Chapter 5 Cloak of Darkness
It's been a couple weeks since the Rishi station was destroyed by Ward and the others to let the Fleet know what Grievous was up to.
Now a new station was being built while another on the Kree Home world to monitor the Separatists. (Sora the Kree aren't Evil its the Supreme Intelligence thats the problem)
Right now Sean was on his home world of Earth without his armor on getting examined by professional doctors within his group.
"Everything checks out. No signs of the same disease as your mother."
"Good." Sean said before standing up and headed outside before Aayla approached him.
"Are you ok?" Aayla asked.
"Of course. I do these checkups ever couple months to insure the same disease my mother has doesn't appear inside me." Sean said.
"I thought you said it only comes to one member every 30 generations." Aayla said.
"Doesn't mean it's always completely accurate." Sean said getting his armor on.
"I see. You're scared aren't you?' Aayla asked.
"Somewhat. My mother was in agony for a few months when it finally made itself known. I tried everything to cure it. Nothing worked." Sean said holding his helmet.
"And you don't want to be in the same position." Aayla said.
"Not for reasons you're clearly thinking. I'm the only one who can use the stones all at once. David doesn't know enough about them as I do so he would be unprepared and we don't have time to waste for him to fully study them. And Turok is adopted so he could never handle them all." Sean said placing his helmet on before she gently grabbed his hand.
"Sean...It's ok to feel fear in situations like this." Aayla said as she held his face removing his helmet.
"I know. I don't deny I'm afraid. I fear if I do fall to this disease...I won't be able to accomplish my goals and promises to others to improve the universe." Sean said.
"That won't happen. I promise." Aayla said placing her head against his making him sigh.
Later
"So far the Separatists have been quiet which in my view is...Concerning." Tarkin said.
"Hmm?" Sean asked.
"No attacks, No fleet movement, no communications intercepted." Tarkin listed.
"You fear they are up to something." Thrawn said.
"Or worse gathering allies. Considering we now have the advantage due to a tremendous boost in troops from our new allies it would make sense he would wish to find his own." Tarkin said.
"And he could." Sean said getting their attention. "It's no secret that I have my own enemies. Groups of people who oppose my rule and ideals for selfish reasons. While I control the very edge of the Galaxy...Even I have enemies." Sean said.
"What kind of enemies?" Tarkin asked.
"Various. Other Mutants who believe the Mutant race should replace the Human race on Earth. Groups who are intent on conquering everything that stands in their way. And various other groups. Other powered individuals both in science and magic. The Galaxy has not yet seen the fully capabilities of those from Earth...Not even close." Sean said before an alert came through.
"Hmm?" Kenobi asked before Anakin's protocol droid 3PO appeared in hologram form.
"Huh. Isn't that Padme's droid?" Sean asked.
"Actually it used to be Anakin's but..." Kenobi tried to say.
"This is a priority message from Senator Amidala on Rodia! We require immediate assistance." 3PO said before Battle droids appeared.
"Rodia? Why in the world would Padme go there?" Sean asked.
"If I recall correctly I believe the planet's supply transports were attacked by pirates." Mace said.
"Why was this not brought to my attention? My goal is to help those in need." Sean said.
"I thought the Senate informed you." Tarkin said surprised by that.
"I'll have a word with the ones who were supposed to tell me in person. Set course for Rodia at once." Sean said.
"At once." Thrawn said.
Later
Nute Gunray laughed as he had both Padme, JarJar and 3PO were lined up about to be executed.
"I have been waiting for this day for many years Amidala." Gunray said making her glare. "Prepare to fire."
"Gunray please. I beg you." Farr said.
"Silence!" Gunray yelled before a portal opened up making him look. "Now what?" Gunray asked annoyed.
Thats when Sean stepped through making Gunray scream in fright making Padme smirk.
"Thing about me Viceroy...I have a very powerful friend." Padme said as Sean slashed through all the droids with ease before Gunray was left who whimpered in fear as he backed into a wall.
"PLEASE! DON'T KILL ME!" Gunray begged.
"Oh I don't plan to. Your more valuable alive." Sean said knocking him out before approaching Padme who smiled. "Are you ok?" Sean asked taking his helmet off.
"And I thought Anakin could make a good entrance." Padme said making him grin before Dozens of ships arrived before Mandolorians secured Gunray.
"Senator Farr." Sean said making him gulp.
"Sean, Wait." Padme said.
"Step forward." Sean said making him do so.
"I will accept the full responsibilities of my actions and the punishments that come with it." Farr said.
"There will be no punishment." Sean said surprising him. "I understand you did what you thought was required for your people. A good leader makes difficult choices for their well being. You just simple put your faith in the wrong person. But no matter. Your actions have scored us a major victory in the capture of Gunray. And Further I have sent for a large convoy of supply ships to bring your people food and water in a matter of minutes." Sean said making him smile.
"Thank you, Lord Kruger." Farr said as Sean and Padme walked off.
"Sean...Thank you." Padme said as he smiled at her.
"As a Leader myself I know a difficult choice comes with the territory. Though...Promise me you'll run by what you're doing beforehand. I would hate to see something happen to someone I care about." Sean said making her grin.
"Well, Maybe I want to be rescued." Padme teased making him chuckle before she kissed his cheek. "Still thank you for helping an old friend of mine." Padme said before she walked away with a sway in her hips.
"Hmph." Sean said before a transport arrived with his Apprentice and Master Luminara. "Lets get this fool out of here." Sean said.
Later
With Viceroy Gunray now captured the Republic was in high spirits seeing this could mean a quicker end to the war.
Now on the way to a Republic Cruiser to head back to Coruscant.
Sean, Ahsoka and Luminara were heading to meet Tarkin on the cruiser to escort the Viceroy back to Earth for Trial.
Arriving on the cruiser vie a smaller ship they forced Gunray inside.
"This is a serious miscarriage of justice. I demand my Litigator." Gunray said.
"Shut up." Sean said punching him forward before Mandalorians and Senate Commandos escorted the Viceroy to his Cell.
"I can understand the Mandalorians since you like to be prepared but the Senate Commandos? How does he rate all this security? He's not dangerous." Ahsoka said.
"Not physically, no. He's no threat to us in a fight. But when it comes to his allies he is indeed very dangerous." Sean said.
"Kruger's right Ahsoka. Don't let your overconfidence give Gunray an advantage, Ahsoka." Luminara said.
"Tarkin, get us moving." Sean said on comms.
"Already on the move. Though I don't understand why we don't just use the Space stone to get there sooner." Tarkin said.
"I've had another vision and I believe that Dooku will send his army to rescue Gunray...And something else might happen. I need to confirm my suspicions." Sean said.
"I see." Tarkin said.
"Besides I have no intention of letting Gunray live if they come for him." Sean said.
Meanwhile
Deep in Separatist territory Dooku was talking with his Master.
"Gunray's capture could prove to be a serious threat my friend. The Viceroy will not last long under the interrogation of the Blood of Thanos." Sidious said.
"I have already put a plan into action. My best agent Ventress will either free Gunray or silence him." Dooku said.
"Ventress? You are putting a great deal of faith in an operative who has failed us in the past." Sidious said.
"I never said she was the only one I was sending." Dooku said.
"Oh?" Sidious asked curious.
"I have...Gained some new allies. The other one I am sending is very, very gifted. He will make sure her task is completed to the letter." Dooku said.
"I see. I hope this faith in your new allies is well placed." Sidious said before vanishing.
Thats when Ventress walked in.
"Master?" Ventress asked.
"There is no margin for Error this time child. You must prove yourself worthy of being my apprentice." Dooku said.
"I am worthy. As you shall See." Ventress said.
"And you will not be doing this alone. Allow me to introduce your partner." Dooku said before someone walked in.
"And you would be?" Ventress asked.
Meanwhile
On the Star Destroyer that held Gunray a Senate Commando approached A clone known as Gree.
"How goes the interrogation? Has the Viceroy cracked?"
"Not yet. Neimoidians are a slippery lot, but the Commander will break him soon enough. He's letting the Jedi handle it for now though." Gree said.
"Your thoughts betray you, Viceroy. I can sense your concern. The fear that you will lose the Wealth and the power the war has given you." Luminara said.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." Gunray said.
"You hide a great many things. The names of your secret allies. The Location of their bases." Luminara said.
"I am an innocent pawn in all of this." Gunray said.
"If your just an expendable pawn...Who are you protecting?" Sean asked.
"No one! I...I know nothing." Gunray said before yelping as Ahsoka's sword slammed into the table.
"I've just about had it with this crap! Tell us what we want to know right now or I'll start cutting you limb from limb." Ahsoka said making him yell in shock as he fell over.
Before Luminara could stop her Sean held out a hand.
"Wait." Sean said.
"Perhaps I was too hasty. Let us negotiate." Gunray said.
"She wasn't serious was she?" Luminara asked.
"She's patient as I have taught her to be. But even she had limits before she knows a different approach is required. Hence the outburst." Sean said.
"I see." Luminara said before the ship shook violently.
"Tarkin! Whats going on?" Sean asked.
"Looks like you were correct. Droid fighters are attacking and they brought boarding ships." Tarkin said as they hit the hanger.
"Ok we'll handle this. Ahsoka stay here. If they have come for the Viceroy then the droids attacking may be a diversion. In which case you will stay here to insure that does not happen." Sean said.
"All right." Ahsoka said as he, Luminara and Gree left.
"It appears you are in no position to negotiate after all, Padawan. Perhaps after my rescue..." Gunray tried to say.
"Rescue? What makes you think they aren't here to make sure you don't talk?" Ahsoka asked making him gulp.
Meanwhile
In the hanger one clone was seen getting up before Ventress got out of one of the boarding ships before seeing him and grins activating her lightsabers and charged at him as he fired at her.
"All units! Theres a bald...AHH!" The clone yelled as his head was cut clean off.
Ventress smirked before grabbing his com-link from his arm.
"Not bad."
Ventress looked seeing her partner who had a hood over the top half of his face and his right arm looked cybernetic with a small grin on his face.
"I aim to please." Ventress said walking to him. "So heres the plan. You'll enter the engine room and plant the explosives. When thats done wait for my signal. When I activate them...You play your part." Ventress said.
"Sounds like a plan. Better get moving."
With that both split up.
The Republic and Sean's forces were fighting off against the Super battle Droids easily before Sean's blade cut through some of them easily before Luminara cut through them as Gree shot them.
Sean grabbed the last one before crushing it easily.
"That was too easy." Sean said.
"I think he's right General. Something doesn't feel right." Gree said.
"I agree. But what are they up to?" Luminara asked.
As this was going on Ahsoka walked to Gunray.
"Looks like your rescue/Assassination failed." Ahsoka said making him sigh.
"I am ready to discuss our bargain again." Gunray said.
Thats when Ahsoka heard lightsabers making her look seeing two cutting through the ceiling before Ventress jumped down and killed two Senate Commandos easily as Ahsoka rushed to her.
"Well, It's the Jedi Deserter. Hows your old master might I ask?" Ventres mocked making her glare before attacking her with her double bladed sword which took Ventress by surprise.
Sean growled as he sensed what was happening.
"Ahsoka. Get the men up to the detention level!" Sean yelled.
"Right away, sir." Gree said.
Ahsoka proved she was a lot more skilled than when she first encountered her during the Hutt mission.
"So you've actually improved. But that won't save you from the likes of me!" Ventress said before getting kicked back by Sean who stood over her with his own sword glaring at her behind his gold visor.
"I would surrender if I were you." Sean said spinning his weapon as Luminar, Ahsoka and the men surrounded her.
"Not my style." Ventress said pulling out a detonator and pressed a button before the engine room exploded making the ship shake before Ventress managed to escape through the lift.
"She planned that far ahead?" A mandolorian asked.
"She's good I'll admit that much. Lets go." Sean said.
"What about Gunray? We can't leave him unguarded." Luminara said.
"The troops are more than capable of keeping an eye on him. Besides the more of us there are facing her the odds of success are high." Sean said.
"He's got a point." Ahsoka said.
"Don't worry, General. He's not going anywhere." Gree said.
"See to it that he doesn't." Sean said as they jumped down.
In the vents however Ventress's partner waited paietnly before getting the signal making him smirk.
"Now it's my turn."
While Sean and the others went off to fight Ventress the rest remained behind to hold off any other attempts to Free Gunray.
Thats when they heard clanging in the vents.
"Oh boy I don't like the sound of that." A clone said before someone landed from the hole Ventress made before they saw her partner who grins.
"On your knees! Raise your hands!" A mandolorian yelled before he raised his right arm before it turned into a Giant blade.
"THE GRIM REAPER!" Another Mandolorian yelled before they blasted him making him grin as he charged right at them. (Earth's mightiest heroes version)
Sean and Ahsoka fought against Ventress and easily were beating her before Sean kicked her into the wall before aiming his blade at her neck.
"You wouldn't risk everything fighting us down here. Your up to something." Sean said making her grin before jumping away.
"Your right. An old friend of yours should have Gunray by now." Ventress said leaving.
"What did she mean by old friend?" Ahsoka asked before the comms went off.
"Sir! The Grim Reaper showed up and Freed Gunray!"
"WHAT!" Sean yelled enraged.
"Who's the Grim Reaper?" Luminara asked.
Meanwhile
Gunray and the Grim Reaper were getting close to the ship that brought him here when they heard some beeping sound.
"Whats that sound?" Gunray asked turning around and the Reaper looked and saw some small explosive device on his head.
"Well, Kruger always does plan ahead." The Reaper said before it beeped rapidly and blew up killing him instantly Before Ventress arrived.
"What did you do?" Ventress asked.
"Kruger did this not me. Anyway lets get out of here." The Reaper said as they got on the ship and left.
Later
"So this Grim Reaper showed up and tried to break Gunray out. Even though you had a contingency plan to prevent him from going back to the Separatists." Mace said.
"I always have a plan. The Grim Reaper is an old enemy of my mother's when she was in charge of the army you now know. And I doubt he's the only one." Sean said.
"You'd be right." Tarkin said showing various battles of special individuals attacking their forces. One in a large metal armed suit blasting everything in his path.
Another who's entire body was Red with large muscles charging through the clones like they were nothing.
And lastly one with four metal arms attacking various troops.
"Iron Monger, Red Hulk and Doctor Octopus." Sean said making Ahsoka snicker.
"Seriously? Who gave them those names?" Ahsoka asked.
"Ha ha ha." Sean said. "Name aside clearly my enemies have joined the Separatists to even the odds. This will make things very difficult." Sean said.
"Indeed. And some I can assume are brilliant strategists." Tarkin said.
"Without question. Alert the troops. Let them know of this development. I will give a list of those I have been enemies with for some time." Sean said ending transmission.
"How is it you didn't know The Grim Reaper was going to be here specifically but knew something was going to happen?" Tarkin asked.
"My visions are never fully accurate and show all details. Sometimes they are less than fully detailed. Unfortunate but they serve their purpose." Sean said.
"I agree. Are there any we should be the most concerned about?" Tarkin asked.
"Some. But never mind that now. We have to make sure the men know what they're walking into now." Sean said.
Authors Note: I told you something interesting would happen this chapter. Now the enemies of Sean's army will show up and support the Separatists to get back at him and his mother. Some of course will really make things difficult for them that will put them at a disadvantage. Now heres a list of Generals from Marvel for both the Republic and the Separatists.
