Chapter 9: keeping things hidden

"I hate water, I hate water, I hate water."

"Oh hush, Sandshrew. It's training so just think of this as getting stronger."

Sandshrew was waist-deep in a small natural pool as he was training his resistance against his opposing element. He glared at Oddish who was in the water as well but instead of having a look of slight pain or annoyance, she was relaxing as if in a spa. "How come you aren't training against fire or a flying type move while I'm suffering here?"

Oddish peaked through one of her closed eyes before closing it again and smiling. "I spent all of yesterday training on my speed and strength. This is my day off. You get yours tomorrow."

Sandshrew knew that Oddish was right but the pain he was in was just making him irritable. He turned around and laid his head on the ground as he was at the edge of the little pool and began to dig his claws into the dirt. 'This is training, this is training this is training. I'll soon be able to handle water attacks."

"Woah!"

Sandshrew looked up to see Ash training Butterfree with the help of Pidgeotto.

Butterfree was happy to begin his training with the others and enjoyed flying in the air. Ash wanted Butterfree to catch up with the rest of his team since as a Metapod, he was unable to participate, so Ash chose to use AJ's training brace on Butterfree since he remembered seeing AJ use one on his own. At the start, they just had Butterfree wear it and get used to the strain. Afterward, they began to work on his flight strength, and now they were working on his evasiveness with Pidgeotto using Wing attack and Butterfree doing his best to dodge. It was slow but they were making good progress.

Pikachu and Eevee had the day off from training but since they were bored they chose to train today by having an Iron tail duel. They would battle each other but they would only use Iron tail and no other moves. So far Pikachu was in the lead by one hit more than Eevee.

Pikachu also said that they can cash in an extra training-free day so they can have two days free instead of one.

Ash's pokemon weren't the only ones that were training.

Misty was training Feebas since both Ash and Avoline had told her that she can pull back on the spa treatment that they had been giving Feebas and now work on general training. To their surprise, they learned that Feebas knows Dragon breath so they began training that move by having her use it against Starmie's light screen. So they were training both pokemon by improving Feebas's dragon move and the durability of Starmie's defensive move.

Avoline, now in her Nurse Joy role, watched the training so that she would be ready to tend to the pokemon if one of them gets seriously hurt or when the training was done.

Brock was preparing lunch for the group as he stirred some stew in a pot. "You know, despite how we are way off the beaten path, this is a really nice place to take a break."

Nurse Joy nodded with a smile on her face as she continued to watch the training pokemon. "In an adventure, it isn't the destination you remember, it's the journey."

Brock looked at her and nodded as he liked that saying. "Did you get that from a book or something?"

"Mmm….no. I thought of it just now."

Brock chuckled "well, it's a nice saying. If ever you write a book, make sure to use it."

"Maybe one day."

"Bulba?"

Avoline and Brock looked to their left to see a Bulbasaur frozen at the treeline. They were surprised to see a Bulbasaur out here when they aren't usually seen anywhere near here. But something they noticed was that the pokemon had his focus on one person. Bulbasaur gazed at Ash in confusion.

Brock didn't know why the pokemon was looking at Ash in such a way but Avoline knew.

Bulbasaur kept his gaze on the human that wore a blue jacket and red hat. He was making his rounds around the forest to make sure that there weren't any humans in the area but he suddenly felt the presence of a legendary. In curiosity, he made his way here but all he found were humans and their pokemon. Normally he would glare at them but he was just confused. Shaking his head from this thought, he just chose to leave. None of the village pokemon were here so he didn't see a reason to try and chase them away. As long as they leave when done, he was fine with that.

Avoline and Brock looked at each other with Brock shrugging his shoulders and Avoline doing the same just to keep up appearances.

Brock went back to finish making lunch and when he knew it was done he called out. "Lunch is ready!"

It was this call that caused several things to happen apart from all the pokemon stopping.

Sandshrew jumped out of the water and ran towards the breeder, causing a splash that got Oddish wet.

Pikachu and Eevee clashed one more time in the air before they pushed off and bolted towards Brock.

Misty called for her pokemon to end it and picked up Feebas to move her over to the pool of water with Starmie following.

Pidgeotto stopped his attack and floated in place as he nodded to Butterfree

Said bug-type fell from the air as he was exhausted. He was fortunate that Ash caught him before he landed on the ground. "This thing really tires me out."

Ash smiled as he used his right hand to loosen the strength of the brace before unclipping the latch around the neck and removing it from Butterfree. "You did great in training. Tomorrow you can have the day off."

Butterfree went limp as he was carried towards the food. He tiredly cheered "yaaaaay~"

Ash laughed at how tired Butterfree was so he felt like spoiling his pokemon a bit so he sat down and shifted Butterfree to be sitting on his knee. He then grabbed his pokemon's food and began hand-feeding him.

Butterfree would have been embarrassed but he was too tired to be so.

As Misty grabbed her pokemons' food she smirked at what Ash was doing. "You spoil your pokemon too much."

Ash smiled back at her. "Sometimes they deserve it."

"True."

~later~

The group was walking through the forest as they continued their travels. They came across a bridge that they chose to cross with Brock telling Ash about the Bulbasaur that came into the clearing when he wasn't looking.

Ash stopped walking letting the others walk ahead of him so they were on the bridge with him still on solid earth. "Wait! You saw a Bulbasaur?!"

Brock turned around and nodded. "Yeah. he came into the clearing, stared at you but then left."

Ash slumped when he heard this. "Aw, man. I would have loved to meet one. It was my second choice for starters when I first began my journey."

Pikachu, who was gazing at the rainbow feather in the light, felt insulted and slapped the back of his head with her tail. "Hey! Are you saying I'm not good enough!?"

Ash shook his head rapidly as he nervously answered "Nononononononono! You're perfect, Pikachu!"

Pikachu crossed her paws as she huffed and looked away. "Yeah, you better say that."

Eevee smiled as she looked over to her fellow pokemon. "Come on, Pikachu, you know he loves you."

Pikachu puffed out her cheeks even more before looking over at Eevee before shifting her gaze to Ash's nervous face. She kept shifting her gaze before she felt like punishing Ash. she gained a mischievous smirk as she thought of how.

Eevee saw the smirk and shook her head good-naturedly.

Pikachu then lifted herself till she grabbed Ash's hat with her teeth, jumped off his shoulder, and ran across the rope bridge.

Eevee giggled as she followed Pikachu across the bridge.

Ash ran his hand through his hair before he ran after them smiling. "Hey! Gimme back my hat!" he pushed past his friends to chase them.

"ASH!"

Ash froze when he heard that tone coming from Avoline. He turned around to see that she was glaring at him and he withered from the glare. He stood in place as he waited for the rest of the group to stand in front of him. He shrunk in on himself as Avoline continued to glare.

"You are not to run across a rope bridge without understanding the dangers of such."

"Yes, mam."

Avoline lightened up when she knew that he understood that he was doing something that he shouldn't do. "Good, now let's go." she then led the group across the bridge

Ash looked up and saw both Pikachu and Eevee sitting at the end of the bridge with Pikachu wearing his hat and Eevee, who now had the rainbow feather tucked behind her ear, wagging her tail.

Misty looked back and poked him in the head. "She's just looking out for you. Don't look so sad about it."

Ash rubbed his forehead where she poked him and smiled at her. "I know. Thanks, Misty."

Misty nodded as she moved to walk with the rest of the group.

Ash stood there as he smiled at his friend before he began walking. Seeing the smirking Pikachu again he called out. "You're gonna pay when I get over there!"

The group laughed as they made it halfway.

Misty then got curious. "Where does this bridge even go?"

Brock reached into his pocket and pulled out a map before looking at it. "Well, I have an idea of where we are based on where we entered the forest but I can't seem to find this bridge on the map. It might be a recent addition so the map could be a bit outdated."

Avoline nodded. "We can ask someone when we get to town."

At that moment, the wind began to pick up, rocking the bridge and causing the group to stumble where they stood. They tried to balance themselves as the bridge began to wobble violently.

Pikachu and Eevee panicked as they saw that their friends were in trouble. They tried to get back on the bridge to help but with the rapid movement of the bridge, they couldn't get on without being flung back

Suddenly, one of the ropes began to split. This was noticed by the group and the second it snapped, they all grabbed what they could to stay on the bridge as it was now being held by only one of the ropes.

Avoline was lucky enough to get a good grip on the rope support.

Misty was hanging onto the wooden planks of the bridge.

Brock was pressing himself tightly to the bridge but he threw his hand up to grab the edge of the bridge to steady himself.

Ash, being at the start of the bridge, was able to get a good grasp of the rope with both hands.

Avoline called out to the rest of the group. "Hang on, everyone! Can any of you pull yourself up?"

Misty nervously nodded as she slowly tried to pull herself up so she could at least get her body on the side of the bridge.

Brock slowly reached for one of the ropes that came loose and grabbed it to help him pull himself up. As he did this, his foot slipped a bit as he felt like he was losing his grip.

Ash began to pull himself up using the rope he had in his hands.

Again, the wind picked up causing the bridge to wobble but thankfully not as violently

This, unfortunately, caused the rope to slowly rip in their grasp.

*snap*

Avoline, Misty, and Brock turned their head to the right to see that the rope that Ash had in his hands had snapped. "ASH!"

Ash felt himself go weightless as he fell. "Aaaah!" but thankfully the ropes underneath him tangled around his body and now found himself dangling upside down with the rope wrapping around his foot.

Avoline panicked and tried reaching out to Ash, despite the distance between them and how she needed to keep herself up. Feeling herself lose her grip, she grabbed back onto the bridge "Ash! Hang on!"

Misty looked around to see if she could think of anything to save Ash. "Brock! Can you get to him!"

Brock tried to lower himself but felt himself losing grip and had to tighten it. "Hang on. I think I can shimmy my way to him!"

Misty nodded "hold on, Ash! We're gonna get you up!"

Ash looked up at them with relief and confusion. "What about yourselves?!"

Misty gave a hard stare. "We're not the ones dangling on a rope….. upside down!"

Feeling the bridge straining a bit, Avoline looked to see Pikachu and Eevee trying to use the edge of the bridge to help out. "Stay there, you two! The bridge can't handle any more weight!"

Pikachu and Eevee pulled back as they grew concerned about what they could do to help. Their gaze went to their trainer and worried greatly for his well-being.

Ash looked up and slowly tried to lift himself since he saw that he was causing his friends to worry. He was also terrified at being in such a state and wanted to get out of this. But…

*snap*

Time froze for all of them as the rope that was around Ash's leg snapped and ash fell towards the rapids below.

"Aaaaaaaaaahhhh~"

"ASH/ASH"

*SPLASH*

All of their eyes' pupils became pinpricks at the sight of Ash disappearing in the water.

Avoline nearly let go of the rope as her heart told her that she had to follow him but her mind told her that would help no one. She felt the bridge shift a bit and saw that Misty was forcing herself up to have a better grip before shimmying her way towards the bridge's end.

Brock also found the strength to move and follow Misty.

This snapped Avoline out of her shock and she began to shimmy her way to the end.

Pikachu and Eevee were running by the edge in a panic to see if they could spot Ash in the water. With both of them calling out, hoping to hear him. They were so preoccupied with this that they didn't notice the others running up to them.

Avoline stood at the edge of the cliff and her worry was clouding her judgment as she lowered herself to climb down.

She was stopped when Brock picked her up. "Stop, Avoline! It's too dangerous!"

"Let go of me, Brock!"

Brock held her back as he spoke "we have a better chance finding a way to the water further down when there is a bank. But we need to move, the longer we sit here talking the longer it will take till we find him!"

Misty was already running in the direction the water went as she was worried about Ash.

Avoline conceded the logic and picked up the two small pokemon and ran after Misty with Brock not far behind.

~river rapids~

Ash didn't know which way was up or down as the rapid water was tossing him around like a ragdoll. He was fortunate enough to have his head break the surface of the water to get a gasp of air before he was pulled back down. He was glad that he could hold his breath for a long time but in the way his body was thrashing about, he didn't know if it mattered. He tried to grip onto anything that would stop him but his hand only got cut by a jagged rock. 'I gotta get out of this! But I don't know…'

*THUMP*

Ash's world went dark as he hit his head on a rock at the bottom of the river.

Once Ash was unconscious, he transformed back into his true form, causing his clothes and bag to tear off his body and be flung away from him. For some time, Ash was flung about in the water as the rapids did not let up. But soon the water's movement began to die down and Ash's body was soon found floating underwater in a large lake.

Many water pokemon immediately felt his presence and saw that he was unconscious. They all swam to him with a couple of Seaking pushing him up to the surface on their backs. The school of different water pokemon swam under his body and began to move him in the direction of a small stream, with a certain location in mind.

The gang was running at the edge of the ravine looking down for any sign of their friend as they were worried about him. Despite how Ash always seemed to have the energy and behavior of someone that was in good health, Misty and Brock couldn't help but think him a bit frail since he always has the medical examination.

It was also due to how, at times, Ash would always seem more tired than usual even when he had a full night's sleep. There were also times where Ash's mind seemed to be elsewhere and wouldn't respond to anything.

Avoline knew the reason for these bouts of exhaustion and his mind going elsewhere. The issue was that Ash hadn't been to a pokemon center in a long time. Despite being a Nurse in training with a good amount of knowledge, she could not give a full round of medical treatment. Applying Full Restores and potions while he slept did help but it is the equivalent of putting a bandaid on a gash. Though it can do the job, it won't fully heal it. The last time Ash got full treatment himself was a couple of years ago. And the only reason they could do it was because Avoline's mother had put him to sleep and did the treatment herself.

Avoline continued to run with her friends till she saw a flash of green and blue at a small bank. "Down there!"

The rest of the group looked down and saw what Avoline saw. Brock pulled out a length of rope and tied it to a tree to let them all climb down to where they saw Ash.

Pikachu and Eevee were sitting on Avoline's shoulders as she was the first one down the rope.

Pikachu was clutching Ash's hat as she fidgeted at how slow Avoline was climbing. "Come on, come on."

Eevee was no better as she kept patting her front paws rapidly as if she was trying to push Avoline down faster.

Said pinkette made it close to the bottom and jumped down nearly ten feet. She landed on her feet and ran off towards what she saw. As she got closer, she saw that it was indeed Ash and moved faster with the pokemon on her shoulders jumping down to run ahead of her.

Misty slid the rest of the way down and chased after Avoline.

Brock was next to do so

Avoline got closer to Ash and grabbed his jacket to pull him out of the water but it was when she did this that she realized that it wasn't Ash.

It was his jacket and backpack but that was it. They got caught on a log at the bank.

Pikachu and Eevee grew depressed when they saw that it wasn't their trainer.

Misty and Brock were much the same as they got closer.

Avoline pulled the bag and Jacket off the log and saw that under the jacket was Ash's belt that had his pokemon. She began to think of what she could do since Ash didn't have his pokemon and she didn't know how he was from what she had. She spun around and looked at the female gym leader. "Misty, can you send some of your water pokemon to swim down the stream and see if they can find Ash?"

Misty nodded as she pulled out two Pokeballs. "Go! Starmie, Staryu!"

The two star pokemon came out of their balls and landed in the water.

"I need you guys to swim downstream and look for Ash. he fell into the water and was washed away. We'll meet you further down the river!"

"Got it" they both announced before they went underwater and began their search

Brock nodded as he looked at the females. "Let's get back up. We can't move further down here."

The females nodded as they got up and began to make their way back to the rope.

Avoline though stopped for a second as she saw something else blue a bit further down. Narrowing her eyes, she saw that it was Ash's jeans that were caught by a rock. Staring at it for a few seconds longer, she came to a realization. 'Does that mean that he lost consciousness?!'

"Avoline! Come on!"

Avoline shook her head at Misty's call before running back to the rope. 'Please…..don't let anyone see him like that.'

~elsewhere~

Melanie was making her way back to her cabin with Bulbasaur by her side, she had spent the last few hours picking herbs to use on any pokemon that needed treatment and Bulbasaur went with her to make sure she was safe

"Rattata!"

"Weepinbell!"

Melanie looked ahead to see a group of pokemon she was taking care of running towards her. "Oh? What's the matter, everyone?"

The pokemon began to urgently tug at her pant leg.

Melanie could tell that they wanted her to follow them so she began to pick up the pace with Bulbasaur running after her. She was led to the far side of the pond that was outside her cabin and gasped at the sight. A group of water pokemon were keeping a pokemon she had never seen before afloat. "Oh dear, what happened?" she ran on the edge as the water pokemon brought the unknown pokemon to the bank for her to tend to

Bulbasaur was stunned as he felt the same presence from before. It was the same feeling he got from the human but he couldn't figure out why they felt the same.

Melanie got to her knees and looked over the pokemon. She saw that it was roughed up but she couldn't tell from what. It could have been from a battle or a tumble but whatever it was, she needed to tend to it. She looked to Bulbasaur to see him still frozen in place. "Bulbasaur, I need your help."

The grass pokemon shook his head before he ran over to Melanie and used Vine whip to lift the pokemon out of the water and helped carry it towards the cabin.

Melanie and Bulbasaur put the unknown pokemon down on the futon that Melanie had for herself and she looked over the pokemon to see what she could do to help. 'Bruises, scratches…...oh dear, he has a red spot on the back of his head.' She looked at the basket that one of the pokemon brought in for her and realized that she didn't have the right herbs for it. "Oh no, I need to go get the herbs needed for these injuries." She looked around to see that all of the pokemon that she had at this village were piling in. She thought it was odd but she saw this as an opportunity. "Can I have all of you look after our new friend while I go get the herbs I need?"

All the pokemon nodded as they also wanted to help out his pokemon.

Melanie smiled as she moved to grab another basket and walked out of the cabin. She paused at the doorway to see Bulbasaur was looking at this new pokemon. She smiled before leaving the pokemon to themselves.

It wasn't the first time that Bulbasaur left her to gather herbs by herself so she didn't find anything wrong with this

Back at the cabin, the pokemon crowded around this new pokemon

"Do you know what kind of pokemon he is?"

"No. I've never seen this kind before. But I know the feeling."

"Yes, he is a legendary pokemon. But what does he lord over?"

"He doesn't look like any of the ones I've heard of."

"Maybe he is one of the free-roaming legendaries."

"but … he is so young. Why would a young legendary be on his own?"

Bulbasaur had been hearing all of the pokemon around him throw ideas of what legendary this could be but they had more important things to take care of. He could see the pained look on the legendary's face and knew they had to tend to the young one. "Shh! No matter what he is to lord over, he is unconscious and hurt. Melanie has gone off to get some things to help him but we should do what we can." seeing the other pokemon nod he looked over the legendary to and thought of what he could do to help. He turned to the group of pokemon and began "can a few of you get some of the towels that Melanie has? He is wet and I don't think he is a water type so we should dry him off." He looked at a seal and asked "can you use ice beam?" seeing the pokemon nod he continued "can you make a block of ice. We can crush it and put some of it on his bruised head."

The other pokemon nodded and went off to do what was asked.

Several pokemon came back with a couple of towels to be used to dry him off. Bulbasaur and Weepinbell used vine whip to gently lift the young legendary into a sitting position and dry him off.

Outside Seel used an Ice beam to create a block of Ice before using headbutt to shatter it.

A few Poliwag then walked up to the ice chunks with a small cloth and were able to put some of the ice in the cloth. They then used their tails to carry it into the cabin.

Bulbasaur saw the cloth being held by the water pokemon and looked around for something to tie it. Seeing some string on the table next to the window, he lowered the legendary into a lying position, since he was now dry, and moved to the string. He used his vines again to pick it up and with a lot of trouble, he was able to tie the cloth closed and pick it up before moving it to the back of the legendary's head since it was clear that there was a bad bruise there. He looked to see that the pained face he had died down to a more soothed one, he relaxed himself. Now all they had to do was wait for Melanie to return.

~forest~

The gang was frustrated. Each of them were at certain levels of frustration…...or rather one of them was frustrated while the others were furious.

"THIS IS THE FIFTH NET WE'VE BEEN IN! Was Misty's shout as she pulled at the rope.

Pikachu was biting on the rope in anger "why can't these ropes just leave us alone!"

Eevee was doing the same with her pulling the rope with her teeth. "I hate rope!" she was mostly just trying to hurt the rope.

Brock agreed with the anger but he saw something he never thought he would see in his life.

A Nurse Joy…..scowling.

Avoline was furious. She was worried about Ash. She wanted to find him as soon as possible and make sure no one found out about him. She didn't mind if pokemon knew about him since Ash is in a way revered for being a legendary. But humans…..she would do whatever she can in order to keep it a secret. She looked back at Misty to see that she was just as worried about Ash. part of her almost considered telling them about Ash's truth since both Misty and Brock cared about Ash…..but no. any slip of the tongue could lead to the ones that made Ash. she will not risk it.

"Hello?"

The gang stopped what they were doing and looked down to see a woman with blue hair looking up at them. They noticed that the woman had a stern disapproving look on her face.

Misty chose to ignore the look as they needed to go find Ash. "Excuse me! Can you let us down? We have a friend that was swept away by the river and we need to find him to make sure he isn't hurt."

Melanie would have chosen not to let them down since she wasn't sure if these people were poachers. But she saw the orange-haired girl hold up a torn-up jacket and a backpack that looked waterlogged with torn straps. She could see the worry in their faces and chose to take a leap of faith with these people. She moved over to the rope and undid the note while trying her best to lower them gently.

Once the gang was on the ground they removed the rope and got to their feet.

Brock got a look at the woman and immediately blushed "wow, she's really pretty."

Misty was in no mood to deal with Brock's flirting so she pulled his ear. "Brock!"

"Argh! Sorry, I know, I know."

Melanie looked at the group in interest at the interaction but her eyes focused on the pink-haired girl. She immediately recognized the hairstyle as that of a Nurse Joy. "Excuse me. You're a Nurse Joy, right?"

Avoline nodded at the question as she didn't know why she was being asked.

Pikachu and Eevee were fidgeting to get a move on now that they were out of the net. They didn't waste any time when Pikachu cut the net with Iron tail the previous traps but now they were standing here talking when they needed to find Ash

Melanie walked up to the Nurse and bowed "I know that you need to look for your friend but I would like to ask that once you find your friend, I need your help with a pokemon that was found unconscious and injured not that long ago."

Avoline heard this and her mind froze at one of the possibilities that this could lead to. "...an injured pokemon? What breed?"

Melanie shook her head with a frown on her face. "I don't know what kind of pokemon it is. I have never seen this pokemon before."

Avoline's mind was now screaming at her. She gulped as she asked something she hoped she didn't get a positive answer for. "...does it have a long green tail?" she did not get the answer she wanted

Melanie nodded. "Yes. he has a long green tail that seems to start at the base of his stomach and…."

Avoline stopped her from continuing as she tried to think of what she could do now. That was without a doubt Ash. but he was seen by this woman. But right now, she was told that he was hurt and needed tending to. She turned her head towards her friends and tried to think of what to do. After a second she thought of something. "I can look over the pokemon when we find our friend. Lead us there so we know where to go when we find him."

Melanie nodded as she gestured for them to follow her back to the village.

Pikachu and Eevee had also figured out that it was Ash that was found and they ran to follow Melanie.

Brock and Misty wanted to find Ash as soon as possible but with an injured pokemon in the mix, they chose to go with Avoline's suggestion.

~elsewhere~

Team Rocket were on a high hillside using their binoculars to locate the hidden pokemon village.

Jessie smirked as she scanned the treetops. "That village is bound to be around here somewhere."

James followed up with her statement "yes, and when we find it, all those valuable pokemon will be ours for the taking."

Meowth poked his head between them. "All ripe for the picking. Hehe, those delectable pokemon will be perfect for da boss."

James lowered his binoculars. "Well, we will need a way to carry all those pokemon. Hmm, how about a large containment stadium with a hose on it to suck all those pokemon."

Jessie nodded as she turned to James. "Perfect. It's just what we need to steal all those pokemon."

The trio laughed as they ran off to get things ready

~unknown~

Ash didn't know where he was. He was floating in an empty void that had no sign of anything. "Hello? Is anyone there?" he didn't hear anything and he started to think that he was alone until

"Who are you?"

Ash spun around to see who spoke and was stunned to see it was a pokemon. But he didn't know what pokemon it was.

It was a bipedal pokemon that had most of its body colored grey with a slight pinkish hue and a long tail that was a light mulberry color. It had a hand that only had three fingers with the tips of them being orb-like. And on the top of its head were what looked like small horns instead of ears.

Ash tilted his head in interest as he never saw this pokemon before. Though he was startled when it floated closer to him and he leaned back as it leaned its head really really close to him. It was thanks to this that he realized that the pokemon was only a little bit shorter than him.

The pokemon titled its head as its face was only an inch away from Ash's face. "Who are you? …..are you me?"

Ash was even more confused at the question she asked. He figured her gender based on her voice but he couldn't figure out what she meant. "Uh...what do you mean?"

She floated around him as she spoke "are you me? I've never seen another me before. Or maybe you are another version of me."

"Why are you asking if I'm you?"

She stopped right in front of him and tilted her head. "Well you look like me, so I thought you were me."

Ash just felt like his confusion was going to a new all-time high till he looked down at himself. He saw that he looked exactly like the pokemon. The only real difference between them was that he had a greenish hue to his gray fur and his tail was bright green. "What the!?

The female tilted her head "so are you me? Or am I you?"

Ash was still shocked at the sight he saw. He was a pokemon. How? He should be panicking at this revelation but for some reason, it felt…...natural and familiar. Like he had been like this before. He shook his head of these thoughts as he felt her touch his tail. He looked at her before speaking. "Nononono I'm me. I'm not you. Or …..I'm not what you are or….. well, I look like you right now but I don't usually look like this, I don't look like a pokemon."

Once again she tilted her head. "What's a 'pokemon'?"

Ash paused at the question as he looked at her incredulously. "...uh...you're a pokemon."

"Is that what I am?"

Ash couldn't understand how she didn't know what she was. Well, he didn't know what she was but he knew she was a pokemon, just one that he hadn't seen before. "Yeah...you're a pokemon."

She gained a happy smile as she flew circles around him. "Hahaha, I found out what I am!"

Ash kept turning his head to keep track of her but after doing it several times, he grew dizzy. "My head's spinning." he then felt something press his snout and his eyes refocused to see that she was pressing her snout to his. He jumped back in shock as he was not ready for her to be that close to him. "Wah!"

She giggled at his reaction. "You're funny"

Ash shook his head thinking that this pokemon was odd. "Anyway, what are you called?"

"...pokemon."

Ash shook his head "no, I mean what is your name?"

"You said I was called 'pokemon'."

"No that is just what we call all of the ones like you but what is your kind called?"

She floated there for a few seconds before answering. "'It'."

"...what?"

"I was called 'it' by the ones that hurt me. So I am called 'it'."

Ash felt angry at how this pokemon was being treated so poorly by what he assumed to be her trainer. He brought up his hand and booped her on the snout. He thought it was funny to see her go cross-eyed at that but he had something to say. "You are not an 'it'! You are a pokemon. You shouldn't let anyone treat you badly or hurt you. You should find yourself a better trainer if the one you have now is such a jerk!"

She didn't fully understand what he meant by "trainer" but she felt something within her when he said all that. Smiling at him she brought her own hand up and booped him on the nose.

Ash went cross-eyed himself from the action and now they were both mirroring each other. One pink and one green.

She then laughed as she flew upward and began to fly playfully above him

Ash smiled at her before he flew after her and began to chase her around.

They laughed at this little game of tag and since she turned out to be a better flyer, she paused for him to catch her only for her to flip over him and watch him flail in the void.

Ash laughed as he turned around and flew after her. This is how he thinks pokemon should be. Playing and having fun with their friends.

Avoline was anxious to get to the cabin that she saw just ahead but she felt she didn't want to embarrass herself by running off.

Pikachu and Eevee held no reservation. They jumped off of Avoline and ran to the cabin but Pikachu accidentally dropped Ash's hat, causing her to turn around and gingerly pick it up before running upright after Eevee

This got confused looks from Misty, Brock, and Melanie.

Once the gang got to the cabin Melanie gestured at it for the group. The pokemon in need of help is inside." She looked around the area to see that she couldn't see any of the pokemon that were here when she left. 'That's odd."

Misty and Brock nodded as they now knew where the cabin was.

Misty spoke up for the group. "Now that we know where the cabin is, we will be sure to come back after we find Ash."

Brock gave a hum of acknowledgment before he looked towards the cabin to see Pikachu and Eevee were standing at the open doorway before they bolted in.

Brock began to walk towards the cabin to get them out of it since they might disturb the injured pokemon. He was stopped though when he felt a hand on his shoulder. Looking at who it was, he saw it was Avoline who had a determined look on her face.

"Let me. The pokemon could be aggressive so I should be the one to go in." seeing him nod, she moved towards the cabin and tried to think of something. She can't just let Misty and Brock go off into the forest. It wasn't safe and despite how they knew where the cabin was, they could still get lost. Once she made it to the cabin she felt immense relief at seeing Ash was there. It was then that she thought of something

"Starmie! Staryu!"

Avoline turned around to see Misty and Brock walking to the two water pokemon that were at the bank of the lake.

Misty smiled at her pokemon before she knelt down. "Did you guys find Ash while swimming?"

Both star pokemon looked at each other and were about to respond that they did find Ash till.

"Ash is in here!"

Everyone looked to Avoline who was still at the cabin door as she spoke up.

"Ash is in the cabin with the unconscious pokemon!" she mentally patted herself on the back by coming up with a half-truth. She panicked slightly when Misty came running towards her. She moved forward and stopped the female gym leader from entering as she went into her medical role. "Sorry Misty but right now I am the only one that can enter. It would seem that he had lost his clothing in the rapids and I don't think you would want to see him bare of any clothing."

Misty turned red in embarrassment at the image that popped in her head before she shook her head and almost teleported to where she once was. "I'll wait till he is fully dressed then!"

Avoline mentally sighed in relief as she turned around to walk into the cabin. "I will handle both Ash and the injured pokemon. Please wait for me out here." with that she entered the cabin and closed the door. Once it was closed she fell to the ground in a sitting position as she let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thank Arceus." looking over to Ash she saw the horde of pokemon around him in a sort of protective manner.

The one at the front of the small pokemon force was the Bulbasaur and he was growling at the human.

Pikachu and Eevee were by Ash's face as they lovingly licked his wounds in a way to make them feel better. They both felt such relief at seeing Ash was alive and though he looked hurt, it wasn't anything major.

Eevee rubbed her head on his as she cried happy tears "oh, it's good to see you safe."

Pikachu was doing the same but she had to stop her shows of affection when she heard the growling. She looked over to the other pokemon and saw they were about to attack Avoline. "Wait! It's ok. She is a friend and can help make him feel better."

The pokemon stopped as they heard this and looked at the human.

It was then a Poliwag spoke up. "Wait, she looks like the human that made me feel better at the pokemon hospital. She can help him!"

The pokemon soon began to lower their aggression and move aside for the human.

The only one that didn't move was Bulbasaur.

Pikachu saw that he wasn't going to move so she put Ash's hat down next to the legendary's head and moved to stand next to Bulbasaur. Seeing him shift his gaze to her for a second she spoke "it's ok. She won't hurt him. She has been protecting him for most of his life and she will still do that no matter what."

Bulbasaur continued to growl at the human but if this Pikachu, who seemed to have a close relation to the Legendary, was vouching for this human, then he would step aside. "Fine but if she does anything….." he let the threat hang in the air as he moved to the side while keeping his gaze on the human.

Avoline nodded gratefully before she looked around at the interior of the cabin. She pulled out a Pokeball and called out. "Gardevior, come out!"

Said psychic pokemon came out of her ball and spun around as if posing. She expected either a battle or another break for the humans so she could play with Ash and his pokemon. What she got was the image of an unconscious Ash that looked battered up. She grew worried for him but stopped when Avoline gave an order.

"Gardevior, I need you to block the windows so no one can see inside. Don't worry about light." she put her pack down before pulling out a small lamp and turning it on.

Gardevior nodded as she looked around to find something to use to cover the window. Fortunately, there was a blanket in the corner and she used psychic to pick it up and move it to the window. She focused on keeping the blanket up before looking at the group of small pokemon still inside. "It's best if you go outside so my trainer can have room to work. Don't worry, he will be fine once she heals him."

The pokemon nodded as they went to the door before it was psychically opened to let them out.

The only one that didn't leave was Bulbasaur. "I'm not leaving."

Gardeviro sighed as she could sense the stubbornness of this pokemon but they didn't have time for this so she let the pokemon be.

moving to Ash and checking him over. She looked him over for a few minutes as she mumbled to herself. "Heavy bruising on his right side, slight swelling on his right foot, some cuts on his torso but nothing too bad, and a heavy blow to the back of his head." From what she could tell, Ash's condition was almost the equivalent of a fainted pokemon. Problem was that a pokemon's biology can handle pokemon attacks far better than a human but things outside of pokemon battles tend to have a heavy impact on the body.

It was one of the odd things about pokemon that professors around the world still couldn't figure out.

Once she was finished with her examination she thought about what would be the best course. First things first, Ash needed to regain his health. Issue was that she had run out of potions to use and the berries she had would not be any help since he needed to eat those and despite their healing properties, it was too small to work. She then thought of another option and despite how this could go, she was more concerned about Ash's wellbeing than the antics of one of her pokemon. She grabbed one of her Pokeballs and threw it in the air. "Come out~"

The Pokeball burst open and released a rotund pink and black pokemon that had a long thin tail, hooves, and udders. It was a Miltank.

Miltank looked around and saw Gardevior standing at the side. "Oh, dear Gardevior. It is good to see you again. I hope you are doing well as it has been some time since we last spoke. Speaking of, how has Ash been? I hope he is taking care of himself and not getting himself into trouble like he did when he….what is it?" Miltank, that based on the voice, was female, saw Gardevior have a saddened look on her face. She saw the psychic type point behind her and she turned around to see Ash in a poor state. "Oh my Arceus!" She nearly bulldozed through everything in the way between her and Ash but she was stopped when she was surrounded by pink light and lifted into the air. She turned her head to glare at Gardevoir but she stopped when Avoline came to stand next to the psychic type.

Avoline brought up her hand to get Miltank's attention. "I know you are worried about Ash but I need your help. Ash right now has very little health and I need to restore it before I get to treating his wounds." she waited till Miltank nodded as she knew how the cow pokemon was when it came to Ash's wellbeing. Avoline turned to look at Gardevoir and nodded to let Miltank down. She gestured for Miltank to follow her and the two moved to Ash's head. She lifted his head and looked at Miltank. "Please use Milk drink, Miltank." Seeing her pokemon nod, Avoline lifted Ash's head and used one of her hands to open up Ash's mouth and move his head to put one of the nipples into Ash's mouth.

The restoring milk hit Ash's tongue and he began to subconsciously suckle on it.

Miltank closed her eyes as she sighed feeling Ash drinking her milk. Much like he used to.

Bulbasaur watched this go on with a critical eye. He had been close to striking the pokemon as he wasn't sure what they were doing but seeing how they delicately treated the young Legendary. He still didn't trust the human, but since she was helping to make the young pokemon feel better, he would tolerate her.

~Outside~

Misty and Brock watched as the pokemon that were inside come out of the cabin.

Melanie gave a small gasp as she saw them. "Oh, so that is where they all went."

Brock looked to Melanie before blushing heavily and giving a goofy smile. "So you take care of all these pokemon."

Melanie nodded her head. "In a way, yes. All of these pokemon are wild pokemon. They come here when they are hurt and I do my best to heal them."

Brock nodded as it was noble to take care of pokemon. It was then that a question came to mind. "So what kind of pokemon did you need healed up?"

Melanie took a thinking pose as she tried to think if she had seen the pokemon before but much like when she first saw him, she just didn't know. "I don't know. It's the first time I've seen it before."

"Can you describe it?"

"Hmmm…. It has a cat-like face with an attachment on the back of its head that goes in between its shoulder blades. Most of its body has very short fur that is mostly colored grey but his long tail has it colored a vibrant green."

Brock crossed his arms as he thought about the details that were given and went through the pokemon he knew of but after a few minutes he came up blank. "I don't think I've seen a pokemon with those kinds of features. It might be a breed of pokemon from another region. There is a good amount of pokemon that I don't know of so it is possible."

Misty was pacing back and forth by the lake as she waited for Avoline and Ash to come out of the cabin. She was worried about Ash since he had fallen a great deal and was thrown around in the water. She wanted to make sure her friend was still alright. '...and he still owes me a bike.'

Avoline gently removed Ash's mouth from Miltank as she saw that many of Ash's injuries healed up.

Miltank opened her eyes as she felt Ash let her go.

She had been one of the pokemon that had taken care of Ash when he was a baby. At the start, Delia was the one to feed Ash when he was hungry but it soon came to their attention that he couldn't drink human breast milk without it causing him to feel sick. She was then brought in to be the one to feed him whenever he was hungry. She had grown very attached to him and was very dotting and protective of him. So much so that if he were to ask for something from her, she would most likely do it if it would make him happy.

and got up before moving to Ash's side. She lifted his arms and placed them on his stomach before moving to his tail and gently lifting it and moving it to be extended instead of at his side. Once that was done, she moved to his head again and began to use her hoof to comb his fur a bit. For the next few minutes, she combed several spots of his fur to smooth it out before she moved over to his head and sat down right above it and lifted his head to place it on her udder to make sure that he was comfortable.

Avoline and Gardevior sighed as they shook their heads at how Miltank dotted Ash every time she came out.

Miltank then saw two new faces and asked "who are you two?" she asked as she was genuinely curious about them.

Eevee and Pikachu looked at each other before Eevee stepped forwards. "We are Ash's pokemon. All of his pokemon already know about him and are doing our best to keep his secret and protect him."

Miltank then gained a very stern look on her face as she glared down at them. "Then how is it that he had come to be injured so much?"

The two smaller pokemon gulped at the glare but they regained their nerve to explain how Ash got like this.

Bulbasaur heard the other pokemon explain how the legendary got into the lake and injured but he didn't understand several aspects. As far as he knew, Legendary pokemon avoid being around humans and are very wary about them. But this young one travels with humans. Looking at the ones inside, he felt his best chance for answers were from the psychic type. He walked over to her and asked "what do they mean when they say he travels with humans. Shouldn't the young Legendary be with his meema?"

Gardevoir looked at the grass type and thought about whether she should tell him about Ash since he wasn't Ash's pokemon and they are meant to keep it a secret. But the protective nature Bulbasaur had told her that he would keep this a secret no matter what. She also felt that if he was told to keep it a secret, then he would tell the other pokemon to do so as well. So she told him an abbreviated version of Ash's story

~insert Team Rocket motto~

Jessie smiled as she felt great at giving their usual motto. "It feels great to say our motto."

James smiled as he pulled out a rose. "I agree. And with our motto said, we can immediately get into capturing the pokemon."

The trio of criminals were standing on a large onyx-colored stadium that was floating in the air because of it being held up by large balloons.

Meowth rubbed his tail as he put a bandage on it. "We shoulda done tis at the start. We would have been able to avoid all dos darn traps. My tail is still sore from when you feel on top of it!"

Jessie sheepishly smiled at the pokemon. "Sorry about that."

James pointed out to the horizon as he announced "we have arrived!"

It was when James had said this that the stadium began to quickly descend on top of the trees right by the clearing the cabin was in.

Everyone outside stopped what they were doing to see team Rocket arrive.

Brock grimaced at the arrival "oh great, it's them."

Jessie smiled as she looked down at the group. "Well well, look who we have here. Here to give us your pokemon?"

Misty shouted back at her in anger "like we would ever give you thieves anything."

James pulled out a remote with a big red button on it. "Well, it doesn't matter if you do or not. Because we will be taking them anyway." he pressed the button, causing a large panel to slide up, releasing a large hose that began to suck up everything in the area.

The humans brought up their hands as the wind picked up and they realized what the crooks planned to do. They ran to grab all of the pokemon they could so that they wouldn't get taken away.

Jessie smirked at their futile attempts. "All pokemon are invited into our stadium for an extended stay with Team Rocket. Hahahaha" she laughed haughtily till she heard something.

~Meanwhile, inside the cabin~

The group inside heard the large crash outside and wondered what was going on.

Gardevior moved the blanket she was using to cover up the window to see outside and she gained an angry look at the sight of Team Rocket. "Oh great, it's Team Rocket."

This caused most of the pokemon inside to glare at the window as they were not in the mood to deal with it.

Miltank and Bulbasaur were confused about this since they didn't know what they meant by "Team Rocket"

Miltank asked the female psychic type what they meant by this "Team Rocket" and listened to the explanation she was being given.

Avoline got up and moved to the window to see what was going on outside and she grew worried about this. Team rocket was here and Ash was in his pokemon form. For a group of criminals looking for rare and valuable pokemon, this was not a good thing.

"No."

Avoline turned around to see a dark look on Miltank's face. "Uh oh."

Miltank gently moved Ash's head to the ground before she got up and walked towards the door "they are not taking Ash away to do whatever it is they want!"

The ones that just met the pokemon were stunned to see this coming from her but Avoline and Gardevior already knew that this would be her reaction.

Miltank opened the door and immediately felt the pull from the suction hose but she ignored it as she walked towards the stadium.

Jessie looked down as she put her hand over her eyes "ooh, what pokemon is that?"

Meowth looked and recognized it. "It's a Miltank. To find one of dos here is really rare!"

Miltank stopped walking and dug her hooves into the ground as she glared at the large structure. "Anyone that tries to hurt sweet little Ash will not be shown any mercy!" she opened her mouth as an orb of yellow energy began to grow.

James saw this and wondered. "What is it doing?"

Meowth saw this and began to panic. "Oh, boy. We gonna be feelin dat!"

Miltank pulled her head and shouted "DON'T HURT MY LITTLE ASH!" right before she unleashed a massive hyper beam at the stadium.

Team Rocket hugged each other as they screamed "AAAAAHHHHHHH!"

*BOOM*

The Hyper beam impacted the stadium with enough force to cause it to explode and send Team Rocket flying

Everyone on the ground brought their arms up to cover their face from the shockwave.

Jessie was blackened completely from the explosion as she whined "we were so close that time!"

James was holding his rose that soon turned to ash "yes but next time we'll get them. Especially all their rare pokemon. Like that Pikachu."

Meowth opened his mouth and let out a puff of smoke. "Yeah, that Miltank too, but for now."

"LOOKS LIKE TEAM ROCKET'S BLASTING OFF AGAIN~"

Miltank watched as they disappeared before she gave a firm nod. "Hmm!" She then turned around and walked back into the cabin.

Everyone was frozen in place at the sight of this pokemon coming out, destroying the stadium, and then walking back inside as if it was a simple thing.

"Uh~"

Once Miltank walked inside she immediately got back to her original position with Ash's head on her udders.

"That may have been a bit excessive but thank you for getting rid of them."

Miltank looked at Pikachu before she smiled and nodded. "For Ash, anything."

Pikachu sighed as she shook her head. "He really does get this kind of treatment from a lot of us."

Eevee nodded before she sat down next to the mouse. "He just has that effect on us. I don't mind."

Pikachu nodded in agreement.

"Mmm~"

Everyone perked up when they saw Ash stirring.

Ash opened his eyes only to close them again as the light was too bright. "Mmm Why is it so bright?" he groaned as he tried to sit up while keeping his eyes shut. Once he was in a sitting position he peeked through his eyes to see everyone staring at him with wide eyes, including Bulbasaur. He was confused by all the staring so he asked "who….wha….?"

All of the ones that traveled with Ash were panicking at the fact that he was conscious and he was still in his Mewtwo form.

Avoline was trying to come up with anything she could say but her voice felt like it was stuck next to her rapidly beating heart.

Ash turned his head only to stop and bring his hands up to the back of his head "Argh!"

As Ash did this, he was enveloped in light and was soon in his human form again. "Ow! Why does my head hurt?"

All of the others in the room gave a slight sigh of relief as they didn't know how they would explain Ash's true nature to him since how would someone accept that most of his life was a lie.

Bulbasaur was shocked for a whole different reason. Sure he was told that the Legendary was traveling as a human and he didn't know about it but to see him transform in front of him. It just made everything sink in faster. He thought about what he had just learned about this young legendary out in the world.

Ash finally opened his eyes and slowly looked around till his eyes landed on Miltank. "Hey, Miltank. It's been a while."

Miltank then immediately grabbed Ash by the head and gently hugged him before she began to fidget with his hair trying to fix it since there were several bundles of hair out of place of his normal hairstyle.

Ash grumbled as this was a common thing with Miltank. It was then he noticed the draft and looked down to see that he was naked. He immediately blushed as he covered himself with his hands,

Avoline shook her head good-naturedly as she grabbed her bag and pulled out another set of clothes for him.

Ash took them gratefully but paused for a second as something ran through his head. 'I know I had a great dream but…...why can't I remember it?'

~outside~

Melanie was looking over all the pokemon in worry as she wanted to make sure that none of them were hurt. "Is everyone alright? Is anyone hurt?" she got nothing but positive responses, signifying that they were alright. "Thank goodness."

Brock and Misty finished looking at the pokemon and began making their way to the cabin to make sure the ones inside were alright. It was then that they saw the door open and Ash walking out while adjusting his hat and wearing the last of the jackets that looked like his previous one. "Hey, guys."

"Ash!"

They ran over to him with Misty hugging him and Brock patting his head.

As this was happening, Bulbasaur walked over to the other pokemon and relayed the information of Ash being the legendary and that it should be kept secret. It was to his pleasure that they agreed to this.

Misty pulled back before smoking his shoulder, making sure not to hit Eevee. "Don't scare us like that!" she said as she glared at the boy

Brock nodded but he smiled instead. "It's good to see you alright after that fall. But I have to agree with Misty, don't do that again."

Ash chuckled sheepishly as he muttered. "Everyone is saying that to me." he then spoke normally to his friends. "I'll try my best not to do it again." he then looked at Melanie and smiled. "Hi, Melanie right? I was told that your pokemon here pulled me out of the water and brought me into the cabin while you were gone. Sorry for all the trouble."

Melanie shook her head. "It's fine. I'm glad that the pokemon were able to help you. Speaking of which, where is the pokemon that was in there with you?"

Before Ash could ask what pokemon she was talking about, Avoline interjected. "The pokemon woke up in all the commotion and used teleport to leave the area. It turned out to be a psychic type but I don't know the breed." She was giving a half-lie since Ash was a psychic type and he did leave the cabin after the commotion was over, but the others didn't need to know the whole truth. "Anyway, Melanie, we should get going. There is still plenty of time before dark and we should try and see how far we can go."

Ash looked up to see that the sun was still high enough in the sky so they could keep going for the day.

Brock stepped up to Melanie and decided to ask. "Hey, Melanie, if you'd like I could stay here and help you out with the pokemon."

Melanie smiled at the offer but said. "Thank you, Brock but I wouldn't want to keep you from your adventure. And I think that you should be there for your friend." she looked to Ash who was trying to get out of the grasp of Miltank as the female pokemon was fiddling with his clothes as if trying to straighten them out.

Brock's mood dropped at his offer being rejected but he then looked over to Ash. "yeah. I'd be too worried about what kind of trouble he might get into. I might be needed for something important so I should do what I can for him."

The gang had set off once again and were waving goodbye to Melanie.

Said caretaker smiled at how they had helped her when those crooks came to capture the village's pokemon. She told them of a path that would lead back to the main road and avoid all the traps she had set up. She felt relieved that they weren't mad at her for the traps as they understood why she had set them up.

"Bulbasaur."

Melanie looked down to see Bulbasaur looking up at her before looking in the direction of Ash and his friends. It didn't take long for her to understand what he wanted. "You want to go with them, don't you?"

Bulbasaur nodded at her with a smile on his face.

Melanie smiled as well as she knelt down and hugged Bulbasaur. "I'm glad you found people that you are comfortable going with and I know that they will help you get stronger. I'm going to miss you Bulbasaur."

"Bulba."

Melanie let Bulbasaur go and nodded at him, causing him to nod back before he ran off after Ash. she waved farewell to him as she wondered if she would see him again.

Ash and the gang made it back to the main road and smiled as they were now on their way to their destination.

Miltank was still out of her ball and fussing over Ash. "Are you sure you are alright, Ash? you don't need anything to eat? Drink? Maybe you should rest for a bit."

Ash was blushing at how Miltank kept going about his well-being and the snickers he heard coming from Pikachu and Eevee wast helping.

"Hey~!"

The gang turned around to see Bulbasaur running up to them.

Ash tilted his head as he didn't know why Bulbasaur would be running up to them. "Hey, Bulbasaur, what's up? Did we forget something?"

The grass type stopped in front of Ash and looked up as he said "I want to go with you on your journey."

"What?!"

Misty and Brock looked to Ash in confusion with Misty asking. "What's wrong, Ash?"

Ash shook his head and looked at them. "I think that he wants to go with us."

"Really?"

Ash nodded. "Yeah." he looked at Bulbasaur and knelt down. "Why do you want to come with us? I mean, I'd love to have you join us but what about the village?"

Bulbasaur's eyes shifted a bit but he maintained his focus "I have my reasons and the village will be fine without me. I just want to go with you and see the world."

Ash smiled as he brought his hand up and patted Bulbasaur on the head. "I'm happy to have you on the team. But do you mind waiting a bit before I capture you? I wanna ask my other pokemon if any of them want to head to Professor Oak's lab for a break."

Bulbasaur nodded as he was fine with waiting a bit.

Misty put her hands on her hips as she grumbled "how does he keep getting pokemon to follow him?"

Avoline smiled as she looked at her. "He just has that effect on pokemon."

Brock nodded as he knew how Ash acted around pokemon. "Fine by me. The more the merrier."

Ash smiled as he picked up Bulbasaur and hugged him. "Welcome to the team!"

~unknown~

'I shouldn't let them do bad things to me. I should get away from them. But how?' she felt an electrical shock as the bad ones came back. "Aaaaaaaahhhhhhh!"

"Looks like it can last longer than before. We need to find new ways to subdue it."

She curled up even tighter as she heard this. 'I am not an 'it'. I am a pokemon!' "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH"

"Hmph. Giovanni should be glad we are keeping this thing alive since he already has his own. Whatever, let's run another set of tests on it.

She winced as she didn't like any of the tests they did to her. 'I wanna get outta here. And I hope to see you someday…..Ash'

End of chapter

Now I said in the previous chapter that I would potentially combine the three starter episodes into one chapter, but THIS chapter already hit 11K and that is not counting the reviews corner and authors notes. So I am splitting them into their own chapter

Miltank arrives on the scene. I see her as a wetnurse for Ash since I don't think human formulas and methods would not work for a baby pokemon. And so I came up with the idea of a Miltank "breastfeeding" Baby ash. And after a time, she became doting towards him.

I am still open to suggestions for pokemon to be added to the teams. I got a couple for Brock and Misty and someone said I should add Meowzie to Ash's team and I just might do that. If I do, I have a bunch of funny interactions with the team rocket team

Team Rocket shows up. I will, at times, cut out team rocket from the chapter if they never did anything of any significance in the episode. But I will put in mentions of random encounters "off-screen".

As I wrote this chapter, I got the feeling that I am leading it to a mass harem. I swear to you that it is not my intention. Bloody hell I only planned on it being a few max since I am an indecisive idiot and can't choose. But I made this chapter and damn it I felt like I was going too far. I AM more focused on the story but my need for fluff and love sometimes gets the better of me. But one thing I CAN guarantee is there will be NO LEMON. I don't see the point of it and I wouldn't even know where I would put it. I will say that there WILL BE cuddling and fluff. I like fluff.

Next chapter is the Charmander one. And to let you guys know, Mitsy's Feebas will evolve in the next few chapters
