Detective Conan Funny

"Ai-chan you shouldn't-" Takagi moved as if to stop the girl when she stormed over to them from the professors house and headed right for the gate.

"You idiots overreacted and made him go completely paranoid." Ai wasted no time at all in mercilessly glaring them down as she spoke.

"Right now Conan is in there thinking that the police have been infiltrated by criminals who want to kill or recruit him because of how smart he is and are aiming to kill his mother. Something that is not helped by the lot of you all being out here, and someone having actually broken into the fortified home." Ai said and the police paused for a moment and then winced as they thought of how things looked from Conan's perspective most likely.

"Now I'm going to go in there and try to calm them down since Conan panicking is making his mother panic and worry about someone trying to hurt her son which has her in a protective frenzy. If you idiots have any brain cells to rub together you'll put away any weapons, sit out here, and enjoy donuts while you wait like good little cops while I try to de-escalate the situation you caused." Ai said and no one said anything else as she moved to the gate.

"Mouri's bag of wisdom has quite the smart little backup." Kuroda muttered as he stared at the girl who stopped right at the edge of the driveway and spoke into her badge.

"Well Ai-chan does live with a famous inventor and has a medical student visiting a lot. It makes sense she'd pick up on some things." Takagi said although he was tense and prepared to dart forward and cover Ai if those paint balls fire.

Thankfully the girl made her way down the drive way without incident and they heard her banging on the door.

"Edogawa if you don't have this damn door unsealed I'm going to force my way in and you don't want that!" They heard her yell and there was a small hissing noise that they could hear, like a pressurized cabin being released, before the few officers brave enough to peer down the walkway saw the door swing open on its own.

"Over the top dramatic idiots." Ai was heard saying, not bothering to keep her voice down, as she made her way inside.

The cops outside were left to worry and wonder. Had they really scared Conan? He hadn't been scared of his mom but instead of them? That…that didn't fit with any of the evidence they had so far however.

Was Ai really reading things right? She might be smart as hell but she is still just a child.

The cops outside were starting to get worried and antsy with how quiet things were before they looked relived when Sato came out along with Conan who was being carried by his mother.

Conan and Mrs. Edogawa both looked wary and were sticking close to Haibara who was looking annoyed and glaring at everyone.

"Edogawa, there's no reason to be so wary of them. They thought you were being abused by her. That's why they were trying to separate you two." Haibara said and Conan looked baffled about that.

"How the hell do they think Mom abuses me? She literally carries me everywhere because she thinks I'll break something or die if she lets go of me or lets me out of her sight." Conan asked in disbelief as he looked at the police and Mrs. Edogawa cuddled him closer.

"You almost did several times Sochi. How come you never mentioned all the dangerous things you got wrapped up in while I was gone?" Yukiko asked staring down at her son and reflexively checking his pulse.

"I forgot about them to be honest. Besides how often have you or dad gotten mixed up in dangerous things and forgot to tell me?" Conan asked raising an eyebrow at his mother who paused for a moment and thought about it.

"Okay in my defense I did forget about some of the assassination attempts or some of the other situations we got into because of people chasing your dad." Yukiko said wincing and then she poked her son in his side and made him jump a little bit.

"But we're grown adults and knew what we were going into. I knew what I was getting into when I married him, you are a child. You should not be attacked or shot or anything like that. Just point out anyone who attacked you Sochi, kaa-san will handle it from there." Yukiko said her eyes glinting darkly as she glanced up at the police officers with a small scowl on her face. If they dared attack her son, especially in front of her, then there would be no way to recover the body.

"Kaa-san no! No murders!" Conan said and honestly he sounded like he was used to saying that.

"Don't worry Sochi! You're only in trouble if you get caught." Yukiko said brightly and the police as a whole snorted at that. Well if that didn't sound like something they should investigate…

"I like her." Haibara said smirking slightly as she looked at Yukiko.

"I like you too Ai-chan! Take good care of my cute little murder magnet!" Yukiko said smiling brightly at Haibara whose eyes widened and she blushed slightly.

"I'm not cute!" Was Conan's immediate response to that.

"You're still a corpse magnet however." Haibara wasted no time in that quip and Conan snorted.

"Stop calling me that!" Conan said although he grinned at Haibara who grinned back at him.

The cops stared as Conan and Haibara both decided to exchange salty remarks and quips while Mrs. Edogawa merely watched with a fond smile and kissed Conan's head more than once.

So…the kid's mom was protective and caring and loving and just wasn't around often.

"So his dad is the one who's wanted and keeps getting chased or shot at which keeps them away from him?" Kuroda murmured softly to the others.

It was clear to the officers close enough to hear him that the officers would have to watch out for Conan's dad if he ever came to visit.
