This is the biggest mass update I have done
Chapter .3.
Her eyes widen at the name she sees.
Phoebe Artemis…
She couldn't believe the name on those feathers. It was her name. Was she really one of his soulmates? Did he care for her?
She had been through so much today and had so much thrown at her she didn't know if she could process all of this.
"I'm one of your soulmates?" Artemis shocked.
"Yes. I only know when I am close to them. And since I rescued you your name revealed itself to me", Percy replies.
He knew this would be a lot for her to deal with. But it was best not to start anything on a lie.
"Would you have rescued me anyway if I wasn't your soulmate?" Artemis asks tentatively.
"Yes", Percy says immediately. "Your one of the Goddesses that stood up for me. And your one of the only Goddesses besides my Mothers and Mates that I respect"
"I don't know how to deal with all this at the moment", Artemis admits.
"Take your time Arty. You have been through a lot today. And the day isn't over yet. Do you want to go back to your Hunters and see for yourself they are ok?" Percy asks kindly.
"I think that is best", Artemis agrees.
"Then can you call me Omega for now till we reveal my identity? And keep my injuries a secret?" Percy asks her.
He wasn't ready to for anyone to know the whole truth about him. He knew Artemis would bring him before the council either tonight or tomorrow. He hoped for tomorrow as Artemis needed to rest after her ideal and he and his Hunters would need time to prepare to reveal themselves.
"I will. You have no reason not to trust me with your secret I owe you", Artemis replies.
"There is no owing between friends and soulmates", Percy reveals.
"We will see", Artemis says agreeing and not agreeing at the same time.
"Now I will saw you too your Hunters and mine", Percy replies heaving himself to his feet and putting his camouflage back on his arm and leg.
Once he was back up and his hood back over his head. He offers his hand to Artemis who takes it a little bit hesitantly.
"Don't worry I won't let anything happen to you", Percy tells her.
"Thank you from saving me from a fate worse than death", Artemis says as they start to walk.
"I am glad I could get to you in time", Percy replies.
"How did you know to find me?" Artemis asks.
"My Mum Hestia and Dad Apollo. And it helped we were close in the area", Percy replies.
Artemis was surprised that Apollo had also been the one to call Percy for aid. Percy saw her look and decided to get her to see Apollo loved his sister.
"Artemis your brother loves you. And I believe he even loves you more then ALL the women he could want in the world. There is nothing he wouldn't do for you", Percy tells her honestly.
'I don't think I love Arty more then all the women I could want', his Dad says in his head.
'We both KNOW you do. After all you send me to save her and the Hunt every other Tuesday', Percy thinks.
'That is just for fun', he replies.
'Sure', Percy says sarcastically.
"I don't know what to believe about my brother. But he has surprised me as taking you for a son", Artemis replies deciding to be honest.
"I will be forever grateful for the parents I have now. Yes I will miss my birth Mum but I have come to terms with her wanting Estelle and Me to be happy. Whether our lives be long or short", Percy tells her, "Everything I have been dealt was for a reason and it has just made me stronger and more stubborn. And I believe there is still most lessons that I need to learn be all I can be"
Artemis was surprised by how much Percy had grown up. Many Demigods would not be so wise or take what they had been through and put it into a positive.
"You have changed Perseus", Artemis states.
Percy smiles at her, "For good or for ill?"
"For good", Artemis replies instantly.
Not even having to think on it.
"What will you do with me and my Hunters when we reach your Hunters?" Percy asks her.
"I believe today and tonight is not the night to reveal yourselves to the Council. So we will do it in the morning", Artemis replies, "As long as you don't plan to leave before I bring you forward"
"I have no intention of leaving again. My Mother Chaos said this meeting must happen and as a good son I will follow her orders", Percy replies.
"And what if Father wants you executed for having so much power?" Artemis asks him.
She wouldn't let that happen. But she needed to know what Percy would do.
"I will stick up for myself and anyway I have great and powerful allies", Percy replies with a knowing smirk.
Artemis nods. Percy had told her his parents and blessings. So he had been upfront with her. But was he truly upfront with her?
And did his wings really mean she was one of his soulmates?
Her heart had already answered that question through.
"We are approaching our Hunters", Percy tells her.
"Then lets do this", Artemis says with a nod.
"Deep breaths Arty and everything will be fine. My Hunters will follow my lead and yours yours. We have nothing to worry about. At least not this coming night", Percy assures her.
Artemis hoped he was right.
When they entered the clearing they could see a standoff between the two Hunters groups. Thalia was arguing with a man and female that were cloaked.
"We need to find Milady she was taken and I don't trust her to males", they hear Thalia argue.
"I can assure you Omega has saved your Milady and is currently on his way back with her", the lead hooded female replies.
"How can we trust a male?" Atalanta asks, "When he had numerous times breached out defences?"
"Because we have saved your asses too many times to count", the hooded male says sarcastically.
Percy could tell it was Luke and Zoe that were trying to reason with the Hunters of Artemis.
"I only beached the defences to deliver Maidens to their new home", Percy says his voice layered so the Hunters of Artemis couldn't recognise him.
He really didn't need it as they wouldn't know him. Well Thalia would.
The Hunters jump and spin around drawing their bows on the figure of Omega. Who had his wings stretched but standing side by side with their Mistress Artemis.
"Stand down girls", Artemis orders.
"But Milady this is the male that had eluded us and the person our Father wants caught!" Thalia exclaims. "Peace Thalia. This male has been vetted and will face Father in the morning with HIS Hunters", Artemis explains.
"But…", Thalia starts.
"Enough Thalia. Is everyone alright?" Artemis asks for an update on her Hunt.
Most of her Hunt looked to be in good condition. It looked like Percy had indeed been telling the truth.
"We are fine. The female Guardian Hunters. Well the lead one convinced us that if they didn't help heal those injured they would die", Thalia says looking grumpy.
"Actually I said it was either our females heal them or we would call Apollo to heal them before they died", the lead female in the hood states.
Thalia looks disgruntled at her.
"You have my thanks", Artemis says to the female.
The female inclines her head.
"Now we better set up Camp. Omega will you help us set a perimeter and keep it this night?" Artemis asks Percy.
"Of course. I just need a debrief with my Lieutenants. But I will get someone on the border straight away", Percy promises, "Just look after your Hunters and we will deal with the security for tonight so your Hunters can rest easy"
"Yeah right you filthy male will take advantage of us sleeping", Phoebe growls.
Percy sighs, "I swear on the River Styx my Hunters and Myself will not take advantage of ANY of you. And we will protect you to the best of our ability this night"
Thunder booms signalling his oath taking effect.
The Hunters of Artemis still didn't look happy about this.
"Thank you Omega", Artemis says gratefully.
"Anything for those who earn my respect and gratitude", Percy replies bowing his body.
'And one of my soulmates', he added in his thoughts.
Artemis's Hunters were confused by this. But Percy's Hunters were not. Well they were a bit confused.
"What has she supposedly done for you male?" Thalia asks.
"You will see Daughter of the Sky", Percy says to his Cousin.
He couldn't wait to see her face when his Hunters and himself was revealed. There was going to be fireworks. And he bet Thalia would likely try to kill Luke, Ethan, Silena AND himself.
Percy goes over to his Hunters to start building their Camp. Luckily Luke, Zoe, Clarisse and Reyna had already foreseen this and had started putting up tents and building a fire.
Percy saw his and his soulmates tent had been set up already.
'Luke, Zoe, Reyna please step into my tent so we can debrief. Clarisse stay out here with our other soulmates and Lieutenants to get a Camp and perimeter set', Percy thinks to them.
The three nod and they make their way into Percy's tent where they could talk in privacy.
"Any other problems I should know about?" Percy asks them taking a set with Aniu his Female Alpha wolf rubbing up against him.
They all take off their hoods to talk. Zoe had cuddled into Percy's right side and Reyna his left.
"Not really. Just the Hunters trying to castrate our men", Luke mutters.
"You can't blame the Hunters as they have had bad experiences with men and it is just the way they think. Isn't that right Zo?" Percy asks his wife.
"That is correct. But in time them might learn that some males can be trusted. Like you Perce and our male Hunters", Zoe replies.
"I wouldn't hold my breath", Luke mutters.
Percy, Zoe, Reyna all roll their eyes at Luke's muttering.
"Your only saying that because Thalia tried to kill you", Reyna replies with a smirk remembering that the Lieutenant of Artemis and one of the Lieutenants of the Guardian Hunters had gotten into a fight.
She wasn't sure who had won if Zoe hadn't stopped the pair of them and made a minion of 10 feet between them till Percy and Artemis came along.
"Really?" Percy asks his Lieutenant.
"It is true", Luke grumbles.
"Just wait till she finds our WE are alive. What she did to you then will look mild to what she probably will plan to do to us when she finds out about our survival", Percy points out.
Luke winces he had a point about what Thalia might actually do to the pair of them.
"Anything else I should know about?" Percy asks them.
"The monsters seemed to be getting more organised", Reyna states.
"And some ancient monsters seem to be appearing more", Zoe adds.
"I guess the next prophecy is coming to a head with another war", Percy says with a sigh.
He hated prophecies. They ALWAYS seemed to involve him in some way.
"Your right. But you have us our love", Reyna replies snuggling into his side.
"And everyone of us will stand with you", Zoe replies snuggling into his other side.
"And so will ALL YOUR Hunters", Luke replies.
"I know. But things will get worse before they get better. That is the way everything works", Percy replies.
"But at least it will get better", Reyna states.
"We can only hope", Percy replies.
"Cheerful", Zoe mutters.
Percy shrugs, "It is just the way I am"
"Anything else Percy before I go and see if Clarisse has killed anyone yet?" Luke asks.
"Have you heard with Ethan, Silena, Bianca, Gwen, Leila, Calypso and the other groups yet?" Percy asks.
"They haven't had a fight like us. But I am sure we will hear if they do", Luke replies.
"Have Bee, Ethan and Silena at least here by morning. As we will be going before the Olympian Council", Percy orders.
"I will see that it is done", Luke replies.
"This will be fun", Reyna says sarcastically.
Percy chuckles, "I have no doubt. But we DO have allies and we will make it out of that meeting alive"
"I can only pray", Luke mutters.
"Go on Luke", Percy says shooing his Lieutenant away.
"Yes Sir", Luke says going to see if Clarisse had killed anyone yet.
"So what happened with Artemis?" Zoe asks her husband.
Percy sighs, "I will show you"
He shows her and Reyna what Gration and Thorn were going to do before he killed them. He could feel the fury from the two women.
"If you hadn't killed him I would have made his death more painful", Zoe growls.
"Oh I have no doubt my Star. But he is dead now and we don't need to worry about him", Percy replies trying to calm her own.
"He was going to rape my best friend and the person I consider my sister!" Zoe argues.
"I know. I know my Star. But he didn't. I got there in time. And we will probably be here if anyone else decides to try their luck on the Hunters of Artemis and Artemis herself", Percy reasons with her.
"So you think we will be staying close to them?" Reyna asks.
"I know so", Percy replies.
"How?" Zoe asks.
Percy wonders how Zoe will take the news of Artemis being one of his soulmates. Well there was only one way to find out.
"Artemis is one of my soulmates Zo", Percy says deciding to rip of the band-aid so to speak.
Their jaws drop.
Artemis the male-hating virgin Goddess was Percy's soulmate and basically theirs as well?
"That is just not possible. She is a sworn virgin", Zoe replies.
"And you and Bianca weren't?" Percy retorts.
"He has a point", Reyna says to Zoe.
"I guess. Did you tell her? How did she take the news?" Zoe asks.
"I told her. And she took it supposedly well. But I think she is still in shock from what happened with Gration and Thorn. As well as my sudden appearance", Percy replies.
"Could be that. Do you think I should talk to her tonight?" Zoe asks.
"Do you want to? I won't stop you if you do", Percy replies.
"I think I better. She wouldn't get a serious shock tomorrow if I do it now. I owe her that much", Zoe replies.
"Then do it. I think she needs her old friend back. If not to just know she still lives but to have someone that supports her 100% and someone she trusts completely", Percy replies pecking his wife's lips.
"I love you for being so supportive", Zoe replies kissing him passionately.
"I always will be", Percy replies smiling at her.
"Good. I will go and see her", Zoe states kissing him again before getting up, "Don't wait up"
"Alright. Good luck my Star", Percy replies.
"Thank you", Zoe replies smiling before leaving the tent with her hood up.
"How do you think that will go?" Reyna asks him.
"I think it will go well. I believe Artemis will just be glad she had her best friend and basically sister back. To have someone she can talk to about anything", Percy replies.
"I hope it goes well too. As well as a few other reunions I could name", Reyna replies giving him a pointed look.
"Oh that will be soooo fun my Warrioress", Percy says sarcastically.
Thinking about not just his reunion with Thalia. Which would be electrifying to say the least.
But also his ex-Father, Uncles, the Council and probably and hopefully not his ex-friends too…
