This is the biggest mass update I have done
Chapter .6.
Rose, Jack, Jenny and Sarah Jane look around at the technology. Trying to piece together what species of alien it was from.
Rose had not seen anything like it in her life. And since she was hundreds of years old that WAS new. And that was saying something.
"Is anything here familiar to either of you?" Donna asks curiously to Martha and Mickey.
"No. What about you Sarah Jane?" Mickey asks.
"No I just can't place it", Sarah Jane replies.
"What has this got to do with Utah? Got any ideas Jenny?" Martha whispers.
"I have no idea", Jenny replies.
"This tech looks like it is a combination of many different species", Rose states.
"How is that possible?" Donna asks.
"Oh anything is possible these days", Rose mutters thinking about everything she had experienced in her very long life.
She looks over the tech near River and Amy hearing their conversation.
"River…", she hears Amy start.
"I know what you're thinking", River tells her scanning the wires.
"No, you don't", Amy replies.
"You're thinking, if we can find the spaceman in 1969 and neutralise it, then it won't be around in 2011 to kill the Doctor", River replies.
"Okay, lucky guess", Amy says.
"Its only because I was thinking it, too", River replies.
"No! River, Amy what your suggesting is forbidden and would have dire consequences", Rose says butting in.
She had experienced a paradox and didn't really want to again.
"How can you say that?" Amy asks glaring at Rose.
"Because I have seen what happens when people try to change fix events and it ALWAYS ends in disaster. And the world nearly ending", Rose replies.
"Rosie's right Amy we can't change what happened", Donna says with some regret.
She like Rose could see timelines and there was something going on here more then the Doctor's death.
Amy goes to argue but Jack distracts her.
'I can't trust Rose. I must keep an eye on her and save the Doctor if no one else will', Amy thinks.
"We are here to save a little girl. Lets just remember that's our goal right now", Sarah Jane states.
River gives Amy a look too not persuade the matter.
"Lets do it", Amy whispers too River as she turns her attention to a person she could trust.
Well mostly trust.
"It doesn't work like that", River says too her, "We came here because of what we saw in the future. If we try and prevent the future from happening, we create a world ending paradox like Commander Tyler said"
"Time can be rewritten", Amy replies.
"If you change one thing it starts a chain reaction. We can't risk it", Mickey tells Amy.
"Time STILL can be rewritten", Amy replies stubbornly.
"Not all of it", Jack says butting in giving Rose a quick glance.
Seeming to know what Rose was thinking.
"Says who?" Amy asks.
"Who do you think?" Donna retorts giving the Doctor a quick look.
Rose sees cables on the floor leading too something.
She whistled and Mickey shines his torch on it.
"Now that is interesting", Rose murmurs.
River shines her torch on it too.
"What's this?" River asks.
"We can still save him…", Amy starts not giving up trying to convince someone to save the Doctor.
Why was that so hard anyway? They were ALL supposed to be his friends.
"Doctor, look at this", River calls him as Rose was already kneeling on the ground.
Studying the markings and scanning them. What was this? Why on her Vortex Manipulator and scanning was it giving up strange readings.
The Doctor hurries over to River's side.
"What do we have here Rose? River?" the Doctor asks.
"River, Jack give me a hand", Rose calls to them.
Jack kneels on the floor with River and opens a hatch with a little effort.
"So where does that go?" the Doctor asks rhetorically.
"If we knew that where would the fun would be?" Rose asks the Doctor with a smirk.
Donna, Jenny, Mickey, Martha and Sarah Jane rolls their eyes at the pair of them. And Jack was smirking at them knowingly.
"There's a network of tunnels running under here", River says interrupting the Doctor's and Rose's moment.
"Scans pick up a lot of them and also unusual patterns", Rose adds from looking at her own scanner, "These tunnels at first scan seem extensive"
"Life signs?" the Doctor asks them.
"No. Nothing that's showing up", River replies.
"Those are the worst kind", the Doctor says.
"Here is what we are going too do. River will go into the tunnels. We will get her ten minutes before Jenny, Donna and myself follow. The Doctor, Amy, Jack, Rory, Sarah Jane, Mickey, Martha and Canton continue up here looking for the girl", Rose orders making the Doctor pout at her giving orders.
Rose just rolls her eyes at him.
"Rose it could be dangerous", the Doctor protests.
"Don't you think River, Donna, Jenny and I can handle this?" Rose asks him rising her eyebrow and saying it with a bit of heat.
"Well…", the Doctor starts.
"You better not finish that sentence spaceman", Donna warns him, "Otherwise another slap will be coming your way from the three of us"
Jack and Mickey were watching in amusement.
"Be careful then!" the Doctor says giving in.
He needed to be careful he didn't know what was worse River's slap, a Noble slap or the famous Tyler slap.
"Careful? Tried that once. Ever so dull", River says lowering herself into the tunnels.
"Shout if ANY of you get in trouble", the Doctor orders.
"Worry wart", Rose mutters.
"Don't worry, I'm quite the screamer", River replies.
The Doctor blushes. And Jack and Mickey snicker with Martha and Sarah Jane supressing a smile.
"Now, there's a spoiler for you", River calls as she gets too the bottom next too Rose.
She lets River go down and the Doctor leave. She was left with Donna and Jenny…
Jack and Mickey were snickering at the Doctors face too River's words. Oh how he was still so innocent.
"So what's going on here?" Canton asks the Doctor.
Jack snickers again at the Doctor's face.
"Uh, nothing. She's just a friend", the Doctor replies looking embarrassed.
"I think he's talking about the possible alien incursion", Rory says to the embarrassed Doctor.
Jack and Mickey laugh at the Doctors blunder. Oh how they were enjoying this.
Maybe they could use some of this as blackmail.
"Okay", the Doctor says blushing patting Canton and moving on.
"You two need to get a room Doc", Jack says too the Doctor as they walk.
"Get a room? With who?" the Doctor asks confused.
"You and River have a thing don't you?" Jack asks.
"It sure looks like it. We can nearly see the hormones pouring out of the both of you", Mickey says making the Doctor blush again.
"No we don't", the Doctor replies.
"Well hate to say this Doc but there is an awful lot off sexual tension between you and River", Jack replies smirking at the blush on the Doctor.
This Doctor was more fun than is previous selves. As he appeared to be more awkward around woman.
"We are just friends", the Doctor replies.
"Sure", Jack replies.
"How many times have you come running to her?" Mickey asks rhetorically looking amused.
"Shut up Tin Dog", the Doctor replies annoyed.
Mickey and Jack snicker at the Doctors back as he grumbles.
Oh why did they have to be here? It would be perfect with just Rose, Jenny and Donna. But why the others? What was going on?
How was Jenny alive? How was Donna not burning up? And the biggest question of them all…how on earth was Rose back in the Prime Universe?
"So I was in a bar, having a drink. Tell me honestly, am I still there?" Canton asks the others.
"Afraid not", Amy replies.
"But you will get used to this", Martha says with sympathy.
"Just one step at a time", Sarah Jane adds.
"Who do you think that little girl is?" Jenny asks.
"I don't know but something doesn't feel right", Rose replies.
"Can you see anything through the timelines Aunt Rose, Aunt Donna?" Jenny asks.
Before the two could reply noise comes from the tunnels.
Rose, Jenny and Donna where shocked to hear River hurriedly climbing the ladder out of breath.
Rose, Jenny and Donna were concerned to see River's panicked face change to calm.
"All clear", River replies.
The three girls look at each other. Something wasn't right here. Why did River's expression suddenly change?
"Just tunnels. Nothing down there I can see. Uh, give me five minutes. I want to take another look around", River tells them.
"Donna, Jenny and I are coming with you this time", Rose decides.
"Stupidly dangerous!" the Doctor exclaims.
"Yep! I like it, too", River replies.
"And there is nothing Doctor Song, Jenny, Donna and I can't handle", Rose adds.
The women give the Doctor such a look that he knew he couldn't fight them on this.
"Amy, look after him", River says lowering herself back into the tunnels.
"Jack, Mickey watch ALL off them. Don't let ANY of them do something stupid", Rose adds before following River.
With Jenny and Donna not far behind.
"Got it Rosie", Jack calls.
"Rory, would you mind going with them?" the Doctor asks ignoring Jack's warning look.
"Yeah, a bit", Rory replies.
"Then I appreciate it more", the Doctor replies clapping him on the back.
"Hang on River, Donna, Jenny…Rose I'm coming, too", Rory calls going to follow the three dangerous women. Plus Donna.
Rory climbs down and sees River, Donna, Jenny and Rose waiting for him. Rose shining her light down the tunnels with a gun out. Jenny was the same.
The tunnels were dark, gloomy and wet. They looked old. As Rose, Jenny and River shone their torches over the walls.
"You ok? When you came up you sounded off" Rory asks River.
"Yes, yes. I just felt a bit sick", River replies, "It's the prison food. Probably"
Rose rises an eyebrow with Donna and Jenny. Why was River in prison?
"Okay, this way", River says with her scanner out, "What do you think?"
"Alright. You guys in front. Jenny and I will cover you", Rose orders.
They start down the wet tunnels. Rose being really cautious. As she felt like someone was watching them.
"How long have you been travelling with the Doctor?" Rose asks Rory.
"A couple of years. But Amy met him first when she was a child", Rory replies.
"Really?" Rose asks curiously.
She watched her step on some of the slippery parts of the tunnels.
"Yes he promised to be only gone 5 minutes and it was 12 years, then he was gone 2 years", Rory replies with a small smile.
Rose laughs, "He did that to me. He said we were gone 12 hours and it was 12 months. I guess he gets worse with each regeneration"
"Regeneration?" Rory asks.
Rose now knew how little they knew about the Doctor. She felt so sorry for Amy and Rory. She knew bits of their history thanks to the Vortex. But the Vortex didn't show all.
She looked at Jenny and Donna and they made a pact to protect the Ponds/Williams as much as they could.
Rory was wondering who exactly was Rose Tyler. From how the Doctor was acting he could guess that Rose meant something very dear to his heart. Rory wondered if he saw love in the Doctor's eyes.
But who were Donna and Jenny? And why back in Utah did the Doctor looked so shocked to see them and Rose. What was the story there?
"Who exactly are you Rose?" Rory asks.
"I am Commander Rose Tyler of Touchwood and the Defender of the Earth. And that is all you need too know Rory", Rose replies.
"Who do you think this girl is?" River asks.
"She is bait isn't she?" Donna asks.
"Yes I believe she is bait for the Doctor and we have walked right into it", Rose replies grimly.
River nods she had been thinking that too. But who exactly where they dealing with?
The Doctor had many enemies. But which one was responsible?
"I keep thinking I hear things", Rory says too them.
"My too. But I see nothing", Jenny states.
"It's interesting. These tunnels are old. Really old", River says looking at her scanner.
"I agree these have to be hundreds and hundreds of years old", Rose replies running her torch over the slimy walls.
She kept her gun at the ready.
"How can they be really old and nobody notice them?" River continues.
Rose and River's lights go over the walls and they see a round door. River goes over too it while Rose and Jenny have their guns at the ready.
"It's a maintenance hatch", Rory states.
"It's locked", River replies.
"Why would a maintenance hatch be locked?" Rose mutters too herself.
"Oh, why do people always lock things?" River asks rhetorically.
"What's through there?" Rory asks.
"I've no idea", River replies.
"Something bad?" Rory asks.
"Almost definitely. By what we have already seen", Rose replies.
"And why lock a maintenance hatch?" Donna asks shivering.
She felt too like they were being watched.
River says the same thing.
"You're going to open it, aren't you?" Rory asks wearily.
"Well, its locked. How's a girl supposed to resist?" River asks grinning.
"Is this sensible?" Rory asks.
"God, I hope not", River replies working on the door.
"Yeah, you and the Doctor, I can kind of picture it", Rory says too River not noticing Rose's expression.
Donna and Jenny put a comforting hand on Rose's shoulder.
"Keep a look out", River says instead off commenting on his words.
"Already doing that", Rose replies stiffly.
"What did you mean?" Rory asks River, "What you said to Amy, there is a worse day coming for you"
Rose, Donna and Jenny were curious now. This is a conversation they must off happened on the TARDIS. While she and the past companions where with the Doctor.
"When I first met the Doctor a long, long time ago, he knew all about me. Think about that", River replies softly, "Impressionable young girl and suddenly, this man just drops out of the sky. And he's clever and mad and wonderful and knows every last thing about her. Imagine what that does to a girl"
Rose couldn't help by sympathise with River. She knew what she was feeling. As it was similar to her selves' emotions. If she knew what she would become would she have still gone with the Doctor?
Donna also could picture it. As that had happened to her so long ago. Mad and clever man had swept her up into adventure. How could she have resisted. If she knew what would happen to her then would she still have gone with him? Actually the answer was simple she would.
"I don't really have to", Rory replies.
"Trouble is it's all back-to-front. My past is his future. We're travelling in opposite directions. Every time we meet, I know him more, he knows me less. I live for the days when I see him, but I know that every time I do, he'll be one step further away. And the day is coming when I'll look into that mans eyes, my Doctor, and he won't have the faintest idea who I am", River says sadly.
Rose gives her a sad look. She felt sorry for River. Did River love the Doctor that way? The way she did?
That's when the door unlocks. Rose tenses finger on the trigger ready.
"And I think it's going to kill me", River finishes her words.
"Everyone be ready", Rose orders.
Jenny raises her gun to guard Donna.
River goes too open it and Rose was ready if anything was on the other side. Putting the mystery of River Song out of her mind. For now.
They walk in cautiously. Rose bringing up the rear.
"What is this place?" Rory asks.
Suddenly a loud noise happens, and Rose recognises it as an alarm.
"That's an alarm. Check if anything's coming", River orders.
Rose was going to do that, but Rory did.
She heard his breathing quickens. But before she could go and see what is wrong, he was back.
"There is nothing out there", Rory replies having the look River had on her face earlier on his.
Rose, Donna and Jenny knew something was going on. Both River and Rory had acted strange.
Rose turns her attention too River who just got into the alien's system.
"Got anything?" Donna and Rose ask River.
"These tunnels, they're not just here, they're everywhere. They're running under the surface of the entire planet", River informs them, "They've been here for centuries".
Centuries that meant…
Suddenly out off the corner off Rose's eye she sees flashes of light. But like lightning.
"RORY! RIVER! JENNY! DONNA! Get out of here", Rose yells seeing the aliens, "RUN! RUN!"
As they run she and Jenny fire their weapons…
The Doctor, Amy, Sarah-Jane, Canton and Jack were still looking over the warehouse. Mickey and Martha had stayed near the equipment to see if they could pick out anything.
"So, you were kicked out of the FBI because you had attitude problems?" Amy asks Canton.
"No, I just wanted to get married", Canton replies.
"Is that a crime?" Amy asks.
"Yes", Canton replies, "Doctor who, exactly?" Canton asks changing the subject.
Jack and Sarah-Jane give Canton a knowing sympatric look.
"Ah…", Amy starts.
Jack decides to give Canton a hand in changing the subject.
"Trust me you won't believe most off what we have to say about the Doctor", Jack answers grinning.
"Its classified", Amy says ignoring Jack.
Sarah-Jane starts to wonder what is Amy's problem with them. Was it just because of her meeting past companions. Like what happened between her and Rose. Or was it something else?
"Classified by whom?" Canton asks.
"God knows", Amy replies.
"Do you work for him?" Canton asks.
"He's my friend, if friend is the right word", Amy replies, "I haven't seen him in a while. I had something I wanted to tell him, but stuff always gets in the way"
"Stuff does that", Canton replies.
"Help me!" a girls voice calls.
Canton and Jack draw their guns.
"Help! Help me!" the girl says.
"That's her", Canton states starting to move fast.
"Stop Canton!" Jack says.
But couldn't go after him as he sees Amy double over groaning.
"Amy!?" the Doctor, Jack, Sarah-Jane call worriedly.
"Help me, please!" the girl calls.
"What's wrong?" the Doctor asks catching Amy's arm.
And Sarah-Jane catches the other side for support to make sure she doesn't fall. Jack guards them looking around but kept Amy in the corner of his eye.
"I need to tell you something. It's important", Amy says too the Doctor, "Doctor! It's really, really important"
They hear Canton yelling.
Jack starts to race after Canton with the Doctor, Sarah-Jane and Amy not far behind.
"Canton? Canton? Are you ok?" the Doctor asks finding Canton on the ground as they catch up.
"Is he all right?" Amy asks.
Jack looks around for Canton's assailant.
"He's alive", Sarah-Jane states having felt a pulse.
"Just unconscious. Got a proper whack", the Doctor replies.
"Doctor. I need to tell you something", Amy says urgently, "I have to tell you it now"
"Not a great moment", the Doctor retorts.
"No, it's important. It has to be now", Amy insists.
"Help! Help me!" the girl calls again, "Help me!"
"Doctor, I'm pregnant", Amy says.
Sarah-Jane's eyes widen. The Doctor gives her a shocked look. Jack wanted to shake the Doctor out of his shock and tell Amy she should have waited for a better moment. Because now wasn't the time.
But then they all hear footsteps.
And see a spacesuit walking towards them. The same one Jack, Sarah-Jane and Amy saw kill the Doctor. Jack raises his gun but doesn't shoot.
"That's it, the astronaut", Amy says.
The Doctor was standing up as the spaceman points an arm towards the Doctor. Amy quickly grabs Canton's gun.
"Help me!" a little girl says from the suit.
"Get down!" Amy yells in panic.
"What are you doing?" the Doctor asks panicked.
"Saying your life", Amy replies.
"NO!" the Doctor replies.
"AMY NO!" Jack yells at the same time…
As Amy fires Canton's gun…
