Chapter 4- Schooling the charlatans

Edgar was on the phone, trying to control it all. "No, its not true, Mr. Luthor- What? But that's impossible, who- And we are not allowed to?"

He put the phone away angrily and got another call then. "Yes, no, those are lies, the videos are- Who verified them? How is that possible? It's not just- All right, fine."

He cut the call again and then was informed by an assistant. "Sir, government agents are on their way, they will arrest you and Miss Stillwell both, and the public is quite angry too, lynch mobs are gathering all around."

Edgar shook his head said. "Go deal with it as best as you can."

He walked off when Homelander, Maeve, Deep, Starlight, Soldier Boy and A-Train arrived, with Stormfront in a corner, as the others didn't want to do anything with her either, well, mostly, that is.

"So we are just your experiments, aren't we?" Maeve asked Edgar, looking him up and down. "This was all a fraud this whole time."

Edgar started. "Look, we-"

"What?" Starlight asked, really angry. "There is no 'we'! You just used me and the rest for your image, to profit off of us, you're all liars."

"I thought I was special", Deep said, shaking his head, looking like he was about to have a meltdown.

"No, you're just a rapist who shoved his dick in my face", Starlight sneered at him in anger as the rest exchanged looks.

"You are just a disgrace, Deep, no one cares about, so just shut up and back off", Maeve told him, and Deep backed off, barely holding back tears of shame and humiliation.

"Well, this is bad", Soldier Boy commented with a sigh.

"As if we didn't know that", Maeve shrugged, regaining some of her courage from back in the day. "But guess what? I didn't come here to support you all."

"What?" Soldier Boy asked.

"I am done with you all, I betrayed who I was, but now I remember, and I'm not staying here any longer", Maeve snarled at them all as Annie had a smile at the fact that Maeve was a good person.

"I'm done too, I'm not going to degrade myself to remain in the biggest superhero team where everyone is so horrible, and besides, you're all going down anyway", Annie snarled, looking at each and every one of them except Maeve with angry eyes, and none of them said a word to her, not even Homelander.

"So what? What do we do now? You can protect us, right?" A-Train asked.

"Oh no, he can't, he is done for, so are most of you."

They turned to see Lex Luthor walk in like he owned the whole building as well as Edgar and the Seven, and smirked at all of them. "I don't think they'd have much of a reason to take Starlight and Queen Maeve, since it is confirmed that Homelander scared her into leaving the plane with him."

Maeve nodded with a sigh, since that was true. "And Starlight is new, so she couldn't have been involved in any scandals."

"That woman was right about the Deep, he did the same to me", Starlight told him.

"Well then, he'll get his", Lex said, then turned to Edgar who glared at him angrily.

"You….." Edgar pointed at Lex in a rage, looking like he wanted to just rip his throat out. And if looks could kill, Lex would have died, turned to ashes, then reformed back into a normal human body to be resurrected, and then died and turned to ashes once more, and the process would have repeated a full 10 times at least.

But, the truth was, looks couldn't kill (unless one had superpowers to do something like that), and so Lex just stood there calmly, matching Edgar's enraged glare with a calm one of his own, not bothered in the least bit that he was in a room full of people who could kill him if they wanted, because he had it all in his pinky finger really, none of them could do a thing to them, they were all going down for all the horrible things they had done to this world.

All the lies and propaganda, it was going down. It felt good to be a hero for once.

"How dare you do this to us?" Stan roared at Lex angrily. "We did nothing to you! Your company was thriving even with us ahead! Nothing would have changed, we all could have just 'live and let live'! Why did you have to dig in and tell everyone about us?!"

Lex chuckled. Stan still didn't get it. A little bit of it was about eliminating the competition, yes, but the truth was, he had to prepare this world and the people in it for what was coming, something greater and more dangerous than anything they had ever seen.

And taking out these false heroes was his way of doing so, they would all get what they deserve, and then the real heroes of this whole world would be the ones to fight for it when the time came, when the need was dire and saving it was needed.

Stan and most of the Seven would have no part in that, because they were what stopped this world from moving forth.

"You have fallen for one of man's greatest sins, Stan. Pride. You thought you could be greater than God. But now you'll fall, like any man. No...less, than a man."

Edgar glared angrily and now lost all of his bravado and calm with the odds stacked up against him, and losing his normal stature and presence, screamed. "Homelander! Kill him! Kill him NOW! He dared to come at us! Show him what it means! Do it Homelander!"

Homelander had not said a word so far, everything that had happened to him had only served to worsen his mental condition, and this was the final blow to his sanity.

He rushed to Edgar and grabbed his throat, lifting him up. "You…..don't tell me…what to do! I can do whatever the fuck I want! I CAN DO WHATEVER THE FUCK I WANT! I CAN DO IT!"

With that, he squeezed a little and a sickening crack was heard as Edgar's neck broke, but Homelander wasn't done and squeezed harder till Edgar's neck and head had all turned into nothing more than a bloody pulp, with blood all flowing here and there and some even splattering itself onto Homelander's face, and that, combined with his eyes, gave him the look of a madman.

Which, to be fair, he was.

He then turned his murderous attention to Lex. "You will pay!"

Homelander charged Lex, but then a stronger hand blocked his own, and they all looked up to see Kal-El aka Superman standing there. He made Homelander look tiny in comparison.

"He is like a taller and buffer version of Homelander", Starlight commented to Maeve.

Lex took a seat, knowing the show had now just begun, and the whole world would be watching it too. "Mine are bigger than yours."

Homelander tried to free his fist but Kal's grip was just too much for him. He screamed and fired his lasers but Kal was unaffected and backhanded him hard, sending him flying off and crashing to the ground as people gathered.

Homelander looked at them and attempted to fire his lasers at a girl but Kal flew in the way, taking the hit, and not being affected in the least.

The others, except Maeve and Starlight, attempted to go help when Steve flew down in front of them, looking at them all as he turned normal for a bit.

"Anyone who tries to help Homelander is going down", Steve said simply.

Soldier Boy threw his own shield as Steve used his to block, and Soldier Boy caught his shield on return.

"Mine is better than yours", Steve said simply with a shrug, looking at Soldier Boy in absolute disgust. "Don't try anything again."

Soldier Boy roared and charged as Steve rolled his eyes, side-stepping to avoid and grabbing him by the back of the collar, threw him off to the ground, then kicked him hard, sending him crashing through the wall.

"Blue eyes, blonde hair, Aryan perfection, yet you side with the weak", Stormfront said to Steve, looking at him angrily.

Steve turned into Green Lantern again and told Stormfront. "Eyes, skin, hair, these do not decide who is better and who is worse, what we do does, and right now, most of you are among the worst people I have met."

"Shut up!" A-Train said as he prepared to rush Steve but a barrier appeared in the way in time and he was sent flying off as Stormfront then fired electricity but Steve blocked once more, really not bothered by most of these attacks, rather finding them a nuisance.

Deep made to help but Starlight hit him with a blast, sending him flying off. "You are not going to do anything bad again!"

Steve realized she was a good person caught up amongst bad people, while Maeve tapped Stormfront's shoulder from behind and as she turned, Maeve punched her, sending her staggering away. "I am done with this, done with you all, like I said before, I stand with those two."

Steve smiled, now knowing this world had 2 good Supers after all, who could be its Heroes for sure.

"Come on", Steve said as he hovered and flew out. "Come out and fight me if you really are as big as you claim."

His strategy worked as Stormfront charged with a roar and flew at him to punch but he avoided and hit her with a powerful beam, sending her crashing away as she groaned in pain, and he flew to her, then saw A-Train speeding to him and used the Ring to create green grease, on which A-Train tripped and crashed, breaking most of his bones as he screamed in pure agony at what he was going through now.

Stormfront fired more electricity but Steve simply blocked with a barrier, then created two giant hands on either side of Stormfront before clapping them, hitting her hard and making her whole body ache brutally as she was dazed and staggered around in pain.

Steve landed as she glared at him, attempting to fire electricity one more time but he blocked once more and she staggered back, clearly weakened.

Steve then created a hammer like Mjolnir again and tossing the shield up, used the hammer to hit it, sending it at Stormfront who was hit on the chest and sent crashing to the ground, badly injured and looking like she would pass out any minute.

Steve walked to her and said. "You could have used your powers to help people, change the world, but you just use them to bully good people."

With that, he created a boxing glove and used that to punch her out.

Then he turned normal, only for a shield to come at him so he blocked and saw Soldier Boy catching his shield, and rolled his eyes.

"Give up right now", Steve warned.

"NEVER!" Soldier Boy roared as he leapt up with both feet pointed to kick, but Steve side-stepped to avoid, then flipped and kicked Soldier Boy on the back of the head, making him fall down.

Soldier Boy flipped up and spin kicked twice as Steve leaned back to avoid both times, then pushed with his shield as Soldier Boy was sent flying off again.

He got back up and leapt up with a punch as Steve dodged, then he struck with his shield which Steve blocked with his own before ducking to avoid another blow, and decked Soldier Boy on the abdomen twice, making him grunt in pain before Steve gave him a hard uppercut, sending him flying up and then crashing on the ground again, groaning in pain before he rolled away and got back up.

Roaring, Soldier Boy charged and leapt, his shield lifted up to bash Steve, but Steve blocked with his own shield again and Soldier Boy staggered back before Steve spun and elbowed his face, then his gut, then spun and punched his face and throat hard before grabbing his hand where he held the shield, and both of them struggled, but Steve twisted and broke Soldier Boy's hand, making him scream in pain as Steve snatched his own shield from him.

Before Soldier Boy could react to any of it, Steve bashed him hard with both of the shields, dazing him and making him fall down, and then Steve kicked his face hard, finally knocking him out.

Kal and Homelander were still fighting. Or more accurately, Kal was standing and shaking his head in amusement while Homelander was throwing a temper tantrum and giving it his all.

"FUCK YOU!" Homelander screamed, firing powerful lasers into Kal's eyes, but he just stood there, really not bothered at all, and looked pretty bored too.

"Out of all evil versions of myself I have fought, you are the weakest", Kal said.

As expected, that got a strong reaction as Homelander charged Kal with a roar of rage and punched, only to scream in pain as his own hand was broken and some blood vessels burst too.

"Your powers may make you a God, but in your actions, you are no more than a petty psychopath with superpowers, you are no hero, and your days of doing anything you wanted have come to an end now", Kal declared to Homelander calmly. "Its over, Homelander. Now all the people you fooled, or killed, or tortured, innocent people, they will get the justice that they deserve, and you will pay for each and every one of your crimes that you have committed."

Homelander roared and tried to punch with his other hand, breaking that one too along with bursting some blood vessels as Kal put his hand on his face and lightly pushed, making Homelander fly off by many feet and crash to the ground, bleeding and moaning in pure pain.

Kal landed in front him, now Butcher with him as Butcher glared at Homelander and snarled. "You raped my wife, you cunt! You are going to pay for all of it. You hear me? You will pay for it all!"

Kal smirked and kicked Homelander out, and with that, the 'most powerful being on this planet' was defeated.

Just like that, the Seven were defeated and Vought was taken out forever.

Butcher, while still not completely over his anti-Super bigotry, trusted him and Steve more and noted they were good people.

"Fucking diabolical."

Next chapter shall be the final one, and then a post-credits chapter too.

The Seven all got what they deserved.

Steve and Soldier Boy I imagine would be an even fight if Steve doesn't use his Green Lantern Ring, since Soldier Boy would be enhanced in a similar way to Steve, but at day's end, you just cannot beat the original.

HELL YEAH!
