Hello Asura101 is back with a new fanfic from…INUYASHA! This will be a Sesshoumaru x kagome fic and sorry there will be little bashing on inuyasha and kikyou. This will be my fifth fic and my first inuyasha fic as well. Man do I love that anime, I remember watching thinking who shall I ship and low and behold sesshoumaru shows up! First of this story takes place after the resurrection of kikyou and from then on it'll be mine with the exception of the episode when sesshoumaru tries to take the tessiaga with the arm naraku gave. Warning: this is a work in progress, I do not know how will it end. Finally, the story, leave fav/comment below. Thank you.
I do not own inuyasha and their characters. Also there will be an oc later in the story.
Chapter One Feelings for a certain Inu Arises
Inuyasha grunted and growled as he plummeted down into the chasm, the bridge in half as clay soldiers of the dead fell all around him. Inuyasha once again growled as his futile attempts to slow his fall, having quite enough, Inuyasha threw out his clawed hand into the cliffside and thrust his feet out. Slowing down his fall until came an abrupt stop at the bottom. Inuyasha attentively sniffed the air but all he had smelt is the dead clay soldiers.
"Where are Kagome and the others?!", Inuyasha growled worriedly.
Inuyasha's ear twitch at the odd sound he had heard. It sounded as whirling, and it was becoming louder. Looking up, Inuyasha was able to catch sight of a large leaf landing heavily on top of him.
"Omph!"
"I hope Inuyasha is alright", Shippou muttered to Kaede.
Kaede grunted as the leaf landed, "An individual such as himself cannot be easily slain."
Inuyasha grunted and growled in annoyance as he pulled himself into view under the leaf.
"Would you mind getting off of me!", Inuyasha growled out.
"Oh my, speak of the devil", Kaede quipped.
Kaede stiffly gotten up as the leaf disappeared in a puff of smoke. The three picked themselves up and dusted off just as more dead clay soldiers risen up from their shatter counter parts. Inuyasha looked around them and growled low and threateningly.
"I see you haven't gotten your fill of me yet…", Inuyasha growled out and pulled his father's fang out of its sheath, the fang growing out in size.
Inuyasha quickly jumped into the line of clay and slashed in many directions, when it was over the clay soldiers stood still before crumbling in dust. With the threat over, Inuyasha sheathed Tessiaga and walked over to the pair waiting.
"I see ye fair well Inuyasha", Kaede said.
Shippou jumped onto Inuyasha's shoulder and spouted out, "That witch kidnapped Kagome!"
"WHAT! Well… at least she didn't fall to her death…", Inuyasha muttered angrily.
Kaede ample her way to the shatter remains of the clay soldiers. Suddenly, orbs of light grew brightly and escaped their clay prisons up into the heavens.
"The souls are ascending!", Kaede gasped out catching the demon pair attention.
Inuyasha came bounding over with Shippou still perched on his shoulder.
"Kaede! What are these strange orbs of light!?", Inuyasha asked.
"The necromancer must've used souls to animated her clay soldiers!", Kaede bent her knee and level her stare at one of the clay soldiers remains, "Human bones are baked in the clay…"
Suddenly Kaede stood apruptly up in foreboding, "It is worse than I thought!"
"That witch's magic is offend-dish! She holds my sister ashes and held Kagome capture!", Kaede rasped out horrified.
Kaede turned quickly but was stopped by a certain hanyou.
"Your injured you old woman. I will go and recover Kikyou's remains", Inuyasha says gruffly.
"I fear time is not on our side", Kaede says cryptically and then turned to face Inuyasha.
"I fear in due time that we may come to face to face with my sister", Kaede says.
Inuyasha's eyes widen, "WHAT! But Kikyou is dead!"
"The necromancer has all she needs to revive Kikyou and if she succeeds, we may face a formidable foe", Kaede warned, "We must stopped this!"

Kagome struggled against her binds as the necromancer witch pours more of the mysterious liquid into the batch.
"What is in this water…", Kagome sniffed and nearly gagged in response, "it smells disgusting!"
"You are an insolent one, are you not!", snapped the necromancer.
Out of the shadows came forth a silhouette dressed in a white haori and red hakamas, her hair the color of a crow. Kagome looked up and nearly gasped to see her face on another person.
"Uh… who is that?", Kagome stuttered out nervously.
The person looked down at her with glassy eyes and Kagome gasped. The necromancer turned and addressed the person.
"So you're dressed, I have done well shaping your body with your bones and graveyard soil", the necromancer had said as she turned and looked down at Kagome, "all you need now is a human soul!"
Kagome tried not to flinch at the cold, giddy stare the witch directed at her.
"Uh… what are you talking about?", Kagome asks.
The necromancer patted the jar under her arm, "My magic herbal potion will soon suck the soul from your very body. Soon Kikyou will have her soul back and you among the living dead!"
Kikyou soul?, Kagome thought shocked, turned to looked at the person standing next to the necromancer, a look of understanding dawn on her features.
Then this girl is… Kikyou!

Inuyasha carries away Lady Kaede on his back as he jumps from boulders to boulders, making his way up the cliff. Coming to an abrupt stop, Kaede grunted from pain. Shippou landed down next to Inuyasha.
"Show some care, can't you see Granny Kaede is in a lot of pain!", Shippou reprimanded.
Inuyasha all but rolled his eyes, "Faster or slower, can someone make up their mind!"
Kaede looked over Inuyasha's shoulder, "Do not fret over this old woman! Fly like the devils are at your heels!"
Inuyasha nodded and took off. Shippou watches as Inuyasha takes off from below.
"If we do not hurry, Kagome's soul will be stolen! Kaede's right, there's no time to lose!", Shippou says determinedly and took off after Inuyasha.

Kagome struggles meekly in her binds as the water substance around her began to glow, paralyzing her and yet Kagome refuses to give up. Inuyasha will come for me, Kagome thought wholeheartedly. The sound of scraping jar against dirt sought out Kagome's attention. The necromancer turn to glance at Kagome and thought to herself.
"This girl differs somehow, most my victims will fell unconscious by now", then the necromancer quickly notices a pink aglow coming from Kagome, "I know this light… it is the Shikon Jewel!"
The necromancer gaped for a moment then proceeded to grab the jewel only to be blasted away.
"Has that blast came from the jewel itself?", the necromancer said to herself, "No the soul appears to be angry, Kikyou's soul flashes with inexplicitly violent light!"
"I'm going to throw up…", Kagome whimpers slightly from the nauseated pain.
The bright light engulfing Kagome continues to expand and shimmer violently.
"It appears Kikyou's soul is wanting revenge… perhaps she has experience a tremendous betrayal in her former life", the necromancer said as she turn to look at her lifeless doll.
The doll slowly looks up and turn in the direction of a certain hanyou racing this way.

Inuyasha stopped and gasped at the sight in front of him, lowering Kaede down just as Shippou join in the scene. Kaede eyes widened dramatically when she sees her dead sister a lifeless doll.
"Kikyou is there…", Kaede rasped quietly.
Kagome whimpers again as unknown presence filled her mind and soul.
"No… Inuyasha…"
The necromancer turned and stared malevolently at the trio.
"You survived the fall!?", the necromancer demanded.
Inuyasha's attention was solely focused on the lifeless doll.
"I-It is her…", Inuyasha rumbled deeply in his throat, his shock evident in his voice.
Kagome feels the presence slithering around throughout her soul when she felt than heard a voice ranging quietly in her mind.
'Do not call out my name…'
"K-Kikyou…"
Kagome's eyes flew open, glassy and empty as lights of souls flash out her body and into the lifeless doll.
"The souls is emerging! The moment you'd call out her name and Kikyou's soul sprang forth!", the necromancer cried out joyously.
"Kagome!", Inuyasha called out.
The lifeless doll rose up in the air as the souls gathered into her. Slowly lowering to the ground, pale hands rose up to grasp gently of her face. Her features marring slightly, frowning.
"K-Kagome's soul has entered her body!", Inuyasha said.
Shippou ran up to his surrogate mother and cried out, "Kagome don't leave us, wake up Kagome!"
The necromancer laughed, "Don't waste your breath! But I have no qualms for eating her for dinner!

The next day after Kikyou's Resurrection
Kagome quickly and quietly exits Kaede's hut and headed towards Inuyasha's forsest. Her mind numb and her soul once whole was now half. She felt weaken but even in her current state she would not undone what has been done. She could never do that to Inuyasha, who was barely recovering over his shock of losing Kikyou again. However, Kagome feels in her soul that she is very much alive. Reaching the forest, Kagome made her way to the sacred well, the well that is connected to time. Sitting on the edge of the well, Kagome stares absentmindedly down at her school shoes.
She feels torn, half of what she is. Her heart is yet to be broken and yet it feels like it is breaking. So… it turns out they were after all lovers, each who had thought betrayed the other…, Kagome thought to herself.
I do not understand! How can something like that happen to them! And why do I… feel like I've… lost, been… betrayed, Kagome continues to herself unaware of the direction her thoughts are heading.
It was never like I love that hanyou, he is a friend and protector as all… he did promise to protect me, didn't he?, Kagome reminisce her memories of Inuyasha declaration of protection from his brother, Sesshoumaru.
So why? He's great, that Inuyasha… he's rough around the edges and obviously has trust issue but it's that boyish charm that draws me in. I absolutely adored his ears…, then Kagome gasped out loudly as realization hit her hard.
I... I… I love Inuyasha don't I?, Kagome thought. And at that thought, the figuratively dam broke as tears falls restlessly down her creamy porcelain-like skin. Her lake blue eyes of that of a summer day was now deep stormy ocean.
What am I to tell Inuyasha? He won't love me now that he has a chance with Kikyou! Will I be able to travel with him?, at that thought; Kagome knew instantly she could not abandon her quest for the jewel shards or her friend that matter all because of her silly feelings.
Steeling her heart and her resolve, Kagome stood up and headed back for the village on the other side of Inuyasha's forest. It was then that Kagome decided that she'll keep her feelings to herself and be the best friend she can be to Inuyasha. And who knows, just maybe… maybe, he'll come around, ne?, was Kagome's last thought.
