Laxus!"

Ah... this didn't hurt as much as last time. He's okay with this. His crew is going to be taken care of, his ship is going to be taken care of, they're going to be around for years to come... this isn't the end, but the beginning.

"I'm a little bit scared, okay, whoo, I've got this." Wendy says.

"I'm right here wife, there's not a chance you'll fall. Just take your time." Mest tells her.

Wendy looks up and nods her head. Slowly she gets out of her chair and stands on her feet. She stumbles a bit, her legs shaking a lot. Balance, balance, Wendy waves her hands around a second, Mest reaching out to catch her if she fell. She catches herself though and stands up tall.

"I did it," she whispers, eyes wide.

Mest laughs, "yes you did. You think you can take a step now? The doctor said not to overwork you. Just a small five minute work everyday."

"It hasn't even been five minutes yet Mest, I can do this. I want to see our new home."

"You will still see it if I carry you there."

Wendy rolls her eyes and takes a step forward. There we go, she did. She takes another step. Easy. Now if she could only walk faster then they'll make it within the next five minutes. Going at her pace though... it'd probably take twenty. She sallows her pride and reaches out, grabbing Mest's arm. There, that balance helps her stand up straight. Wendy holds onto him as she walks at a slow pace.

"Let's go!" She cheers.

"Tell me it gets to be too much," Mest says holding onto her tightly.

Step by step they start walking down the street to head to their new home. Natsu ran into their room today announcing the finishing touches had just been done. All of their things were brought over from the ship and apprently put away. Mest is hoping they didn't ruin anything. Wendy could care less and is just excited to see what their house looks like. It looked like a fancy dump before, but now? With everyone who had been working on it for the past few months... it should be a dream house.

"I'm so excited! They're going to bring the kids along later right? I want Magnolia, Sora, and Doranbolt to get used to their new rooms."

"We might have to do a little bit of shopping for their rooms first Wendy. I think they only fixed it so it was in living conditions."

"Well that's also going to be fun! I'm thinking a blue and white room for the twins, and of course whatever color Maggie wants for her room. I can already imagine all the stuffies and plushies. Charlie and Happy are going to need a little cat bed too."

Mest flinches and groans, "I forgot about the cats."

Wendy looks at him and giggles, "don't worry Mest. I'm going to let Natsu keep Happy while I keep Charlie. I'm just looking over him until he gets his own place. We'll only have one adorable cat instead of two."

"I rather have Happy," Mest mumbles to himself.

"How dare you, Charlie is a little angel."

"No our daughter is a little angel."

"See, this is why charlie doesn't like you. She can sense your hatred."

Mest sighs and shakes his head, turning the corner. Wendy recognzies the street and tries walking in a faster pace. Almost there, they are almost there. She recognizes this house, and this one, she sees her white fence and gasps.

"Mest! It's beautiful!" Wendy cheers throwing her hands in the air.

Mest blinks, having to admit the same thing. He wasn't expecting this. Before the fence was all damaged, the paint chipping off, the windows completely dirty and busted. It seems Natsu and everyone fixed the fence and gave it a new line of paint. The house got a new coat as well, painted a soft baby blue color. The windows looked bright new, the steps to the house were fixed, they repaved the walkway to the house, and even added a small garden in front of the house.

"Do you see it Mest?! Look! The garden was my idea! Now I'll be able to grow my herbs again! They even planted the ones from the Dreyar here!" Wendy cheers.

She leaves Mest side and takes a step forward, supporting herself on the fence.

"Come on Mest, what are you waiting for? Let's go and check it out!"

Mest follows after his wife, holding the fence open for her to walk in. He wraps an arm around her waist and helps her up the steps. He digs the key out from his pocket and unlocks the door, pushing it in. What he expected to find was a barren house. What he actually sees is furniture and a rug, pictures hanging on the walls, actually useful things inside.

"Did the old couple leave us all their old furniture?" Mest asks Wendy.

"No, I was told they sold it all. This place should have been empty. You don't think everyone got us some, do you?"

"I don't know. Here, hold on for a moment while I take a look around."

Mest leaves his wife's side and walks around the house. On the left is the living room and fireplace, couche and chairs there with a rug and table. Connected from there is the kitchen, kind of small, but stocked full of dishes. Around back in the door to the backyard, which looks in pretty good shape there too. Mest walks back around in the circle and meets up with Wendy again on the entrance where the upstairs is.

"Everything is fully furnished," Mest whispers in amazement.

"Did they just funish the first floor, or the whole house?" Wendy asks in amazement.

There was no way he was going to let her attempt to climb the stairs. Mest leans down and picks Wendy up, walking up the flight of stairs. Five doors down the hallway. The first one is a closet, the second one a refresher with towels and tolietrees stocked. The next room... Mest can't believe his eyes.

"Oh my gooness it's perfect!" Wendy squeals getting to her feet.

Everything is pink! And fluffy! All sorts of plushies on the floor, and there's a bookcase filled with children's books, and a small little bed with pink blankets and lots of pillows.

"This is everything I amagined for her! This must be Maggie's room!"

"This is too much," Mest mumbles and goes to the next room.

He opens the door and spots twin cribs lying in the middle of the room. The walls are painted a dark blue in here, dressers and a rocking chair in the corner.

"Oh my goodness! This room is even cuter! The twins are going to love this!" Wendy claps her hands, "what do you tihnk our bedroom will look like?"

Wendy turns around and uses the wall to enter the last room. She opens the door and finds... a familiar view. It looks just like her old home on the Dreyar. The same bed, the same rug, the same dresser. All her clothes were probably in there, even the window was in the very same exact location. It was just larger and square shaped this time. The only real difference was the room color; it was painted a dark brown color, but not enough to resemble to wood on the ship. Wendy walks over and sits down on the bed. She breathes out in relief and lays down in the bed. A few moments later Mest walks in and chuckles.

"Wow, now this is a sight for sore eyes. They did nice on this room... I can't believe them."

"I know, right? We're going to have to thank everyone for doing all this. Maybe it was a farewelll gift, or a congratulations on your wins gift. Doesn't really matter, I'm just so happy about it. Mest, we have a home."

Mest looks over at his smiling wife and sighs out in happiness. He kicks off his shoots and throws off his jacket, jumping up to lay on the bed. Wendy squeaks and giggles, rolling around to lay on his chest. She smiles brightly and rubs her hand against his chest slowly.

"What do you say we christen our new home?"

Mest raises an eyebrow at his wife, "seriously? I don't think we should in your condition-"

"Shhh, how about just a little fun then?"

Before he can say another world, she presses her lips against his warmly and holds him close.

"Everyone thank you, thank you so much!" Wendy cries out.

"Mommy why you crying?! Stop crying Mommy! Nats help Mommy!" Magnolia whines.

"Wendy, you're making Maggie sad. There's no need to cry, it's just a house."

"No it's not just a house! You've made us a home, all of you have, and just- I just," she tears her head away and tries to wipe all the tears away as best as she can.

"I think what Wendy is trying to say is thanks. Thank you, everyone. It's... perfect. We don't deserve this-"

"Psht," Erza snorts walking up, "don't deserve us? After taking care of us? After saving us how many times? After how much Wendy has done for us? This is the least we can do for you Mest, the very least."

"Mommy! Mommy!" Maggia cries.

Wendy turns back around and heads over, picking up her daughter. Maggie frowns lightly and taps her mother's cheeks, patting the tears away.

"Mommy okay?"

"Yeah, Mommy okay. She just got a little overwhelmed. You have a lot of good Aunts and Uncles, I hope you know that baby. You are going to be well taken care of for the rest of your life."

Wendy looks up at her friends and see the all smiling back at her. Yes, this is her family. It maybe be super large, and they all might be a little crazy, but this was the family she was supposed to have in this world. All of them right here.

"Well what is everyone just standing around for? Come in, come in! We should throw a welcome home party everyone! Let's go!" Wendy says heading back into the house.

"Whoo! Party!"

"Ah- Wendy, they just fixed the house. You sure it's a nice idea to invite them in to destory it?" Mest asks.

Wendy giggles and shakes her home, "it isn't home without a little of trouble and mayhem."

"Couldn't be spoken better myself, move along Mest. Come on Doranbolt, Auntie Erza is going to show you your new home."

"Time to fuck some thigns up! Just kidding Mest, don't look so worried. Hahahaha."

Mest groans as everyone walks on the inside. He runs a hand down his face, a small smile on his face, before he follows everyone back inside.

LINE

"You ready wife?"

Wendy takes a small breath, "in a minute. I just want to... take everything in one last time."

She looks around the room, staring at the pictures on the walls. Dozens of memories are hung up here. Magnolia's 10th birthday, the twins first time riding a bike, Erza and Jellal's first child, Natsu and Lucy's wedding, Mest's surprise birthday, Wendy pregnant with their fourth child, Gray surprising Juvia with a new home, Mirajane opening her bar with Lisanna, Magnolia' first date. So many memories, of them growing up, growing older, of their kids moving on.

"We had a wonderful life here," she whispers softly.

Mest walks over and wraps his arms around his waist, kissing her cheek softly. Even with the winkles and slight grey hair, he's still the most handsome man she knows.

"Yeah, it was pretty great. We can always return whenever you're ready."

"Psht, are you kidding me Mest?! I am ready to go! Four kids! I've raised for kids and they've grown into wonderful human begins, that's all I can do. I'm done, it's time for me to enjoy my golden days! Quick let's go before our kids change our minds!" Wendy cheers heading for the doors.

Mest chuckles and shakes his head, following after her. Still the curious litle spit fire princess she fell in love with. He grabs their bags and walks out after her. Wendy heads for the front door and holds it open for Mest, looping their arms together when they exit their home.

"Erza and Jellal are going to house sit, right?" Mest asks.

"Yes Mest, they promised to come clean and check once a week."

"And not Natsu, right? Especially not Natsu?"

Wendy giggles and shakes her head, "no, not Natsu."

"Good, I want our house intact for when we return."

She squeezes his home as they walk through the streets of Magnolia. Here Doranbolt and Sora took their first steps. Here Magnolia had her first date with the nice baker's son. Now she's married to him and with a child. This is where Doranbolt broke his arm playing on the tree. This is where Grandine spoke her first words. The dock shows up soon and Wendy admires it from afar. This is where she would wait for Mest to return home on those small adventures. This is where she would wait to see Fairy Tail's ship sailing back. She sees it docked there right now, waiting for her.

"It's going to be weird to be in the ship without Erza and Natsu and everyone."

"There will still be some familiar faces, Laxus, Freed, () and ()."

"Is it going to feel weird not being captain?" Wendy asks raising an eyebrow.

"Are you kidding me? Of course not."

"Sure Mest, I can already see you butting heads with (Laxus son)."

"Hey, if he wasn't a dummy like his father then this we would get along just fine. I'm telling you Laxus tells him stories and made him hate me."

"Hehehehehe, sure Mest. Come on, I can't wait to continue our adventure!"

"Let's just hope we don't get anymore surprises on our adventure. I'm way too old to be a father now."

"Old man- ow- ow- ow!"

Wendy whines as Mest pinches her cheek.

"I don't care if I am one right now, I don't want to hear you call me that ever."

"I love you old man." She mumbles.

Mest's eyes soften and he leans down, pressing their lips together, "I love you too old woman."

Wendy laughs and squeezes his arm tightly. They walk the last stretch to the docks and see a surprise waiting for them there. They've already said their good byes to everyone before. There was a party, and tears shed, which seemed like it lasted a week... which it did. Still, it was heartbreaking seeing their children standing there at the docks speaking with the crew.

"Mom!" Magnolia cheers running over.

"Maggie? What are you doing here? What are all of you doing here?" Wendy asks, hugging her first born.

"Well we had to watch you go! It's tradition! You and me would always watch Dad leave on his little adventures. We couldn't break that now, even though you're the one leaving with him." Magnolia sniffs, tears appearing in her eyes.

"Oh Maggie, come now. It isn't forever. Me and your father are just going on our second honeymoon of sorts."

"Our long overdue second honeymoon, gonna miss you little girl. Be sure to take care of everyone while we're gone." Mest tells her.

"Oh Dad!" Magnolia cries hugging him next.

"I have to see, it's pretty cool that you and Dad are doing this mah." Doranbolt says hugging her next.

"Yeah, you two are going to be totally bad ass. Too bad we never got into the pirating ourself, huh Doranbolt?" Sora asks hugging her as well.

"Boys, you two stay out of trouble. You two better settle down by the time we come back."

"We make no promises," Sora and Doranbolt laugh at the same time.

Wendy rolls her eyes and pushes them away before reaching out for Grandine next. Her last little miracale. The spitting imagine of Wendy, dark blue hair, dark brown eyes, the gentilest smile in the world.

"You going to be okay out there Mom?" Grandine whispers, "i know it''s your dream and all and that you promised to return once we all become old enough, I just can't help but feel that it's too soon though."

"Of course baby. This isn't going to be forever. Your father and I have done this for a long time, we're going to be just fine."

"Well I'm not. I'm going to miss you so much Mommy!"

Wendy sniffs and hugs her close to her chest, "me too Grandine. Me too. I promise though, we'll be back before we know it. We'll be here with you again and I'll be waiting for you to give me a big hug welecome home."

"I promise Mommy. Daddy, I love you so much!" Grandine cries throwing her arms around him next.

With their final good byes Mest and Wendy enter the Dreyar again. Laxus is standing their with a smirk on his face, welcoming back his favorite members. As they sail off Wendy and Mest look over and wave their children good bye.

"Oh, this is so hard. I'm glad none of them decided to be pirates. I wouldn't be able to handle this all the time." Wendy sniffs.

"Yeah, we did a pretty good job raising them... well, I'm done being sad! We're free Wendy, we're free! Let's go hunt for some buried treasure and get into lots of fights and drink ourselves blind!" Mest cheers picking her up.

Wendy squeals as she spun around and around, closing her eyes tightly to not get dizzy. Mest stops and leans his head up, kissing her lips softly.

"You ready to start another adventure wife?"

Wendy smiles softly and kisses him again, "with you by my side husband, always."

And so their new adventure begins.

THE END
