Chapter 27: Hero Banz

IT'S JEOPARDY! And here's your host, Caesar Flickerman!

Caesar Flickerman: And we're back! Thank you, everybody, and thanks for tuning in to this evening's exciting round of Jeopardy! I'm Caesar Flickerman. We have already met our three contestants: Agnes, Coco and Iggy! Now, here are the categories: Edible Ryhme Tyhme, Panemian Naval History, 3 'T's, Chop Chop!, They Said It Wouldn't Last, and…. 27th Hunger Games. My, my, that last one is quite specific. I'll have to consult my dad about that one. Phone a friend? Can I… phone a friend? [laughter] Ok, let's get right to it. Iggy, since you are last week's champion, you get the first call on Category.

Iggy: I'll take 27th Hunger Games for 200, Caesar.

Caesar Flickerman: Okie-dokie: "The Victor this year originated from what district?" [buzzer] Iggy.

Iggy: What is District 1?

Caesar Flickerman: Correct!

Iggy: 27th for 400, Caesar.

Caesar Flickerman: The name of the 27th Victor is…. [buzzer] Iggy.

Iggy: Who is Hero Banz?

Caesar Flickerman: Correct!

Iggy: 27th for 600, Caesar.

Caesar Flickerman: The arena this year took place in what kind of landscape? [buzzer] Iggy.

Iggy: What is a taiga forest?

Caesar Flickerman: That is correct!

Iggy: 27th for 800, Caesar.

Caesar Flickerman: Goodness, we are just burning through this category, aren't we? Agnes and Coco, chop, chop! (No pun intended in regards to one of our other categories). Time to get on the board. Here is the question: The Victor of these Games is best known for killing this kind of Gamemaker creation. [Pause]. Oh-ho, looks like we've finally stumped our reigning champ. [buzzer]. Agnes.

Agnes: What is a polar beat mutt?

Caesar Flickerman: That is correct!

Agnes: 27th for 1,000 Caesar.

Caesar Flickerman: OK. [lights and sounds flash] Daily Double! All right, Agnes, what is your wager?

Agnes: I'll do all of my 800, Caesar.

Caesar Flickerman: Excellent! And here is the clue: The Top Two for these Games was reached in how many days? [buzzer.] Iggy.

Iggy: What is twenty-seven days?

Caesar Flickerman: That is correct! I love it! The 27th Games lasted for twenty-seven days! How apropos. OK, as of now, we have Iggy at 2,200 with Agnes racing to catch up at 800 and poor Coco still needs to get something on the board. We'll be right back with Jeopardy! after these messages. Don't go anywhere.
