The muggle drive attack didn't appear in the magical newspapers, deeming it unimportant, although the contract between the Vamps and Minister were splashed all over the front page to the relief of most of wizardkind.
Lily and James Potter didn't think much of it, spending time expressing their relief when they saw the news, but forgetting about it as soon as Charlus the second grabbed his father's shirt, nagging him for a spin on his broom even as Lily glared at him in warning.
"The Potters are good chaps" People would say. "Perfect family too. 3 people, with little Charlus, they all love each other".
Yes, they were the perfect family.
Squibs were mistakes afterall.
Harry ran for hours, stopping in between for short breaks of 10 minutes before continuing. Legs aching, throat parched, he ran.
Your survival is more important.
"Your Majesty", the leader's advisor, Sephtis stepped forward and bowed. "I bring a message from the Dark Lord, Lord Voldemort".
Erkhaan waved his hand, "Continue".
"The Dark Lord, Lord Voldemort has extended an invitation to the Vampires", Sephtis informed. "He is to wage war against wizardkind and would be honored to have the Vampires as his allies".
Erkhaan raised an eyebrow.
"The Black family has allied with him", Septhis mentioned, deciding to lay all the facts on the table.
Erkhaan sat forward, more heavily considering the offer. The Black family had been the secret allies of the Vampires for centuries, ever since the beginning. Everyone knew that the Black family was old, the most prestigious Pureblood House in all of Wizarding Britain. They were a long line of Healers, prodigies in Potions, right up there with the Prince line. As dragon pox decimated wizarding kind, what no one remembered was that Vampires and Werewolves were equally as affected, still being human. When a young Black healer by the name of Marius, a prodigy at potions but a Squib took pity on the people who were looked down upon and shunned like himself, he saved them their kind. Alliances were formed but as the Werewolves slowly forgot, the Vampires were always loyal.
"Have the others accepted?" Erkhaan asked slowly.
"The Aries clan has accepted but Ophiuchus, Hydra, and Leo are hesitating", Sephtis replied.
Wringing his hands together, Erkhaan nodded slowly, "We do not accept, although loyal allies to the Blacks, we will keep peace".
"My Lord", the shaking Peter Pettigrew mumbled. "The Aquila and Ophiuchus clans have declined BUT-" Wormtail was hurried to continue as his Master's eyes flashed. "Both Hydra and Leo have accepted".
Displeased, Voldemort pointed his wand at the vermin, "Crucio". Screams ringing in his ears, the tapped his chin in thought. Although the situation was not ideal, he would still have to move on with plans. It would be good to conduct a meeting soon to discuss alliance but for the meantime... a little torture session sounded good.
"Boss, I sense magic here", Reginald Greyback told his father, nose twitching. With his heightened senses, even for a werewolf, he was the tracker of the pack.
"Oh really?" Fenrir Greyback's eyes flashed. "We always do love a little mudblood, yes?".
"Of course Father", the menacing reply returned, canines growing.
Harry didn't understand how he got into these types of situations but when he saw a large group of men appear somewhere in his line of sight, heading straight towards him, he was petrified. But when what looked like golden eyes flashed, Harry immediately knew he was screwed.
His instinct kicked in, legs moving as he ran. Even being bone-tired didn't stop the adrenaline from coming in and masking the pain.
But it wasn't enough. As stomping feet drew closer and a claw wrapped around his shoulder, Harry blacked out, golden eyes being the last thing he saw before an inexplicable pain filled him.
