At the battle of Camlann Merlin saves Arthur's life. However, everyone discovers that Merlin is a sorcerer and Arthur banishes him. Five years later, Arthur and Merlin realize they can only fulfill the prophecy together, side by side. The next morning they wake up in the past, in their young bodies.

Sir Leon found a strange girl one day when he was out on a patrol, pinned under a hurt mare, scared and in pain. Once they took her back to Camelot to see Gaius, the questions began. After every dusk and the darkest hour it always comes the dawn. What if Merlin managed to take Arthur to Avalon? What if Arthur lived? First and second chapter will be quite similar to the events from the last episode of season 5, so don't get discouraged! I used it as an introduction to the story. He turns his head and watches as Arthur shifts onto his side, facing away from Merlin, his long hair falling away from the nape of his neck and revealing the shining skin there. Freckles dot the back of his neck in a peculiarly familiar pattern, and it takes Merlin's sleep-deprived mind a few moments to place where he's seen that exact marking before.
