Chapter 1 From the Future

1996

Out in a forest everything was peaceful as most days were.

However suddenly a blue sphere appeared out of nowhere before someone dropped down.

"OW! Fuck! That did not go as I planned."

A person in black leather pants and black combat with with a black shirt with a skull and a black leather Jacket with three spikes on each shoulder and spiked gloves and hood was seen. He had brown hair, Forest green eyes and white skin.

"Ok so that was a bust." He said before pressing something in his ear. "Jason you copy? Vic? Soap, Alex? Anyone read me. Well, fuck. I guess I'm alone out here. Welp, might as well do my job before looking for the others." He said walking off .

25 years

The person who appeared in the forest 25 years later had changed the timeline drastically by eliminating certain individuals.

This man came from a very distant future where a great war unlike anything humanity has ever seen occurred with devastating results.

So he came back in time to eliminate those who's descendants would cause this war. By doing so these people would never be born and stop the war from from ever occurring.

And during his time in the past he had also helped those in need. Such as helping a man who's wife was dying from a rare and incurable disease using his technology to make a cure that was now known .

After 25 years his mission was complete and was now searching for others from his timeline to do one last thing.

Right now he was in a school next to a person he helped take over a powerful company for further plans. Seto Kaiba.

"We don't have much time you know. Sooner or later we need to find it." Seto said reading a book.

"We still got 12 years. Plenty of time."

"Hey Joey, Earth to Joey."

"Hmm?"

He looked seeing Yugio Moto playing duel monsters with his friend Joey Wheeler who was new to the game.

"Hey are you in there? It's your turn." Yugi said.

"What an amateur." Seto said.

"You weren't all that good when you started either. Given time anyone can be good at the game with skill and luck."

"Skill I can agree with. Luck not so much." Seto said before Yugi beat Joey with a powerful card. "Need I say more?" Seto said making him chuckle.

"Some things never change."

Thats when they heard Yugi talking about some super Rare card his grandfather had.

"Rare card?" Seto asked.

"Thinking what I'm thinking?"

"Yup." Seto said as they stood up.

Later

Soon Yugi and his friends entered his grandfather's game shop.

"Grandpa? I'm home." Yugi said walking to him.

"And I see you've brought company." Solomon said.

"Gramps, Can you show my friends you super Rare Card?" Yugi asked.

"Rare Card? My special Card?" Solomon asked thinking about it.

"Please, Please?" Yugi begged.

"Pretty please?" Joey asked making him laugh.

"How can I refuse." Solomon said taking out some little box. "You kids are in for a special treat. I don't take this card out too often." Solomon said opening it. "Ready. Here it is." Solomon said showing it to be a powerful dragon type monster. "The Blue eyes white Dragon. So rare, so powerful, it never leaves my hands." Solomon said amazing them before Tristin took it shocking them.

"Doesn't look all that special to me." Tristan said. (IDIOT!)

Solomon snatched it from him.

"This card is priceless! There are only four of them in all of the world." Solomon said.

"Speaking of priceless, I'm ready to trade." Joey said.

"Not for this card." Solomon said.

"Huh? No, I didn't mean that card. I meant some other cards you got lying around." Joey said.

Thats when someone else walked in.

"Hello. Can I help you?" Solomon asked.

"If you can't, it certainly wouldn't surprise us." Seto said.

"Kaibi? Sean?" Yugi asked.

The other person was known as Sean Ashburn Kruger. He was on friendly terms with the group. Especially Tea.

Tea however blushed a little remembering when Sean saved her a couple months ago from some creep and grew a crush on him.

"Don't they have some fancy company to run?" Tristan asked.

"Not that it's any of your business, but we've come to see the card." Seto said.

"Hey, you guys into duel monsters, too? This is perfect. Maybe we could all duel together sometime." Joey said.

"Us duel you? We'd have a bigger challenge playing solitaire." Seto said.

"What?" Joey asked.

"Sean and I are the number one ranked dualists in the country, and both of us are the favorite to win the championship in a couple months. You wouldn't last two minutes in a duel against us." Seto said.

"Enough." Sean said ending any possible fights. "Look we just came to see the card not cause a fight. Contrary to that." Sean said before both spotted the card. "Oh what do you know it was the Blue eyes." Sean said as Seto moved to it before Solomon put it away.

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" Solomon asked before Seto slammed a case down before opening it up as Solomon gasped in awe.

"Listen to me, old man. Give me your blue Eyes White Dragon and I'll trade you for all of these." Seto said as in the case were hundreds of rare cards.

"Whoa!" Everyone yelled.

"Ah nice...But no thanks." Solomon said.

"Huh? Who says no to that? Why would you keep one card compared to all that?" Sean asked confused.

"It's not about how rare the card is. It has sentimental value to it. You see this card was given to me by a dear friend. So departing from it is out of the question." Solomon said as Seto frowned.

"Oh I get it. I can understand that." Sean said as Seto was about to leave. "Don't do anything rash." Sean said making him smirk before leaving.

"Aren't you going with him?" Joey asked.

"Ah I'm good for now. Besides Ain't I allowed to stay here." Sean said.

"It would be better if we saw your face for a change." Tristan said.

"Tristan!" Tea scolded.

"What?" Tristan asked as Sean removed it before they widened their eyes seeing a deep claw mark scar on his left eye going down to his neck and a X formation scar on his right.

"Whoa. What happened?" Joey asked as Tea traced her hands on them before he gently grabbed them.

"Relax. It was years ago. They don't bug me. Now let's see what ya got. I'm curious after all." Sean said grinning making them smile.

Next day

Yugi and the others arrived back at the game shop after school.

"Hey, Gramps. Back for more cards." Joey said.

"Grandpa?" Yugi called out but he wasn't in the shop.

"Maybe he went out?" Tea guessed.

"Maybe, but why would he leave the door unlocked?" Joey asked before the phone rang before Yugi picked it up.

"Hello. Game shop." Yugi answered.

"Ah, Yugi. Perfect." Seto said shocking him.

"Kaiba?" Yugi asked.

"Your grandfather's here visiting, but he's not feeling well. Why don't you come by my office and pick him up?" Seto asked before hanging up.

"Kaiba? What have you done, Kaiba?" Yugi questioned.

Soon the group rushed to Kaiba's building before they made it to the top floor seeing Solomon on the ground.

"Grandpa!" Yugi yelled rushing to him.

"Yugi, I failed. I wanted to teach that boy Kaiba a lesson about the heart of the cards, but I lost." Solomon said before groaning.

"How's the old man feeling, hmm?" Seto asked.

"Kaiba, you sleaze, what have done to him?" Joey asked.

"Oh relax he's fine. All we did was duel nothing more. You think I would look good if I physically attacked an old man? No. All we did we duel nothing more. Of course though we did put our best card on the line. This was his of course." Seto said holding the blue eyes before sending it to Sean who caught it between his fingers.

"May I?" Sean asked.

"Please...Treat it with respect." Solomon said making him nod.

"Look he'll be fine. He's just emotionally hurt. Nothing more or less. Though I guess perhaps the way they dueled it caught him by surprise." Sean said as medical came up.

Tea had drawn some symbol on their hands to let Yugi know they were there for him while Joey and Tristan took Solomon to the hospital while she stayed behind to help Yugi who took his Grandpa's deck.

Both were in a highly advanced Arena that brought the cards to life using special hologram technology.

Tea looked at this before seeing Sean in the stands watching before walking to him.

"Your not gonna lecture me about letting Solomon and Seto duel are ya?" Sean asked.

"No but...How can you be friends with Kaiba after the way he acts?" Tea asked.

"Look. Seto has his dark moments but he's not evil. He just picked up some bad habits from his step father. But he does also have good moments as well. Especially towards his brother and me." Sean said as the duel started getting intense when Kaiba summoned a blue eyes White dragon.

"But I thought..." Tea tried to say.

"Surprised? Kaiba has all three blue eyes in his deck. This was his way of making sure it wasn't used against him by someone he didn't know." Sean said.

As the duel started getting intense Tea noticed the look in Sean's eye. The look of sadness, Regret, Loss and defeat.

"Sean?" Tea asked getting his attention. "Are you ok?" Tea asked.

"I'm fine." Sean said.

"That look on your face says otherwise." Tea said making him frown before sighing.

"Tea...Theres a lot about me you wouldn't understand." Sean said.

"What does that mean?" Tea asked.

"Would you believe me if I told you I was from the future...A million years from now?" Sean asked.

Tea looked at him to see any kind of deception but saw nothing but truth.

"Go on." Tea said.

"I come from an Era that was ended by war. Where everything was ended by way. Because of the cruel ideals of those who wanted to restore the old ways to show those who were the strongest. In my time Earth had long since been dead since the core had destabilized due to man's actions. 12 years from now the world will die and the human race will come together to find a way to get everyone off world." Sean said shocking her.

"But if Earth was dead..." Tea tried to say.

"We found a new solar system. One where hundreds of worlds existed. Instead of living on just one planet all together the remaining leaders decided to choose which world to live on controlled by the nations you know today. My planet...Named after Sparta was the new leading faction after some debate with the other nations. Under our leadership the new united nations governments prospered. There were no wars...No poverty and crime was near none existent. Then a group of extremists started up and wanted to revert to the old ways where war was always on the horizon to show who were the strongest. They were exiled but in later years they created weapons of mass destruction. And they used them without a second thought." Sean said.

"You guys went to war didn't you?" Tea asked.

"For the first time in a million years. These people destroyed world after world without pausing. Built a massive machine army to fight against us since they were few in number by human standards. It lasted about a couple years. By the time we destroyed the leadership and took out the machines...It was already too late. Every world we had was destroyed. Damaged beyond repair. And with little food and fuel left we knew wouldn't survive to make it to the next Solar system. So an idea was put on the table. We would go back in time a million years into the past...And wipe out those who would start the war...And advance the current timelines technology to our level." Sean said.

"So...you killed people?" Tea asked.

"I did what I had to. The war was hell. Trillions are dead because of their bloodline. Unfortunately one of my targets was also the one who helped make it possible to get off the earth before it dies. But I had no choice. Since One he did finish his work he would be untouchable for his work. But fortunately there is a way off this world without him. I didn't come back alone." Sean said confusing her.

"What do you mean?" Tea asked.

"Theres a ship from my time called the Spirit of Fire. It has all of our technology and ship designs on it. But I can't find it. I still got plenty of time but...I don't know where it is." Sean said before Yugi summoned Exodia and defeated Kaiba. "Damn." Sean said.

"So when you do find that ship...What are you gonna do?" Tea asked.

"Relax for a long time...Settle down. I've done my part and I just wanna relax. Live a simple life when we leave Earth." Sean said making her smile lightly.

"Open your mind!" Yugi yelled doing something to Kaiba.

"Tea...I did what I had to for my brothers and sister and friends. And I would do it again if meant we could have a better life when everything is said and done." Sean said walking away.

Later

Seto was at his desk looking out of it.

"Sean...Whats wrong with Seto?" Mokuba asked concerned.

"Ah he'll be fine. He's just figuring himself out. Don't worry." Sean said heading out.

Arriving at school Tristan pulled him into a headlock.

"So the future duelist huh?" Tristan teased.

"Tea." Sean said annoyed making her giggle.

"Oh come on how do you keep something like that a secret?" Tea asked.

"Fair enough. But I am gonna get you back for that." Sean said sitting down.

"So how old are you anyway?" Yugi asked.

"About 73 years old. Theres a special serum that keeps people like me young. That right has to be earned though." Sean said.

"So what did you do?" Joey asked.

"That is a surprise." Sean said making them groan.
