Dungeon Dice Monsters

Grandpa Muto was sweeping in the front of his store when Yugi came out, all ready for school. "Hey, Grandpa. I'm gonna be late for school. I gotta go." He told his grandpa before the old duelist sighed in disappointment. "What's the matter?"

But that was when Tea called out to her friend. "Hey, Yugi."

It had been a month since she and Mai had their 3 day lustful weekend together and it was a weekend she and her older girlfriend would never forget. And since then, Mai was spending as much time with Tea as she could, sometimes even having lunch with her at school. And today, Mai would be there again and Tea was planning to take her girlfriend to her house for a sleepover.

"Mr. Muto, good morning." Tea greeted her friend with a smile.

But Mr. Muto just scoffed. "Good for you maybe."

Tea leaned in and spoke quietly to her friend. "What's up with your grandfather? I've never seen him like this before. Is he sick?"

"I don't know, but he's been acting weird all morning." Yugi answered.

That was when Mr. Muto got between the 2 friends and said. "Okay, I'll tell you: I've endured many things in my life: I've been trapped in an ancient pyramid, stung by scorpions, attacked by Tibetan wolves, but nothing compares to this: a new game shop." Solomon said with disgust as he pointed to a game shop not far from his.

"A new game shop?" Tea asked.

Solomon crossed his arms and said with disgust. "They think they can drive me out of business selling their trendy new trash. But they have no respect for the gaming traditions, the true classics because they sell only the ones of today."

"Wow, I better go down there and see what we're up against." Yugi said with excitement.

But Solomon wasn't having that. "Don't even think about it!"

Later

During their walk to school, Yugi decided to check out the new game shop as Tea walked with her friend. "Yugi, if your grandfather finds out you've been here, you're gonna be so grounded."

"Aw, what's the harm in a little window shopping?" Yugi said with a smile before a woman handed him a piece of paper for a new game. "What's this?"

"Dungeon Dice Monsters." The woman answered.

"Wow! This looks like a pretty cool game, but I wonder how you play it?" Yugi asked with interest before Tea grabbed him and dragged him off.

"Yugi, come on, let's go. You're gonna make me miss my first class.. again. And I'm not going to be late for lunch because Mai is coming today." Tea told her friend.

But unknown to them, a teenager was watching from inside the shop with a grin on his face, specifically Yugi. "Hey, Duke, look, it's Yugi Muto. Hard to believe a pipsqueak like him could defeat the great Pegasus, huh?"

"Any cheater can win any game." The one named Duke answered.

"So, that spikey haired runt is the Duel Monsters champion. Hard to believe he's the only one who ever beat Pegasus at his own game." Duke's assistant said with an almost impressed voice. "But of course, he'd never be able to beat the even greater Duke Devlin at his own game. Isn't that right, Duke?"

"The die is cast, the trap is set, and soon I will duel Yugi on my battlefield. I'll strip him of his honor and expose that little worm as the cheater he is." Duke vowed while playing with a dice.

"Nice one. But I hope you know what you're getting yourself into, Dukey-Boy." Duke's manager said.

"I hired you to manage my new game shop, never to question me. And if I play my cards right, and I always do, it is I who will be the next King of Games." Duke said with a warning tone.

"When you're champ, that's when the money really pours in." Duke's manager said with eagerness for the money.

But Duke thought differently. "Money is for greedy fools like you. I'm after a much bigger prize: the total destruction of Yugi Muto."

Later on at the high school

After half of the school day was over and it was lunch time, Yugi, Tea, Joey and Tristan were in the cafeteria when Mai, with a visitor card, walked in and sat beside her younger girlfriend. She'd even brought her own lunch, which was a simple chicken salad and had brought Tea one as well. Mai and Tea agreed that when they ate lunch in the cafeteria to bring simple lunches to not make the other students jealous but would have more delicious lunches when Tea was not in school.

And in their free period, Yugi was telling them all about the new Dice Monsters game, which interested Joey. "Well bless my beating heart. You sure there's a new game shop?"

"Yeah. My grandpa's really worried about it." Yugi answered.

"It just opened. They've got all the latest and greatest games." Tea added. "They were really trying to hype this new one: Dungeon Dice Monsters."

"Hold on, you're telling me that they actually got Dungeon Dice Monsters?" Joey asked with surprise.

"When did you become an expert all of a sudden?" Tritan asked.

"A little something called the newspaper, genius."

"Hold on, you never read the newspaper." Tea said.

That got Joey a bit annoyed. "I read them when I'm out delivering them, okay?"

"Why are you delivering newspapers? Don't you still have that 2 million dollar prize from Duelist Kingdom?" Mai asked curiously.

"Well, I just deliver newspapers for a little extra cash, Mai." He answered before he turned serious. "Besides, I gotta save every penny of that prize money for my sister's operation."

That was when Tristan asked. "Hey, how is your sister Serenity doing?"

"She's doing great. The eye doctor says she's gonna see good as new. And the first thing she's gonna see is her big brother's face." Joey answered with happiness.

"Wow, Joey, that's awesome news." Yugi said with the same happiness.

But their happy moment got cut short by some of the other school girls in the next classroom, cheering in admiration for Duke, who was showing them 1 of his dice tricks, which he did with expert ease and perfection, impressing the girls.

Tristan asked the 2 boys sitting at a desk. "Hey, you guys know who that dice guy is?"

"Yeah, that's Duke Devlin. He owns that new game shop that just opened up." 1 of the boys answered.

"Wow, this guy's got it all." Tristan said.

But Joey was a bit jealous. "If there's 1 thing I hate, it's a guy who'll do anything to get a girl's attention. That guy's a filthy showoff."

"Hmmm... and I just thought you couldn't stand guys who were more popular with the girls than you." Tea said with sarcasm.

That got to Joey. "Listen, Tea, if I wanted to, I could be just as popular but I don't wanna stoop to the level of Devlin and I got more talent than he'll ever have."

"If you call talking with food in your mouth a talent." Tristan said, getting a reaction from his friend.

"Didn't you catch my moves in the Duelist Kingdom tournament, ya numskull?" Joey asked with a grin.

"Now you're adding luck to your list of talents?" Tristan asked.

Devlin seemed to overhear them and smirked, knowing that his plan had worked. He then walked up to them and said. "I don't wish to intrude, but I couldn't help but overhear you dabble in the game of Duel Monsters."

"Dabble, smabble. Listen up: if you knew the 1st thing about Duel Monsters, then you'd know Bandit Keith, the intercontinental champion. The guy was unbeatable and you should have seen me wipe the floor with him." Joey said, gloating about his victory over Keith but exaggerating on easily beating him.

"Good thing Joey's not a showoff." Mai said with an annoyed look on her face, along with Tea, Yugi and Tristan.

But Duke wasn't interested in Joey and looked at Yugi. "Well, what have we here? Are you Yugi Muto, champion of the Duelist Kingdom?"

"Yeah." Yugi answered with a smile.

"I've heard a great deal about how you play the game."

But then he was cut off by an annoyed Joey. "Hey, dicey, what have you heard about me, Joey Wheeler? Huh?"

"Nothing at all." Devlin answered. "But why don't we play a little game and you can show these lovely ladies what you're made of."

"What kind of game?"

"This." Devlin answered as he held up a cup and a dice. "This cup and dice are all we'll need to play the game. Are your talents up for the challenge?" He asked, much to Yugi's concern.

"When I beat that Duke guy, those girls are gonna be cheering Joey." Joey thought to himself. "All right, you're on."

"Then let's rock and roll." Devlin said before putting the dice in the cup and the cup on the nearby table upside down. "Using the power of my mind, I bet I can move the dice into my right hand without touching the cup."

Joey just grinned at that. "Unless you've got telekinesis, there's no way you can do what you're saying." He said, getting a nod from Yugi.

But Devlin wasn't phased. "You shouldn't underestimate me. Perhaps the dice is already gone."

Joey completely fell for it. "What?!"

"Beyond your comprehension. Why don't you look for yourself." Duke asked with a grin, knowing that he'd already won.

"Wise guy." Joey said as he went to lift the cup.

"No, Joey, it's a trick!" Yugi said, trying to stop his best friend.

But Joey had already lifted the cup and saw that the dice were still where it was. "It's still there." He said with confusion.

Devlin then picked up the dice with his right hand. "I moved the dice into my right hand and I never, ever had to touch the cup. That makes me the winner."

This, and the cheering from the other schoolgirls, got Joey a bit angry. "You're nothing but a dirty con artist! If you were a real man, you'd play a real game. I challenge you to a game of Duel Monsters."

"As you wish. But seeing as how this game is your specialty, I do have 1 very small condition." Devlin started.

"Okay. But no more funny stuff."

"I'm afraid I don't have a deck of my own." Devlin said, getting a pair of awwws from the schoolgirls.

"That's not my problem. You're the one with the new card shop." Joey told him.

"My condition is this: we open up new packs and create our own new Duel Monster decks. That's fair, even by your high standards." Devlin requested.

"What's fair about that? If you're not playing with your own cards, then the game's just pure luck." Yugi said before looking at his best friend. "Besides, there's many cards we've never even seen before."

But Joey wasn't concerned. "Have a little faith, pal of mine. Was I or was I not a finalist in the Duelist Kingdom championship?"

"Yeah, Joey, but I don't think-" Yugi tried to say before Joey looked at Devlin.

"I accept your condition." He said with overconfidence.

"Excellent. But playing a game for fun is so pointless. Let's make a little wadger: if I win, you have to do whatever I ask for an entire week." Devlin proposed.

"You got it, dicey boy. Because if I win, you gotta do whatever I ask, and I want you to close down your shop." Joey countered, making the school girls root for Devlin. "Forget it! No way I can lose to this showoff."

But the others weren't convinced. "He's toast." Tea started.

"Burnt to a crisp." Tristan added.

"Definitely." Mai added.

"Way in over his head again." Yugi concluded.

"You guys can't seriously think I'm gonna lose to someone with a dice in his ear. I'm 1 of the top ranked players in the whole world. I'm not some rookie who just brought home his first deck." Joey told his friends.

"You're good, Joey, but-" Yugi tried to say before Joey cut him off.

"But nothing. I know what I'm doing."

"Very well." Devlin said with a smirk. "We'll hold the match today after school. I have a state of the art dueling ring In my game shop. And of course you're all invited. I wouldn't want you to miss your friend's finest hour." He said before walking away.

"Why do I think this isn't gonna end well?" Yugi asked himself mentally, with Mai thinking the exact same thing.

Later after school

Yugi and his friends had gotten to Devlin's game shop and Joey was amazed at seeing it. "I can't believe that dice boy owns this place. He must have spent a lotta money on it. Too bad he's gonna be closing it down. Hehehehe." He said with overconfidence before walking into the shop.

Yugi and the others sighed with annoyance before Tea said. "Joey's heart's in the right place, it's his head I'm worried about."

"Got that right, baby." Mai said as she held Tea close to her.

"Yeah. If his head gets any bigger, he's gonna get it stuck in the front door." Tristan added before they followed Joey inside.

Devlin's game shop manager walked up to them and greeted them. "Welcome to Duke Devlin's Game World. Mr. Devlin was beginning to worry about you. Please, follow me." He said before leading them to an elevator, with Devlin inside it. "The Dueling ring is on sub level 6."

As the elevator went down to sub level 6, Devlin showed Joey a box containing packs that had 1 deck of cards each. "Go ahead, Mr. Wheeler, choose your packs carefully. We'll each build our own decks from these new cards."

As Joey knelt down and went through the packs, he thought to himself. Which pack is the best? Gotta feel the energy." Before he chose a pack, took out the cards and liked what they were.

"Did you get some good cards?" Yugi asked.

"Don't worry about it. This match is in the bag." Joey said, thinking he had the match in the bag already.

But Devlin thought differently. "We shall see."

When the elevator stopped and opened, lights came on and 3 of the girls from the school, who were wearing cheerleading outfits, began cheering for Devlin as everyone was walking through the room while TV cameras were placed into position.

"TV cameras?" Joey asked.

"Yeah. I have little theory the bigger the audience, the better the performance." Devlin answered. "That's why I've decided to broadcast this match live to the entire world. I'm sure my fans will enjoy watching me defeat the world's 2nd best Duelist. "I just hope you are 2nd best and not 2nd rate."

Joey grinned at that. "2nd rate? When I'm through with you, Dukey-Boy, you'll need a 2nd life. Cause when I'm through with you, there won't be anything left."

When his cheerleading girlfriends grew afraid, Devlin looked at them and said. "Don't worry, I've never disappointed my loyal fans yet."

That got the girls cheering again before Joey had enough. He ran onto the Dueling platform and put his new deck of cards on the holographic projector. "Okay, let's get this show on the road." He said before the platforms rose up. "Come on, tough guy, let the Duel begin."

"D-U-K-E, Duke's the only one for me! Duke's his name, he's got game! Joey Wheeler is so lame. Yaaaayyyy, Duke! Go, Duke. Go, Duke. Go, Duke." Duke cheerleading girlfriends said at the same time, much to Tea, Mai and Tristan's annoyance.

"Let's Duel." Joey and Devlin said at the same time.

Devlin held up a monster card and said. "For my 1st move, I'll attack with Oni Tank T-34." He said before summoning his 1st monster, which was a tank with a red monster face on it with an attack power of 1400 and a defensive power of 1700. "All right, that ends my 1st move. Now let's see some of that world-class talent of yours, hotshot."

"Hold on to your headband, dicey boy." Joey said before drawing a card and grinned at what it was: the Sword Hunter, which had an attack power of 2450 and a defensive power of 1700. "Sweet! This card's got a power up effect. Any monster he destroys becomes part of his armor." He thought before summoning it. "Ta-da! Sword Hunter in attack mode. Let's slice and dice the dice man." He said before his monster destroyed the tank monster, with its face becoming part of his armor, which increased its attack power by 200 points and Devlin's life points dropping down to 950, much to the cheerleading girls' concern.

"Not bad. Maybe Joey won't embarrass himself after all." Tristan said, impressed.

"Hey, Puke Devlin, why don't you quit before my Sword Hunter messes up your pretty hair?"

But Devlin wasn't afraid. "I've got you just where I want you."

"Hahahaha. You crack me up, Pukey-Boy, but it's your funeral." Joey said with confidence.

Devlin drew a card and liked what it was: a magic card. "Ah, this will come in handy later." He thought before placing a monster card in defense mode and placing the magic card face down. "I play Dark Bat in defense mode and place another card face down as well."

"A bat? If that's the best you got, then you're saying bye bye, card shop." Joey said before playing another monster card: the Mad Sword Beast, which had an attack power of 1400 and a defensive power of 1200. "Mad Sword Beast in attack mode coming at ya! Attack!" Before the monster easily destroyed the Dark Bat.

Devlin wasn't phased though. "No harm done, as the Bat was in defense mode."

But Joey thought differently. "That's where you're wrong, ponytail. The Mad Sword Beast reduces your life points, even if your bat was in defense mode." He said as Devlin's life points dropped to 550.

Devlin was shocked a bit before he regained his composure. "Perhaps I've underestimated you. But my Dark Bat won't be going off to the graveyard all by himself." He said as he played his face down magic card. "Thanks to...Michizure."

"Michi-what?" Joey asked with confusion, having not heard of that card.

"The Michizure monster will drag you to your room." Devlin said before a pair of arms dragged the Sword Hunter to the graveyard, much to Joey's surprise.

"Ow, that hurt. Joey better start thinking more than 1 move ahead." Tea said with a bit of worry.

"Got that right, Tea." Mai said as she held Tea close to her.

"Don't get too cocky, Joey!" Tristan advised his friend.

"Like I said before, I got this match here in the bag. Hahaha. I could beat this 2 bit loser in my sleep." Joey said, still overconfident.

But Yugi wasn't so sure. "I don't know. I think Duke Devlin knows more about this game I. He's letting on. I hope Joey doesn't blow it."

Joey then looked at Devlin and said. "Think that little trick's gonna save your boney butt? Think again. I still got you right where I want you."

"We'll see. Since your strongest monster went off to an early grave, I think now's a good time for me to go on the attack." Devlin said as he drew another magic card and placed it face down. "I'll place this card face down and then I'll summon Spikebot! With Spike Attack!" He said before Spikebot, which had an attack power of 1800 and a defensive power of 1700, came to life and destroyed Joey's Mad Sword Beast, dropping his life points down to 1600, much to his shock.

"Come on, Joey! Concentrate! Don't let him get to you!" Tea told her friend.

"Yeah. You did far better than this at Duelist Kingdom!" Mai added after her girlfriend and lover.

"If he beats you, you're gonna have to do whatever he says for an entire week!" Tristan added. "Don't you forget that!"

That seemed to work. "Fat chance!" Joey said before drawing another card. Come on, Lady luck, Joey needs a winner." He thought before seeing the card, grinning at it as he thought he'd won. "Cha ching! This super card will kick your Spikebot's butt!" He said before playing the card, which was Goblin Attack Force, which had an attack power of 2300 but 0 defense points. "Goblin Attack Force, bash him!" Joey told his goblins before they destroyed the Spikebot, dropping Devlin's life points down to 50! "Yeah! You don't have a snowball's chance in Hades now." He said before seeing his goblins in defense mode. "Aw, man I forgot my goblins go into defensive mode after they attack. That's okay. He's only got 50 life points left anyway, and next turn, it's 0! And then you're gonna close your shop!"

That got Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends worried but Tea and Tristan were not. "Joey's really gonna win and make your grandfather so happy."

"Go! You got him now, Joey!" Tristan added.

But Yugi and Mai weren't convinced, as Devlin was way too calm for someone who was seemingly about to lose. "How can Duke Devlin still be so calm? Either he's got ice in his blood, or he still has 1 last trick up his sleeve."

"Whatever trick Devin has left, it must be a turn around for him to be this calm, otherwise he'd be scared shitless right now." Mai thought to herself.

"Joey, it's not over yet! Don't let your guard down!" Yugi advised his best friend. But Joey wasn't listening, as he was only thinking about the cheerleading girlfriends cheering for him, making Yugi and the others a bit annoyed. "Oh I can't watch."

But this time, Devlin became more serious as he drew a card from his hand. "Enough fooling around. Time to summon 1 of the most powerful cards in my deck: the mighty Gradius!" Before he summoned the spaceship like monster, which had an attack power of 1200 and a defensive power of 800!

"That all you got? Cause that won't save you."

"Then I activate the magic card: Limiter Removal to double the attack power of Gradius!" Devlin said before playing the card he placed face down, which brought Gradius' attack power up to 2400 points!

Joey was surprised by the amount of points that Gradius gained. "Holy mackerel, that's a lot of points! Good thing I got all my goblins or he'd beat me with 1 shot!"

But that was exactly what Devlin was planning to do as he said. "Wait! There's more. Another magic card called Fairy Meteor Crush!" Before he showed Joey said card.

Joey was a bit scared at first but then said. "Wait, I never heard of that card. What's it do?"

"Don't tell me the 2nd best Duelist doesn't know what this card does. Let's just say it's a magic card version of the Mad Sword Beast you played." Devlin explained.

"What?! Then that means-" Joey said before he was cut off.

"This card has a special power: usually your monsters in defense mode would absorb my attack, but with the Fairy Meteor Crush card, I can deal my damage directly to your precious life points!" Devlin explained.

"NO!" Joey said, as he knew he'd lost the duel because of his overconfidence and had not realized it until it was too late.

"It's a pity this match was so short. I was hoping for an actual challenge but it was not meant to be. The only thing that cheers me up...is knowing that you'll soon become my servant for an entire week!" Devlin said with a smirk before telling his powered up monster. "Gradius, annihilate!" Before his Gradius shot the goblins and got to Joey before exploding, much to Yugi and his other friends' shock.

"He wiped out all of Joey's goblins... and the rest of his life points!" Tea said as Joey's life points went from 1600 to 0, much to Joey's shock.

But Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends only cheered for their boyfriend. "Duke's so cool! Devlin rules! He's the master of all duels!"

Joey walked back to his friends in shame as Yugi tried to cheer him up. "It's okay, Joey, you did your best."

But Devlin walked up to them with his girlfriends before snapping his fingers, getting 1 of them to walk up to Joey and hand him a dog suit. "Put it on." She ordered him in a gentle way.

"I hope that you're a man of your word, Joey-boy. I'm looking forward to having an obedient dog for the next week." Devlin said smugly.

Joey took the suit as he thought to himself. "What happened to me? When I was in the Duelist Kingdom, I never made a mistake like this. I had a purpose then: fighting for my sister. Now it looks like I've just gone to the dogs."

Yugi tried to stand up for his best friend. "Hey, knock it off, Duke Devlin! Just cause you won doesn't mean you can put Joey down!"

But Joey tried to talk I'm out of it. "Yugi, a promise is a promise. And I gotta keep it, even if it's to a creep like that Devlin."

But that only caused Devlin to click a die at Joey's face before he demanded. "Shut your yap, you mongrel! You will not speak until your master commands you to!"

"Come on, Joey, let's get outta here." Tristan said to his friend.

"Sorry, guys, I gave my word." Joey said regretfully.

But Devlin just flicked more dice at Joey's face before he said. "You're a dog now, Joey. You don't say 'ouch', you say 'woof woof. Now put it on and bark for me."

When Joey did just that, much to his friends' pity and Devlin's amusement, Yugi had had enough as he let Yami take over. "I have to put a stop to this."

When Yami was in control, he turned to Devlin and said. "Duke Devlin, your cruel stunt has gone on long enough. I challenge you to a Duel! And when I defeat you, you will declare Joey a free man again."

This was exactly what Devlin wanted as he said. "Excellent. But we will play a game of my own choosing: Dungeon Dice Monsters. And when you are the loser, you will give the title King of Games to me. And you will swear on your grandfather's life never to play Duel Monsters again."

Yami was surprised before his friends defended him. "That is going too far!" Tea said.

"Damn right. Way to far." Mai added after her girlfriend and lover.

"Yeah, Yugi, you've got too much to lose. This is completely crazy." Tristan added.

"Yugi, you can't do it!" Joey finished.

Duke stated before trying to hit Joey with another die. "Stop your yhapping!" Before Yami easily caught it. "So what's it gonna be, Yugi?"

"Devlin, I accept your condition! I will not allow you to destroy the dignaty of a friend! We will do battle on your game of choice: Dungeon Dice Monsters!" Yami told his soon to be opponent.

"My friends are worth all the titles and all the games in all the world. I'll stick by them no matter what. Something Duke Devlin will never understand. I have to take him on, for Joey's sake." Yugi thought in Yami's mind.

But Devlin thought differently. "You've fallen into my trap, Yugi. My Dungeon Dice Monsters will destroy you!"

A bit later

As people gathered together in front of the large TV screens outside to watch the upcoming Dice Monsters duel, Yami and Devlin were standing close to their respective platforms. "Remember, Devlin: I win this and you let Joey go. No more dog suit, no more demands."

Devlin smirked. "Agreed. But don't forget the flipside to that coin: you lose, and you never play Duel Monsters again. Now, let's get it on." He said before the dueling platform lowered.

But unlike in a card duel, this was different because a new platform rose on each side of the arena and had 3 glowing hearts each that glowed different colors and the arena itself was different because a floor with squares came from the right and left before merging together.

"Kinda different from an old dueling arena, huh? We'll get used to it, because this game has a whole new set of rules. And to keep up, you're gonna have to pay close attention." Devlin advised his opponent.

"Don't you worry, I'm a quick study." Yami assured his latest opponent.

"You better be, Yugi, because I know this game inside and out. And if you wanna win, you're gonna have to learn it as well. Now let's get started."

Yami walked up to the platform and looked at the controls as Yugi thought. "Looks pretty straight forward." Before a container filled with different kinds of dice opened, with different colors and designs on them.

"Lost already, Yugi?* Devlin asked knowingly. "Don't worry, I'll walk you through it: that's your dice pool. Select 15 dice from it to use for the game. I'd give you some tips on what to pick, Yugi, but being the master gamer that you are, I'm sure you'll figure it out."

Yami looked at the dice pool as Yugi spoke inside his head. "With all these different colors and designs, it's hard to know which ones to choose."

Devlin said as he already held his 15 dice. "Hurry up now. I got mine already set."

Yami held up 15 dice as he said. "I'm ready too."

"Good. Now here's how it works: these dice are gonna be like your dueling deck, and just like how you shuffle your deck, we'll shuffle these." Devlin explained before putting the dice in the admemater, with Yami doing the same. "See? The dice admemater will randomize your 15 dice in groups of 3. Take a look." He said before 3 dice came randomly out of the auto hatch on the right. "You get 3 dice per round, you roll all 3 at the same time and then you make your move depending on what you roll. But I'll explain more about that a bit later." He then took his dice and explained further. "Now, take the 3 dice out of the auto hatch." Yami did just that. "Good. Now how do you score? Well, in this game, we get heart points. They're like life points, but you only get 3 and the one who loses all 3 1st is out. Game on."

"What game on? But Yugi just now learned the rules." Tea said with concern.

"Yeah. That's probably how Duke likes it." Tristan added after his friend.

"Why do I think he's holding back very crucial elements of this game intentionally?" Mai asked as she looked at Devlin with a raised eyebrow before seeing his cheerleading girlfriends cheer for him with annoyance before they pounded Joey for what they called yapping. "Ugh, so annoying."

"I'm gonna make my 1st roll now, Yugi. So from here on out, you're gonna have to listen and learn as we go." Devlin said before rolling his 1st dice. "See those markings on the dice? They're called crests. Different crests do different things. Take that green die for example: that star crest I just rolled is for summoning. To be able to summon something, at least 2 out of the 3 dice that you rolled have to land with the same type of summon crest face up. And if I'm not mistaken, it seems I've already got a pair of summoning crests on my 1st roll. Now, the dimensionalizing part of the process." He said as he dimensioned the die on the board before a holographic die appeared on the arena and created a pathway of sorts, along with a monster appearing. "Behold, Ryu-Kishin!"

"The monsters are inside the dice?" Yami asked with surprise.

"And that's not all. It looks like the dice themselves are part of the game." Tea noticed.

"I'm glad you made that point, my little cheerleader-in-waiting. That's 1 of the key elements in Dungeon Dice Monsters. Once a die unfolds to unleash a monster, it becomes a dungeon pathway. And from that pathway, I can construct a route. A route my monsters can use to get to your heart points." Duke explained, getting an angered look from Mai as she held Tea close to her.

"Oh I get it: the way to destroy your opponent's heart points is to position the monsters to attack the hearts directly. So, the more dice that I can dimensionalize into a dungeon path, the better. Seems simple enough." Yugi said from Yami's mind as he looked at the dice.

"Go ahead, Yugi, it's your turn." Devlin said.

But Yami reminded his new opponent. "Devlin, don't forget: if I win this, then you have to give my friend Joey his freedom back."

"Right, if you win. If." Devlin said.

"I'm counting on you, buddy. If anybody can beat this Devlin, it's you." Joey said, only to get hounded by Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends.

"We're with you, Yugi." Tea said to her friend as Mai nodded.

"All the way, buddy. Long live the King of Games!" Tristan added.

But Devlin thought differently. "His reign is over. Today, this cheat is going down."

Yami then rolled the dice. "Go, dice roll!" But when the dice landed, none of the crests matched. "The 3 crests. None of them match."

"Yeah. Cause the level of dice you threw was way too high. Sorry. Didn't I mention that different dice had different levels?" Devlin asked knowingly before explaining. "This is how it works: there are 6 types of crests on the surfaces of these dice: summon, movement, magic, attack, defense and trap crests. How often a crest on a dice depends on that dice's level. The level 2 dice that I just played had 3 summon crests on each, so it was easy for me to roll 2 of them. But, the easier a monster is to summon, the weaker he is. Now look carefully at your dice, Yugi."

Yami looked at his dice and found out that they only had 1 summon crest on each. "They each have only 1 summon crest."

"Right. And that only makes it much harder to roll 2 of them. Of course, had you, it'd have been a very strong monster. Still, I'm of the opinion that in the early stages of the game, it's better to have low level dice, because summoning a monster with only high level dice is slim to none." Devlin explained smugly.

"Oh no. Almost all the dice I picked were high level?" Yugi thought.

"Sorry, Yugi, but if all you have are high level dice at your disposal, you're gonna have a really hard time summoning any monsters."

"I can't believe this. The game just started, and I'm already at a huge disadvantage."

"Hey, this ain't fair, Duke!" Tristan called out.

"You should have told Yugi all the rules before the game started." Tea added.

"Got that right!" Mai added in agreement with her lover and friend.

"These different dice game rules change everything. You should start the game fresh!" Tristan told Devlin.

"If it were someone else, maybe. But not for the King of Games." Devlin said before his next dice appeared. "Go, dice roll!" He said as he rolled the dice, getting another pair of summoning crests and a movement crest. "Yes! Another pair of summoning crests. My Dungeon path will extend and I'll have 2 monsters on the field." He said before he dimensioned the dice. "Dimension the dice and unlock Yaranzo!" Before said monster appeared from inside the dice, which had 10 attack points and equal defense and heart points.

This got Yugi concerned. His dungeon path is getting closer and closer to my heart points, and I'm not even on the board yet."

"I'm coming for you, Yugi. And since I rolled a movement crest too, I can advance my monster further down my Dungeon pathway." He said as Yaranzo did just that by moving forward. "Oh and if you don't wanna use a crest you rolled, you can save it for later in your crest pool. Now go ahead, it's your turn."

Yami then rolled his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" But when the dice landed, the crests still did not match. "Still no matching crests."

"Nothing again, huh? Maybe you should try blowing on them for good luck." Devlin said before taking his next dice. "My turn now. Go, dice roll!" Getting another pair of level 2 summoning crests and a level 2 movement crest. "Well, would you look at that? Another summoning. And look at the surprise inside." He said as he dimensioned the dice and revealed another monster. "Gator Dragon. And I'll use my movement crest to advance him."

"My roll now." Yami said before rolling his next dice and got a pair of summoning crests and a trap crest. "At last, 2 summoning crests." He thought before speaking out loud. "I can play a monster."

"No you can't." Devlin said before explaining. "Yeah rolled 2 summoning crests, but their numbers aren't the same. So it doesn't count."

"But I thought-" Yami tried to say before Devlin cut him off.

"It's my turn again." He said before seeing that his next dice were high level. "Oh, level 4 dice. They were too hot for you to handle, but let's see how I can do. Go, dice roll!" Before he rolled his dice, getting a pair of summoning crests and another movement crest. "Hahahaha. I guess lady luck has got the boys for old Duke Devlin, just like everyone else." He said before the black die unfolded to reveal a chest.

"A chest?" Yugi asked.

"This is an item summoning, Yugi. But more on that a bit later." Devlin said with a grin. "Now roll."

Yami took his next dice and rolled them but still did not get a matching crest. "No! Another miss." Yugi thought.

Devlin was amused by this. "You know, maybe we should change your title from the King of Games to the King of Lame. At this rate, I'll have you wiped out before you're even on the board. I knew you weren't the real deal, Yugi." He said before rolling his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of summoning crests and another movement crest again. "Yes! Another summoning. Now I'll have a monster right next to your heart points. Dimension the dice!" He said before a yellow dice unfolded to reveal another monster that had 10 attack points, 0 defense and 10 heart points. "Check it out, the 13 Grave."

"That 13 Grave is just 3 squires away from being able to attack me. I have to summon a monster and take him out. Otherwise, I'll lose a heart point for sure." Yugi thought.

"Come on, our audience is waiting." Devlin spoke out loud before thinking to himself. "And soon, they're gonna see you for what you really are: a loser who could have never truly beaten Pegasus."

Yami took his next dice as Yugi thought. "This is it. No matter how high the odds are stacked against me, I have to believe it's possible to roll 2 summon crests. The same way I believed in the Heart of the Cards." Yami rolled the dice and 1 landed on amagic crest. But the 2nd die landed on a level 4 summoning crest before Yami watched as the 3rd die was slowly starting to slow down. "I got 1. Now if only-" Yugi thought... before the 3rd die landed on...a level 4 summoning crest!

"There. I rolled 2 level 4 summon crests. Now I can finally summon a monster and defend my heart points." Yami said before he dimensioned his 1st die on the board and his 1st monster appeared: the Mighty Mage, which had 30 attack points, 20 defense points and 50 heart points. "The Mighty Mage. Next, I'll access my crest pool and use a movement crest to move my Mage 1 space forward and launch an attack against the 13 Grave." He said as the Mighty Mage did just that and advanced 1 space. "Lightning Staff!" Yami said before the Mighty Mage Destroyed the 13 Grave!

"Yeah!" Tristan cheered.

"In your face!" Tea added.

"Got that right, baby." Mai added after her girlfriend and lover.

"Knowing this game and all its rules may have given you the edge in assembling your creatures against me, but now I have a monster of my own." Yami told Devlin.

While the onlookers outside were amazed at Yugi's last move, Joey said with a smile. "Keep it up, buddy, you're really doing great."

"What do you guys think? Is Yugi in the clear?" Tristan asked Tea and Mai.

"I don't think so. Devlin's Dungeon pathway is way more widespread than Yugi's and he has more monsters too." Tea answered honestly.

"Yugi has a hell of a long way to go to win this game." Mai added with concern.

But Devlin wasn't worried. "Congratulations on your 1st monster, Yugi. Just 4 more now and you'll have as much as I do." He said before rolling his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a level 2 movement crest and 2 level 2 summoning crests. "Oops. Spoke too soon. Make that 5 more." He said before he dimensioned the dice, unlocking the Blast Lizard, which had 10 attack points, 10 defense points and 20 heart points. "But don't be fooled by his low level status, Yugi. When he's played in just the right way, he has a special attack that packs a surprising punch."

"Special attack? Sounds like another rule that Duke conveniently forgot to mention. I'll have to be on my guard." Yugi thought before seeing the dice. "Cool. Some low level dice. I knew I had at least a few of them. Should be easier to summon now."

Yami then rolled his low level dice and said. "My turn now." Before rolling his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting 2 summoning crests and a magic crest. "Dimension the dice!" Before the dice did just that while unlocking the Winged Dragon, Guardian of the Fortress, which had 10 attack points and equal defense and heart points. "Now you have 2 monsters of mine to contend with, Devlin."

But Devlin wasn't phased. "Not for long, Yugi." He said as he took his next dice and rolled. "Go, dice roll!" But this time, he got a pair of magic crests and a movement crest.

"You failed to summon anything." Yami told his opponent, believing Devlin had failed to summon another monster.

"Whoever said I was trying to summon a monster on this roll?" Devlin asked, revealing that he wasn't trying to summon a monster this turn. "Remember what I said about playing my monster in just the right way?"

Yami seemed to know what that meant. "So you were rolling for his special attack?"

"That's kinda right, Yugi. The Blast Lizard's special attack requires 4 magic crests." Devlin explained. "I already had 2 in my crest pool so I needed to roll 2 more, which I did. So now I use a movement crest to get him into position and next, use my 4 magic crests to have him attack you!" He said before the Blast Lizard threw his bombs at the Winged Dragon, destroying it! "That's too bad. You worked so hard to summon that Winged Dragon too." Devlin said mockingly.

"Don't give up, Yugi!" Tea called out.

"Yeah! You can beat him!" Mai added, while also disgusted at Devlin for his cheating behavior, as it was much lower than what she used to do to win in Duel Monsters.

"It's my turn now." Yami said before taking his next dice and rolling them. "Go, dice roll!" But he only got 3 attack crests on each die. "Not 1 summoning crest die."

"It's my turn. Go, dice roll!" Devlin said as he rolled his next dice, getting another pair of summoning crests and another movement crest with level 3 dice. "Look, another summoning, and with level 3 dice as well." He said before he dimensioned the dice to unlock the Dark Assailant. "And now I'll dip into my crest pool again and close in on your heart points. By using 2 movement crests, I put Blast Lizard and Gator Dragon in striking distance of your hearts." Before the Blast Lizard and Gator Dragon moved right next to Yami's heart points, making Yami concerned, as there was nothing he could do to stop the next attack. "Go ahead and make your move. Nothing you do will help you get outta this mess. I mean I don't even think I would be able to pull it off, and I'm the one who invented the game."

Yami and the others were surprised by what Devlin had just revealed. "You're its inventor?! I knew you were its champion but-"

But Devlin cut him off. "I'm both! And everyone in the entire world should know it!" He revealed. "I should be known as the 2nd greatest game creator in all the world by now, Yugi! But I'm not, and it's all thanks to your cheating ways. That's the only way you could have beaten a great man like Pegasus! You ruined my life that day, Yugi. The defeat you handed Pegasus changed everything for me."

"But how?" Yami asked, wanting to know how he could have possibly ruined Devlin's life.

Devlin then revealed the reason while also telling Yugi about his game's creation. "I dedicated my life to creating Dungeon Dice Monsters. I spent all my free time perfecting its gameplay and fine-tuning all of its rules. And when I was finished, it was clear that I had created something truly remarkable. I decided I had to send it to the only man who could possibly appreciate it: Pegasus. A few days passed but I didn't hear anything from that great game master until... I got this crazy email. He said he'd read my proposal. I couldn't believe my eyes. He said he wanted to fly me out on his personal helicopter to discuss the game in person. And the very next day, I was brought to Pegasus' island: Duelist Kingdom. I could hardly believe it, all my hard work was paying off. I was gonna meet my idol: Maximilian Pegasus. When we met, he immediately challenged me to a game of Dungeon Dice Monsters. I expected him to be good, but he was phenomenal. It was his 1st time playing the game and he completely overpowered me. Me, the guy who created it and I was amazed with his skills. After the game, he said that he enjoyed it so much that he said that he and I would make sure that the whole world would too and asked me to be his partner. With a handshake, the deal was sealed. He said we'd draw up the official contract after he completed a dueling tournament that was about to take place on his island. The tournament that you were headed to, Yugi. And ever since you beat him there, I haven't been able to contact him at all. Everything that I ever worked for was shattered that day, Yugi and it's all your fault."

But Yami told him differently, as he'd seen what kind of person Pegasus was. "You don't know what kind of man Pegasus was at all."

"He was a great man... until you came along and broke his spirit with your dirty cheating ways. And now I'll have my revenge by breaking you!" Devlin vowed. "I'll expose you for what you really are: a good for nothing cheater!"

"I've never cheated at anything in my entire life!" Yami countered.

But Devlin didn't believe that. "Please, you expect me to believe that a cheat like you could defeat a great man Pegasus? You can't even hold your own in Dungeon Dice Monsters!"

"Devlin, Yugi's right! Pegasus wasn't the man you think he is. He was a monster." Mai said, trying to reason with Devlin.

"You don't know the things he did during the Duelist Kingdom tournament, Devlin. He hurt my girlfriend and stole people's souls, and even the soul of a child!" Tea added while referring to Mokuba.

"Devlin, listen to me. Your hero worship of Pegasus has blinded you to the truth." Yami added.

"I don't believe any of that. And I see clearly. I see a cheater who's about to be retired from Duel Monsters forever. Now roll, you cheat." Devlin said, still blind to the truth.

"I will roll, and I will defeat you!" Yami vowed as he rolled his next dice, getting another pair of level 3 summoning crests and an attack crest. "Yes. I rolled 2 level 3 summon crests. That's another monster for me." He said before dimensioning his dice. "Dimension the dice and unlock Thunderball!" Before Thunderball, who had 10 attack points, 10 defense points and 30 heart points, was unlocked.

"Thunderball may be a level 3 monster, but his states really aren't that strong. I'm afraid he's not going to be any help to you." Devlin said while thinking to himself. "Unless… Yugi plans to use his special attack. Too bad he doesn't know how." Before taking his next dice. "My turn now. Go, dice roll!" He said before rolling his dice, getting 2 movement crests and an attack crest. "Yes. 1 attack and 2 movement crests. I'll move Blast Lizard and Gator Dragon into attack position." He said before Blast Lizard moved right in front of Yami's heart points and Gator Dragon moved right beside him.

"Look out, Yuge!" Joey said with worry.

"That Blast Lizard's finally reached Yugi." Tea added.

"And his heart points are in range too." Tristan added after his friend.

"That's right, Yugi. My monsters are poised to take your hearts!" Devlin said with confidence. "And now, Gator Dragon, attack him with your Fire Blast!" Before Gator Dragon did just that and blasted Yami's bottom heart point, deactivating it and leaving him with only 2 heart points left!

"No! He wiped out Yugi's heart point just like that." Tea said with worry.

"And if he doesn't do something soon, the other 2 hearts are going to get the same result." Mai said with equal concern... before getting very annoyed when Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends called Joey a 'bad dog' and pulled on him when he tried standing up to them. "Those 3 are just a bunch of sucking up bitches. Glad I'm not like that, especially since I have Tea."

"Hahaha. You only have 2 heart points left, Yugi. But not for long, cause my monsters are already lined up to take them out in the next round." Devlin said arrogantly.

"This is bad." Yami said.

"The whole world's about to see you lose, Yugi. And soon, you'll be forced to retire from Duel Monsters in shame. Pegasus will be avenged and you'll be exposed as the cheat you really are!" Devlin vowed.

Yami squeezed his next dice as Yugi thought inside his head. "What can I do? Duke's got more monsters, more dungeon path and more hearts points than me. And he's in a position to attack again. How can I possibly win? How can I beat Duke at his own game?"

As Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends continued to cheer for him while also talking down Joey like a dog, Tea, Mai and Tristan were annoyed with it and disgusted at Devlin. "Man I can't wait till Yugi wins this and gets Joey out of that dog suit Devlin's making him wear."

"Yeah. Devlin's all about humiliating his opponents, especially Yugi. Why else would he wanna defeat Yugi in a match broadcasting around the world?" Tea asked as she glared at Devlin. "It's not fair. He blames Yugi for everything: his game not taking off, losing Pegasus as his business partner. It's just wrong."

"Got that right, baby. Devlin's been cheating even worse than I was at Duelist Kingdom. He calls Yugi a cheater, but here he is doing the exact same thing. What a fucking hypocrite." Mai added after her girlfriend and lover.

"Duke's monsters have already taken out 1 of my heart points. And unless I do something now, they'll take out another. I have to make this move count! But I think I've just found what I needed to know!" Yugi thought from Yami's mind as he began operating the crest pool before rolling his next dice.

"Go, dice roll!" Yami said before getting a pair of level 2 magic crests and a defense crest.

"Yes! 2 out of 3. Great!" Yugi thought.

"It appears that I have 2 magic crests, Devlin. But since they're level 2 level, each of their values are double, giving me 4 magic crests. More than enough to activate Thunderball's special ability." Yami said to his opponent.

Devlin was impressed. "Not bad. You've even learned how to use your help screen to activate your monster's special abilities."

"That's right. Now I'll use 3 of the crests I rolled and activate Thunderball's special attack!" Yami said before doing just that before Thunderball rolled over the Blast Lizard and destroyed him. "But my attack will not end there! I'll use 3 more of the magic crest I saved in my crest pool and have Thunderball strike again!" Yami said before Thunderball destroyed Gator Dragon as well, much to Joey's joy and the worry of Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends. "All right, Duke, now we have a game."

Meanwhile outside, Yugi's grandpa walked in front of the crowd standing in front of the big TV screens and investigated before instantly falling in love with the TV until he saw Yugi, Joey, Tristan and Mai, making him think that the new game shop had taken them until the crowd told him to move from in front of the TV.

Meanwhile back inside the game shop

Duke was impressed with Yami's last move and said. "Not bad, Yugi. You actually managed to use that help screen to come up with an impressive move there. But still, I wouldn't get any thoughts about winning if I were you. You'll never know Dice Monsters as well as I do. After all, I'm the one who invented the game."

"That's true. Just as your idol, Pegasus, created the Duel Monsters card game. Yami admitted. "But inventing a game doesn't mean you can't be beaten at it, Devlin. But perhaps my beating Pegasus was the exception to the rule. Perhaps you are better."

"Why thank you." Devlin said before realizing what he just said. "Hey, wait a minute, you only beat Pegasus by cheating. Don't try to fill me."

"No, Duke, you're only fooling yourself."

"Yeah right, cheat." Devlin said before rolling his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of level 2 movement crests and an attack crest. "Nice. I'll save these in my crest pool."

Yami got out his next dice. "Now it's my turn, Duke." He said before rolling them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting 2 level 2 summoning crests and a movement crest. "Excellent. A pair of summoning crests and a movement crest. Dimension the dice!" Yami said before doing just that, unlocking a new monster. "Now behold the monster that I've unlocked: the Knight of Twin Swords!" Before the monster that had 20 attack points,10 defense points and 30 heart points appeared.

"For all the good it'll do you. None of my monsters are in striking distance of him." Devin noticed.

"That's why I'll store this movement crest in my crest pool for now." Yami countered.

"So, at least you've become skilled at conserving your crests. It's about time." Devlin said sarcastically.

"Man, crest this, crest that. I'm totally lost." Joey said with confusion.

"I guess it's true what they say: you can teach a dog new tricks." Devlin said, getting an angry reaction from Joey. "Come on, dog boy, it's Dungeon Dice Monsters rule number one: you're allowed to take the crests you roll, store them in your crest pool and then use them later on."

Joey seemed to get that before Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends continued to call him out like a dog to obey their commands.

But Devlin was thinking about how good Yugi was to be learning his game quite well. 'There Yugi goes again, scouring that help screen. He's certainly a quick study, I'll give him that. Some of the things he's learned in minutes took me weeks to come up with. I'll just have to take things up a notch. And I have just the dice to do it with too.' Before he took his next dice and rolled them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of summoning crests and a movement crest. "All right, a pair of summoning crests. Dimension the dice!" Before doing just that and unlocking another monster. "Here's a monster your knight will definitely wanna stay clear of: the Battle Ox!" Before said monster, that had 20 attack points, 20 defense points and equal heart points. "But then you'll have a hard time avoiding him once I'll use these 4 stored movement crests to have him charge in for an attack." Before his Battle Ox moved forward. "And by the way, my Battle Ox gets a 10 point bonus when attacking all Warrior type creatures like your Knight." Devlin explained before his Battle Ox raised his ax for an attack.

But Yami was prepared for that. "Knight, quickly go into defensive mode...just in time." He told his Warrior type creature, who did just that. "Sorry, Duke, but when switched into defensive mode, my knight has a defensive power of 10. Which means your Ox will only do 20 points of damage." He said as the knight defended himself, blocking the ax with his swords. "He'll lose 20 of his heart points, but he'll still remain on the board."

Duke was angered by this. 'Unbelievable. That cheat has taught himself how to defend.'

Yami then rolled his next level 2 dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting 2 attack crests. "I'm activating my Knight's special ability by using these 2 attack crests." Before he did just that. "Now he's allowed to attack twice in 1 turn and make 2 assaults on your beast's heart points." Yami said before his knight double slashed the Battle Ox, destroying him!

"No, my Ox! That Knight slaughtered him!" Devlin said with disbelief, much to his cheerleading girlfriend's worry and Joey's and the other's joy.

"Your turn, Duke, but this time, you might want to stay clear of my monsters." Yami said with confidence.

But Duke just began laughing, much to Yami's confusion. "Hahahaha. Hahahahaha. So you were able to defeat my Battle Ox, Yugi. So what? My last move wasn't just about creating another monster, it was about building out my dungeon path."

"Your dungeon path?"

"That's right. Take a look at your dungeon path, Yugi."

"What about it, Duke?"

"I'll tell you what, Yugi: it's been stopped dead in its tracks." Devlin revealed before everyone looked and saw that Yami's dungeon path was completely blocked by Devlin's! "See my dungeon path and how it's all the way from 1 side of the board to the other? Your dungeon path can't cross it, and that means your monsters can't get to my heart points on the other side of it. You're stuck, Yugi. You can't build your dungeon path anymore, you're completely boxed in!"

Yami knew what this meant. "No! He's trapped me!"

Yugi then spoke in Yami's mind. 'Duke's laid out his dungeon path so it completely blocks my ability to advance.'

"I'm trapped." Yami said.

"What's going on here?" Tea asked.

"I'm not sure I follow it myself, Tea." Tristan answered honestly.

"I think I do: since Devlin's red dungeon path extends all the way from 1 side of the board all the way to the other and 1 path can't overlap the other, Yugi can't continue to build his path forward. Which means that his monsters can't get to Devlin's heart points on the other side of it." Mai explained, having played a couple of board games that had the exact same rule in her childhood.

"Good point, Mai. But there's gotta be some way Yugi can win." Tristan said.

"Actually, there is: Yugi could always move his monsters through my Dungeon pathway. That is, if he doesn't mind surviving all my monsters along the way." Devlin revealed.

"Every 1?" Tea asked.

"But that means all his monsters would get pulverized." Tristan added, knowing what that meant.

"No joke." Devlin said before taking his next dice. "My roll now." He said before seeing what his next dice were. "Perfect. Just perfect." Devlin said before holding up the black die. "Know what this is, Yugi?"

"Looks like a black die." Yami answered.

"A very rare black die to be exact. And with it, I'm gonna finish you off and win this game!" Devlin said before rolling his dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of summoning crests and a defense crest. "Dimension the dice! Now you'll see the power of the rare black die." He said before the black die appeared and unfolded on the board to reveal some kind of black hole. "Behold the Warp Vortex!"

Yami was confused at this. "Warp what?"

"Warp Vortex. Guess I'll have to explain this now too: the black hole you're seeing is something that only a black die can summon. It's a cosmic portal. When monsters jump into it, they're sent to another place on the board instantly. And this other place is determined by only where the 2nd vortex is laid and that's where the monster pops out. It takes 2 vortexes to complete the circuit, creating a warp tube. And guess what, Yugi: I've already got all picked out: deep within your territory and way past your defenses." Devlin explained. "It's the perfect spot for easy access to your heart points. Now, Yugi, all that stands between you and defeat is the time it'll take for my admemater to spit out my next black die. So start working on your retirement speech."

'There's not much I can do. I'll just have to build up my defenses.' Yugi said from his spirit friend's mind.

Yami took his next dice and rolled them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of level 3 summoning crests and a movement crest. "Dimension the dice! Now, Devlin, let's see how well I've learned your game." Before the die appeared on the board and unfolded, revealing a new monster. "I summon the Strike Ninja! His high speed allows him to move 3 spaces for each movement crest."

"High speed, huh? Nice try, but he doesn't come close to the speed my Vortex will give me." Devlin told his opponent. "Speaking of which…" He said before taking his next dice and seeing another black die. "I've got my 2nd black die." He said, making Yugi and his friends concerned. "Now I'll roll to complete the Warp tube and finish you off for good. Go, dice roll!"

'If he summons another Warp Vortex, I'm finished.' Yugi said from Yami's mind.

But fortunately, Devlin got a magic crest, a movement crest and a trap crest, to Yami's relief. "No Warp Vortex."

"Hmm. You lucked out, this time." Devlin said unconcerned.

When Yami's admemater spat out his next dice, he was surprised before he smiled and addressed Devlin. "Devlin, I've just found a major hole in your plan." He said before holding up...a black die. "Or if you prefer... a Vortex, thanks to this."

"A black die!?" Devlin asked with surprise while Yugi's friends cheered for him.

"Go, dice roll!" Yami said, rolling his dice and getting a pair of level 3 summoning crests and a movement crest. "Excellent! A pair of summoning crests. Dimension the dice!" He said before the next die appeared on the board and unfolded to reveal another Warp Vortex. "Now I place my own Warp Vortex, so that I have easy access to your heart points!" He said before accessing the Strike Ninja. "Strike Ninja, jump into the Warp Vortex!" Before the Ninja did just that and ran with impressive speed to the Warp Vortex before jumping in it.

"No! He's gone into the Warp tube. But that means-" Devlin said before Yami spoke for him.

"That's right, Devlin. He'll come out on your side of the field." When the Strike Ninja came out of the other Vortex, Yami told him. "Now, Strike Ninja, attack and destroy his Ryu-Kishin!" Before the Strike Ninja, who was stronger than Devlin's monster, did just that, much to his friends' joy and Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends' concern.

'Duke may have blocked me from extending my Dungeon pathway, but thanks to the Warp Vortex he played, I've got an even better way of getting my monsters over to them.' Yugi spoke in Yami's mind.

But Duke thought to himself with concern. 'I can't believe Yugi got a rare black die! Now he's using the Warp Vortex I summoned against me! And with that Strike Ninja already deep in my territory, all Yugi has to do is roll 1 movement crest and he'll be able to move that Strike Ninja to my heart points! I have to stop him!" Before getting his next dice and rolling them. "Go, dice roll!" But he only got a pair of attack crests and a trap crest. "No, my roll failed me!"

"Go, dice roll!" Yami said as he rolled his next dice, getting a pair of movement crests and a summoning crest. "Perfect! A set of movement crests. Now, Strike Ninja, advance and attack his heart point with a Claw thrust attack!" He told his monster before the Strike Ninja did just that, taking 1 of Devlin's heart points!

"No, my heart point!" Devlin said with fear, much to Yami's friends' joy and Yugi's grandpa's as well.

"That's 1 down!" Tea said with a smile as she embraced Mai.

"And 2 to go." Tristan added.

"That was very impressive!" Mai said as she played with her girlfriend's hair.

But surprisingly, Duke smiled before he began laughing, much to Yami's confusion. "I'm sorry, Yugi, it's just been so long since anyone's destroyed 1 of my heart points. You should really give yourself a pat on the back, cause I guarantee you that it's not gonna be happening again." He vowed before he took his next dice and rolled them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of level 3 summoning crests and a defense crest. "Perfect, a level 3 summoning. Dimension the dice and unlock my undefeatable monster! I summon Orgoth the Relentless!" He said before his monster, which had 20 attack points, 20 defense points and 50 heart points, appeared on the board. "And next, I'll use 2 magic crests and unlock Orgoth's special attack to raise his power from 20 to 30!" He said before doing just that. "And now I'll use 2 of my stored movement crest dice to position Orgoth for an attack." He said before his monster advanced. "And now, Orgoth, attack the Ninja with Diamond Blade Strike!"

But Yami quickly used his crest pool as Yugi spoke in his mind. "I better think fast if I wanna save my Ninja.'

As Orgoth's blade came down, creating smoke, Devlin said. "Your Ninja has been destroyed."

"I wouldn't be so sure if I were you." Yami told his opponent.

"What?"

"Why don't you take a closer look, Devlin?"

Devlin looked closely but didn't see anything until he saw that the Strike Ninja was still on the board unharmed. "No, it can't be!"

"Sorry, Duke, but just before Orgoth attacked, I activated my Ninja's special ability with a stored trap crest. It allows him to dodge quickly against any attack and escape harm." Yami explained.

Devlin thought to himself in anger. 'I can't believe Yugi has taught himself such an advanced defense maneuver. He's making me look like a novice at my own game! Ah, I can't let him rattle me. I have to remember that he's just a lousy cheat. He doesn't have the skills to win this match.'

Yami then took his next dice. "My turn now, Duke." Before he rolled, getting 3 movement crests. "And now I can attack again." He said before addressing his Ninja. "Now, Strike Ninja, attack with Claw thrust!" Before the Strike Ninja destroyed Devlin's middle heart point, taking the lead in the match!

"No! Not another one of my hearts!" Devlin said with fear, much to Yugi's friends' joy and Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends' worry and concern.

"I believe I've taken the lead now, Devlin." Yami said with a smile.

'You little wannabe! I swore I'd have my revenge on you for cheating Pegasus and sabotaging my game and I will!' Duke thought with anger before taking his next dice and rolling them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a movement crest, a magic crest and a defense crest. "Now, Orgoth, show that ninja why you're called the Relentless!"

Yami looked at his crest pool and found no traps that could help him this time as Yugi spoke in his mind. "Oh no! I don't have any more traps in my crest pool. There's no way for me to help my Ninja escape this time."

"Diamond Blade Strike!" Devlin said before Orgoth destroyed the Strike Ninja.

"Oh no, Yugi's Ninja's been wiped out!" Tea said with concern.

But Devlin smiled in relief. "You were close, Yugi. Closer than anyone I've ever faced, but I'm afraid close doesn't cut it in Dungeon Dice Monsters. Sure you may have 1 heart point more than me, but I have Orgoth the Relentless. And none of your monsters will stop him from getting to your heart points! You may have been on the victory trail, Yugi, but now you're at a dead end! Hahaha! Hahahahaha!"

'Oh no! With my Ninja gone, Duke has me on the defense again. I've got to find a way to protect my heart points." Yugi said from Yami's mind.

Yami took his next dice and rolled them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a level 2 summoning crest, a movement crest and an attack crest. "Looks like I've rolled a movement crest with a level 2 bonus, Duke. And I'll use it to move my Knight of Twin Swords between your monsters and my heart points." He said before the Knight of Twin Swords did just that.

Devlin took his next dice and said. "Nice try, Yugi, but none of your monsters can withstand the full force of Orgoth the Relentless." Before rolling his next dice. "Go, dice roll! Getting a pair of level 2 movement crests and a defense crest. "And he's coming for you. Orgoth, advance 3 spaces!" He said before his monsters did just that.

"He's heading right for the Warp Vortex. If he warps, Duke will get through my defenses without a fight!" Yugi spoke in his other self's mind.

"Scared yet?" Devlin asked. "Remember how you used the Warp Vortex to sneak past my lines? Well, 2 can play at that game." He said before addressing his monster. "Orgoth, jump into the Warp Vortex!" Before the monster did just that and appeared in Yami's territory. The end is near, Yugi."

But Yami thought differently. "I think not, Devlin. Remember that I still have 1 more heart point left than you do." He said before taking his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of level 2 movement crests and a magic crest. "There. Now using the movement crests, I'll build a wall around my heart points. 1st I'll move Thunderball into position. Then Mighty Mage and finally, Knight of Twin Swords." He said before his monsters did just that and moved in front of Yami's heart points.

"How sad. The so-called 'King of Games' is in a desperate retreat. You coward." Devlin said mockingly before rolling his next dice, getting a pair of magic crests and a defense crest." Now you'll see how a real master plays. I'll use 2 movement crests from my crest pool to move Orgoth into attack range. And with the magic crests I rolled, I'll increase his attack power by 10, giving him a total of 40. I told you Orgoth was Relentless. Now witness his strength up close." Devlin said as Orgoth moved in front of Yami's monsters. "Orgoth, attack Thunderball and show him your power!" He told his monster before Orgoth attacked Thunderball with his increased attack power, destroying him with 1 swipe of his blade! "It's tough to watch, eh, Yugi?"

While Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends continued to cheer for him while mocking Joey, Tea, Mai and Tristan became concerned. "Just 2 more monsters left! Devlin's taking out Yugi's defenses 1 by 1."

"We know. But Yugi's been in tough spots before and he's always come through." Tea reminded her friend.

"And remember that he's still got the lead." Mai added after her lover.

Even Yugi's grandpa still had faith in his grandson. "You hang in there, Yugi. Just like in Duel Monsters, it's not over until the final move is made."

But Devlin was just mocking his opponent. "Poor Yugi. You can't summon any more monsters because there's no room left in your territory. You've played well for a 1st timer, Yugi. I give you that much. But there's no way a hack like you could have beaten the great Pegasus. Now I'm going to expose you as the fraud you really are."

Yami took his next dice and said with determination. "Don't write that victory speech just yet, Devlin! This game's not over. Go, dice roll!" Before rolling his dice, getting a pair of movement crests and an attack crest before looking at his help screen, smiling as he looked at his opponent. "I checked out my help screen, Duke and found that Mighty Mage's special ability allows it to attack opponents 2 spaces away." He said before telling his Mage. "Go, Lightning Staff Attack!"

But Devlin was prepared for this. "No worries I can weaken your Mage's attack with 1 defense crest." He said before doing just that. "Orgoth the Relentless, activate defense!" As Mighty Mage struck Orgoth but didn't destroy him due to his increased defense.

"Oh no. Orgoth withstood the force of Mighty Mage's attack." Yami said, knowing what this meant.

"That's right, Yugi. Orgoth only took 10 damage points, dropping his heart points down to 20."

"But because Orgoth has an attack power of 40, my Mighty Mage took 20 damage points. But Mighty Mage does still have 20 heart points left. He's not finished yet, Duke." Yami told his opponent.

"He will be, after my next turn." Devlin said as he took his next dice and rolled them. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of level 2 magic crests and a defense crest. "Advance, Orgoth the Relentless." He told his monster before telling his opponent. "Right now, Orgoth has 40 attack points, but his special ability allows me to use 6 magic crests to increase his attack power by 30 points. More than enough to obliterate your Mage." He said as Orgoth's attack power increased to 70.

"Even you must know it takes more than strength to win, Devlin. Without strategy, power's just an empty threat." Yami told his opponent.

"Is that so?" Devlin asked before telling his powerful monster. "Orgoth, attack Mighty Mage with Super diamond Blade Strike!" Before Orgoth destroyed Mighty Mage with 1 swipe of his sword!

"Oh no! That leaves only the Knight of Twin Swords between Duke and my heart points. How do I get out of this?" Yugi asked in his friend's mind.

"Hahahaha. Looks like your beginner's luck has finally given out, Yugi." Duke said with confidence.

Yami took his next dice as Yugi spoke in his friend's mind. "What if he's right? Dungeon Dice Monsters is a different game. Maybe I'm just not good enough to beat Duke. Poor Joey. I promised to get him out of that suit, now I'm about to let my best friend down."

As Yami leaned down a bit, Devlin said to his almost defeated opponent. "Give it up, Yugi. Stop wasting my time and surrender."

When Devlin's cheerleading girlfriends said his name again in a cheering way, Joey tried to say something to his best friend. And when they tried to order him to silence again by getting a muzzle, this time, he stopped them and said. "Muzzle yourselves, I got something to say here." Before turning to face his best friend. "Don't let them rattle you, Yuge. You've been in tougher situations against better duelists than this guy and you've always turned it around. You even beat Pegasus, and he was as crooked as they come. You won the entire Duelist Kingdom tournament, Yugi."

"Even so, this is different." Yami told his friend.

But Joey didn't give up after hearing that. "Come on, this is no time to be humble, buddy. You won the championship because you were the best gamer on the island. Better than Weevil, better than Mako, even better than me and Mai. All because you believed in the Heart of the Cards, no matter who your opponent was or how tough he seemed. Don't forget you beat the inventor of Duel Monsters at his own game. You can beat this joker at his. You can't let him shake you, you're the King of Games, Yuge. So what if Dice Monsters has a few new rules? If you just trust in yourself, you can still win. You taught me that, pal."

Tristan believed in what his friend said and added. "What he said!"

"Joey's right, Yugi, you gotta keep the faith!" Tea added.

"Very well spoken, Joey. No one can accuse you of rolling over and playing dead." Mai finished as she held Tea's hand.

While Devlin growled at this, Yami smiled as he picked up his dice and said. "You know, you're absolutely right, Joey. I can be Dr forget what made me Duel Monsters champion in the 1st place: believing in the Heart of the Cards. And Dungeon Dice Monsters is no different. As long as I have the same faith in my dice that I have in my Dueling deck, I can still win this." He said before addressing his opponent. "So I suggest you keep an eye on your last heart point, Duke, because I'm coming after it!"

Meanwhile, with Yugi's grandpa

The old Muto was encouraging his grandson. "That's right, Yugi, trust in your heart and the dice and you'll never lose."

Back with the Duel

'Trust in your heart.' Yami said to Yugi.

'Let's do it, partner.' Yugisaid to his spirit friend.

But Devlin was getting impatient. "Quit stalling, Yugi, I've got a game to win."

"Or to lose!" Yami countered before he rolled his dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting a pair of attack crests and a level 2 movement crest. "Now, I use that movement crest to move my Knight forward 2 squires!" Before his knight did just that. "Then, I'll add 4 attack crests from my crest pool to the 2 attack crests I just rolled, giving my Knight a total of 6 attack crests."

That was when Yugi spoke in Yami's mind. "Orgoth only has a total of 5 defense crests. With my advantage, I should be able to defeat Orgoth and go on the offensive."

"I call on the Knight of Twin Swords!" Yami said before his attack power increased. "Double Slash attack!" He said before his knight began attacking Orgoth.

But Devlin was prepared for this. "You amateur! You may have 6 attack crests, but I have Yaranzo's special ability: he can change any crests in my crest pool to defense crests, giving him more than enough power to defend himself from your attack." He said, before Yaranzo's special ability increased Orgoth's defense points, allowing the powerful monster to defend himself against all the slashes, much to Yami and his friends' concern.

"I can't believe it! Orgoth stopped all 6 of the Knight of Twin Swords' slash attacks!" Yami said with disbelief.

"I'd say your time's just about up, Yugi. In a few more rolls of the dice, your heart points are gonna be history." Devlin said with confidence. "Now you see why they call Orgoth the Relentless." He said before holding up his next dice. "You're finished. You got nothing left." Before he rolled, getting a level 2 attack crest, a level 2 movement crest and a trap crest. "Orgoth the Relentless, attack the Knight of Twin Swords!" He told his monster before Orgoth did just that, destroying the Knight of Twin Swords with 1 swipe of his sword, much to Yami's and his friends' concern. "That was your last monster, Yugi. Now there's nothing in my way. This is gonna be sweet. I'm only 1 move away from breaking your heart."

"It's easy to give up, to give in when things get tough, but that's not the way to win. I won't quit no matter the odds, Devlin! That's not the way to get ahead, either in Duel Monsters or in life! You know a lot about this game, Duke, but you have a lot to learn about the people you play. Maybe after this match is over, you'll have learned a lot more than just a new Dungeon Dice rule." He told his opponent before rolling his next dice, getting an attack crest, a level 2 movement crest and a trap crest.

"Whatcha got, preach?" Devlin asked.

"No match. There's nothing I can do this turn." Yami answered with regret.

"Haha. So much for your philosophy." Devlin said mockingly as he took his next dice. "You're the 1 who's about to be schooled. Just watch the master roll his dice." He said before rolling his next dice, getting a magic crest and a pair of movement crests. "Perfect. 2 more movement crests." He said before addressing his monster. "Orgoth the Relentless, move forward 2 spaces!" Before Orgoth did just that, moving in front of Yami's heart points. "Orgoth the Relentless, attack Yugi and his heart points!" Before Orgoth did just that, attacking Yami and making his middle heart point deactivate! "You only have 1 heart point left. At last, I'll avenge Pegasus' loss and show everyone what I phony you are, Yugi."

"I wouldn't gloat just yet, Devlin. All I have to do is summon a monster and I can turn this match around." Yami countered.

"Dream on." Devlin said with overconfidence. "Sure it sounds simple but I control the field, Yugi. You don't have any room left to dimension the dice." He revealed, much to Yugi's friends' concern. "Millions of gaming fans around the world are glued to the TV, waiting for me to win this match and show you up for the fake you are. So this is the moment of truth, Yugi."

"He's right, it is the moment of truth." Yugi spoke in Yami's mind as he picked up his next dice. "I know there's still 1 monster that can help me win. I just have to believe and call on it right now!"

Yami then rolled his next dice. "Go, dice roll!" Getting...a pair of level 4 summoning crests and a level 2 trap crest.

"Nice. A level 4 summoning!" Joey said with happiness.

"Nice roll. Too bad I got you so boxed in, you don't have enough room to dimension the dice." Devlin said with overconfidence.

But Yami was grinning as he told his opponent. "Don't be so sure. There's always a way to dimension the dice, Devlin. You just have to believe."

"Don't tell me how to play my game!"

"I'll let the dice tell you." Yami countered before he dimensioned his level 4 dice and the hologram of the die rose from a hemmed-in square, but as it started to open, Duke saw what Yami knew already: that he had no room to even have three open spaces in a row, but he did have six squares in a zig-zag pattern, and the cube was able to unfold perfectly into this last remaining room.

"No! It's falling perfectly into alignment. You've completed the summoning!" Devlin said with disbelief.

"Yes. And now I summon the Dark Magician!" Yami said with a smile.

That made Devlin's eyes widen. "The Dark Magician?! No!"

"The Dark Magician has never let me down, Duke. All I had to do was trust my dice. And sure enough, he has appeared!" Yami said as the Dark Magician appeared on the board.

This got Devlin to think to himself. "I've been underestimating this kid all along, and now he's managed to dimension his favorite monster! Could I have been wrong, about him and Pegasus? No, I can't believe that!"

"I move the Dark Magician forward and use his 40 attack points to bring down Orgoth the Relentless." Yami said before doing just that before the Dark Magician moved in front of Orgoth. "Go, dark magic attack!" Yami said before the Dark Magician destroyed Orgoth the Relentless! "With only 20 defense points, Orgoth didn't stand a chance against my Dark Magician." Yami said while his friends cheered for him.

Devlin said mentally. "Keep smiling, Yugi. It'll make it even sweeter once I take out your last heart point, and I know the perfect way to do it." Before saying out loud while rolling his next dice. "Your comeback ends now!" Getting a pair of magic crests and a defense crest. "I move the Dark Assailant!" Before his monster jumped on the nearby chest. "Remember when I told you about item summoning, Yugi? The time has come. Dark Assailant, open the treasure chest!"

"He's completed the summoning. What could it be?" Yugi asked in Yami's mind.

The chest then exploded and a monster appeared when the smoke cleared. "Say hello to Monster Cannon."

"Monster Cannon?" Tristan asked.

"What's that thing do?" Tea asked with confusion.

"No idea, baby. But we're about to find out what it does." Mai finished for her girlfriend and lover.

What's it do? It takes down Yugi's Dark Magician." Devlin answered. "What's the matter, Yugi, never heard of Monster Cannon? That's too bad, because if you had, you'd know that Monster Cannon is a weapon that fires a monster at the enemy instead of a cannonball." He explained. "Today's target: the Dark Magician. Monster Cannon, ready, aim-" He said before Yami cut him off.

"I activate Dark Magician's special ability now!"

"What?"

"Conceal yourself with Magical Hats!" Yami said before the Magical Hats appeared and concealed the Dark Magician before turning into 4 hats. "Feeling lucky, Devlin? My Mage is under 1 of these hats, but you only have 1 shot to get it right."

Devlin growled. "Your carnival tricks won't save you this time, Yugi." Before telling his weapon. "Monster Cannon, attack the Dark Magician from the second hat from the left! Fire!" Before the Cannon fired the Dark Assailant at Devlin's intended hat. "It's gotta be there." But when the smoke cleared, the Dark Magician wasn't there.

"Looks like you guessed wrong." Yami said.

That was when the hat on the far right opened and the Dark Magician jumped out of it. "No! It can't be! He survived?"

"I should thank you, Devlin, for putting the Dark Magician's special abilities in this game the same as in Duel Monsters."

Devlin growled before telling his monster. "Yaranzo, retreat to your original squire!" Before Yaranzo did just that. "The Dark Magician has a few more special abilities. I'll have to strengthen my defenses before I lose my advantage."

Yami then took his next dice. "You can run, Devlin, but you can't hide!" Before rolling them, getting level 2 magic crests and an attack crest. "I'll use those 2 magic crests to use another special ability: my Dark Magician's Mystic Box." Before the box appeared and the Dark Magician went inside it. "Your Warp Vortex inspired me to find an alternative path to your side of the field." Before the box was stabbed by magic daggers.

"How you gonna do that, by destroying your own monster?" Devlin asked before the box opened to reveal that it was Yaranzo that was stabbed, destroying him in the process, much to Devlin's horror as the Dark Magician came out unharmed. "No. Yaranzo! Your Dark Magician switched places with my monster." Before seeing that the Dark Magician was right in front of his last heart point. "And now he's on my side of the field and there's nothing to stand between him and my last heart point!"

"Which means he'll deliver the final blow!" Yami said before addressing his most trusted monster. "Dark Magic Attack!" Before the Dark Magician fired his attack, deactivating Devlin's final heart point, therefore, making Yami the winner of the Duel before his friends and the crowd watching cheered, especially Joey, who tore off the dog suit.

Later on

Yugi, his grandpa and friends gathered together with Duke, who now saw that he'd been wrong all along. "I'm sorry that I accused you of cheating, Yugi. The better player won today: you. You proved you did beat Pegasus, fair and square. I was such a creep today and thanks to those cameras, the whole world knows it. My store's ruined. Nobody's gonna wanna play Dungeon Dice Monsters now."

But Yugi wasn't so sure of that and said with a smile. "That's not true, Duke. Dungeon Dice Monsters has the potential to become a big hit."

Solomon agreed with his grandson. "That's true. I haven't seen a game this exciting since Duel Monsters. You've got to keep your store open."

Tea also agreed as well. "There's more than enough for 2 game stores in town. I've got a feeling that once Dungeon Dice Monsters takes off, you'll both have all the costumer's you can handle."

"Amen to that, baby. Who knows, I'll probably visit more often." Mai said as Tea sat in her lap and embraced her.

That made Duke cheer up a bit. "No way! You really think so?"

"Sure. Dice Monsters is great, it's you I don't like." Joey said while holding a die.

"I'd love to learn how to play Dice Monsters." Tristan added while also holding a die.

"And now that Joey's out of the dog house, hopefully things will get back to normal around here and I can finally get back to playing Duel Monsters." Yugi said with a smile.

Duke then looked at Yugi. "That's it? How can you forgive me so easily, Yugi? I was a total jerk to you and your friends."

"The game is over now. Let's just leave the fighting on the field, because revenge leaves you with nothing except more bad feelings, Duke. And if you're sorry, the best thing you can do is be friends." Yugi explained with a smile.

Duke seemed to accept that answer. "I am sorry, and you're offering me something better than winning."

Yugi held out his hand. "Friendship always is."

Duke then took Yugi's hand, accepting him as a friend and making everyone smile before he got an email and checked it, getting excited about what it was. "Whoa, Industrial Illusions did send a contract after all, and they wanna take Dungeon Dice Monsters global!" He said, making everyone happy for him, as he got what he'd wanted after all, even without Pegasus. He then looked at Yugi. "Thank you so much, Yugi. I couldn't have done it without you settling me straight."

"Duke, you invented a great game."

"But you made me see it was missing something: that it's not just about mastering the rules, but getting to know your opponent." Duke said to his new friend.

Yugi agreed to that. "Right. It's not just about mastering the rules and winning, but about having fun and making new friends." He said before thinking to himself as Yami shared his smile. "Because you never know where you're gonna find them, or how close they're going to become."

Later on at night

After parting ways from their friends, Mai and Tea went to the brunette's house and had a dinner date, talking about how Dungeon Dice Monsters was truly an interesting game to play. And even though both women felt more comfortable with playing Duel Monsters, Duke's new game was also fun to play, so they agreed to occasionally practice playing the game while sticking to Duel Monsters. And when they finished their dinner, they watched a romantic lesbian movie before getting into bed falling asleep in each other's arms.

There you go my dear friends, the Dungeon Dice Monsters arc is complete at last. The next chapter will be up when some of my other stories are updated, along with some chapters of a future Voltron/Mortal Kombat story that I have planned, inspired by a friend of mine's Crossover story and seeing the latest Mortal Kombat animated movie. Rate and review and I'll see you next time, my dear friends.
