RING
ft. Arthur Weasley
(& Molly Weasley)

Arthur snuck out to his shed early that Halloween morning — it was far from suspicious, given how often he snuck to fiddle with his muggle toys. Tools and experiments, that is, not toys. Mollywobbles wouldn't be nearly as supportive if she knew he thought of them as toys, not that she was particularly supportive in the first place.

Today wasn't one of the days he spent the whole morning fiddling with his muggle objects before heading to work though. No, today was a very special day — ignoring, of course, the fact that it was Halloween. It being Halloween had really nothing to do about anything, except Molly had always talked about how much she loved the holiday. She'd always talk about the holiday's general joy and childhood memories, not to mention she loved the excuse to make all sorts of pumpkin and apple desserts.

And Arthur was going to make sure this particular Halloween was as memorable as it could be.

He shuffled around his work desk, pulling out a long tube — it used to have chips in it, but Arthur ate them all — popped off the lid, and very gently poured out the stuffed newspapers and shavings inside, finally picking up the little felt box he'd spent so long saving for.

He popped the lid just to check, and smiled helplessly down at the glittering ring inside. It wasn't a diamond, he couldn't afford a diamond… but it looked like it, and he knew Molly wouldn't care about the actual rock.

He snapped the lid shut with a click, and wiped his palms on the sides of his pants, taking a step towards the door of his shed before stopping again. He took a moment to quietly rehearse the words, wiped his palms again, repeated the actions a few more times, and finally pushed the door open— right into his beautiful partner.

"Molly!" Arthur squeaked. He was holding the ring box in his left hand and staring down at the woman he'd just shoved into the ground. He panicked.

"Please marry me!"
