Amalgamation
Izuku was very certain that if not for Inferno, he would regret wearing his hero costume on a warm April day. As it was, Inferno allowed him to regulate his body temperature and he had very high resistance, borderline immunity in actuality, against heat. His classmates weren't so lucky, even though the excitement was ripe in the bus as they rode towards an offsite of the campus for rescue training, many were bothered by the heat.
In many ways, expected and unexpected, U.A was a very different experience for him. In his middle school, Izuku had tended to keep to himself, so no one ever really bothered him much, he had been something of a loner. U.A was much different, here was somewhat popular amongst his class. It was a little unusual, or perhaps not. People with powerful quirks tended to be more popular than others, but this was U.A. Everyone here had a powerful quirk, in their own ways so he had not really expected to stand out as much as he did so early.
"Midoriya?" Asui, the resident frog girl called him.
"What is it?" Izuku regarded her with a smile.
"I tend to be blunt and say what is on my mind,'' she warned him making him nod with a little wariness. "Your quirk, it is quite a lot like Endeavor, is it not?"
Izuku was pretty sure Todoroki was staring at him from somewhere within the bus. "Wait wait, fire quirks are common though." Thank you Kirishima Izuku whispered in his head. Comparisons to Endeavor were well and good but he wasn't liking where this was going.
"Hmm, common fire quirks are simple and one-dimensional. Maybe someone can breathe fire, maybe someone can shoot fire from their hands." Asui stated out loud with a hand on her chin. "Midoriya, on the other hand, can generate and control his fire from his entire body, no? Not a lot of people or even pros out there who can do that ribbit."
"Now that you put it like that." It was Kaminari who spoke up, now everyone's attention was on him. Asui was quite smart after all, and she was right as well. Not many fire quirks even came close to the power and application of his Inferno.
"Not that it's a secret or anything," Izuku mused out loud. "I am a full-on pyrokinetic."
"Wait, what does that mean?" Kaminari asked out loud.
"It means, he can create and control his flames with his mind. Kinda like telekenisis."
"Not entirely." Yaoyorozu interrupted. "The definition of Pyrokinesis has changed over the years since the emergence of quirks. Before the era of quirks, Pyrokinesis referred to the fictional ability to be able to create and control fire with your mind. While not strictly psychic, it was considered to be a psychic ability by many. However, with the emergence of quirks, those imaginary fictional abilities became a reality. Now, Pyrokinesis simply refers to the ability to be able to create and control fire or just being able to control fire. No longer it is considered to be an ability of the psychic nature." That was impressive, even he wasn't aware of that particular information. Izuku wondered just how much had changed in the years after quirks had become a reality. 'It must have been a chaotic time.'
"Every day you convince me that your quirk is super intelligence instead of creation." Mina complimented from the back making Yaoyorozu flush. She truly was socially inadept, even more so than himself.
"Psychic or not, Midoriya's fire sure is a flashy quirk, powerful to boot as well." Kirishima complimented, "Nothing like my Hardening. It's too bland."
"Stop downplaying yourself," Izuku chided lightly. "You quirk is the closest thing to perfect defense and has pretty amazing offensive potential too. The very fact that you can take absurd amounts of punishment and still keep standing makes you a hero. After all, a hero is meant to protect people right? As for being popular, keep being yourself, you have an amazing personality for a hero... people will flock to you as it is."
Enhancer quirks were among his favorite types of quirks. Simple but multifunctional. When he was young, he had wanted to design an enhancer type of quirk, just like All Might, to be his official quirk. His father had denied him that. His reasoning had been that Izuku randomly developing a particularly strong enhancer quirk despite his parents having a fire type and a telekinetic quirk would be too suspicious. 'Yea right, more likely you were just being petty against my admiration of All Might.'
Either way, he had several enhancer quirks. Even though he didn't use them very often, he still had a special spot for them. Enhancer quirks were his first crush so to speak. To call them bland or boring always set him off.
"Aww, Kirishima is blushing!"
"Midoriya too, is this what they call a bromance?"
"Still, if we are talking about being a pro, the closest ones in our class would be Midoriya, Todoroki, and Bakugo." Izuku wasn't sure who said that but it was likely a bad idea. Bakugo didn't like being counted behind anyone when it came to the topic of being a hero.
"Bakugo's too unhinged," Asui argued against whoever had stated that. "He'll never be too popular at this rate ribbit."
"What the fuck did you just say to me frog face?!" Bakugo yelled from the back of the bus.
"Man, it's amazing how we've only known you for like two days and most of us already know your personality is like sewage dung." Kaminari joked dryly.
"How about I throw you off the fucking bus you dumb Pikachu cosplayer extra?!"
"You can't continue to call people you don't know extras Kacchan," Izuku remarked with amusement shining in his voice.
"Fuck off nerd! I'll blow your ass up too! I am gonna be the greatest hero ever!" Bakugo shouted for anyone to hear. As far as ambition went, Izuku knew Bakugo was pretty much unmatched. Izuku doubted even he wanted to be the best as bad as Bakugo. He was too much of a perfectionist.
"Bakugo, cease the cursing. It is unbecoming a U.A student!"
"Fuck off you four-eyed car engine! I am gonna take that stick from out of your ass and make you choke on it!"
"That's enough, we are here." Aizawa-sensei's dry voice cut through the chatter. As he was heading into the facility Izuku wondered if Aizawa was aware of his relationship with Tachibana Hoshi. The old man was not very talkative but he did mention a few times that Eraserhead had interned with him during his time at U.A once. Though he hadn't returned for anymore he did ask for tips when he had gone pro. Izuku wondered if he had any contact with the old man but then discarded the thought. Yui would have known and told him about it if Eraserhead was talking to her father.
''I was waiting for you, everyone!''
"It's the space hero, Thirteen!" Ochaco gushed loudly beside him. "She is like my main inspiration for being a hero." Izuku grinned in response. Thirteen was cool indeed but she was also one of the people he would hate to ever go up against. After all, how would you even fight against a black hole?
"If it's so powerful then just take it already."
Izuku's eyes snapped wide open. What the hell was that? Had he just imagined that? No... he was certain he had heard a voice in his head. A voice he didn't recognize.
"I am your voice of reason, brat." The same dry tone spoke again as Aizawa-sensei and Thirteen whispered to one another. Izuku grit his teeth, he was going crazy. "Chin up brat... All for one is sending you a gift. Things are about to be very interesting around here."
Izuku's body had frozen shut in that instant. For a moment, he was just there... no thoughts, no feelings... nothing but emptiness. At that moment, Izuku merely existed. Then came the fear, Izuku was certain his body was shaking. He wanted to deny it... rage at himself for believing the voice in his head. Izuku was certain he would prefer if he was just going crazy. Then the terror passed, and certainty set in.
Surprisingly enough, Izuku felt as if he had always known... in some corner of his mind, he had always known that his father was alive.
"Who are you?" Izuku whispered to the voice in his head.
"What's that Deku?" Uraraka asked pointing towards something down in the middle of Usj.
"What's that? We starting already?" Kirishima's voice cut over the chatter loudly. For the second time in just a minute, Izuku felt himself being shocked to his core, he recognized that misty portal. Izuku stood shocked still as Aizawa-sensei, no, as Eraserhead jumped down to tackle the horde of villains. He was dimly aware of being led towards the exit by Thirteen along with the rest of the class when Kurogiri appeared in front of the whole class.
''Greeting,'' announced the black mist in a soft voice. ''Forgive our audacity but today..." A pair of yellow eyes landed at him and Izuku could feel the recognition burning in them.
'I should have worn my gas mask to hide my face.' Izuku thought rushing into action before Kurogiri could give his identity away. He was also aware that he wasn't the only one, Bakugo was jumping alongside him. Izuku could see the mist beginning to move in surprise when he unleashed a torrent of fire to where he knew Kurogiri's body was anchored.
The mist was still faster, he felt a cool breeze pass over him as darkness took over his vision.
'Father is still alive.' Izuku thought with resignation. Kurogiri was right here which meant his father was behind this whole attack, and if Izuku wasn't careful he would be teleported right back to him.
"Deku!"
Now that he thought about it, why didn't Kurogiri teleport him to their base instead of wherever he was when he had jumped into his mist like an idiot. What actually stops Kurogiri from announcing his real identity to his entire class? Forcing him to leave with him or be arrested?
"Oy Deku!"
Izuku was dimly aware that he was panicking. Most likely shaking like a leaf too. 'Am I crying?' Izuku wondered as he felt wetness over his cheeks before he felt himself being dragged to his feet and slapped across his face.
"What the fuck is wrong with you?" Bakugo was yelling at him. "Do you wanna die, you damn nerd? Get a fucking hold of yourself, you idiot."
As Bakugo was screaming at him, Izuku took a moment to take a deep breath. 'Grab a hold of yourself, Midoriya Izuku!' This was no place to lose his composure. He felt the familiar sensation of all his quirks, all of his power beneath the surface as a sense of security rushed over him.
"I am sorry about that Kacchan," He freed himself from his oldest friend's grip. "Is this the downpour zone?" He asked as he surveyed his surroundings. The area they were in was a replica of an urban city, full of buildings and a raging storm over them.
"Tch," Bakugo just grunted in annoyance. "It could be a fucking coincidence that the misty bastard sent us two of all people here in a downpour zone."
"We have to assume it was no coincidence." He said in response cracking his neck. This was good, focus on the now, forget about Kurogiri and his father. "In which scenario, sending the two students whose quirks would be hindered by the downpour of rain means they have info on our quirks."
"Fuck info," Bakugo scoffed. "If they grouped us two together, it also means they have no idea of our actual strengths and who we are."
Just before he could reply Izuku noticed a group of villains surrounding them. They were in the open, with buildings on all sides. That was no good, they had no idea how many there actually were.
"Kachhan, did you notice?"
"Who do you take me for? A useless Deku like you?" Bakugo scoffed before he grinned. "Scum is all out in the open, they have no strategy nor any formation. They are just randomly surrounding us, expecting the rain and their numbers to overwhelm us. Raise the heat damn Deku!"
"Heh, the explosion brat is smarter than I gave him credit for."
Izuku ignored the voice as he grabbed Bakugo's outstretched hand. Inferno came to life as he raised Bakugo's body temperature and that of their surroundings. It was like a switch had been turned on. The rain was now evaporating before it ever hit them. Since Bakugo's quirk worked by igniting his sweat, the heat was gonna make him even more powerful despite the rain.
"That good enough Kacchan?" He asked sarcastically.
"Watch the fireworks Deku!" Bakugo grinned manically before he rushed headfirst into the group of villains. "Die!"
Izuku just stood by watching the explosions go off as Bakugo tore through the villains. Just as they had expected, mere thugs. Strong villains generally did not work in groups of dozens, mostly due to pride. Izuku watched the lone villain that had been trying to circle around them and ambush them from behind. His body came alive with so much heat that it made him stop in his tracks. Fire extended from his feet and formed a ring around the now terrified villain, trapping him right where he was.
"You know? Today was supposed to be our rescue training... yet here we are, in need of rescue." Izuku shook his head at the irony of it all. "I am sure you have been told my quirk is some form of flame generation or such, am I right?"
"Fuck you kid," The man snarled. "I ain't afraid of you."
"Have to say, I agree with the idiot. You are not a very scary brat."
"I am not trying to scare you." Izuku shook his head. "I am merely trying to make you understand the situation. You see, one of the more unknown aspects of my quirk is heat manipulation." He continued, trying to act the way Bakugo would. The lives of his classmates were in danger. Now was not the time to be sentimental. "It would take me roughly ten seconds to raise your body temperature to just the point where it feels your blood is boiling without actually doing so. How do you think it would feel? How long do you think it would take for me to slowly cook your body from the inside out?"
Izuku did his best impression of Bakugo in response to the shaking man. "Wanna die you scum?!"
As it turned out... he did not want to die from being boiled inside out. As he had expected, the man was a thug off this street. Recruited by Kurogiri, picked up for the sole purpose of being cannon fodder and killing some "defenseless kids" as he was told. He knew nothing of his employers, not even their base of operations. He was just given the name League of Villains and was told to come to a certain address from where they were all teleported to Usj.
'The League of villains?' Izuku frowned. 'Wasn't this the same name that man I came across the first day of school was given? Had I came across Kurogiri unknowingly?'
"You said the goal was to kill All Might, how?" Izuku questioned. "I am sure even you are not dumb enough to think you can do it."
"The b-big guy in the back, the one with a bird's head." The thug stammered, most likely feeling very uncomfortable by the subconscious heat he was giving off. "W-we were told that thing c-could take All Might."
Izuku punched the man in response hard enough to knock him out. "What do you think Kacchan?"
He turned to look at Bakugo who frowned seeing him as if trying to figure out a puzzle. "Buncha mooks, as if trash like this could kill All Might."
"I think it's best if we split up, K- the warp guy is their ticket out of this, right?" Izuku explained hoping Bakugo didn't pick up on his stumble. "I think you should take him out while I head to the central plaza and see if Aizawa-sensei needs any help."
"Who the hell do you think you are giving orders to Deku?!"
"Ah, it's nothing like that, Kacchan," Izuku waved his arms in surrender. "It's just that you have better mobility than I do to keep up with his portals while I am better suited fighting large groups of people in an open spot." He explained his reasoning which was partially true. The truth was that he simply didn't wish to risk Kurogiri kidnapping him. Most likely the only reason he had not sent him straight to their base was that Bakugo was beside him and that he had taken Kurogiri by surprise.
"You really should put this one in his place brat. Maybe take his quirk away for a few weeks."
"Tch I was planning on going after that misty fucker in the first place," Bakugo responded heatedly as he started to walk away.
"You noticed the plates, right Kacchan?"
"You wanna die?! Of course, I noticed the plates! How could you miss them?!" Bakugo yelled back before he stopped for a brief moment. "When we get out of here, you and I are gonna have a long talk Deku." With that ominous statement, Bakugo walked away, leaving him a little confused for a moment. Izuku shook his head, now was not the time. Making sure no one was around him. Izuku pulled on Bio-Manipulation to reinforce his leg muscles and bones along with using Calory Burn to rush off towards the central plaza as fast as he could.
Izuku found himself crouching behind a rock to the side of the central plaza. The whole area was littered with bodies, unconscious, with broken bones, some with broken spines lying on awkward angles. Others had their necks broken by Eraserhead's capture weapon, Izuku swallowed the bile bubbling up in his throat. This is not the time to think of that.
"Hmph so distracted by a couple of broken bones? What an insufferable brat."
There were three only three villains actually worth any danger in the plaza. Most of the thugs were either unconscious or too scared to attack. The giant creature was standing still while the tall skinny one covered in hands seemed to be lurking on the edge of the battle watching. There was one more... Izuku felt his heart beat faster... 'He is staring right at me.'
He realized with cold terror in his stomach. There were legends of people with such bloodlust that they could knock people out merely by their intention to kill them. At that moment, Izuku realized it was a little different than that. The thing that froze him was not the bloodlust, to be honest, there was none from the short villain in black. No, the cause of fear was the absolute certainty that if he fought the one in black... he would die. 'There stands someone before me who could kill me if he wishes to.'
"Afraid so easily? Weak."
Izuku's attention shifted from the short one to the villain covered in hands rushing at Eraserhead. Calory Burn worked its charm and some energy rushed towards his ears, enhancing his hearing.
The villain closed in Eraserhead grabbing his elbow just before he was hit. "You are really cool, Eraserhead... but you are not suited for prolonged levels." His voice was unexpectedly raspy as if his throat was full of gravel. Izuku watched in startled horror as the skin started to peel of Eraserhead's elbow. The telltale glow signs of Eraser came to life as Eraserhead kicked the villain away. Eraserhead even with a useless arm, weaved and ducked kicking and punching the street thugs rushing at him.
"By the way Eraserhead," The one-covered hands spoke again. "I am not the boss here."
Having seen enough Izuku moved as fast as he could but the bird-headed creature was even faster. 'I won't reach in time.' In which case, "Eraserhead-sensei dodge!" Hoping it was enough, Izuku launched two fireballs at the creature that exploded in flames the moment they connected with it.
"Midoriya?! What are-" Thankfully enough, Eraserhead was fast enough to dodge back. Izuku rushed into the flames building as much power as he could. 'If this thing is truly powerful enough to be able to fight All Might, then I can't afford to hold back.'
Feeling his hands come into contact with the creature. Izuku burnt. His whole body came alive with fire. 'I am fire. My inferno is rage.' Those were the only thoughts in his head as the flaming hell descended upon the plaza. Izuku was hoping Eraserhead had backed away as he let simmering fire beneath the surface burn and simultaneously pulled all the flames within USJ to his location.
Eraserhead would never admit but at this moment he was wishing All Might had been here. He was tiring, his stamina had run out a while ago, and the numbers were beginning to wear him thin. A small scratch here, a push there and the injuries had begun to pile up too. The only thing that had him going was adrenaline and his students. He had to buy as much time as possible for them to get away. Eraserhead ignored the burning pain in his limp elbow as he felt his body slowing down.
"Eraserhead-sensei dodge!" It was only years upon years of honing his reflexes and instincts that allowed him to jump back. Just where he was standing a moment ago now stood the big villain of the group. A moment later fire exploded all around him. Eraserhead was forced to step back from the sheer heat, he felt as if he may just burn if he kept standing there.
"Midoriya?! What are-" Eraserhead began noticing the distinct mop of green hair rush into the flames. 'You fool!' Eraserhead yelled in his head before he used his capture weapon to gain as much distance as he could. A moment later more fire than he had ever imagined possible exploded in the center of the plaza and it was getting bigger by the second. From the side of his eye, he could even see flames from the fire disaster zone flying over to the central plaza. It was like a scene from hell.
'Midoriya must be pulling the heat and fire to the center to keep it from spreading.' Eraserhead realized because there was no way this much fire wouldn't have harmed him by now. His throat and skin were so dry that he knew if even scratched his cheek, it would draw blood. Eraserhead flicked his eyes towards the side of the plaza where the villain covered in hands seemed to be raging while the short one in black stood as still as ever. That one worried him, there was something about him that set his instincts on edge.
Midoriya seemed to be fine if a little winded as he backed out of the fire. Eraserhead wanted to run in there, pull him back but with so much heat, he would be dead before he got in an arm's length of his student. Eraserhead instead chose to focus on the two villains on the side because there was no way the big one was still alive. He was certain a few of the unconscious villains in the plaza had burned to ash as consequence. He felt shame burn in his heart at thought of a student forced to kill during their first week just to save him.
"Nomu! Kill the brat!" The monstrosity that was the Nomu came rushing out of the fire as some sort of a demon from hell. Eraserhead could not believe his eyes, half of the creature was little more than burnt muscle and bone. Half of its chest and stomach were gone and its left leg was just bone while its right arm seemed to be made solely of muscle. Astonishingly, it was healing rapidly, regenerating its muscles and skin. 'Regeneration quirk? He is out of my range!' "Midoriya Run!"
The emerald-haired teen seemed frozen in place as the behemoth of a creature came to a crashing halt in front of him. The short villain in black had its arm held back with one hand. Faster than he could even blink the Nomu's arm was ripped off in half and the villain in black punched him off to the other end of the plaza.
'Did he just save Midoriya?! He is faster and stronger than that thing? Maybe even more so than All Might.'
"What the fuck are you doing? You traitor?!" The villain, no, more like man-child covered in hands shrieked in rage. "I'll kill you!" Just before he could move, the purple mist materialized before him.
"Who are you?" Eraserhead could hear Midoriya ask the one in black with wariness lacing his voice. The villain in black moved so quickly he was basically a blur. He backhanded Midoriya hard enough that his body went flying like a ragdoll.
Eraserhead bit his lip so hard he bled. 'Move already you useless fucking piece of shit!' Yet no matter how hard he tried to will himself to move, the heat would kill him before he ever got close. How the hell did that one was so unaffected? No... he squinted his eyes, his suit seemed to be melting and burnt from some spots. Eraserhead could see burnt and bubbling skin beneath it. He was not unharmed from the heat either. Eraserhead decided to throw caution to the wind move before more fire burst from Midoriya... this time, it was white.
Izuku's head was hurting. He had seen the hit coming. He was surprised that someone who had just saved him would attack him but no so that he had let his guard down. When the Nomu had survived all of his flames, he had braced himself for a fistfight... he knew Eraserhead was watching and that there would be questions... but the other alternative was to die.
However, just before the Nomu reached him... the other one was there. The one in black, the one who was watching him. He was fast, far faster than him and the Nomu. Strong too, Izuku thought dryly. One hit... that was what it took him to break through all of his natural passive enhanced durability. He felt as if he was hit by a truck.
"Seems to me you are in trouble brat... how about I lend you a hand?"
The voice spoke in his head as he felt himself losing control of his own body.
Chapter end.
Wanted to keep going until the end of USJ but that would be way too long. Cookie points if you can guess who the voice in Izuku's head is. Hint: It's not AFO but is related to him. Anyhow, I know people kinda don't like OC's but they are kinda needed here. Also, the voice in his head nor the villain in black are truly OC's... they have roots in the manga, kinda. It's hard to explain so keep reading to find out.
Midoriya Izuku-Quirks:-
All for One: The ability to take and give Quirks with a touch. The time it takes to acquire a Quirk depends on several factors such as the target's health, willpower, Quirk itself, and mental state. Further research is required.
Appraisal: Ability to research Quirk based on the information present to the user. If the user can acquire a certain amount of information this Quirk can fill in the blanks by itself and reveal almost everything about the target's Quirk. Note: the results provided may or may not be accurate depending on the data present to the user.
Inferno: Inferno is the result of a combination of several pyrokinetic Quirks. This amalgamation of Quirks is unique and has resulted in one of the strongest pyrokinetic Quirks in existence that allows its user the ability to generate, transmute, and manipulate fire. It also allows the user the ability to regulate heat in their vicinity, inside their own body, and extreme heat resistance. The true extent of the Quirk is currently unknown.
Spring steps: This Quirk allows its user to replicate the effects of a large spring from their legs. In particular, the user can absorb a great amount of force and reapply it in the opposite direction. Note: This Quirk does not turn the user's legs physically into a spring.
Bio Manipulation: Bio Manipulation is widely considered to be one of the most complex and complicated Quirks in existence. The Quirk allows its user's total and utter control over every single function of their body no matter how big or small. The user can manipulate their body down to their very genes. The downside of this Quirk is that the user must have full anatomical knowledge of their body and whatever process they are trying to manipulate. The true potential of this Quirk remains largely unknown. Additional data required.
Calory Burn: This emitter-type Quirk is largely energy manipulation-based. It allows its user to turn their calories into a unique signature of energy which can be used to augment the user's physical capabilities. How big the augmentation is up to the user and how much energy is allocated to which factor of their physical ability. The Quirk results in enhanced metabolism in its users and the intake of calories is dependant on its usage. The downside of the Quirk is noted to be excessive aggression if too much energy is produced in a short period of time. The limit of what is considered 'too much' is dependant on its user's mental and physical well-being along with their emotional state. The true extent of this Quirk's abilities remains unknown to this day as all of its users have been noted to become extremely aggressive, downright hostile, and have reported complete loss of motor function and memory loss of their actions before they could reach the maximum amount of energy produced. Note: There are no known physical side-effects of this Quirk's over-usage. All the side effects are noted to be psychological which is extremely unusual for a Quirk of this kind. Additional data and further research is required.
Several unknown Enhancer and possible Emitter type Quirks. Additional data required.
