"Are you sure you two don't want a bigger boat?" One of the fishermen asked looking at Luffy and Brulee with a sweatdrop as they climbed into the boat that Luffy had picked out, the same one as last time that had a barrel of fruit already in it ready to go."
"Not meat?" Sanji asked surprised that the captain didn't just have a barrel full of meat on his boat.
"Wait for it."
"Nah we'll get a bigger one soon. For now this is fine." Luffy said knowing how this was going to end. He didn't want to take the fisherman's boat only for it to end up in a whirlpool. That wouldn't be fair to the poor fisherman."
"A whirlpool?" The rest of his crew were staring at him in disbelief while he just laughed.
"Yeah sailed right into it by accident not too long after I started away from Dawn Island." Luffy said with a laugh. Everyo"e stared at him in disbelief. He could have died shortly after leaving the island, long before he ever met any of his crew?!
Said crew immediately reached out to touch him somewhere as if to reassure themselves that he was alive.
"Ready to go dear?" Luffy asked grinning as he helped Brulee into the boat, making her snort slightly and grin back.
"Of course." The 32 year old woman said smiling at her much younger boyfriend. The villagers reactions to finding out that he was dating a woman in general was funny, the reactions they had to finding out he was dating another pirate was hilarious."
"Yeah they were! Wiwiwiwiwi!" Brulee was laughing hard at remembering the looks on their faces. Especially when they learned that she was younger than they thought she was. Of course no one really cared about the age difference anyways since everyone on that island knew Luffy gave no fucks about that.
"The looks on their fucking faces when they found out that she was only fifteen years older than him and the daughter of an Emperor? Priceless."
"It was! Especially since Luffy and I hadn't even been the ones to tell them! One of them had realized it after recognizing my bounty poster, after I'd already been there for a week!" Brulee said grinning widely and Luffy was laughing as he recalled that. They all went nuts upon realizing that he was engaged to the daughter of a Yonko and hadn't seen any big deal about it.
"It was harder to tell who was more excited for this journey. Luffy, who was ready to meet with his Nakama again and get back on the way to being Pirate King, or Brulee who had always wanted to explore more than just Whole Cake Island and get the whole story on how her husband to be met his crewmates."
"Of course I'm excited! Not only do I get to sail with my husband and his crew from the start but there's a whole wide world I'll get to see!" Brulee said her eyes lighting up as she thought about it and recalled just how excited she was to be exploring.
Some of her siblings looked jealous but most of the older ones looked happy for her. They all had wanted to explore before but the most they were able to do was see other islands when conquering them or getting ingredients.
"Hello there Lord of the Coast." Luffy said his eyes shadowed when the large Seaking rose up as if to swallow the ship and its two occupants.
"Oh? That's an impressive size for the East Blue." Brulee said looking more amused by the Seaking's appearance than she should be. She wasn't worried in the least actually."
"Of course not. It was big but nowhere near as big as the ones Praline and Prim liked to play with when they were little." Brulee said waving it off and making everyone glance at the two fishman women.
"Get lost." Luffy glared, focusing his Conquerors Haki on the Seaking. He had been honing his Haki in the forest with Brulee and helping her hone her own Observation and Armament Haki as well. Her Observation would never be as good as her Brother Katakuri's…but that didn't mean she couldn't improve it some."
"I'll never be able to see the future but I can always sense attacks coming or tell where people are!" Brulee said brightly at that while her siblings looked a bit impressed at how that was much stronger than they remembered her Haki being. Most of the siblings only trained the bare minimum in Haki usage aside from Katakuri who honed his observation far more than his Armament.
"Her Armament Haki was impressive however, being able to enforce her mirrors enough to withstand a direct blow from Luffy's Red Hawk at point blank range."
"Which packs a hell of a whallop to it. The fact that she can send it right back at him or at someone else nearby is also kind of scary!" Usopp said but he was grinning at Brulee who gave a small cackle at that.
"I might not be good with Observation but my strong suit is always going to be using the enemies strength against them!" Brulee said with a wicked grin.
"Good job dear." Brulee said smiling as she kissed Luffy's cheek, having not bothered to move from her spot sitting near the barrel of food they had been given."
"Why would I? I know he would be able to handle it Haki or no Haki!"
"Thanks but you might want to go into the mirror world." Luffy said smiling at his fiancée who frowned slightly in confusion.
"Well if I remember right…we're about to get into a whirlpool. I can eat the food in the barrel and hop in to save me, but the barrel's too small for you or both of us. So it'd be easier for you to be in the mirror world right?" Luffy asked smiling at her and making her close her eyes and pinch the bridge of her nose."
"Yeah…I got used to doing that when sailing with him, much less after we started to date." Brulee said and the rest of the Strawhats nodded solemnly in agreement.
"You think most of his antics are funny or endearing now." Nami said dryly to the woman who raised an eyebrow.
"Don't even try to tell me that you all don't. I know you nine are wrapped around his pinkie even if you don't often admit it." Brulee said and it said something when all of the Straw Hats didn't disagree with her.
"I could have lost you before I even knew you existed. Alright I'll go into the mirror world but as soon as water starts getting in the barrel I'm bringing you into the mirror world with me." Brulee said making Luffy smile and kiss her cheek.
"I know. I trust you. I just want to keep you safe…but if you need more convincing…" Luffy trailed off as he placed his hat upon her head which caused her to blink before blushing slightly as she pulled it down safely."
"He always leaves his hat as reassurance that he's coming back or as a symbol of safety like don't worry I'm Here you're safe now." Nami said and she recalled how it had felt when he had nearly slammed his hat onto her head when she had asked him for help finally.
"Idiot." Brulee said blushing a bit as Luffy finished eating everything in the barrel aside from some food for her to take to the Mirror World with her. His crews reaction to him actually saving food for her the first time had been hilarious, plus the fact that he never stole food from her plate like he did everyone elses."
"Not to mention the fact that you actually feed him with your fingers sometimes. Scared the hell out of all of us the first time thinking he was about to bite off your finger." Sanji said shaking his head as he remembered the heart stopping horror he had felt when Brulee had offered to let Luffy have the shrimp that was in her hand and the idiot had accepted and moved to bite it off of her palm.
They had all jumped up thinking he was about to accidently take a bite out of her but he had actually been very careful not to bite her.
"Your idiot. Now go." Luffy said kissing her cheek again and making her blush brighter and splutter a bit as she summoned a mirror inside of the barrel and sank into it, taking the remaining fruits with her before closing up the portal and leaving just a small plain mirror behind.
"Shishishi. Time to meet Coby again." Luffy said grinning as he hopped into the barrel and closed the lid over the top of it, holding the mirror close so that it didn't get damaged or hit by any water in case there was a hole or crack in the barrel."
"You're so protective of mirrors dear." Brulee said shaking her head at him while he laughed a bit.
"They remind me of you!" Luffy grinned and she blushed a bit at that, smiling shyly and leaning against him.
"Wake up Luffy. There's people talking." Brulee called through the mirror a while later, waking up her boyfriend who had somehow fallen asleep.
"Hm? Oh yeah. I remember this part." Luffy said grinning slightly as he woke up instantly at his girlfriends gentle coaxing."
"Most of the time if he feels safe then it's a mess and a half trying to get him to wake up…unless Brulee is the one asking. He wakes up immediately for her." Sanji said shaking his head slightly in disbelief.
"Well he also wakes up fast and easily to get to Sabo when it's his turn to watch the baby." Amande said smiling down at her son who was being lovingly and protectively cuddled by his father.
"You let him take care of and watch after your son?" Daifuku asked staring at his sister in disbelief.
"Of course. He's very careful and caring of Sabo, he absolutely adores Sabo and Sabo of course adores him back. Honestly it's a toss up of what Sabo's first word will be. Mama or Meat." Amande said grinning slightly amused at that as she looked at Luffy who grinned back.
"I will not apologize! You and I both know that baby will be more of a carnivore than a sweets eater! And that is mostly because of Ace-nii not me!" Luffy said making Amande snort slightly while Ace grinned.
"I mean…yeah he's not wrong." Ace said sheepishly and his wife merely shook her head fondly.
"That was a Great Nap!" Luffy yelled as he busted through the barrel 'accidentally' hitting one guy who was about to slice the barrel open."
"Who the hell sees a barrel of anything and tries to slice it open? If there was booze or something you'd waste it!" Effiler asked raising an eyebrow and Zoro just grinned a little as he looked away when the whole crew aside from Jimbe, Amande, Brulee, and Brook looked at him pointedly.
"Wiwiwiwiwiwiwi! You goofball." Brulee said rising from the mirror out of the barrel as well, causing those staring to gape in disbelief at how two people fit in the small barrel or at her impressive almost twelve feet tall height. One of the two."
"Yeah pretty good toss up there, especially in East Blue where people don't usually get that tall." Nami said nodding her head and making the rest of the East Blue natives nod in agreement.
"Oh hey is there any meat around here?" Luffy asked talking to Coby and ignoring the other two pirates behind him that were trying to be threatening.
"Don't ignore us! We're part of the Alvida pirates you little punk!" One guy shouted at Luffy who just snickered while Brulee looked confused."
"Who?" Amande asked confused and the Original East Blue Crew frowned in thought.
"Isn't she that woman who works for Buggy and is obsessed with Luffy?" Usopp asked recalling something about some woman named Alvida who had an Iron Mace and apparently was obsessed with Luffy for being the first guy to stand up to her and beat her.
"…Where is she I just want to talk?" There was a dangerous flexing of the claws with that sentence.
"Brulee no!" The rest of the crew tried to calm her down while Luffy just laughed.
"Who's Alvida? I don't recall hearing about her before?" Brulee asked looking at Luffy who just laughed.
"You wouldn't have. She's a baby whale who can walk and talk like a human, she has a low bounty compared to what you're used to but it's pretty high by East Blue standards."
"A baby whale? But I recall her being so beautiful…" Sanji trailed off wondering if they were talking about the same woman.
"Devil Fruit." Was all Luffy had to say. After all some devil fruits really did change a persons body greatly.
"Luffy said grinning at Brulee and making the pirates and Coby look horrified even as the two cowards ran off to go get their boss, dragging their friend with them.
"So you got any meat around here?" Luffy asked looking at Coby again and making Brulee shake her head slightly with a small smile on her face."
"Bottomless pit." Brulee teased her husband who grinned wickedly at her.
"For good reason." And now Brulee was blushing.
"You just ate not too long ago." Brulee said making Luffy shrug his shoulders slightly, she was well aware of how monstrous his appetite was. It was on par with most of her siblings and even beat quite a few of the Charlotte children's own appetite…she hadn't been aware that he had always been like that though."
"True I thought that was just after a tough battle or using too many of your Gears, not your standard appetite." Brulee said and the rest of the crew snickered.
"Luffy's had a big appetite ever since we were kids! One time he managed to eat more than three times his body weight in meat when I looked away for just a few seconds!" Ace said grinning.
"I still can't believe you married a bro-con." Hachee said to Amande who blushed a bit and looked sheepish.
"Hey don't let her fool you. She's more than happy to talk about and praise her adorable siblings just as much as Ace is. She's more discreet but she's definitely a bro and sis-con." Franky said and then ducked when Amande's sheathed sword tried to give him a new lump on his head.
"What can I say dear? I need my energy." Luffy said with a grin, causing her to blush slightly as she thought about what he could do with all that energy from the food he eats."
She was blushing brightly now and a few of her siblings whistled at her teasingly, making her blush brighter.
"Yeah I didn't get what that could mean for a week!" Luffy said laughing.
"Lucky rubber brained bastard." Sanji was still crying over how his captain got more love from women than he did.
"Coby blushed as well even though he looked kind of scared of the two, especially the tall woman with the scar."
"Coby was a huge coward for a while, he was scared of his own shadow!" Luffy said recalling that and laughing a bit.
"Why are you both turning red? Was it something I said?" Luffy asked tilting his head to the side innocently and making Brulee shake her head free of those thoughts for the moment."
"For the moment. After we got our own room though…" Luffy trailed off making his wife blush brightly and smack him upside the head.
"You baka! Not around my mother and siblings!" Brulee protested making Luffy laugh and apologize.
"She just handed her boyfriend his beloved hat back and looked at Coby who squeaked a bit under her gaze.
"I'll explain it later dear. Well you heard my fiancée. Do you have any food around here? I'm a bit hungry myself."
"A bit? You eat almost as much as the captain does." Sanji said shaking his head slightly but he would admit he was happy that she felt safe and comfortable enough with them to ask for food now, the first few weeks with them she hadn't.
"I have to keep up with him. I need all the energy I can get." Brulee said dryly as she looked at her husband who grinned widely at her.
"And that is how you ended up pregnant before we even got to Water 7." Nami said glancing at Brulee's visible baby bump and making the woman shrug her shoulders with a small smile on her face.
"No complaints here." Brulee said rubbing a hand over her baby bump and earning a soft loving smile in return from Luffy.
"None here either. I bet our little ones are going to be just as beautiful as you are." Luffy said, his hand on her baby bump as he stretched so that he could rest his forehead against hers.
"Baka…" Brulee said softly although she was smiling at him.
"I feel bad for whatever poor bastard flirts with the Captains kids when they get old enough, especially the girls." Zoro said shaking his head slightly as he thought of how Luffy would react if some punk flirted with his daughter.
"As if we'd let anyone get close enough to try. Girl or boy we all know that no one would get anywhere near those children until they're at least seventeen or eighteen." Robin said smirking slightly and the rest of the crew nodded their heads.
"Oh yeah. We'd all go nuts keeping any prospective suitors away from them." Usopp said with a chuckle but he was already planning which ammo's to use.
"You all are talking as if Brulee is having multiple children." Broye said noting their phrasing and making the Straw Hats look up surprised as if they forgot that the Big Mom pirates were even here.
"She is! I can sense two little ones. Two adorable perfect little babies…" Luffy said grinning and Brulee smiled with a fond shake of her head.
"How could you know that for sure?" Big Mom asked frowning curiously at the boy who grinned wider.
"Haki! Can't see far into the future but I can sense and hear every living thing! Isn't that right little ones?" Luffy asked and he was tracing a pattern on Brulee's baby bump while she gave him a fond look.
"Kind of ruined the surprise about it being twins when he blurted that out a few weeks ago…but at least he agreed not to tell us the genders since I want something to be a surprise." Brulee said and Luffy laughed a bit as he cuddled his wife.
"Whatever you say dear!" Luffy said and he was smiling brightly.
He was still amazed that he had helped his wife make the two beautiful small lives he could sense inside of her.
The book flashed to Monte-d'Or's hand and distracted everyone who had been watching the couple.
