Carmen Christmas

"Hey Ivy." Dara called out to the girl on her way to the gym, while Ivy was heading upstairs.
"Yes?" Ivy asked raising an eyebrow as she stopped to give Dara her attention, Carmen being with Zack and Sara at the moment while Aileen had stolen Hannah away to the games room. Jasmine and Tatyanna were waiting outside for Ivy like eager puppies.
"I saw you rubbing your chest at breakfast. You okay?" Dara asked making Ivy blink once and then give her a small smile.
"Ah. I'm fine. Just old injuries acting up again is all, it's probably what's causing the discrepancies with my armor as well." Ivy said waving it off as nothing important and Dara frowned slightly.
"You sure you're going to be okay squirt? Heard you been through a lot of bullshit and don't want you to be suffering in silence." Dara said and Ivy gave her a small smile.
"I'll be fine Dara. I'm just growing again which stretches the scars a bit and makes em ache. I'm used to it." Ivy said although she was honestly a bit touched at how the muscle woman seemed to care.
"You shouldn't have to be." Dara said quietly, and Ivy was pretty sure she wasn't meant to hear that but she did.
"Shouldn't have to be doesn't mean I'm not. But I'm promise I'll be fine. Just a bit achey for a while and probably have to recalibrate my armor. Good thing Zack's working on an update for it anyways so it'll be two birds with one stone." Ivy said before she turned and continued up the stairs.
Dara narrowed her eyes slightly at Ivy's back. The girls excuse was good and was probably true but there was always a chance that the girl was bullshitting straight to Dara's face. Before she wouldn't have thought that the girl had it in her to lie straight to someones face like that but after everything that happened just yesterday…yeah she knew that the girl could and would bullshit with the best of them.
She was honestly tempted to challenge the girl to a game of poker between her, Sara and Carmen just to see if the girl could bluff Carmen.
For now she better go find Carmen and let her know that the VILE heiress was in some pain. When, when not if, Carmen found out that Ivy was in pain and Dara knew but hadn't told her…well Dara didn't want to know what Carmen would do to her. Dara was usually muscle bound and not one for planning or thinking, she preferred to follow orders and knew it, but she was smart enough to know that Ivy and Zack had solved Carmen's clues when she had faked her death and that Carmen had all but adopted the two as soon as they gave her that drawing on their first shared case.
Dara was not going to be on the wrong side of Carmen motherfucking Sandiego just because she hadn't told the woman that her daughter was in pain.
She had seen what Carmen was willing to do for her friends and coworkers who were loyal to her and knew that the woman would do anything for her children.
If Carmen 'Steals landmarks and leaves clues for the cops for fun' Sandiego ever learned that her daughter, who had been through far too much already in her young life, was in pain and that Dara knew it and hadn't told her? Or Dara supposed that should be a When Carmen learns that Ivy's in pain and Dara knew and didn't say anything. After all it wasn't an 'if' Carmen found out. It was a 'when'.
But when she found out that Ivy is in pain and that Dara knows but never said anything? Nope. Nope. Nope. Not going there.
Dara was dumb but she wasn't suicidal.
She liked living thank you very much.
