NERV, a militaristic organization in Japan, drafts young soldiers aged 14 to combat the mysterious organization SEELE and their super soldiers; the Angels. Shinji Ikari is taken from his mundane existence back home and is confronted with a life-threatening task as he learns to come to terms with his existence.

After being abandoned with his aunt and uncle on Earth, Shinji Ikari is one day summoned to the far off colony of NERV by his estranged father. He boards the Galaxy class starship the USS Tokyo, captained by Misato Katsuragi, completely unaware of the fate that awaits him... Set in the Star Trek Universe.

The Dummy System is an autopilot nightmare with no sense of humanity. NERV is the one responsible for releasing it upon the world. What if the people responsible for it were ordered not to release it? What if Gendo was threatened with going away if he tried to? The consequences would be severe to anyone if they defied such an order.

The fanfic is discontinued. Will be working on a new and improved version that will hopefully have remove some of the glaring and major flaws. This will stay up to show what is was originally and what lead to it to be discontinued.

After his 'discussion' with Leliel, Shinji gains a much stronger desire to live, although in a weird way. It's still considered the best possible thing that his trauma could have done to him.

Little pieces that were left on the cutting room floor, or thought about at a later point, when writing A Strange Duet. Most of the content will focus on fleshing out the characters with perhaps an occasional humorous piece written specifically for this compendium if time and muse allow.
