Introduction
Percy is taken in by Apollo when he was 6. And Hestia and Styx help too. He does jobs for his Patrons and Parental figures. He goes by Sea Archer or Oathkeeper when he does these jobs. Now it is time he truly enters Greek World.
Chapter .1.
Percy sighs as he sneaks back into Yancy Academy. A place he didn't like much. But his Patrons couldn't care for him full time.
He was different to everyone else. His Mother had died at the beach in Montauk when he was 5 and he was abused by his Step-Father Gabe till he ran away a year later after Gabe was partially violent. Gabe left him with wounds that would become permeant reminders.
Percy remembered running from the apartment in the rain and next time he saw the wounds they were scars. A scar over his left eye and one on the side of his face. And a scar on his arm.
After that he lived on the streets but he kept seeing these monsters that couldn't be real. But when he had been fending off this demon hound a arrow struck the beast and it burst into gold dust. And a man with sunny blonde hair and amused/gentle blue eyes was looking at him with kindness.
And that was when his life changed for the second time. It was when he learned the truth about who he was. He learned the man was the God Apollo. And Apollo told him he was a son of Poseidon. Which he found hard to believe but after Apollo questioned him about a few things it became real.
Percy learned about everything he needed to know. But also learned about why his Birth Father didn't contact him. But Percy questioned why didn't Poseidon help him when his Mother died on the beach in Montauk at the edge of his domain. Apollo didn't have an answer to that.
But Apollo promised him even through the laws forbid the Gods from interacting with their own children. It didn't mean he couldn't talk Percy in part time as his Ward and Champion. Percy was eager for a family of some kind and said yes.
Apollo had give him weapons that he was taught to use. Not just with a sword but twin katanas, daggers, hunting knives and a bow and arrow. The only way Percy was able to use a bow and arrow was with Apollo's blessing and Apollo taking the curse he put on the sons of Poseidon.
As he grow Percy learnt all the myths and he was disgusted with things his Half-Brothers had done.
And it wasn't just Apollo who helped him but Hestia too. Hestia and Styx blessed him and Percy became just as much their Ward, Champion and Son as he was too Apollo.
So he did odd jobs for Apollo. Taking out monsters in areas that could be a problem. Then sneaking back into whatever school he had been boarding in at the time.
He knew the Hunters of Artemis knew about him. But only as his name the Sea Archer. He had never shown his face to them. As he wore a spiecal hood that hid his identity. Thanks to Hecate who blessed him for doing a few favours for her. And Goddess Ichnaea who he also did favours for and got her blessing.
Percy didn't mind doing favours for the Gods. As long as he got favours in return. But he made it a point to never go to Olympus. Because the Sky Lord might just try and kill him.
He was now twelve and he was trying to avoid going to Camp. He didn't know if he would be able to keep himself amused at Camp. And he didn't think he could do the things he did now if he went to Camp. He would have to give up seeing his Papa who was Apollo and his Mum Hestia and Mamma Styx.
But something didn't feel right lately. He had felt the change in the air. And he got a Satyr and Chiron here at his school. They must have finally found him. Percy figured they must have finally smelt his wrong scent. Which he would be stronger now technically being the son of Poseidon, Hestia, and Styx and being blessed by Hecate and Ichnaea.
Grover and Chiron weren't bad. They were actually pretty nice if you could ignore the fact they were watching his every move.
Percy was being nice and sticking up for Grover. He seemed to be a very nervous satyr and seemed to believe he was not good enough. Percy learnt from Apollo some of the story behind that and he could understand Grover somewhat. But couldn't Grover see it wasn't his fault? There was a lot of blame on other people's shoulders. Zeus and Hades being the big two and anyway Thalia had chosen to make a final stand. So it wasn't really Grover's fault.
Percy hoped he would be able to help Grover out after all he was putting his life on the line to protect him even through Percy didn't need it. It was the thought that counts. That's what his Mum (Hestia) said.
But enough of that after he snuck out last night to hunt a group of monsters is Papa (Apollo) had said that needed dealing with. He had taken out the group of monsters that the Hunters had been Hunting. And as you would expect the Hunters hadn't been happy to see him.
Lucky he managed to get out of there and cover his tracks before arriving back at Yancy Academy later.
Now he was on a stupid field trip with his class. And he had a feeling things were going to change. And thanks to Apollo's blessing his six sense got a helping hand and he was always right. So before he left Yancy he made sure his weapons were on him. As he didn't know what he could be facing he needed to be prepared for anything.
But at the moment he was trying not to kill this kleptomaniac, Nancy Bobofit. If he hadn't already checked to see if she was a monster or Demigod daughter of Hermes. Percy would have pegged her as one or the other without a second thought.
But she was just a normal mortal.
She was throwing wads of sandwich that stuck in Grover's hair.
"I am going to kill her", Percy mutters fiddling with one of his secret weapon rings.
"It's okay. I like peanut butter", Grover says.
'Really you like it in your hair?', Percy thinks internally rolling his eyes.
Nancy's throws more lunch, and they dodge.
'Papa can I kill her?' Percy thinks to his Guardian.
'I am seriously considering it', he hears Apollo's reply, 'Have fun today!'
He hears a chuckle in his head.
"That's it!" Percy says starting to get up but Grover pulls him back down.
"You're already on probation", Grover says to Percy, "You know who'll get blamed if anything happens"
Sadly it was true. But Percy really didn't think it mattered at this stage as he was sure he would be changing schools again anyway.
Percy goes around the museum with his class his eyes looking around alert for any danger that might happen.
The only one that he was suspicious about was Mrs Dodds. His Maths Teacher who could be part of a motorbike gang if she wanted too.
Percy knew most of these stories. Some might think Apollo wouldn't be a good Father. But to Percy he was the best person to be his Father. And anyway with Hestia and Styx keeping an eye on him. Apollo couldn't teach Percy much of the disgraceful ways that Artemis might think he would.
It was thanks to Apollo he knew most of these stories.
Percy was getting more annoyed with Nancy as she kept going on and on behind him.
"Will you shut up", Percy snaps.
Everybody laughs.
"Mr Jackson. Did you have a comment?" he hears Chiron ask him.
"No sir", Percy replies.
Chiron points at the pictures on the stele.
"Perhaps you'll tell us what this picture represents?" Chiron asks.
Percy grimaces recognising this one immediately.
"That's the Titan Kronos eating his kids", Percy replies confidently.
"Yes. And he did this because?" Chiron asks.
'Because he was a psychopath?' Percy thinks.
"Because Kronos was the Titan King and he didn't trust his kids, who were Gods not to overthrown him. So Kronos ate them. He had six children. He ate them just after birth in order that would be Hestia, Demeter, Hera, Hades, and Poseidon. But instead of eating Zeus his wife gave him a rock to eat instead. Zeus was raised to overthrown his Father. Zeus tricked Kronos into barfing up his brothers and sister who came out in reverse order. That started the eleven-year-long Titanomachy. When the Gods won they chopped Kronos up into a million pieces and casted him into Tartarus", Percy explains.
He saw Chiron and Grover looking at him funny. And Percy realised he just shown more knowledge than they believe he knew.
Many of the class look disgusted by this.
Percy heard Nancy Bobofit mumble behind him to her friend.
"Like we're going to use this in real life. Like it's going to say on our job application, 'Please explain why Kronos ate his kids'"
"And why Mr Jackson to paraphrase Miss Bobofit's excellent question, does this matter in real life?" Chiron asks him.
"Busted", Grover mutters to Nancy.
"Shut up", Nancy hisses at him.
Percy couldn't say the true answer to this.
"I don't know sir", he lies.
"I see", Chiron says looking disappointed, "Well, still excellent answer, but half-credit, Mr Jackson. Zeus did indeed feed Kronos a mixture of mustard and wine, which made him disgorge his other five children, who, of course, being immortal Gods, had been living and growing up completely undigested in the Titan's stomach. The Gods defeated their Father, sliced him to pieces with his own scythe, and did indeed scattered his remains in Tartarus, the darkest part of the Underworld. On that happy note, it's time for lunch. Mrs Dodds, would you lead us back outside?"
Percy goes to follow the others outside but Chiron holds him back.
"Sir?" Percy asks.
"You must learn the answer to my question", Chiron tells him.
"About the Titans?" Percy asks.
"About real life. And how your studies apply to it", Chiron says to him.
"Oh", Percy says.
"What you learn from me is vitally important. I expect you to treat it as such. I will accept only the best from you, Percy Jackson", Chiron tells him.
Percy nods. He already knew all the answers. But Chiron and Grover didn't need to know that.
At lunch the feeling something was going to happen was getting stronger to Percy. He suspected whatever was going to happen was going to happen soon.
Percy ate his lunch with Grover when Nancy dumped her half-eaten lunch in Grover's lap.
"Oops", she says grinning.
Percy felt the water rush through him and the fountain behind him pushes Nancy into the fountain. Percy could have controlled it better. But the feeling something was going to happen had him on edge and plus he didn't have enough sleep last night thanks to his guardians little mission.
"Percy pushed me!" Nancy yells.
Mrs Dodds materialized next to Percy and Grover.
Percy had to be proud of Grover trying to take the blame but this was his situation to deal with. As Percy was seeing things more clearly.
"Come with me now!" Mrs Dodds barks.
Percy follows Mrs Dodds his finger inching to draw his blade. Percy noticed Mrs Dodds wasn't really paying attention too her act any longer.
So which monster would she end up being? There was still a few on his guardian's list he hadn't encountered yet.
"You've been giving us problems, honey", she says.
Percy raised an eyebrow, "How could I have been giving you problems?"
"Did you really think you would get away with it?"
Percy saw a really evil look on her. Oh boy this was going to be one of those monsters.
"We are not fools, Percy Jackson", Mrs Dodds says, "It was only a matter of time before we found you out. Confess, and you will suffer less pain"
Percy doesn't answer.
"Well?"
"I have absolutely no clue what your talking about", Percy says truthfully for once.
"Your time is up", she hisses.
Then her eyes begin to glow like barbecue coals. Her fingers stretched into talons. Her jacket melted into large leathery wings. She was a shrivelled hag with bat wings and claws and a mouth full of yellow fangs.
"Oh shit a fury", Percy curses his luck.
As the fury launches herself at him Percy twists his ring on his finger and it transforms into a sword. As the fury comes racing towards he feints right and as she goes to follow he swings his sword and it goes right through her. And she bursts into gold dust.
Percy looks at the spot where the fury was.
"I guess that is another of that damn list", Percy mutters.
"Percy?" a voice hesitantly calls out.
Percy looks to see Chiron and Grover looking at him with wide eyes.
"I am going to murder my guardian"
