OVERHEAD
ft. Xenophilius Lovegood
—
Ask anyone and they would tell you that Samhain is the perfect time to rearrange your entire home decoration scheme.
(Xenophilius had not, in fact, ever spoken to anyone but his wife and daughter about the best time to redecorate a house.)
Unfortunately for Xeno, this was the first time that he'd ever spent a Samhain without family — even after Pandora died, there had always been Luna to help him out. Redecorating an entire house was not an easy feat on its own. Xeno would know.
But he was determined. He'd already cleaned most of the house out, anyways, leaving their living room entirely bare but for the spiraling staircase. It left Xeno with a lot of opportunities for decorating… But what would Luna like most?
She'd been most excited about going on creature expeditions, though… and Xeno did have a spare crumple-horned snorkack skeleton in storage.
(Xenophilius did not realize that it was very strange to have a giant skeleton — of a creature that didn't even exist, no less — in storage.)
That meant the only question left was where to put the giant skeleton.
It could hardly be on the ground — it would disrupt experiments, after all — which really only left one place.
Hanging overhead.
(Xenophilius would not realize the potential flaws of suspending a giant skeleton above an experiment room until it fell on him quite literally.)
Once he'd hung it precariously with reinforced ropes enchanted against fraying, Xeno took a step back towards the edge of the room and looked up.
Luna would love it.
