Chapter 5: First Prank
I go to my dorm and pull one of the advanced healing potions I made last month. I drink it and watch my arm heal before walking back out and going to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom and putting the furniture upside down on the ceiling before going and using my magic to do the same to every classroom in the castle, unused ones included, before doing the same to Dumbledore's office.
After I get done I go to bed. The next morning I am approached by James and Lily as soon as I enter the room. They reach me and Lily immediately says, "Iris, can we talk?"
"Hello Professor Potter, did you sleep well?" I ask politely in response to her rather rude greeting.
She blinks and says, "Yes, I suppose I did. Can we talk?"
I scowl at her before saying, "Hello, Professor Potter, how are you doing today?"
She blinks again before seeming to catch my hint; she takes a breath before saying, "Hello Iris, I'm doing well today, thank you, how are you?"
"I am doing well." I say before looking at James, "Hello, Lord Potter, how are you today?"
"I'm fine?" he says, looking confused.
"James, she's trying to have a polite conversation with us." Lily tells him before looking back at me, "I was rather rude by just rushing up and asking to speak. I'm sorry for that, Iris."
"It is fine, thank you for the apology, was there something you needed, Lady Potter?" I ask.
"Yes, we were hoping to make a new truce to stop the pranks." she says politely.
"I'm sorry, but I don't think a new truce would in any way benefit me; however I will consider creating a new truce if you return to me what you stole last year." I tell them and they tense.
"That thing was overflowing with dark magic, you are not getting it back." James says tensely.
"Vary well then." I say, "Enjoy the pranks."
I then walk over to the Slytherin table and sit down at my usual spot. Viktor Krum sits across from me and I dish myself one of the nearby omelets as well as a bunch of bacon. Before I get the chance to take even my first bite Dumbledore steps up to the announcement podium and says, "Attention everyone." everyone in the great hall turns to look at him, "I am afraid I have some grave news. Last night an Asgardian known as Loki invaded city of New York, in America. He easily subjugated the city due to him taking them by surprise."
He goes on to say that we shouldn't panic because a group known as the Avengers are working valiantly to fight back against Loki's forces even though he has already begun taking over other areas; Dumbledore tells us to go about business as usual so I eat silently before walking outside and running through my daily exercises. After I get done with that I walk to my first class, which is History of Magic, who's teacher is Lily this year after Dumbledore finally fired Binns.
She's standing in the room, looking up at the desks and chairs. I smirk and ask, "Hmm...how are we expected start the class with our seats up there?"
She looks at me as the rest of the class walks in and looks up. Lily sighs and says, "Please return the room to normal, Iris."
"Give me what you stole from me." I say in response before running up the wall a bit and jumping from there to my usual seat, catching onto the back of my chair and flipping myself, using my legs to keep myself in the chair before looking at my classmates with a smirk, "Are you all coming up? We can't start the lesson unless everyone takes their seats."
"We can't get up there!" Ronald protests. "Its not possible."
"I think the fact that I'm up here means that it is possible." I say blankly.
"I meant for normal people, freak." he snaps.
"Mr. Weasley, I will not tolerate that behavior in my classroom, detention with Filtch this Saturday at eight." Lily snaps and I smirk at Ronald before looking expectantly at the class. Hermione walks in and sees what's going on. She just sighs and does what I did to get to her chair, which is on my right.
"Good morning Hermione. What are you up too today?" I ask and she smiles a bit.
"Oh, you know, just hanging around." she says and I chuckle as Neville joins us. "Hello Neville."
"Hello Hermione, Iris, how are you two?" he says from my left.
"I'm doing well." Hermione says with a small smile.
"Same here." I say. Harry then joins us and I smile at him, "Good morning, brother, how are you this fine, sunny morning?"
"Hanging in there." he says with a smile, "Morning, sister. Any plans for the day?"
"I'm planning on getting my yearly checkup from Madam Pomphrey after lunch." I say, "Other then that I'd say I'm doing pretty well."
"Attention everyone." Dumbledore's voice calls from all around, "Since classes cannot start until everyone is in their seats and Miss Potter used a spell that cannot be dispelled for whatever reason classes have been dismissed until we manage to get the furniture off of the ceiling. Now, Miss Potter, please meet me in the great hall to discuss what I can do to get you to put the furniture back to normal, both in the classrooms and my office."
I smirk before lifting my legs and flipping to my feet as I fall to the ground. I then walk to the great hall where Dumbledore is waiting. I smirk and say, "You requested my presence, sir?"
"Ah, yes, I'm confused by how you managed to put the furniture on the ceiling in such a way that it prevents even me from pulling them down." he says, eyes twinkling with curiosity, "Would you be willing to tell me how you did that and what I can give you to convince you to return those rooms to how they were."
"Give me back what you stole from me last year." I say simply. "Only once it is once again in my hands will I put the furniture back."
He tenses before saying, "I will discuss it with your parents."
"Excellent; while you do that I will go for a walk. Now that classes are canceled I want to enjoy my day." I say before walking away. I walk out of the castle before heading outside the wards, casting a spell to ensure I'm not being followed or listened too as I walk down the path where I find Loki and Hella waiting for me. I bow to them and Hella pulls me up before putting an arm around my shoulders as I say, "I heard about your victory in New York. You executed that plan perfectly, Lord Loki."
"The plans you gave Hella were more then a little useful." Loki says with a smirk, "We killed Thanos quite easily thanks to you. At the end of this war you, and any you convince to help you, will be generously rewarded. As it is now, we will both complete our goals within the year...now, what do you have to report, Seer?"
"Classes are officially canceled until I put the furniture in the classes back to normal because I used spells the teachers and Dumbledore cannot dispel to stick it all to the ceiling." I say, "My truce with Dumbledore has ended and I am free to reign chaos on the school, much to their dismay."
"You seem happier then when we first met." he points out.
"I am." I say with a smirk. "My pranking will undoubtedly distract them from any training they might try to put us through while your forces grow closer. Not only that, but I get to watch them squirm around like worms on a lure, unsure when my next prank will begin...or end...or how many will be injured until I get what I want."
"I love how sadistic you are when you speak of your pranks." Hella tells me, "You're perfect."
"Thank you." I mutter as I lean against her. "Over the next week I will start recruiting my twin and the few friends I have to your cause and give them tasks to complete while we await your arrival."
"Excellent." Loki says with a small smirk as I check the time.
"I should get back to the castle, if I'm away for too long they start suspecting me of murder." I tell them with a small sigh, "Before I go though I wanted to inform you that I successfully recruited my aunt and cousin as well as the others on the farm I live on and the neighbors who are a family of Kitsunes who have followed your path for centuries now."
"Wonderful." he says as I kiss Hella on the cheek, briefly bow to Loki, and race back to the castle, deciding to spend my day in the library in the Chamber of Secrets, reading. The day passes peacefully and the next morning I'm approached by James and Lily.
"We'll give you the stupid wand back." James says by way of greeting, "Just put the furniture back so we can actually do our jobs."
"Good morning Professors Potter, did you both sleep well?" I ask politely and Lily sighs.
"Good morning, Iris. We slept well thank you. I apologize for James' attitude and would like to offer you your wand back in exchange for you returning the classrooms back to normal." she says as she pulls on some dragon hide gloves and grabs said wand, offering it to me.
My wand is white with an orange vine pattern, ten inches long, and usually having a dark aura, as if the shadows around the area clings to it. That aura is missing now so I scowl before taking it and feeling the shadows around me shift around and darken. I cast a silent detection spell on my true wand and find that it has more than fifty binds cast on it.
I take a shaky breath before looking at James and Lily and snarling, "Do you truly think I am stupid enough to not know when my wand has been tampered with?" they both tense so I add, "I will be getting this problem fixed at my earliest convenience and you two, as well as Dumbledore, will be receiving the bill for it by the end of the month. You will pay the bill or you will face consequences." I then send out a pulse of magic and say, "The furniture has been returned to its proper place, now, if you will excuse me, I need to eat."
I then walk to my table and sit in my usual spot for breakfast, once again joined by Viktor Krum. A couple minutes into the meal Dumbledore steps up to the podium. He looks around the great hall with a small frown on his face, like he's trying to find the best way to phrase the news he has.
"An update about the invasion of America reached me an hour ago. As it is there are a total of thirty-five states not currently under Loki's influence. He has also taken over Canada and most of South America." he says before sighing heavily, "Things are looking bleak for America. It seems like Loki has contingencies for everything the Avengers try and their strongest, a man named Bruce Banner, who has an alter ego known as the Hulk, has fallen prey to Loki's mind control. In other news Iris Potter has put the furniture back to normal so classes can resume. We are currently working on finding a way to convince her to form a new truce."
"I suppose begging me might work." I call out jokingly, causing everyone to look at me, "I mean, I doubt it would work. I'm having a lot of fun. I love watching you all squirm in fear every time I reach for my wand."
"You're sadistic!" Ronald calls from the Gryffindor table.
"Yeah, so?" I shoot back.
I serve myself some food as he angrily glares at me. A few minutes into my meal someone nervously tugs on the back of my robe. I look back and see a first year girl with bright yellow eyes and brown hair, she looks like a tiny, younger, version of Madam Hooch.
I blink and she nervously says, "I am sorry to disturb your meal, but I was talking to some of the fourth years and they said that you don't prank first or second years unless the prank affects everyone; is there a reason for that?"
"Yeah, I don't want to put first and second years in danger. As far as I'm concerned, they're just kids. I don't hurt kids unless I have too." I tell her, "Besides, it's not like those two years are the only ones unaffected. I don't prank Neville, Luna, or Hermione because they're my friends, Harry because he's my brother unless he deserves it for being a prat, the Weasley Twins because they're the only Weasley's I know that I actually like, McGonagall and Pomphrey are safe because they're on my side, and Snape usually bribes me into leaving him and his classroom alone."
She nods before walking back to the other first and second years to report her findings. I then get up and head out, running through my daily exercises before heading to my first class.
