...

Bulma fumed as she silently walked into the enclosure that could possibly be her living quarters for quite some time. A pale Chi-Chi stumbled beside her, the brunette was too distraught for words. The former heiress simply kept quiet as the officer escorting them had made it abundantly clear that he had no qualms about silencing her if necessary. If only Turles hadn't stolen the extra ship she created it was all that black- souled Saiyan's fault that she and poor Chi-Chi were in their current predicament.

"We're going to rot here in this prison while Gohan grows up to be a thieving scoundrel just like Turles!" Chi-Chi groaned as the door behind them clanged shut.

"Don't worry, Chi-Chi. I'll think of something!" Bulma declared with far more confidence than she actually felt.

"No thank you! I've already had quite enough of your brilliant ideas!" Goku's widow snapped.

Chi-Chi glumly plopped onto the pitiful hard excuse for a bed in the stark cell. A matching sheet covered rock was set across from it.

The mother of Gohan wrinkled her nose as an unpleasant smell suddenly reached her. To her consternation the scent was coming from the tray that was presently being carried in by one of the prison workers. Two steaming plates filled with an unidentifiable gray-green watery substance rested on the tray. Chi-Chi realized the sickly concoction that was placed on the single bare table in center of the cell was intended to be meals for her and Bulma! Could this possibly get any worse?

"That'll have ta' do ya til' tha' kitchen's open come morn'in!" the green serpentine being announced as he left the tray on the small table and was let out by the guard.

Chi-Chi could have cared less that there was no seating sans the "bunks" against the far wall. She had no intention eating a single bite of the loathsome swill. A rudimentary shower and waste disposal rested behind a small enclosure on the opposite side. The Ox-king's daughter actually found herself missing her small but comfortable room aboard Turles's ship. She curled up in a ball of misery on the hard surface she sat on.

Bulma pursed her lips into a tight line as she watched Chi-Chi's actions. The bluenette knew for a fact that she was blamed for their current situation. But how was she supposed to know that everything would go so wrong?

...

Daiz sighed as the first light of the approaching dawn slowly streamed into the window of his cell. There had been no sign of any attempt of rescue from Turles or his crewmates. Maybe the Saiyan had no spies in this particular region to swiftly bring word of his predicament and this time he was left to face the eminent end of his life. The Kabochan bowed his head obviously even the mighty Turles couldn't fix everything!

"Stinking Kabochan your time's up!" one of the prison guards crowed as he swung open the door. The scarlet crustacean being looked disappointed as Daiz rose to his feet without a word of protest.

'If he thinks I'm going to beg for my life he's got another thing coming!' Turles's second-in-command thought to himself.

Making a break for it would be pointless as the ki controllers around his wrists would render him practically helpless within seconds if he dared to do so. Daiz snickered as an entire squad was still used to escort him to the place of his demise. It gave his sorely bruised ego a boost to know he was still considered a threat. He marched along with his head held high. The youngest son of King Arnaiz would face his end as befitting a prince of Kabocha.

"I hope the blade's dull!" the crab-ling snorted.

Daiz cringed inwardly, 'With my luck it WILL be!' It just figured he'd end up in a place where they still used primitive means to dispose of their condemned criminals. Why couldn't he have just been taken out by a quick ki blast from one of the planet's law enforcement?

All too soon he entered a room with a blood-stained floor there was no mistaking its purpose. His life's journey had come to a dismal end.

The Kabochan fought to keep from giving a visible reaction to the wicked blade held by a tall figure clothed in a black cloth garment. He wouldn't allow his captors the satisfaction. An ebony mask that looked like a bizarre bovine skull with enormous horns concealed the executioner's face. Cold laughter tittered from the black garbed being as he shoved Daiz to his knees and raised the fearsome blade...

...

Bulma's teeth chattered as she dried her hair. The water in this place was freezing! Chi-Chi's scream earlier should have alerted her to that fact as the brunette had bolted to the cleansing area to be first in for a shower. The icy stream hadn't warmed up in the least from being used previously.

"Hurry up you two! This ain't no spa! You don't report in for breakfast in ten you can do without!" a female purple reptilian guard shouted. At least Chi-Chi supposed it was a female. The guard opened the cell door and barked another order.

"Line up behind the others and stay silent!"

Chi-Chi felt faint as she took her place behind a lifeform that appeared to be an oversized yellow housecat in a dingy shift that might have been white at a time long past. Aliens of every conceivable entity and hue rapidly joined the line.

"Move along and don't even think about causing any ruckus!" the purple lizard warned.

Bulma tried to make her way to accompany Chi-Chi but what looked like a blue two-headed wasp stepped in front of her. The young scientist made no move to pass them as there was no need to call attention to herself by seeming to be uncooperative. Surely she'd catch up with Chi-Chi when they reached the dining facility. Bulma's stomach lurched as she thought about what fare might be in store for them once they arrived if last night's offering was anything to make a comparison with...

...

Daiz braced himself as he felt the whoosh of air as the blade made its downward arc. But there was no sudden stab of pain the pirate felt his bonds slide from his wrists. The "executioner" vaulted over his head and mercilessly used his instrument of death to obliterate three of the squad who'd escorted Daiz to the Death Chamber. A grin lit the Kabochan's face as two of the guards tossed away their helmets to reveal the faces of Gartoas and Gohan!

Turles tore the black robe to shreds and flung the mask away. Daiz chuckled as he pretended to protest.

"You might keep that it's a good look for you!"

"I CAN put you back in your previous position!" the Saiyan snarled.

"TOUCHY!" the dark green-haired brigand chortled.

In no time at all the floor was littered with the bodies of the squad that had accompanied Daiz. Turles leveled a massive power wave to the room's ceiling. As alarms resounded about, the pirate commander and his crew took to the skies...

...

The Ox-princess took a seat in the massive dining area and gingerly poked at what appeared to be some kind of stew. Something squished under her finger and she felt her stomach heave.

"I think there's somethin' movin in there!" a pink hare-faced being seated beside her snickered.

"Where?" a panicked Chi-Chi gasped.

"Right THERE!"

The hare-ling shoved the hapless former denizen of Earth's face right into the bowl before her.

Chi-Chi's face burned with utter humiliation as the occupants of the tables around her burst into raucous laughter. Malodorous brown liquid dripped from her face and hair. She balled up her fists and launched herself into her tormentor...
