How much further until he would be satisfied?

Inuyasha grit his teeth in anticipation as the pressure began to build in his groin. His thrusts continued ferociously with complete disregard. Back and forth. Back and forth his hips went. Harder with every push, angrier with every pull.

He looked down at the bare back in front of him with narrowed eyes. Sunlit skin glistened under the bright moon as sweat mixed with blood. Dark raven hair parted at the nape of her neck only to fall on the sides of her face like a veil. He found it amusing the way her arms were pulled back in a painful twist, skin taught and bruised as he held both her arms in a tight lock.

He flexed in claws and pierced them through her flesh.

A whimpered cry broke his attention. He snarled in retaliation by tightening his grip and thrusting deeper. A sniff into the air and he could feel the pain she felt. He engulfed himself in her despair and complacency.

But he wanted more. He wanted to see.

The moment her position shifted was too quick for her to comprehend. One second, she was gasping for breath, begging for the dewy grass beneath her for the world to stop, then the next second, she was forced upright. Her body stretched to bend to Inuyasha's will. She rocked alongside his wildness.

She looked up and found peace in the gentle swaying of the trees. Her mind, body and soul were slowly numbing to the intense pain she felt. Her swollen cheeks no longer bothered her. The blood dripping from the corner of her mouth was merely a tickle. The burning between her thighs was now fading away.

It wasn't long before Inuyasha reached completion.

There was a moment of silence that quickly followed in the small clearing.

It was deafening.

Kagome reigned in her cries and focused on her breathing. Her throat felt dry and scorched. Now that it was all over all the pain came rushing back to her. But she held in her cries.

Just bear with it, he always said. Just a little more, he always pleaded.

Inuyasha gently slid out of her. Her mind struggled to keep up between his reckless behaviour and gentleness. He held onto her body knowing she couldn't move. Maneuvring her slightly, he now had her lying on the cool grass. He placed her arms by her side and covered her with his haori.

She scorned at his actions. It was almost an insult. What dignity of hers was he trying to protect? After all that he had taken and continued to take, what more could he protect?

Still, she continued to love him. Unconditionally. Her resolve was quickly being overturned by Inuyasha's desires.

"I'm so sorry, Kagome, please forgive me." He cried softly, nudging her cheek whilst lapping away her tears and blood. He searched for every wound he inflicted and licked it until the bleeding stop. His apologies were ushered along her skin in hopes that it would help heal her faster. But none the less, at the state that Kagome was in at that moment, every word fell into deaf ears.

She needed time to recover. Her mental capacity was close to breaking. But the notion of going into a meltdown only had her tensing. Experience has taught her to remain still, make no sudden movements. What good is her love if she was accidently killed? Would it be his fault for loving too much? Or hers for not loving enough?

Whatever the cost, she must not provoke.

Inuyasha suddenly straddled her hips and brought her back to reality. Kagome panicked. She frantically searched for his face, looking for signs or hints of what he was thinking.

Did he ask a question?

Inuyasha's face was grimly shadowed by his bangs. Her breath hitched. She waited.

"Kagome," he began with an odd consternation. "Do you still love me?" He asked.

She lost count of how many times he had asked her that question. It always followed right after soft apologies. Assurance, he once said. He never knew love before, so it assured him that at least, in this world, she was there to love him.

However, her replies had soon started to wane with hesitance.

She loved him. She always did. She never stopped. She just found it difficult to say it out loud. Every time he left her torn, the difficulty increased frighteningly.

"You do, Kagome, don't you?" She felt the tears drip from his chin and onto her. "Please tell me you love me. It's not my fault I'm like this. I can't control my demon. It's because I love you so much that I'm like this." He continued desperately.

Unable to answer right away, she just laid there and watched the show. She'd become so accustomed to it that she spent her silence yearning for something different instead. Something that would give her hope. She tried to read between the lines, his mannerism or speech, anything that set that moment apart from the previous. Maybe, just maybe, she could finally look towards a change.

"If only I was human, right? Or better yet, dead. Just like Kikyo said."

Ahh, Kagome resigned, there is no change tonight.

She carefully raised her arms to cup his face into her palms. The tears on his face felt cold. She silently noted how his cheeks did not twitch, nor was his face trembling to resonate with his desperate plea. He was eerily calm.

And with practiced ease, Kagome took in a deep breath.

"You're wrong, Inuyasha. I love you the way you are. A half demon. I believe in you, and no matter how many times you lose control, I know you will pull through. You're perfect."

Kagome watched Inuyasha breathe in a sigh of relief. Not realising she was holding her own breath, she finally relaxed. Only slightly though. It never hurt to be a little cautious.

With a sniffle, Inuyasha got up and dressed as nothing had happened. He flicked her smile and said, "I've stopped the bleeding, but I'll leave the rest to you. You can do that, can't you?"

She nodded in reply.

Over the last year and a half, she'd harnessed her healing abilities. It'd be difficult not to with all the practice she'd been getting. Inuyasha was most impressed when she learnt to heal her scar tissues internally and externally. His excitement only grew further when she accidently repaired her hymen. Not to mention she completely eradicated any trace of his semen in or on her.

Sometimes Kagome wondered with a guilty conscience if she was better off not learning how to heal at all. But Inuyasha had quickly reprimanded her and told her she was being stupid. Her healing abilities not only helped release his frustrations as being a half-demon, but also helped the group after a battle.

She was happy when he told her she was not useless. Not anymore, at least.

Kagome worked on purifying the clearing while she was at it. It would not be good if Shippou got a whiff. He would only go and tell Sango or Miroku, and if they enquired, which she knew they would, it would only be a matter of time before Kagome gave in. She's held out this long, so she's got to keep on going.

They wouldn't understand anyway.

Inuyasha was a complication and he only trusted her with his emotions. He said so himself. He had no reason to lie.

This was not the time to go astray.

By the time she was done healing and removing any of their traces, Inuyasha had already washed off at a nearby river. He gathered her clothes and led her to the riverbank. Grateful for the guidance as well as for the privacy by settling behind a tree, out of sight, Kagome cloaked in her conflicting emotions and dived right into the cold water.

The rush of the water was overwhelming. Underneath, she could feel the currents flow right passed away. She gathered all her uncertainty and pain and gave it to the currents.

It was in these moments Kagome strengthened whatever resolve she had left over. She felt it was her duty, much like restoring the Shikon no Tama, to ensure Inuyasha's happiness. She promised to always stay by his side. Even if it hurt her. So, any doubt, any negativity or helplessness she felt, she gave it away to the currents.

But was she also giving herself away in the process?

Feeling the lack of air settling into her lungs, Kagome shot up to the surface. She coughed and wheezed but managed to keep herself breathing.

"Oi Kagome, you okay?" Inuyasha called out.

Blinking away the water and tears that had gathered, she let out a shaky laugh. "I'm alright," She said and then explained, "I stayed under too long."

"Tsk, stupid woman."

She brushed off his snide remark, not taking any offence at all.

Once she was done, Kagome took advantage of her privacy to prepare herself mentally. She looked down at her reflection in the river and practiced her smile. The squint of her eyes, the soundless creases of her laughs. Once confident, she set off to get Inuyasha.

It was time to return to the group.
