Chapter 3- Invasion begins
S.T.A.R. Labs
"It's transmitting, Choi, look at these readings", Victor said grimly as the box there glowed too.
Metropolis
Hal used a blast to send the barrier covered box flying off and warned. "It's gonna blow!"
S.T.A.R. Labs
"Run!" Victor warned the rest. "Go!"
They ran off as the box blew, and a portal opened as a Parademon in an armor walked out.
Metropolis
The box blew at the same time as the other one, and Clark, Detective and Hal stood and watched as various Parademons, all wearing armor now, flew out to battle them.
Hal tried to fire a weak blast but it was shattered and he staggered back before firing a stronger blast, now sending one of them back.
Clark fired Heat Vision at some, taking them down, and as some of them swarmed around Detective, he fired Heat Vision on those too and they were taken down by that as well.
"You're welcome", Clark shrugged as he grabbed another Parademon and hurled that one away at another one, taking them both down.
Hal was using his Ring to make a green fist which punched any Parademon coming close to him from the front away, but then many of them started grabbing his body, pulling him down until Detective grabbed his hand and swung away on a grapple hook.
He then let go as Hal made a giant green robot around himself and it landed on the ground, making it shake a little before firing out multiple missiles that hit the Parademons and then exploded, taking all of them down within a few seconds as the fire and smoke then cleared.
Detective landed on the shoulder of the green robot and inquired. "Still think I am paranoid?"
"Ah, maybe a little less now", Hal said as he used the guns mounted on the shoulders of his robot to fire more, taking out any Parademons that came out of the portal.
S.T.A.R. Labs
Victor punched one Parademon off before firing his Plasma Cannon, taking another down as the scientists all ran, and he then grabbed another one, punching it thrice brutally as it got taken down, then another grabbed his throat from behind but he elbowed it, and it was taken out as well.
He then fired his Plasma Cannon once more, taking out two more of the Parademons.
Washington DC
Prince was walking when she spotted a girl in front of her eating ice cream, and she was awed on seeing a superhero like her for the first time.
"Cool, you're Wonder Woman", she said in awe of Prince.
Prince kneeled down to the girl's level to speak with her. "My name is Diana."
The girl returned the favor by introducing herself as well. "Mine's Hannah Grace."
Prince smiled. "Thank you for speaking with me, Hannah." She then asked. "You're not afraid of me then?"
"No", Hannah shook her head. "I wanna be you when I get big."
Prince assured. "I would welcome your sisterhood, Hannah."
She then looked at the ice cream and asked. "Is it good?"
"It's the greatest food in the world, if you ask me", the girl said, then tried to eat some more but accidentally dropped the scoop on the ground and groaned. "Aw."
Prince turned around and taking out money, held it out for the vendor, who was watching her with a mix of awe and intrigue, as she told him. "I will try some ice cream and another for my friend Hannah."
"Whatever you say, lady", he said as he took the money from her. "Just don't, you know, take my arm with it."
He then managed to get two of those and held them out for Diana and Hannah. "Uh, here."
They took them both as Diana first tasted hers and her eyes lit up as she smiled. "This ice cream is wonderful!"
"Told you so", Hannah reminded her with a sweet smile of her own.
Prince told the vendor. "You should be very proud of this achievement."
"Um, thanks", the vendor simply said.
"Diana?"
Prince turned to see Swanwick walking to them and noted. "General Swanwick." She then asked him. "Have you ever had ice cream?" She gestured to the vendor. "This cook is truly blessed."
Swanwick told her. "You need to come back to the White House."
"You sound like my mother", Prince groaned.
"The President only has a few minutes to meet."
Prince had been in the world for a long time but mostly in hiding, and did not know how to deal with its politicians, especially considering she was more warrior than a delegate, and what she said next proved that. "I grew weary of waiting for him, so I left." She then gestured to little Hannah happily, deciding to make introductions. "This is Hannah."
"Very pleased to meet you", Swanwick told her before asking politely. "Could you excuse us, Hannah?"
He then led Prince away and advised her. "You can't walk out like that, Diana. You're a political envoy."
"I am a warrior", Prince told him with raised eyes.
"With responsibilities", Swanwick reminded her, and then made an offer to placate her as well. "Besides, I happen to know where they make the best homemade ice cream in D.C. If you're interested."
"Oh!" Prince said, now having a mischievous look. "I could compel you to disclose this secret."
Swanwick gave another shrug. "Or I could just take you there."
Then suddenly there were sounds of crashes as various Parademons flew out of the White House, with people running out in fear, and one of the Parademons destroyed the ice cream vendor's cart as well, and he ran along with the young Hannah, who hid behind Prince and Swanwick as Prince now smirked and took out her sword. "There is my true responsibility: combat." She charged at full speed. "Leave them to me."
She then sliced the first one into two effortlessly, then sliced the next two in quick succession as well. Then she used her lasso to tie up another one of the Parademons and spinning it around, hurled it onto the other ones.
She then leapt high into the air, slicing three of them in quick succession before leaping onto one and leaping from that onto another one, killing that one too easily.
S.T.A.R. Labs
Vic grabbed one Parademon by the throat as it roared, and then struggled against him, but eventually it was killed as Vic threw it off.
Vic then saw four more and as they charged, he punched one hard, then lifting another spun it here and there, hitting the others as well, and like that, used it to hit many more of those.
He then threw it down as one Parademon breathed flames, making him fly off and fall down, groaning in pain.
One of them pinned him down and punched him multiple times before Vic fired small missiles from either sides of his shoulders, and those hit the Parademons, exploding as the Parademons all died right there.
He got back up and hit some more of them with missiles, exploding and killing all of them easily. He then leapt high into the air, flying, and slammed down into a Parademon hard, killing that one as well.
As two more Parademons charged, they were taken down by a blur as Barry-Blue stood there and told Vic. "I came as fast as I could."
Barry-Blue then turned as a Parademon tried to attack him but Vic hit it with a beam of his cannon, managing to kill it.
Metropolis
The wall shattered as Hal flew out, using a green hammer attached to a green chain to strike at various Parademons, sending them all flying off here and there.
Detective backed to avoid a Parademon's strike and flip-kicked it away before dodging another's strike and grabbing its arm, flipped it away as well.
As the next leapt at him, Detective used his feet to lift it up and hurl it away, and then he hurled another away, but then it got up, snarling at him alongside two others, but the one he'd hurled had a bomb planted on it, and it exploded, taking the other two down with it as all were gone now.
Hal used two hammers to take down more Parademons, and many more came out of the hole in the wall as Detective ordered him. "Lantern, plug that hole."
So he used his Ring to fire a beam, making a barrier which plugged the hole as the Parademons sneered but couldn't break through at the moment. "Yeah, yeah, I got this."
Hal then used his hammer to beat some Parademons before making a big green machine gun, and used it to fire at even more Parademons, killing them all.
Detective struggled with another Parademon, holding it in a chokehold before pushing it off as the barrier on the hole faded and even more Parademons flew out.
Detective dodged another Parademon and hurled a grenade, making it explode while shielding himself from the blast and told Hal. "Concentrate, your constructs are failing."
He looked up and said. "Your mind is scattered."
Hal shot down some more with his machine gun and told Detective. "Worry about yourself. You're the one without powers."
One Parademon roared right behind Hal but was struck by a Batarang which exploded on its face, taking that down too.
"And yet I've fought Superman once, and been in fights with Doomsday twice, plus many other Multiversal conflicts", Detective said, annoyed by Hal's arrogance as he used another hammer to hurl away many more Parademons. "We need to take a step back and regroup now. There's too many of them to just barrel through."
"Yeah?" Hal asked as he blocked a Parademon's blow and hit it with a really powerful green blast, sending it flying off and destroying it. "Tell that to Superman."
Then one more leapt at him.
At the same time, Clark was in battle with the Parademons as well, punching many of them away before destroying a hole bunch of them trying to come onto him using his Heat Vision.
He then turned as many more flew at him from the side, and he groaned. "Come on."
Clark then saw a Luthorcorp truck nearby and feeling little guilt, picked it up, using it to hit multiple of the Parademons, sending them all down and out, and then he slammed that truck on the ground before firing Heat Vision on the fuel cell at the back, and it exploded, killing all of those Parademons as well.
Clark then hovered in the air for a bit, looking at his handiwork, before his super hearing picked something up- "Mayday, mayday, the capital is under attack."
Hearing that, he immediately flew off as Hal muttered. "Well, there goes our big gun."
"He must have a reason to", Detective said, knowing he wouldn't leave them on their own if there was no good reason to.
Facwett City
Billy Batson walked out of his house on hearing a sound and picked up a bat just as a Parademon crashed through the fence.
He held up the bat and said. "Come and get some, ugly. Shazam!"
And then he was hit by a bolt of lightning, transforming into Shazam just as a the Parademon came close, and he hit it hard with his bat, breaking the bat and sending the Parademon flying off by many feet as Freddy and Darla came out, watching the whole thing in shock.
Shazam smiled at them both before flying off high into the air to get the work done.
In Washington, in a plane, the President and his wife were being flown to the White House as the bodyguards held up their guns, and he assured his wife. "They're being overcautious, hon. We'll be fine."
Then they saw Parademons flying outside and one of them burst through the door, sending two bodyguards flying right out.
The other bodyguards tried to fire but were easily beaten as another one led the President and his wife into another cabin, and the guard managed to blow off the head of one Parademon as he said into his earpiece. "I need eyes up, pronto. We're under siege. Repeat, the President is under siege."
He managed to headshot one more Parademon but the next grabbed him by the head and pulled him up, his gun dropping down as the Parademon shattered it with a footstep.
It then marched to the President and his wife.
Outside the plane, Prince leapt onto it, slicing any Parademon in her way as she came inside it. There, she sliced more Parademons.
The President and his wife were backing away from the Parademon when a sword protruded from it and it was sliced into two, revealing Prince behind it.
She then looked at the two and said. "Mr. President, it's nice to finally meet you. I am Diana, but you may call me..."
"Wonder Woman, thank goodness", the wife said, looking and sounding relieved.
One Parademon walked towards the President and his wife from behind but Prince hurled her lasso, tying it up and throwing it away, then charged, slicing the head of the next one and stabbing another through the face.
More came at the President and his wife as Prince continued slicing them all, and then took a leap, punching and kicking more of them away, before jumping at the one holding the President, and punched its head off.
She then kicked another one and it made a hole, flying out and hitting an engine as the plane teetered now, and the President fell out of the hole, but Prince leapt and held onto the hole while using her lasso to tie the President's waist and pull him back up onto the plane.
The three then walked to the control center just as Clark flew in front of the plane and then under it, holding it up while using Heat Vision to take out any Parademons coming at them.
"Kal-El", Prince smiled and sighed in relief.
She then hung from the plane's wheels that popped out and sliced some more Parademons as she and Clark shared a look and nod. "Thank you for coming."
"People in trouble, couldn't ignore", Clark told her.
Then suddenly more Parademons flew at them when a green-skinned being arrived and punched one hard before phasing through the next, taking it down, and hurled two more away.
"Who are you?" Clark asked, eyes narrowed.
"A friend", the being said. "My name is J'onn Jonnz."
What they did not know was that he was Calvin Swanwick.

Vic stood in front of the portal as his systems said. "Unassimilated data detected. Commencing Parademon indoctrination. Download initiated." And then his systems made the translations. "Translating command. Locate inhabitable worlds. Command: Harvest organic material. Command: Process organic material. Command: Repurpose organic material. Command: For Darkseid. Download complete. Darkseid."
At Apokolips, the Parademons were all created exactly how Victor's systems had described, and the Parademons flew out to battle as Darkseid watched from where he stood, his two eyes glowing red.
S.T.A.R. Labs
Vic kneeled near what he now clearly knew was a Mother Box and assimilated it into his technological body as Ryan and the other scientists came back, while a Parademon fell down, groaning, and they looked up to see Shazam holding another one.
"Excuse me, but this is the hole these wigglers crawled out of, right?" He asked them.
One more done, next one shall be heroes coming together like in the film.
